Seventy eight year old man was sentenced for a murder
over forty years ago. The man charge of the brutal
murder of fifteen year old Karen Stitt STI doubt from
nineteen eighty two finally received the sentence in Santa Clara
County courtroom. The investigation went cold after decades without any
new leads before new technology and it tipped and a
tip linked Gary Ramirez to the crime back in twenty

twenty two. It has been more than forty years since
Karen was murdered. Decades later, they were present in court
to family and friends to hear Stitt's killer receive a
sentence for his crimes. Ramiers will be committed to the
Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation for a period of twenty
five years to life. He's already seventy eight, so pretty
much he'll end dying in jail. He played guilty the

the body. It was the last place where her boyfriend
saw her that night. His heinous crimes that ended her
life in such a horrific way has caused deep hearty
can continue suffering, says the boyfriend or the ex boyfriend.
The attorney for Ramirez requested that he not appear on
camera due to threats of violence if his face was shown.

Since Karen was taken away from us, he says, one
of her best friends. There have been many unanswered questions.
DNA evidence found on the Karen ultimately linked Ramirez to
the murder of four decades later. There were no significant
leads for decades until the arrest of Ramirez at his
home and the island of Maui. The killer reportedly left
both his blood and bodily flewid on Karen. Her boyfriend,

law considered a suspect, was cleared be based on the
DNA evidence. How it happened as the Sunny fails Sunny
Veil Detective Matt Hutchison used a tip to determine Karen's
killer was likely one of four brothers from Fresno. In
April twenty twenty two, Ramirez was identified as a likely
