and that is to do what talk sports. Yes, let's
get into it. The Atlanta Falcons, Yes, our dirty birds.
They're hitting the road this weekend, heading two Minneapolis for
week two. Now, look, all I said can say, it's

(02:46):
just heartbreaking. Okay, I know, I know, I know all
the fans saw it. It was a truly a heartbreaker
on last Sunday, and I'll rick back. Let's start there.
Michael Pennett Junior nearly pulled off a miracle last week,
driving Atlanta into the field goal range in the final seconds.

(03:09):
But Coop forty four, you are attempt cut right right, yes,
right right, keeping the dirty Birds from starting one and zero. Now, look,
the team can bounce back, of course they can Sunday
September fourteenth, when they will face the Vikings. And look,

(03:34):
they have to regroup after that devastating twenty three to
twenty lost heartbreaker against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We have
no choice. You know, the injury report is out. What
I see could be a possibility as Drake London, Darnelle
Mooney and Ricky cornerback Billy Bowman, we're all full participant

(03:55):
on Friday, while safety de Marcole Helms and at rusher
James Pierce Junior all questionable and who's going to be
out for Sunday Jamal Agnew, Jordan Fuller and Jack Nelson
and Casey Washington. But here's the thing, Atlanta, the formula
is clear. Lean on Beijing Robinson, who posted one hundred

(04:17):
and twenty four scrimmage yards in week one, and keep
Pennants comfortable as he continues to look ahead of the
curve in his young career. Now, defensively, the Falcons will
try to replicate their heart hot hots start from last
week where they forced back to back three and outs
for the first time in the a season are opened

(04:37):
since twenty fifteen. Now bouncing back, that is to go
Falcons versus the Vikings Tomorrow. Kickoff is at one o'clock.

Now here's the thing, guys, we gotta kind of swap
out the hardwood for the pitch because we got to

(07:56):
talk about our Atlanta United news because our five Shirts
is finally filling on the road. The Five Stripes. Theys
finally snacked their first away win of the season on
Saturday night, beating Nashville sc One and oh now the
difference maker was Ronald Hernandez. Yes, they had her in
the twenty fifth of a perfect Stephen Alzac cross and

(08:18):
from there it was all Jada Hibbit. The nineteen year
old Ricky made seven clutch staves, stretched his shout out
street to two hundred and two minutes, and now back
to back clean sheets, unbeating in his first three starts,
and yeah, he is on fire. Now Atlanta snapped their
road woes and now head home today carrying on that

determination to keep the streak alife against one of the
East toughest squads. Now, look, we're back in action today
and if they play late the day in Nashville, this
could be a real interesting game. So look, very interesting match.

volleyball fans, because big news from the A. The Vibe

(10:59):
are making waves in the twenty twenty six free agency,
resigning three of their biggest stars, Lea Edmund, Corey Lewis,
and Aco Jones. Now Edmond is fresh off that first
team All league season, Lewis last year's Ricky of the Year,
in Jones the versatile opposite hitter, and they're all returning
to anchor Atlanta's championship push. But that's not all, because

(11:21):
the Pro Volleyball Federation and Major League Volleyball are going
to be merging into one unified league now officially calling
it Major League Volleyball or MLV. That's going to mark
the longest running pro women's volleyball league in US history,
with independently owned teams, modern governors, and of course, fresh
approach for fans and players alike. Now the league has

(11:44):
already made a huge splash over eighty million social impressions,
two hundred and fifty thousand followers, and nearly seven hundred
and fifty thousand fans at live games. And get this,
the Atlanta's Star Match on CBS, it drew four hundred
and forty five thousand viewers. Now MLB officially launches' third

It Savid Vibe First, Lovely sticking around after the break,
we're spelling sports ten hundred and a fourth quarter comeback
featuring a quarterback who publicly put his wife on the
spot with one very public question. So don't you blink,

(12:54):
because we'll be bad. I right, I rates for lovely.

(13:15):
Welcome bag up on back, So grab your teacups Okay,
here's the thing. Uh that quarterback where you're speaking about
Russell Wilson. Yeah, he's at it again. The quarterback put
his wife Sierra on the spot doing a promo event
for her new album CC, publicly asking her when baby

(13:36):
number five is coming Now doing a firesight chat at
the Grammy Museum, Russell raised his hand from the audience
and said he loves her video riding. Chicily asked, speaking
of writing, when is sinko gummy Sierra, who turned forty
next month, She just politely replied, baby. That is such

(13:57):
a private conversation. The couple has been married nine years,
sharing three children together, plus Sierra's eldest son with rapper
Future Now. Fans, of course, set the Internet on fire
by dragging Russell online for repeatly bringing up babies at
Sierra's work events.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
Call it insensitive and off putting. Some are you four
kids is enough?

Speaker 3 (14:21):
And others know that she's not an Ovens, She's a
bit Nifs woman. But here's the tea. At the end
of the day, Russell is Sierra's husband, and Sierra it's
Russell's wife, and they can talk about whatever they want.
Everyone else can sit in the back of the bus.
I'm sorry, stop the hating. If they want to talk

(14:42):
about their babies, let them do it. It's not for
us to say if it's off putting or what they
are having fun. This is what sometimes married people do.
They have awkward moments and that's so y'all need to
just stop hating. I'm speaking from experience, Stop hating and
let the couple just handle their business. Now. That is

(15:03):
our sports tea for the week.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
Coming up after the break is my WNBA, So stay tuned.

the best win percentage in team history, and rolled into

this is going to be Atlanta's first playoff game since

Caitlin Clark and several other key contributors due to injuries,
the dream have a golden opportunity to win their first
multi game playoff series since twenty thirteen. Now here's the thing.

and now it's time to chase the ultimate goal, a championship.

(17:25):
But here's the thing, Atlanta Dream Fans twenty twenty five
has been so historic and it just keeps getting better.
The Associated Press they just drop its WNBA awards, and
two of our stars are making history. Yes Ford nos
Hillman to Home six Player of the Year, the first

(17:46):
Dream ever to earn it, while guard Alicia Gray earned
a spot in AP First Team, becoming just the second
player in franchise history.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
To do so.

Speaker 3 (17:55):
Now Hillman was unstoppable this season, right, averaging eight point
seven points, six point two rebounds, fifty three threes, and
one hundred and fifty one consecutive games played, a new
franchise record. Now Gray she cemented herself as one of
the league's elite with eighteen point three points per game,

(18:16):
over four thousand career points, ninety eight threes, and the
Dream all time single season scoring record. And let's not
forget our girl, Ryan Howard. She's your WNBA Eastern Conference
Playoff Player of the Week for September the first through

(18:37):
the eleventh. Now Listen, averaging twenty two point four points,
four point eight sis, and four point four rebounds while
shooting fifty percent from the field and forty two percent
from deep her week, including eight thirty seven point explosion
against the Sparks, making her the first player in WNBA
history with multiple games of nine three pointers. Now, dream fans,

(18:59):
this tree is lining up the A, shattering records and
heading into the playoffs ready to make history. Buckle up.
The postseason just got even brighter. But here's the things
for its lovelies. Before we end you know our WNBA news,
this week, we all talk a little bit about you
know another team sports fans, the Chicago Sky. Their season

(19:21):
wrapped up on Thursday night. But here's the thing. All
eyes were on second year star Angel Reese, who her
fourth straight game. She's missed four straight games. So Reese's
absence started with a suspension for comments she made during
the last mandated media session, then a coach's decision, and

(19:43):
finally two games sidelined by a back injury. Now last week,
Reese voiced her frustration to the Chicago Tribune, saying that
she might have to move in a different direction if
the team didn't make changes. But during the Sky's exit interview,
on Friday, their GM TOE reporters the team has moved

(20:05):
on from the situation. Reese also spoke to her teammates
about her comments, and it appears that the speculation that
she's leaving Chicago may be off the mark for now,
at least for Angel. So hopefully we will see her
back next season in Chicago. But if she don't, hey,
we once had an Angel and we can always take

(20:27):
another one, you know, so come on down today. But
that's neither here or there. We're gonna focus on the
playoffs for Irelanta Dream too. Let's go, Dream, Let's Go.

(24:02):
next guest is the founder of Financial Revolution, a platform
that's changing the game for young people learning about money.
She's an award winning entrepreneur who's been recognized by Black
Enterprise as HBCU Entrepreneur of the year. Sports lovelies, please
give a warm welcome to Aliada to chicks in.

Speaker 1 (24:21):
The sport Aliah. Thank you so much for chatting with
me today. But you describe yourself as the Earn your
Leisure of the younger generation. What does that comparison means
to you and how do you want to expand on
just their legacy?

Speaker 6 (24:40):
Yeah, I believe that. You know, it's super important for
us to pass down what we're learning from other generations
and Earn your Leisure has definitely started the financial revolution
and been able to make financial literacy relatable and cool
and a topic that us as black people want to
hear and learn about. But what I noticed is that

(25:01):
I myself as a twenty two year old, I learned
about and discovered Earn your Legion when I was seventeen, sixteen,
seventeen years old, and a lot of my peers they
don't necessarily relate or connect directly to Earn your Legion
because there still is some type of demographic difference. So
I was like, Okay, what if I could get the

(25:22):
information at and what I'm learning from Earn your Leisure
and other people such as Wall Street Trapper and all
these other you know people in an older generation who
are just passing down so much wisdom to myself and
to my peers, but make it relatable for my peers.
And that's when I was like, I knew that I'll
be able to really have that competitive advantage in that

(25:42):
edge for my generation to make sure that they get
the access to the information that they need.

Speaker 5 (25:47):
I love that. I love that.

Speaker 1 (25:48):
Now, can you talk about just your HBC experience and
how it just shaped your entrepreneurial journey and of course
influenced the creation of Financial Revolution.

Speaker 6 (25:59):
Yeah, for sure. When I was I started Financial Revolution
when I was seventeen years old at Virginia State University.
At the time, I was super passionate about everything that
I was learning. I was like, hey, I actually really
truly wanted to drop out because in my mind, I'm like, you, look,
they're giving me only student loans, but I could do
business loan and I could do this, this and that. Like,

(26:20):
I was just learning so much and I was just
my mindset was shifting. But then at the time, I
was a sophomore and one of my mentors told me
it was like a Leah, if you can do it
while you in college, don't think that you're going to
drop out and be able to figure it out. And
he also explained to me, like everyone that you want
to help is on your campus right now, do you?

(26:42):
And it was just like, you know how hard it
is to get access to your audience. If you drop out,
you're gonna have to leave school. Then you're gonna have
to find an audience. You're gonna have to find people
to talk to, and things like that. He was like,
if you can turn your campus into your workplace, into
your demos, into the people that you serve, into the
people that you help, into the people you help get

(27:03):
a financial revolution, then you're doing it and you're building
something and now you're establishing a real thing. So my
HBCU campus helped me tremendously, Like they were my number
one supporters, the first people to support me, and even
to this day, a lot of the connections that I
have and the people that I took to are from
my peers that I got from Virginia State University.

Speaker 1 (27:26):
Awesome also, But I guess, even if you talk about
just your entrepreneurial journey, can you just talk a little
bit about just the unique challenges that you may have
face just being a young black woman leading in the
finance space, and I guess just talk about how do
you navigate those challenges?

Speaker 6 (27:45):
Well, I think one of the biggest challenges that I
had was really me and my mindset, right, because I
believe when you're young, especially in this generation, you know,
it's so much going on on social media, right, It's
like every you open up your phone is like you're
seeing what you should be doing better, You're seeing what
you should be looking like, You're seeing like it's just

(28:08):
like every time you're you open up your phone, it
feels like you're battling against something. And it was at
a point in my life where I had to become
so secure with myself and my capabilities and what I
could bring to the table that I couldn't allow what
I was seeing on social media and what my friends
were indulging in it. I couldn't allow that to distract
me or stop me from my calling. And I think

(28:29):
that was a big issue for me because you know,
growing up in a place like New York City, attending
the HBCU and things like that, it's like you could
be very impressionable when you're young, and at the time
when I was building very first, starting to build financial revolution.
A lot of my parents were skimming, like they were
making thousands of dollars like in a day, like you know,

(28:50):
so as a young kid is like dang, Like I'm
over here trying to build this business teaching people how
to invest through X, Y and Z. But my peers
to the left of me, they and everything I'm saying,
but faster, exactly right, and it got this.

Speaker 3 (29:05):
They got that.

Speaker 6 (29:06):
So it started to become a thing where you had
to be so focused and locked in on my vision
and my calling that I couldn't let anything distract me.
And I'm able to see that payoff in real time
right now because some of my same peers who are
doing that now they asked me for advice, right because
I'm able to, you know, stick into something and stick

(29:27):
with something and be consistent.

Speaker 5 (29:29):
Right.

Speaker 6 (29:29):
All the quick money didn't really last, you know fact,
but at the time, when you're young, you're not thinking
about that, you know, You're just thinking about what's going
on right now in the moment. So I would say
that was really like the hardest part in the beginning
of my journey, and what I would tell any young
adult or anybody is like, just stay focused on your calling.
Like things may seem like this is cool right now,

(29:51):
everybody doing this right now, But do what you're called
to do. Stay consistent, and you're going to reap the
benefits of doing that.

Speaker 5 (30:01):
Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
But just talk a little bit about just community and
culture as well. And now that plays a major role
in our community. So how do you just, I guess,
approach financial education for our community?

Speaker 6 (30:15):
Yeah, for sure. I mean I think it's super important
to meet people where they are. A lot of times,
I believe that financial literacy and just you know, important
conversations that we need to have in our communities are
never had is because we're speaking above people and over people,
rather than speaking with them, rather than meeting where they
meeting them where they are, rather than you know, getting

(30:37):
them to understand why they need to understand financial literacy,
getting them to understand why they may have a generational
curse of making poor financial decisions and not knowing how
to do X, Y and Z.

Speaker 3 (30:51):
Right.

Speaker 6 (30:51):
So I believe that just building that community where people
feel safe to talk about those topics to be vulnerable,
because talking about money is a vulnerable conversation, right, and
it takes you it takes someone to feel comfortable to
open up to say hey, this is these are some
of the financial issues that I'm battling, and this is
what I need help with. That's to say you need

(31:12):
help is a vulnerable thing, and I believe that a
lot of times we're just speaking above people, and that's
why people never want to open up to build community
and to be a part of a community, because they
feel like they're going to be judged. So it was
super important that as I was building financial revolution, I
created a space where people feel like they can come
to me to talk about their finances, They can come

(31:34):
to me to share what they want to learn, and
I could just share with them, like the access to
the information that I have and how I can help
them and how I can system without necessarily judging them
for where they are.

Speaker 5 (31:45):
Absolutely Now, listen, you have a game show. Yes, okay,
look here, what advice would you give to just entrepreneurs
or young entrepreneurs as well.

Speaker 6 (31:58):
We're just looking to.

Speaker 1 (31:59):
Pitch innovative ideas like your game show, just to major
networks and investors in shit, tell us a little bit
about the game show as well.

Speaker 6 (32:08):
Yeah, for sure. So I'm still in the process of
building it and everything like that. I've done like little
mock versions of it. But the game show is called
the Broken Brilliant Game Show and it's a live game
show based off of my actual card game called Broken Brilliant,
And it started off of when I created this trivia
game where and it was actually a financial literacy drinking

(32:29):
game called Broken Brilliant, And basically I'll ask people financial questions.
It could be questions like what's a raw ira, what's
the difference between net and gross income? What's Apple's ticker
symbol on the stock market? And people have so much
fun playing because I had so many different elements of
the game, and then they were learning while they were playing.

(32:49):
And I was like, this would be super dope as
a game show. And I was like, what if I
had like a Jeopardy wilding out and all mixed in one,
but all based off of content about finance, literacy, politics,
and relationships, the top three things that kind of rule
the world, right and super controversial topics. Right, gets people talking,

(33:13):
it helps people learn and also brings people together. Right.
So with the game show, I can have different Divine
nine organizations going against each other. I can have different
HBCU campuses going against each other like a moor house
versus a hazard, right, but not for sports. We always
come together for them to talk about, you know, sports
and see sports. But we can make this conversation also

(33:33):
about finance, you know, and politics, right, things that really
is controlling the world. And when it comes to just
kind of pitching the people is you can't be afraid
of your idea and you can't be afraid of no
as well. Right, you have to believe in your idea
so much that you know what you see the worth
before other people see the worth, see it's worth and

(33:54):
see its value. I always like to tell people like,
don't wait to the world or anybody or network or
a person puts a stamp on your name to believe
that you're great. You already got to kind of have
that in you, Right. You gotta know you're great because
how you move, how you talk, how you do things,
how you go about things, it's going to show. Your

(34:15):
greatness is gonna show. But if you're waiting for somebody
to put a stamp on your product, your game, show
your idea, your innovation, then they gonna know you just
chasing them. So it's just super important to just have
have belief and what it is that you're building.

Speaker 1 (34:30):
Absolutely, Elia, It's such an amazing time to chat with you.
Look at this time, I'm looking at you like, is
she really in her twenties or is she thirty?

Speaker 5 (34:42):
You are so wise and.

Speaker 1 (34:44):
Most importantly, I know that we spoke a little bit
about just the finance side and sports. This is a
sports show and again finances they're intertwined in to the
sports world. My question to you, though, do you have
a particular sports team that you wrote that you're going
to ride for.

Speaker 5 (35:02):
Do you have any special team you like the shoutout?

Speaker 6 (35:05):
Well, I actually played basketball growing up, my whole entire life,
my whole entire life. I stopped watching the NBA after Wholos.
I think it was some team lost in the finals
and I was just so upset.

Speaker 5 (35:22):
I took it apart from me.

Speaker 2 (35:23):
I was so upset.

Speaker 6 (35:24):
But right now with sports team, I don't necessarily have
a sports team, but I would say that I really
do respect and like Lebron James as a as a
basketball player and just all he stands for because he
really shows, like, you know, kind of like the family aspect.
Then the beyond the just sports aspect and also as

(35:45):
a business person, just looking into his portfolio seeing that,
like he's the first NBA player to be an active
player to become a billionaire and exactly, you know, I
just tell my students all the time that he's not
a billionaire because he knows how to bounce the ball, right.
He's a billionaire because he has wise people around him, right,
because he knows how to make smart financial decisions and

(36:08):
put his money into the right places. Right. So a
lot of times is what you're doing off the court
that really makes you who you are. Right, what you
do on the court is like, yeah, you're giving talent
the work that you put in, but it's it's off
the court that matters.

Speaker 5 (36:23):
Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (36:23):
Oh got Leah, you are so wise again, I am
take it back, Like who is this lady?

Speaker 2 (36:31):
Like what? Thank you?

Speaker 6 (36:33):
I appreciate that?

Speaker 5 (36:35):
No, no, thank you for chatting with me.

Speaker 1 (36:37):
What had it play in your social media's pages? So
we can follow you and make sure that we continue
to follow you and learn more about just financial stability
and our financial wealth moving on forward?

Speaker 6 (36:50):
Yes, for sure. So you can follow me at Financial
Revolution on all platforms. So it's Financial Revolution, I do
have two ends at the at the end the revolution,
I'm on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and all major you know
social media platforms.

Speaker 2 (37:07):
Perfect.

Speaker 1 (37:08):
Thank you again, Alia, Look listen, you have taught me
some things. I'm just again, I am amazed. How or
I guess my question to you, who was your inspiration?
Just kind of I guess maybe triggering you to go
into the finance world.

Speaker 6 (37:24):
I believe it's a multitude of things, right, I always
get this question, like you're so young, who inspired? But
I would I would say I generally just think it's
a multiple multitude of things in people. I believe there
was a lot of different seeds planted in me growing up.
And I always like to say, like the day you

(37:44):
eat the day you plant the seed is not the
day you eat the fruit. And I feel like one day,
like my plant in my and my fruit just kind
of just and it's still growing. But one thing, everything
just came all together. So I have to always think
like my parents, my and my dad, right, who are
both entrepreneurs and definitely gave me that entrepreneur you know,

(38:05):
spirit and hustle definitely always shout out to like earn
your leisure, you know, they showed me like where you
can take it, you know what's needed and how you
can take things. And just so multitude is just different
mentors that have always, you know, just planted different things
than me, my basketball coaches. Like, it's so much that
I've learned from sports and just sports that I implement

(38:28):
in my business today. So I can't I can't pinpoint
one moment, one thing, like it's really a hope a
series of different things.

Speaker 5 (38:37):
Oh my gosh, Eli, are you so amazing?

Speaker 1 (38:39):
Like what.

Speaker 5 (38:41):
It's again? One more time?

Speaker 1 (38:44):

Speaker 5 (38:47):

taken ls laughing right, I swear if there was any

(39:35):
in all fairness, I can say the same about winning. Right.
I've had some major wins around my life, which has
always been my motivation to keep pushing for it.
