With Ramadan partly in mind, we primarily dig into sounds from the Middle East, focusing on Syria, a country that after over a decade of civil war, entered a period of relief. Alexandre Desplat's score to the 2005 film Syriana gives some Western context but we also hear some film music from Lebanon amongst other inspirations. 01.
