Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the Cold Cases Solved Podcast, a podcast that
shares the most recent solved cold cases. Our purpose is
to help bring closure to the victims' families and hope
for those waiting for justice. Let's begin.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Have you ever wondered what your furry friend is really thinking? Well,
let me introduce to you my new book, Dog Psychology
by doctor Carlos Vasquez. As a psychology professor with over
ten years experience, I've unlocked the secrets of the canine psyche.
I will teach you how to understand your dog's body language,
to code their barks and wines, solve behavioral puzzles, and

(00:40):
strengthen your bond like never before. With Dog Psychology, you'll
see the world through your dog's eyes. Don't just be
a dog owner, become a dog whisperer. So go get
Dog Psychology by doctor Carlos Vasquez, available now on kindle
or paperback on Amazon. A Toledo man has been now

(01:09):
charged with the murder of Catherine Persei. He's been arrested
a young Cleveland mother who mysteriously vanished without a trace
in nineteen ninety seven. Michael Bukowski of Toledo is fifty
years of ages, charged with murder, in voluntary manslaughter, abduction,
tampering with evidence, and gross abuse of a corpse. Parise's
youngest daughter says, I just don't even know how somebody
sleeps the night when they do something like that. Bukowski

(01:31):
was arrested by Toledo police. Perizi, who went by Kathy,
was just twenty five years old when she was last
seen in April nineteen ninety seven. The arrest is enough,
almost enough comfort, just to know that something has happened,
said the daughter. It's been my whole entire life. I've
been dealing with this because I was a year and
ten months old when she died. I'm speechless. Perise's two daughters,
Angelina Cecilia, were young children when she went missing. Perisi

(01:54):
working as an escort and took a call in Parma,
but no one answered the door and she was never
seen again. Kathy's car was found in Brookview shopping Center
a day later. Her keys and three hundred and fifty
dollars were found inside. We believe that its something connected
with her work. He was a client, I believe, said
the daughter. Years past and Kathy's daughters grew up without

(02:14):
their mom. I can only remember our family broken, so
it's nice to have those pictures of us all together.
Four years ago and discovered that homicide Dettextas with Cleveland police,
were investigating new leads in Kathy's case. Without the Channel
nineteen story, I don't think there would be be as
successful at getting the case to move forward, said the daughter. Cecili.

(02:35):
And Angelia don't think her mom's case got enough resources
or attention at the time she went missing because of
what she did for a living. The daughters are still
waiting for answers of why this person would do such
a thing. I wanted to kind of give you a
psychological idea this individual, the alleged murderer, probably had used

(02:58):
defense mechanisms such as com mentalization. The ability to maintain
normal daily life for decades while potentially carrying a secret
suggests really strong compartmentalization skills. Also probably disassociated from the
emotional reality of the alleged actions, likely developed internal justifications
as well for the alleged actions. If you look at

(03:19):
his ego function, as we would say, his reality testing
appears intact in terms of his being able to maintain
function for twenty five years. He does have potential significant
failure of impulse control obviously during the alleged initial attack,
followed by apparently stronger control afterwards if he didn't kill
anybody else. Object relations would suggest possible severe disturbance and

(03:41):
relating to others as whole objects rather than need gratifying parts.
In other words, they split individuals and what into a
simple part as an object instead of actually being a
whole person. The long duration between the alleged act and
arrest just development of rigid defensive structures to manage the
anxiety about detection. Probably developed ritualized behaviors with thought patterns

(04:04):
to maintain psychological libert equilibrium. Again, his identity integration is weak,
possibly split self representation may demonstrate a facade of integration
while harboring significant fragmentation, which kind of gives me the
idea of antisocial personality disorder. Here, a lot of self
deception again, compromised integration of aggressive impulses, a disturbed object relation,

(04:29):
and basically disturbed how he views others, rigid defensive organization.
These are some thoughts for right now,
