Geomática, término compuesto por geo, (Tierra), y mática, que significa "automatización".
Es una ciencia también llamada ingeniería geomática o tecnología geoespacial.
Se ocupa de la gestión de información geográfica mediante el empleo de tecnologías de la información y la comunicación.
