welcome to our first twenty twenty five episode of The
Coding Break. I am your coding coach or medical coding
coach tam talk here to discuss all things coding related,
the good, the bad, as well as the ugly. But

with this being the first episode of twenty twenty five,
I wanna talk about some of the things that are
taking place in the medical coding or a sp primarily
or specifically to what I'll be doing in twenty twenty
five as it relates to medical coding. So of course
you know we're gonna keep the uh YouTube channel going.

I'm gonna focus more so on uh case breakdowns. Let's
showing you how I would code particular scenarios as it
relates to uh uh specialty surgeries or what have you.
So if you have a particular case or serge case
or especially like that you like for me to pursue
or to break down, please feel free to share that

I see those comments all the time, so yeah, so
keep the communication going as it relates to that. So again,
of course you're going to see some remote coding breaks
again as I travel, as it relates to business medical coding,

business that is, I will be sharing that with you
as well and encouraging you to find your work life
balance by taking your coding breaks going forward. And then
of course risk adjusting. For those of you who are
in coding, you know that risk adjustment. Coding is part
of or an extension of medical coding. And so with that,

I will be talking more of sharing some information as
it relates to maintaining your health again, work life balance,
work life balance, don't be the chart that you code again,
don't be the chart that you code. So yeah, so
those are some things that are be coming down the pipeline,
or I would show I would even say maintaining nothing

has changed as it relates to what I'm doing. You
may see some aesthetic changes. Of course, we will focus
on some of the twenty twenty five coding changes, and
so I'll just do a brief overview of what's what
has changed in twenty twenty five as it relate again
as it relates to medical coding, like such as your
CPT or ICD ten codes. And also we're doing some

overhaul with our website, so I will also include like
the actual downloads of the twenty five changes, so you'll
have that as a handy tool or resource for your
twenty twenty five coding. And then also I have signed
up for him and Talk, so you may see some
short videos or quick practical videwdeos over on TikTok as

I talk about coding. Of course, if you want the
long form, then you want to tune into YouTube where
i'll again I'll be breaking down some cases are some
of the things that are specific to medical coding. And
of course if you want to take the course. Okay, okay,

videos are free. So for those of you who like

to get into some of the quick overview of the
changes of twenty and twenty five so as it relates
to CPT. Again, CPT is I call it the verb.
This is what we do. These are the like surgeries,
the evaluation and management services that are specific to coding.

So based on Google, these are some of the CPT
code set changes that have taken place. We have telemedicine.
There are new codes for telemedicines such as new audio
and video services for new and established patients. We have
digital medicine updates as it relates to remote therapeutic monitoring services.

We have augmented and artificial intelligence AI. Yes, we have
new codes classify or classifications for AI medical services as
well as procedures. Of course we're going to dabble into
general surgery. There are new codes for skin graphs, tumors, eliminations,
and basketball procedures. And of course there are new codes
for vaccines schedu Know, it seems like every year we

have something new coming down, some new disease or communicable
disease that we of course need to be vaccinated for.
So there's that now with the ICD ten which CM,
which is our diagnoses or diagnosis code set changes. There
are some changes involving the musical skelets system as well
(05:13):
as connective tissue. There's some changes as relates to diabetes
as well as anal and rectofisulus So again this is
just an overview per Google or per per Google AI
as it relates to the twenty twenty five medical coding changes.
But as I mentioned with my YouTube channel, we will
do a little more hands on you. You'll notice I'll

be providing more of some surgal core practical coding breakdowns
for you as I started, as I did when I
started my YouTube channel, but kind of evolved and I'm
going to bring it back home per request, I'm going
to bring it back home and start from the beginning again.
