There's a lot of bear's a.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
Not bear down, but bears up.
Speaker 5 (01:56):
Bears up. There's a lot to discuss. There's clarity, Griddle,
there's clarity. It always happens after the first scrimmage, and yeah,
this team's taking form. I think we saw a lot
of interesting things today during today's practice, a lot of
interesting interviews.
Speaker 4 (02:13):
I'm excited to talk about it.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
Love it, g man, love breaking it all down with you.
Let's also give it be kougarwar to Ronald the three Man.
What's up, Rodnie, what's up?
Speaker 6 (02:22):
I'm excited to break it all down. I'm going to
go against my will, as I said, I was declared
to have ben, but I'm gonna switch my tune. I'm
gonna lie after a pin on Sunday, we'll talk about it.
Speaker 7 (02:35):
I don't think you know what's coming, but I'm gonna
make a declarative statement, and it's not gonna be good.
Speaker 6 (02:39):
People are gonna get mad at me for making it.
Speaker 7 (02:42):
I ate the bullet last year, but I'm abided again
this year when it's my time to speak.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
Wow, a declarative statement coming off.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Do you think we were gonna hate you for it?
Speaker 6 (02:50):
Wow? Oh well maybe not people.
Speaker 7 (02:53):
I'm going people are gonna keep receipts if I'm wrong
bo offense because they keep on you're wrong, and they'll
get me if I'm wrong about it.
Speaker 5 (02:58):
But yeah, the other deal Heraldian Darnel Dixon the original
Daily Heraldi and makes fun of me all the time
for being mister declarative statement.
Speaker 4 (03:07):
He's made fun of me for years for that.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
Really, which declared statement has he brought up?
Speaker 6 (03:12):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (03:13):
So take your pick? Like I mean this, this predates you, guys.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
Which one, which one? You've never been.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
Wrong except when I have, very rarely.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
We don't remember it, like I don't recall g Man
every being wrong except for on occasion his player comps,
which are trash sometimes.
Speaker 4 (03:34):
Yeah, sometimes are really good. I think I've improved in that.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
You've you've really you've watched a lot more tape recently.
Speaker 5 (03:43):
Anyway, Can I just talk about what's going on all

(05:20):
college football and Big twelve football conversations, Jay Drew of
the Deseret News for thirty, John Beck a little keeping
up with the Cougars at five oh five, and then
Ronald the three Man's in a three man Weavers interview
with Evan Johnson, BYU defensive back locking down that CB
one position, looking good, feeling good in the on the
back end of this BYU defense that should be is
(05:43):
expected to be a top twenty five defense.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
Once again, is it overly declarative?
Speaker 3 (05:49):
Is it too aggressive to say that this team, this
defensive team will be top twenty five in college football
this season?
Speaker 9 (05:56):
No?
Speaker 4 (05:56):
I believe that.
Speaker 5 (05:57):
I absolutely believe that you look at the framework that
they have and the players returning. One thing I've become
really really convinced of that I was very much I
thought it was in question.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
Was I think that defense in inter year is going
to be stout? And if you.
Speaker 5 (06:14):
Listen to Jay Hill and Klawney were giddy after that
Saturday scrimmage. They were excited and what did Jay Hill
mention Ober and Ober and over again. He liked the
physicality against the run. That's the one aspect of the defense. Yeah,
b when he was fine against the run, that hadn't
that truly dominant middle that just swallows up rushing attacks.
Speaker 4 (06:36):
I didn't. That's kind of the final piece for this
Bayu defense.
Speaker 5 (06:40):
And the pass rush obviously we've talked about that as
at nauseum, but stopping that run and Jay Hill he
must have repeated it five times. He really really liked
the physicality he's seeing up front and count a ton
of boss is everything that's advertised.
Speaker 4 (06:57):
There's no question about that. John Tumbill Paal, He's made
really good strides.
Speaker 5 (07:01):
From what I understand, they really like Percell and they
like the versatility that Billy Amepua was showing. Sure playing interior,
But but I think the guy that're really excited about
his body, Scoonover. I think he's made some really really
good strides. Hold that thought real quick where he can
play some interior, and I think Justin Kirkland's pretty close.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
I like a g man, let's get into uh, what
do you say we get into the nitty gritty here?
Speaker 4 (07:25):
What do you say, yeah, let's go.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
All right, let's delve into some of the gems that
we were able to acquire today and in days prior
from Campcolloney, g.
Speaker 5 (08:42):
Man Bear Bachmeyer is the story. Bear Bachmeyer. I mean,
let me give you the context. We're in our third
week of fall practices. After this week, it's done, it's
game prep. Fall camp is over. Yeah, right, Bear Backmeyer.
Scene reps with the first team offense coming off the
first scrimmage.
Speaker 4 (09:00):
That's telling.
Speaker 5 (09:02):
At the very least, it tells you that there's a
good chance he might be b way you starting quarterback.
Speaker 4 (09:09):
The competition's over.
Speaker 5 (09:10):
If he acquits himself with that first team offense this week,
it's gonna be hard to argue that he should not
be the guy that's afforded initial reps at the start
of the season. They're giving him the opportunity. He saw
the first team reps. He looked good. He completed two
really really nice passes that passed to Carson Ryan. That
was one of the best passes we've seen. He was
(09:31):
in tight coverage through it exactly where.
Speaker 4 (09:34):
He needed to.
Speaker 5 (09:34):
And man, Carson Ryan, by the way, I think he's
my offensive MVP of fol camp. He's looked really good.
I think he's gonna be a revelation for this offense.
And I talked to Kevin Gilbright today and I kind
of mentioned the tight end can be a new quarterbacks
best friend. He goes, oh yeah, yeah, you need that
security blanket and that can be a tight end every time.
(09:54):
But Bear Bagmeyer, I think I misjudge a couple of things.
Is I really thought that give them the context and
overall talent that McKay, Hillston, Tracon Bourget had, that they'd
be able to separate themselves.
Speaker 4 (10:09):
We have not seen that we have it, and everything
has to be qualified.
Speaker 5 (10:15):
If Paul camp okay, is it this in response to that,
that's always the case. But what I'm saying is Bear's
I probably didn't give him enough credit as far as
completing a spring practice session that was a bigger deal.
Even if it wasn't with b Wah's program.
Speaker 4 (10:33):
He was able to do that. What you see from true.
Speaker 5 (10:36):
Freshman quarterbacks a lot of the time they drop back,
they are overwhelmed. They can't do anything, is they can't
see anything.
Speaker 4 (10:42):
The speed is just so.
Speaker 5 (10:44):
Elevated from what they saw in high school that it
takes time. We haven't seen that from Bear. We kind
of saw it the last open practice session when there
was install And that's why I thought McKay was gonna
be posed to run away with this thing.
Speaker 4 (10:58):
But coming out of the Saturday scrimmage, No, Bear's caught up.
Speaker 5 (11:02):
And what that tells you is, yeah, it may have
been overwhelming that first day, but he's adjusting, he's seeing things,
he's bright, he understands on the fly. But most important,
he has that overall talent and the ability to make
progress and to catch up, and that upside is higher
than both Mckayhillstad and Trace. The more gay it is,
(11:23):
you look at the recruiting accolades, and I think when
that starts to become realized with every single practice session, Yeah,
he looks like there's a real chance Bear Bachmer is
going to be your starting quarterback Wenbay. He opens the
season against Portland State.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
Pros and cons of starting a true freshman in twenty
twenty five for BYU with a powerful schedule.
Speaker 5 (11:47):
Well, the pros are that you're going to be your
best team at the end of the year, most likely,
because I've always argued that Bear's probably not going to have.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
The ability to be that guy out of all practice.
Speaker 5 (11:58):
I looks Piers that I was wrong in that regard,
but I absolutely believe that by the end of the
season he could very well be that guy. So what
you're saying is this gonna be accelerated. He's gonna endure
that initial blow. And the way he's favorable, the schedule's
favorable for that Portland State, Stanford, East Carolina. These are
defenses where bear Backmeyer can kind of ease into the water,
(12:22):
get comfortable, and get going in that regard. So that's
very much a pro also cons. It's hard for me
to see the cons, it really is at this point
because I haven't seen enough from both mcay Hillstead and
Trayson Borgat. I really thought one of these guys would
(12:43):
emerge and it was like, Okay, yeah, you guys get
all the other reps. But the fact that we're seeing
bear Bachmeyer with first team reps out of the first.
Speaker 4 (12:52):
Scrimmage is telling. That's a big, big thing.
Speaker 5 (12:56):
Emerson Gowlman's even getting reps, which kind of blows me away.
Speaker 4 (12:59):
To be on us with you, it's what's going on there.
Speaker 5 (13:03):
But yeah, that's the story, is that McKay Hillstead and
Tracey morgay just haven't done enough to separate themselves. And
that surprised me, it really has. I thought one of
those guys would clearly show better than the true freshman quarterback,
and the fact that that doesn't happen. It's not speaking
so much ill of them, but it's speaking really well
a bear Bachmire. That's that's the line you've got to
(13:26):
take heading into the season. And you look at his
recruiting athuades. This guy was recruited by everybody. He has talent.
He's a very very talented individual, and talent surfaces, especially
when that talent is coupled with a very active mind
that can process information and put in work. These are
(13:46):
great kids. I mean they they understand progress, they understand
work ethic, they understand concepts, and I think you're seeing
that that come to the surface.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
Roddie, what do he got?
Speaker 7 (14:00):
Well, I wasn't gonna do it, I said, I was
gonna wait, but I'll just turn the tides now and
I'll have the heat come to me, not the ben
so Jordan. I know Jordan, our social media guys listening.
I don't think it's possibly gonna happen. I think it
is gonna happen. I think August thirty first, Ronald the
three movie, this is my own words, is not Brandon
(14:21):
Gurney's not Big Criddle. Bear Bachmeyer is going to be
your starting quarterback against Portland State. I'm going to say
book it as Chad Charles Brock will say guaranteed. And
if I get the heat, I'll take the eat. I
said it last year. It was Gary, I was gonna
run away.
Speaker 6 (14:35):
From that bed.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
Remember, both of you guys did that. I did I
did that. I did that. You're right, You're right.
Speaker 6 (14:39):
I did it.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
I did it. I said it.
Speaker 6 (14:42):
You're right. I still on the hill and I died
on it as a man.
Speaker 7 (14:45):
And I'll you guys sure, I am going to stay sure?
Speaker 2 (14:50):
Sure?
Speaker 1 (14:51):
Are you sure? Ronald? Because you guys did this and
I said.
Speaker 3 (14:53):
Wolla, whoa, whoa, whoa wah did say whoa wall guys,
hold your horses.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
I said, calm down.
Speaker 4 (14:59):
Here's the point.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
Some room for competition, here's the point.
Speaker 5 (15:02):
What are they gonna learn about McKay hill Stead in
this week? They kind of know what that guy is already.
He's been in the program for more than a year.
He's had practice sessions. They understand what he is. They
understand what he can do when he's paired with that
first team offense. They don't know bear, They they don't
know so much.
Speaker 4 (15:20):
What's gonna happen.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
They didn't know Gary, they knew what Jake could do.
Speaker 6 (15:26):
I think they knew Gary had.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
I think Gerry just came in as a new guy.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
He's a new guy who face experience.
Speaker 3 (15:33):
I mean, like Gary, I mean Gary and and Bear
kind of have a similar skill set, big strong.
Speaker 4 (15:39):
But Gary had Donna Bear. Hasn't that that that That's.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
What I'm saying is you guys went all in on
Gary and you know, and and then turned against Here's
the qual factors.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
The one time g Man.
Speaker 4 (15:49):
Was wrong, here's the qualifying factor and the.
Speaker 7 (15:51):
One time Ronald was I'm more wrong than GM when
it comes to football stuff, but that was.
Speaker 4 (15:57):
Rest LOFs just better than both. Tracey Board Game.
Speaker 6 (16:00):
One hundred percent. You're your point of light years ahead
has proven this.
Speaker 7 (16:03):
Like the most impressive throw was to Carson Ryan and
I'm going to say this is not hy probably NFL esque,
threading the needle twenty to twenty five yards down the
field in tight coverage and I'm like, You've got to
be kidding me, Like, idn't expect that to happen. He
made another pass to Joe Joe and I'm like and
I'm like, yeah, it's over. It's gonna be a like
I saw that. That tells me everything I need to
(16:25):
know right there.
Speaker 5 (16:25):
But if Bearer completes practice sessions like he did today week,
he's gonna.
Speaker 7 (16:30):
Be But I think he's gonna continue to have the
week like that. And yeah, McKay and Tracon doesn't look
like they've done enough. And I said this last week,
if they didn't do enough to separate themselves, I can
see it swinging us away from what I've what I
saw today, it's gonna be forty seven bear down, we're upright.
Speaker 3 (16:52):
Well, let's see what Kalani had to say after watching
the tape watching the film singing practice again. This was
he's a post practice sound from earlier today.
Speaker 10 (17:02):
How did they look?
Speaker 9 (17:04):
Yeah, it was good.
Speaker 11 (17:05):
I mean, got some good live work and happy with
what I'm seeing from the team. And you know, I
don't talk. Last time I talked to you guys is
before the we saw the film. So what the film
was good is probably tell the guys is never as
good as you think and never as bad as you
think too.
Speaker 9 (17:21):
So there was there's some.
Speaker 11 (17:22):
Really good things there and the good the good part
is that I like the physical part of the game
and how our guys were able to tackle and block
just a fundamental part of football. So but we can
build on that and then yesterday and today are really
good practices for us. Yeah, we have a lot of
work to go. I mean, it's just not I'm not
gonna make any statements how good we can be. We
(17:43):
just show it on the field and let people find
out for themselves.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
Right now, he was the only guy we set up
with the first team.
Speaker 11 (17:51):
Yeah, I think I think Aerd knows where he's going
with everything, and I think the key is, like we
settled it on the field, you know, but I don't
can Tarlotte.
Speaker 9 (18:00):
It's the players.
Speaker 11 (18:01):
If you want to win the spot, it's there for
the taking, and so, you know, I think we our
job is to put them in the position where they
can win the spot, and that's in every position, including quarterback.
And so I think it's we still have some more
time to to see who's going to be the best
fit for running our offense and who's going to be
the best fit for that, you know, for game one,
and then we'll go from there. But as soon as
(18:22):
we figure it out, we'll let you guys know. And
probably the sooner the better.
Speaker 5 (18:25):
From your experience, you know, covering or working with quarterback battles.
Speaker 10 (18:30):
How does he compare to you know, pass true freshmen
that have competed in the battles that you've experienced before.
Speaker 9 (18:35):
Yeah, really good. I mean I think they all have.
Speaker 11 (18:37):
Yet you have to be something special with your mindset
coming in out of high school right into the you know,
to college and then adapting to the offense and understanding
and studying it. And he's so he's got I mean,
all the quarterbacks are smart, the intelligent.
Speaker 9 (18:51):
He has a good feel for the game.
Speaker 11 (18:53):
And I think the more he's around the team, the
more he he and and McKay practice and play with
with the with the guys on the field there, the
more comfortable they get. And then the more they don't
look like a newcomer.
Speaker 10 (19:05):
Even with tough decisions to make you and the staff
seem to stay really really cool under pressure. Is that
a reflection of just surrounding yourself with people that you
work really well with and you have confidence in.
Speaker 11 (19:15):
Well, I think we just trust the system that we've
been in. I mean, I think if you look at
me year one and year two compared to now, I'm
much older, more gray hair, things like that, But it
comes with a little bit of experience of just knowing
how to handle camps and how to make adjustments. I
think we're in a really good feel right now, good
(19:35):
momentum as a staff, and it helps that you're able
to keep the whole staff together. So with all the
continuity going on, and then I think that the foundation
being kind of settled, I think we can focus on
other things like these guys competing and putting the right
guys on the field and having a problem. If you
have a problem where there's you know, eighteen guys that
deserve to play and you only have eleven spots at
(19:57):
a time, then we need to find ways to get
the other the there you know, the other seven on
the field too.
Speaker 9 (20:05):
No, not yet. If if there wasn't, he'd be practicing.
Speaker 11 (20:07):
So the day you guys walk up here and you
see him on the field, and that then the decision
was made. But he's out here doing as much as
he can and we're just kind of in limbo until
we hear from them.
Speaker 10 (20:17):
Quarterback where their positions? Do you want to get some clarity?
Speaker 11 (20:23):
I think we we have an idea of what we're
going with I think we can rotate a lot of
different guys different spots, and this quarterbacks the one that you.
Speaker 9 (20:32):
Have a hard time rotating through.
Speaker 11 (20:33):
You know, it's probably one that you don't want to
deal with it as far as touching the ball at
many times, the same thing like a center. So the
ones that touch the ball every play you probably want
to have as consistent as possible, and.
Speaker 9 (20:43):
That that's that's what we're looking forward to.
Speaker 11 (20:44):
I think getting as many guys as we can to
be able to start is going to be That's that's
the goal that we want to do, and then decide
on how we want to use UH eleven At different times.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
You say you had a lot of work to do,
but do you feel like your team's on track at
this point in camp?
Speaker 9 (21:00):
Just hard to say.
Speaker 11 (21:02):
You know, we were still still a couple of weeks
and some days away, so two and a half weeks
away from everything. I feel good about where we're headed
and the progress we've made in the last you know,
especially over the weekends and Saturday. And to have the
guys be able to be physical even today after over
one hundred plays on Saturday, that's a good sign.
Speaker 9 (21:21):
And the guys are all bought in right now.
Speaker 11 (21:23):
I need to get them away from football for a
little bit and we just go, you know, and just
to build some connection together and some camaraderie with each
other and then be back and be ready to roll.
Speaker 9 (21:33):
And we get back.
Speaker 12 (21:33):
Thursday, after Saturday.
Speaker 10 (21:35):
After Saturday, where are the biggest adjustments.
Speaker 11 (21:37):
That's like the worst angle for me, by the way, No, no,
like right back here would be good.
Speaker 10 (21:44):
After Saturday.
Speaker 12 (21:45):
What are the biggest adjustments that you want to see
this week or wanted to see today?
Speaker 11 (21:48):
Well, we saw them, I think Saturday. I think the
main issue was the pre pre snap issues. Like I
think a Rod mentioned that we were kind of we
weren't set and so we got a few illegal formations
and and so when you look at it, it was
it was two false starts. There was three illegal formations
that we need to fix. Guys not be on the
line and then uh or or guys are fidgeting and
(22:11):
not set, so illegal formation or illegal shift.
Speaker 9 (22:14):
And then we had two holdings. And so that's in
one hundred plays.
Speaker 11 (22:17):
It's not bad, but it's like and for a first scrimmage,
that's that's pretty good. Defensively, we had a few mistackles
parat more than what we would want, and but we
had two defensive penalties, one holding and the one p
I and so play man coverage, you've got to be
able to use your feet and not your hands and
we're still working on that. So overall though, the team
did a great job with everything that the entire weekend
(22:41):
on Saturday and then seeing the film, I was really
really impressive at all.
Speaker 12 (22:46):
You see his best when he's offering with the first
team to see shot.
Speaker 11 (22:51):
Yeah, I think does a great job at a calling
plays that they're suited to their strengths. But there's things
that we need to do that that are strength for
us and on the football team, Chase Roberts being one
of them, and Carson Ryan and others that are you
know LG.
Speaker 9 (23:04):
Martin.
Speaker 11 (23:05):
So it's a matter of how do we how do
we attack a defense and who are going to give
the ball to, who do we want to highlight in
certain areas and what the defense has given us. So
I think having a Rob be able to do that
with McKay and then do that with Bear is going
to be the key.
Speaker 9 (23:21):
And then what you want to do is get to the.
Speaker 11 (23:22):
Point where you're where you're building the game plan on
on your starter, and then you have a game plan
for the backup just in case, and even third string
if it goes there. So uh, in the the past,
since camp started, we've had to balance all that out
with three. It's really difficult to do. And that's why
we made the move to kind of head towards this
way and see how how further this competition goes. And
(23:43):
then we see how far this goes, and once we
know and have a good feel about it, and once
they've established himself and whoever wins the spot gets it,
then the way we go.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
Said, get away from football the other activity. Plain.
Speaker 9 (23:55):
Yeah, yeah, we're going to a team camp.
Speaker 11 (23:56):
We're gonna go hang out and and then do some
team bonding stuff.
Speaker 9 (23:59):
So it'd be good. We did that last year too.
Speaker 11 (24:02):
No, none in that there's a lazy river that we
would do that, But like you know, I think it's
just there's a lot of really cool things that you
can do that will build a team, you know, connect
them together and then.
Speaker 9 (24:14):
Make football all the football is part of it.
Speaker 11 (24:16):
Just everything's been about football now, so we can just
take a break from it and looked at it and
most of the fights happened around practices ten to thirteen,
So let's go let's go camping during that time. Yeah,
I think I think we want to start working on
our on our preparation for our first opponent at the
latest week and a half before the game.
Speaker 9 (24:38):
Best to do it maybe two weeks before the game.
Speaker 5 (24:40):
In terms of leadership, Isaiah Glaster and Jeff Philli robsta
minutes for you last year.
Speaker 10 (24:46):
What are you looking for them is in terms of
progression and.
Speaker 9 (24:49):
Leadership what they've done already. I mean them need the way.
Speaker 11 (24:53):
And when you're you're a guy that started a lot
of games here and people are giving you all these
these honors and accolades and things like that, they're they're
leading the way with the live work.
Speaker 9 (25:02):
So they're they're out there.
Speaker 11 (25:04):
Tackling and hitting and doing all the drills, playing all
the special teams. So it helps that your top players
are doing that. Chase Roberts does it. On the other side,
Carson Ryan does that too, So like there's a the
guys are all bought into the team first, and it
helps when you're your best players are doing that.
Speaker 10 (25:19):
In terms of potential, how good can Isaiah Glaster and
Jack lyb. Maybe in terms of the great mind backers
that play.
Speaker 9 (25:25):
Yeah, we'll find out. I mean, I'm not gonna put
any pressure on them.
Speaker 11 (25:28):
I think they I think they're ready to do what
they did last year, maybe build on it. And it
helps understanding the scheme a lot more that they're way
more in tune with what Jay wants from them, what
I expect from them, what their position coaches, you know,
justin Enna and Chad and those guys expect from them.
Speaker 9 (25:44):
And I think it's just a.
Speaker 11 (25:46):
Matter of just time we get there and let's get
to the games and then they make the statements themselves.
Speaker 9 (25:51):
Guys. Thank you so much. Appreciate it, guys, thank you.
Speaker 3 (25:56):
All Right, there you go. That's Kalate Shataki g Man.
Did you get the quote you're looking for?
Speaker 4 (26:00):
I got the quote I was expecting, not the quote
I was looking for.
Speaker 5 (26:04):
I'm doing a big feature on Isaiah Glasker and Jack
Kelly as part of our Bway Football preview section.
Speaker 4 (26:10):
Whatever. I just wanted to Yeah, they can be. They
can be. Kyle van nuy two point oh, that that's
the bar.
Speaker 9 (26:19):
I didn't get that.
Speaker 3 (26:21):
So whatever takeaway from the Kalani sound Bikes.
Speaker 4 (26:26):
Do you know what jumped out in me?
Speaker 5 (26:27):
And this this isdn't hit me during the interview, But
when I asked him about Isaiah Glasker and Jack Kelly,
they're kind of the guy setting the tone on defense,
they said, kind of like Chase Roberts's on off its Okay,
everyone knows Chases on the case.
Speaker 4 (26:40):
Everyone gets that.
Speaker 5 (26:42):
And Carson Ryan, Carson Ryan, boom go caveman.
Speaker 3 (26:47):
Really, I think that that's do you know that there's
more cavemen on this team than any other.
Speaker 4 (26:54):
There's a lot of there's eight, there's a lot of cavemen, and.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
They're all like contributing. They're all like in the too
deep I think.
Speaker 4 (27:01):
But how about that.
Speaker 5 (27:02):
He's mentioning Roberts, He's mentioning Carson Ryan is a leader,
a guy that's setting the tone.
Speaker 4 (27:08):
A leader. Wow, tight ends back, dude, titans back. How
many catches do we see every open session?
Speaker 9 (27:19):
Three?
Speaker 12 (27:19):
Four?
Speaker 5 (27:20):
He and it's natural, I mean he's there, he guys
are looking for him. Yeah, he's gonna have a big
year if Carson Ryan does not haul in at least
thirty receptions. And that seems kind of low even to
say that maybe forty. I'd be surprised about fifty. I
think he's gonna be a big part of this offense,
(27:41):
big part.
Speaker 6 (27:41):
Andrew Peterson has been declared.
Speaker 7 (27:42):
If he said that he's gonna be the second leading receiver,
I might, I'm I'm getting I'm on board now with
that from what I buy it. How he's been targeted
from what I've seen in the BA.
Speaker 3 (27:52):
So so give me a stat line this year in
totality include Bowl game? What's his receptions? Yards and receiving touchdowns.
Speaker 4 (28:02):
I'm gonna I'm gonna split it down the middle.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
Forty five, forty five receptions? How many yards?
Speaker 1 (28:10):
Six hundred, six hundred yards? How many touchdowns?
Speaker 6 (28:13):
How many tuddies?
Speaker 4 (28:14):
Now, let's go five solid.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
It's great. That's a great tight end season. Yeah, forty five,
six hundred and five. I like it.
Speaker 3 (28:24):
Any other comments guys from the Colodia takyo sound and
then nitty gritty aything else that stood out to you, Guys.
Speaker 7 (28:30):
I know you got the answer you expected. Just a
side note. I thought jasmine, but pink was funny. Yes,
but I win tried.
Speaker 1 (28:37):
To make Hey wait wait, how many no?
Speaker 5 (28:39):
No?
Speaker 6 (28:39):
No, but specifically, where's right?
Speaker 1 (28:42):
Give me more specific? Give me those.
Speaker 7 (28:44):
Now, I don't need no, no, no, specifically, where are you
talking about?
Speaker 6 (28:46):
I just thought that was funny.
Speaker 7 (28:47):
I want to be awesome job Jasmine, awesome reporting right there.
Speaker 1 (28:51):
Trying to get the answer, trying to get the scoop.
Speaker 4 (28:53):
No, that's great, try to get the d takes man.
Speaker 1 (28:56):
Now, I'll follow I'll follow it up with this.
Speaker 3 (28:59):
I gave g Man and Ronnie a hard time because
after two weeks of fall camp, we went down to
practice after I think the first scrimmage, and Gary Bohannon
was bawling out.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
He was the guy. It seemed you guys were all
in on him. I was like, well, not so fast
with us. We can pull up, we can pull up tape.
Do we do?
Speaker 9 (29:22):
You do?
Speaker 1 (29:23):
We need to pull tape.
Speaker 7 (29:24):
You gave us a pushback, but you did like GD
I think for the first week, but I think he
was Jake after that.
Speaker 4 (29:29):
I think, but you OTD for effect?
Speaker 1 (29:33):
Yeah what did I say? You say? I? I said,
Gary Bohannon, No.
Speaker 4 (29:37):
You're characterizing Ronnie And I was just like, oh, it's over.
Speaker 1 (29:41):
I was like that your g I was you were
GB three?
Speaker 6 (29:47):
I was, I get the nickname g B three. You didn't.
Speaker 1 (29:50):
And now We're in the same spot. This time you're
all in on bare Bach.
Speaker 4 (29:54):
This time, I'm not.
Speaker 5 (30:00):
At no percent give me a I'm making a pot raise,
so like I'm raising.
Speaker 1 (30:06):
The pot, so like you're like eighty five percent certain.
Speaker 6 (30:09):
All in, let's go for it.
Speaker 4 (30:11):
Seventy five, seventy five drop it.
Speaker 1 (30:13):
Wait a second, man, Nah, g man, I'm seventy five.
You were just very declaring him.
Speaker 4 (30:21):
I'm seventy five.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
No, you're eighty five.
Speaker 7 (30:23):
This is why you have to just throw it on me,
because you're asking.
Speaker 5 (30:27):
Me what I am and I'm telling you what I am,
and you're saying I'm not what I am. With what
I just said, I'm here stating I'm seventy five percent.
Speaker 4 (30:39):
That's what I am.
Speaker 6 (30:40):
Hey, hey, he's seventy five. I'll go one hundred.
Speaker 4 (30:43):
No, No, you're.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
Stop it.
Speaker 4 (30:48):
Then you're gonna run it back next year when next quar.
Speaker 6 (30:54):
Hey, let's focus on this year. Let's not worry about
next year.
Speaker 7 (30:57):
You know why you don't have to worry about next
year because when Bear is the guy and he goes
back next.
Speaker 1 (31:00):
There you go, well, well, listen to a rod.
Speaker 6 (31:04):
It comes to push back for bid.
Speaker 3 (31:06):
No, but I'm probably I'm probably higher than that. I'm
probably like eighty five percent that that it's it's Bear.
Speaker 1 (31:12):
Eighty eighty five.
Speaker 3 (31:13):
I think I think it would take a really like
a comeback Rocky Rocky like comeback Rocky for MCADA to
get there, to to get and to overtake it. Like
it's gonna take a Rocky light comeback for mcada. You know,
Mike Tyson's punch out little Mac, you know.
Speaker 1 (31:33):
Going up against you know.
Speaker 3 (31:35):
I mean, I'm not saying that that that Bear Bachmeer's
Mike Tyson, but he's he's not Soda Pop Pinske, you
can tell that much.
Speaker 6 (31:42):
He's more like Joe.
Speaker 3 (31:43):
He's not glass. He's more like Soda Pop Pinske. He's
maybe bald Bull, that's who. That's who he is. Bab
Bull kind of.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
Looks like like like bear back mark.
Speaker 3 (31:52):
He's not bald, but big buff strong making plays probably
like eighty five percent sorting that that that Bear is
gonna be guy now with some of the moves, some
of the things I've seen, some of the things I've heard,
And that's just the way it is.
Speaker 5 (32:08):
It's August twelfth, It's August twelfth, well, and he's seen
first two reps.
Speaker 3 (32:13):
Yeah, coming out of the scrimmage now and a Rod said,
we need to give him more reps with the ones.
Like I said, there's still an opening, there's still an aperture.
McKay could could could fight back. But pretty confident. I'm
like a eighty eighty five or so. I'm above you.
I'm even more confident than you.
Speaker 9 (32:31):
G Mane.
Speaker 4 (32:35):
Was a confident.
Speaker 1 (32:39):
Comment, and I was like fifty. I was like fifty
to fifty with the Jake rest.
Speaker 4 (32:45):
Coming and co host. Ever, is what I'm asking right, We'll.
Speaker 1 (32:48):
Go to play.
Speaker 9 (32:50):
Rotten like people like that's why people like you.
Speaker 1 (32:54):
You're good enough, smart enough.
Speaker 7 (32:56):
I won't say anything, but I won't say anything like
but I've heard multiple times I love Brandon c.
Speaker 6 (33:00):
Gurney.
Speaker 7 (33:01):
Well today someone has told me to my face, I
like Brandon as it calls better than you.
Speaker 5 (33:05):
Well, okay, cool, Well, I want to know who that
fan is and I want to thank hi from the buck.
Speaker 1 (33:09):
No, everyone loves g Man.
Speaker 6 (33:11):
Everyone loves you man. Everyone loves even that other fan
that you never mind. That's a story for a different day.

Speaker 6 (35:15):

Speaker 1 (35:17):
All right? Roight, g men, g men? Actually is not
nodding to.
Speaker 6 (35:21):
It, not at all.
Speaker 1 (35:24):
Okay, so he doesn't like it.
Speaker 4 (35:26):
There's two people grooving right now, there's one who is not.

Just you, g man, because your brethren over there, That's
what I said. I say, your brother and is grooving.
Speaker 3 (35:39):
Yeah, all right, so we're gonna get it. A question
to poll today, Uh and uh. I can't wait to
delve into all the knicks and Crandy's here. Question of
the day. What are the pros and cons of trotting
out a true freshman for the twenty twenty five season.
You look at the twenty twenty five schedule, Portland State
at home, Stanford at home. You get a bye week
to get some reps in and more chemistry with your team. Saturday,
(36:02):
September thirteenth, So East Carolina on the road is your
your first road game, Colorado on the road, after that,
West Virginia at home, and then you of A on
the road.
Speaker 1 (36:16):
You look at the first six.
Speaker 3 (36:17):
Games, and many BYU fans, pundits, analysts, media members, but
they're gonna say, b why you should be at least
five and one in that in that span, no excuses,
play like a champion. You should beat the Stanford Cardinal. Cardinal,
they're in disarray, they're they're they're you know, they fire
the coach.
Speaker 6 (36:35):
Think they just announced their starting quarterback too. I could
be wrong about that.
Speaker 3 (36:39):
Yeah, yeah, there's some there's uh, you know, maybe you
do want to verify that.
Speaker 6 (36:43):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (36:43):
I don't I don't have that.
Speaker 4 (36:45):
Yeah, So.
Speaker 3 (36:48):
If you're gonna start a true freshman quarterback, you don't
want to start them after the first six games because
you're going against Iowa State on the road. You do
get a buye we by the way November one, prior
to that Texas Tech game, but then you go on
the road again to Texas Tech. Right, you're at home
to TCU Cincinnati. Remember you're taking on Utah at home
(37:11):
October eighteenth, and then you have.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
Iowa State Texas Tech TCU.
Speaker 3 (37:15):
That four game shreds, even with a bye week in between,
is a gauntlin. All four of those teams are going
to be good to great teams in twenty twenty five.
They have depth, they have talent, they have great coaching,
and quite honestly, they got some robust resources. Texas Tech
has shown that they got a new donor in the town.
(37:36):
They got they have their t Boon pickings down there,
new money.
Speaker 5 (37:41):
When the schedule came out, I hated that September thirteenth
by week. I didn't want any part of that. I
didn't think it was going to be favorable. I really
like that.
Speaker 4 (37:49):
Bye week now if Bear's the guy, if any of
them are the.
Speaker 5 (37:52):
Guy, if any of them, because then they can recalibrate,
have that context between two very eatable teams, readjust and like, Okay,
now it's the real season.
Speaker 4 (38:04):
I mean it's a real preseason, you know.
Speaker 5 (38:07):
I like that because I think East Carolina going on
the road, the fact that's gonna be your first road
game with a new quarterback. Fans are overlooking that game.
I'm telling you that's not gonna be I mean the
way you should win. I'm not gonna say that. Yeah,
East Carolina's gonna be, but it's gonna be a far
tougher challenge all factors considered that. I think a lot
(38:27):
of fans are considering right now. And I like having
a bye going into that week with the framework of
two games before it. I think that works well with
what the Wave has right now.
Speaker 1 (38:39):
Yeah, it does.
Speaker 3 (38:40):
I think it votes well for Bear Bachmeyers, a freshman
if he does trot out so That's what I'm getting at.
The pro of trotting out a true freshman has to
do with the schedule and the strength of schedule this
year as opposed to maybe in years prior during independence,
where you're going through a gauntlet at the front end.
Speaker 1 (39:00):
We've discussed that.
Speaker 3 (39:01):
So if you're gonna play bear Bachmeyer, it's most beneficial
to get him out there in front of Portland State
at home and Stanford Cardinal at home. Remember bear Bachmeyer
was competing for the QB one job in spring ball
at Stanford versus the same personnel that it currently resides there.
Guess what else? Guess who else was there? Tiger Bachmer,
(39:22):
Tiger Uppercut.
Speaker 1 (39:24):
What's that from?
Speaker 3 (39:26):
Tiger Uppercut? If you know what that's from? DM me
right now, get your free Royal Army. No no, no,
don't say it.
Speaker 1 (39:34):
Do you know what it's from? Is it a video game?
It's okay, right, so you know, hit me up DM.
Speaker 3 (39:40):
He had a Crital Benjamin, and I'll get you some
Royal Army brand swag b O E Swiger to by

ESPN N I six to coupon code to get ten
percent off your order. So just a couple of months ago,
you had Bear Bachmeyer and Tiger Bachmeyer.
Speaker 1 (39:59):
Deep in enemy territory.
Speaker 3 (40:05):
With the Cardinal So yeah, if you're gonna start a
true freshman, then I'm looking at the schedule, I'm looking
at the opponents, I'm looking familiar looking at familiarity of scheme, talent, etc.
Speaker 1 (40:16):
Okay, that's what I know. So Bear, you know, That's
why I'm probably more.
Speaker 3 (40:21):
Confident now after seeing hearing discussing, you know, post scrimmage
what occurred, how it occurred, and then seeing what we
saw today at practice. Bear was operating well. Bear was
making some good throws. He wasn't hanging onto the football.
He's releasing that football, letting his guys make plays without
having any sort of repercussion. I think the first week
(40:43):
he probably threw a couple of picks.
Speaker 1 (40:44):
That's okay.
Speaker 3 (40:45):
He was able to revamp remodel his game. And when
we saw him last though, he was holding onto the
ball and running, which isn't the worst thing in the
world when you really break it down. Didn't like his reads,
tucked it ran.
Speaker 1 (40:59):
He's a big runner. Some people have compared him running
style wise and athleticism wise to Tim Tebow.
Speaker 3 (41:07):
That is not to say he throws like Tim Tebow.
That's not to say he leads like Tim Tebow. That
does That's not to say he's a Heisman Trophy candidate.
Utah fans will mention, you know, we'll slide into my
DMS and say I'm X, Y and Z like. No,
it's his athleticism and build that merits that particular comparison
body type, athleticism.
Speaker 4 (41:27):
Can I have this?
Speaker 5 (41:28):
He was going against the first team defense as well.
It wasn't the ones against the twos. It was ones
versus ones. Sure that makes it more.
Speaker 1 (41:35):
Impressive, yes, yes, true.
Speaker 5 (41:41):
The fact that he's completing it wasn't a scene pass.
I don't know what it was, but a pass up
the middle Carson RAI was going toward the sideline, tight coverage.
I believe it was Tanner Wall and being able to
place that ball where he did. That's good stuff. That's
what you want to see. That's a tough throw to make,
and he made it. I'm surprised he made it when
(42:03):
I saw him throwing it to cars.
Speaker 4 (42:05):
No, that's not no.
Speaker 3 (42:06):
It was right where it needed to be This is
what I'll say about starting a true freshman. A Rod's
going to make his money this year. Arod's gonna make
his money. He's gonna live and die by his quarterback rope.
So if you tried out the true freshman and he fails, right,
(42:30):
then you obviously made the wrong decision. Right, But you
have a backup in McKay. Hillstaid that has experience. What's
going to happen with McKay? How are you gonna utilize him?
Speaker 9 (42:40):
Right?
Speaker 6 (42:40):
You know?
Speaker 3 (42:40):
Are you gonna operate outside the pocket with him? He's
gonna have to make his money. He's gonna have to
adapt to a true freshman quarterback, inexperienced quarterback and operate
in a way that or architect in a way that
disallows or limits bear Bachmeyer's bad decision making as a
true freshman, the constant starting a true freshmen or interceptions,
(43:01):
bad decisions, you know, just.
Speaker 1 (43:03):
Errant, errant with the football on the throw or fumble
lighters because the first time he gets it. He may
be big, he may be strong, but boss security at
the college football level is different. You better keep it
high and tight.
Speaker 3 (43:18):
You better have good grip strength, forum strength, upper body strength,
it's not just the lower half build, it's not just
the core build. It's upper body strength as well. So
a Rod's gonna have to make his money this year
because if the offense struggles, I don't know how much
grace BYU fans will have for an inefficient, zero mediocre offense.
Speaker 1 (43:44):
I think that's the thing.
Speaker 3 (43:46):
So he's gonna have to be very architecturally sound with
his scheme, right with a true freshman and then an
inexperienced to a certain degree McKay. Even though he's he's
still in experience, he's at the G five level. This
is different. This is a different ball game. This is
a different level, This is a different league, different ballplayer
(44:07):
that you're going against. So we do have some sound
a Rod sound.
Speaker 1 (44:14):
Let's get to it.
Speaker 3 (44:15):
Offense coordinator Aaron Roderick discussing the quarterback competition and more to.
Speaker 6 (44:20):
Look out there today.
Speaker 13 (44:21):
Good, we're having had a lot of success moving the ball.
Well when our first students in there thought, uh got
some good, good play out of our first team. You know,
we're held back some of those first team guys a
little bit up to this point, and now we're starting
to ramp up a little more and get those guys
more involved. And when when our best elevens on the
field were, We're gonna be tough to deal with first
(44:42):
team QB reps today. Bear took the majority today and
McKay got some as well. As I mentioned Saturday. We
can't keep going equal reps with three guys anymore. So, uh,
you know, each day you're gonna see right now McKay
and Bear getting the majority of the reps with the
ones in the twos and and that's that's where we're
at right now, getting a nice past the Carson there
(45:02):
were what we were allowed to watch there in that
drive to the end of practice.
Speaker 9 (45:06):
He's making those throws.
Speaker 12 (45:07):
He throws a lot of completions.
Speaker 13 (45:08):
That's one thing he's he's uh doesn't take sacks and
he's very accurate and uh throwing throwing a lot of
completions out here.
Speaker 9 (45:16):
What is a fault camp with a quarterback battle? Like?
Speaker 4 (45:18):
For you?
Speaker 10 (45:19):
Is it is a nerve wracking? Do you lose sleep
or do you just deal with.
Speaker 4 (45:21):
It the day of the time.
Speaker 13 (45:23):
Well, yeah, I mean I feel an obligation sure to
do the right thing for our program. You know, the
players first of all, and the coaches and their families.
You've got to want to do the right thing and
make sure.
Speaker 12 (45:32):
You get get it right.
Speaker 13 (45:33):
And uh, and then all of our fans, you know,
we we've got great fans, and I want to make
sure that we put the the guy on the field.
Speaker 12 (45:40):
That's earned it and deserves it.
Speaker 13 (45:41):
And and it doesn't matter if it's a freshman or
a sophomore or a transfer.
Speaker 12 (45:47):
The standard is the standard here at quarterback.
Speaker 13 (45:49):
And so we're you know, we're not going to lower
that standard no matter what we're gonna We need guys
to keep stepping up and playing like the qbs of
the past year.
Speaker 9 (45:57):
You should your first eleven look good.
Speaker 10 (45:59):
You like they're in the right track to get ready
for the first.
Speaker 13 (46:02):
Yeah, we have, we have a lot of work to
do still, but it's getting a little bit cleaner every day,
and that's why you practice and having a big twelve
officiating crew. Saturday in the stadium was great. We learned
a lot of good lessons that day about just all
the little details that can cost you. And I thought,
the last two days it's been cleaner. And then that's
the goal is just keep keep improving each day.
Speaker 8 (46:22):
There are a number of alignment you feel comfortable playing
in a game Right now.
Speaker 13 (46:27):
I think we're at about eight. I might be missing
a guy there, but we have a good group there.
There's some good, really good competition going on for those
five spots. Coach with your offense collectively, how are they
with the playbook?
Speaker 10 (46:44):
It's everybody on top of it.
Speaker 13 (46:48):
We have smart guys here, so yeah, we and you
know that's all that's been a strength of this program
for a long time as we get to coach tough,
smart kids and so yeah, I think not every everybody
has it down completely yet, but we have smart kids
that are going to do what they're told and they
execute what.
Speaker 10 (47:06):
Went into the decision. And when you can make a
decision to give the rest with the.
Speaker 13 (47:10):
Ones that came there, well, the decisions it happens on
the field. I mean, it's it's not like I just say, oh,
this is what I decided today.
Speaker 12 (47:18):
It's what happens on the field.
Speaker 13 (47:21):
The guy that moves the team. We want to move
the team and score points. So if you take care
of the football and you throw completions and you make
good decisions, and a lot of times it's things that
fans don't see a lot of times it's a guy's
got two plays and gets us into the right play
and you hand it off and make four yards and
nobody knew that. The quarterback just did the right thing
for our program. They got us out of a bad play.
(47:42):
Those things are big, and so we're evaluating that every
day and the guys that play the best, the guy
that plays the best will.
Speaker 12 (47:49):
Be the one that starts in the first game.
Speaker 8 (47:51):
Coach.
Speaker 7 (47:52):
Of course there's some daughters, especially with not to bed
at a horse, but with the part Jake, how much
more of a chip on this team's shoulder this offense?
Speaker 10 (48:00):
Are you seeing this came?
Speaker 3 (48:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 13 (48:03):
I think it's kind of similar to last year, where
you know, nobody thought we were any good and we
had something to prove last year, and I think there's
a little bit of that going on right now too.
Speaker 1 (48:12):
People.
Speaker 13 (48:13):
You know, I think people have lost a little faith
and in us offensively, and our players I think are
determined to show that we still have a really good team.
Speaker 12 (48:20):
How were your skill positions doing catching the football?
Speaker 13 (48:25):
Yeah, we have a lot of good you know, like
our obviously receivers that's their job, but our tight ends
are doing a nice job. Carson Ryan's an excellent receiver
and our running backs are really good receivers.
Speaker 12 (48:34):
We we were using those guys a lot in the
passing game. It's a decent timetable for the quarterback starting naming.
Speaker 13 (48:42):
And does is it affected by the fact that you're
either playing SCS opponent the first week or competitive advantage?
Speaker 12 (48:47):
How do you kind of view all that together.
Speaker 13 (48:50):
We haven't set a deadline, but the sooner the better,
and once it's clear, we'll we'll make the move, if
you know, as soon as as soon as it's clear
to us who the right who it is will make
that we'll make that statement.
Speaker 3 (49:01):
Yet that's the Aaron Rodericks sound your takeaways. Let's start
with you man.
Speaker 5 (49:11):
My takeaways as there was not a lot there not
a lot to dice. He wasn't offering much. I mean,
I guess the one notable thing is that it's Baron McKay.
Trason appears to be out. It's it's a two horse battle.
And the reason I'm only only seventy on Bear is
because of the framework we saw last year with Gary
(49:32):
Bohannon and Jake RhD Slough and it's like, okay, listen.
Speaker 4 (49:37):
We're gonna give this kid every opportunity. All right, McKay,
you're back on the ones. You better be spinning it.
You better be going Bud.
Speaker 5 (49:44):
And if he responds and if they're equal, yeah, you
can make the argument, Yeah we're gonna go McKay out
of the gate.
Speaker 4 (49:51):
That's why I'm still at seventy five percent.
Speaker 5 (49:55):
But but but but now you're looking at me like,
oh I I still think.
Speaker 4 (50:00):
It's gonna be Bear.
Speaker 5 (50:01):
I've been seventy five percent Bear just because you're eighty
five percent anyway, whatever.
Speaker 4 (50:07):
But but yeah, there there, there wasn't a lot there.
Speaker 5 (50:10):
I again, Carson Ryan's mentioned prominently. Yeah, he's gonna be
a big, big part of what BWA he does this year.
I was wondering about that on the outside of fall camp. Yeah,
this guy's good portsar spring was good. He's having a
fantastic fall session. And it looks natural. When you saw
BA you throwing it to the tight end and never
really looked natural. It looked like outside of the framework
(50:32):
of what the offense does.
Speaker 4 (50:33):
Carson Ryan is kind of the focal point. I don't
I might go that far.
Speaker 5 (50:38):
He's he's there, he's getting targets, he's quarterbacks.
Speaker 4 (50:42):
Trust him. It's it's a thing.
Speaker 5 (50:44):
Tight ends are going to be catching balls this year,
and I'll mention this needs look good.
Speaker 4 (50:50):
Keon Need. Yeah, I talked to Gibilbray a little bit
about him.
Speaker 5 (50:53):
He's he's very very excited with what he seems from
is a ke On Need am I saying there.
Speaker 4 (50:58):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, future years he could be a dude.
So yeah, I like what's going on with this.
Speaker 3 (51:04):
Definitely a large human in line tight end more so
than a receiving tight end, I think.
Speaker 1 (51:08):
So he's more of your your your blocker.
Speaker 3 (51:11):
I did see Noah Moayaki out there today running with
the Ones as well, Yeah, rotating in, So we'll see.
Speaker 1 (51:17):
How it plays out.
Speaker 3 (51:18):
Ronnie any thoughts, any commentary as to uh where Aaron
Rodgers leaning right now in that uh that post practice SoundBite.
Speaker 6 (51:27):
Uh, he's going to tell us the right type of things.
Speaker 7 (51:30):
But McKay was taking the majority of excuse me, bear
was taking my majority of the reps at the Ones today.
Speaker 6 (51:36):
I will see on Friday of.
Speaker 7 (51:37):
McKay's take a majority of the one reps and that
will tell me a lot.
Speaker 1 (51:40):
More than Ronnie all in All said.
Speaker 3 (51:44):
I am all in g Man said seventy five, I'm
at eighty.
Speaker 1 (51:50):
I'll go eighty five.
Speaker 4 (51:53):
Coming.
Speaker 1 (51:54):
You know, That's kind of where I'm at right now.
Speaker 3 (51:55):
Like I do think it would take a significant comeback
from mcay to just start like just balling out, like
he's going to have to like do some tremendous things,
makes some great plays, uh and and and.
Speaker 1 (52:12):
Throw guys open right.
Speaker 3 (52:16):
And and ultimately capture the heart of the locker room,
because right now, I don't know if he's if McKay's
been able to capture the hearts of the locker room,
the wide receivers, the tight ends, the running backs, like
you have to do that, and if you haven't captured it,
then it's just up for grabs and Bear may end
(52:38):
up receiving it.
Speaker 1 (52:39):
It's not like Bear. Bear may may be in the same.
Speaker 3 (52:43):
Situation where he's not necessarily capturing the entirety the entire
heart of the locker room, but you're leaving it up
for grabs, which allows it Aaron Rodger to say, Okay,
well it's up for grabs, like I'm gonna go with
the younger guy. I'm gonna go with the bigger, stronger
guy that can run the ball, or that you know,
I can build this offense through by mid season, the potential,
(53:07):
the upside, all those things. You can't leave it up
for grat And that's where it's at right now. So
McKay could take it. He could really adapt and remodel,
retool and start taking some chances and not just.
Speaker 1 (53:21):
Be a game manager.
Speaker 3 (53:22):
I think McKay's the type that will do what you
tell him to do. And I was giving you guys
a few anecdotes off the air. It's like, sometimes to
be the guy you don't necessarily do exactly what the
coach tells you to do.
Speaker 1 (53:35):
You have to go out and make play.
Speaker 9 (53:37):
Go ma.
Speaker 1 (53:39):
You do what you do because you make plays, you
may have to check.
Speaker 3 (53:43):
You may have to say red seven, red seven, hot route,
hot route.
Speaker 1 (53:49):
And go take a shot and you better be right.
But what do you have to lose? It's true, what
do you have to lose?
Speaker 3 (53:56):
Sometimes being coachable can be actually the wrong path.
Speaker 6 (54:01):
Can I give an antidote here?
Speaker 1 (54:02):
Sometimes you gotta go take it.
Speaker 7 (54:04):
He might if if you're McKay, you know it's a
two between you and Bear. You might have to channel
some Jake red Slaugh. You might have to get a
little bit you know aggressive.
Speaker 1 (54:14):
Let's be honest.
Speaker 3 (54:15):
You know, Jake wasn't always doing what he was supposed
to do freelancer, not always, but with some things like right,
like you see you see that the guys in triple coverage,
You're like, forget it, Chases down there, gonna make a play,
Joe Burrow, Hey, Chase down there.
Speaker 1 (54:28):
Shot him in trouble too. But I'll throw a goal line.
Speaker 7 (54:33):
But I bring up to your point, like with that
answidote that you're bringing up if if if you need
to make a play, you might have to go make
a play. You might have to be like, Noah, not today, coach.
I'm keeping the ball. I did that in a rugby
a few times. Need you pass it out? Nope, because
if I score, you gotta play me in the second half.
Sometimes you gotta do that and then when it when
you know, when the messes up, you might get bitched.
(54:56):
So anyway, to Ben's point, hopefully you know again, like
I said, said, I'm declarative in in bear, but you
know I like competition. I had nothing wrong with Ja
coming back and said no, no, not so fast. So
McKay does that a but made the best man win.
