it's gonna be a whole vibe. August twelfth through the thirteenth,
The Falcons would also hold a joint open practice with

Speaker 1 (03:14):
It's your chance to watch two NFL teams go headtad
and camp drills. Now, this upcoming season is gonna be
all about the arrival of you know what it is.
Michael Pennetch Junior. The ricky quarterback has had time to
build chemistry with Jerk London, of course, Dornel Mooney, Cowpits
and the rest of the offense. That with his life arm,
(03:36):
aggressive play style and of course mobility in the pocket,
loove the sky truly is the limit for this second
year lefty out of Washington Falcons. Fans, buckle up, sports lovelies,
It's about to be fun.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Who's ready?
Speaker 1 (03:49):
You know I'm ready. So let's go, dirty birds. Let's go. Now,
let's go to the other side of the field. Yes,
our Atlanta United, our soccer team. Yes MLS. Atlanta United
unfortunately fell through and one to Columbus Crew Wednesday night
at Lord dot Com Field.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Now, three first.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Half goals by Columbus proved too much, despite a second
half strike from Brits Lenning, marking his first goal of
the season. But here's the deal, sports lovely, here's the deal.
Our Atlanta United teen returns to action this evening, July fifth,
traveling to face DC United at Aldifield.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
Kick off it's at seven thirty.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
You better be there watching from afar because you know what,
you girl will be hovering virtually. So let's just sit
back and watch our team and let's hope and pray
that we go ahead and get back in that win column.
I know they can do what.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
You know, we are here for the.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
Winds that we know Atlanta United will bring one back home.
Now I'm so so super exciting because our Atlantic Gladiators
they have so much discoing on. Look, but glass our
continuing off season preparation as they finalize some resignings roster moves.
With ECHL training camps opening in September, front office is
(05:06):
focusing on adding size to their blue line and scoring
death to bounce back for our upcoming season. So you
better be watching out. Expect some upcoming announcements on player
signings in the coming week. So get ready, y'all. It's
not over this happening. Hockey will be back soon.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Now you know what we.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
Are in the off season for Atlanta Hawks, Yes we are.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
But here's the thing.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Are atil Hawks are making a major moves y'all under
the new GM on Sisala. Now listen, Atlanta had an
incredible draft week. First, they're bringing in Chris taps Porzingis
in Adyl that should be found Lize pretty soon, giving
the Hawks a legit stretch big who can space the
floor and change the game. Now, look, but they didn't
(05:57):
just stop there. They fleeced the pelic against by grabbing
an unprotected twenty twenty six first round pick. And that's
major because the draft is expected to be stacked. Atlanta
is setting themselves up beautifully for the future. Then came
free agency and the Hawks kept that same energy. They
used the twenty five million dollar trade exception from the
(06:20):
Johnt Murray deal to land you know it, Nick Kill
Alexander Walker from Minnesota, signing him at a price they
basically took away all the competition. Now they also signed
Leconard to a one year deal, adding another shooter who
can give them some quality minutes. Okay, now these two
pickups are huge because Atlanta desperately desperately needed more shooting
(06:47):
and ball handling when Chay Young is off the floor.
Plus Alexander Walker gives them another strong perimeter defender to
just pair with Dyce and Daniels. And to top it off,
they're expected to get some compensation for sending quint Capella
to Houston in a sign in Troit. Smart business all
the round. Now, let's talk a little bit about the
(07:09):
rookie Asa Newell.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
Now, of course he's coming to the.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
League in an ideal situation, right, we have prezingas, we
have Alexander Walker and of course Grenard all joining the team.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
Now Newell won't.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
Be forced to do too much too soon. But his
game is built on being opportunistic. He always moving without
the ball, cutting at the right times, and creating easy looks.
His size, motor and quick load time makes him a
natural lock thread and vertical spacer. And with Treyon drawing
(07:44):
defenders every possession, Asa Newell is going to have plenty
of lanes to dive into those easy finishes at the ram.
Now look looking ahead. We got the summer league that
is coming up now. The Hawks kickoff Summer League action
next Friday against the Miami Heat. Their roster this year
we'll include Kobe Bukin in his third year, Rooky, first
(08:07):
round pick, of course, a San Newell, and second year
guard Nicola der Sick Now notably Zacharie Risha Che and
of course Mohammed Gaye won't be playing this time around.
Assistant coach Brian Bailey will be leading the squad in
Las Vegas. This will be his third time as Summer
League head coach, after doing it with Utah back in
(08:29):
twenty two.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
Now listens first.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Loveliest, that's all our Hawks update for today, But you've
got to stay locked in. This new front office is
making it clear they're ready to build something special in
the A and we.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
Are here for it all.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
I can't wait, you can't wait. We gotta stand up
and we gotta stay true to Atlanta. Let's go Hawks.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Coming up after the.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
Rate is my WNBA news, So stay tuned. Spurts and
levelies will be bad. Well, welcome back, Welcome back to
sports Lovely, It's that time for WNBA nes Okay, okay, listen, guys.
(09:20):
First off, big ups bit, Congratulations to our very on
and landa dream Alicia Gray.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Yes, she's been named.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
It started for the twenty twenty five AT and T
WNBA All Star Game, her first time as an All
Star starter in her third straight All Star selection. That
makes her just the second player in Dream history to
be named on All.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
Star three years in a row.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
And get this, she finished first among all WNBA guards
in both the player vote and media vote. But here's
where it gets very interesting.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
Okay. Gray is also the first Dream.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
Player to start in at All Star games since twenty eighteen.
Since coming to Atlanta, and three she became one of
the league's top two way guards. Remember last year at
All Star Weekend, she made history as the first player
ever to win both the key of Skills Challenged and
the starry three point contests in the same year. Now,
this season, Gray is having.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
A career year sports Lovelies.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
Through seventeen games, she's averaging nineteen point five point five
point four rebounds and four point one assists per game,
while leading the entire WNBA in wind shares, offensive wind
shares and total points. She currently is the only player
in the league putting up over nineteen points per game
while shooting over forty percent.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
From the field and from three.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Look, she's been on another level this entire season. Can
we say, Alicia, we see you girl? Congratulations? Yes, yes, yes,
But you know what, speaking of the dream, I want
to just you know, tay a little bit what's been had?
I think, because on Thursday night, the dream fell just short,
(11:03):
losing a heartbreaking seventy nine to eighty two the Seattle
Storm at home.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
Yes it was a tough loss.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
I was there in the building.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
But here's the thing.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Atlanta rolled out age starting five of Jordan, Canada Alicia
Gray to Tory Walker, Canberra.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Brianna Jones and of course BG.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
But this tough loss put them at oh to one
to start the second half of the season. Now, they're
all time ber hurt against Seattle now sits at nineteen
twenty five overall, including thirteen and nine at home. Jordan, Canada, though,
had herself a night dropping a career high up catch
this first lovely catch it twenty five points along with
(11:40):
five rebounds, five assists, and four stills. That's her third
straight game scoring in double figures. Now, Brianna Jones recorded
her eighth double double of the season, finishing with eighteen
points and fifteen rebounds four contacts. She only had twelve
double doubles total in her.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
Previous eight seasons combined.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
She's been in absolute force on the boards this year.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
Now, look our.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
Girl Alicia Lisia not her first double double of the season,
finishing with twelve points and eleven rebounds, the tenth double
double of her career.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
Now as the.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
Team, you know aur Atlanta team, they're tied. They're season
high with fifteen offensive rebounds and dominated glass overall and
out rebounding Seattle forty six to twenty four. Despite losing,
they really.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
Control the boards.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
Listen, the Dream will look to bounce back when they
take one Las Vegas Valkyries at home.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
That's Monday.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
You know we are rooting for our dream team, and
you know what we're doing it for.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
We're doing it for the dream.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
But you know what, I did want to talk to
you just a little bit about some other news in WNBA.
You know, Oh, I got to keep it pushing and
keep it moving, because we need to talk about the
Indiana Fever. The Indiana Fever took home the twenty twenty
five Commissioners Cup title, beating the Minnesota Linked and securing
that five hundred thousand bag yes, the five hundred thousand
(13:06):
dollars perse on Tuesday, July first, at Target Center in Minneapolis.
But what really stood out was Kaitlin Clark's postcan comments
about pay disparity in the league. During their Instagram live celebration,
Clark pointed out how winning the Commissioner's Cup actually pays
more than winning the entire WNBA Finals. Yes, yeah, shot, yeah,
(13:30):
So this is what she said. She said in quotes,
you get more money for this than you do if
you're the WNBA Finals champion. It makes no sense. So
I want to tell Kathy Engelbert to help us out.
In quotes, I agree, Hanti, that is totally insane. I understand,
But here's for content right. Each player on the winning
(13:53):
Commissioner's Cup team took home up to thirty thousand as
part of that five hundred thousand dollars perse. But for comparison,
players on the team that win the WNBA Championship only
receive about twenty eight hundred and twenty five dollars each.
That is a huge gap when you think about what
the finals mean to these athletes. So I definitely am
(14:14):
with you, Caitlyn Clark. We need to make this make sense, Kathy,
make this make sense. But let's just switch gears just
a little bit, because I want to just get some
hommers to Kandace Parker number thirty dallars in US officially
retired by the Los Angeles Sparks last weekend at Crypto
dot com Rita.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
She's only the.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
Third Smarts player to receive that honor, joining Lisa Leslie
and Penie Taller, and later this summer on Arguist twenty fifth,
the Chicago sky walso retired her number three jersey, making
her the first player in WNBA history to have her
jersey retired by two different teams. A true legend of
the game. Congratulations to Candace Parker. Look nothing but kudos
(14:56):
to Candas on.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
A well job, well done. Can't dispartner.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
But lastly, and lastly, a little off the court buzz,
here's you know some things I definitely wanted to wrap
it up and talk to you about. But you know,
the WBA, right it's getting ready to bring Detroit and
Cleveland back into the lead.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
Fever Guard Sophie.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
Cunningham has been really capturing some heat for her comments
about just the expansion. Earlier this week, she went viral
after saying she didn't think players would be excited to
play in those two cities, right yeah. But ahead of
Indiana's game against the Aces, Cunningham did clarify what she meant,
(15:40):
and she told reporters, quote, first of all, I know
the history of the WNBA, I know both of those
cities have had teams before, and godess where we are at.
So I am thankful for that. All I was really
getting at was Broadway, the off course lifestyle. I think
that is really intriguing. I think Miami's intriguing. That's all
(16:00):
I was a get it. I'm thankful for all they've
done for our.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
History of sports.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
End quote. So she's basically saying she was talking more
about the lifestyle vibe off the court rather than disrespect
in the cities. Perhaps you know, I'm just okay, we're
just gonna leave it there, and we're gonna leave it there.
And that is your WNBA round up for this week.
Stay locked in for some more updates as all start
(16:27):
reekend approaches and of course it's bed your talk to
continue leaning up all around the league.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
And that is my WNBA.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
News for the week. So sports loveliest, sports levelies for
the upcoming twenty twenty five season. Nice sure to check
(16:55):

Speaker 1 (17:46):
What my god, Oh no, she didn't.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
Oh no, she didn't.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
Oh oh no, this her for didn't welcome back. Welcome
back to levelis my asked Major Audrey moment is upon
us and goes to.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
A very interesting topic. Now, I'm not sure if you've
been too many games. What if you have? You know,
there are some halftime shows, right and it usually goes
with performers.
Speaker 1 (18:20):
Sometimes they have performers with their pets doing tricks, and
sometimes they have somebody juggling on a unicycle, you know,
just having fun at the half. So this week was
no difference, but it took a scary turn.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
Now.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
Doing the WAA Commissioner's Cup Championship between the Fever and
the Linx, legendary performer Red Panda was doing her thing,
balancing stats of bowls while riding her unicycle as always been.
Suddenly she lost control of her will and it took
a hard fall right there on the court.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
Yes, it shocking. What what is going on? Oh no?
Speaker 1 (18:56):
According to TMZ, Red Panda ended up spending eleven hours
in the hospital after the accident.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
Her team says.
Speaker 1 (19:03):
She's now on her way home, but we'll be meeting
with an orthopedic surgeon soon for further treatment and repair.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
Her rep set. Red Panda is.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
So thankful for all the love and support she's been
receiving since the fall, sharing that it means the world
now listening. We're definitely singing killing vibes her way. Redpanda
has been entertaining crowds for a decade and we hope
she gets back to what she loves doing and hopefully.
Speaker 2 (19:27):
It'll be very soon.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
But listen, sports lovelies, Next time you think you're having
a rough day at work, just remember at least you're
not balancing dishes on a unicycle in front of thousands
of people. Just stay safe out there, y'all. Stay safe,
And this is my SMH ONNG moment for the week.

Spirts Lovelies, please welcome doctor Heavenly back.
Speaker 4 (20:45):
To Chicks in the Sports Staphi Heavely is always a
pleasure to speak to you. Like I said, you are
my honorary co hosts. You've been on multiple times and
I just love speaking to you. But I definitely wanted
to ask you now, as a successful dentist, entrepreneur, reality to.
Speaker 5 (21:04):
Personality, So tell us how do you balance it all?
Speaker 6 (21:07):
I mean, everybody asked me that question. Dollar, everybody asked
me that question. There is no balance for it. I
feel now that my kids are in college and they're
out of the house, I feel more. Actually it's harder
that but balance. There's balance at work, thinking about home, home,
thinking about work. But like I say, everything's a priority,
and for me, it's always been God, family than everything else.
(21:28):
So I make sure I get you know, my family,
and then everything else is after that.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
So yeah, that keeps me grand.
Speaker 5 (21:35):
That is you know what what's it like now being
that empty nester. I know this is a new chapter
in your life.
Speaker 6 (21:41):
Actually being an empty nester is a little bit harder
because when they were here at school, it's like I
knew exactly where they were at all times, and to me,
they're always my little babies. So now it's hard for
me because I don't know exactly.
Speaker 2 (21:54):
Where they are.
Speaker 6 (21:54):
You know what I'm saying, I worry more. I I
you know what I'm saying, And I know I'm a controlling,
probably overbearing mother, but I can't help you know what
I'm saying. With everything that's going on in the world today,
to me is harder for me. So it's you know,
it's really taking a toll. It's harder for me because
I want to know where my kids are.
Speaker 5 (22:08):
You know, absolutely, I get it.
Speaker 4 (22:10):
I'm a mama for it, and I totally understand adult
children are late. Sometimes you worry more when they're adults.
That's crazy to say, but to me, that's just how
it is, right m hm hm, Now care you just
talk about like the mad Yala, I know that's coming up.
What inspired you to launch this event and what can
the attendees suspect in July in atl Well.
Speaker 6 (22:31):
The mad Galla is something we've been doing for the
last three years and we wanted to be ongoing with medicine.
It's a way, you know, we have a lot of
drama on this a lot of shocking things, family issues
and all of that, but you want our show to
actually give back to the community. So we came up
with the mad Galla Doctor Jackie, myself and the Ladies
UH to give back to the community. The first time,
(22:52):
you know, we had it and it was a successful event.
The second time we gave it and we gave I
think one hundred thousand dollars for Cure for Moms through
our show. I mean, it's just good stuff that we
can get back to the community. This year, our goal
is to give a scholarship to somebody that's going to
medical school, dental school, something in the medical industry. And
(23:12):
we're actually having it on July twenty fifth. July twenty fifth,
so guys, make sure you check out our social media platforms.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
We will be posting on it and if you'd.
Speaker 6 (23:22):
Like to come, we'll have the event bright post it,
so just register to come and we'll get you there.
The location is to be determined, but make sure y'all
check it out. We're doing good stuff and we're giving
back scholarships this year to people want to go to
higher learning. Yeah not that.
Speaker 5 (23:37):
Yeah, that's amazing. But you know what, I will say,
you are never one to hold back on the show.
Can we back?
Speaker 2 (23:43):
I mean the Gallas.
Speaker 6 (23:45):
It's gonna be an amazing, amazing, amazing event. We're gonna have. Yeah,
we're gonna have entertainment. It's gonna be dramatic, you know,
Drama's gonna be there, of course, but more so, we're
gonna raise money for people that want scholarships to get
to school.
Speaker 5 (23:58):
I love that. I love that.
Speaker 4 (24:00):
Now, can you just talk about for those who admire
your drive and success, especially young women in the medicine
and business bild, what's one piece of advice can you
give back to, you know, people that are maybe.
Speaker 5 (24:12):
Experiencing that pressure when the pressure is.
Speaker 6 (24:14):
On, the one thing I can tell everybody is just
be yourself. You'd rather people love you for who you
are than who you're not, and never stop. I mean
a lot of people get close to their goals and
they give up because of whatever. And I love the
way Michelle Obama says, if you're in the room, you
have a right to be in that room, and don't
feel like you're less than at any time. And I
(24:35):
also like how the Great Maya Angelo, the Great Maya
Angelo says, when you come in a room and you're
the only black woman there, you're not alone. You came
with ten thousand of your ancestors. So that's what I
would tell people. Never feel like they don't have a
right to be their stand bold and if they're ever
trying to achieve some keep going till they get to
their goal.
Speaker 5 (24:53):
I love that.
Speaker 4 (24:53):
I love that, Doctor Hevlen, you are so amazing. I
am so inspired by you, and thank you again for
just teaming to be a strang advocate for black professionals
in a medical space. But most importantly, can you just
go ahead and plug in warmer time? How listeners can
purchase those tickets to the galla.
