(02:08):
His emits potential now. Nikkel Alexander Walker added thirty points.
Kristal Perzangis was efficient event capped the three ball raining.
But even with all of that, the Nuggets mounted a
furious comeback led by Nikola Jokic and the Hawks came
up just short, falling on thirty forty one thirty three.

(03:18):
and turnovers allowed Maine to build a big lead. Now listen.
Javon Johnson led the team with nineteen points. M J.
Walker added twenty points in eight assists, and right Murray
Junior pulled down ten rebounds with sixteen points. Back to
back threes from Ndia brought the Skyhawks within nineteen points,
where Harper Junior sparked another run, this time to put
(03:40):
the game away. The two to eighth players scored five
of Maine's ten points to give the season their largest

With five minutes for many, the Skyhawks cut the deficier

called aj Terrell Junior. Listen, squirts, selevelies. He has been
named to the Falcons nominees for the twenty twenty five

(05:37):
the least highest honors. Through his foundation, he continues to

After five seasons of grinding, leading and delivering wherever the
team needed him right back, winger, midfielder, he is officially
no longer with the club. He's his departure closes a
massive chapter of course for the Five Stripes and then
the legend bradguns And himself has retired. The man who
(08:07):
anchored the back line, lifted trophies and let with pure passion.
He's hanging up his gloves as one of the most
respected players in Atlanta and n IT it's history now
getting his voice and the leadership of course, will be
truly missed, both players. Brick Lennon, Brad, we will definitely
be missing you guys. But here's the thing. Now here's
(08:29):
where the energy shifts. And of course we're shifting upward
because Atlanta and Iited isn't just starting fresh with the
new face. They're reuniting with their old coach. Yes, Tata
Martino is back. The architect, the culture builder, the culture
brought Atlanta its first MLS Cup in twenty eighteen. Remember
(08:49):
Tata returns on a two year deal through twenty twenty seven.
And the beauty of it all, he's coming here to
learn anything new. He's building this identity, set these standards.
He knows the city, this fan base, and what Atlanta
United should look like. So yes, Lanta is gonna be gone.
Gunzan has retired and the roster is still evolving, but
(09:11):
Tata's return is sittingly something bad. So Atlanta United, y'all

leadership are exactly what Atlanta needs to soar.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
Speaking of soaring, Atlanta fans don't have to wait until

Speaker 1 (13:25):
We're taking it off the court news to listen to
some hot tea. Now listen, the drama doesn't always happen
under the bright arena lights, right, So here's the tea.
Police recently resplendent to a verbal dispute at former NBA
star Aman Chumpers Atlanta home involving a woman named Janna
(13:48):
the Jannar Now listen. No charges were filed, but the
story hasse layers. According to police reports, Johona told officers
that after an argument about Shumpert's alleged communicating with another woman,
he hit her and dragged her out of the room
(14:09):
by her wrists and foot. She even said she wanted
to press charges no. Shumper, on the other hand, told
police he simply asked her to leave multiple times politely,
after she damaged some of his personal belongings. Now a
witness at the scene backup Shumpert's version, saying, yes, he
grabbed her by the wrist to escort her out, but
that's it. It was not done in an aggressive manner. No,
(14:33):
police noted no visible injuries, no marts, no abusing, no bruising,
and with conflicting accounts no physical evidence, officers determined no
crime had occurred. Now here, it is case closed.
Speaker 4 (14:46):
That was for the night.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
Of course, body.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
Can fit dies reportedly show Johnna telling Shumper see you
in court and on Instagram in the morning, and the
word is she still threatening legal action?
Speaker 2 (15:02):
Hmmm, yeah, that's how.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
It is definitely going down.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
Now.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
Listen, sports Lovely, listen this is yeah. Are you sipping
because I am too? But listen, Sports Lovely, stay locked
in because this sports tea is always going to be brewing.
Coming up after the break, we're unpacking a story involving sex,
(15:30):
a former NBA player and a doll. You truly have
to hear to believe. Don't go nowhere.
Speaker 4 (15:36):
We'll be bad.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
Oh my god, Oh no she didn't.
Speaker 4 (15:54):
Oh no she didn't.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
Oh no, this her for didn't.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
Oh welcome back, welcome, that's where's lovelies.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
My smh og moment is upon us and listens spirts
loveliest buckle up because this one had my eyebrows doing
a full workout. So on November nineteenth episode of We're
Out of Time podcast, former NBA star Lamar Odem forty
five dropped a bombshell that had the Internet doing double takes.
He revealed that he purchased a custom setstall. Yes you
(16:27):
heard that right, n n It.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
Looks just like his ex wife Chloe Kardashian.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
Hmm interesting, shaking my head and oh my gosh. Odem
said he sees it as, wait for it, a mental
wellness tool. In his words, when you're really thinking about it,
it's like a doll. But then you think about mental
health and sets. All that looks like your wife is
about mental health, said Odem.
Speaker 3 (16:54):
Hmmm.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
Que the collectives what and he didn't stop there. The
Lakers alarm at it is sick, but I think we're
all a little off, a little weird. They're gonna make
it to look like her.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
I need like a horror, sir, please please you know.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
But I'm also mentioned that he and Chloe don't talk
much these days, but said she still cares about me
and who the shaking my head and oh my goodness
moments in sports and never ends sports, Lovelies, I am
just a lot, look sir, Please enough enough and that
(17:36):
is my smhong moment for the week. Be sure to
check out chips into sports dot com for further sports news,

you do it. Let us know your thoughts on social media.
Coming up after the break is my special Guests. Stay tuned,
(17:58):
we'll be back. My next guest is no stranger to you,
and I swear she's accomplished NBA dancer, makeup lover and
talent to choreographer, plus a proud UGA grad and remember
of Zeta Phi Beta sorority. You may have seen her
UNVH one sorority sisters, but listen, here's spirits, lovelies. You
(18:19):
got to welcome back college Part Skyart, Senior manager of
event production. We're run a cuppall too, chicks, welcome back,
you know, the let's jump right into it. I just
want to ask you just about how everything went. Just
the energy first off of the two games, how was
(18:41):
it just being their direct.
Speaker 3 (18:46):
The energy was truly insane. I think our first game
we had what twenty three hundred kids in the building
or something ridiculous, second game we had seventeen hundred and
overall everyone was just so excited. But for the dancers
(19:07):
our first game were middle school dancers, and the exposure
for them, like it blew their mind. And it was
so fun to see how supportive the whole arena was,
all the other kids cheering them on like it was amazing.
And Spelman got just as warmer a reception. It was fantastic.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
Oh my gosh, that is so amazing.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
I looked I to get two wins too on both days, right,
that was even better. Now, Veronica, again, this is such
a pleasure to speak with you again, but I definitely
wanted to just ask you how did you tailor the
routines to fit the unique styles and of course the
skill level and just energy of each individual.
Speaker 3 (19:49):
Team So for each team, we did a preliminary workshop
where we taught them sideline routine that is something that
we do to kind of gauge their movement abilities. We
put them through a mini audition where we taught them
to go across the floor and how they followed and
(20:11):
picked up information. And then from that we were able
to incorporate a little bit of freestyling to see what
their natural choices would be. Yeah, and then as we
started to get into the teaching, we would tailor the
details and information to help suit their bodies, also be
age appropriate because we are grown women performing our routines,
(20:35):
and so we thought about what they would wear, how
they would show up, and then specifically how we could
make adjustments in our choreography to meet each group and
each skill level.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
Now, I love that you know you're teaching the youth.
The most important part of just seeing just the rewards
from that.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
Right, Yeah, it's incredible.
Speaker 1 (20:59):
Yes, So I guess my question to you would be
what was the most rewarding part of just teaching and
working with the youth For me?
Speaker 3 (21:08):
I was exposed to dance in a pro sports perspective
relatively late in life, and so to be able to
share with middle school and collegiate dancers that there is
something after collegiate dance, or that there is something after
competition dance this early in their careers is really powerful.
(21:35):
The average fan may never make it to an NBA
game before they're eighteen, so for these young dancers to
have the awareness of what the future could hold this early,
as early as eighth grade as powerful. I think. The
other part that I loved most was getting to as
our South Side crew dancers are developing in their career,
(21:57):
they were given an opportunity to give back. So in
the same ways that Hawks dancers do workshops where people
are coming out to want to be the pros, they
were able to do a workshop where they were able
to develop and give back in the spirit of the
G League. So that's probably the most rewarding part. I
love that.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
I love that now, Ruben Gat they performed on December
second and the genre Et Spellman and December third.
Speaker 3 (22:23):
How did you just ensure each group just had a.
Speaker 1 (22:26):
Distinct performance identity while still just showcasing just their signature style.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
So what's unique is we were giving them, I would say,
a unique challenge and that the ask was they not
conform it's not the right word, but that they pushed
themselves to expand what they think possible into our form.
I think sports dance, or I should say dance in
(22:54):
terms of a sports entertainment space is very different from
an HBCU style. It also would be very differ from
a middle school dance team style of perspective. So we
were asking them to push their athleticism, push their performance quality,
and really strive to blend as one unique team instead
(23:16):
of as separate teams dancing together. Did now do a rehearsal?
Speaker 1 (23:21):
Was there any like breakout moments from any of the
dancers that you saw that kind of caught your attention?
Speaker 2 (23:27):
Was there any moments for you?
Speaker 3 (23:29):
Definitely When we were watching each group perform, we had
I believe seven ray Bun Gap dancers and some of
them were as young as eighth grade. So watching the
future of the next generation of dancer in real time
work through feeling a little insecure or nervous, pushing themselves
(23:52):
to really try to perform at a high level because
they were I won't say starstruck, but kind of in
all that this was even a possibility. There were two
dancers in particular that I was like, man, when when
she gets out of her head and really celebrating in
her body, she'll be unstoppable. And for Spelman, listening to
(24:13):
them talk about their careers, listening to them talk about
their degree tracks. We had two dancers that were focused
on engineering that also decided to share their artistic talent
on our team. Our current Southside crew lead. Her name
is Cody Zany. She is an engineer. We have two
(24:34):
PhD candidates on our team. One PhD candidate in engineering
that was able to speak to that group. The other
is a doctoral student, so not PhD but MD, so
I should I should clarify that. But to be able
to connect with them not only as dancers but as
(24:57):
professionals was really powerful and it's just a huge reminder
to women in male dominated fields. Women in sports are
not just talented bodies, but they are prolific thinkers as well.
Speaker 1 (25:09):
Absolutely absolutely, And I want you to stay there for
a minute because I just want to just deep a
little bit, divert dive in a little bit deeper with it.
Just as far as events like this per Se Education Day,
you know, it's helping to strengthen the students, strengthen the community.
So could you just kind of just emphasize or give
me just a little bit more details on just how
(25:31):
the Skyhawks organization in local schools and colleges can just
come together to strengthen together the.
Speaker 3 (25:38):
Community in the spirit of development, which is what the
G League is all about, creating the future stars for
the NBA on and off the court. That's the heartbeat
of what our program is three hundred and sixty five.
Not just on Education Day, but we definitely prioritize college's
classroom and stepping into KITH twelve academic spaces and leveraging
(26:04):
real life training opportunities for collegiate internships. And when I
say internship, I mean having more House come out and
broadcast a game, or having Spelman come out and work
with our group, just giving them exposure to do job shadowing.
It strengthens and changes what people think being in sports
(26:25):
has to mean. So we are invested in the next
generation of future stars, whether that's marketing, video production, dance,
pr If there is an opportunity for you to grow
and thrive in this industry, we look for ways to
collaborate with other teams and other schools as teammates to
(26:45):
do that.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
I love that. I love that so important. Most importantly,
I want to ask you, just being there seeing that crowd,
what do you think the students took away from just
why from the stands.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
It's incredible to be part of something bigger than yourself.
And I think for the dancers that were in the crowd, well,
for the dancers that were center court looking out into
the crowd, it was like, oh my goodness, the energy
from center court is unlike anything you will ever experience
in your life. And so to see other kids watching
(27:27):
young professionals do something they may want to do, like
the young student athletes watching our Skyhawks players, having those
young future cheer or entertainers watching the women and young
women that perform s citer court, what they're gonna believe
is it's possible for me too, Like I can do
(27:47):
try and achieve so much more. What's unique is for
raybun Gap, they also were able to perform one of
their own routines for the fans, and that routine probably
got even more yells than ours because it was all
about them. It was skill that was relatable and digestible
for each person in that building, and so it was
(28:10):
just great to see the next generation get excited about
something so personal.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
Now, looking ahead, do you foresee more community based functions
or youth focused collabs happening in the future for this season.
Speaker 3 (28:26):
Absolutely, We're always looking for ways to connect and leverage
our resources to better the greater good of the South
Side and Atlanta community around us. We're starting to compile
a list of local high schools that we can reach
out to. I think what is unique about the dance
three sixty opportunity is you do have to have some
(28:48):
baseline of movement. We're not resourced enough to do dance
clinics where we're teaching people to dance, but there are
enough talented programs and young people with the baseline of
movement that we would love to connect. So that's our
strategy to figure out how we can get to that
next generation of entertainer that's already kind of started on
(29:09):
their path absolutely beyond basketball, right beyond basketball definitely.
Speaker 1 (29:16):
Now, if you could give just one piece of advice
to just young dancers and students hoping to follow in
your footsteps, what would that be.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
My one bit of advice would be that your attitude
determines your altitude. I think what I saw many of
the dancers that went through this workshop overcome was their
own self talk. If they didn't think they could do it,
they really had a hard time. But when they really
dug into I'm in the right place at the right time,
with the right mindset and aligned with the right people,
(29:49):
they really were able to shine. And I think for
any young dancer, if you can believe it, you really
can work your way, once step at a time to
achieve it. That would be my best advice.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
I love that.
Speaker 1 (30:06):
I love to have one final bonus question for you,
So if you could just look back at your own
time as a youth dancer or young dancer, do you
see any parts of yourself and some of the you
know students that you kind of you know, engage with
these last couple of days and weekly you do.
Speaker 3 (30:24):
Absolutely. When I say dance saved my life, it's not
even an exaggeration. I think we underestimate the power of
youth sports or team sports in general. When I found
this community, I was fourteen. My dad had just passed away,
and I needed a home base, and dance or the
(30:46):
arts gave me an outlet to share myself authentically. Every
time I stepped out on the floor. And that's the
power of youth sports, youth arts, youth per forming opportunities.
I was given opportunities to develop poise, to learn how
to speak or present myself, how to work through and
(31:08):
troubleshoot challenges, but also how to work as a team,
and healthy ways to build relationships with the people around me.
While I continue to pursue my goals, I also learned
a lot about we instead of me. In those spaces
and watching these young dancers, you never know what real
(31:30):
life things they're carrying or dealing with. They come to
bring their talent and their effort and their care and
that's what they have to offer. And so to step
into a space with my background looking at them put
everything they had into those rehearsals and everything they had
into their performance, it reminded me one of how far
(31:51):
I've come, but also if this is where they're starting,
their future is so bright.
Speaker 2 (31:59):
Oh my gosh, that is so powerful. I love that.
I love that.
Speaker 1 (32:02):
Oh my goodness, thank you so much for Rodica. You
see as usual as always.

(32:46):
But listen, in all fairness, I can say the same
about winning.
Speaker 4 (32:50):
Right.

l it's just an honly shaped w and it's all

to just lose to win in the game of life.
