that's started with some Atlanta Braves news IMLB. Now Brian
Sniggers days as Brave's manager, you have officially him to end.
The club announced Wednesday that Snigger will not return for
the twenty twenty six season, ending a remarkable one that's
been over a decade now. The sixty nine year old
Braves lifer isn't stepping away entirely, though, He's moving into
(02:21):
an advisory role with the organization and is set to
be inducted into the Braves Hall of Fame next year. Now,
Snicker reflected, honest journey seeing You know, honestly, I never
thought I'll manage one day in major leads, let alone
ten years. I never thought I'll hoist a World Series trophy.
I never thought I'll be around a group of guys
(02:43):
that make this so special. And he's not exaggerating guys.
Snigger became a Brave's manager after Freddy Gonzalez, who took
over following Bobycott's legendary tenure, and he left his own
incredible mark on the franchise. Now listen, from guiding the
team the postseason success to being a steady hen in
(03:03):
the clubhouse, snickers legacy is secured and Braves fans we
will be celebrating him for years to come. Congratulations to
Ryan Snicker as he journey on and to new waters,
new charted waters, and of course remaining still in MLB.
Now listen, sports lovelies, we gotta talk about those dirty birds. Yes,
(03:23):
the Atlanta Falcons bounce back then a big way. Last Sunday,

four hundred thirty five toty yards, four touchdowns and a
career best outing from Rickey quarterback Michael Pinnis Junior. He
(03:44):
threw for three hundred and thirteen yards and two scores.
Now B John Yes. B John Robinson was again electric,
racking at one one hundred and eighty one scrimmat yards
and a touchdown. Wal Drink London Holiday one hundred and
ten yards and a score of his own. Now Carl
Pets and Tyler Aljior also found the end zone, given
(04:04):
the Falcons their first game with four different players scoring
touchdowns since twenty twenty four. Now. Defensively, Atlanta made noise
early two first half sacks and another interception from Ricky's
safety at Xavier Watts, while kicker Parker Romo stayed perfect,
knocking through both of his field goals and all four
extra points and the league has taken notice because the
(04:26):
NFL has announced that B John Robinson the NFC Offensive
Player of the Month for September. Through four weeks, he
totaled five hundred and eighty four scrimmatyards, the second most
through four games in Falcons history and least the entire
league in that category. Now Robinson the only player ranked
inside the top twenty in both rushing and receiving yards.

I had a chance to catch up with Power for
Anyata just to talk about growth challenges and what's ahead
for this season. And this is what he had to say.
You spoke about just some of the growing things over
the last few seasons. What has been your most rival lessons? Oh, yes,
(06:00):
it's a long season. Eighties games and I've dealt with
you know, last few years, housing changes, ross changes, health,
you know, I go with all itself, go groas y'all.
You know, be patient myself, be patient with you know,
whatever the situation is, and always see the best of
(06:22):
the situation. And speaking of growth and of course growing pains,
the Hawks made a huge impact off the court this
week too. Now the team and Stay Farm brought together
more than five thousand volunteers at Stay Farm Arena for
their annual million Million Meal packs, successively assembling over one
(06:43):
million meals in a single day to support families across
Metro Atlanta. Now players like Mohammed Gay and Keaton Wallace

Dash to help fight food insecurities. Now in total, over
one hundred and thirty four thousand pounds of food. That's
more than a million meals for families in need. Now
(07:04):

possible when a community comes together with purpose. Another Hawks
at State Farm have now packed more than four point
one million meals since twenty nineteen, and they're not slowing

night and came up short, falling to n OL two

MLB debut, come off the bench, a bright spot in
an otherwise frustrating knight for the Five Stripes. No Jada
Heibbett made some key safes, but New England struck twice
(08:08):
and the second half and listen, Atlanta just couldn't answer back.
But switching gears to brighter news. Atlanti United officially opened

sports tea is upon is. Here's the time where we
serve up the hottest stories from the world of sports
and sometimes love me a major cameo. Now today it's
all about Taylor Swift and of course Kensey City's chief
star Travis Kelcey. Now the pop superstar appeared on the
UK's Graham Norton Show Friday, showing off her dazzling engagement ring.
(15:13):
It's spilling the tea behind the scenes scoop of the proposals.
So just get this Patrick, Spirits lovelies. The entire engagement
went down in Travis's backyard while they were filming his podcast.
A hinch wall was being set up. Her tour photographer
sneathed into the bushes to snap some cute pigs and
the batdrop was a custom built enchanted garden that Kelsey
(15:36):
decorated while they were recording the podcast. Now, the fairy
Tale proposal featured thousands of flowers, greenery, and of course
it created a cinematic batdrop for the moment. Now, of course,
the couple revealed the engagement and a joint Instagram post
showing Kelsey down one knee before Swift in a floral setting.
(15:56):
Of course, Travis planned every detail perfectly, yes, he did.
You heard me, spurs, lovelies, You heard me, ladies, Travis

her words rather she said quote straight up crushed it.

(17:12):
that time for w nbaes now sports slevely, sports lovelies,
Pull up a chair, because we have to talk now.
WNBA players have been very vocal about salary bumps for years,
right and now some of the Link's biggest stars are
sending very clear message. Time is up. Listen. Minnesota Link
(17:32):
star and Nephesia Carllier went viral this week after dropping
a prepared statement calling out commissioner Kathy Engelberg, saying the
league isn't doing enough to mardynize salaries or stay competitive. No.
A couple of days later later, Indiana Fever guard Kaitlyn
Clark and Sophie Khanyieam added their voices as well, and
their Clark was support of saying strong leadership is needed
(17:55):
now more than ever. Cuttingham didn't hold back. They're felling
us as a league, definitely filling us as players, she said,
backing up everything called your said. Now. Carrier has reportedly
canceled a playing meeting with Ingebert, which just shows how
serious the players are about for pushing change. You know
this is going to be a part too, because this
(18:16):
story is still developing. We've said this so many times. Yes,
there is a salary gap compared to the guys in
the NBA. We've known this for many, many years. We've
had different agreements that happen to, you know, boost up
the salary, but it's just not going to work, especially
with this economy and how things are so very expensive.
(18:40):
Of you know what. We will definitely continue this story
and a part two. But most importantly, listen, guys, we
got to stay open minded and we do have to
think about how Martynized things should be in this time
and day of twenty twenty five. But listen, guys, we
got to go back to the court because I have
to tell you some more news. Now on the court,
(19:01):
the Indiana Fever unlikely playoff run. It came to end
on October first, in Game five against the Las Atheas Aces.
Now the Fever pushed the number two seeded Aces all
the way to overtime, but ultimately fail one of seven
to ninety eight. Meanwhile, the Aces are just three games
away from full dynasty status. Now look three wins away
(19:25):
from full dynasty status. They also kicked off the WNBA
Finals with the thrilling Game one win over the Phoenix
Mercury eighty nine to eighty six rally from a nine
point second half deficient. Now Game two going down today
at three o'clock Easter Standard time on ABC, so make
sure you check it out, but listen here so rather
it's off court drama or on cut fireworks, the WNBA
(19:48):
is heating up and trust me, you don't want to blink.
This is what WNBA Playoff Basketball is all about. Buckle
up because lesson sports slowlies, because this next matchup are

fiance Travis Kelsey's marriage proposal. And we're not done chatting
about this. We're talking hitting messages, shame so strong that
it could just break the internet. And coming up after
the break, we've got to talk about the essamates. OHMG moment.
(21:21):
You do not want to miss this. This one is
absolutely messy, dramatic and absolutely draw dropping. Stick around. Don't
you go anywhere We'll be bad, my god.
Speaker 3 (21:51):
Oh no she didn't. Oh no she didn't.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
Oh oh no, this one for didn't. Oh welcome back
love on Batsford's lovely sur smmh oungree moment. It's a
fun that, so grab your receipts because Taylor Swift just
dropped the life of a showgirl and fans are losing it.
On the track listen, there are some great tracks and
(22:17):
one is opolyte and it looks like Taylor might be
taking some subtle or not so subtle shots at Travis
Kelsey's at Kayla Nicole. Yeah, lyrics like you couldn't understand it,
why you felt alone? You were in it for real
and she was in her phone m interesting and you
(22:40):
were just a post. Have fans convinced she's calling out
Kayla for just being more about clout than a relationship.
Now for contacts, Kelsey and Cole were on again and
off again from twenty seventeen for five years, and Swifties
are combining the album lines by line for it every
(23:00):
hitting jab and apparently Taylor isn't stopping there. Tracks like
Actually Romantic and Counseled are making people wonder if other
friends and former collaborators like Charlie, Etcx and Blake likely
are also getting this subtle side art asam h. Just
when you thought pop music was safe for casual listening,
(23:22):
it turns into a full on drama central. Oh my goodness, OMG,
this album is basically a massive class in Shane and
trust me, we're not done breaking it down. And you
know what this will be to be continued and that
is my esmate on g moment for the week. Be

Coming up after it. Right, it's my special guest. Stay tuned,
(24:04):
Oh we'll be My next guest is a board member
of the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Foundation,
which celebrates and preserve the legacy of distinguished Black college
alumni while building pathways for the next generation sports levelies.
Please welcome Quentin Rush too Chicks in a Sport, Well, welcome, Welcome,
(24:27):
Welcome to Chicks in the Sports. I had a couple
of questions for you, and I want to start with
just the past forty years, the foundation has in depted
dozens of leaders across fields, building a lineage of role
models for just future generations. So I guess let's just
talk about the forty years of Hall of Fame. What
does that mean to you and the foundation? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (24:50):
Actually, I really appreciate the question.
Speaker 4 (24:52):
The Hall of Fame was started forty years ago, as
you will know, in nineteen eighty five by our chairman emeritus,
the late Thomas W. Deutsch, and this year we're celebrating
our theme of forty years strong, Legacy Built and Legacy Rising.
The you know, Hall of Fame has spent that forty
years both both in celebration and charging toward the future
(25:14):
as well. We spent that time honored this thing withis
alumni from so many HBCUs across the country, but we've
also invested in the next generation and invested in programs
like the Andrew Young Emerging Leaders Institute, our civic participation
in financial health enrichment sessions, and the competition of Black
College Queens. So these are things that have been the
(25:35):
foundation of what we're doing and things we're so proud
of doing. But we're looking ahead and envisioning and strengthening
in our programs, looking at how we continue to drive
a connection to the past while honoring the present and
envisioning the future. So ultimately, you know, we're looking to
really build on this legacy and move stronger into the
(25:58):
future as well.
Speaker 1 (26:00):
Awesome, Now, let's talk a little bit about the how
are honeries like Stephen A.
Speaker 3 (26:06):
Smith choosing well.
Speaker 4 (26:09):
Our honores are selected with great care. It's not only
about what they do in their profession, but also what
they do a demonstration of excellence. It's all about giving
back to their HBCUs and to their communities. So they're
nominated by either their institution themselves, including the presidents of institutions,
(26:30):
or through their national alumni associations or others that recognize
not only their great academic achievement, their civic leadership and
philanthropy is a major part of what we honor each
of our inducties with as we select them.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
Now, you mentioned it just briefly a few minutes ago,
but just talk about just the importance to highlight Black
college graduates and just their achievements.
Speaker 4 (26:56):
Yeah, that's really the focus of the Hall of Fame
that along with building the next generation of leaders. But
the focuses again on their excellence in academia and their
matriculation through HBCUs, honoring them throughout their profession and what
they've achieved. But there's also this focus on philanthropy and
(27:17):
service that makes the Hall of Fame unique because we're
really all about celebrating, not only the change makers and individuals,
but also those that they invest in. You know, Stephen A. Smith,
one of our honoories this year, is a perfect example.
He's one of the most recognizable voices in sports media
and journalism, host of ESPN's First Take, and an outspoken
(27:38):
advocate for HBCUs. But he stands alongside other inductees and
honoreies this year who have created pathways for the next
generation of leaders. Folks like doctor William Bennett of Lincoln University,
who helped establish the Morehouse School of Medicine here in Atlanta,
and doctor Richard Barnett, or as we know him, Dick Barnett,
(27:58):
who changed the game of basket ball and has been
a lifelong commitment and investing in the youth. He's still
doing that today, even posthumously through his foundation. So our
inductees showed that professional excellence's table stakes. But what we're
really celebrating is the social and economic impact and the
way that they use their platforms. The strength in HBCUs
(28:19):
uplift our communities and create opportunities for others.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
I love that. But let's talk a little bit about
just the celebration and talk just about what makes this
year celebration so special.
Speaker 4 (28:32):
Well, look, celebrating forty years is something extraordinary, and as
we look at the forty years again, we're looking for
ways to ensure that we not only honor the past.
Speaker 3 (28:43):
But we envision the future.
Speaker 4 (28:46):
We're looking at continuing to build and honoring this year
already with our golf competition that took place earlier this week,
where we had over twenty three teams across sixteen different
schools and over one hundred and thirty students and coaches
here in attendance for the Thomas W.
Speaker 3 (29:01):
Dortch HBCU Golf Classic. We wanted to.
Speaker 4 (29:05):
Honor teams both men and women across Division one and
Division two and this golf outing. We're looking for ways
to continue this week in honoring our HBCU Queen's Competition
and most importantly bringing in fifteen new inductees into the
Hall of Fame.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
I love that, Oh my goodness. But you know this
year is going to be that firesight chat. Can we
talk a little bit about just Stephen A. Smith and
Kevin Fraser and just tell us all about that.
Speaker 3 (29:37):
Oh, we're so excited for that.
Speaker 4 (29:39):
This is going to be a powerful conversation between two
proud HBCU graduates who have reached the top of their fields,
and I think we can all agree with that. They'll
be discussing the future of HBCUs, the critical need for sustainability,
and the responsibility that alumni have to reinvest in their schools.
By placing that dialogue on the national stage, we're amplifying
(29:59):
the value HBCUs and reminding alumni of their role in
sustaining them and hopefully inspiring current students with models of
leadership rooted in both excellence and service. So we're super
excited to have Kevin and Stephen share with us that chat.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
I love that. Now, Atlanta, it's going down. Why is
Atlanta the right place to host this Moulestone.
Speaker 4 (30:23):
Well, not only was the Hall of Fame founded here
in Atlanta, but Atlanta is the heart.
Speaker 3 (30:27):
Of the HBCU ecosystem with.
Speaker 4 (30:30):
The Atlanta University Center, with Spelman, Moorhouse, Clark Atlanta, Morris Brown.
Speaker 3 (30:35):
It's a city steeped in HBCU history and alumni pride.
Speaker 4 (30:39):
Hosting here allows us to draw on that living legacy
while convening alumni, students, and partners from across the nation
to come here to Atlanta. Atlanta's prominence amplifies the visibility
of our work and creates the momentum for strengthening and
sustaining HBCUs nationwide.
Speaker 3 (30:56):
So we're super excited to be here again in Atlanta
this year.
Speaker 1 (30:59):
I love it. This is so amazing. And can you
just share with our listeners who will want to support
Where can we find out more information and of course
take part in the foundation's work.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
