Yes, the Atlanta Falcons rolled into Minnesota and rolled out
with a twenty two and six win, fueled by a
defense that flat out smothered the Vikings six acts, four takeaways,
and just one hundred and ninety eight yards allowed. That
is a story and it says the tone for a
much needed bounce back. But the biggest storyline the Falcons
made a change. Ad kicker. Yes, Atlanta has released long
(03:30):
time that yahweh coup after his heartbreaking forty four yard
or mischigus Tampa Bay on September seventh, and the final
seconds that could have forced overtime. Now the team has
handed the job to Parker Romo, a p Street, ced.

(05:52):
Just like Trey styleth will fire back with a twelve
minute clap back of his own, point out Beverly's only
made one conference final, same as him, despite playing alongside
superstars and never carrying a franchise himself. No Young made
it clear the numbers speak for themselves and he's not

(07:08):
Almaron the first half in it went in zero. Now
the second half, so Atlanta turned up heat with Jada
heybrid made some key safes, but in the sixty first
minute Miguel Almorn calmly converted a kemby to tie it
one in one. The final minutes were just full of drama,
blot shots, free kicks and fierce defensive plays from Solenna

back sports celevelies. It's that time, w NBA News. Sports lovelies.
What a roller coaster of emotions Thursday night as Atlanta
Dream playoff run came to a heartbreaking in following eighty
seven to eighty five to the Indiana Fever in a
thriller Now, the Dream came out hot where it Bianna
Jones and Ryan Howard leading the charge, and by the
(15:41):
third quarter Atlanta had a seventy three to sixty nine lead.
With just over two minutes left, Howard drove a massive
three to put the Dream up eighty five to eighty.
The crowd was rocking, but the Fever rallied behind Kelsey
Mitchell and Aliah Boston and when Brehanna Jones last second
three rimmed out, the Dream season was over.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
But here's the thing.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Made no mistakes. The season was a massive leap for Atlanta,
returned to the playoffs, set a franchise record with thirty wins,
and so it starts shine on national stage. Now, Nole's
Hillman just made history as the key AWNBA six Player
of the Year, the first in Dream history after a
breakout season.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
Off the bench.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
And of course Alicia Gray, She's officially a finalist for
the Least MVP.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
Award after averaging career best.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
Eighteen point four points and leading the Dreams offensive resurgence.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
Now here's the thing.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
So yes, the playoff run ended sooner than Atlanta wanted,
but the foundation is said, the stars are rising and
the dream are built. Four big things I have. But
here's what I want to say. Whatever I'll ride has
been in the WNBA playoffs and now the semi finals
are here. The field down to four is going to be.
(16:55):
It's gonna be the Links versus Mercury and Aces. Versus
Fever in the WNBA Final four.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
Both series tip off Sunday.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
The top seeded at Links host Phoenix, while the defending
champion Aces opened against Indiana.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
Now. The first four rounds was pure chaos.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
Three of four series went the distance. The shorthanded Indiana
Fever pulled off the biggest upset and knocking out the
third seeded Dream Our team on their home Florida. Aces
had a battle two outlast a Seattle and a nail
lighting game three after their seventeen game.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
Winning Street snapped in game two.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
Now Phoenix shot the defending Chaps New York Liberty, bouncing them.
Despite dropping the series opener in overtime, Now the Links
they were the only squad to handle business into swooping
Golden State with ease. Now Minnesota now looks to capture
its fifth championship and first since twenty seventeen, with home
court advantage all the way through. The series are going
(17:53):
to be the best of five, and for the first
time ever, the finals will be the best of seven.
Speaker 2 (17:57):
So buckle up.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
The WNBA playoff just leveled up, so make sure you

(18:58):
everywhere you get your podcast, don't you go nowhere because
spiritts lovel is coming up out the break. It's my
esmateh O G moment. What was so elstdi A showdown
in a just got rerouted. I'm breaking down the drama
of the controversy and what somebody say We're taking ls
in a A this week.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
But don't you go nowhere?
Speaker 1 (19:20):
We'll be.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
What O my god? Oh no she didn't.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
Oh no she didn't.
Speaker 2 (19:43):
Oh oh no, that's what for journey.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
Welcome back, Welcome back to sports lovelies. My estimates O G.
Moment is upon us and all right, so brace yourself
for today's smh og moment. Jake Paul versus Javonte Davis
showdown just got rerouted. What was supposed to go down
in the A on November fourteen has now been moved
to my ANA after the Georgia Athletic Entertainment Commission said
(20:15):
nope to sanctioning the fight.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
Now you may ask why, Well.
Speaker 1 (20:21):
The weightcap Jake Paul is a cruiserweight, Javonte Davis is
a lightweight champ, and the GAEC was not about to
rubberstamp that mismatch. Now Paul's camp we tried to get
creative with the waiver request, but when that got shut down,
Most Valuable Promotion pulled the plug on the A altogether.
(20:44):
So instead of the ATL fight night belonging to us
the AM, the fight now goes to South Beach. Now
net Fitflip still has the live stream, and let's be
real Jake Paul versus Tate Davis in Miami. That's about
as Florida as it's gonna get. But here's the thing.
From Atlanta to Miami, the fight already threw its first
(21:06):
punch and it landed on the map. The promised knockouts
in atl is now a knockout in location. I guess
the statement is shrewd. You win some, you lose some,
So would even say, you know, we're taking Al's left
and right this week as the dream falls short to
the Fever in the first round of the playoffs. And
now what was an anticipated fights no longer happening in
(21:30):
my city, but now it's going down in Gatortown, Florida.
But that's okay. You win some, you lose some, And
that is my SMH ONNG moment for the week. Be
sure to check out TIS in the Sports for further
sports and it's falls on the face with Twitter or
to ask whatever they're calling these days and hit us
up on the ground.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
And if you're listening.

and postpartum sports and lovelies. Please welcome doctor emone jruary
offecially known as doctor e J Too, Chicks and a sports.
Speaker 2 (22:41):
Welcome today.
Speaker 3 (22:44):
I'm well, how about yourself.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
I'm doing wonderful and I have a few questions, but
I definitely wanted to again just thank you for coming
on and this is an amazing time to speak to you.
But I definitely wanted to ask you what inspired you
to become a doctor and focus on women's health.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
That is a common question. It seems so twofold, right.
Speaker 4 (23:12):
It was my grandmother, my dad's mom had fourteen children,
and when I was fourteen, she became very ill. And
at the same time, my stepmother became pregnant with my
youngest sister. So in that critical time, I watched my
stepmother's body change. And this is when I'm starting to
(23:35):
learn more about the women's body. And at the same time,
my grandmother, who had given life to fourteen individuals, I
watched her body deteriorate and I watched my aunt to
take care of her, and so it had such a
lasting effect on me that I wanted to specifically become
an OBGYN because any doctor who could take care of
(23:55):
a woman during the various phases of life, and not
just that be able to do surgery, deliver babies, but
also treat chronic health issues. It was just everything that
I wanted and needed because my foundation was always health
and wellness due to my upbringing with my dad his
focus being health and wellness. And so it was the twofold,
(24:19):
my youngest sister being born, and also my grandmother had
given life to so many individuals, to see her body
change and deteriorate. I really it was at that moment
that I said, it's time and to decide on what
I want to do, and I want to be an
OBGI in specifically.
Speaker 2 (24:38):
Ah, that is so inspiring. Oh my goodness. But most importantly,
you know.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
Just for the mommies to be that are listening right now,
what is the most important thing they should know just
about pregnancy?
Speaker 3 (24:52):
Sure, education, education, education.
Speaker 4 (24:57):
Oftentimes we think that pregnancy is one of the those
things where we can eat what we want, we can
do what we want. But it's important to educate yourself
on how to success set yourself up for successful pregnancy
because many complications oftentimes start well before pregnancy. This is
our diet, this is you know, our blood pressure, chronic
(25:17):
issues that we may have. As you know, many women
are waiting later to conceive, and so as you wait
later to conceive, now you're running the risk of having
a chronic health issue. And so you want to make
sure that you're setting yourself up for success pre pregnancy
through education and lifestyle changes. And also the thing that
I see is lack of knowledge in the labor room.
(25:38):
So the labor room is not the time to really
start learning a whole lot. You should have a general
understanding of labor, preparing yourself, making sure that you're exercise
and doing pelvic floor work so that you are and
also working on your breathing so that you can push.
And I see so many women that sometimes there are
exhausted from pushing, even if it's only just twenty minutes,
(26:00):
because of lifestyle choices that they've made pre pregnancy, enduring
pregnancy where they're just not not athletic, or have not
worked out, or havn't focused in on learning how to
breathe simply as breathing properly, right.
Speaker 3 (26:15):
So I think that a lot of times what we.
Speaker 4 (26:17):
Can do for pregnancy is to educate ourselves as much
as possible, and then also come into the not just
the delivery room, but come into.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
The office educator, so that you can have an educated
discussion with your doctor.
Speaker 2 (26:31):
I love that. I love that. And let's talk about
some myths as well.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
What are just some common myths about childbirth and or
motherhood that you just would like to clear up.
Speaker 4 (26:42):
One of the things is that most people think that
once you get to the labor room that all of
the hard work has done.
Speaker 3 (26:51):
That's not the case. That's right, That's not the case
at all, we think.
Speaker 4 (26:56):
You know, I see a lot of people that are
coming in for to have their baby or reportinguction of
labor and they're like, oh, I'm having my baby today. No,
you may not, because labor take times. So I think
it's important that we understand that you're educated as it
pertains to the labor side of things, and therefore you
won't have any surprises, and also that the work is
(27:17):
not just done when you're nine months or forty weeks pregnant.
There's more work that has to be done inside the
labor room, and that's one of the most difficult times.
So it's important that you're educating yourself and having doctors
on what to expect during that process as well, because
the hard work is not done the carrying the baby,
and many times is the easiest part, but when it
comes to the delivery of the child, I think it's
important for women to understand that that's the part that
(27:40):
we want you to really focus in on and have
some type of education and ask us the questions.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
Absolutely, and let's talk that just about just after having
that beautiful, healthy baby, What are just some warning signs
that maybe women or their family members can look out
for after birth.
Speaker 4 (28:01):
This is a fantastic question. This is a topic that
I really focus in on in my book and also
a lot of programs that I built out in the
past and downloadable guys, especially for men to work to
look for.
Speaker 3 (28:15):
One of the things is pre eclamsia.
Speaker 4 (28:17):
Many people think that pre eclamsia is isolated to pregnancy,
that is not the case. You can develop postpartum preclamsia
up to twelve weeks postpartum. So some of the signs
that you want to look out for is if women
are complaining of what we call right upper quadrupanes are
over the liver. This is just underneath the ribs on
the right side. These are signs that you may have
(28:38):
preeclamsia because your liver can be effected during that time.
If you have swelling in the face many times you
know obviously the face of changes, the hands change, the handswell,
the feet swell, but specifically swelling in the face, which
we call peri orbital edema, these are signs of pre eclamsia.
Your blood pressure significantly rising, making sure that or also
(28:59):
me people will complain of headaches secondary to elevated blood pressures.
These are signs of postpartum pre clamsia that you want
to look out for. Secondly, mental health conditions are one
of the top causes of morbidian mortality in the postpartum period,
so families significant others pay attention to all the signs.
(29:21):
If she's unhappy about the baby, if she's withdrawn, if
she's doing some things that she doesn't normally do you
want to make sure that you check in not just
check in on the baby, but you want to check
in on the mental health side of things, of the mom,
the recent mom. So it's so important and even also employers.
Employers need to make sure that we're paying attention to
(29:42):
the signs of postpartum depression, postpartum preclamsia as well, so
excessive sadness, crying, and then obviously we have some severe
cases and that's postpartum psychosis, and that's a whole nother ballgame,
but most commonly it is the postpartum depression signs of
those is what we need to be looking at for.
Speaker 1 (30:02):
Oh my gosh, that is so very important, especially with
new moms and especially the ones that really don't know,
because I think sometimes they believe that having the baby, oh,
it's going to be beautiful, it's going to be wonderful,
and then baby's here and your life is changed forever
further good, right, But sometimes things happen, especially with our
mental health.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 4 (30:24):
Absolutely, we have to plan for that sading period. I
think that's most important.
Speaker 2 (30:30):
Absolutely, I totally agree with that. But I guess my
question and final question would be for you.
Speaker 1 (30:35):
If you could just give every new mom just one
piece of advice, what would that be.
Speaker 4 (30:42):
It's very important, especially in this day and age with
the maternal health crisis being what it is for women,
for pregnant women and family members to do the work.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
When I say do the work, I mean make.
Speaker 4 (30:54):
Sure that you educate yourself so that you can be
the best advocate possible. The best advocate is an educated
advocate and one that makes informed decisions from a place
of knowledge. So do the work, educate yourself, ask the questions.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
I love that.
