Tonight on Cosmic Cantina, we're talkingabout haunted objects, some ancient and some
new. With the recent release ofthe latest documentary from Greg and Dana Newkirk,
The Unbinding, We've decided to breakit down and get our paranormal on.
What is the energy that possesses theseitems? Is it related to the
people who own them or is itsome terrible entity that just likes to see

(00:22):
a swarm. Either way, let'sshare a drink and get into these crazy
stories on an all new Cosmic Cantina. I'm your host, Melissa Tittle,
and every week I go to myfavorite bar, Cosmic Cantina, and kickback
with my co hosts, Josh Golumbuskiand Matt O'Connor. We talk about aliens,

(00:43):
bigfoot, ghosts, ancient cultures, and anything from the unseen world that
needs a little illumination. Welcome toCosma Cantina. I'm your host, Melissa
Tittle, and tonight I'm back onthe wagon, everybody. I'm drinking eighth
antsy Italian red wine. I reallydon't know what it is. We got

(01:04):
a lot of bottles upstairs and Ijust grabbed one and it's really good.
How about you sometimes that's the bestway to go. Yeah. Oh man,
I'm gonna jump on in here.I just came back from the brewery.
So I feeling fine, feeling good, feeling fire. Yes, beware
everybody, it's gonna be a funshow. And so I just thought i'd

(01:26):
calm things down a little little glassof the brown stuff whiskey, just to
just to end things off nicely forthis what a week, midweek Wednesday night,
I'll okay, yeah, anyway,Josh, what are you going me?
I'm drinking random red wine like Melissa. I went to the store.
I almost bought an expensive bottle, but instead I bought the one that was

(01:47):
on sale. It's not bad.I can't tell the difference. I'm loving
it. It's the middle of winterand it's Wednesday. I did dryer January,
so I am drinking less. Youknow, I'm being healthy and positive
to my body. But you know, I'm still I'm still keeping it real.
For the Costa Crawd unlike Melissa's dranktea for like six episodes in a
row, like a little bit.Yeah in the wagon, you're felling You're

(02:07):
falling straight off that wagon and joinedus in the mud down here. Well,
I mean, you weren't in Mexicodrinking you know, twenty tequilas every
day, So hey, just calmdown, all right, My bad,
My bad, Yeah, good point. All right, Look, people,
we are taking a break from thealiens just for a little bit. Don't
get scared. We're going to comeback to them. I'm sure there's gonna

(02:28):
be something mind blowing in the newspretty soon. But we just wanted to
go back to our creepy Crawley stuffbecause we love it so bad and we
know that deep down you just wanta really good story, and you know,
Matt is just hype to talk aboutsomething deep, dark and scary,
taking hard and gross as you tosay it. It's a serious show.

(02:53):
So we wanted to talk about We'vedone episodes on this, but we really
wanted to talk about cursed op becausemaybe some of the problems everybody's having in
their lives has to do with cursedobjects in your home and you don't even
know it. Of course, Ifound an article about it, so we
always have to start this podcast outwith a boring article. But this article

(03:15):
specifically states six cursed objects that continueto haunt their owners. Now there's lots
of stories like this, you know, those acrossed America, different countries,
but I specifically picked a couple inhere. I'm not going to go through
all six that I just thought werereally interesting. Okay, the first one,

(03:36):
the origin of the Anguished Man,remains a mystery, as both its
artists and date of creation are unknown. So if you look at this painting
right here, look at this guy, it's said that the creator of this
painting, Now, why would youbuy this painting? Like, listen to
what I'm about to tell you.The creator of this painting used his own
blood and mixed it with the oilpaint, and at the end of his

(03:59):
work he can amitted suicide. Signme up. How much is that painting?
I definitely wanted in my living room? Like, yeah, that's edgy
as fuck. Wow. So thesupernatural history goes that the cursed artwork begins
in North England when the grandmother ofthe current owner took possession of the painting

(04:23):
and then realized it was it justthere was something wrong. There was all
sorts of weird stuff happened in herhouse. She gave it to her grandson,
which you know I would just getrid of it, like handed to
somebody not in my family. Terriblegift. Looks like the guy got a
finger in his butt for the firsttime or something. Look at him.
Oh, that's what I looked likein college. First time it happened to

(04:43):
me, and the second. Thethird though, I got used to it.
Yeah. After the third you kindof ease into it, You're okay
with it. Yeah. Anyways,I'm off to a hot start here.
Let's go. Let's keep going.I have so many questions you guys,
Okay, continue on here anyway. With this painting, the grandson, I

(05:05):
guess there's you. I didn't findit on the internet, but I guess
there's a uploaded YouTube videos of thepainting screaming and groaning, and the and
the fabric kind of tears when it'swhen it screams and groans. I mean,
is that what it was like incollege? Yeah? Exactly? Actually,

(05:28):
yeah. For the guy's name isSean Robinson, and apparently he has
YouTube videos of this anguish man screaming, so check it out, all right.
The next artifact is uh. Thenext two are both from archaeology digs
and which is right up my alley, and this one is specifically I picked

(05:53):
for cosmic Cantina because it has theworld balls in it, Ballista balls,
stolen artifacts, and twenty years ofbad luck. All right, look at
these balls. One's bigger than theother. That's right. It happened.
Yeah, I was like that.Oh my god. Okay, I won't

(06:15):
say his name. We keep going, I'm serious, but keep going right.
Within Roman military history, the GrecoRoman ballista was a weapon similar to
the crossbow, but at a largerscale, which fired arrows or stones.
In nineteen eighty nine, archaeology workswere being carried out in the Israeli Syrian
border. These ballista balls were foundalongside what appeared to be the remains of

(06:39):
a ballista. Years later, innineteen ninety five, some ammunition of the
Roman War artifacts was subjected subtracted fromthe site, but the theft wasn't noticed.
Time passed, and in twenty fifteenyou'll see this little note underneath the
balls. Several rock balls that matchthe ones found in the dans of nineteen
eighty nine appeared in the courtyard ofa museum in Israel with a note,

(07:01):
and this note, supposedly written bythe thiefs, stated that after stealing these
balls, we had experienced profound badluck and he believed them to be cursed
items. Keep your hands on yourown balls, people, that's a great,
great lesson in life. This remindsme of you know how in Man.

(07:23):
I think it's in Hawaii and otherdifferent sort of island of places like
that. If you if you supposedlytake like the rocks or whatever back from
him, it's like bad luck andit like gives horrible luck to your house,
and all sorts of things happen. And there's like I think it's in
Hawaii too, there's like a aspecific uh you know company government body who

(07:49):
basically has basically receives these rocks frompeople sending them back being like I don't
want the ship in my house, sonnymore, please take these back? About
that? Yeah, that's really interesting. Yeah, especially Native American sites.

(08:09):
I'm going to tell a personal storyabout something that happened to my house.
Actually, but I have but Ihave one more and then and then let
me get back to that. Okay, So I might say this this name
wrong, but it's the Ring ofsenecas uh, the Ring of Seneca.
Dass yep, this really is asyou picked the best three things ever of

(08:33):
all times and a guy screaming fromhis first fingering. Pretty great, you
guys. I'm just through this showand give people information and you're constantly corrupted
me with your jokes. We getin trouble for this too. I'm sorry
it's a little too much, butI don't know if I can hold back.
Okay, all right, let meget it. Magic rings, I

(08:56):
have a prominent place in folklore, legend and fiction. Here is this.
This is an example of a realring believed to be cursed. The Ring
of Sinconus was an artifact discovered inseventeen eighty five by a farmer plowing the
land a few miles away from Silchesterin Hampshire is the year. As the

(09:16):
years passed, the discovery fell intoan oblivion until said artifact came into the
hands of the British archaeologists. TheRoman ring is made of twelve grams of
gold and bears the Latin inscription Senecanusvs n DM. By nineteen twenty nine,
new information brought Reverlans to the forgottenring when a scholar was making an
inventory of the artifacts under his chargeand by chance found some curious sinister details.

(09:41):
This data related to the ring withthe finding of the archaeological excavation that
was carried out in nineteen hundred justeighty miles away from where the ring was
found at a place called Lydney. At the site, Archael just found a
tablet in which a Roman named SilvanusSilvanis told Nodens, the Celtic god of

(10:03):
healing and hunting, that his ringhad been stolen. He also knew the
person responsible for this act, andhe asked the god to do justice.
The inscribed curse stated, may hebear the name of Syneconas not have health
until he brings the ring back tothe temple of the Nodens. So anybody

(10:24):
who had this ring, it's curseduntil it returned back to the site of
which it came from. Isn't thatcrazy? Well? Did I hear that?
Right? So that this is agod's ring? Is that what the
god was claiming? This was hisring? Is that? How? I
am asked the gods to create justiceover the stolen ring because he knew stole
it, and he said, youknow, to curse this person until they

(10:45):
brought it back to the temple ofNoden, which was where this person was
living. Right, So It's alittle side note is that it's said that
Tolkien found out about this case andinvestigated and also kind of made it the
inspiration for the Lord of the Ring. Oh, I was going to say
that. I think I immediately wantedto make a Lord of the Rings reference,

(11:05):
but I held back. I madetoo many dick jokes in the first
five minutes. But yeah, thatlooks like the Lord of the Rings Ring.
That's really cool. I like thatstory. Just leaning into it,
Josh, you'll be fine. Yeah, yeah, you got a little scared.
It's okay, okay, all right. I just wanted to you know,
I was reading through this stuff andI, you know, I kind
of forget about I forgot about it. We all do this when we have

(11:26):
something kind of scary happens to us, and we go through it and then
we put it aside and like everything'sdone, it's healed, it's good.
We're not going to touch anymore. But I was reading through this and I
have a really old house, notthis one with piano, a different house
where I have. I have it'sbuilt on Native American land, uh not,

(11:48):
you know, I had it allchecked out. It's not on a
barrel of ground. Or anything. But it's on very old land and it's
a very old house. And whenwe bought the house, uh, there
was artifacts in the house that somebodyhad collected. Some of them look Native
American or Native and I said,I want to keep them because they were
cool and it's definitely in my wheelhouse. Right, So do you want to

(12:11):
show that picture? Okay, Sohere's the room. This is only a
piece of the room. But ifyou notice, if you zoom in,
there's this like weird bat pig thing. It's creepy. Oh I don't make
eye contact with it. Damn. It's kept out there. Accept that there.

(12:31):
And so the thing is like thehouse is beautiful, it has this
like amazing energy, but there's likethis feeling that something's watching you. And
it was always this room and thisroom is like an office, beautiful office
with all these artifacts. It keepsgetting closer and then there's these there's the
other rooms attached off of it.So it's always like it's always in the

(12:54):
back of the house, but youfeel it, right, And I thought,
okay, well, it's just becausethe house is big and it gets
and you can't see that side andwhatever. But then a bunch of other
people that were staying at the housesaid to me, Hey, we think
it's haunted or there's like an energyin this room. And I'm like,
I have to do something because Ifelt the same way. Like I stayed
there by myself, and I leftall the lights on when I was sleeping,

(13:16):
and I burned a bunch of incense, and I was just like,
I don't know what it is.Stop watching me. Oh man, you
know what's interesting, Melissa is justbeneath it is worship the iron horseshoe,
which I've been I've been diving intoa bunch of like traditional Irish fay folks

(13:37):
stories, and it's not like thatwe have wings and we grant wishes and
finger your pea hole. No,these are like the horrible little fuckers that
get around the place. And youknow, the ancient Irish people would say
to just ignore them, don't givethem any attention or whatever, because the

(13:58):
more you fuck with them, themore fuck with you kind of thing.
But this, this old thing ofiron, and especially the iron horseshoe,
is like a seal, like itkeeps it it keeps it in or keeps
it out. Interesting. So Iwonder if I don't know that horseshoes.
Keep that horseshoe there, buddy.Yeah, that is really interesting. Yeah.

(14:22):
The people before, it's like theythey planted all these specific plants,
like I'm really into medicinal plants, and they planted the plants specifically in a
way around the house. Like Iresearched all of them and because I thought
they were so odd the way thatthey were placed to protect the house.
So there was some kind of protectiongoing on. Oh. I call a

(14:45):
local Native American guy and I said, I think there's an entity in my
house, and I want to makesure that I'm not like an Indian burial
ground or anything, right, Anduh So he's like okay, So it
comes out to the property and he'slike, good news, you're not on
an Indian burial ground. And anybodywho's died in this house does not want

(15:07):
to stay here. And I'm like, well, then, what the hell's
here? He's like, there isa massive entity. And the way they
measure entity is in size, right, so meaning like the amount of mass
that it's gathered from from kind ofinterfering with our dimension of reality is how
big and powerful it is. Sothis one was like twenty feet twenty feet
wide, right, like, socomes to twenty feet it was a decent

(15:31):
side. He's like, he's like, if you ever encounter an entity that's
like you can't breathe, Like youwake up and something's on your chest,
you're looking at something that's like twohundred and fifty feet. So he's like,
it's not that big a decent size, and I thought, okay,
yeah, I hadn't heard that either, like inches or what are we saying?
It's decent? It was the biggestI've ever seen. It was so

(15:52):
much. This is fine, right, Like five is fine, right,
that'd be totally fine. Fine,I'm fine to me entity in your house?
Yeah, okay, okay, itdoes the job, does the job.
What are we talking about? Idon't know what happened, but I
do want to say quickly that ourdirector of the show did point out that
a horseshoe upward is to keep luckand downward is to ward away. So

(16:15):
actually the way the position of thathorseshow might be more positive than negative.
But finish your story, okay, okay, good well still so anyway,
he said, I'm going to clearit and I'm going to give it another
home. And I'm like, whatdoes that mean. He's like, this
entity died two thousand years ago upthe road and there's no boundaries, and

(16:36):
it likes the space just like youlike the space, and it gets mad
when you're in the space. Andwhat attracts it to this space was that
artifact. Not only the artifact, the creepy one, but the other ones
that are in there. There's likea bunch of them you can't see on
the picture like you're in the glass, because they are from there. Something

(16:56):
that they resonated with that brought theminto the space. So it wasn't like
it was haunting the space because ofthe it was attached to the item,
but it was it resonated with, with drawn to it, drawn to it.
I I'm wondering if it's because thenature of that mosque is that it's
it is kind of creepy to lookat. And I wonder if people people's

(17:19):
emotional response to that, to seeingthat, is what draws that energy towards
it. You know, I don'tknow. That's an interesting well. And
I actually would say that maybe youshould turn the horseshoe the other way,
steal that fucker. In what it'swords, It says that if you turn
it downward, it wards it awardsthings away. So maybe it's it's just

(17:42):
too easy for it to attach toit. You know, you might want
to protect that place a little better. Yeah, well, actually it's good
now he's he's kind of reset it. He's kind of he's blocked it somehow.
I haven't come out there a lot, so just to make sure,
like, is it okay, doesit come back? You know, it's
fine. He's like, I putit in a place that's much better because
it has more energy to feed offof. And I'm like, God,

(18:03):
those poor souls. I'm so sorry, but I want to know. Oh
I next door, that's crazy.Yeah, I don't know, it just
yeah, it was. It was. It was interesting. I never had
lived in a house that was Iknow, Josh, you've lived in a
lot of houses that were haunted, had weird activity, necessarily. I had

(18:26):
some weird things growing up and Iwas kid, but I don't think I
lived in the house was haunted. But there was definitely something in there.
And when I had like literally sixpeople tell me that they felt it in
the same room, I'm like, okay, I gotta do something. Oh
wow, Well, I know it'sgone now, but when I visit,
I'm definitely gonna hang out in thatroom and see what's up. Yeah,

(18:48):
I want to go in that roomand just try some things out. No,
you don't bring it back. Whateveryou do, Oh, clean up
off to it. So I'm nota god, Oh my god, I
don't want to know, so mad. Yes, you know all of your

(19:10):
your activities. You just watch thenew documentary right about cruised objects. I
did, yes, So it isnot legitimate documentary in no way it was.
I mean it would be a reallydifficult bank if you wanted to.
But anyway, documentary this one.If you guys have seen we've talked about

(19:33):
Hellier, The New Cooks. Theseguys do some awesome stuff. They I
really love how the New Cooks theydeal with all these kind of creepy possessed
items in their museum and stuff, but they stay really positive about it.
They they invite these things to inhabitthe same space with them. But there's

(20:00):
you know, they's always like, you know, this is it's a shared
space. You know, it's it'sthey never sort of go into oh my
god, it's creepy, we haveto burn it to the ground. It's
it's always like, let's try andunderstand what's going on here. So yeah,
so I watched their latest film. After season two of Hellia, they've

(20:26):
released this film called The Unbinding andyou can find it on Amazon Prime.
I rented it for like three orfour bucks something like that. But it's
really good. It's a really greatlittle documentary, really beautifully shot, nicely
produced, just under two hours andit's it's really well made, and I

(20:48):
recommend people check it out. Ithink it came out like September October last
year. So we're a little maybeled to the game, but I finally
had a chance to sit down, taken in. I watched it a couple
of times. Actually, I tooksome notes and yeah, really fun stuff.
So this is all about and Ithink we've talked about this on the

(21:11):
show before, Josh, we sortof brought you you brought it up.
I think one time was with alittle statuette, a little a tiny little
wooden statue that they were sent.So chrome, that's the chrome. Yeah.
So the New Kirks have this whatdo you call it, like a

(21:32):
museum? I guess they call itof the weird sort of stuff where people
send them objects they think are haunted, and they always kind of maintained that
the haunted aspect is kind of asymbiotic relationship with the owner. So maybe
there is some sort of like ona consciousness level, subconscious level, I

(21:56):
don't know, that they have thisrelationship with the object and it's like a
traumatic or you know, some sortof you know, some sort of relationship
they have with this object that doessort of create some sort of paranormal activity
in the house. But sort ofGreg was saying in the documentary that once

(22:21):
it's sent to them, it sortof severs the connection with the original owners
and then there's, you know, nothing really happens. So you said,
nine out of ten times we'll getsomething and it's like, okay, it's
just a thing this time, thisobject that I was sent is this,

(22:41):
Well, let me get into theback So they go into the backstory basically.
So the backstory is there's two blokes, right, two American blokes up
in the East East Coast. Theygo hiking up in their Catskill Mountains.
I don't know what state that's in, what New York something like that,

(23:03):
New York. Yeah, Anyway, while they're hiking up there, they discover
this little cave up in the mountains, like high up in the mountains,
and they go into the cave andwhile they're there, they find this little
wooden statue and it's no there,no, and like Catskill Mountains are also

(23:26):
part of Hudson Valley, which we'vetalked about a lot on this podcast.
There's shows for Discovery Channel. HudsonValley has so much alien activity and weird
shit and caves and tons of stuff. Okay, keep going, very cool
area. Yeah, yeah. Sothese two guys, one of them is
like a hardcore I don't believe inanything, atheistic nothing. It's all flesh

(23:53):
and bone, nuts and balts everything. So he goes into the cave he
sees this little thing. He's like, oh man, this is a cool
little like artifact. I want tobring this home. And the other guy's
like, I think you should leaveit there. Don't fucking touch it,
leave it alone. So the firstguy is like, nah, fuck it,
I'm bringing it home. So theybring it home. Here's what this

(24:14):
thing looks. Looks like it's ait's a little wooden it's maybe i don't
know, like seven or eight inches, which is and girthy but it's it's
a it's a little wooden effigy Iguess of like a little human being.
And it's apart from like it's it'sobviously of of someone. It's like of

(24:44):
a a deity or something. It'sit's like a representation of something. And
it it has these nails in itseyeball and its eye sockets where its eye
sockets are, so it has theselittle nail and there's like six, so
it's three in each eye. Andthen on top of that, it also

(25:06):
had a little rope around its neck. Here here we go this. Yeah,
here's the video footage of it.Here. I would never take this
home, that's just like. Sothis is from named dreg Newkirk's Traveling Museum
of the Occult. So this isthe thing. So these guys saw this
in a cave and we're like, and one of the guys was like,

(25:27):
you know what, this is goingto be a little conversation starter on my
coffee table. Brings it back.I love that. So he brings it
back to his to his little apartmentand and obviously shit starts to go downhill
from there for this guy. Sothe guy who brings it back while will

(25:48):
his other friend is like, leaveit the fuck our own broad, like
just leave it there. All sortsof shenanigans start beginning to happen in his
house. So he has a dog, this guy and his dog is when
he brings us in as all ofa sudden, starting to like exhibit all
his terrified behaviors, like it startspeeing all over the house where he never

(26:14):
you know, used to do thatbefore, used to like take him out
soide and his fine like it wasterrified, used to hide under the furniture
and stuff. This guy begins todiscover that there's this smell about the house,
and it's like this stagnant pond waterkind of smell. You can kind
of imagine that smell. He said. He he has trouble sleeping during the

(26:38):
night when he comes back in becausethere's these banging on the walls during the
night, like just a boom boomin the middle of the night, and
he'll just like wake up and belike, what the fuck was that.
One night, he wakes up atthree am. Oh it's always three am.
There's always three am, And hewakes up because there's a banging and

(27:03):
knocking at this front door and hesaid. He goes down immediately like it
was like a you know, likea let me in kind of like emergency
kind of knock. He goes down, opens the door. No one's there,
obviously, but as he opens thedoor, he has this kind of

(27:25):
intrinsic intuition kind of feeling that Ijust fucked up. So he lets something
in. So he literally kind oflike invited something into the house. Now
shit gets real. Now he startsseeing seeing some like physical manifestations of what's

(27:47):
going on. He starts seeing thesewet footprints throughout the house, like what
like someone just got out of theshower or the hot tub or whatever and
they're walking through the house with histhat's classic horror movie stuff. Yeah,
pretty great, like that that womancrawling out of the well and like the

(28:07):
whole house gets wet. Yeah.So at this point the guy is like
terrified. He never believed in anyof this sort of stuff in his life,
and all this stuff's going on.He can't sleep. He gets at
the get out, gets at thehouse, takes his dog, goes to
his friend's house who he went upin the mountains with and says, hey,

(28:32):
brow, can I sleep on acouch? The guy says, yeah,
yeah, no worries come on in. So they kind of discuss it.
These two guys discuss what they wantto do, and so the next
day they say, okay, we'regonna go back into the house. Well,
they sort of realize that it's happenedwhen they brought this thing, because
it immediately happened when they brought thisthing into the house, and so they

(28:56):
decide to take the thing, wrapit up, and take it back to
the cave where they found it.So they go back to the house the
next day and as they're searching aroundthe house, they can't find it,
Like he just left it on hiscoffee table in the middle of the room
and they can't find it. It'sgone. And so this was part of

(29:17):
the part of the deal as well. So the original guy who brought it
back would say he would leave ina room and wake up in the morning
and it'd be gone. And thenyou find it somewhere else and it'd be,
you know, in a different partof the house. And one of
the things that happened is that hewas in his office or whatever in his
room and heard this thud and wouldrun into the room and it's like someone

(29:41):
threw this thing in the wall. You could see where it hit the wall,
and a lander on the ground. No one else in his house but
him and his dog. So theyfinally found this thing in the house and
it was like on the floor insome random room and they're discussing, we
need to take this back to thecave. Well they're discussing this, they

(30:06):
suddenly see a figure of an oldlady naked and dripping wet. Not like
that, yeah, fucking dirty bastards, damn. Just like just like she
was just like in a in arainstorm or just like in a shower,
like the shining like the old womanof the bathtub. Oh yeah, very
much like that. And this iswhere this this Greg and Dan and Newkirk

(30:29):
sort of deemed this thing. Theygave it the title the Krone makes sense
now, Okay. Yeah, Sothey see this thing in the corner of
the room and she's just kind ofstanding there and they can see that she's
dripping wet all out of the floor, and they basically, uh, get

(30:53):
the fuck out of the house. But they have this feeling where they see
this lady of we shouldn't go backto the cave. We can't go back
there. It's dangerous. We can'tgo back there. Anyway, Long story
short, these two blokes find theNew Kirks and their museum about the haunted

(31:15):
objects that they have, and theyimmediately contact him tell them their story.
And it was like a I thinkit was a raddit story to begin with.
How it's sort of like people startedsaying like, oh, you're going
to contact the New Kirks. Sothey find the New Kirk and just say,
please take this, We're done withit. I need to get some

(31:37):
sleep. So they center off theNew Kirks. Anyway, the New Kirks,
as they do with all this sortof stuff, happily take it.
They say, yeah, we'll grabhold of it. You know. They
get set this stuff weekly apparently, and they said like like they said,
nine times out of ten, it'sjust like nonsense. We're just like it's
like a creepy clown dole and itlooks but you know, it doesn't throw

(32:01):
our one on one audience just topull you up there. A lot of
times that's because the object itself isnot haunted. It's because whatever is attached
to these people acts like it's attachedto an object but it's actually not.
But the ones when they explain issometimes it can be attached to an object,
and this seems to be one ofthose cases. Right, So the
new kirkstuck this into the house. They put it on the shelf in their

(32:23):
in their office where they have abunch of other stuff in their little museum
of crazy shit. But weird thingsbegin to happen to the new Kirks now,
and these these guys are like alwaysstaying super positive with the stuff.
Like I said, they don't buyinto like it's, oh, it's creepy,
it's demons trying to get us.It's always like it's a communication and

(32:46):
the only fear is the unknown. We don't sort of know about it day.
A new Kirk is like a practicingwitch, so she's into all this
stuff. But when this thing comesinto the house, things change. So
they say they kind of leave itthe shelf with a bunch of other objects

(33:08):
and just kind of don't think aboutit. But not long after, I
think the first thing that's sort ofone of the first things that happens is
Gregg's alone in the house with hiscats. He's just watching TV and he
hears a bang from the other room, and he runs on into the room
and notices, like the office wherethis thing is is shut, so the

(33:32):
cats aren't in there. So hethought, like the cats were just knocking
shit off shelves like they do.He goes into the office, opens the
door, goes into the office, and on the ground is a They had
a crucifix on the wall that waslike, you know, a wooden crucifix,
but it had like a sort ofa porcelain effigy of Jesus on the

(33:55):
cross. And when he goes intothe room, all it's hanging is one
of Jesus's arms still nailed into thecross, but the rest of the figure
is on the ground. Oh creepy. Yeah. So it's like it has
this like anti sort of religious positivitykind of you know, it has a

(34:17):
very anti Christian sort of feel bentabout it all of a sudden. And
he said that the cross was hangingon the wall in such a way that
it was just it was hanging ona singular nail. So if you or
I were to go in and tryand rip Jesus off the crucifix, it
would bring the whole thing to theground. He said. Somehow it was

(34:37):
like something held the cross to thewall and just pulled the Jesus figure off
the cross, and it was aweird thing. And then when he looked,
there's a a chair sitting underneath thecrucifix on the wall. This little
wooden statue is just sitting on thechair beneath it. How it moved there?

(35:01):
And it gets super creepy after that. So so they they said,
and the movie is just done andre enactments. There's it done through interview?
Do they do kind of mix both? Tell me the style, so
they do both, So do both. So there's summary enactments. And they
because they're the new Kirks and theydeal with this shit all the time.
They actually they document everything, sothey have photos of everything that's happened throughout

(35:25):
the house. They have. Sothe next thing that happened is super interesting
they have They set up a trailcam and point it directly at the shelf
the stand will objects are, includingthis little statue, And they come come
in one morning and notice that it'sregistered movement in front of the cameras in

(35:51):
this little room. And so theygo and look at the shots and there's
this little like glowing orb thing thathas triggered the can in this time,
and it was saying, like, you know, usually we don't bind orbs.
It's usually just some you know, bug or some dust particle that's sort
of reacting with a camera light andall that sort of stuff. Right,

(36:12):
we don't really usually bind orbs inrooms and stuff. But they were saying,
you can see there's a bunch oflike photos and stuff with glass panes
in front of them on the wall. As this thing moves past it,
you can see the reflection in thewindow pane and so it's giving off light.

(36:34):
Hmmm. So it's really interesting littlechange. The super creepy thing is
that they were they were trying totrack whether this thing was a bug or
not. So they lined up allthe frames that were taken during that time
because it's not just like a singlevideo. It just takes frames the trial
camps. And they were saying, like, you can go back and forth

(36:57):
in between frames and you'll see it'sthis is the descent like shifts up my
spine. You'll see this statue sittingon the table and as they go from
frame to frame, you'll see itmove slightly just by itself. No one's
in there, No one comes inand like changes it. It just shifts

(37:20):
just ever so slightly as this thingsort of comes into the room. It's
super creepy, like you can't like, I don't know, maybe maybe they
could have faked it somehow, butyou can see like nothing else moved in
the room in the in this andyou'll see the timeframe and stuff, and
it just shifts in these couple offrames and it's really weird. It's pretty

(37:43):
cool. I'd like to investigate that, because I don't think they would.
I don't think they would take something. Honestly, now, I don't think
they're fakers at all. They're reallygreat investigators. And like you said,
they have so much creepy stuff intheir place. They're used to dealing with
the darkness. It's like, okay, whatever, a little creepy, creepy
who cares. Like That's how theyare, which I love. And so

(38:04):
if something really is intriguing to them, that means that it is serially they
can't explain it. They actually, yeah, this one really creeped them out.
And it came to a point whereyou know, Dana is like a
practicing witch and so she sort ofconverses with the spirits and all sorts of
stuff all the time. She's usedto this kind of field. But Greg

(38:29):
was explaining one night he woke upin the middle of the night because Dana
was shaking him, and he said, I've never seen her as terrified,
Like she was absolutely fucking terrified. And she said she had seen in the
corner of their room an old woman, dripping wet and just kind of standing

(38:52):
there like the guys had already seen. Yeah, and he said, I've
never seen it scared before. Andshe's, you know, she's usually the
calm headed, like we have spiritsare there, we converse with them,
and yeah, I have so manyquestions, So, like, is the
woman the one that is supposed tois like trapped in this cursed doll?

(39:15):
Like is she the one that waslike hung and stabbed? I get that
all that, like, because Iget that, like a curse can bind
somebody to something or somewhere forever.Yeah. So so they they basically take

(39:36):
it from here, like it's escalatedto the point where they're like, Okay,
we need to we need to weneed to do something, we need
to sort of intervene here. Sothey basically sit the statue down in the
middle of the room and they startconversing with it. They start trying to
communicate with it, Hey, whatdo you want? Who are you we
And they sort of explain like,we'd like to help if you need help,

(40:00):
but you know, this is ashared space we have for you know,
all these other objects. You know, if there's something here and it's
a harmonious existence, we just wantto exist in the same space. As
they're conversing with this thing, theyhear this sudden like rush of water in

(40:21):
one part of the house and they'relike, holy fuck. And they said,
like a couple of years before theyhad like a burst pipe and it
sounded exactly like that. So they'relike, oh my god. And so
they run to the other side ofthe house and they don't find anything.
There's nothing. They just hear thiswater all of a sudden and then it's
gone. And then while they're they'reinvestigating, they hear a bang from the
other room, a couple of thumps, thump, thump. So they go

(40:45):
running back into the room where theywere. The statue's gone. They can't
see the statue, they don't knowwhere it is, so they look it
all around the room. Greg Nwkirkfinally finds it underneath the TV stand and
so he's like, huh, howdid it fucking get there? Like no
one else is in the house. So he gets down on all fours and

(41:08):
starts reaching for it under the TVstand. As he's doing that, the
TV starts to tip over and startslike beginning to fall on him. Dana
sees it and as able to catchit before it like hurts him or whatever.
And you know, it probably wouldn'thave killed him whenever, but it
was like aggressive. You know,We're starting to get like some serious shit

(41:30):
going on here, haunting though, like it finally finds its home where it's
other people are at we're accepting ownersand parents, and it's trying to kill
him. Like this thing is fuckingpure evil. Man, This is like
something out of a movie, Likewhat the fuckat this thing starts to go
like fucking crazy. And then sofrom there on there's a bunch of run
over stuff and the stuff like theysee like wet footprints on the couch troller

(41:55):
sudden they come in. Dana comesin. There's like wet footprints is if
someone's been standing on the couch afterthey've gotten out of the shower and it's
just like what the fuck, Like, where does this come from? There's
nothing dripping from the ceiling, andit's in the shape of footprints. It's
crazy, very common. Yeah,so there's uh. They so they go

(42:20):
through like some a bunch of differentincidents that happened with this thing. So
they obviously go on the road withthis traveling museum that they have and there's
like a big paranormal conference that theyall they go to every year. I
just love it all that. They'relike, we're keeping it. We're definitely
keeping this. Yeah, this iskind of they deal with to it.
Did they ask it what it waslike? That's why I'm interested in,

(42:43):
Like, like, who are youold wet woman in my house? Yeah?
She's fuck just drip in this bitchanyway, So she's They they obviously
realize that something is going on withthis this object, right, and so
they sort of keep it away becausethey said that if they keep it out,
the more this stuff keeps happening. So what they do is they wrap

(43:06):
it up and put it in abox, lock it in a box,
and they have all this interaction withit where they say, like, if
you keep fucking misbehaving. We're gonnaput you back in that box. Anyway.
They end up putting in a box, but they take it on the
road when they do this like travelingmuseum, and they take it to this
paranormal conference and he said, whenthey're at this conference, this guy keeps

(43:28):
coming up, who's heard about it? Excuse me, he's heard about the
whole like you know, they've beendoing live streams and podcasts and stuff about
the statue before. And he's like, I want to see it. I
really want to see it. Andthey're like, no, we don't want
to take it out. It's justgonna it's in this box. But we
don't know, we don't want totake it out, and they said this

(43:50):
guy was like insistent, and theywere like at the end of the day,
they were like, all right,we'll at least show it to you.
So they take it out of thebox at this conference in the middle
of this and as they take itout, the greg says, the atmosphere
in this whole place changes. It'slike a pup and he's like, it's

(44:12):
like, oh shit, what haveI done? And he said after they
did this, all fucking hell breaksleastsand they kept it in this place for
a while before this, he said, the chandeliers on the top of the
roof in this hole you could seewhere they started. It was like you
just went shut down this hallway andit started shaking the chandeliers. And they

(44:35):
said there was a woman at thetable, one of the tables just down
front this. It was like,if you've been at this conferences before,
you'll see like all the different presentersand stuff, and they have their videos
and their books and they're selling alltheir weares and stuff. So as they're
when they released this thing, apparentlythis woman's like drink that she had like
a big you know, a biggulp, big gulps. Huh, so

(44:58):
you'll let her. So I hadthis big sitting on the table and it
just it just fucking popped open andjust shot all this all the whatever soft
drinks she had and just covered allof the books he was selling and like
ruined all his books. But theysaid, the weird thing is when it
got to the greg started like goingthrough the hall like watching and you could

(45:20):
see like everyone noticed, like somethingin the room changed. And at the
end of the hall, he saidhe'd looked at this guy who was sitting
in a seat and his head wasback and he was like convulsing. He
was having this like seizure and theblood started coming out of his mouth,
isn't Yeah, So like he startedhaving this like crazy seizure, coughing up

(45:42):
blood and stuff. And they obviouslylike attributed to like releasing this thing.
There's more stuff, like they oh, man, there's so much stuff in
this. I don't know how muchto sort of reveal or whatever. Definitely
go see it. There's there's apart where they get like a three D
scan a guy, a friend oftheirs, who like they three D scan

(46:06):
all the different objects they have tokind of keep like a digital version of
all the different all the different objectsthey have in the museum and so,
and they live stream this as theyscan them, and they like talk about
how it works, and they dolike a three D print plastic version of
whatever it is. And as they'redoing this, they decide we're gonna have

(46:30):
Dana the Witch. Dana and Newkirksit there and do the Estes method as
they're scanning this statue. And thisis like, this is some of the
craziest shit in the In the documentary, Greg's saying, like before before this
stuff, he was like, Iguess we should explain what the Estas method

(46:54):
is. I think we have before. But it's basically, you just blind
fold yourself. You put on earphones, so all you can hear is the
I think it's called a spirit box. I am I wrong with that?
Josh, you've seen this stuff box? Yeah, So it just like it
shuffles between channels and radio frequencies andbasically you you hear different voices come through.

(47:21):
Voices and words and all sorts ofstuff come through. So she can't
see anything, she can't hear anything, but the voice is coming through this
spirit box basically. And as they'rescanning this thing, oh man, there's
like they have they basically start aconversation through Dana, who's sitting in the

(47:45):
room. She doesn't know what's goingon as they start scanning this thing,
but they're asking the statue questions asshe is doing the method st As method,
and it's basically they're having this conversationback and forth and it's fucking crazy,
like there's a uh, sorry onesecond, give me give me a

(48:12):
pause here. No, that's okay. They use the acid method on a
lot of basically every one of theirhaunted objects, they bring it in,
they have a whole process, theylive stream it to their people, and
it's the main tool used by paramounresearchers around the world. It was originally
developed by a couple of different peoplewho are famous kind of in the paranormal
space. Now you can take backover when you feel like you're ready,

(48:34):
but one of them is name is. It was developed by these two guys
and it's used everywhere now. Thetwo guys are Carl Pfeiffer and Connor Randall.
I think Carl or one of themactually is used to do a hanted
paranormal show at the Shining Hotel insark That's why it's called the method.
Actually, these are the two filmmakerswho made this film, and they made

(48:57):
Helia as well, the same guys. Yeah. OK, So anyway,
they start having this conversation with whateverentity is kind of within the statue and
it just gets fucking wild from there. Like I was like, so many
times do this documentary, I wouldhave like this like cold fucking shivigo up

(49:19):
my spine, just like listening tothis stuff. At different points, Dana
was feeling like sharp pains in herbody as this thing was getting scanned and
it didn't want to be scanned.Like, as it was being scanned,
she would hear these voices saying no, stop, don't do that, all
that sort of stuff, and theywould be talking to it. And then

(49:44):
as she was sort of listening, she said, there's two distinct voices coming
through, and there's like a femalevoice and like some other, like creepy
voice. She said, it's likethis creepy voice that was trying to scare
her. And basically what they findthat there was a the spirit of a

(50:07):
woman. This is what this thingwas basically explaining that they give it away
or is this giving away too much? Uh? No, I think this
is fine. The spirit of awoman was being held inside the statue by
some other entity called that was referringto itself as biddom b I d d

(50:28):
u m biddim or some sort ofvariation of that spelling. And this this
woman entity spirit whatever you want tocall it, was asking for help.
This bitam sort of character was keepingher locked or bound to this object to
this do they release her? Sothat's where we go to the rest of

(50:52):
the documentary, is they decide Okay, we've said we're going to help this.
And what I really like is thatGreg Newkirk sort of mentions just point
of something that I was thinking throughoutthe whole thing, is like, how

(51:12):
do you know that this whatever entitythis is, if you are in contact
with it, is actually asking forhelp or is it just manipulating you?
Like we've talked about a bunch oftimes, you know, is it just
maybe it's being released and you knowit's asking to be released and it's not
a good idea, you know,or you know, there could be a

(51:34):
bunch of different stuff. Greg sortof talks about that for a second,
like, but you know, ifyou're walking down the street and you hear
someone screaming for help, you gohelp them. So this is kind of
what we did. So from thenon they kind of like there's this crazy
scene where they like they're talking toso Greg and the three D scanner are

(52:00):
talking directly to the statue and Danais in the room, but she obviously
can't hear or see anything, andshe's just reacting to what she hears in
the spirit box, and they havethis crazy conversation where they ask like where
did you come from? And itsays up high. Dana says up high,
and they're like, oh, inthe mountains. Yeah, and then

(52:22):
it starts to say save me help. It's him, and so it's like
asking for help. Oh, sothis is really crazy. Yeah, this
is a very We're like, allright, burnet fucking start again, let's
get out here. So there's thisreally crazy bit where a three D scanner.

(52:44):
So when he was scanning the object, then the nails and the rope
around its neck, the noose aroundits neck was too thin to pick up
on the scanner. And so whenhe has this this three D scan,
the three D image of this thingin the computer, they were like,

(53:05):
oh, we should we should sortof just put the noose around afterwards and
we'll kind of like create a threeD scan of this thing and you know,
three D print it. And soas he's trying to he gets like
an asset, I guess, athree D asset of a noose, and
is going to try and sort ofplace it exactly where this thing has the

(53:29):
noose around its neck in three Dspace. He has to sort of separate
the head from the body of thisthree D object right of this statue.
And he said, as he didthat the three D object on the computer
as like, a this is thecraziest fucking thing, is I. You

(53:50):
know, we've worked with the aftereffects and you know three D objects before
with what we do Josh particularly,he said, the object started forming.
It was like these human fingers startedcoming out of this three D object in

(54:10):
like on his computer on the imageand he zoomed into these there was it
was like legit human like if youlooked at these things, you would say
there were fingers. They had likeall the joints of the finger and you
could see like the ridges of afingernail, and it was like something was
trying to claw its way out.Once he released the head from the rest

(54:34):
of the body in three D spaceon this image, it was like it
started growing his fingers, like somethingwas trying to get out. Was it
was it a woman? Was ita woman? You couldn't tell. It
was just fingers. It was likeobviously fingers coming out of this thing,
like it was something trying to crawlout of it. And it was fucking

(54:54):
crazy, you know what. SoI just looked up the the origin of
Biddom, right, so it saysit has Mesopotamia roots might have been an
extension to a minor Mesopotamian god whoserved as a doorkeeper of the underworld.

(55:15):
And that's interesting. God is bidbut they're saying it could have been,
it could have originated from Bidu, and then it became more of a modern
name. Interesting could be. Sothey then they start sort of tracking down
all the stuff that they've learned, and they sort of learned that the little

(55:38):
town, I figured what the townwas called. It was in New York,
but it was underneath the mountain wherethe Catskills, where these two guys
hiked up to begin with. Andit has this big Slavic kind of Ukrainian
background to the people who sort ofsettled in this area. And so they

(56:00):
long story shot that's sort of likesort of connected this figure. They found
the similar figure to what they foundon the statue, this wooden carving to
a Slavic goddess called Mokosh Mkosh,And it was interesting. The name comes

(56:22):
from the root word meaning wet ormoisture and witchcraft, and it also connected
to another being who was an oldcrone of the swamp, which is super
crazy as well. It was exactlywhat they were saying, so basically they're

(56:45):
the New Kirks and their super friendssort of get together and basically the other
part of this documentary is them tryingto take it back to where it came
from and doing this ritual where they'retrying to unbind whatever entity spirit is sort
of connected to this thing because it'scausing so much havoc, they're trying to

(57:08):
like get rid of it. Sousually they take these things in and it's
like, hey, mischief and stuff, and sometimes it's just nothing, but
this one was like serious, sothey took it back and they do this
big ritual basically and to try andundo any of the negative energy that's following
people around. And it was alsothere's also a part which I didn't go

(57:30):
into, but you can see itwhere it's sort of it was following people
within a chat. When they weretalking about it live live streaming, someone
joked about actually it was a threeD scanner. Guy joked about it like,
Hey, I'm just gonna put thestatue when with my baby's crib.

(57:52):
But my wife was like super likenot happy with me putting in with a
crib. So he made some sortof joke about the baby crib and he
experienced like wet footprints leading up tohis baby's crib. How did you do
that? That's so creepy. Yeah, and then one of the aspects of
this god Us apparently was stealing babiesfrom their crib as well, which is

(58:13):
crazy, is wrong? Anyway, put your objects away, people start.
I won't go too much more intoit. I've spoiled a bunch of cool
stuff, but I want you togo see it. Check it out if
you want to or if you can. Very cool documentary, and it had
very positive kind of ending to it, like it was super creepy throughout,

(58:37):
but the New Kirks always try tofind a positive in the creepiness, like
I was saying to begin with. And the takeaway was that the frightening,
scary aspect of these things is tosort of initiate a change within us,
and it's a change we need togo through and sort of to open us
up into you know, higher vibrationor whatever that fucking is. That's a

(59:02):
real possibility, like open open up, like things are possible, you know.
Yeah, yeah, totally. What'sthe name of the movie before before
It's called The Unbinding and you're findon Amazon Prime. Yeah, the New
Kirks. I love the New Kirksand living the dream in one way,
not my dream. I'm not aparanormal guy. I'm an alien guy,
but I love it. They workedwith my brother a long time ago and

(59:25):
finding big Foot when they did aparanoral episode, and I definitely gott to
check that movie out. I knewthe backstory on the chrome, but I
didn't know any of that stuff.Recently, I became a member of the
Traveling Museum. I can't remember thewhole damn thing. A cult hunted artifacts
again years ago I was, soI just signed up again and they have
so many different artifacts. I highlyrecommend people going on their website if you're

(59:46):
really into this stuff, and thisso much cool stuff. The one thing
I want to say that kind ofwrap up with Matt was saying that I
just found interesting as I was researchingother objects, I wanted to go deep
on the dress of Betty Hill fromBetty and Barney Hill, but I didn't
have the time. I just wantto say this, so like years ago,
there was a prominent ecologist, Imean a cultist behind an and an

(01:00:09):
oncologist and a proctologist too named Gordonologist, A gynecologist who believed that the museum
that the New Kirks were creating wasquote unquote building itself. So yeah,
isn't that fascinating? So the NewKirks wonder, like all these artifacts that

(01:00:30):
are coming to them, what's thewhole purpose of this? Now they have
a very positive spin on it,which sounds good. So maybe it's building
itself to release itself, or isit building up to some powerful portal to
let things through to mess with humanity? And it seems like, yeah,
I don't know if I could sleepat their place in Ohio where they're from,

(01:00:51):
but I found that haunting. Thatfilm sounds amazing, Matt. I'm
definitely going to watch it. Yeah, definitely check it out. It was
It was great. I loved it. It was exactly the kind of stuff
that I'm into. Obviously, itwas dark, but it had a very
sort of positive ending. I thinkmaybe Josh had liked it. Yeah,
hug, Yeah, you like ahappy ending, right, Josh. Every

(01:01:15):
Tuesday at lunch is too much information? All right? So all right,
what have we learned today? Sowe learned that there are first of all,
do not steal old items from caves, an archaeology dig anything that you're

(01:01:35):
like, Wow, this is cool. I should just take it and bring
it home with me and see whathappens. You know, we learned that
that's probably not a good idea becausethese people have all had bad luck or
scary naked old ladies standing on theircouch, dripping wet, and not in
a sexual way. So this issomething we learned today. For all of
you out there that are interested inparanormal and the darkness of mat quts it,

(01:02:00):
be careful with what you pick upout there. Make sure it's not
a haunted item. Anyway, wewill be back with aliens. Do not
worry, but we just needed abreak to dive into some dark, creepy
