Welcome to the Cold Cases Solved Podcast, a podcast that
shares the most recent solved cold cases. Our purpose is
to help bring closure to the victims' families and hope
for those waiting for justice. Let's begin half a century

after two fourteen year old girls vanished on a summer
day in nineteen seventy five, the Broward Sheriff Office is
finally named their killers, unmasking a chilling mystery that haunted
South Florida for generations. The BSO Cold Case Homicide Union
announced on Thursday of the resolution of the murders of
Darlene Zeterar and Barbara Schreiber, both fourteen at the time
of the deaths. The case was solved using advanced DNA testing.

BSO detective Andrew Giannino and a team of investigators from
the Crib Lab identified Robert Clarke Keebler and Lawrence Stein
as the men who murdered the girls on June in
nineteen seventy five, shortly after they completed eighth grade. Detectives
believe the girls got into a van with the two
men in Hollywood and vanished. Their bodies were discovered on
the edge of the Everglades. The following day, DNA testing

identify Keebler and Stein from samples taken from the girl's clothing.
Both men are deceased and will not stand trial for
the crimes. However, Detective Giannina said the case is considered
except the league cleared. Detectives hope that despite the passage
of time, the knowledge of who killed their loved ones
will bring a measure of peace to the family the victims.
In twenty nineteen, they created a cold case unit in

the BSO to investigate unsolved homicides and sex crimes dating
back decades. Kimberly Shreiber, Barbara's sister, expressed gratitude for the
dedication of those who saw the murder of her sister
and her sister's best friend. She lamented that her parents
and brother, who died before learning of these developments, could
not hear the news. They'd be so happy that somebody

never gave up. They said, so again, we have closure
on this story. Thank goodness that they did find who
did it. Unfortunately they both passed away. The least disclosure
