We're only five months in and we're still in the
honeymoon stage, he said. Now, David and Hallie are both
fifty eight. They were married from nineteen thirty three to
nineteen ninety seven, and in their union, they did not
produce any children. Now this is where the clan gets
(16:26):
really interesting. Now. He claimed that he ended the marriage
because marry didn't cook. Clan or is if what he
considered nurturing are motherly qualities? Yeah, excuse you. Of course,
you know he has been dragged up and down social media,
so we don't need to do that right now. But

So let's dive into the latest from our Atlanta dream.
Now Atlanta sitskin Win Street came to an end in
Seattle as the dream fell to the storm. Eighty to
seventy eight. N A nail bider Ryan Howard made history
becoming the franchise all time leader in career three pointers
(18:23):
we have three hundred and twenty six, while also leading
the team with twenty one points. Alicia Gray reached a
huge milestone of her own, joining the exclusive four thousand
career point club, becoming just the twenty second player in
WNBA history to do so. Now. Breonna Jones kept her
strong season rolling with her tenth double double, and bj
(18:43):
Brittany Grinder added ten points in three blocks. Despite outscoring
Seattle in the four, Atlanta came up short. The Dream
will look to bounce back tonight when they faced the
Golden State Valkyries at ten o'clock PM at Chase Center.
Now off court, the Dream made some major front office moves,
announcing the hiring of Tracy Messier as Vice president of
(19:08):
Communication and It's sended affair now. Messire brings more than
twenty years of experience in public relations and sports media,
most recently with US Soccer. She will play a key
role in shaping the Dreams connection with fans, media, and
the community. Now listens where it's lovely. So we're moving
on to another topic at hand. May we speel about
(19:31):
yes icon legend Candis Parker now listen. Candace has talked
about this to a very you know, very interesting topic,
you know, and this is kind of something we should
all speak about. But here's the Dame Cannas Parker, you
know who she is. She used to find the era
of WNBA. Now earlier this year, she retired after sixteen
(19:54):
remarkable seasons and leaving high three WNBA championships, two MVPs,
seven All Star appearances. Now truly one of the all
time greats. Right for WNBA. Now listen, But here's the thing.
Here's something you might not know. Parker dominates dominants just
wasn't limited.
Speaker 3 (20:14):
To the WNBA.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
You know. From twenty ten to twenty fifteen she played
overseas in Russia for UMMC at Kerberg. But here's the thing,
winning five championships doing that's when and according to Parker,
the experience wasn't just about basketball, it was about a lifestyle. Now,
she said in Russia in quotes, in Russia, we had chefs,
(20:37):
we had amazing apartments, we had drivers, we flew charter,
we traveled around Europe as the number one team, and
we're compensated as such. My black diamonds are from Russia.
They were given to me as a birthday gift. My
daughter got black diamonds, I got a Rolette watch, and
Parker shared on.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
A post moves pots.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
Now here's the thing. In her words, she raised some
eye opening points.
Speaker 3 (21:05):
Right. While the WNBA may.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
Showcase the best women's basketball talent, Parkers expers is always
just kind of suggests that there's in terms of treatment
and perse the Russian League might actually be ahead of
the game. Now, look, this is very interesting, and we've
said this before. You know, there's always that issue of compensation.
(21:29):
You know, it does not equal to a big brother.
Speaker 3 (21:31):
But here's the thing.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
We will reach there. We're going there slowly, but surely,
hopefully we will get there.
Speaker 3 (21:39):
For our women, especially the women, it's worst.

A single basketball card featuring none other than m J
(23:57):
that's Michael Jerny and of course, Kobe Bryant is currently
sparking a bidding war that could top six million. No,
let's see that is correct. Now, according to TMZ Sports.
The card is the two thousand and seven two thousand
and eight upper Deck Exquisite Collection and featuring autographs from
both legends, including alongside that NBA logo path is Kobe's
(24:19):
with blue and white and red and MJ's and gold
and white. Now, as of Saturday morning, bits are just
over five million, but experts are expected it's a sore
pass six point one million in option. Now here's the thing, guys,
with Kobe's tragic passing in twenty twenty, it's said that
(24:41):
it's going to be one of a kind piece.
Speaker 3 (24:44):
The co signer even turned down multiple.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
Seven figure private offers because they believed it could set
a new world record when the hammer falling drops. So
if you got it's enough money, you know, some coins
to maybe beer six million just lying around under your
you know, Mattress's talking about this might be your shot
to own basketball history or at least brag about it,
(25:09):
you know, in the richest groups that you know, others
chat about that I don't even know about. So here's
the thing. Look, I think it's amazing. I don't know
about six million, But here's the thing. It's he's a legend,
you know, Unfortunately he's no longer with us, and the
thing about it, pieces of that sort does end up being,
(25:33):
you know, quite expensive. So yeah, I'm just like, I
can't level up, but if you can level up and flats,
go ahead. I'm not mad at you.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
And that is my estimate owned you moment for the week.

is my special guests. Stay tuned, will be bad. My
(26:28):
next guest is a compassionate creator from Texas who brings
vibrant characters and adventure stories to life his book Soco
the Flamingo with Tennis Shoes The Like Kids ages forty
eight with animal adventures and a touch of humor. Sports Lovelies,
please welcome Derek and Maria as too Chicks in a Sport. Derek,
congratulations on your debut. Now I just need to ask
(26:51):
you what inspired you to write Soco the Flamingo with
tennis shoes And how did this story come together?
Speaker 4 (26:58):
Well, that's a very interesting quequestion. But to answer it,
the story was born as a gift for my mother
in law and it was supposed to be a tribute,
and you know, for her birthday, I wanted to get
her something special, and you know, I wanted to say, well,
let me just write her a story I've been writing
for many years, and she knew, she knows I write,
so it was something I wanted to put together. The
(27:21):
tennishoe component from it came from my husband loves tenny shoes.
He says, this excellent shoe game, and so I figured, okay,
if it's a story for her who loves flamingos, I
knew I wanted to have a flamingo, and then secondly
to kind of put into it character and components of
the family. I had my mom who loves marshmallows, and
(27:43):
my husband who loves tennis shoes. So that's how the
idea came together. Conceptually, I wanted to write a story
about a flamingo who wore tenny shoes.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
Oh my gosh, that is so adorable. But most importantly,
Saga is just a unique character. And tell me just again,
why a flamingo? And of course you taught us about
the tennis shoes, but what is the message or things
were important for you to share through this story?
Speaker 4 (28:09):
So first, sneakers, you know, as a symbol. My husband
wears them, not as decoration but almost sometimes as a declaration.
And so I like the Tenning shoe of symbol, how
it symbolizes like contemporary self expression. So I wanted to
make sure that the Tenning shoes were important, and the
(28:29):
flamingo was because it's a quirky bird, and I figured,
you know, and since I wanted to write a story
about something that I knew something because I'm kind of
represented as Saco when I think about my childhood and
my learning experiences, what better way to kind of explore
(28:50):
this concept with a bird. It's already kind of awkward
and often misunderstood and unique, very unique. And I wanted
to write a story celebrating my mother in law first
with her love of flamingos, my husband and his love
of tennis shoes, and then myself, you know, my love
of my uniqueness. So what better way to kind of
put a story together. So that's how it all came,
(29:12):
you know through conceptually.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
Oh my gosh, that is so amazing. But I'm looking
here at just kind of your story and your background.
So before becoming an Arthur, you worked in finance. Now
that's quite a leap O. Can you share what motivated
you to transition into children literature?
Speaker 4 (29:33):
Yes, so I want to you know, first, you know,
clarify that I was a writer before I went into finance,
but finance happened, you know, from my education, I wrote
for myself personally, and it wasn't until a friend of
mine who was going through some personal trauma. I guess
(29:55):
she really lost a really close friend who was close
to her. She came to visit me and I to
tell that she was off. So I let her read,
you know, a story that I thought would help her,
and it did, and she was so impressed with my writing.
I mean, everybody knew I wrote, but I guess how
well I wrote, you know that it was so layered
and you know what she got from the story. So
she was the one encouraged me to publish. And so
(30:19):
since I had already written this story as a gift
for my mother in law, I figured Okay, Well, since
this one was already written to share, I figured, okay,
let's go ahead and and share this story. So this
was the first introduction, you know, that I've had with
my writing to the world, and I want to say
it's been very liberating. Right in finance, Yeah, in finance,
(30:40):
there's a lot of structure and strategy, and so that
was like my whole professional world, you know, Creativitally, I
think creativity is more you know, survival. It's it's not
a luxury, it's more of a survival instinct. And so
being able to now focus on my creative aspect, it's
been so liberating to have this book come out.
Speaker 2 (31:02):
Now I'm like, what else do I want to share?
What's my next story going to be?
Speaker 4 (31:06):
And so I feel very liberated, you know, going through
this process that I'm really enjoying.
Speaker 3 (31:12):
That is amazing.
Speaker 1 (31:13):
Now, you know what you did mention a passion for
bringing joy to others, especially children. How do you hope
SOCCO connects with young readers and the adults who read them.
Speaker 4 (31:24):
Well, you know, stories can be gives, right, and I
hope that my readers can take away a couple of things.
One that Soaco strets for anyone who's felt too bright
for room and chose not to din right. I want
to remind children or parents that weirdness, softness, and visibility
(31:46):
deserves celebration. So we need to embrace, you know, our uniqueness,
embrace our individuality because the world needs more of that, right,
we need more sparkle in the room. So I think Soaco,
you know, stands for a lot of people who've kind
of felt out of place. I had to carve a
(32:07):
space out where there was none originally. So that's what
I hope they get from it, as well as it's
just a fun story, and it's very layered, so subject
to interpretation, you know, if you don't get anything from
it other than hey, it's fun and engaging and it
was cute, more power to you. But I feel like
there's more to it that can be implied, you know,
(32:28):
and I try not to underestimate the power of you know,
the the mentality of young children. I don't want to
you know, say that you know, they know what they're reading.
So I kind of figured it, you know, let's be
a beacon or hero for them.
Speaker 1 (32:45):
Absolutely absolutely. So my questure to you now is just
what's next for you? Can readers look forward to more
adventures from Socco or maybe some new characters.
Speaker 4 (32:56):
Yes, absolutely, I do have another book and production. It's
called Genevieve, the Fairy Chef and the Magic Cookbook, and
that's just it was just a fun story for my
love of cooking, and it's just about a young fairy
who wants to be a really great chef and she
doesn't really get there until she meets this magic cookbook
(33:16):
that she finds in her attic.
Speaker 2 (33:18):
So that's next.
Speaker 4 (33:20):
And I'm also in the process of creating a universe
of Socco, if you will, with other characters, you know,
being introduced, so a lot of storytelling that I'm hoping
kind of acts as mentorship, you know, for young minds
and readers.
Speaker 1 (33:39):
So, oh my gosh, this is so exciting. But you
know what, Dari, I definitely want you to go ahead
and implug in. How can we find out more information
on purchasing your book and also your social media page
so we can definitely stay up to date on everything

Speaker 1 (35:06):
It's twenty twenty five. Newness continues to be all around.
I have always said I am the Queen of elves
taken l's lacking, right, I swear if there was any
such person, I am she and she is not. But listen,
(35:27):
in all fairness, I can say the same about winning right.
I've had some major wins throughout my life, which has
always been my motivation to keep pushing for it. So
if you ever find yourself feeling like me, remember an
l it's just an ois shape w And it's all
about your mindset, okay. But most importantly, sometimes you have
(35:49):
to just lose to win in the game of life. Remember,
dreams don't come try until you do what you wake
up and do the work that you never need the same, okay,
