Speaker 1 (00:01):
What's she doing.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Looking at this app that I downloaded yesterday?
Speaker 3 (00:07):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (00:07):
What is it?
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Pass four wallet?
Speaker 3 (00:10):
So at my work, we have a we call it
the marketplace, but it's a one of those like self
served type of you know. It has a bunch of
like a refrigerator then or a freezer and then a
bunch of refrigerators and.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Like snacks and stuff that you can buy, yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Stuff from but it's a third party thing and.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
You they'll give out like you can win coupons to it.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
You know, you can pay with cash, you can pay
with your Apple cart, but you can also win. They'll
give out like five dollars ten dollars coupons to the
marketplaces they call it.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
In order to do that, you have to have a barcode. Now,
when I.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
Set mine up, I wasn't told that I can just
use the barcode that's on my badge to do it.
They actually gave me this little barcode that you put
on a key chain. I don't carry my keys or
anything with me, so I haven't used the So I
had it like on my badge, but I switched to
(01:20):
a different badge holder and it doesn't really fit to
work with the badge holder. So I've just had it
at the house and last night I was like, I
was wondering if there's a way to get it into
Apple pay or not Apple pay wallet. Yeah, yeah, So
I looked it up and sure enough, there's this. There's
a few apps, but this is the first one I
(01:42):
just saw that somebody recommended on Reddit, just called pass
for wallet, and so far I like it. There's like
no sign up for this account or this or that.
It's literally just straightforward. I just opened it up and
you give it the name of the the card, scan
the barcode, and then just add to wallet and boom,
(02:06):
it just adds a.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Just adds a barcode to the wallet. Okay, so I
can just with my phone and not.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
Have to have the stupid card with me. There you go, right,
And it has other features That's what I was looking
at in it. So you can do because this is
a store card, you can do coupons, tickets, boarding passes,
contact card, personal something, COVID passport. Like I don't know
how much I trusted with more information. I don't know
much about the app. I don't know much, but it's
(02:38):
like I can trust it for a simple thing that's
only at my work that isn't attached to any credit
card or anything.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
Yeah, buddy, right, I thought that was pretty cool. It's
pretty rad. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
Just downloaded last night and just added the one card,
and today it was just like, I wonder what actually
else it can do?
Speaker 4 (03:01):
What else could it possibly do?
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Right? I'm trying to think of if there's anything else
that I could add to it.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
I don't really know. I don't really coupon much. You
don't have too many like loyalty cards or anything to scan.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
I mean, you only really shop at one place, Joe, So.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
This is true. This is true, you.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
Only need one.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
And then again they have their own apps, so it
doesn't really matter.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
They have their own app.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
And even when I use the Fry's gas station. Uh,
I just entered my phone number, it doesn't like I
don't even scan anything there.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Exactly.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Mhm, you don't worried about the gas station thing?
Speaker 1 (03:53):
What's up?
Speaker 2 (03:55):
So do you shop at Fries? Right?
Speaker 1 (03:57):
Yes, sir?
Speaker 3 (03:58):
Does anyone else in your house tropic Fries and have
like their own app?
Speaker 4 (04:04):
I think, well, Paige and I have one, and then
the mom has one, but she doesn't ever use it
because she goes to the Walmart neighborhood and market because
it's closer and she doesn't want to go anywhere.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
No, I only mentioned it because I thought it was weird,
like since we had switched over to my brother got
the electric vehicle and whatnot, he was he made mention that, hey,
you know, since he doesn't use gas anymore, or anytime
that I want to use the points or gas, I
can just enter in his phone number and get the
points because he usually makes more purchases or larger purchases
(04:40):
that prize than I do on a weekly basis. Well,
we were going through because he was like, oh man,
I should have this many points, and he was looking
at he was looking at his field points in his app,
and we had the exact same amount of points. And
we found out that if you have the same address
(05:01):
listed in Fry in the Fries app, it just combines
the points.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
So even though he has considers you a household.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
Exactly, it considers us a household. Yeah, even that though
he has his own sign in and everything and his
own phone number, because we share the same address, I
just got his points anyway. So that just means that
for years now that I've been using this, we've just
been sharing.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
Points, okay, all right, well right, I mean that's a
that's a thing.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
I guess.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
It's also a testament to make sure that you update
your addresses in the apps when you move, because or
get lucky and you find you find somebody else that
makes larger purchases than you and fries and then you
just share their points and you just steal all their points.
Never never say a word exactly, because it's not something
(06:00):
I would think of, like I'd move and just be like, oh, yeah,
I guess I just don't get frized coupons at my
house whatever.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
You know, I hardly or ever remember to use those
coupons anyway.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
But yeah, if you want to want to make sure
that you save your points, change your address.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
Change your address, well that's good for just you know,
common life too.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Oh yeah, no, it's it's definitely good anytime that you move,
make sure that you change the address to all of
you your.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
Loyalty programs and whatnot, so that you can make sure
that you're getting everything correctly. I just thought this is
a this is a particularly weird one because it just
automatically goes, oh, they're living at the same house, they
have different logins.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
Ah fucking whatever.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
Sure, it's I mean, it's great for families, but terrible
for roommates.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
Yeah, exactly right, because if you wouldn't have known that,
if if you and I would live together both chopping fries,
and it's just as like, oh yeah, they're living in
the same household anyway, share field points. So you could
go off in one day and be like, oh shit,
I have like sixty cents worth of fuel points saved
(07:13):
up us, and I'd be like, well, fuck, I'm fucked.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Where all my fuel points got.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
My few points at.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
They don't exist, Joseph.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
Nope, they were never there to begin with. Yeah anyway,
all right, so how you've been this week?
Speaker 1 (07:32):
Ah? Good, good good. So we did not feel like
it was a week though.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
Yeah, it was a little weird.
Speaker 4 (07:42):
But like I last night, when I was like sitting there,
we were playing Kirby Forgotten Lands nice, and I was like,
oh shit, I have to.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
Send out the text for recording yep.
Speaker 4 (07:56):
And then I was like and for some reason I
was like, man, I hope Joe's still awake, and I
was like eight thirty. I was like the fuck time
that I think it was.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
M right eleven o'clock at night. I'm sleeping.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
Then yeah, I was like, oh god. So I was like, oh, okay,
and then I was like, I don't know, it's fine.
And then I made fun of Mike.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
Right he said he was going to join us last
week and then never did whatever he was doing last week.
Oh seriously. Yeah, no, I agree. This week kind of
went a little weird. I think it's just because you
know that you're going in, well, do you have a
three day weekend?
Speaker 1 (08:35):
No, I have a two day weekend.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
You just had a regular two day because it just
so happened to have a yeah, Monday, Monday. Yeah, no,
they decided to close the uh I don't know if
they closed the whole depot. I'm pretty sure they did,
but they closed the services side of everything for Monday.
And it's like, okay, three day weekend. So everything is
(08:57):
just like I just want to get to a three
day week and just three day weekend. Oh god, come on,
let's go. So at times things would go fast, and
then other times things would just like be super fucking
slow because you're just trying to get through the week
just to get to the three day weekend.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
Those are the worst. It's like that that lull before vacation.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
Yeah, but here we are here, we are deep, and
it's so much clear obscurity yesterday.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
Yeah, game is actually really fun.
Speaker 4 (09:31):
I've seen a lot of people streaming online. I haven't
watched the play it, but I've seen a lot of
people streaming it online. M h, it looks cool. I
mean the little bits that I've seen, like snippets of people.
I mean again, I haven't watched anybody actually play it.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
Yeah, but don't get me wrong.
Speaker 3 (09:48):
It's hard, but it has that type of challenge that's
like it feels like I'm fucking up rather than the game.
The game is just really difficult. Yeah, and that's just
because the ability to parry attack or dodge attacks or
jump over attacks, and it's just like, well I missed that.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
I fucked up right there. Yeah. Yeah, it's fun.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
If you're into any type of barpgs, I would definitely
say play it, especially since it's available on game Pass.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
You have the game.
Speaker 4 (10:17):
Pass, Yeah, I do have game Pass, Yeah, you do.
Game Pass actually has quite a few good games that
are out and coming out.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
Actually, did you finish a Doom?
Speaker 4 (10:34):
I have not played it again since I haven't really
played any games this week.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
Oh it's a really off week for you.
Speaker 4 (10:41):
Yeah, I'm feeling you. It's just fucking terrible, and for
no reason whatsoever other than just fucking work and ship.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
When I saved that article, I have no idea.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
I was good to bring up where to go this one?
Speaker 4 (11:03):
Oh yeah, it's not the article I was usually looking for,
but that's cool. So, speaking of game Pass, Microsoft added
over fifty retro classic games the game Pass, Grand Prix, Commando,
and Pitfaller, among dozens of nineteen eighties and nineties classics
added to game Pass. So when you go on you
(11:26):
look at you. There's a thing called Retro Classics Collection
now available to all game Pass subscribers, and it literally
has there's a teaser trailer you can watch that doesn't
really do it too much justice if you, I mean
look at it, because like, oh, yeah, I know these, but.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
They have added a lot of different things to it.
But like mech Warrior two is on there, which is wild.
Speaker 4 (11:53):
But yeah, I mean it's a I mean there's the
list of games obviously fucking outstand. I mean, it's over
fifty games, but it has like a bunch of cool,
like it's got Zork on it only sh yeah, which.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
I thought was really cool. But also it is like
text adventures type on there.
Speaker 4 (12:12):
I guess, and you could connect a keyboarder you have
to use the on screen one. But it's like, yeah,
there's like Baseball's on there. Boxing, I mean, there's Checkers, Commando,
Cosmic Arc, Dolphins on there, Dragster. I mean, there's a
(12:36):
ton of fucking games on there. Mech Warrior, MechWarrior two,
thirty first Century Combat, Uh, Pitfall one and two.
Speaker 5 (12:47):
There's just a ton. It's pretty rad how these games
will play. I mean obviously they play well, but just
like they're so old. Yeah, it's gonna be weird. Try
to pull up images some of it because some of
these are like old.
Speaker 4 (13:01):
Oh yeah yeah, I mean you have a bridge and
fucking Grand Prix and Ship are definitely Pitfall, I mean
Pitfall one and two two. I mean they're not even
that drastically different, but they're graphically different when you look
at them.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
That's gonna be weird. But I thought it was pretty cool.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
I saw the trailer and I thought was like I
thought at first, I was like, oh, retro classic they're
gonna be like a bunch of like Xbox original games
or whatever, like back like the original Xbox. I was
like hell yeah, and they clicked on. I was like, wait,
is that grand? Oh my god? These are retro retro games.
Like when you say retro games, they're actually retro games.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
I was like, that's cool.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
So right, oh, there they are zoom in zom damn.
They're like a Tari style.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
Oh yeah, yeah, for sure.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
I'm a perserker. Give me a berserker. I used to
play the hell out of Berserker on my old Atari
twenty six hundred. I think it's what I had.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
Yeah, probably.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
Anyway, that's cool.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (14:20):
So like just in the last like handful of weeks, uh,
they've added the Division two. Actually, I think Division two
hasn't re hit it yet. It's either this weekend or
the beginning of next week.
Speaker 1 (14:33):
Or this week.
Speaker 4 (14:34):
But they added a brand new game, which I don't
know if you ever played the first one. It's a sequel.
It's called uh oh, Jesus Christ. What was it called
something Savage Planet?
Speaker 3 (14:50):
Something Savage Planet. Savage Planet sounds familiar.
Speaker 4 (14:53):
Is I played the first one, and I can't think
I've played the first one. I can't think it's called
fucking called.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
Now is not the LucasArts.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
No, no, it's a it's a newer game.
Speaker 3 (15:08):
Oh no, that's probably wrong too, the Ice one.
Speaker 1 (15:12):
The no, no, not Last Planet.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
Last Planet. Yeah, that's what I was thinking of.
Speaker 4 (15:18):
What the hell is it called Escape from the Savage Planet?
Well see the sequel is called Revenge of the Savage.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
Planet Journey to the Savage Planet.
Speaker 4 (15:27):
Yeah, yeah, that's the one. It's a fun game. And
so it's like this basically like Souls type game in
a way.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
So basically.
Speaker 4 (15:38):
It has a mix between a mix of a feel like.
The feel of the game isn't Souls like. It's basically
the fact that you like, when you die, you get resurrected, well,
you get you get reprinted, and you can go back
to the point of your death and you can actually
like there's a marker and you can actually bury your body,
which is hilarious. Okay, and you can also pick up
(15:59):
resources that were there. But uh, the so the premise
of the game quickly is basically, you get you are
You sign up for this job through the corporation who
is basically this they're the fourth best intergalactic exploration company okay,
and it has a very Hitchhiker's Diet of a galaxy
(16:23):
Rick and Morty type feel to it, where it's like
tongue in cheek and very crude and stuff like that.
But basically go on there and you land on this
planet that is unknown, and you're one of many and
you basically have to explore this planet and find resources.
(16:44):
But find you find out that you're to move on.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
Your ship has.
Speaker 4 (16:49):
Been damaged and you have to basically fix it. So
your computer system is identifying material around the planet you
can use to fix it. So as you go through,
you upgrade your ship and you grade your abilities and
your your weapons and stuff like that. And so you
go through and it's basically you stumble upon a mystery
of the planet, uh, and like these alien architecture and
(17:12):
things like that. It's pretty fun, but it's very it's
like a very funny uh like like I said, tongue
in cheek satires game with like it even has like
fake commercials and stuff for products, uh. And then like
this swarm thing. But then one of the fun things
you can do is I started I played it. They
played the first one once before and I loved it,
(17:36):
but then they really re released it again on game Pass,
but as like the the full version, so are not
the the the ultimate version or whatever it's called. I
have like DLC, which I haven't actually played yet because
I wanted to replay the the game because apparently my
original save doesn't bring any across to this version, so
I don't have all my gadgets and stuff. So I
was like, oh, all right, well I guess I'm gonna
(17:58):
do this. So I was replaying it, and then other
stuff happens, so I never actually finished it again. Uh
even play the DLC. But the second one's coming out.
I mean, this one's actually co op. But it's pretty
fun because it's just like it's just a fun, ridiculous game.
Uh that's you know, it's one of those ones that
it's just a good, good time to have. But it's
(18:20):
a it's like a it has a platform we cap
like platform or stuff in it where you can you know, uh,
jump around stuff. There's puzzle stuff you have to figure
out and things like that, and collectibles to get and
enemy types to figure.
Speaker 1 (18:35):
Out how to defeat and things like that.
Speaker 4 (18:36):
So cool. Yeah, it's fun. So that they added that
one to game Pass. Uh just recently download it, haven't
played it yet because you know that's what I do.
But then obviously there's Doom Dark Dark Ages came out,
Uh the Claibskira game.
Speaker 1 (18:59):
That Joe was talking about, but he's been playing.
Speaker 4 (19:01):
Exhibition thirty three. What else is on there? They did
something called Monster Train two, which I didn't even know.
There is a Monster Trained one, but I don't know
every game they ever came out, but I saw a
bunch of things like, oh, everyone's excited for Monster Trained Too.
Is like, what the fuck is Monster Trained Too? It
turns out it's a game apparently. So like there's that one.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
News zapp has failing me.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
When it's bringing up So I'm just gonna bring up
the fucking app.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
Thank you. I will colleck that reward Xbox.
Speaker 4 (19:41):
So like recently added, Uh, there's this new game which
is what spurred me to bring this up, called Tales
of Kinzera Zau.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
I don't know. It's like everyone's like, oh, it's like.
Speaker 4 (19:52):
This new action uh like imaginative Action RPG uh aim
or whatever.
Speaker 5 (20:01):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (20:01):
I was like, okay, whatever, but yeah, there's retro classics
Monster Trained to police simulator, Patrol Officer, Firefighter simulator to
the Squad whatever, Coulbera, The Souls of Limbo, Dooms, Dark Ages,
Warhammer Vermitide two, which I was thinking about checking out.
Revenge of the Savage Planet. Uh, The Turtles Ninja Turtles
(20:27):
Mutant Mutants Unleashed.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
Was on there.
Speaker 4 (20:30):
Uh, Call Duty Modern Warfare two, the remake remaster, no remake,
right to remake.
Speaker 3 (20:39):
Technically, I think it's technically a remake because that's what
they've been doing and kind of failing at in my opinion.
Speaker 1 (20:46):
Yeah, well, you know whatever.
Speaker 4 (20:49):
Then obviously they brought out Elder Scrolls for Oblivion remaster.
Far Cry four was re added to it, Grand Theft
Auto five, all versions of it for like Everybody enhanced,
as well as Legacy for both PC and console Blueprints,
(21:10):
which we briefly talked about before on here. So like
South of Midnight, which is a new new game which
I actually want to check out too. It's the ones
like set in like in the South during like this
weird like magic Apocalypse thing that has a really cool
art style. It's very like cell shaded but like almost
(21:31):
to me, it looks like they made Aleika movie into
a game, so like a core line and Kubo and
the two two strings type game type animation. So yeah,
so that's like the recently added ones and then like
coming soon to game Pass, like I said, the Division
(21:52):
two is coming back to game passause I think it
was on there before. To a t is a new
game that everyone was talking about, which again led me
to looking at some of these games. The other day,
Warm Air forty thousand Space Marine Mastercraft Edition there was
(22:13):
obviously coming up in July is Tony Hawk's pro Skater
three and four, which is listed on there. So yeah,
like just like a little cool games they added on there,
and like they're just apparently adding more like all the time,
so like that's pretty rad, pretty pretty fun. So I
think we were talking about the other week where you
(22:34):
hadn't got rid of it, but now they're actually putting
more stuff on there that is you know.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
Yeah, they're actually making it harder to get rid of.
Speaker 3 (22:42):
Like I said, they added they dropped clear Obscure, and
it's like, oh, well, you know, I can play that.
Speaker 2 (22:46):
It's actually been really fun.
Speaker 3 (22:47):
And honestly, I'm looking at South of Midnite and just
the description that I was reading of it, which I
clicked away from where was it was just that it
said something about Southern Gothic story and it's like that
actually sounds really cool.
Speaker 4 (23:05):
Yeah, if you watch the trailer, it's pretty rad. Like
it basically you have this I don't know what. I
don't know the full story of it because I have
played it, but you.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
Have this like.
Speaker 4 (23:15):
Enchanted artifact of some sort that apparently has been passed
down through your family or something like that, I think again,
I'm not too sure. And then that gives you the
ability to do like that's like your weapon and your
mode of transportation and in like low commotion type device,
so you can use it to like teleport yourself using
different things, or use it to you know, get across
(23:38):
like a path you can't normally get through whatever. I'm
guessing it probably gets upgraded with abilities and stuff down
the line. Again I don't know, but you basically are
on this mission. I think it's to save the world.
I'm not too sure, but gorgeous animation, the cut scenes
(23:59):
are pretty rad. The actual gameplay mechanics look pretty cool.
But it's like a kind of like a hacking slashish
type thing where you kind of combo moves that you
can do different effects with your magic artifact thingy. It's
a terrible way of describing it, but I don't like
I said, I don't know too much about it, but.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
Right, but no, I just like the aesthetic of it
looks pretty cool. It has that. It does look very like.
Speaker 3 (24:29):
Because the article here I finally found it, it's from
screen rant that apparently the title was South of Midnite
was so close to being Xbox version of this hit
PlayStation exclusive.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
I don't know what they're talking about.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
Didn't get far enough into the article, but the first
line just says South of Midnite did a lot of
things right with a nuanced and well written story that
features an extremely original concept that delves into Southern Gothic
themes in novel ways. But it has that like American
southern bayou type of look to it, which is pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (25:00):
The trailer they released earlier this year, I believe it was,
or no, actually think it was a game.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
Was it games Calm last year? I don't remember what it.
Speaker 4 (25:11):
Was, but was it basically like a trailer slash like
gameplay type thing, and basically it shows like you have
to you're you're writing with this, like on this your
like companion as part, Like I don't think it's through
the whole game. I think it's through this one part,
but it's like this, like I think it's a frog
(25:34):
that like it's a giant frog basically is like letting,
like helping you get around the marsh area. But then
there's like this gator that you have to like confront,
but you have to get to like this church to
ring this bell or something.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (25:48):
It's again it's I don't know all the details.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
But it just looked cool.
Speaker 4 (25:52):
But then he shows you kind of gameplay going through
and it's in fighting enemies in a little bit of
a boss fight.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
But it was just a really cool.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
Keep going.
Speaker 4 (26:00):
It just looks like a cool, like fun adventure type game.
I was trying to think of what is that. It
reminds me of Beyond Good and Evil That's what it was.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
Ah, yeah, I'm trying to think.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
Of the game. I was like, what the fuck is
that game?
Speaker 3 (26:16):
The animation is pretty cool because while it looks like
a weird it's hard to describe, but it seems like
a claymation type animation, like a very high fidelity claymation
type like.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
Are like yeah, I think you mentioned coreline, right, yeah, yeah, yea.
The animation style, it feels.
Speaker 4 (26:34):
Like a bunch of the I would refer to them
as like the likea the like a series of movies,
because they are. It does look like stop motion in
a way, but like you know, because it has that
a little bit of a herky jerkiness to it, but
it's just but it also has like a real.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
Smoothness to the animation, which is really cool. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (26:59):
So yeah, I thought it was a pretty dope looking
so that game. That game seemed like it might be
a fun Yeah.
Speaker 3 (27:07):
So it's they're making it hard for me. I know,
I've said that I need to cancel it. I'm going
to cancel it because I haven't been using it. And
then suddenly it's like, well shit, they've just been adding
stuff to fucking game pass.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
It's like, well, I guess not this month.
Speaker 4 (27:19):
It's one of those things too, is like as long
as you to in my brain, I haven't really done
it too much. But like if you download one of
these games, at least play a little bit of it,
it's like you saved yourself sixty seventy bucks, because even
if you don't like it, you know.
Speaker 3 (27:34):
That was the problem. Is like, for the longest time
I had this and I was not using it. I
swear for most of twenty twenty four I didn't even
use it. They just didn't have anything on there that
was very compelling, and I get eventually at a certain
point it was just like, nah, I'm just gonna Indiana
Jones is going to come out, and then I'm just
(27:55):
going to cancel it because there's nothing else compelling on here,
even them now saying Doom the Dark Ages and whatnot.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
It was just like, nah, you know.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
Yeah type of thing.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
Maybe pick that up when it gets when it gets
cheaper whatever. It's not like the Doom games have been like,
oh my god, I need to go out and play
those day one. But that's not even how I played
Doom twenty sixteen. I think I played it it launched,
and then like a year later it hit game passed
and that's when I played it type of thing. But
(28:31):
then yeah, they drop a clear Obscurer, then the yes Doom,
Dark Ages and this, and it's just like and then
they have a bunch of more announcements like you mentioned
they're dropping more games, and it's just like, Okay, yeah,
you're making it a bit harder for me to like
not justify twenty dollars a month for you know, a game.
As long as I'm as long as you keep giving
(28:52):
me games that are that I can play every month,
then yeah, I'm definitely saving money.
Speaker 4 (28:59):
I mean, as long as uh u Powerwatch Simulators on there,
I'm probably gonna always keep it. And if they put
Powerwatch Simulator two on there, Joe.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
Oh my god, dude, fucking done. I'm done.
Speaker 2 (29:08):
He's got to buy two subscriptions.
Speaker 1 (29:09):
Dah.
Speaker 4 (29:10):
I'm telling you right now. I love that game so much,
and I'm so excited about the new one, and like
because it's messed up because like obviously like Borland's four
is coming out and it's an eighty dollars fucking bass
game was just absolutely fucking ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
Dude.
Speaker 2 (29:24):
Oh so they actually announced it's eighty dollars.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
Yeah, fucking eighty dollars.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
And then Randy Pitchford came out and made the fucking
dumbest ass statement that you could possibly make. He's like,
true true fans will find a way. I'm like, dude,
come on.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
Bro, that's the last I had heard of. It's somebody
on I think it was last night.
Speaker 3 (29:40):
I was reading something or or watching something where somebody
had had tweeting and had, you know, hey, you know,
can you make sure that it's not an expensive game?
And then he tweeted exactly that He's He's like, one,
I don't have any uh inmplot into how expensive it is.
And two, if you're a true fan of the game,
you would you would scrimp and save any way for it.
(30:03):
And it's like that is so out of touch.
Speaker 4 (30:05):
Yeah, it's like, what's wrong with you? Yeah, it's like, dude,
come on, man, like, don't say that. Shit makes me
like almost not want to get it.
Speaker 3 (30:17):
Because the problem with that statement too, And that's something
I'm just thinking of right now, so I could be
slightly wrong. Is it's not like I even own the
goddamn game. Most people are gonna be buying this digital.
You know, there's probably still a contingent of people out
there that do pay for physical media, but a.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
Lot of it's still digital.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
Yeah, and where I don't.
Speaker 2 (30:35):
Even actually own the goddamn game.
Speaker 3 (30:37):
In a year now, they could just be like, yeah, sorry, guys,
we just turned off the servers, you don't have it anymore.
Speaker 1 (30:41):
Yeah. I was like, oh yeah, we're gone.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
Yeah, we're gonna pull it from Xbox. We're gonna pull
it from here.
Speaker 3 (30:46):
There's gonna be countries where, yeah, they have to allow
me to keep the game, but that's not in the
United States, you know, so.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
They could literally pull it. They could literally pull you know.
Speaker 3 (30:57):
It could be server based where I have to check
in everyone once in a while with the servers, and
if the server's no longer there, it's not my game anymore.
So I just dropped eighty bucks for something I can't play.
So it's even more infuriating in that statement of like, well,
if you're fan, you'll find a way. It's like, motherfucker,
I don't own these things. You've explicitly made it, so
I don't own these things anymore.
Speaker 1 (31:18):
Yep. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (31:20):
It was like I was like, dude, like it makes me.
It makes me like like I'm still I haven't even
pre ordered yet, Like I'm I might have orders.
Speaker 2 (31:27):
I'm never going to pre order a game.
Speaker 1 (31:29):
Any Oh yeah for sure.
Speaker 3 (31:30):
No, But I was like, ninety percent of pre orders
don't come with anything physical anymore.
Speaker 4 (31:36):
Oh yeah, for sure, unless you buy like a five
hundred dollars addition that comes with the statute.
Speaker 2 (31:40):
Of some shit exactly, and they're just a lot of them.
Speaker 3 (31:45):
It feels like these days are just a crap shoot
on whether you're gonna even even if you do get
a physical item, whether it's going to be actually halfway
decent or not. Like the Bethesda Bungle is still something
in my mind where they're just like, you get this
really nice in this bag, and then when they actually
got the people got their pre orders, it's a fucking
cheap ass nylon thing and they're just like, well, yes,
(32:07):
but you.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
Just got to accept it. It's like, no, you fucking idiots.
Speaker 1 (32:11):
Yeah, it's like no, bro, I don't.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
No, I don't.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
Yeah, well it's same thing it was like right now, Like.
Speaker 4 (32:19):
It's a terrible time for me because like I don't
know when Powerwatch similar two is actually coming out. It's
supposed to be this year sometime. I don't know if
it's gonna be on game Pass, so I might have.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
To drop.
Speaker 2 (32:30):
Simulator one launch on game Pass.
Speaker 4 (32:32):
See, I don't know, because I think it did. I'd
have to look up and see if it was, because
like I just randomly played like started playing it because
like I saw a video and I was like, this
looks like mindless fun right.
Speaker 1 (32:44):
Yeah, and it was. It was fantastic.
Speaker 4 (32:48):
So I'm glad I took because a lot of times
I don't ever like I don't take a chance on
a lot of those games. I'm like, ah, whatever, right,
if it's not fucking something I can sink my teeth into.
Uh you know, if I can't shoot some fun bad
guy in the face or whatever, you usually don't tend
to go that way or stab him or punch him
or shield him to death. Whatever you know, happens to
be your mechanism for exacting justice on the ones that
(33:10):
need it. But uh uh, I was like, whatever, you know,
it seems kind of cool. I think I saw like
some guy, uh draw penis in the dirt on like
TikTok or Instagram or some shit. So I was like, well,
I could I could do that. I could draw Dixon dirt.
Speaker 1 (33:29):
Now I was kidding.
Speaker 4 (33:29):
That was a video I saw later on, But I
was like, this seems kind of like a fun little thing.
So I got it, and I was like, and page
can contest this, Like I played the first time I
downloaded it, well, so classic Cody. I downloaded it, waited
for like three weeks to play it, because you know,
I was so excited. I'm like, oh, download, I'll play it,
and I like just didn't play it because I was
(33:51):
probably playing Destiny some fucking shit. And then so I
was like, oh, you know, she was at work or something,
and so I started playing it. And then she gets
home from work at like ten thirty at night and
she's go, oh, how long have you been playing this?
And I was like, no, not that long. And I
was like, wait, you're home from work.
Speaker 1 (34:09):
She's like yeah.
Speaker 2 (34:09):
I'm like, like, what year is it.
Speaker 1 (34:12):
I was like, I think I've been playing this like
five hours.
Speaker 4 (34:13):
She goes what I was like, yeah, yikes. So and
then that and then obviously they've added a lot of stuff,
and I've paid money for stuff because the DLC isn't free,
it's just discounted through game Pass. But when I got it,
and again I don't remember, I don't I'd have to
look up and see when it was added to game Pass.
(34:34):
But when I got it, it actually had some free
DLC already.
Speaker 1 (34:39):
Uh with it, because there was the the.
Speaker 4 (34:42):
Tomb Raider one and the Final Fantasy one was down there,
and then the muck Files I think one or one
and two were on there already, okay, and those were
free through game Pass, which was cool. I was like, oh,
that's fucking this more stuff, right, And then since then
(35:02):
they've added several I mean they've had added the SpongeBob one,
the Shrek one, Warhammer, and a botan back to the Future.
Speaker 1 (35:11):
I bought all.
Speaker 4 (35:11):
Those ones and they were rad and they're only like
seven bucks or some ship for the DLC. So like
they've definitely, like with those ones, have got me to
pay for like almost the entire game, but it's definitely
worth it. And like they even like the free stuff
they put out too, because they started doing like seasonal
content stuff like they do Christmas ones and Halloween ones
where it's just a single map, but it's it's just
(35:34):
you know, it's a free little thing to play. They
even did a summertime one where you were you had
to clean a cruise ship like the deck of a
party party boat.
Speaker 1 (35:41):
Was a pretty cool.
Speaker 4 (35:45):
Yeah, some of the maps are pretty pretty big, but yeah,
So then they have the Muckingham Files, which are like
three or four maps for free as well. So like
there's a lot of obviously cool stuff because it's like
sort of a live service game, but like not a
live service game, Like there's live service stuff they add
to it all the time, but you don't have to
(36:06):
pay for like you're not buying a season pass for
anything like that.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
So I thought was pretty rad.
Speaker 4 (36:11):
So, like I'm excited about the second one because they've
adding so much more and they're actually making the game better,
like with a like visuals and effects and stuff where
like if you spray the dirt like it's it's caked
on dirt, you can actually see absorbed the water and
they can clean off easier. But also when you use
soap on it, it actually foams up on it and then
you have to spray it off. Like in the first game,
(36:33):
if you just use the soap, it eventually just kind
of works its way off, right or or like chips
away at it, and then you go back and you
just spray off the like, but this actually has the
foam soap on there, and then you spray the soap off.
And what's cool about it is they actually built in
physics into the dirt. So anything that like you spray
with the that has the soap on it that gets
(36:54):
wiped away, but the rest of the dirt around it
that doesn't have the soap doesn't, so it's like there's
like more of a cleaning ability to it. So I
was like, that's fucking rad. So I'm pretty excited about
that obviously. And it's like got pretty cool co op option.
The first one I co op in it too, but
I guess the new one has like drop in co op.
I actually think the first one I drop in co
(37:15):
op too anyways, But yeah, so that's that'd be fun.
But the new one has like a you actually because
throughout the first game you're actually in the story, which
is bizarre to say, Uh, you're actually building up your
company of the of the of the Powerwash. So in
the second one you have a facility and you actually
get to customize it. Yeah, so that's pretty rad. Uh
(37:38):
And then hopefully they do some of the story because
the first the one in the first game, actually had
a wild story that was just ridiculous as you played
through it if you pay attention to it. And I'm
really excited to see what kind of like uh DLC
they get for it, like with the partnerships they had
in the first one like just ridiculous. So then there's
(38:01):
that again, don't know the price, don't know the act
release date, but sometime this year they've already said it.
Then there's the new Destiny uh stuff that's coming out
on my birthday.
Speaker 2 (38:15):
Oddly enough, they're actually still releasing Destiny stuff. I thought
they were done.
Speaker 4 (38:18):
So they're done with the main saga. They're actually about
to start a brand new storyline. That's like they're basically
like trying to make it. I mean, it's still Destiny,
so it's still gonna have like kind of the same
formula in a way, but they're doing non linear storytelling,
so you don't have to go mission a mission, like
you basically like there'll be one starting mission and then
(38:40):
from there you get to trying to choose.
Speaker 1 (38:41):
Where you want to go.
Speaker 4 (38:42):
But eventually all of them kind of like linked to
the same thing, right, I guess is what they're saying.
But it's basically like essentially they're kind of doing like
a Destiny three point zero in a way.
Speaker 3 (38:53):
Say this sounds like like like they didn't know what
to do for Destiny three, and they've gotten so much
flak for Destiny too, that they're just like, well, let's
extend this out a little bit while we figure things out.
Speaker 1 (39:04):
Yeah, it's like they're doing a lot with it.
Speaker 2 (39:06):
Pretty sorry.
Speaker 3 (39:08):
They're also getting pretty hammered with Apparently Marathon.
Speaker 2 (39:12):
Just experienced a.
Speaker 3 (39:16):
Open beta I think it is, and people are just
trashing that as well.
Speaker 4 (39:21):
Yeah, because we talked of this before, they decided to
make Marathon a extraction shooter.
Speaker 2 (39:27):
Yeah, which makes no sense to me.
Speaker 4 (39:30):
Yeah, like I don't like that genre really hasn't taken off.
You can ask Doctor Disrespect about that, but.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
It's hard to get into.
Speaker 3 (39:38):
Like it's just the ones that have come out people
love so much, and then these other ones that that have.
Speaker 2 (39:44):
Have been released are just so bland.
Speaker 3 (39:49):
Like watching h watching gameplay of Marathon was just like
everything looks so like, yeah, it's stylized, but it's just
so bland.
Speaker 1 (39:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (40:00):
Yeah, it's like they I don't know, man, I just
I'm also not like that, Like yeah, so like I'm
not really that interested in it. I wasn't even like
when they first brought it out. I felt like because
I don't think they originally announced it being an extraction shooter.
Speaker 1 (40:14):
They were more of like a PvP like arena game.
Speaker 4 (40:18):
And I was like, all right, well I don't give
two fucks about that because that's not very attractive to
me at all. But yeah, and then now they're like
they're gett they're getting shipped on for that. Then now
they're getting a lawsuit because there it looks like they
use stolen so like that's a whole thing. So that's
fun for Bungee. And then and then they're also still
(40:39):
fighting a lawsuit about copyright infringement on the Red War
story they use for the opening story arc of Destiny
too nice, So like that's still going on. So it's
like a it's like I don't like the base expansion.
Just like every you know, every year they do it,
it's like sixty bucks or whatever, and if you buy
(40:59):
the ultimate version, it's a hundred bucks, but you get
like the all the DLC.
Speaker 1 (41:05):
All fun stuff.
Speaker 4 (41:06):
And they have some cool stuff, Like they have a
Star Wars themed one coming out in November December somewhereund
there that's basically like inspired by Star Wars but will
actually have Star Wars things in it. Like they have
a blaster that looks like Han Solo's blaster, So it's
not just like cosmetics.
Speaker 1 (41:23):
This time, because they did cosmetics last year.
Speaker 4 (41:26):
Where that you can get like a like a Stormtrooper,
death Trooper, and an Imperial Guard outfit for the different classes.
But then they had like one of the ships you
get looks like a tie fighter, one of the sparrows
looks like a speeder. They had emotes that were like
lightsaber duels.
Speaker 1 (41:46):
Stuff like that was cool.
Speaker 4 (41:48):
Whatever, right, and I'm not gonna spend real money on
so definitely not gonna buy them. They did have a
they did have a ghost shell that was a fucking
death Star two and right with a little eyeball for
the is that the laser actually projects like it's shooting.
Oh dude, it's so cool. But I'm like, I'm not
spending more money on this anyways. So in this this
time the second major expansion of the game. So there's
(42:11):
two major expansions in this game. There's the first one,
which launches on July fifteenth, and then in I think
they said it was December is when the second one launches.
Speaker 1 (42:24):
And they're doing a.
Speaker 4 (42:24):
Bunch of free stuff in between two, which is really
cool of them to do that will actually add stuff
to the game, not just like oh, play this mode
or whatever. It's gonna be like this these new events.
But the next one is called Renegades and it's Star
Wars themed. But they're actually gonna have Star Wars themed
weapons that you can get. So there's a sword you
can get that's a fucking lightsaber and it makes the
(42:47):
lightsaber sounds. I don't know it's So the one they
show is green, but it may just like a lot
of weapons, it may change depending what shader you put
on it, because they'd use rb r r rbg RGB
color changing a lot of the stuff. Now because you
get some armor that has like light up effects on it,
(43:07):
but then you change it to certain uh shader and
actually change that glow. But then there's even ones that
like strobe colors and so those are actually change depending
on what it is. So like I'm hoping they do
something like that. Plus if they because there's some of
those shaders that there's one of the colors that actually
does change color. It's'd be cool if like the blade
changes color while you're using it.
Speaker 1 (43:27):
Pretty cool.
Speaker 4 (43:28):
But yeah, so there's that people are like, oh, they're
gonna they're gonna go like to do a Star Wars
story and the Bunge. You had to come out and
say no, no, no, it's Star Wars like inspired. It's still
a Destiny game, yeah, but it's inspired. It's gonna have
a lot of feel like you would from Star Wars,
which obviously it does anyways. But like but then they
(43:48):
like so they have like a new tie Fighter Advance
which look to me, you look a lot like right
Kylo wrenz uh tie Fighterkay? But whatever, So yeah, there's
that's coming out, and obviously I play Destiny, so like
I kind of wanted, but like I'm worried that, like
they're gonna lose their shit because of these lawsuits and stuff,
(44:10):
and like the fuck the fact that they're probably gonna
have to shit. Can the release date for Marathon not again,
not that give a fuck about that game, but it's
the same studio and they've already fired a bunch of
people over the last like two years, and they've separated
the team to be like a Marathon team and a
Bungee team, and we've definitely felt the fucking pains because
of it. So like it's worrying me that I, like,
(44:33):
I don't want to spend one hundred bucks in the game,
just be fucking garbage. And then they showed off the
Edge of Fate, which is the new the new, the
next expansion and looks really cool except for like they
did this thing that I really wish they didn't do.
Is they made a destination specific powers okay that you
(44:55):
only use on that destination that seemly weird, yeah, because
they did it before Witch Queen, where like these is
things where like you basically get this ability where your
light ability to let you focus in on this energy
like to show like get through and like these mirages
that are to stop you from doing things like for
puzzle works whatever. Right, but it's like a mechanic that
(45:16):
you only use there, and it's like cool, awesome, Why right,
Like why do this? Like it's so dumb. Anyways, I
digress about that. So that's coming out, and obviously I'm
very interested in that. I'm probably gonna buy that, So
like that sucks because like that's gonna eat up more
of my time, right, And then like but then there's
(45:39):
like all these games coming through game Pass. I'm like,
I'm hoping, like I'll buy Powerwash too, no matter what.
But I'm hoping it hits game Pass because it's another
like probably eighty bucks. But then, like I said, Bordlands
fours coming out, and that's like a base of eighty dollars.
And I'm like, Plus, like I don't even know there
probably is pricing up on the website. I haven't looked
(46:01):
at it because after hearing fucking Randy's comment, I was like,
do I want to support you, because like that's the
kind of shit, Like because your game looks dope as
fuck and I love Borderlands, but that's the kind of
shit that makes me like not want to buy.
Speaker 1 (46:15):
Your game, right, you know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (46:18):
Like there's I will boycott a lot of shit for
dumb reasons, you know, like Jack a Box got rid
of a soundich I liked boycott, you know whatever, Right,
Carls Junior isn't hard.
Speaker 3 (46:29):
When it's the only thing you're buying. There is not
really a boycott when you don't sell it anymore.
Speaker 4 (46:33):
It's true's you know, like, yeah, I could go, but
I mean I don't want to, but like you know,
Carls Junior is not hardy, so I'm not allowed to
go there.
Speaker 1 (46:40):
Plus I don't really like Carls Junior.
Speaker 3 (46:43):
Well, they don't have that poll anymore. I like it's
the the six dollars burger type thing. It's like, yeah,
all burgers are six dollars or more now, so it
doesn't to it's no longer a.
Speaker 4 (46:53):
Fancy hey, so get this, uh not that this is
sponsored by anything but Rallies, which just opened to a
location near US and ELM.
Speaker 3 (47:01):
I have been like even I've been seeing advertisements for it,
like even on YouTube and whatnot.
Speaker 2 (47:06):
It's like, this is weird.
Speaker 4 (47:07):
Yeah, it's weird to see like it just resurrected itself. Anyways,
they have a four dollars meal deal.
Speaker 2 (47:12):
I saw that and I was tempty.
Speaker 1 (47:14):
Yeah, I'm like, oh, okay, We've been.
Speaker 2 (47:16):
To rallies before and it's actually it's not bad.
Speaker 4 (47:18):
Yeah, it's good. It's solid food. It's just before there
was so far away that they're so far away before.
Speaker 2 (47:26):
Now it's like that's what I was gonna say.
Speaker 3 (47:28):
Yeah, like it's not the closest one was like almost
damn near damn near downtown Phoenix, while not downtown but
like off to the side of downtown, and it's like
it's not good enough mood of food to just like,
oh man, we should go to Rallies today and just
drive down there. But at least now it's like, hey,
there's Rallies just right down the corner for four bucks.
Speaker 2 (47:48):
Yeah heal or whatever it is.
Speaker 1 (47:51):
Yeah, so that thought that was pretty cool.
Speaker 4 (47:52):
But yeah, so like there's just a lot, like there's
so much happening in the game space, and like I
just and someone's frustrating because like the Destney stuff, fucking rainy,
fucking comments about oh real fins will make it happen.
Fuck you dude, don't be sympathetic, be fucking an asshole
about it apparently.
Speaker 1 (48:13):
Yeah, right, and then.
Speaker 4 (48:14):
Like obviously like the switch to coming out, which I'm
definitely not gonna get one a because the price I
think is just fucking astronomical for what that is.
Speaker 3 (48:21):
I just don't think you would be able to get one. Yeah,
sure would have to have already like used it, what
was it? Because you had to have an account a
Nintendo Direct account open for so many years and have
played it so much or within such a recent amount
of time, then you could qualify for pre ordering it
(48:44):
or getting a.
Speaker 1 (48:45):
Chance to pre well, that would be through.
Speaker 4 (48:48):
Yeah, and then like if you've got it, if you're
lucky enough to get one through like one of the
you know, best buy game stop whatever. But it's like,
I'm sure come Christmas time we're probably gonna see more
of them. That's I think that's hopefully the game. But
it's like obviously like four or fifty dollars, dude.
Speaker 3 (49:04):
I was like, yeah, that's definitely a hard hard sell.
There are definitely games first party. That's the problem too,
is they're definitely first part in Nintendo games that are
that are fun. Because I look at my experience with
the Switch and it's like I played Metroid that's the
reason why I bought it, and then I tried.
Speaker 2 (49:25):
Playing the Legend of Zelda.
Speaker 3 (49:32):
Whatever the person one was called something Wild, and it
just didn't click with me for some reason, like it
just did not click with me.
Speaker 2 (49:40):
So I never finished that, and then it just sat there.
Speaker 3 (49:42):
I tried playing Louie's Mansion three, which was which was fun,
but never finished it. And now my brother plays. Now
my brother just has it and plays it, so I
don't even really have it anymore. So that's why, Yeah,
like the the proposition of getting a switch to it's
like this just probably not for me, especially with four
hundred and fifty dollars. I would kind of rather, if
(50:05):
I would be like, I want a mobile game system,
probably go with either.
Speaker 2 (50:14):
A Steam Deck.
Speaker 3 (50:15):
I don't want to say it a rog Ally, but
probably that actually that would probably be the better.
Speaker 2 (50:22):
Better proposition to go with is the rag Ally.
Speaker 3 (50:26):
Literally, just two days ago, Steam announced that they are
finally taking the Steam Os out of beta for use
on the Legion Go.
Speaker 4 (50:35):
And the rack Ally.
Speaker 3 (50:37):
So you can because the Legion Go and the rock
Ally both come with Windows pre installed. But now, and
I didn't look into it one hundred percent, but I'm
assuming that you can now just like install Steam Os
onto either of those systems and it just I wouldn't
say it probably works flawlessly, but works really well enough
(50:57):
for them to take it out of beta and just
have work because the rog Ally has better specs than
the Steam Deck. The steam Deck at this point is
three years old. Four years old. No, it's gonna be
three years old now, yeah, so it's it's getting up
there in age, and it has like the first generation
and you know mobile the what was it, the Zen
(51:22):
I don't remember what processor it has in there. There's
Z one processor where the yeah, now don't remember, but
any of the newer ones obviously have better specs in them,
so the ability to install STEMOS onto something better. Even
though I really don't like a SEUs. When we talk
about companies that we don't want to give money to anymore,
(51:42):
a SUS is one of.
Speaker 5 (51:43):
Them for me with you, yeah, but it is technically
the best spec wise.
Speaker 3 (51:55):
Mobile system out there that I can think of right now.
I know some stuff just got announced over at Computex.
Computex is going on right now. We're just ended or
whatever it is. But yeah, I think at that point,
because those are about the four or five hundred, six
hundred dollars price point. Actually I think the Rock Alley
(52:16):
goes up to like a thousand dollars.
Speaker 2 (52:19):
Uh, but I kind of would rather go with that.
Speaker 4 (52:23):
Not just not just that too, like the point where
like that the fact that like the games you're already
playing a lot of them you can play on there,
and like for example, Game Pass, those PC games, a
lot of those are would be available on those consoles
as well.
Speaker 3 (52:39):
Yeah, they would be stick with Windows or virtual boot
Windows yeah, and STOs and boom.
Speaker 4 (52:45):
Yeah, so like you know, you're you're not limited to
that fact, like you can only play first party Intendo
games on Nintendo. Yeah, you know, so like it's like
you're I have to spend four hundred fifty dollars at
least for this, and then it's fucking games are seventy dollars,
which makes no sense to me because they're definitely not
next gen games their next gen Nintendo games, but they're not.
(53:08):
They don't I guarante you don't hold a fucking candle
to what PlayStation or Xbox give you or a fucking
PC for example, Like yeah, just no way. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (53:18):
So like it's just like.
Speaker 4 (53:20):
Four and fifty dollars and then Bass Mario Kart World
eighty bucks.
Speaker 1 (53:26):
Dude.
Speaker 4 (53:27):
I say, you're out your fucking mind, dude.
Speaker 3 (53:30):
And the only way that you save money on that
is if you bundle it with this console.
Speaker 4 (53:34):
If you can get one, because I'm pretty sure those
are even more limited, oh and will be more limited
and will be.
Speaker 3 (53:40):
More sought after because again, you're getting a game with
the system, and you're getting the game for cheaper.
Speaker 2 (53:45):
That's yeah. Yeah, so I was like it could definitely
be the more sought after option.
Speaker 4 (53:50):
Because there is like I like I was watching gameplay
like we talked about before, like the Donkey Kong game
like it looks super fun. It does, but it's like, bro,
that's another console I have to buy because you it's
only made for that game that console.
Speaker 2 (54:05):
MH.
Speaker 4 (54:05):
So like the like the Switch one is like getting
shit on because like majority of stuff coming out is
not gonna be available on it m and going forward,
it's gonna be that much more antiquated. Like I know
they're gonna announce like some time next year or something
to announce a new animal crossing and I'm gonna want
to play it, which means I'm gonna have to fucking
have a switch to and it's gonna fuck me make
(54:28):
me mad. It's like, dude, like anybody who by the way,
I'm not gonna I don't want to make anyone mad.
But if you Maine a play station or like if
your main console is a Switch, I'm sorry for you.
Speaker 2 (54:43):
I mean it's hard to say for me as well.
Speaker 3 (54:45):
But yeah, Like again, one of the problems that I
had with the Switch is like I just remember like
booting up the hard Yeah, the Nintendo Store and just like, oh,
what what games do they have on sale? Surprise the
first part of games that you don't put on sale,
and second is just like it. It has the iOS
(55:06):
problem where it's just a lot of garbage content on there,
like you're just scrolling through and it's like, I've never
heard of these properties.
Speaker 2 (55:16):
Most of these loop just look like.
Speaker 3 (55:18):
Like someone booted up a game creation software and just
threw a bunch of assets together and made a game.
And it's just like this looks this looks like trash,
Like what is all of this shit on here? Where
are the good games that I could play for relatively
cheap that I could buy? There aren't any, it feels
like so I'd never bought any of those games or
(55:41):
anything and just was like, well cool, do I just
go trade this system in that I basically bought a
couple months ago.
Speaker 4 (55:49):
Yeah, it's like and the thing is like and to
your point, like a lot of the first party games
like so like we've we've gotten like the Mario party
games which are fun, but like there after a while
there's like m like uh cool, like every now and
then play whatever, Right, But it's like.
Speaker 3 (56:07):
It's again, it's a it's that's a thing that you
have to get together with a bunch of friends.
Speaker 2 (56:10):
Ye have to have a bunch of friends who now
have a switch.
Speaker 4 (56:13):
Yep, yeah, and it's like oh and then like the
newer Mario games like Marrow Wonder, they adding they're adding
all these like like Mario Odyssey was like the last
really good Mario game they had. If you have if
you ask me Wonder what Wonder was cool, but they
added these weird mechanics that don't really need, Like like
(56:34):
I'm like, I don't care about any of this time
shifting nonsense, Like I played Braid and that was the
best time shifting game you could have. It's like, give
me classic Mario, like Mario Odyssey. I understand the hat
thing whatever, right, but like that didn't take away from
like the way you play Mario, where like Wonder did,
like you have to like time this and time that
(56:55):
and get this. And I'm like, dude, why are you
making this so complicated? It's fucking Mario, Dude, Like I
want to jump on goombas, I want to kick turtle
carcasses at their family members, and I want to put
on funny suits to burn things down. Like that's all
I want to do. I don't care about turning into
an elephant.
Speaker 2 (57:15):
Uh huh.
Speaker 4 (57:15):
I don't know, dude, I just I just want if
I'm completely down. If you don't want to do a
three D one again, you want to do a side scroller,
I'm down, bro, that's where you can't. That's where I
came from. I'm okay with going back there, but dude,
I don't care about any of that bullshit you add
in with there. And I was like, dude, come on, man,
come on, don't don't give me this shit. But anyways, anyways,
(57:41):
that got down real quick.
Speaker 1 (57:43):
I did um.
Speaker 3 (57:46):
I want to hear at least something that's relatively interesting
and happy.
Speaker 2 (57:51):
Yes, uh so when was this okay?
Speaker 3 (57:56):
So, according to this article for Rolling Stone, nearly forty
years ago, the us of Jim Morrison was stolen off
of his grave site. And I'm going to try and
pronounce this, but Pierre la Chase Cemetery in Paris, it's.
Speaker 1 (58:09):
Been found, oh shit.
Speaker 2 (58:13):
Or something.
Speaker 3 (58:14):
No, I'll just go ahead and read most of this
article here because it's relatively short from Rolling Stone. So
the French police rediscovered the Marble bust while carrying out
a search in a completely unrelated fraud investigation. Authorities have
yet to share further details, meaning there is still some
mystery left to who's responsible for decapitating the statue and
(58:35):
where it's been hiding all these years. It's also unclear
if the statue will now be returned to Morrison's grave site.
A rep for Morrison's estate tells Rolling Stone it was
happy to hear the news of the statue's recovery, adding
obviously it's a piece of history and one of Jim's
family wanted there on his grave, so it's gratifying to
(58:59):
see that it's been re discovered.
Speaker 2 (59:01):
It. They show pictures of it and it looks rough.
Speaker 3 (59:07):
Because apparently I didn't know this, that it was a
thing while that statue was up for people for fans
of Jim Morrison to go, hey, graffiti it, yep, which
is fine, but be like take chips of it? Well no,
I mean, I say, it's like, I don't know Jim Morrison.
I don't know who he is, right, or I know
(59:28):
who he is? Sorry, who leads sitting hear the doors.
I have a feeling that he would have been okay
with it, is what I'm getting at. Probably yeah, but
they but people would actually take chips of it, It's like, Okay,
that's a bit bunch, guys, because then you're just ruining
it for everyone else for like cause it looks looks
(59:49):
fucking rough. Yeah, but yeah, so forty years it's been
missing and they found it.
Speaker 1 (01:00:02):
All right, that's pretty rad, right.
Speaker 2 (01:00:11):
I don't really have much else here.
Speaker 3 (01:00:16):
Avengers next two movies look like they're going to be
delayed or are delayed until later in their respective years,
So I think it was.
Speaker 2 (01:00:27):
Next year.
Speaker 3 (01:00:28):
Twenty twenty six was originally for Doomsday. That was scheduled
for May first, but now it's being moved to December eighteenth.
And then Secret Wars was scheduled for May seventh, twenty
twenty seven, but that's been moved to December seventeenth of
twenty twenty seven.
Speaker 2 (01:00:46):
That was according to the Verge.
Speaker 3 (01:00:48):
I don't recall if they actually said why it was
being moved back.
Speaker 4 (01:00:56):
So people are speculating because they're adding, they're not adding there.
The shoots are taking longer because there's so many people
and they're trying to work with other people's schedules for
filming stuff, because obviously there's like a ton of people
in these movies and they're trying to balance it for
shooting schedules. For that's what I read, but I could
(01:01:17):
be wrong.
Speaker 2 (01:01:18):
That makes sense.
Speaker 3 (01:01:22):
Beyond that, there was an article from Cinema Blend about
James Bond video games that was relatively interesting read not
going to go into all of it here, but it
kind of tars it a tars it. I know, we've
talked a lot about the Bond stuff over the last
couple of months and how it's been coming to light
(01:01:44):
of like Barbara Broccoli and her you know, how her
family owns the rights to it, and kind of why
we see the types of films that we see. But
this one goes into the video game side of things,
and it's a revelation that we really have and seen
a Bond video game in a very long time. Yeah,
(01:02:04):
and even going back to the GoldenEye on the sixty four,
how that was such an explosive game that they wanted
to do a sequel and apparently Broccoli got involved in
it as she would, but was like, yeah, the sequel
(01:02:26):
can't have guns, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:02:31):
Right, she said.
Speaker 3 (01:02:33):
It was like, because kids play the game, she didn't
want guns in it. Also, Bond can't shoot anybody in
the back, and developers are just like, what the fuck,
how are we supposed to make a Bond game with
these aspects that you're getting.
Speaker 4 (01:02:53):
At, especially since GoldenEye was all about shooting. Yeah, like
that game was a first person shooter yep, not a
first person first person like walkie talkie game.
Speaker 3 (01:03:08):
So that's one of the reasons why we never got
a sequel to Golden and Ice to the gold Night
game in sixty four.
Speaker 4 (01:03:14):
The more I hear about this lady, the less I
like her. Like, at one point you're like, oh, she
got integrity for the brand, right, and then you say
this shit and you're like, well, yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:03:25):
So I'd definitely say go find this article on cinemon Blend.
The title is that there hasn't been a James Bond
console game since twenty twelve, and after hearing about Robert
Barcley's restrictions, I can understand why. It's a fascinating look
into the kind of like the history of those games.
And yeah, why we never saw like a sequel to
gold Knight because of those weird things.
Speaker 1 (01:03:47):
Yeah, wild dude. Just to wrap it up, last thing,
I did look up.
Speaker 4 (01:03:52):
I was paying attention what you were saying, Joe, No, no,
but I looked up when Powerwatch Stimulator actually added was added.
It was actually a day one release. Oddly, enough. I
actually downloaded it when it was brand new and started
playing it relatively then. And guess when it came out
your birthday, literally the day before. Yeah, so maybe I'm
(01:04:15):
gonna get Powerwash similator to for my birthday on game Pass,
which would be nice. So it actually started on Steam
in twenty twenty one as an as a what do
they call that, a like an early release early access? Yeah,
early access, yeah, early access. And then when it officially
(01:04:36):
launched on all consoles, it was July fourteenth of twenty
twenty two, which is when I started playing it, well
a couple of weeks after that, but you know, classic Cody.
And then the one thing I think I mentioned this before,
the one real reason I kind of want a VR
(01:04:59):
is Becau because they do have a power Watch similar
VR that would be pretty cool. Yeah, I was like,
I kind of want that for that reason, but like
I don't want to pay for one. Well, I mean
I get the I can get the metaquest, I wouldn't
actually have to have a PC for it.
Speaker 3 (01:05:17):
Yeah, but then again, we're talking about companies that I
just don't want to fundel money.
Speaker 1 (01:05:21):
And yeah meta yea.
Speaker 2 (01:05:25):
And then we have one and we never use it.
Speaker 4 (01:05:27):
That's the only thing is like, I don't want to
spend the money on it and then never use it
again other than for this and no telling if they're
going to bring out power Watch similator to VR.
Speaker 2 (01:05:36):
Right, that seems like a wait and see type thing.
Speaker 1 (01:05:39):
Yeah, So I was like, I'd.
Speaker 3 (01:05:40):
Love to step into the world of VR and not
and get something I can connect to my PC and
not have to sign into an account. I could buy
something secondhand, which is less expensive than you know, buying
a brand new But I have a thing about secondhand
stuff that you wear on your face and whatnot.
Speaker 1 (01:05:58):
And electronics in general, because although they fuck they do
that thing.
Speaker 3 (01:06:01):
Oh yeah, especially especially Yeah that too, that's a good point,
Like that is something I do think about.
Speaker 2 (01:06:07):
Uh, you know, repairing computers at work and you.
Speaker 3 (01:06:10):
Just open it up and it's just like there's a
broach in there and that's that's a baby roach, that's
gros And I.
Speaker 4 (01:06:15):
Don't know how people you know, burn it down.
Speaker 2 (01:06:17):
Stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:06:19):
On that note, before before we finish it out, I
have gone on offer up because I was reading an
article about how no one uses their Apple Vision pro
and so I went on offer up and I was like,
I wonder if people are reselling their things and you
can buy one for five hundred dollars right now, and
it's just like that's that's a lot of money still, yeah,
(01:06:39):
but for someone that's kind of tempting just to see
how it is.
Speaker 4 (01:06:43):
Yeah, and not spending fifteen hundred dollars or whatever it
is or three grand or whatever the shit was.
Speaker 2 (01:06:48):
Yeah, I think it was like the three grand for
some models.
Speaker 4 (01:06:50):
Yeah, yeah, So I mean that'd be weirdy to see
if what why someone's selling you for five hundred dollars,
but also like it's only five hundred dollars, so I mean, well,
a lot of.
Speaker 3 (01:06:58):
The inscriptions were just like I got this and I
don't use it anymore and yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:07:03):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:07:07):
And plus every time I played VR, like I I
sweat so much in it, and like a lot of
times I can't wear my glasses, which you don't really
need too often in there, because it's like you.
Speaker 3 (01:07:17):
You might have to get like a special like there
are I've seen ones that have been announced where they're like, yeah,
you can get prescription lenses to go along with it,
so it would help.
Speaker 2 (01:07:28):
You with the experience.
Speaker 3 (01:07:29):
But again that's that's another thing that you have to buy,
like base model like maybe five hundred dollars and anyways,
prescription lenses another one hundred dollars. Oh hey, you want
the pro strap and fifty dollars you want the case
do along with fifty dollars, you want the controllers one
hundred dollars And you're like, well, that's like now we're
pushing a thousand dollars on something.
Speaker 2 (01:07:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:07:51):
So yeah, so they see that's my dilemma. But also
like it's not that, it's not that. Yeah, it's not
really a Thelemits and it's like, nah, I don't really
care for one fucking game. Yeah, I might find other
games to play, Like I still.
Speaker 2 (01:08:03):
Want to play Half Life Alex. I'm such a big
half Life fan. Yeah, I've only played a little bit
of Half Life Alex.
Speaker 3 (01:08:09):
I have the ability to do it now, but it's
it's still just that, like I have to now go
get the quest out, I'd have to connect it to
my computer, you know, because I think the way the
way my brother has it Jerry rigged is you basically
are remote desktopping into your computer to be able to
play it like that. So it's not it's not a
(01:08:31):
it's a better experience than like hardwiring it, but it's
still not a great experience.
Speaker 2 (01:08:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:08:40):
No, I'm good. I'm good fan. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:08:43):
All right, Well that's a bit for this week's episode
of Comes Naturally. We have been Joe, I've been Cody,
and as usual, you fuckers just came naturally.
Speaker 1 (01:08:51):
Bye.
