Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, let's see where's my screens at here? Oh?

(00:05):
There it is, okay, now we're going here we go.
It's recording. It's fine, it's perfectly, it's working, just just fine.
Joe good I do hate these fucking plastic, fucking tab
thingies on these boxes because it ruins the boxes.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
And just oh is it on the actual box?

Speaker 1 (00:23):
It's not, No, it's on the box. I'm trying to
pull it off without tearing the box, not.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Thinking of the collectors out there.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
Uh oh, indeed, does it ruined? Like the sticker's ruined
this one? Look see this fucking one. Yep, this is
the fiftieth anniversary one. You can't tell because it's fucking
ripped off. But it's fifty so dumb ah. Sorry, the

(00:58):
fingers are sticking to the sticker. Good Ansmr for the podcast.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
I couldn't even hear it.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Yeah, that that hurts my ears having it that one.
Let's see, Oh what in the fuck is this?

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Oh you're the one that bought it? What is that?
It looks like tokens?

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Yeah? I thought it was a flavor packet for a first,
I was like, what are you trying to keep these
cards fresh?

Speaker 2 (01:29):
I mean as well.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
God damn that was loud. Oh what in the fuck
are these things?

Speaker 2 (01:34):
The whole thing is loud.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Yeah, sorry, yeah, m lovely.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
I do not like AMR stuff. That stuff weirds me out.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
It does increase me on. I don't anybody who likes that.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
That are like the talking and all I hear is
just the mouth movement that like that saliva e stickiness
and I can't stand it.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
It's just it's weirds me out.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Yeah. Well, there are tokens that have a happy face
that say seven and a sad face that says times too.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Maybe like a flip a coin type thing.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
And get seven cards or times to whatever is in
your hand. I don't know. Look, yeah, there's instructions and
then here's the pack of car Oh what is this
thing ten with the what looks to be rewind? Fuck
are these things? Wait? Why do they have symbols on them?

Speaker 2 (02:38):
I don't know what are the symbols?

Speaker 1 (02:39):
Uh? There's a like a black circle star, uh, square
in a triangle, well technically upside down triangle?

Speaker 3 (02:49):
Right is it where you you have to test to
see if the person has psychokinetic abilities?

Speaker 2 (02:55):
It could be Are there way lines as well?

Speaker 1 (02:57):
No? No, waby lines, What the hell is this? Why
is that a wild peak card? It can like play
this and like peak at other player's card. That's fucked up.
If it is, what the hell is that?

Speaker 2 (03:10):
It's a meteorite. Plus, it's as.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Fuck, dude, these cards are wild, so I have to
read the instruction and see what it fucking says. The plus,
I don't know what the fuck those coins are for.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
Does it add to the base set or does it
go with the other set that you said?

Speaker 1 (03:26):
So it goes to show them no mercy as the
packet goes to, Yeah, there's a lot of languages in
this card. Are in this thing? Uh tends play again?
When you play this card, immediately take another turn. Oh
that's kind of cool. Okay, what wild discard? All this

(03:54):
card matches anything, so you can play it no matter
what the what card is on the disc card pile.
Pick the color you want to discard, and discard all colors,
all cards in your hand of that color.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Damn.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Oh my god, bro, that's savage as ship dude. Since
it's a wild card, you got you get to choose
the color that you continue playing. Oh shit, So I
could lay it down and say, oh, I want to
discard yellow, and then I'm switching it to blue and

(04:30):
play continues with blue, because it's a wild Oh my god, dude,
that's something.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Where you could eliminate a hand and win a game
with that one card if you just have like two colors.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
In your in your hand or one color in your
hand or like boom, I'm gonna make it red, but
I'm discard all yellow and all I have is yellow
Winter Wild Reverse draw eight, reverse the direction of play
and make the next player in that direction draw eight

(05:02):
cards and lose their turn. Then you choose the color
continue play.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Not only do you do they draw eight, they lose
a turn.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
So you you reverse it, so you take a turn
away from this person and give it to this person.
But that person then has to draw eight and don't
get to play.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
This game. This Yeah, this game is so much god.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Dude, holy fuck dude. Wild Final Attack. That's the media card.
People can play this game up to eight, I believe, but.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
It's the minimum two. That's savage right there with that card.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Yeah, because if it's only two people playing, that person
you're forcing to draw eight and then it's your turn again.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Yeah. Wild Final Attack first reveal your hand. The next
player loses their turn and must draw one card for
each action card and wild card in your hand. Number
cards don't count. If you reveal seven or more action
or wild cards, that players must draw twenty five cards instead,

(06:15):
and all other players must draw five cards. You choose
the color and continue play.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
I didn't even like that was so many rules to
that one thing.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
What the fuck, dude? What it? Oh my god? So
one with the eyeball. It's not a peak card, okay,
All players including you must draw cards from the draw
pile until they have twenty four cards in their hand. Ouch,
you choose the color, continue play.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
So that's just a screw everybody card.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
And yeah, like literally that.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
Is a couple of people got very low hands, and
you're like, nah, we're nuken this shit from orbit. Everyone
draw twenty five Are there enough cards in that to
draw if you have a decent number of people, is
there enough cards in those decks to draw that many?
So you have four people drawing twenty five cards, it's

(07:11):
one hundred cards.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Yeah, I mean there's a lot of cards in No mercy.
And this adds twenty four cards to the to the
already pretty expansive because it's a double deck. Well, I
mean no technic double decks. So then here's the expansion
pack coins. There's Mercy and no Mercy. Each player gets
one coin and must declare at the beginning of each

(07:33):
game if they are going to use the Mercy or
no Mercy side. You can choose if on your turn
whether you want which whatever you want, but only once
per game, so choose wisely. Mercy. You may immediately discard
your entire hand to the bottom of the discard pile,

(07:54):
and then draw seven fresh cards from the draw pile
to create a new hand. You may use this even
if you would have been knocked out by having more
than twenty five cards. Oh yeah, by the way, and
no mercy. If you get more than twenty five cards,
you're out. If you're done, you.

Speaker 3 (08:10):
Lose, Okay, So that makes sense of the nuke everybody card. Yeah,
then you're knocking people out.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
Yeah, because if they have to draw a card the
next their next turn, they're they're they're basically out. So
basically once you I think it's once you hit twenty six,
you're out of the game.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
I guess I'd have to play it in order to
understand really how that works, because then if everybody's if
everybody's drawing twenty.

Speaker 1 (08:35):
Five cards, well you're drawing twenty four cards. So then
in like cards No, So in the wild sudden death,
you everyone discards their entire hand and they have to
then pull twenty four cards into their hand. Okay, all right,
Oh no, I'm sorry, hold on, I read that one wrong.

(08:57):
All players, including you, must draw cards from the draw
pile until they have twenty four cards in their hand
out right, So if you have, like so if we're playing, right.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
I have, So it's it's not plus twenty.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
That was my confusion.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
I thought it was plus twenty four.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
No, but like each I'm like, if you're knocked out
at twenty five, everyone would be knocked out.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
That wouldn't make sense, Okay. Wild basically makes it a game.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
Of well chance, but a high stakes game of like
if you don't have anything to play, which would be
really uncommon. Yeah, if you had twenty four cards in
your hand, then you could be knocked out.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Okay, got it.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
Yeah, so the no Mercy coin immediately doubles the penalty
of any draw card you play. For example, if you
play a wild reverse draw eight, it becomes wild reverse
draw sixteen noe. The new value of the penalty applies
even when stacking.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
What.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
Oh my god, that's fucking wild. Identification icon each you know,
show No Mercy expansion card features a distinct icon in
the bottom left corner, making it easy to distinguish. Okay,
so that's what Oh okay, okay, okay, okay, So in

(10:26):
the bottom I was gonna say, in the bottom corner
of the card down here, Okay, the cards, Yeah, that's
the expansion. So you can pull those out if you
don't want to play expansion. This is for color blind people.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
So apparently circle is red, the star is yellow, the
triangles green, and the square is blue. I guess that
might be. I wonder if that's color if that's like
color blind code. I didn't know that was a thing
on those, but I mean, good for that. I wonder

(11:01):
if that's a known I wonder if that's a known thing.
I wonder if that's like a standard.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
You've never seen any game that I've played, so much
a newer thing. But that's good for them.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
Hey, I gotta find I gotta find No Mercy and
pull it out because I know that ship's fucking wild.
There's some like I gotta look at the rules again too,
because I know if, like I want to say that
the rules if once you get over twenty five cards
in your hand, you're done, like you're out. I don't know,

(11:32):
but expansion packs fucking wild. UNO coming out here fucking
trying to ruin friendships and ship.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
I mean they've been a running friendship, like those types
of old school games have been running friendships.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
For a while.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
That's true. Oh, I don't know how this refolds up.
It don't matter.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
You read the instructions once, you don't even read them again.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
Yeah, who knows? He comes out of fun, you know,
needs to come out with a fucking rules app with
all their different fucking cards they have.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
That would be interesting because.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
Like, just like No Mercy has so many fucking rules,
Party One has its own rules. These add their own
like Actually, I wonder if these ones have expansion markers
on them too. Oh color blind acceptable, says the on
the on this box. Nice. M Oh, yeah that one

(12:28):
does too. Party One. Uh, not that anyone cares. Who's
listening to listen to me? Open another fucking pack of cards?
But I want to see if these ones have expansion
ones on them. I can't tell from the picture in
the back of the box. They're too fucking small. Oh oh,

(12:49):
well that.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
Was an expert there. That's a that's a ruined box.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
Yeah, this one doesn't have an easy way to open them.
So those ones, those ones don't get kept. Yeah, they
do color blind down the bottom and no expansion. Though,
no expansion you're gonna be able to Oh, actually you
can tell right away. Never mind that different look at
the backgrounds. Yeah, yes, jak, so that's what that means.

(13:15):
Then okay, so you can pull them out if you
don't want to play.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
Let's uno playing card boxes that you can buy for storage.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
Probably, I actually bought it's under the table somewhere. I
bought a uh a, I think I want to say
it's for magic. Well, it's for card playing games, uh
where you can take the dividers and make them different sizes.

(13:53):
And I put a bunch of my collections in there,
like all in there so I have them accessible. And
then we went when we went to visit this this
is how you scare people away. When when we went
to visit Page's parents for the first time, like I
was meeting with the first time I brought because they
played they like they played Uno all the time, like
just the two of them, and obviously, like I'm a

(14:15):
big fan of Uno, so as like a flex, I
brought like a good amount of my collection in that holder.
And so when I got there, I was like, oh, yeah,
you guys, like you know, I end zipped it and
I was like, what's up? And they're like what. I
was like, Yeah, what kind of you won't play? They're
like the regular?

Speaker 2 (14:32):
You know.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
I'm like, which, which color variation do you want? Do
you want middle? Middleist? I got that, I got fiftieth anniversary?
What do you want? Like? I was gonna be a
fucking impressing oppressive if I fucking showed him my Uno collection.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
Mm hmm sounds impressive to me.

Speaker 1 (14:47):
Thanks Joe, thanks for making me feel better. But AnyWho, yeah, so.

Speaker 3 (14:54):
You know, anyway really should get into the topic that
we have been not talking about for a while here.
So did you watch I'm sure you did all.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
Of Alien Earth?

Speaker 1 (15:11):
I mean all that's available.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
It's available all two episodes at this current time.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
Yep, Yeah, yeah I did.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
What's your impressions of it?

Speaker 1 (15:20):
I love it? M SO and this is the thing,
and I didn't want to like I wanted to text
so badly when I was watching it. What grabbed me
first was the aesthetic of the show. Like I did
not get the full breath of it from the trailers.
I watched every trailer that came out because I have

(15:44):
a problem, But I was like, the one thing that
that like really like endeared me, I guess would be
the word was the aesthetic. It felt like it was
filmed in the seventies, along with like that like the
late seventies, early eighties, along with the og the two

(16:05):
the first two is what which is what everyone considers
the cannon movies, like the ones you want to actually
talk about not three and beyond, but between one and two,
because like even like what I was saying yesterday in
the chat, Romulus had that same feel where it felt
that weird stuck in a certain retro technology world. Right

(16:31):
there is flashing lights. It's not there's no like fancy
touchscreenss all actual tactiley.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
It was.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
Yeah, yeah, and so when they and but then also
they even gave people like like late eighties or late
seventies early eighties haircuts, the outfits, the walking around on
the ship felt like the Nostromo, Like it felt like, yeah,
the ship itself obviously looked a little different on the outside.

(17:00):
The you could get a feel for, like, hey, because obviously,
like this takes place and around the same time. I
believe it's before the events of Alien.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
I believe the thing that Mike posted was before the
events of Alien.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
Right, Okay, so what's wild to me? And someone's like, oh,
how does that work out? If? Like like because if
you think about it, this happens before the events of Alien,
but Alien happens way far away from Earth, and by
the time we get back to Earth in Alien Aliens, well, actually, wait,

(17:42):
are you on Earth on Aliens? No?

Speaker 2 (17:43):
Technically yes, yes, Aliens starts on.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
Earth because of the When she waits her escape pot
is found deep drift in deep space.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
It's brought back. She's being getting used to being.

Speaker 3 (17:59):
Back on Earth for a little while, trying to find
out where she is in life, meaning that it's been
like one hundred years that she was in in cryostasis. Yeah,
getting back into the swing of like what her job
will be.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
And then it turns out that.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
The the company sent a terrriforming team out to LV
four two six.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
In order to start terrified. Yeah, that's Hadley's hope.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
They get word back that something had gone wrong, and
since Ripley was the only one known survivor that has
tackled this piece before, they asked her to go back
with the Space Marines in order to figure out what
what happened. So, yeah, it technically like the first quarter
of the movie takes place on Earth.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
Yeah, the rest is back on LV two And obviously
it's been quite a long time between what the time
frame of Alien Earth and A ends, like, you know,
quite a long time anyway, So I thought that was
pretty cool. There's a lot of, like I think I

(19:13):
said yesterday, in the first like ten minutes, they were
kind of alluding to like, you know, the cargoes more important,
blah blah blah. Like that's very it's a very wailing
and tawny fucking like process and thought you know, thought
lines and how they do their thing. And then the

(19:34):
one dude going into the cyborg guy, which is fucking
cool looking hand with like the see through fucking skin
and stuff like that's fucking so cool because I don't
think we've ever really seen cyborgs for the most part
like that, Like we know there's cybernetic enhanced people, but

(19:56):
like that was way different. You a blowtorch at one
po point or not about like a welding thing, Yeah,
a knife at one point come out of it. I
was like, man, that's a Swiss army in hand. Plus
it just obviously looks stronger because he uses to pick
up the alien and not have to like struggle with it,

(20:17):
which by that that earlier scene was fucking amazing, by
the way, what's in the bag And then the fucking
hand rips out and they go to fucking get all
ready and it just tears them apart, and he's staying
there like, oh my god, dude, I'm gonna fucking die
right here, and the aliens like, hey, Bud, get ready
to ooh distracted by something shiny and just goes and
kills some other people.

Speaker 3 (20:37):
It was kind of the weird thing in that because
it was the second episode where it seemed to be
a whole a few ghost in the machine type things
where or Ya diis ex Machina is where uh, it
looks like the aliens about to kill our main character
and then gets suddenly distracted by something else.

Speaker 1 (20:56):
Yeah, yeah, so which makes me think there's like more
to it because you know, a lot of times in
the in the movies, uh, the Xenomorph will kind of
fixate on somebody for some reason. Like obviously, like the
spoiler for anybody who hasn't watched Romins, apparently Mike, this
bothers me that he's our friend. Uh, but like it

(21:21):
fixates on things he doesn't understand. But also like it
fixates on the pregnant chick right, like because once the
Xenomorph is out and about, they're they're kind of like
they're killing machines, but also they're like, oh, yeah, by

(21:41):
the way, I need like capture these people to birth
more of us. Yes, so like they're kind of just
like and they they they team. They seem to more
murder death kill things that they assume our threats.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
Yeah, like a bunch of costumed people.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
Well that was just I think that was more for fun,
because that's why it's like, that's why I was like,
he's a he's like it's asshole menace who doesn't care
about in tiered design because he goes through and he
just rips that that fucking dinner party just shreds and
just gleefully sits there and then he sees the medic
and he's like, oh shit, this guy again, I'm gonna

(22:20):
get him.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
And that's again one of the slow scenes where he
just went through and ripped apart like how many people
at a dinner party. And then it's just like, all right,
now I'm gonna scare the ship out of this one dude.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
That's what I'm thinking, is like when he like slowly
stalk him. Yeah, because like when it's like multiple people,
he goes to fucking straight up murder death kill mode,
just like anything in sight just gets murdered. And then
like with one there's one prey, he's like, oh ship,
let's take my time, let's let's see what this is
all about. And then he gets distracted again. Well he

(22:52):
gets he gets weird fucking gooey net gunned. Well, he
gets taste first by the fucking crazy ass tape, which
I did not expect.

Speaker 3 (23:03):
Either, fucking ghostbuster gun there, that's what basically looked.

Speaker 1 (23:06):
Like, Yeah, and then he fucking goo nets him, drags
him in the hallway, and then the fucking which like
probably should have better sedation because like, yeah, the soldiers
came by and he popped out, right, you were about
to be in an elevator confined space with this thing.
When it busts out of this net thing, he like
probably has.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
A gun to be able to zap it.

Speaker 3 (23:28):
And that's a weird thing about that, that juxtaposition right there.
It almost seems like he's encountered these beings before.

Speaker 1 (23:37):
Well, yeah, because he was on the ship that captured him.

Speaker 3 (23:39):
It was on the ship, but like the ship just
had the eggs and the face huggers. So he's very
it's almost scary in the fact of it himself. He's
a cyborg, so obviously he's part human. He's not really
that afraid of this thing, and he knows how to

(24:02):
take it down. So that's what I'm saying, is like
he's encountered these things before and knows how to deal
with them and is way too cool about it. So
he himself is almost just as scary as the alien
as the unwarphant.

Speaker 1 (24:18):
Yeah, and that's the thing is like, obviously, I mean,
hopefully we get some backsort of how and where this
all came from. It'll be interesting to see if it
was like a fucking like, oh, by the way, this
came from a certain familiar location.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
Yeah, I mean we don't get we just literally in
the beginning, get the description, which I do.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
I do love that they give a.

Speaker 3 (24:42):
Description of like, hey, this is the time that we're
in yep, right now, we have.

Speaker 2 (24:50):
Cyborgs.

Speaker 3 (24:51):
They give a description with cyborg gigs, we have synthetics,
they give a description where synthetic is. And then we
have hybrids, and that we get a description of what
a hybrid is. And I love that because when they
do introduce these characters, now we have an idea of
what they are. He is a cyboard, he's half human
or a part. He's somehow parts.

Speaker 1 (25:10):
She's got synthetics parts.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
Yeah, he's got synthetic parts in him, you know. And
what and I'm spacing out on the character's name, but
our main character.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
She's a hybrid. Yep, you know, Wendy synthetics Wendy.

Speaker 3 (25:23):
That's right, Wendy. Because they hope they have Weirdly, the
whole Peter Pan thing, which was literally just like, oh,
that's what I guess. If you're owned by Disney, you
can just access Disney properties and ice age and ice
age and do that type.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
Of stuff.

Speaker 3 (25:39):
Exactly, and then we know what syn synthetics are. We're
introduced to a synthetic right way as well, But if
you know the Alien franchise, you know what synthetics are anyway.
But I just love that that that's how they set
it up. And then they're just like, Okay, this is
our ship. Our ship, you know, is just coming out

(26:02):
of you know, hyper sleep and they're so so far
out from from Earth or whatever, and that's.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
All we're given. So yeah, I do like the way
they set up the movie. And you're absolutely right.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
The first scene of it was literally felt like a
shot for shot remake of Alien. It was like this
feeling of it was because that's what I texted you guys,
I said, because Mike was asking how it was and
I was like, I said, it was only in the
first ten minutes. At that point in time, I was like,
this is this feels like an Alien movie. Everything was

(26:42):
all the switches and the buttons were all lit up
and clunky. The the systems were all the black and
green systems that had the you know type of interface
into them and that interaction rate. There was just like
this is a shot for shot remake of Alien, of

(27:02):
just the crew sitting around a table that if you
would have initially watched this or watched the original movie,
I don't think you get very much tension around that.
But when you get back on rewatches, that scene is
very tense to me because you kind of know what's

(27:23):
gonna happen, So it elicits that feeling right there for
me as well as like, I know what this franchise
is about, and I know what scenes would happen later
in the original movie that are set up like this,
So it adds this weird tension to me to that scene.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
That is absolutely amazing. That scene was so good and.

Speaker 3 (27:49):
You're right, like the down to the haircuts of these
people that Like I sat there and I was like,
that dude looks like one of the guys from the
original Alien movie. I like, did they deage him or something?
Obviously you know they didn't, but it's like that's the
feeling that you get, yeah from watching that Uh. Absolutely

(28:11):
that that first scene is just good. The cuts to
the UH to the facility on the island were a
little weird and and kind of slowed down the show
a little bit for me. Obviously they're setting up a
lot of stuff. What the hell is that dude cleaning
off the wall. Yeah, he seems to just be stuck
cleaning something off the wall. That's the that's that bugs

(28:34):
me the most about that. I will hopefully get some
sort of explanation of it. But he's just sitting there
fucking cleaning something off the wall.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
Yeah, it's uh. I said to Sami. I was like,
what the fuck? And it's like he's like, there's multiple
scenes too, yeah, and I'm like, there, this is leading
to something like there's something more wrong with this than
just like the fact that this dude is taking kids
to put them in all bodies, right, But then there's

(29:03):
also like they literally fake their like not fake well,
I guess they're faking their deaths. There's like, hey, these
termin the little kids are dead, by the way, and
like her brother, like you find out her brother went
to her fucking funeral, and you're like, bro, that's kind
of fucked up dude, right, Like that's beyond Peter Panish,

(29:23):
you know what I mean, that's like some demented shit.

Speaker 3 (29:27):
That's the one thing too that I kept trying to
think about, does the plot of Peter pan somehow come
into this, Like is there something in there that you
could read a little bit more into the uh.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
To what might be going on in the in the show,
but haven't gotten there yet.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
Yeah, I mean two episodes into who fucking knows. But yeah,
it's just like I once I saw that, I was like, oh,
he's uh, obviously a child himself. He's beyond walks around barefoot,
you know. Uh, he's just he's very curt when he
talks to people because he's too smart and he doesn't
really care, but also doesn't really know any difference. He's

(30:09):
rescuing these kids so they never age.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
And I was like, it has the Peter Panism himself.

Speaker 1 (30:18):
Yeah, And I'm like, all right, something's fucking weird about this.
And it's on a remote island away from everything else
because it takes them, Yeah, it takes them forever to
get from there to the city when the ship crashes,
because like you think, oh, they're gonna get on these
little cool little helicopter plane thingies, right, and it's gonna

(30:39):
hop skip over the ocean and they'll be right there.
And it's like they leave during the day and get
there at night. You're like, oh, that's not forty five minutes,
that's like four to five hours if if if not more,
because like it felt like kind of the morning time
ish when the ship crashed and then nighttime when I

(31:00):
got there, and I was like, fuck, dude, this is wild.
But yeah, dude, everything about it. I was like, by
the end of the first episode, I was like, bro,
I want to bend this whole fucking thing and I can't.
It makes me very mad. So I almost waited to
watch episode two. Then I realized, oh no, I don't
have to wait another another week. It's just they're gonna

(31:23):
give us two and then next week I get the third.
So I'm like, okay, I'll be okay with that. But yeah,
I burnt through those and I was like, dude, I
because like I was saying in the text at first,
like at the first like probably ten ish minute mark,
I think you don't really get to see a good
shot of the Xenomorph when it when it's out this,

(31:45):
you know, and it's basically wrecking ship or wrecking the ship,
you don't really get a good shot of it. Like
you get glimpses of it and blah blah blah. And
it's cool because like it's obviously it's showing it's it's
like like the stealth ability and all that fun stuff
and just tearing through the crew and the obviously the

(32:05):
dudes in they're trying to fucking he's locking the room down.
He fucking welled the door shut, and I was like, well,
that's gonna keep her out, but I guarantee you that
thing's busting through that door in a short amount of time.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
It took two hits. It just headbutted the window twice
and went through.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
Yeah, and he's like, well, I better get in this
little fucking underground coffin thing because he's coming in. So yeah,
So that part was cool, and then I was like, oh,
maybe that's like that's how we're gonna do it. Like
there's like because I know they used practical effects for
the xenomorph, Like it's a dude in the.

Speaker 2 (32:34):
Suit, which shines.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
It shines because later on, like in episode one, when
they actually start showing him more, and then obviously episode
two they show him a whole lot more, you're like, oh,
this looks so good. It's obviously it's augmented by CGI,
like you know, eliminating things that make him look human.
I'm pretty sure there's like torso bits they have to
remove because like, no human being is that shape, no

(32:59):
matter how you do it. Because his knees go the
wrong way twice. Yeah, you know what I mean, He's
got like extra knees and shit, a couple of ankles.
But I was like, but then like just the like
the metallic teeth and like that semi translucent fucking dome
when it comes around that corner and you can see
it and then you can like the light just peaks

(33:21):
in a little bit, you can see the skull underneath.
It's like, oh god, it's so creepy. But dude, the
scene that got like, there's a couple of them, but
the one that really got me was when they're at
the the the brother the medic, when he's at the

(33:43):
door of the of the party and then the guys
with him and they show the statue behind him. Then
they showed again, and I was like, why the fuck
is that statue look like what a weird like continuity error?

Speaker 2 (33:54):
Oh yeah, no, I I recognized it right away.

Speaker 1 (33:56):
And then I was like, wait, and then it goes
back a third time and it moves, and I was like, yeah,
I'm so. I was so caught up in what was
going on. I didn't even pay attention. And the best
part was that's the second time they did it, and
I caught the first time, and then this time I
was like so oblivious because like, oh, what's gonna happen, right, whatever.

(34:18):
And the other one that got me like the just
made me so fucking excited, dude, was the first appearance
of the Xenomorph attacking the brother, where it comes out
of the hole and he's like I hear something like
and then like, don't get closer to the hole, brother,
Like I know you guys don't know yet, but like,
don't get into that fucking hole, dude, and they it

(34:40):
drools on him and then just fucking goes to pounce
and I was like, yeah, dude, But then that fucking
it cuts to the hallway scene where it's like running
down the fucking walls at him going towards the elevator
and you just to fucking hit the elevator doors and
it like damages it. And then when they when Wendy
and the other guy come in and they're like, was
there a baron here? Like they have bears and like

(35:03):
the walls all torn up because you realize like the
Xenomorph was running and wherever it ran, it just would
tear into the wall to get purchased to run faster.
I was like, bro, it's so good. I know you
don't know what Noah how he looks like, but did
you catch his cameo?

Speaker 2 (35:20):
He was shoot, what was it? I read it later?

Speaker 1 (35:23):
He's the dad, the dad? Yeah he's dead.

Speaker 2 (35:26):
Okay, yeah.

Speaker 3 (35:28):
I will say I had a little bit of a
problem with that that scene in particular, just because the
way he runs down the hallway, he immediately goes to
the elevator, hits the elevator button. Lord knows that elevator
just happened to be on that floor. The doors fly
open like with ungodly speed for an elevator, hops in,
hits the button, and they close with ungodly speed. So

(35:51):
either they they don't give a fuck in the future
about people getting in and out of an elevator, or
they just had to speed it up for that scene.
I was just like, Okay, that's that's a little egregious there, guys,
of how fast that elevator was.

Speaker 2 (36:04):
I've never seen an elevator that fucking fast.

Speaker 1 (36:06):
You don't live in the future, Joe, Well that's what
I said, So I said, so.

Speaker 2 (36:12):
Elevators don't care.

Speaker 1 (36:15):
So I elevators don't care until it needs a plot
point to kill.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
Some plot point, and then you have to wait for
the elevator to get there. Exactly. That's what I mean.

Speaker 3 (36:23):
There were a few, Like I said, there's a few
times in there where our main characters are definitely saved
by plot plot.

Speaker 1 (36:31):
Devices, which is perfectly fine with me.

Speaker 3 (36:33):
Fair enough, it's perfectly fine, I will say as well,
having only watched a few of the trailers for this,
I didn't know that I was under the impression, let's
put it like that. I was under the impression that
the show would take place in the jungle somewhere, that
the plane or the spacecraft would crash land somewhere in

(36:56):
the jungle, and this would be just an standard send
out a recon team with our main character type of
find an alien predator type, you know type thing they're
fighting something in the jungle somewhere.

Speaker 2 (37:14):
And I wasn't too enthused about that.

Speaker 3 (37:16):
But to have watched the first episode and you find
out that this thing crash lands in the middle of
a skyscraper in a.

Speaker 1 (37:24):
Very highly populated place, very.

Speaker 3 (37:27):
Highly populated skyscraper that is a it's a you know,
a place where it's an apartment skyscraper type thing, not
like a business skyscraper type thing. Adds that extra layer
of like oh fuck to it. And the fact that
they go into the ship at one point and then

(37:50):
exit the ship at another point through another crash hole,
and now you're in the actual apartment buildings trying to
as not a recon team but a search and rescue
team of just trying to get the people out of
the building, yep, because they don't know what's there. They
just know a ship crashed into this building. They're just
trying to do their job of get to get these

(38:10):
people out of a bill of a building that's crumbling.
The fact that you run into a party of just
well to do people that are just being assholes.

Speaker 2 (38:19):
That won't leave.

Speaker 3 (38:22):
Is a very interesting way of taking things, and I
thoroughly enjoy it. Yeah, So I do really enjoy the
way that they're taking things right now. And it adds
to the to the the the fear of not only
that you have this seemingly unstoppable thing, because they're very

(38:46):
much so not treating it like aliens where you're basically
just gunning down, gunning this thing down. They're very much
treating it like alien or alien isolation, where this does
seem like a more unstoppable armor force to be reckoned with.

Speaker 1 (39:02):
Yeah, because they're not really ready for what it is,
you know, they're they're and and and that's the thing is.
I think what's nice about is we're not dealing with
like we have yet to see what Whalan's gonna send in,
because obviously she's gonna send au force in to get
this thing and get her assets back, like a seat
maybe even like a special ops team that's gonna fucking
eliminate everything in sight, which is exciting thing about as well.

(39:25):
But like the group that goes there, there's they're soldiers,
but there is to your point, they're like a they're
like more of a more advanced police force and like
fire rescue than they are like an elite group of
fighting marines. Yeah, so that was cool, And you're missing
one big detail. And I don't know if you didn't catch

(39:46):
this or if you're you're forgetting about it. That skyscraper
isn't just a skyscraper. It's an underground skyscraper, scrape skyscraper
as well. So it has floors underneath, which are for
like the poor people, and then there's the higher rise
which are the rich people. In the middle area was
like a shopping mall, so like you have the fancy

(40:07):
dinner party, which is obviously higher up on like they
said sixty one or something. Yeah, but then you have
the sub areas. And then that's where episode spoiler episode
two is gonna lead us, because when the xenomorph tackles
the brother whose name I'm spacing on right now, out

(40:28):
the window, they go down and the part of the
ship therein is down already, so like they're going to
the sub floors, and obviously she leaves the dude there
when she eats out the window or the whole i'd
call window because it felt like a window. But like
then she leaves that dude there in a room with

(40:48):
four eggs. Yeah right, And now my question is how
synth are they? I mean, I know they're hybrids, but
is that because they have a human brain or like
human consciousness in a synth body.

Speaker 3 (41:08):
I would say that the human consciousness in the synth
body they did. They do make mention that they don't
bleed red, they bleed white, so they obviously have they
obviously are synths, like full on synths.

Speaker 1 (41:19):
So he's not really gonna be impregnated as far as
we know, because they're not. Because they talk about their
ageless bodies. They're they they're they're going to be that.

Speaker 3 (41:29):
Age red Matt who was taken I think his name
is Matt. The brother that was taken is human.

Speaker 1 (41:33):
But I'm talking of the kid in the room with
the room. No.

Speaker 3 (41:37):
That was the one thing that that they have yet
to really address that I kept thinking of every time
that they encountered something, because they even encountered the The
fucking cat was disgusting.

Speaker 1 (41:50):
It was fucking awesome.

Speaker 3 (41:52):
But while it attacked the girl, I don't think that
it would have really it could have done damage, but
nothing that there's.

Speaker 1 (42:03):
It wouldn't have been a takeover because it's machine.

Speaker 2 (42:05):
Been it will take over because she's essentially a machine.

Speaker 1 (42:07):
Yeah, okay, like the.

Speaker 3 (42:09):
Ticks shouldn't attack it because there's no blood for the
tick to get. The same thing that you see with
the which is probably what it's alluding to with the
freaking whatever plant looking thing that's hanging upside down.

Speaker 1 (42:22):
The fucking terrifying, by the way, I hate it.

Speaker 3 (42:25):
Not attacking because there's nothing to attack for it.

Speaker 1 (42:31):
It's because I'm guessing it's probably sent like trying a
sense if it could be food exactly, and it's like, no,
that's not flesh. So I'm not gonna worry about it.
Unless that thing came at me, then I'm like, I'm
probably have to defend myself.

Speaker 3 (42:44):
So same thing with a a face hugger could latch on,
but like, it's not gonna do anything.

Speaker 2 (42:50):
It can't. It can't do.

Speaker 1 (42:51):
Anything, and it may not because it may not have
a heat signature.

Speaker 2 (42:54):
May I have the proper heat signature type thing as well?

Speaker 3 (42:58):
So Yeah, the they're pretty much I would say immune
to a lot of these things. They're only they're only
held back by the fact that they're still children, which
was kind of the only real problem that I have
with the show and is more of my understanding with it,
is like I get that these are children in synth bodies,

(43:23):
which we've already seen her be able to drop from
extreme height and basically.

Speaker 2 (43:28):
Nothing.

Speaker 3 (43:29):
Yeah, like are they being trained to be.

Speaker 2 (43:36):
Are they going to eventually be trained to be soldiers?

Speaker 1 (43:41):
Like?

Speaker 3 (43:41):
What is their point? What is their actual point of this?
What is their point of being? Like they're afraid of everything, like, well,
some of them are well yeah, you literally have one
girl who is just like in sconced with all of

(44:01):
the things that are happening. It's just like, oh my god,
this is cool. But the rest of them are like
very more, very much child be scared. So being able
to send them out like soldiers of like no, you
go here, you go here was kind of like, I
don't know understand what you're trying to do here.

Speaker 1 (44:20):
I guess yeah, I mean we don't know. Uh, And
I don't have an answer for you because I'm not
too sure either other than the fact that this dude's
kind of a lunatic and he's like, nah, like we
can send them out there. I'm like, can you though,
because aren't these like.

Speaker 2 (44:34):
You're essentially sending kids and what do you.

Speaker 1 (44:36):
Like, what are you getting? I know what you're I know,
I mean, I don't know. I would assume it's kind
of is a field test in a way of like
to see what they can do. But the problem is,
like he has faith in children, and again I don't
know if he chose these children not just because they
were dying of diseases, but like, are they because he

(44:58):
mentions how she like Wendy's more special, m are the
other ones also special because the one kid want to
be a doctor or a scientist or whatever, right, and
he's the one that kind of like studying that plant
creature that just gave me the fucking willies. Like I'm all,
I'm okay with a fucking eyeball creature popping out of
a fucking desiccated cat. But that fucking thing.

Speaker 2 (45:19):
Hanging and just and not doing anything.

Speaker 1 (45:23):
And the little like the little fucking pedal lip thing
he's twitching, and then the fucking thing came out, and
it was like, I was like, I hate this. The
only thing that would make this worse if it was
a giant bird because I don't like big birds. Not
big bird but just big birds AnyWho. Uh. But yeah,

(45:48):
So like there's I mean, obviously there's a lot of questions.
We're only two episodes in, so we don't have all
of them yet. But it's very interesting because I don't
know what is actually going on. And the thing is,
we don't even know how long Wendy was in her
body before the other kids started going in, So how

(46:08):
was she more acclimated because she's like more in it
because she was obviously very timid before she went into
the body and then she got used to it. And
then how long have these kids been in the bodies
by the time we pick up where they go out?
Because they're not very much that I have. Yeah, they're
not as acclimated to their bodies as she is. But
also is her body different than hers? Because he kept

(46:31):
he keeps mentioning how she's special and he obviously has more.
He's given her more latitude than it seems the other
ones because she has access to the computer systems, which
apparently nobody else knew that she gave her those. So like,
is her body different in a way? And then why

(46:55):
can she magnet that weird paper chopper? Sword thing to her.

Speaker 3 (46:58):
Back was another interesting thing, Like she literally was like, yeah,
we're going and then just puts a sword on her
back and it was just like, wait, what, Yeah, we
trained and sorts at one point.

Speaker 1 (47:09):
I mean she may have been or it was downloaded.

Speaker 2 (47:12):
Or is it downloaded?

Speaker 3 (47:13):
Like I had that thought because they make they made
mention how she hacked into something or other and they're like, wait,
did we give her the ability to do that? Like
is this the matrix type thing where you can basically
just you know, hacked dot exy and install.

Speaker 2 (47:28):
New software where you can just do stuff.

Speaker 3 (47:32):
Now, yeah, I just learned kung fu, Like all right,
you yeah, is that how this works?

Speaker 1 (47:40):
Yeah, so yeah, yeah, there's a lot of stuff. I'm
so excited though, because it was those two episodes are
so fucking fun.

Speaker 3 (47:50):
But I do like the way that Yeah, I was
afraid to which I will say, like I said a
little bit before that, there was a lot there was
a bit of downtime in the first episode.

Speaker 2 (48:00):
That was a lot of talking and exposition and stuff.

Speaker 3 (48:02):
But they really did hit the ground in episode one
and just start showing you action and then you had
a little bit of slow down and then more action
and then a little bit of slow down. So I
do appreciate the fact that they did that. I know
you texted later wondering if they were even going to
show the alien in the first episode, and I was
wondering that too, Like how long I was afraid that, Like,

(48:26):
how long would we have to wait to see anything?

Speaker 2 (48:29):
Was it going to be an hour of.

Speaker 3 (48:30):
Episode of very much set up and then another episode
of like a little bit set up and then a
little bit of tease at the end there of what's happening. No,
this by halfway through the first episode, it's like, Nah,
this is what's happening. It's a crisis. We're just going
to jump right into it. So I very much so

(48:50):
love that they did that, and we're just getting into it,
just dragging things out.

Speaker 1 (48:54):
And they didn't shy away from showing the xenomorph. They
showed us the other creatures as well, not all of them, obviously.

Speaker 3 (49:01):
Ticks and were unsettling as well, Yeah, because they were
like they look like centipedes and then they like got
mosquitoed and like they started and they just drew all
the blood and then they like and they.

Speaker 2 (49:14):
Pumped the blood. Those motherfuckers don't take their time.

Speaker 1 (49:17):
And then then they crawl away with their bloated bodies
and the little legs caring and the fucking I was like,
and then also like I was thinking of this, and like,
obviously the one players I can talk to about it,
because I don't even if Taj watched it or not.
Plus good God talking to him when they were in
the lab, right and they're like, hey, something came out

(49:38):
of this, like or not in the lab but they're
in the cryo thing like something came out of this, right,
that's what leads them to the xenomorph. Right, So what
came out as a chest burster? Right?

Speaker 3 (49:50):
We're assuming yes because they they literally panned down at
that scene and you see one of the other pods.

Speaker 2 (49:55):
As it now dead.

Speaker 1 (49:58):
Yeah, okay, so that's what I was soon and then
I was like, okay, so that's obviously that's where the
xenomorph came from because it came out of the it
was a chest burster. After the face hugger. Then it's
like their eggs on the ship face hugger eggs, So

(50:20):
were those already there?

Speaker 3 (50:23):
I'm going to assume that they picked those up and
then they also had a specimen.

Speaker 1 (50:27):
Of of do they have a queen?

Speaker 3 (50:31):
I don't think they have a queen. I think they
picked up those eggs and brought them on. They So
here's the weird thing that that really thinking about it
right now, there might be two.

Speaker 2 (50:41):
Aliens on, thank you.

Speaker 1 (50:42):
Okay, that's what I was trying to get there.

Speaker 3 (50:44):
Multiply there, there is at least at least one. Obviously
I think there's now multiple because in that scene you
obviously show that the chest burster from the the cry out,
but you also have the person that was on the
the that was getting autopsyed, and they made mention that
there was something down the throat and you have the

(51:04):
chest open, that has to be another one.

Speaker 1 (51:07):
No, So I think so that one, I think they
did an autopsy and they took it out, so they
had the face hugger because there's a dead face hugger
in the the solution, right, So I think they tried
to get it off and then failed killed the face hugger.
But then to the point of the cryo beds, you

(51:28):
have the one that has the sealed thing with the
hole coming out of it, right, then you have another
one that has a dead face hugger in it and
that chest is open.

Speaker 2 (51:38):
So that's too that there was nobody in that cryo tube.

Speaker 1 (51:42):
It was, but that's what I'm saying. So if there's
a dead face hugger in this one that has that
burst it open, no body, right. But then there's the
one inside that is closed that had the chest burst
out open. Where's the face hugger for or that one?
Did they do what they did in Romulus where they

(52:02):
the facehgger eventually fell off and then they put the
person in the cryo to try to save them.

Speaker 2 (52:08):
Could be because.

Speaker 1 (52:09):
Then there's a dead face hugger in another one. So
is there another body that's missing.

Speaker 3 (52:15):
Yeah, I definitely think there's multiple aliens. They just haven't
showed them yet.

Speaker 1 (52:19):
There's about to be more because there's four eggs that
look ready to high to fucking pop, and there's a
bunch of squishy people running around that aren't sent or
aren't hybrids, all.

Speaker 3 (52:31):
In a sort that and there's more star units in
the in the building. They literally showed it that that
there now are more than just one initial team that
we were following.

Speaker 1 (52:42):
But then but then.

Speaker 2 (52:43):
Because they get massacred.

Speaker 1 (52:45):
Whalen is sending a group mm hmm. And they're gonna
go to the ship mm hmm. Guess where those eggs are? Yeah,
the ship. So excited. Yeah, there's a pretty cool clip,
see if I can find it isn't and it's not
I don't think it's spoiling anything, but it's a cool
looking clip where it shows a xenomorph in like uh

(53:08):
like it's the shot is in from the inside of
a cave to like uh not really jungly area, but
like more of like just it has foliage and stuff,
and the xenowarf is in the sunlight all crouch and
he's looking around and looks so fucking cool, dude, Like
I think it's from the up, like coming up on this,

(53:29):
like coming up on this in this season or whatever.
But it's just the cool look of that fucking alien,
just like the xenomorph crouch and it's like turning its
head and you can see the whole breath of its
Oh dude, I was like, know how you are fucking
doing the Lord's work. We got fide Alvarez killing it
in the movies. We got this guy somehow making bring it,

(53:52):
Like I don't know because Disney's like, bro, here's a
fuck ton of money. Or if it even took a
lot of money, I'm not too sure because it looks
real good.

Speaker 3 (54:00):
It had to have taken a lot of money. These
are really expensive sets and yeah.

Speaker 1 (54:05):
And the like it brought you just in the fact,
like there's no way this is on regular TV. I
know if it's on FX right, like it's a cable channel.
But bro, they said shit, at one point, there's blood
literally everywhere, like there's.

Speaker 3 (54:21):
A well during the party, scene. You literally have a
dude just crawling away.

Speaker 2 (54:24):
I have to do.

Speaker 3 (54:27):
The gruesome cat just half crawling. Yeah, this is definitely
something that you couldn't get away with.

Speaker 2 (54:34):
On normal cable.

Speaker 1 (54:35):
So excited.

Speaker 2 (54:37):
Yeah, so I can't wait for the rest of the season.
Yeah myself.

Speaker 1 (54:41):
So I'll see if I can find that clip or
whatever and I'll send it to you, even if it's
a picture. It's pretty dope too. But yeah, it's so rad.
I just get out fucking wait. Anyhow, that's it for
this week's episode of Comes Naturally. We have been joke
Evan Cody, and as usual, you fuckers just came naturally.

Speaker 2 (55:04):
Ay bye,
