(00:00):
This is Conversate with Us with ChrisDonovan and Eveliny Revas. Here we are,
We're here, and we're back.We are so back. Look at
us, kind of look at us. We found time. We look at
us. Who knew you and Ibut actually sit on the same couch.
We're literally sitting on the same couchright now, which is weird because I'm
(00:21):
usually looking at the board right nowand I can't and the microphone's up in
my right eye and I can't seeyou out of it, and it's like
weird. Chris is usually in producermode because every time we do our podcasts,
he's like in a different area. But we made it work where we
could both sit literally on our loveseat. Oh, I'll look at us
on our love seat together. Disclaimerif you hear a big crash later,
(00:44):
just my microphone falling off the table, I think it might happen. Other
than that, everything's going good.Everything we're hearing and we apologize, but
I'm not going to go too farinto it. You know how this goes.
If you've listened to our podcast,if we haven't done one a couple
months, I'm not I don't wantto. I don't want. I don't
even want to know how long it'sthere's god awful. Sometimes good reasons,
(01:07):
sometimes bad reasons. Either way, usually one includes me having some painful things
happen, or or everything's great, everything's so good that we literally have no
time. So for the most part, it's been good. Everything's been good.
You're good. I'm not hurt again. So why don't we just go
ahead? Not a hurrigain. Hehasn't had the cris crisis of episode eighty
(01:30):
six. No, I was kidding. I don't even know what episode that
was. By year now, twentythree, by year now, ye,
I know my crisis for this yearyear before. I'm with you. I'm
just trying to be consistent. No, yeah, well it's it would be
about this time of year. Oh, I don't have to do that.
Said, let's get to that.Maybe it'll be my crisis, please don't.
(01:51):
It could be. Hold on,let me make a reservation at the
hospital. Let's throw some dice. All right, so let's get into right
now, right now, right what'syour right now? Right now? Okay,
my right now right now is goingto be Oh gosh, this is
there's so many things, there's somany things, so many things happening right
(02:13):
now, right now. Shouldn't youjust say I'm sitting on the couch recording
podcast. Well, that's the rightnow. It'st of the right house,
so many things. Okay, Idon't even know where to take this from.
Okay, dance, I'll say, dance. Oh my god, Cassie's
dance season has engulfed my entire life. Yes, if you follow me on
Instagram you probably noticed. But she'shad a wonderful dance season. And what's
(02:38):
going on right now, right nowis we are on a little we got
a weak break, and then wehave one last regional for her where she'll
perform her routines one more time.We have one little showcase and then Nationals.
So we are winding down the season. We are at the part of
(02:58):
the end of the season where I'mkind of getting a little sad but super
excited. And I'll translate that forall the men out there that don't understand
the whole words that she said.We have two more weekends that are gonna
be taken over. In one weekendthat's going to be a recital. Yeah,
and guess who's in the recital.Cassie and Cassie and Cassie you.
(03:22):
Oh yes, there's a father daughterpart of the recital. I'm so excited
about it. I can't wait toshow them all my mc hammer dance.
Oh my god, is that whatyou're gonna do? That's your plan across
that you're gonna go across? Whatdo I need to buy you? Like
some big pants? No, I'msure I have my old ones? Oh
(03:43):
Dad, No, I know youdon't. You have four things in your
closet. I know for a factthat is true, and none of them
are black or blue or maroon vnex. So it's like I'm the cartoon
where they walk in their closet islike all the shirts, all the jack
It's all like the part Simpson ofour house. For the record, you
were the exact same thing. Idon't mind everything style. Well, isn't
(04:10):
that being consistent? Isn't that justbeing a person. No, it's kind
of it's the Chris uniform. It'skind of how the kids and I have
talked about. It's not the wordthat you should use behind your back.
Just you just told me to myface before you should just say Dad's clothes.
No, I like my v nex. It makes me not feel constricused.
(04:33):
But here's how this is the problem. What is happening? Where was
right now? Right now? Gowhat's going on right now? Right now?
You went through dance sideways. Yes, we'll go back to your wardrobe
at some point. Anyway, that'swhat's happening. So we've been fully involved
in Cassie's dance life. This season'sare busy, and I'm excited. I'm
(04:57):
I love and hate that it isending because you know how you know I
love you love it because you loveit's so much. I love seeing her
on stage. Um, but youwant it over so bad. I can't
wait for a whole monthent. Ittakes up so much time. That's why
it's all it is. And sobut now that they're like about to be
out of school, like all thosethings, part of me is like,
Okay, I'm gonna have some We'llhave more time and I don't have to
(05:19):
be racing from this place to thisplace to this place to get her this
place, all those things. That'sa lot of my life, right that's
my My entire life is after schoolis pick this one up, pick this
one up, go here, gohere, drop this one. It's chaos.
So now she'll get to sleep in, I'll come home. Hey,
(05:40):
is your dance bag ready? Letme take it a class. It's way
less involved, so that's great. The other part of it is I really
love watching her dance. Yeah, you know what I mean. It's been
so such a joy. Especially thisseason has been so much better than last
season. And it's it's not thatI did. She wasn't good last year,
(06:02):
wasn't doing a solo last year.Things that were There's a lot of
differential but differentiating factors. Yeah, different things. Well I was. I
was trying to use a big word, but I just had to drink.
So whatever. The two and ahalf to three days you guys sit together
doing makeup before you guys go aday smin hours I said, our purpose.
(06:25):
I know, but it is kindof days like days. No,
when you do your makeup, youguys are being goofy and silly, and
then I come in and screw thingsup and she gets in trouble and you
yell at her. It's kind offun. I love it. It's it's
we it's our bonding moments. She'smy last baby, and it's it's kind
of it kind of makes it sad. Because she's getting older, and she's
also starting to do her own makeupfor dance, which I hate. I
(06:49):
know she's like, look, Idid my lipstick and then look at her
and I'm like, right, neverdo it again. No, I don't
hate it because she can do it. I hate it because she can do
it. I hate her because itdoesn't mean me. I hate her because
it's like that was my thing.Everyone's gonna be in the mirror with the
lipstick just going, oh my god, like rubbing it around her lips,
(07:13):
her nose, because it's I'm whenI'm losing it. You'll know. You'll
know what I'm losing it because they'regonna be all dance makeup smeared across my
face, eyelash is coming out ofher forehead. I'm gonna walk I'm gonna
walk in and be like I didn'tsee anything. I turn around and walk
out. I'm just gonna be thatthat mom losing friends will be on her
(07:36):
iPad or something silly. I'm justthis is just sad. Okay, So
that was you right now, rightnow? Yeah, with yours, I'm
sure. Well, there's so muchagain, I understand there's been a lot
of things so why don't you justpick something that's happened. I mean,
and I hate to be like, what's right now? Right now? That's
(07:57):
like not but there's been a lotof right now things opening for you.
Yes, give us an update onyour job. I'm still employed. Yeah.
Oh, my wife is always happywhen I say that. Stopping.
No, I'm still still hot. It's been a while since we've been on
here, so I don't know howmuch I've said, but I've took it
(08:18):
over the biggest office. Took andsee my English is really good. I've
taken over the largest office in theback of the building, in the area
that I can. The team goesin there, there's the TV in there.
We hung a bunch of pictures. We got some colorful uh what do
you call those things? Whiteboard markersfor the white boards. Fancy made fancy
and there I was like, oh, look at all these colors. And
(08:39):
I'm like, yeah, you unleashedthe beast with these colors when you bought
all these expos So what I willsay is that we I have been to
both of your offices at this point, because you have two offices, which
is so fancy, and um,I can tell that Chris has left the
mark in those offices because everybody whotalks to me, yeah, when you're
(09:03):
busy doing things, is like Chrishas been such a game changer. I
heard that specifically today. Wow,I'm glad Chris has just changed everything.
It's like all these things, it'slike a new energy into da da da.
That's really exciting, but you knowit was. It's really so.
Everything's going good. We've got someevents coming up, we have new things
(09:24):
that might involve me on air moreoften. So yes, of course,
you know that's my passion. Ican't wait till we could talk about it
and what you came up with thisawesome name for what you're going to be
doing and we can't say it yetbecause it's not out yet. But I'm
so excited about it. Even thoughyou're my competitor and I hate you,
that doesn't matter. I'm not andshe doesn't hate me. But whoever gets
(09:48):
to the bonus gets to buy dinner. Money goes to the same pup.
All right, So now we're gonnado what food? So yeah, let's
get into our food. Talk aboutthe swinging Yes, okay, So Hank
from Breaking Bad bought a restaurant Intomecula. It's the coolest little the movie trailer.
(10:09):
Hank from Breaking Bad bought a restaurantinto Mecula and two more buildings that
he's building more. But yeah, there's so many things we found out to
me. In cafe is what it'scalled the Texas Barbecue Place. Yeah,
it wasn't barbecue till he came in. Util Dean came in. Dean is
Hank. Hank is Dean Um.He's the actor known as Hank. Hank
(10:31):
from Breaking Bad's real name is Deancorrect. Yes, but he brought in
the barbecue. They never they weren'tdoing dinner at the time. He brought
in dinner. Um. So that'swhat I was stalking Breaking Bad online like
I always do, And then Isaw Brian Cranston was in Tomecula at a
restaurant and it was Dean Norrises orHank from Breaking Bad. Yeah, and
(10:52):
I'm like, okay, we haveto go there. You have to go
there. And this was before Igot the job. Yeah, so you
weren't even going to be working intomcdad. I was like, let's just
go, let's just go there.Yeah, we were not We're fans we're
like big fans and our son nowis a big breaking band, breaking bad,
breaking bands. That sounds like abreaking Benjamin's. It sounds like a
band breaking bad, breaking bands ofthe reality show. Is it really it
(11:15):
should be? It should be breakingbands, breaking bads. Somebody listening,
write that down and email it tous so we have a timestamp, so
we know we came up with theidea. Please please yes, or to
take the idea and we'll we'll befully supported to take fifty percent of the
profits. That's enough. That's finefor us. Um but yes, breaking
bads. So we're all into it. So so it's become a thing.
So we were like, we gottago down the down there and now you
(11:37):
you're working in this gig and you'vealready been doing some kind of stuff with
that. It looked less stockery whenI went down there and I had a
job, like like a job official, like if you were a real,
a real person during promotions. I'mnot just sitting in the restaurant going where
is he? What is he?No? I actually had a motive.
I've reached out prior, had talkedto him. He agreed, said it
(12:00):
would be okay. After the firstvisit. I went once and I just
looked around. I ate because Iwanted to taste some of the food and
I had the sliders, which islike three different types of barbecue. Is
so good? Yes, And Iwas like, okay, cool, because
I don't want to like refer restaurantsthat aren't good. Further yeah yeah yeah.
But also i'm you know, didn'tI am half stalker here? And
then you wanted to go check itout? Yeah, And if it's good,
(12:22):
then we're gonna be like okay,I mean we're all in. Yeah,
So I I said cool. Andthat's when I emailed him that day
and reached out and said I wasdown there and said it was great and
I'd like to do something and Imentioned myself there and left my card for
them, and he reached out thenext day and said, yeah, I
really wanted to do radio. Andthen everything worked out where last week on
our station to Mecula and uh,and I went down there twice. Yeah.
(12:46):
Once I was thinking, okay, cool, I me emailed him,
I'm like, okay, cool,I'll be down there this day. I'll
pick up the gift cards and abig deal. And then I never heard
anything back. But I still wentdown there that day, never ran into
him. So I'm like, okay, I can't make it down there.
I'm gonna send him, you know, somebody from the station that's in Temecula,
Abby and blah blah blah. Anyway, I send Mia down from mid
Days and she goes down there.First thing runs right into them. Its
(13:07):
pictures don't be bad. But I'mlike, uh no, that's not messed
up. So we went today. We did go today. It wasn't there
again. It's okay, but wegot to have a great conversation with Loretta
Yes, the general manager, andshe is the sweetest of all the things.
Yes, And she told us alot about what's happening. And there's
a lot of building, which probabwe probably couldn't say, Well, there's
(13:28):
a lot going on just next tothe swing and what they were trying to
build, what they're trying to do, and it's so freaking cool, and
I'm so proud of them. AndI know it's weird to say I'm proud
of somebody that's already so successful, but it's really cool to see something so
cool happening in our community. Andit makes me so happy and It makes
me proud for our community. Weall grew up well I did, at
(13:52):
least here in the Atlanta higher andTemecula is always like a special place for
us too. Like we go andFront Street is just so gorgeous. You
know, old town Temecula is justamazing. It always has been, and
now it's even better than it everhas been. It's still that old town
(14:13):
vibe, but it's so I meanevery there's everything. You can go down
there not know what you're going todo and just walk for hours. There's
little coffee shops, there's boutiques, there's a merchantile. It's really not far.
Yeah, it's so girl close andit's beautiful. Um I think that.
Uh. I can't wait to youknow, be able to spend a
(14:35):
weekend down and down there. Yeah, we should just do that, where
like we do a weekend at awine winery and then just go to Front
Street for like the rest of theI'm not not my saying it's French.
Yeah it's but it's fun. That'sthe one in Lahina. No, but
it's front I do I just assumeyou're a front No, no, no,
I should look Well, it's oldtown to me. Because everything.
(14:58):
I just turned down a street andI know where I'm at, but I
feel like it's Front Street anyway. There's a massive amount of restaurants down there
is a massive amount of a littlecool shops and stuff. So it's so
great get out, especially because yummy, so good. I'm gonna make sure
i'm saying this right at Oez,she sneezing. I think I'm safe.
(15:26):
Are you alive? Old Town FrontStreet? It is, it's called old
Town Front Street. Do we havea dog? We don't have a dog.
My allergies are whose allergies are onfire right now? My allergies are
next level right now. I don'thave allergies. I'm sorry, you're so
(15:48):
well. Sorry. Wow, itwas my Jeams gun moment. That was
the one F bomb we get.Now we're still rated. I have to
put an explicit warning on the podcast. One more we have to. So
yes, it's check it out forthe red gorgeous. It's not good.
It's on the It literally has arail you can eat and stare at the
road. The cold stuff. Soyeah, check that out. Yeah,
(16:11):
and we're just going to talk therest of this episode about catching up about
what else is going on kind ofSo Okay, my job, I gave
an update on how, um,how is your job, Evelyn? My
job is good. Everything is goinggood. Um still working at the same
radio station for the last twenty oneyears, almost twenty two years. Yeah,
(16:33):
it's awesome, that's amazing. Itis really good. Things are good.
I am really excited because I've beenworking really hard to grow my This
is going to sound so in theweeds, but you know what, if
you listen to this podcast, youclearly love me and Chris and so I'm
just gonna let you in on thiswhole thing. I've been working really hard
(16:55):
on growing my social presence. Yeah, and I got it. I landed
a really amazing partnership with a companythrough the summer called Only Fans. But
I thought about it Dad Dogs Okay, I can't believe you put that out
(17:15):
because that's something I'm working on.Talked tell me how great Dad dogs would
do? Yes, a different Dadfeet picks. That's gross, soss.
You know who came up we whogave up with that? Who gave up
with that name? Okay? Oneof us, one of us, one
(17:37):
of us of us know why?Because we're weird right, clearly our children
are weird. Uh No, Yeah, everything's been good. I landed an
incredible partnership with I e HP,which is dope. I'm so excited in
an Empire Health Plan the P Ialways worry about that that's a really weird
(17:59):
sty No, but and that's andthen saying what it means and then Empire
Health Plan. I'm really excited aboutit because they reached out to me specifically
through Instagram and it's it's it's sointeresting when you start growing a presence and
then people start finding you. Look, I know, I've been like a
thing in the community for a longtime. But these brands, they're new
(18:23):
to social media marketing still, andso and so so many of them are
like, oh, we don't knowwho to if we're going to do social
media, what do we Who dowe go to? They don't know?
And honest to god, going withme is so smart because they find a
respected brand. Yeah, and goingwith me is so smart because I do
(18:44):
have a name in this community. On top of now, I finally had
like a social media footprint presence, which is really cool. And so yeah,
I'm just I'm just dirt blowing overthose footprints right now. I'm like,
you're going, we're working on Chrisright now. We're trying to get
him some new v NEX shirts. That's right, different colors. Let's do
orange and pink and green. Weneed to find Chris some new shirts.
(19:10):
He's comfortable different colors. Uh no, but yeah, so we're working on
I'm working on some stuff with themthat I'm going to do through the whole
summer, mostly geared towards preventative care. So just things like don't forget to
take your kids to get their checkups, like things really easy, stuff
that I actually believe in. Soit's fine because it's I would never do
(19:32):
something that I don't believe in,So it's really checked. It's more about
like making sure you're staying on topof your kids going you know, they're
crow just there checkups. I don'tthink we've had our eyes checked. And
I just I literally got a texttoday saying I'm overdue for my eye checking.
Read it. No, I'm setting, but I had my text on
like three times. Magnifier. I'mgetting You're like, I don't my parents
(20:00):
do though, Oh I still holdsit a mile away. When I see
my parents' votes, I die.I'm like, how huge is that text
font? It's like, what timeis it? It's one? Oh,
I don't know what that othern't Iwas at an eight? Or is it?
It is? Like why why isonly half of that number on air?
Yes? Oh you're good? Nono, no, yeah. So
(20:22):
things like that, things like healthyhabits, remembering things like remembering something remembering
which is yeah. I can't getbehind that because clearly I'm against it.
You can get you against it,you just don't remember how to do it.
I decided I'm not a I'm againstit. My memory said what rough
(20:45):
rough memory? Shit? Oh no, there's my second red word. Oh
it's only F bombs say the Sword. Yes, that doesn't matter.
I said it on the radio fora long time before somebody told me I
couldn't. I was like, hey, hit me up and we can shoot
the ship. Christopher Donovan modin flogger, Are you serious? Apparently didn't offend
them many people and or nobody. That's exactly why. Well, oh you
(21:11):
have to jump on that train andso fast. Well I'm just saying that
because now you work at that sameplace. Boom oh no. I left
and did a bunch of things thatcame back. What did you do date
at the same place, had asteady paycheck, took care of our family?
Would you do? Oh? Don'tyou learned how to build an empire?
(21:32):
Oh? Yeah, cool? Andhow to go buy milk so you
can run away. Look about whatI'm gonna do. I'm gonna go get
a lot of ticket in the milk. I'll be back. Keep the recording
going, No, I'll be backquick. It won't goo wow podcast.
Don't don't dis don't try to dissme because I don't do that. This
(21:56):
is this is dating backs name.Yeah, but when you put them that
way, you make it feel likeI wasn't doing you were. I'm just
messing with it. Wow, dishit out, but you can't take it.
Huh. This should be video becauseyou should see my hand. I
want to throw a pillow at herright now, the kind of pillow that
(22:21):
weighs like a brick. I youknow what I just love the most about
me about this podcast, damn itwas about you, is that every one
of our friends that listens to thispodcast is dying right now. I hope
so if not, we're just doingthis for It's like your old radio show.
(22:45):
Oh I could say something, butit's it's okay, you just okay,
We're done. We're done. We'reso oh are we gonna? I
think our whole next episode should bejust us going back and forth, like
just just roast roast battle, roastbattle, converse seat roast, what would
(23:08):
what would be roast roast? Becauselike roast is actually like food topic.
So it's like, really, yeah, we could, I could go,
we could, I could roast you, but I need time to write stuff
because I'm not good on the spotwith you, like because I get messed
because you're beautiful, and I getlike all confused, like do I count
look at him? Subdue fight withher because every time she says something,
(23:30):
I'm like, yes, yes,I've been lost in your eyes. But
but hold on, stop it.I have heard him roast me on stage
at that's very You're not talking back. I'm in the crowd, trying to
take it like a woman out there. What does that mean? Listening to
(23:53):
my mother laugh her butt off whileyou roast me? It worked out great
for me, it did, Okay, so we should just in this.
Okay, cool, Thank you forlistening. You can always go to This
is Fun or dot com to findout about us all the time. Yeah,
that's that's where we're at. Hey, we're going to record our next
(24:14):
episode directly after this one, Soif I were you, I'd stay here,
d because we're still drinking with us. I'm very seat with us.
Thank you for listening to the conversationwith us.
