Okay, I caught it with Parker Kingston yesterday in regards
to everything now, I thought my mic was on, but
it wasn't. We're still gonna play the sound for you.
Hopefully you're still able to hear what me and PK discussed.
We weren't too far away from the camera, but we're
further enough. This is my interview yesterday with Parker Kingston
in regards the BA you play in Utah this Saturday
(02:23):
here with the BAUI receiver, Parker Kingston, Parker, just evaluate
what is your play?
Speaker 1 (02:27):
How you feel like through six weeks so far?
Speaker 3 (02:30):
Yeah, I feel like I'm finally starting to come on
as a receiver and show everyone that I can play
receiver and not just be a special play guy and
a special teams guy. It's been good. Those first two
weeks were a little bit, I mean disappointing, you could say,
I just didn't feel like myself. And to be able
to get gain that confidence back and at the ECU
in Colorado when they have these two past games has
(02:52):
been really good for me. And I just got to
keep stacking these games on call for each other.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
How does it help you as a receiver knowing you know,
people have been looking the statute chances to.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
A twenty five. But he draws a lot of attention.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
Yeah, it's been it's been nice. Uh, he draws a
lot of attention, which obviously opened up for me. And whenever,
however it goes, it's we work together, and I mean
it's been it's been fun living with him, learning from him,
and yeah, just being out on the field has.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Been playing awesome. Obviously, there's no secret. Just to RIVALI
this week, What does his game meaning when you played
it one before?
Speaker 3 (03:24):
Yeah, it's huge, obviously, it's in the state arrival. It's
bragging rights for fans, for us for but we're just
gonna keep it like another game, and we can't make
it bigger than it is, and we just gotta go
want to know this week, and it's just another another
game in the.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
Way of where we want to go. It is a
nice a as l yes now and you don't have
to go up the right ecles.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Yeah, definitely, it's nice that it's gonna be here. Heard
there's already people camping outside the stadium and it's already.
I mean it's Tuesday, so it's gonna be it's gonna
be a little lit atmosphere for sure.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
You guys have been killing it own special tunes.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
How much have you watched Keilanarians, you know kickoff returning
from last year, maybe.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
You might give the ins on this game.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
Yeah, we're gonna we do the same things. Their scheme
is the same. Ours is the same, and it's just
about making plays. K Pop does a really good job
and meetings explaining and hitting hitting hard special teams during practice.
So I think that's really big.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
Is just the game to get the to get the
punt return that you're waiting for.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
Yeah, I'm hoping. I mean I had a glimpse at
it last week. I let the punter tackle me, which
is unfortunate, But I mean I'm hoping this week we
can get one.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
The chase budget at all about the trailer at all.
You know, you gotta be bugging them a little.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Yeah, No, he didn't bug me. He can't really say
anything because I didn't get hocked. But no, Yeah, I
mean we ran the same time. He actually ran faster
than adult. But yeah, it's it's been.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
Funny how fast is Chase. People might not know, but
that you mentioned the topics. Yeah, I think he got
up to like twenty one miles power.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
Yeah, yeah, he hit like twenty one six on that
eighty five yard catch. And he's fast. He's sneaky fast.
He doesn't look like he's that fast because he's a
bigger guy, but he's moving and yeah, he's a good guy.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Talk about just bear right. You guys have been dialed
in the last two to three equally attribute that too.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
I would just say reps in practice and finally get
him no reps that I missed down in alf All camp.
Speaker 4 (05:12):
Bear is.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
I mean, he's phenomenal. He plays like a senior. He
he doesn't look like a freshman out there. He runs hard,
he's smart, and it's been really fun to just go.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Back a little bit.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Obviously, Arizona, take us from your vantage point being on
the sideline Evan Johnson's last pass breakup played.
Speaker 4 (05:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
No, Schmiv is a dog right now. I think he's
like one of the top cover corners in the country
and it's been awesome to see him grow because we
came in together and it's our fourth year together to
sort to see him progress and become the player he
is now.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
Is the really awesome for watch? What has made Austin
successful New York time being here?
Speaker 3 (05:45):
Yeah, I would just say the consistency and the players
that have been here. We've most of our skill players
have been here for three plus years, and just having
smart guys on offense, especially at the quarterback position, and
a smart guy he schemes up really well.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
And we have phenomenal coaches on the offensive staff.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
So I I think that's why it is.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Talk about the leadership that you stepped into the world
as you obviously chased as last year. You've been here
a long time, young guys like coach hag and obviously
bring out Richie Fishnet other players taking the cool and
just have you been able to mentor them and leave then?
Speaker 3 (06:18):
Yeah, I mean I remember coming in when I was
a freshman and having Pooka and Gunner and all of
those guys. So I try to beat the Pooka and
Gunner to them. Now, it's been fun. Obviously I'm not
a big vocal guy, so I've had to obviously learn
how to do that, and I just usually leave by
how I play. But when they come up to ask questions,
and I remember being in the same situation when you're
(06:39):
like especially during fall camp, but it's sh shots or
fire and they're stressing out, fancy yelling at them. They
don't know what's going on, and there I do what
I do, but you just you just calming down. And
I've been there before, And I mean, I don't know
if you will.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
Obviously, Keilan Marrin leaves late, people might panic. You guys,
don't panic. I said you will. Wide Receiver number two.
How do you feel like you've stepped into that role?
Obviously when the late exit happens.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
Like that, Yeah, obviously everything happens for a reason.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
I was happy.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
I mean, I was not happy that Keilon left. It
was sad to see him go, but it was an
opportunity for me to step into a bigger role and
it's been awesome to do. I felt like I could
finally play the receiver position and be out there at
all times, and that's going to fund here.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
So far, there we go.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
That's my interview with Parker Kingston. The rest of it
cut off, I think the last like minute and a half.
But from what we got that six and a half minutes,
that was phenomenal. What stands out to you? Bred there
are two things big in particular that stood up to me,
and an interview with Parker.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
I really admire people who are able to see things
from the perspective of others and think about, Okay, what
would this be like for them, Because it's easy when
you first get to BYU and near freshman and you're
trying to figure things out. It's so nice to have
those guys. And he gave the shout out to Gunner
(08:02):
and Pooka and the rest of those guys. It's so easy, though,
once you have finally reached the pinnacle you're the top
guy now to say cool, I'm the top dog, I'm
gonna do this and I'm gonna do that. But for
Parker it's I remember what it was like being brand
new here. I remember what it was like being the
(08:23):
freshman and told him Pole confused, not knowing what was
going on. To me, that's an indicator of success and
just an indicator of being a great human being is
the ability to remember when things were hard for you
and then once you reach the top, think about, Okay,
what might it be like for other people who were
(08:45):
in a position I was not too long ago. So
for him to say that meant a lot to me,
because that, to me, is a big indicator of success.
The other thing that stood out to me was, man,
I hope he gets the punt return against Utah.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
Oh Man.
Speaker 4 (09:01):
I thought he was gonna get it against ARIZONIAA and
he got tracked down. He didn't unhook the trailer. Apparently
the punter got.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
A hold of him.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
It is at him in midfield.
Speaker 4 (09:10):
I know, I know, just because he gave it the chase,
we gotta give it to him.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
That's kind of what I was in a different scenario.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
But I do believe he was ranked as like one
of the top five fastest players in college football this
last weekend, given it from that touchdown in the first
quarter shot at Parker. He's an incredible guy. He's an
incredible human. For him to think about others, I think
says a lot about his character.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
Yeah, I think we overlook and you bring up a
good point, the same two things you brought up.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
As he got what I was bringing up.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
We missed the fact that Parker was with Gunner, he
was with Pooka, you know he was that feels like
it feels like a forever ago. Don't know if he
was a Samsonakua, but like he was with those guys,
you know, he was with the maybe I think and
Neil Powell or a Bradon Cosper.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
I have to go back and look at the roster.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
But because he had those guys right around him when
he was a freshman, now he's able to mentor. And
he said it as fest he's yelling at him and
telling him what to do. And you got to go
through that as a young guy. You're not going to
know anything. That's a part of learning, right. And he's
a leader, and he says, I'm not really vocal, but
I've had to step into that role. I've had to
learn how to be more of a vocal leader. I
(10:16):
normally like to just let my game speak for yourself,
which is fine, but you also need both. So he's
had to emerges that you see that. I know people
can get a chance to hear the rest of the interview,
but I had asked him, Hey, an opportunity maybe to
be wide receiver number one, And what Parker told me was,
I got to keep doing what I'm doing to have
that opportunity next year to be trusted with that. Obviously,
every receiver wants an opportunity to be wide receiver number one,
(10:36):
but he says that is something that's earned, not given.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
So he says, got to keep it up. I think
he can get close.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
There was every all the talk of Carson Roan would
be the second leading receiver on this team. Nope, I
think it's still going to be Parker Kingston. As I
mentioned in that pKa is wide receiver number two. He's emerged,
especially with the when the Keilan Marrin leaves. He said it,
I'm not happy. I'm sad that it happened, but you know,
those things happen in the state of college football. But
that was a little you know, or to bo sports
(11:07):
with Parker Kingston. Always appreciate PK giving us a time
in all the student athletes. These guys don't have to
say yes, they can say no. So always humble and
appreciative when they give us a time. But that was
brought to you by a Primo Golf Apparel. It's fall now, guys.
Courses are open, but is indeed getting a little colder outside.
You gotta keep things rolling on the golf course, at home,
work on the road. With Premo Golf Apparel, you want

We'll go to break.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Let's get into the Austin Leousa sound. Ben Crittles interview
on the flip So offensive line has been performing. They're
gonna have to step a big especially against the Utah defense.
John Henry Daly is a dude. He's been balling out.

and what they see on tape from this Utah defense
right here on one O three nine and ninety eight
