Speaker 1 (00:23):
Today on the voices of Legacy. We're honored to welcome
well I call him a friend, mister Todd Johnson of Toledo, Ohio.
Todd's a distinguished professional in the pharmaceutical industry, having achieved
a remarkable allocation of awards up until recently one number

(00:45):
number one in the market. Chare that's an insight joke,
you guys in the nation for neuroscience and pharmaceuticals, ranked
in the top five percent of sales in the United
States with a particular pharmaceutical company. Beyond his corporate success,
Todd is the host of Winning, Winning with Todd Johnson.

(01:09):
I can't say it like him, He's gonna have to
say it where he shares insights and achievements in excellence
with personal growth. He's also deeply committed to his faith
community and activities of engagement in ministry. We are so
honored to have none other than the one and only
mister Todd Johnson. Good morning, sir.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Oh man. I don't know if I deserve all those accolades,
but I'm grateful that you had enough grace to allow
me on this show. I'm grateful, Thank you, man. It's
been a good run. You mentioned a few of the
things that we've done, but I wanted it if I
can kind of piggyback one thing. We just finished a book.
All through the book my wife and myself entitled Introducing
Jesus Christ dyk JCY. So that's the faith part. And

(01:52):
what I found out is that the selling part. So
the faith part is my passion. The corporate part is
my job. So my faith part makes my corporate job
so easy. And I'm not saying that to be bragging
or votaceous, but it's easy as one two three means.
It's weird how God has wired me.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
I thought we were created to brag on our faith.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Well, yeah, yeah we are. Yeah, that's ye're right, You're okay,
all right, one hundred percent right, I gotta watch it. Yeah,
So yeah, man, I'm so. I've been in sales almost
going on thirty years now, and I man had a
lot of success. I's number one in the country with Viiser,
number one in a country with Pharmacia, number one in
the country with Amgen, number one in the country with
Diplomat and top five percent of the guy Lily, number

(02:37):
two in the country with my current company Rare Disease.
But I'm competing against bigger states, so I'm not quite
happy with the way things are going. But we still
have a whole four three quarters ago yet. So it's
so early in the game, so I don't want to
say too much about it, but I'm excited because I
know how I'm wired. Right, So so watch out, Texas,
watch out. I'm coming. I'm coming for you, I promise. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Can you share with us the path that led you
to the success in your career and in pharmaceuticals altogether.
I mean, it's not a common thing for a person
of color. I'm putting my quoting fingers up. But what
led you down that path?

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Great question. So my father used to own My father
and my mom own two carry outs, and basically from
the age of probably man, I bet five to six
years of age. I'm the youngest of three, right, I
was the one getting up with him every morning throughout
the summer going to open up the store. And what
happened was I was able to be exposed man to

(03:38):
multi millionaires, from people who, I'll be honest, who were
demographically on the lower pole of society, from people that
had drinking problems. I've seen it all. So he allowed
for me to be able to be exposed to meet
with these people. So what that did, Pastor Carl, That
allowed for me to be able to talk and work

(03:59):
with anyone. And I took that trait and I applied
it to my current profession. So he always taught me
to to serve right, so serving everyone and then also
having compassion right. And then the third was passionate, being
passionate about what you do. And the fourth is which
I really love, is displaying the world to win. All

(04:21):
for of those attributes I saw at that store, it
was a carry out. I mean we sold cigarettes, cold cuts,
can goods, toll tries. But what that did that allow
me to work with people from all over northwestern Ohio.
I mean we would have the CEO of Jeep or not,
I mean the vice president of Jeep. And at that
time it was called Dolar Jarvis. It was a plant

(04:44):
and they would all come to the store and I
would see them and here I am only five to
six years of age, and I would interact with them.
He would literally make me say hello and shake hands.
So that's how it all started. So all I've done
is carry those four attributes over into the corporate and
it's funny you would ask that question. What I mean,
what made me successful? Because I try to share that

(05:06):
with people. And you know, I had a director one
time ask me, so, no, I know, what are you doing?
I says, I'm telling you what I'm doing. He goes, no,
there's no way you can. Little old Toledo can beat
out New York, beat out Philly, beat out Jersey. Yeah,
and they just don't sometimes want to listen. But I'm
okay with them not listening because that gives me more
room to grow.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Do you enjoy the challenge of camp? Oh my gosh,
you can't. You shouldn't. I love it.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
That's when you say things like that to me, that's
just another way for me to want to just just
I'm a Christian. I love the Lord, but demolish or
decimate that thought process. So there's no I can in me.
I mean, I'm put here for a certain amount of
time to be successful. I know my days are numbered,
so I'm gonna live out everything I can for the Lord. Man,

(05:52):
I'm gonna win like he would want me to win,
no exception, no compromising. I gotta win. That's what I'm
put here to do, to represent him. That makes sense.
I don't want to be seeing like I'm too corporate,
but that's just how I'm why.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Oh absolutely, okay, cool. Yeah, we're talking to everybody, all right,
and a good number of people may not have faith
at all. But I think what you're saying is inspiring
to anybody. It's a clactica. It goes across the board.
And I can tell why we're friends too. I have
a similar experience. But those stores, they were here.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
In Toledo, Ohio. They were in the what they called
the urban areas, Norwood and Smeed and on the fern
Wood and that's off a door stoet. They are no
longer there. And the funny story, I wanted to purchase
those stores. And at that time, I mean when I
my dad, my mom and all, he had twenty employees
that night of employment, twenty full time employees. Can you
believe that? Oh yeah, and he that I wanted to

(06:44):
buy stores. My mom was Are you crazy? That demograph
has changed so much? No, it's dangerous, yes, but that's
what I saw growing up. But those stores were nor
Wood Speed. And here's the craziest part. He didn't own
both valeries market. That's my mom's in Battles owned, but
the other one was called JP and JAS. He was
so good at what he did. My father he was

(07:05):
able to take over another store. It was right down
the road. But because he knew how to service people,
he was compassionate and he was passionate. He and displayed
the wood when he was able to take that store.
And here's a piece about being compassion I remember people
coming in at that time. My dad would offer credit
to people who couldn't like pay or whatever upfront. And

(07:26):
I would say to him, hey, listen, I'm older at
this point. How we keep we keep extending credit everyone.
We have to get some money. And he goes, listen,
if we treat the people right when they can, they're
going to pay. And sure enough they did. And those
people that he extended credit to became faithful and they
would go to our store to purchase items he's supposed
to going. At that time, there's a store called food Town. Yeah,

(07:47):
you probably remember that. They would purchase items at the
store as opposed to going to Foodtown because he extended
credit and he was compassionate. So, man, I've learned so much.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Sue Town was barely a mile away yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
But they knew that, you know, mister Johnson or Jesse
they called him. He would extend credit and he treated
them man like there was someone and they are in
Christ and that was a difference. Man. He was always
good at that. Yeah. Yeah, so yeah, So.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
It sounds like you really learned a lot from your
father from that experience growing up in an entrepreneurial household.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Man that he's uh, yeah, he's he's awesome. I love
my father.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
What were some of the challenges from that childhood?

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Oh? Man, for me getting up at man, here I
am seven years old, waking up like six o'clock getting
over this. We literally had the mop. He made me
mop that for every single morning, Like I just mopped
it yesterday, Mop it again. You would always see, unless
this place smells the story smells like pine salt, we
have a problem. So I would mop, I would mop,

(08:52):
I would clean, I would dust. I dusted those cans yesterday.
Dust him again. But he was teaching me something. He
was teaching me what passion really looked like and and worked.
So and that was for me getting up being disciplined
enough to follow through and hey, listen, At some point
sometime they would get a little rowdy around that area.

(09:12):
And my father taught me what what confidence looks like.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
Right.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
I mean, you may not be the part, but you
have to look the part.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
Right.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
But he was the part man, my father when he
had those stores, he was what it's five eleven, two
hundred and fifty pounds, all state wrestling, all state foot.
He was literally just a big man. And they knew,
you know, they called a mister Jesse. They knew that
he meant business. So he taught me a lot about

(09:39):
how to carry myself. Right. You may not be the part,
but you have to look the part right, yes, And
so I mean learning it here. I am here again,
I'm like six seventy eight nine years old and seeing
all those type of people coming through the store. Just
always having a smile, be graceful, and always be willing
to serve everyone that comes to that store, no matter
how they look. They may. We may get the CEO

(09:59):
of Jeep that come in. You treat him just the
same way you would treat the person I've extended credit
to last month. You don't change, and he would make
certain I would stick to that. You don't change for anyone. Yeah.
So yeah, we're not onto.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
Oh no, you're fine, a fine. So I had to
asks you said five to eleven? When did you pass dad?

Speaker 3 (10:19):
In hyked?

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Oh my gosh, that happened, man, the moment I hit
like junior year in high school. I'm like six' three right.
Now but he always told we'd Never, hey, Listen i'm your,
father right and he. WOULDN'T i would understood what he
means when he said. That and my, Brother i'm like
the run of the. Family they would ask, me as
a matter of, fact how are you a part of his?
Family because my, brother, man he was just defensive, tackle big.

(10:43):
Guy i'm the Little i'm Only i'm a little. Guy
but they would all always ask, me do you belong
to this? Family BUT i passed my father man my freshman,
year freshman year of high.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
School actually yeah, yeah, yeah oh yeah easily just in.
Size oh, yeah you're not in the. Statud oh my.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Gosh never never want to get a great.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
Man, well what inspired you to start? Winning With Todd johnson?
Podcast can you kind of elaborate on the you got?

Speaker 2 (11:06):
It? Yeah SO i would get asked all the, time
what have you done to be? Successful what have you?
Done multiple multiple times and SO i just Figured i'd
put together something that would be pretty well package to
be able to teach and show others that are aren't
in the industry and others who are in this industry

(11:27):
how to turn it. Up not to write. Salesman yeah,
yeah and in any type of. Seals it's not, Pharmaceutical
so it's about any type of selles BECAUSE i believe
if you apply these four attributes that is, serving having
compassion and, passion and displaying what a, win you'll dominate
and manitelp THAT i have listeners shucks as far As,
australia The, Philippines, Russia germany and so what we do

(11:49):
on the, PODCAST i have different. GUESTS i just. Reached
most recently Had Dennis hobson on the show and we
spoke about what it means to have the will. Twin
here's a guy that's playing Against Michael, jordan playing ME
Aindt scottie peppin all the leadings To Ohio. State SO
i share titbits as to what you have to do
to either super excel yourself or get into the. Industry

(12:09):
and then what's happened is that in my, profession And
i'll say, it it's the. Truth it's like almost like a.
Fraternity it's almost like people that are inside don't want
people on the, outside and it's. Annoying i'm, like, Listen.
Bef prior to you AND i getting, in you didn't
have any excelling, Experience so what makes you? Different? Right
So i'm always giving titbits and how to get into
the industry because it's hard for one for let's, see

(12:31):
for every three thousand, applications or to disbmit it two
or three or. Hired so once you're, in you're. In
but once you get, in what are you going to?

Speaker 4 (12:39):
Do?

Speaker 2 (12:39):
Right, so once you're, in you have to be able
to show your overachiever because it's not for the. Fame
numbers never, lie, Right so the reality of the, matter
once you, win you have to. Perform And i'm all about.
THAT i, mean that's How i'm. Wired BUT i. Won't
you don't want to be and SOMETIMES i didn't give this.
Term it's not. Me so you Know i'm looking to.

(13:00):
You don't judge. Me you don't want to be a bottom. Feeder,
Right you get inside and you just molley through life.
Molleylong and that's. Noticeable SO i teach and share how to.
WIN i have different guests on the. SHOW i have
a neurologist coming up on the actual show to explain
what looks like from a sales consultant BECAUSE i didn't
come In and a lot of people think the whole

(13:20):
goal is getting to the actual. Physician well you be
pride of at. Occurring you have to deal with the gay,
cay the office, manager the medical, assistant the. Nurves so
don't put the kurt before the. Horse you have to
be able to relate. Serving it comes back to serving
everyone as if they were the actual provider in that,
practice because if you, don't that's. Noticeable AND i talk

(13:41):
about that on the.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Show my dad said something AND i hold this to
be true to this. Day service is. Success service is.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
SUCCESS i like them still THAT i like, That oh oh,
yeah take it.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
Please and you know he was an, entrepreneur entpreneur as,
well sixteen stores in three different. STATES WHOA tv back
the day here In. Toledo but that started in the
front room of our house over On PALM. Whoa but
it came from exactly what you. Said Serve, Serve Serve.
Serve he was a television repair man at sears AND

(14:14):
i know it's about, you not about, me but it
really kind of goes. Together and after a, while people
couldn't always afford to pick up their, television so he
started selling, televisions and people couldn't always afford to buy the,
television so he started selling the televisions on, time issuing. Credit, yeah,
serve when you serve the community and you do it
with a heart to serve and not just to get the.

(14:34):
Money i'm rubbing my fingers. Together then the money will.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
Come it always.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
Does but you have to, put as you, said not
the cart before the. Yeah, yeah and take care of
the people that most people, ignore which usually is the gay.
Career they're getting paid the least. Amount oh, wow you.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
Know about the? Industry, okay, yeah all.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
Right and it seems like for WHAT i watch with
the podcast that you feel the weight and responsibility of
the success that you've already, achieved AND i guess the
responsibility of sharing the, knowledge of, course not just gaining
but sharing. It AND i really enjoyed. That i'm giving
you a little bit of accolades, again BUT i do.

(15:17):
Things it's great to be able to share what you've
learned and what you're learning and in that, process, Man
i'm sure you learned. WHAT i watched that podcast With
dennis AND i was, like, Yeah i'll.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
Tell you it's you, know he came third behind the
draft pick behind it he got Drafted pride To Scottie
pippen AND i asked him what was it like playing
With michael planning Against Michael? Geordan, YEAH i, mean Here's
i'm sitting next to a guy that played against Him
jay and he goes that guy didn't have a you
know how you have an awful ouch which he didn't
have an off. Switch. Everything everything was a competition from
getting to the cafeteria, first what is GOING i? Mean

(15:51):
and Now i'm not. WIRED i like to, win but
it's a DIFFERENT i think he displayed and showed a different,
level you know. WHAT i take that, Back i'm that
way kind of, too, because, UH i always want to
be able to offer the. Best because of my, PROFESSION
i don't have the room for. Margin no errow is
not so Because i'm talking to a provider that's going
to give a patient something to ingest that can change your.

(16:13):
Life SO i don't have any room to make any
mistakes or exaggerate any, era because a lot is dependent
upon HOW i, communicate how to be, truthful and that's
for those who want to get into the. Industry you
gotta have integrity BECAUSE i try to think of that next.
Patient it's my mom or my. Daughter heaven, forbid if
some person who doesn't know what they're doing is talking
to a healthcare provider and give them wrong, Information I'M

(16:35):
i want to lose. Credibility but more, importantly there's someone's
life at, estate you. Know so that's what's.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
Important and that's almost true with any, industry even mortgages
and banking and. Such you're dealing with people's lives and.
Livelihoods so integrity is vitally important and it's powerful the
course for true, success leading to could you tell us
more about the vision for discovering Your kingdom?

Speaker 4 (17:03):
Journey oh, Wow so discovering Your kingdom journey does one
thing leading into the, other, Right, yeah, yeah it. Does
so my path has always BEEN i think we're put
here for one, reason and one reason this is just.
Mean i'm not going really not a religious, guy BUT
i love The Lord Jesus. Christ so we're putting for

(17:24):
a certain amount of, time, right and my purpose is
to expound and bring as much attention AS i can to.
Him so what that looks? Like EVERYTHING i do points
back to, him whether it's winning With Todd, johnson my.
Success i'm always saying that.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
He could have chosen anyone to do my role, right,
yes and be, successful but he chose. Me and so
because he chose, Me i'm going to make certain that
every CHANCE i get is TO i remember cybar. HERE
i want TO i went in the country with a
company Called, pharmacia AND i was gonna get up on that.
Stage now picture they had flown in The Old jays true.

(18:02):
Story i'm not asking this stuff. Up these corporate events they,
have these big entertainers come in and it was right
That Old j's were, there AND i Think Joe namath
for speaking as a motivational speaker to us or. Whatever
AND i told my regional, director IF i get up
on that, Stage i'm gonna say it's because Of Jesus.
Christ he, goes WHAT I Because i'm gonna tell you
What i'm telling you right. Now IF i get, Up

(18:23):
i'm number one in the country and it was because
of The lord That i'm up. There, uh they change it, Up,
no one got up on the. Stage But i'm that.
Way i'm wired that. Way SO i think discovering or
giving The lord glorification and praising him is Why i'm,
here and EVERYTHING i do has to filter that. Way

(18:44):
so in other, words whether it's Winning Batad, johnson whether IT'S,
dykjc whether it's working with my company WHICH i won't
say the company's, name but It's ridi's, Company i'm going
to make certain THAT i, somehow some way glorify The
lord because of my, success because WE'REEVER i, Go i'm
going to be successful and it's not me being bodations
of bragging BUT i cannot help the, beast but successful

(19:07):
because of WHAT i have inside of. Me, yes it's
kind of NEWT. I If i'm Wherever i'm, Going i'm
going to be successful because The lord's in. Me SO
i think discovering my, journey discovering first giving glory to
The lord will put you in a position where you
can win, anywhere whether you're sweeping on the, street whether
you're a, cook if you're JUST i mean expounding The,
Lord Jesus, Christ you're going to be. Successful DID i

(19:28):
answer your?

Speaker 1 (19:28):
QUESTION i think? So are you sure, Yeah i'd say
so BECAUSE I i it's kind of leading back to
what we were talking about. Earlier one thing just leads
right into the. Other is. OKAY a good steward of
your success is what you're pretty much describing WITH D
Y K J. C DID i get it? Right?

Speaker 2 (19:48):
Oh of course you know what that? Means?

Speaker 3 (19:49):
Right?

Speaker 1 (19:50):
Yeah well but you told, me you tell me.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
It means do you Know Jesus? Christ so someone sees,
it and this has happened to us multiple, times they
will ask, Me beau and the bracelets and we have
a book, Too what does that? MEAN i get a
chance to ask you do you Know Jesus? Christ And
i've had this. Happen no walk, away but the fact
of the matters you see. It you may not respond,
now but hopefully eventually going to think about what that acronym.

(20:15):
Means and that's the. Goal it should be that easy
planting the.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
Seed it's that. Easy AND i just.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
Get so mythed That i'll. Complicated we make it stop.
It just ask the person if they Know Jesus, christ
Your lord And. Savior how they, respond it's not your,
responsibility but it is your responsibility to.

Speaker 1 (20:31):
Ask ye have to ask, YES i wholly believe in
that and teach it. Regularly, Yeah i've used the analogy
AND i had a minister this crack up laughing because
it got. It i've never seen a farmer plant a,
seed fertilize the, seat and then stand there day after
day looking forward to. Grow it just doesn't. Happen you
plant the, Seed, yes, sir plant the. Seed that's. Awesome

(20:55):
do you have anything that you guys do in the
community at? Large?

Speaker 2 (20:58):
Oh, YEAH i mean what. Shucks we've we've, Sponsored we've
taken a we've taken pizza to man the fire. Station
and it's kind of funny when we feed firemen and.
Policemen they always think to Catch, no, man we're just
can we just leave the? Pieza, no there's no, Catch
we're just. Leaving we just spent two hundred dollars worth

(21:20):
of money for pizza for like three different, shifts whether
it's a police, department a fire. Department BUT i will
tell you. This we had like an event one, time
an outreach, event and, MAN i GOT i got a
ring for. It here's the reason why we had Purchased
i'm being, honest three hundred dollars worth Of kroger gift
cards and like five hundred dollars worth of speedway gas,

(21:40):
cards and we did adversement for. It we had it
at the at THE ywca and we get a. Call
we're on the way there and we get a call
from the. Manager she, goes they're. HERE i, goes what
do you mean they're? HERE i, Goes, katie what's going?
On she, goes these people are, here Doctor. Sam we pulled.
Up there had to be probably two hundred. PEOPLE i

(22:03):
just wait a. Minute the room only holds at the
most fifty or. Sixty man passed.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
Crawl you, said free. Gas oh my.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
GOSH i had. SECURITY i thought what IF i gotten
myself INTO i had, security took my wife. Out my
wife went with. THEM i TAUGHT i preach on, accepting
Offering jesus Christ. Man they destroyed that. Place they were
kicking over flower pants and THE i was responsible for the.
Bill and then a news station interviewed the people on

(22:33):
the outside and they say that low, down dirty. Pastor
they were talking about. ME i, said wait a. Minute first,
OFF i said there were limited amount of gas cards gift.
Cards SO i learned my. Lesson so we were gonna
try to do something like that again this. Year BUT
i didn't appreciate being called all those bad, names AND i.
DIDN'T i said it was a limited, amount first, come first,
serve and IF i learned my, lesson that was a

(22:54):
learned lesson from. Me.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
Man, wow, YEAH i remember a particular talk show host
giving away car and being sued for actually Giving i'm, Like,
god are you, serious they'll do. It you can't win for.
Losing oh my. Gosh so how do you integrate your
faith into your professional? Endeavors and what advice would you

(23:19):
give an individual striving to maintain their spiritual values in
pursuit of their careers and.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
SUCCESS i know it's probably, cliche but in order to be,
SUCCESSFUL i think in any, endeavor especially in, MINE i
understand That i'm here for a certain amount of, time
and WHATEVER i, DO i have to make certain to
exemplify and bring glory To. Christ And i'm telling, you

(23:46):
And i'm a living, Witness i've heard this set so many.
Times but if you make it a point to keep
The Lord Jesus christ first and what you, do you
cannot help but to be. Successful so what does it
look like throughout the? Day i'm required to call on
a certain amount of, neurologists, psychiatrists and sleep. Specialists my

(24:08):
day starts with me getting out of, bed literally Praying,
god this, Morning, lord make me successful in your eyes this.
DAY i get to an. Office there's a certain neurologist
that won't talk with, me hasn't spoken with me for.
Years all of a, sudden he wants to talk with me.
Today he's nice. TODAY i think that's the power of
me submitting my endeavors in the morning to The. LORD

(24:29):
i get to certain certain Gatekeepers university Of, Michigan, NO
i respondent for The university Of, michigan and Also Notre.
Dame certain places other seales consultants can get. In i'm getting.
IN i know it's because of me offering my life
on that day to The lord and asking for his.
Blessings so keeping him first and walking this. Out what

(24:50):
that looks. Like that looks like me just, continually you,
know dominating throughout the day and just making a difference
by helping, patients helping physicians to help their patients have
a better fulfilled quality of. Life So i'm telling, you
if you want to be, successful we start off every
single morning at LEAST i. Do And i've done this
for thirty years with The, lord And he's just allowed

(25:12):
for me just to literally just leaps and bounds. IT
i get in places other reps can get. INTO i
talk to people other repses consultants can't talk to because
they don't they won't talk with.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
Them but me and you have a not so secret.
Weapon oh, yeah oh, yeah no. Doubt. Yeah so, yeah
you're a Faith so it sounds like your dad was
probably your greatest mentor did you have any? Others?

Speaker 2 (25:34):
Yes ACTUALLY i did from church at that. Time there
was a couple of trustees at a church and. Me
he would always the guy's name was Omen. Right he
would always, say, hey, listen there's greatness in. You AND i,
Mean i'm, Young i'm a Young i'm a young. DEACON
i mean is that? Yeah you remember those? Days AND
i saw actually him OR i saw his wife and

(25:56):
him At myers In, sylvania AND i wanted to tell,
him a, man thank. You it goes for what he
goes for what you've spoken to my. Life you, know
WHEN i was, YOUNG i didn't UNDERSTAND i get, it
but that resonated with. Me and but my father would
tell me. Man he would tell me there's nothing you cannot, Do,
todd and that stuck with, me you, know SO i

(26:16):
look for challenges to overcome right. NOW i mean Because
i'm wired that he taught me what it meant to
be courageous service to other.

Speaker 1 (26:22):
People so, yeah, wow, wow that's a pretty good. Man
And i'm sure you're mentoring. Someone oh my.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
Gosh every CHANCE i get from the, Podcast i've been
the school speaking and they like to see the nice
THINGS i, have but it takes work to get that.
Right yeah's, consistent right. Exactly So i'm mentoring a couple
right now actually as we, speak AS i think.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
About, it, awesome. Awesome so what are your future goals
both for your podcast and ministry and POTENTIALLY i don't
know if you're looking forward to early.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
Retirement oh, man future. Goals, so first, off the goal
for this book is to move to, sell to get
fifty thousand units moved before the years. Out that's for
the that's FOR dykgc winning With Todd. Johnson i'm looking
Like i'm preparing the time to a contract with the
company right now with the consult BUT i gotta be

(27:15):
careful because they just have to be mindful of how
that pans, out but my passion is a lot bigger
than my. Profession so, EVENTUALLY i, want you, know to
to really focus ON dykjc because we've had it for
over twenty years and now we own the trademark and
just offer and Share christ to as many people AS

(27:38):
i can, Man BECAUSE i, MEAN i, Say i've said
this probably four or five times, NOW i know this
is not. It The trinity is a long time, right
and our goal is to Offer christ to as many
people as we're able to man before we leave Planet.
Earth so that's that's that's my overwhelming that's my that's
what burns, me that's what gets me.

Speaker 1 (27:58):
Going your, passion, yeah, man that's all having appointed time.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
And yeah trust.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
Me, yeah well that's. Great what do you think your legacy?
Is what would you like for it to?

Speaker 2 (28:10):
Be? Man the. GUY i don't want anyone to outserve.
ME i want to be the guy known for serving
any and everyone with the cheerful. HEART i don't want
want the guy anyone to say that, guy yeah he's,
served but it was. AGENCY i want people to see
the TRANS i want people to feel my transparency and
know that there's A god that lives and, loves AND

(28:32):
i want to serve like him without anything in the.
Return you, know WHEN i found out all this real
quick that when you serve like, that what you want
comes to. You you don't have to try to shister
anyone or do anything that's not. Cool, yeah a better. Work,
uh just serve, man BECAUSE i want to see people
go to heaven like. Me AND i want to see

(28:52):
people get what they deserve while they're hear of their
loving The. Lord that makes.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
