Batterwealth dot com got a great show for you. B
y U's two and oh what could be better than that?
And two convincing victories. Good teams win, great teams cover
and BYU has covered multiple times now cover the spread

(00:54):
versus Portland State.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
Maybe that was expected.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
Some weren't expecting BYU to cover versus Stafford. But here
at ESPN nine sixty he ESPN the fen we discussed
in the pregame. We felt very confident that BYU would cover,
and they did such the defense balled out special teams
I thought did a decent job as well. A good
to great effort, at times not an elite effort, and

(01:19):
then the offense showcased their running ability I think in
the second half, just pounding the rock, establishing the line
of scrimmage and the physicality and violence that we have
come to expect. I think from a BYU offensive line
coach by TJ. Woods, you gotta admit, man, it's fun

(01:39):
to watch this BYU offensive line block under TJ.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Woods.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
It's a bit different, less patty cake, more directed linear
violence across the line of scrimmage. Loved it and LJ.
Martin I said it after a few runs.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
LJ.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
Martin, Tyler Awzier, Jamal Williams, Harvey ung Gud Luke Staley.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
He has the potential. I think.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
At the end of his career at b of BYU,
of his end of his BYU, you know, four year career,
he could be labeled as one of the best to
come through Brigham.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
Jamal Willis Okay, one of those.

Speaker 4 (02:23):
Guys as well. Don't want to miss out in it,
but that's it. We're talking modern era here. LJ has
the potential. I think we saw that the defense was
led by Jack Kelly, Isaiah Glasker Keanutanavasa deserves a ton
of credit as well. John Tall Mupeo continues to impress me,
We're gonna break it all down here on here you die.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
Let's first and foremost welcome in uh the one the
Only G Man.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Brandon C. Gerty of The Daily Herald, g Man, Hey, you're.

Speaker 5 (03:37):
Thinking of saying something clever enough that came to mind.
Will pause there, So I'm just the G man. But
that's okay, the G man, all right.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
That is your brand.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
That is who you are. Is that is I tried
to go away from me for a while.

Speaker 5 (03:48):
I was stupid and bad business decision with this Speway team.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
I was thinking about this in your opening monologue.

Speaker 5 (03:54):
A hallmark at Kilani Sataki coach teams through his initial
years was it wasn't that per day to both team.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
You never really knew what you were going to get
from BWAA from week to week.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
Sometimes they'd overachieved, sometimes they've underachieved. It would drive you crazy.
I thought this game would go twenty four to six.
With my prediction it we had almost exactly like I
thought it would. That's a mark of a culture team.
A team that does what it does, has identity.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
And I think that's what's coming around you.

Speaker 5 (04:24):
Listen to Klaunie speak about this team, he exudes confidence.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
He knows exactly what it is.

Speaker 5 (04:30):
He knows what his coordinators are, he knows what his
personnel is, by and large more so than at any
time during his coaching career, and it's very satisfying to him.
And I think that's that's what you have to say
about this BWAU team. I kind of wrote the same
lead two weeks in Row in that B way, you
is what we thought they were. To quote Dennis Green,

(04:50):
they are what we thought they were. That's exactly what
you thought. Yeah, they're going to struggle a little bit
on offense, it's coming. You got the true rushman quarterback
for that defense. They were swallowing up whatever Stanford presented.
They were really really good. I don't know they exceeded
my expectation because I really do believe this defense is very,

(05:11):
very good. Jack Kelly, Holy cow, that guy was a
wrecking crew that second quarter.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
He just owned it.

Speaker 5 (05:17):
And then Isaiahla, I know, I gotta get mine, gotta
get in there too, and he starts wrecking things. But anyway,
talking to Klawne today about his death, he is really
really excited. I think Klannie was more forthcoming in this way.
And maybe it's because it's a bye week and he
feels a little more free. I'm sure that's part of it.
But he really exuded a lot of confidence and a
lot of good vibes about how excited he is about

(05:40):
the young personnel on his defense. He is very I
think he used the term it's a special group. Special group.
He really likes what's coming around the death, the overall
playmaking ability. But yeah, Bayu is what we thought they were,
and I think there's something to be said about that
that speaks to culture. Like Robert and I everyone Chris

(06:00):
as Robert and Andy, right, but you knew what that
offense was. It had identity, it did what it did,
and their strengthened that. There's a lot of strength and
b Way you definitely has that on defense and that's
why b Way he's going to be in every single
game it plays this year.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
I'm very comfortable saying that.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
I like the breakdown from the g Man seems pretty optimistic.
Has anything changed as far as your win loss prediction?

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Like?

Speaker 1 (06:25):
What are the question is going to be today?

Speaker 4 (06:29):
What did we find out about this BYU football team
that we didn't already know?

Speaker 1 (06:34):
What are your what.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
Do you what are you like excited about and what
are you concerned about.

Speaker 5 (06:38):
I'm concerned about the offense. You're gonna have to start
putting up points. That's going to have to be a thing.
What gives me optimism about the offense is why it's
not putting points on the board. It's not being out physical.
It's not Wow, they can't do this. They can do it,
but they're stupid penalties. Bear maybe not making the right read,
some gaps and passpro It's big fool things, the things

(07:01):
you expect to happen. But I think the most positive
development with this offense is Bear has shown marked improvement
in both the games he's played. He's a better quarterback
in the fourth quarter than he is in the first
quarter quarter and a lot of that's credit to a
rod as he settles in, sees how the gameplay's going about,
makes proper adjustments.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
You saw him go more temple with Bear.

Speaker 5 (07:21):
It's like, Okay, Stanford's doing this, let's do let's counteract
with that. And it's just part of the growth process.
But I think you can hang your hat on a
lot of Bear's growth during game time as he settles in.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
If it was one thing.

Speaker 5 (07:33):
It's like, oh wow, he's coming byther ause scheme of them,
and then the defense that was in all Bear can't
read anything anymore.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
No, we're not seeing that, we're seeing the inverse of that.

Speaker 5 (07:41):
I think that's a positive development, and that's why you're
optimistic about Bear Backmeyer's progress moving forward. Stamford's good defensively.
I think that's a good defensive team offense man not
also many their offense. But I think it was a
good test. I think it was a solid test. I mean,
I don't think it's a lights out defense, but I
think it's a probably an average defense, right, I don't know,

(08:03):
fifty of sixtieth rank defense.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
So I think it was a good test.

Speaker 5 (08:06):
I think Bear largely performed well given all the qualifications
and everything that goes into it, and he improved as
the game went on.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
I E.

Speaker 5 (08:15):
Wow, Chase Roberts is being single covered. Let's throw to
him every time. That's what you do, Chase Roberts, single cover.
I don't care how type the coverage. Just get it
to that guy. Wake up with him. Go to that
indoor practice facility every day at six am, Worth growing
boom boom, boom.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
That's all we're doing. Number two. That's it.

Speaker 5 (08:34):
Sorry about the other receivers. No, you're the guy. You're
Chase Roberts. You're superior, You're fantastic. This is the Chase
Roberts offense. I'm very comfortable to say this because the
go to all B Way receivers has been prescribing this
throughout the offseason. Chase Roberts offense, Single covered, boom. I
don't care what else is out there, single covered. That's

(08:54):
an automatic every single time. And I think Bear starting
to understand that and get that, and as he starts
to you don't become comfortable in understanding the timing and
what Chase does and all that, and just get that
ball close to him. It's going to find purchase and
a lot of it. And I think that's what's developing.
So yeah, stay with that.

Speaker 4 (09:13):
Love that breakdown from the Damatless. Also welcome into the show, Ronald,
the three man Weaver.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
What's up, Ronnie? What's up? What are we doing?

Speaker 6 (09:19):
I'm on Flex this week They cover but I didn't
think it'd be like that, so I'm with you.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
There are some concerns.

Speaker 6 (09:26):
I think we get a little too cute sometimes when
you do too much movement, you just need to keep
it simple. Kiss keep it simple, stupid is what they say.
I think if you just would have done that. But
I was a little disappointed, I think, and Ben and
I had a discussion about this. I think you would
agree with how Chase Roberts was single coveraged. You should
have ran the football and he should have had one twenty.
He should have had one of those eight to nine

(09:46):
ten yard reception days with one hundred and twenty yards
in a tub. He dropped one down, so maybe two,
you could argue. So a lot to fix you like
that is just little mistakes like this. It's not like
you said they're getting all physical, but that defense, I've
said it. You guys got on me at the beginning
of the season. I wasn't trying to make a high,
hyperbolic take. It's not the defense was like they're in
mid season form right now, and Janals got those boys

(10:08):
in check.

Speaker 4 (10:09):
Let's also welcome in Brett always bringing the hammer hammer time.
How you feeling, Well, Look, look I don't know what
that means. Look, we knew this thought you were going
to go family guy when he like hit his Just
me and he goes.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
Looking, he's giving us the Taysom Hill look. Look, that's
how That's how Taysom preface.

Speaker 7 (10:30):
We knew the run game was good. We knew a
Rod wanted to run it, and we knew he was
obsessed with it. We knew the defense is good. What
I didn't know is I don't.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
Think this team trusts their past game.

Speaker 7 (10:40):
It's and it's not even I don't even think it's
that they don't trust Bayer.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
I think it's I don't.

Speaker 7 (10:45):
Know where the blameline lies, but somewhere in there, it
just felt like and it's not even like they tried it.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
And it didn't do well. Outside of that, there was
the deep ball to Jojo.

Speaker 7 (10:58):
That didn't come down, and then there was the deep
au to Chase that did come down. But outside of
that and a couple of hot passes on screen rits,
it just didn't feel like they trusted or wanted to
try this past game.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
And that's what I learned on Saturday. We've discussed it.

Speaker 4 (11:15):
I think throughout Fall Camp like I'll continue to harp
on it, like I think that where the fan base
will have a little bit of a folly if you
feel like if you believe that Bear Bachmeyer is supposed
to to win football games for you and to throw
to win football games.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
And I've tried to.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
I've tried, and even John has hopped into the show
and discussed it. It's like John has stated, Hey, Bear's
a good quarterback. Is he an e lead thrower? Is
he a great thrower? Like he's he's good, He's good enough.
He's not a player that you're just gonna expect to
just take in in tempo and just start ripping it everywhere.

(11:58):
Just go back, Like I said, look at Game one
Portland State, Trayson Borgay's deep ball to Dom McKenzie and
then compare Bear's deep ball to Chase Roberts or any
of his vertical routes.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
They're two different footballs.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
I still believe Trayson and McKay are better throwers than Bear.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
Yes, and it's not that close to me.

Speaker 4 (12:21):
But Bear is a good decision maker, and he's probably
a better runner.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
And I don't want to hate on McKay here.

Speaker 4 (12:28):
McKay's just a little bit more spelt or a little
bit you know, smaller, and and he's just not maybe
capable of powering through a two hundred and thirty pound
linebacker on red.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
Zone QB lead. Yeah, does that make sense? I mean,
that's all I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (12:42):
Yeah, And Bear's gonna be very coachable. Gon gonna stay
within the architecture, that's what That's what a lot of
young quarterbacks that trust their OC will do. And so
Bear is making certain decisions based off of what a
Rod is coaching them up with Festius coaching to do.
So I just said, I'm we're going to continue to

(13:03):
reiterate this on our show. Don't expect Bear just to
go out there and be an NFL quarterback right now.
If you want, go back and watch Tim Tebow early
on his career where he was like running a lot,
making some decent throws sometimes. And Bear's gonna get better.
He's gonna get better through these six games. We just
hope he stays healthy throughout the process. VIC noticed after

(13:26):
that QB lead run that right arm was smashed by
a helmet and he was kind of shaking things out
a little bit.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
So he want to be careful. Good Bear, stop running
like that. I know Ronnie didn't like it. Ronnie didn't
like it.

Speaker 6 (13:40):
I just think Gay Ross put him in a bad
situation like you get you gotta protect the kid, and
Klanie mentioned that, well, I'll tease a little bit. Klanie
has something to say about that.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
Come come to next.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
You do need to run him? How much do you
need to run him? It's the question twelve times definitely.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
Not more than Yeah, we're gonna get to post game
sound from Kilanie, Jack Kelly, follow Tau Softa Wallace, Yoni Moa,
Chase Roberts also will welcome in Brady Papina and John
Beck on the back end of the show. Stay tuned,
don't go way anywhere, Tons to get to that's our ESPN.

(15:18):
Kalanie Saitake post game had some interesting things to say,
and I want to delve in to some of those
comments in this segment. So shout out to uh Kalani
Sataki for answering golf our questions.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
This was his opening statement to start off the postgame.

Speaker 11 (15:33):
Pressure happy, we got the win, really pleased with a
lot of things that we saw, specifically with the defense.

Speaker 10 (15:42):
I think some things got kind of rough at the end.

Speaker 11 (15:44):
I think we're had some mistakes here and there, but overall,
I think guys are just trying to stretch too much,
trying to make the big play themselves on defense, and
I think offensively not the same thing that's happening. But
a lot of the issues were just mistakes on our end,
and you know, the penalties that gets you out of
in bad field position, and then but overall, just happy

(16:07):
with with the win. Obviously looking at you know, Stanford, Uh,
they obviously had an extra week to prep for us,
and hopefully we can take advantage of the extra week
ourselves and get ready for East Carolina. But they they
did some really good things on defense, threw us off
a little bit. They're they're a little bit more familiar
with with our quarterback, and so we just got to

(16:28):
control the things that we control. With all that being said,
happy that we were able to win the game and
they never feel like we were stressed in the game completely,
So you know, just just I have to look at
some of the decisions I made as a head coach.
Whether we went for the right that fourth down, I
think it was fourth and five or so, it's kind
of stretching.

Speaker 10 (16:48):
It and we got so installed on that drive. Probably
take that one back.

Speaker 11 (16:53):
And then just some other some other thoughts like the
when they had a penalty for twelve men on the
field that would have put him on the one and
one in the half, maybe one in three quarters.

Speaker 10 (17:04):
Maybe we should have gone for it.

Speaker 11 (17:06):
If you don't get it, then at least you have
great field position and defense already got a safety.

Speaker 10 (17:10):
It was interesting.

Speaker 11 (17:11):
The first fourteen points are kind of weird, you know,
six points without a conversion a safety, and I think
two field goals got us fourteen zero, and then the
second half was a touchdown in two field goals. And
thought about letting uh, we'll kick the sixty four yarder.
He was ready for it, but uh, stop the clock

(17:31):
way too early. If we would, if we would have
just let the clock get down to three seconds, maybe
we could have done that. But it's all right with
With Sam as a punter, I think he can pin
the ball with his accurate kicks and we're able to
flip the field quite a bit with him doing that.
So overall, just please with with with what we saw
from the team. Please, We've got that. We've got to win,
but we know we need to improve and get better

(17:52):
for next week. But I want to wish stand for
the best to love the rest of the rest of
the way. We felt like they gave us some they
made things really difficult for us and which can look
forward to try to learn from this in the next one.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
All right, there you go, that's Kilanie man. You said
there was a stream of consciousness coming out of Kilani
in that opening statement.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
What do you make of it?

Speaker 2 (18:13):
I think he's comfortable.

Speaker 5 (18:15):
That's what I was thinking during his comments is I
think this team's exactly pretty much exactly where he wanted
it to be, and these first two games largely.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
Went like he wanted.

Speaker 5 (18:27):
It's kind of an ideal scenario heading into the bye week.
I think everything's going according to plan with what's being
laid out.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
Before him, and that's identity.

Speaker 5 (18:37):
He understands this team and they're executing and they're up
to par with his expectation so far. I mean, there
might be little nitpicky things here and there, but generally,
I think that's what is being expressed from Kilani in
the postgame, certainly in today's press conference, where he was
a really forthcoming and just seemed comfortable. He just seems

(18:57):
really really comfortable with what's going on. He really likes
what's going on. Defensively, that's where he's just and he's
a defensive coach, so of course that's gonna be the
thing that he wants to be up to park more
more than anything else, with all due respect to the offense.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
That's what I think, of course he wants.

Speaker 5 (19:13):
It all together, but defensively he's very, very happy with
what he's seeing, and I think it's mostly because of
his defensive line. I think now he's finally has a
defensive line that's stout where he doesn't have to be
GREATI where they can just out physical up front, and
I don't think the way's really had that to.

Speaker 2 (19:33):
The degree that they can present this year. Catatonio vass
is good. He is really really good.

Speaker 5 (19:39):
And I think I Missnomber A lot of mans have
with defense attackle Well, why is he making tackles? Why
is he making place That's not what defensive tackles do.
Just watch what he does and what he allows to
happen around him is what a defensive tackle does.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
Once they get justin kirkland in it.

Speaker 4 (19:54):
Could be really for your point, do you remember the
uh almost safety from Jack Kelly before Folatow got him.
Jack Kelly was completely unblocked, like the best defensive player
you know quotation right, Like some people would say Jack
Kelly number seventeen was completely unblocked. They they didn't even

(20:18):
block them. Why Cano Tanabasa and John tem Payo in
the middle. So like when those are when that's the
biggest concern in front of an offensive lineman. They're scared
out of their freaking minds of getting destroyed up front,
and all of a sudden, they just hyper focused and
they don't even look at the second level.

Speaker 1 (20:35):
They don't even they're.

Speaker 4 (20:36):
Not even thinking about picking up a blitzing, a run
blitzing linebacker.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
They're just so concerned about what's in front of them.

Speaker 5 (20:44):
Yeah, you have defensive tackles that demand a double team
in attention.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
That's a big, big thing.

Speaker 5 (20:51):
And and and Klannie mentions that off the cuff all
the time.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
Kano Tanabasa, Caiano, Tonabasa Naasa.

Speaker 5 (20:57):
And then he then he goes with John Tumil Bayo
and body Schoonover and man An Easy Purcell at Pooa
Billy Ami poo I had a really nice game, I thought, And.

Speaker 2 (21:10):
Logan Latuoi you look at his stats.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
Wow, he did that leading tackler.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
Yeah, there's some good stuff going on with that. B
way you defense the front.

Speaker 4 (21:18):
Let's talk about Buiu's rush rush defense. Why has this
rush run defense been so effective?

Speaker 11 (21:26):
Well, having number fifty seven there, it makes things really difficult.
And then you put him with with you know, you
combine him with JT and the rest of the D line.
The front sevens is playing at a high level right now,
especially in run defense, and then just having a backer
like Jack that can fill and Klaska that can do
can run and hit, and Siatta that can do that.

(21:46):
I mean, we feel really good about our depth at
in the front seven. I think there's a lot of
questions about the detackle position. I think we're answering that
and hoping to get Kirkling back soon so that that
would be make it even more to be for something more.
So He's obviously got a nice three hundred and forty
pound frame that we would love to use. But we
saw guys like you know, Paul Kofe came and played

(22:08):
and he's a big boy too. So I like what
she has done with the group, and I like how
Jay uses the entire D line, having you know, with
k Pop what he does at the end, and what
Justin has done with the linebacker. So it's been nice.
And then if you do things right, you should get
to get some picks. I think the safety's got the interceptions,
raider and volatile, and I thought the corners did some

(22:30):
good lockdown stuff. So I mean, overall, I thought we
tackled really well on defense too, and so it comes
down to the fundamentals we just got to. I mean, it
wasn't a complete game, but I don't mind what the
defense did and special teams. I think the only negative
I would take is this the failed conversion on that,
and that's okay. I mean I thought, uh, it wasn't

(22:51):
executed the right way if you talked to me and
K Pop. But but uh, you know, we're capable of
doing a lot of different things. I do like the
way Sam punted, and I like the way we got
some returns. He saw Cody get a nice return and
you know Tiger get a nice return as well. So, uh,
you just got to keep taking care of the football
and trying to find ways to make better decisions overall

(23:11):
as a team, and I think we'll be in a
good spot.

Speaker 5 (23:14):
Takeaways, man, Sam van de harr is not being discussed enough.

Speaker 2 (23:19):
Those two punts he pinned inside the five yard line
where they just.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
Died, those are like golden Girnen pitching wedge.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
Oh my goodness, wow, it was the golden g saw.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
I saw just flashballs to the pin that's right, man.

Speaker 4 (23:31):
The Golden Girl is right, just teeing off on like
a par three one hundred and thirty yards and him
just dialing it.

Speaker 5 (23:38):
Sam vander Harr is basically g Man with with the
with the pitching witch exactly.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
That's what he That's what I thought when I saw
those those punts. Sure, I'm dead serious. Don't get into
his g man can He's got a great pitching.

Speaker 5 (23:50):
That's literally all I can do on the golf, of course.
But but anyway, Sam vander Harr.

Speaker 2 (23:54):
That's a weapon. Let the safety.

Speaker 5 (23:57):
That's a big, big thing pinning at offense inside the
five yard line.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
As a former defensive player, he're loving. That feels good.
Oh you want to get out.

Speaker 4 (24:07):
There, especially with a great DC, if you have a
great defensive coordinator, you can do a lot in those situations.
And you saw how confused Stanford was. They thought that
there was another run blitz coming after that, or a
blitz run blitz or or pass blitz like and there're
two different types of pressures. By the way, and the
way that they played it allowed for the the BYU

(24:31):
defense to re react and create a safety volatile red
react what he was supposed to his keys and just
came downhill literally his his his offensive player. They thought
they'd be in man for a man blitz, right, and
there was some man components of it on the outside.
But all Falata had to do was replace the blocker.

(24:56):
The blocker was extending out to go block the periphery,
and then the tackle was supposed to come out and
kick out whoever was coming from the inside out and
followtown literally just like Okay, well the blocker's going that way,
I'm just gonna come downhill and he's just.

Speaker 2 (25:09):
Right right there.

Speaker 4 (25:10):
So Jay Hill, like I want to give credit to
Final Till. He's a great player, great long athletic dude.
But Jay Hill deserves a ton of credit for that
safety as well as Sam Vanderharer. San vanderhal camp first,
Jay Hill come second, and then the players. All they
got to do is just execute, read their keys and
then act.

Speaker 5 (25:29):
I just want to have this really fast about follow
tell I think all of us I can admit this.
We've kind of been frustrated. No, you're your linebacker, now,
don't do this safety thing. Gee Hill might know a
little bit more about what's developing and what can be
and I think we saw that on display Saturday against Stanford,
he was fantastic.

Speaker 1 (25:48):
Well, what's interesting about both of those plays.

Speaker 4 (25:51):
His alignment on both of those plays was in the box,
like five yards off the line of.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
Scrimmage, kind of like linebackers to the.

Speaker 4 (26:03):
Field, like a strong outside linebacker named Isaiah Glasker. Just
that why he dropped him to like buzz coverage into
the flat on the pick, he was literally five yards
off the line of scrimmage and just came downhill and
got a safety that kind.

Speaker 1 (26:22):
Of looked like a strong outside linebacker. Gee, man, I'm
just saying, well.

Speaker 2 (26:26):
Maybe that's his plan.

Speaker 5 (26:27):
Hey, you're a safety that you just it's just a
closer closer to the line of scrimmage.

Speaker 4 (26:32):
These aren't the droids you're looking for, just like Jedi
mind tricking them, Inception, Like you know, yeah, you're safety
in like deep down.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
He's like, you're an outside linebacker.

Speaker 4 (26:41):
You keep on making these outside linebacker plays, rolling them
into the box, you know what I mean. I'm serious. Anyway,
he's a great player. Number eleven had a great game.
Uh let's go to break. We'll come back with more

Speaker 4 (28:20):
Ronnie, Ronnie and I in the booth discussed time and
time again just how bad them boys are of Brigham,
especially at that in that linebacker room, namely Jack Kelly
and Isaiah Glasser. But this entire defense is comprised of
bad boys. They are good. This is an elite defense.
This year, I would say the only weekliest I could
see being exposed, okay, could be in the past game.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (28:46):
You know on the back end, you're gonna be going
to get some good dynamic receivers, okay, And uh you know,
I just.

Speaker 1 (28:54):
I can see that happening.

Speaker 4 (28:56):
There's been a few times in which b YU they're
trying to run, man, they're trying to run man free
and they're they're gonna have some exposures. B YU has
gone up against two horrible offenses, two horrible quarterbacks, and
good quarterbacks will take advantage of Uh. You know, I'd
say good coverage, not great coverage. You can be there

(29:19):
are plenty of times I had good and even great
coverage and somehow, some way the ball was like you know,
back shouldered and you know they caught it.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
Like that happens.

Speaker 4 (29:30):
And quite honestly, b A, your fans, I always say, like,
as you get into the season, make sure you're watching
college football in general, because what you're gonna find is
even at Georgia, even at Alabama, even as the SEC
the Big Ten, like they're not not giving.

Speaker 1 (29:48):
Up chunk yards plays through the air, you know what
I mean?

Speaker 4 (29:53):
Like that, that's one thing that BYU fans need to
understand in this process. Like our defense is good and
we're gonna limit a lot of chunkyardage players.

Speaker 1 (30:01):
We're gonna stop the run.

Speaker 4 (30:02):
But with that, there's gonna be some opportunities to take
some shots downfield and they're gonna have a few completions
along the way.

Speaker 5 (30:09):
Yeah, to your point, friend of the program, Cam Miller
put this out on Twitter. East Carolina's quarterback best, best
quarterback in the American Conference.

Speaker 4 (30:19):
He's very, very, very good. I like that NC State.
He threw for like over three hundred yards and was
very efficient. That was a close game. NC State's a
good football team and that was a one score game.
East Carolina on the road.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
B YU.

Speaker 4 (30:35):
By the way they have, they have a losing record
versus I believe four G six teams historically, and East
Carolina is one of those. East Carolina's got two wins
to BYU's one.

Speaker 5 (30:49):
I'm interested in the quarterback rotation. It seems like Evan
Johnson's a fixture. He's gonna be a guy. Trey Alexander
got a lot of rest. Maury Bomba wasn't played all
that much. She kind of wondered, what's going on there.
Maybe he'll come back. They change up with the course
of practice. But the fact that they can afford to
rotate these guys, I think is a positive development. Jenda
Dunlap got some raps and the new guy from San

(31:11):
Diego State. You said you mentioned he was looking really
good out there, Jayden, Yeah, not sorry, who.

Speaker 4 (31:18):
Yeah, I thought he looked good in in uh in
the fourth quarter when he got pt so and he's
coming along. It's gonna be I thought Tommy had a
great game too. Yeah, yeah, he had a great great
game as well. So you do have some good depth there.
It's what I came away from with with Tavian.

Speaker 5 (31:35):
It's gonna be interesting to see how those guys suffice
against East Carolina because they will be tested and I'm
excited to see it. It's one of the positive developments.
That's why you like this schedule laid out like it is.

Speaker 4 (31:45):
Uh, why don't we get into a little question of

Speaker 1 (32:11):
One of the most impressive things.

Speaker 4 (32:12):
That I think I saw and what I loved probably
most about this game was the offensive line in LJ.

Speaker 1 (32:18):
Martin.

Speaker 4 (32:19):
Okay, out of all the things that I saw, Look,
I love the defense. I expected the defense to be great.
I expected the defense to be elite top twenty five.
That was an expectation special teams, I expected it. The
question marks, in my opinion, always surrounded a Rod's comments

(32:39):
of we're going to be able to run the football.

Speaker 1 (32:42):
We're going to be able to run the football. Okay,
that's what he said.

Speaker 4 (32:45):
He was very declarative because last year, yeah, we ran
the football pretty well, but we always had to get
quarterback run game involved in order to run that. I'm
talking traditional running back run game and hit you in
the mouth immediately and win. That's what you saw. Sometimes
it's like, oh, records, I've got to lose some mob.
Throw it around a bit. Okay, now it's working. No,
they went right at it.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
LJ was doing things boom boom boom.

Speaker 5 (33:08):
This is this is physical and all that defense has
to just other things open up.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
That's what you want to see. And that's what I
saw on Saturday.

Speaker 4 (33:15):
Hundred percent, because that's gonna give Bear more opportunities to
hit single covers to Chase and Parker and Cody and
hopefully Jojoe if he gets back from injury soon, all
these widers, Carson Ryan, Everyone's gonna benefit from LJ being
great at that offensive line being great. Where has LJ.

(33:36):
Martin Colati improved the most? He was asked that question.

Speaker 11 (33:39):
Yeah, he's I don't know if he saw, but he's
got a great vision, and you know, I think it's
he gets stronger as the game goes on. We just
got to keep feeding him the ball and he can
do some good things with it. But I think you
look at what the old line has done too. I
think the Lion has done some really good things locking
up on blocks and Coach Woods done a good job
with that group. You know, it was tough sledding against

(34:01):
this defense. They give us a lot of different looks
and a lot of different blitz packages, and so that's
gonna be really hard, and I think it caused us
some some issues. We had some some mistakes and they
were able to get.

Speaker 10 (34:12):
To the quarterback.

Speaker 11 (34:13):
I don't I just felt like they hit bare too
much from from for me to like. And I know
we ran him a little bit, but he's tough and
he ran over somebody, I think.

Speaker 10 (34:22):
But We don't want to just make a living off
of that, you know.

Speaker 1 (34:27):
I want to make a living off of it.

Speaker 4 (34:29):
He doesn't like his quarterback being blindsided either due to
bad protection. I do think some of that has to
be on a on a true freshman as well, true
freshman quarterback. You gotta know who that extra man is,
where that blitz is coming from.

Speaker 1 (34:42):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (34:42):
But also the slide production probably should have gone to
the left with the ball going to that because he's
a right handed quarterback and that's his blind side. So
the protection that may have been on Brucey, you gotta
you gotta, you gotta push it to the left, uh,
because you gotta understand where that ball's coming out.

Speaker 1 (34:57):
And he was looking to his right.

Speaker 4 (34:58):
So that was his first per that was his first option,
and he wasn't very concerned about his blind side because
maybe the protection should have slid left.

Speaker 5 (35:06):
Anyway, I think a big reason why this offense is
better running the football is the tackle play.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
Andrew Gentry is a very good run blocker. Watch him.
I watched him. Isaiah Jada.

Speaker 5 (35:20):
If he's just a step behind Gentry, I don't know
if he's really good as well. Andrew Gentry and the
interviewing on preseason is like, no, that's what I like,
that's what I do.

Speaker 2 (35:30):
I'm not just this guy.

Speaker 1 (35:31):
That you know.

Speaker 2 (35:33):
And he wasn't working on this passport.

Speaker 5 (35:34):
Maybe it's not quite where past ones, but as far
as run blocking, he might be one of the best
run blocking tackles b where he's had for a while.

Speaker 1 (35:43):
He moves his feet. Watch how they drive.

Speaker 4 (35:45):
Both of them drive really well off the ball, and
they get violent with their hands, leaning with the hat
hat hands game. So I like those comments a lot,
g Man. And look, you know, I think you've got
some criticism too preseason for your declaration that you feel
like the run game and the offensive line could be better.
And so like, hey, guys, uh, you gotta give g

(36:06):
Man a little credit here for his uh, his football takes.

Speaker 1 (36:10):
For the love of all that's.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
Holy, please please, I know some things.

Speaker 1 (36:14):
He knows the thing not a former player.

Speaker 5 (36:16):
I'm kind of dombining a lot of other aspects. No,
but I know things, Criddle, I know things.

Speaker 1 (36:21):
Man knows things, and there's a girth of knowledge.

Speaker 5 (36:24):
And when I feel like salty about it, I will
take the Twitter and all rants about it to no
one in particular I love it and maybe maybe I'll
do it for my tackle take because I got a
lot of pushback by.

Speaker 2 (36:34):
I don't know, GM. Dianna was really good and uh
and they were they were. I'm not gonna argue that.
But as far as run blocking, no, give me.

Speaker 5 (36:43):
Jada and Gentry any day over time and any day
of the week.

Speaker 1 (36:48):
I think that's fair. I think it's fair.

Speaker 4 (36:50):
Now, what Kilani, did you think about the red zone
offense and that touchdown that was called back.

Speaker 11 (36:56):
I'm not gonna worry about the reps. I don't think
it was any anything that. I think there was a
holding on the fly suite right, there's a false start
on the half yard line, and when everybody thought that
he was pushed in.

Speaker 10 (37:15):
Just they just didn't review it.

Speaker 11 (37:17):
And I mean thought about taking a timeouse we can
review it, but you know, they kept telling me that
they're reviewing it. Every play is reviewed, so it's gonna
just keep doing. I mean, I can't sit there and
act like I know I'm not I have the worst
point of view. You know, I'm not on the line scrimmer.
So I just had to trust what they're doing and
we just had some like some misfortune and when it
comes to killing drives to you know, holding penalties and

(37:40):
stuff like that. We just got to clean it up.
But you know this, this is a little bit different
than last week. I thought we were really clean this week.
Just a lot of mental errors and then the penalties
just we just got to fix that, both of those holds.

Speaker 4 (37:52):
I mean, look, the only one I would consider okay
and okay call from the reps was the Parker Kingson
block in the back.

Speaker 1 (37:59):
But even that was a little bit. It wasn't bad.

Speaker 4 (38:03):
The safety slipped, okay, like he may have slightly touched him.
Ke and Need had a fantastic block on the Parker
kt Kingston jet.

Speaker 1 (38:12):
Okay, that was a touchdown.

Speaker 4 (38:13):
It's a travesty that the reps, that sideline judge took
that tuddy away from this team and especially Parker Kingston.
Parker Kingston, let me let me, let me say this
about Parker. Parker has been injured the entirety of fall camp,
in the offseason.

Speaker 1 (38:28):
He's only now getting healthy.

Speaker 4 (38:30):
I know there's not a whole lot of grace in
Cougar Country for for Parker. Right now, I'm saying, hey,
just a little bit more grace A little bit more time,
let him get into a groove.

Speaker 1 (38:42):
And and now's the time to do it. These first
six hamps.

Speaker 4 (38:44):
Now the East Carolina game, this may be be Way's
most difficult foe up to this point. I do believe
East Carolina is a better football team than Stanford, and
they're sure is hack better than Portland State. And it's
on the road. So Parker needs to get his body
mind right through the bye week. Rep it out, visualize it,
come to one, come to center, get to homeostasis, because

(39:09):
you're gonna need park Parker can be an extremely dynamic
receiver and punt returner, and we need him to be
at his best.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
We need him to play well. Now that that.

Speaker 4 (39:19):
That that that jet could have been, that that catalyst
for increased efficiency, confidence, greatness from Parker.

Speaker 1 (39:27):
It didn't happen.

Speaker 4 (39:27):
And then furthermore, Bear kind of threw it behind him
on that shallow drive route near the end zone that
should have been a touchdown as well through behind him
and was almost picked off. He was ugly anyway, there
was some things. It's just not going right for Parker.
We got to get him right. And uh and that
that that that holding call I think was uh was
detrimental for this offense. It should have been a much

(39:50):
more convincing win than it was. And uh, I'm throwing
that one on the refs to a little bit that
the refs were not great on Saturday night under the
lights at Level. Now, Kalanie, how would you assess the
offensive line play?

Speaker 11 (40:05):
Yeah, I think I'll watch the film, but I mean,
obviously we don't like the quarterback getting hit, you know,
and you know, was that because of the receivers aren't
getting open or better didn't get the right read.

Speaker 10 (40:15):
I don't know.

Speaker 11 (40:15):
I have to watch the film, but yeah, we don't
want to. We don't want a quarterback getting hit like that,
and so we'll try to find a ways to fix it.
I thought, like I said, I thought Stafford has some
really good answers to a lot of things that we're doing.

Speaker 10 (40:27):
So we got to prep for it.

Speaker 11 (40:29):
This is this is good that happened to us, and
we were able to win twenty seventy three. So now
we have to learn from it because uh, you know,
East Carolina and every other team that's going to see
this game plan is probably going to try it on us.

Speaker 4 (40:40):
Yeah, I thought Stanford's defensive effort was actually pretty good.

Speaker 1 (40:45):
B Oiams offense is physical.

Speaker 4 (40:48):
I thought the offensive line play from the running game
was fantastic. The pass pro needs to be improved, maybe
rather than not the pass pro, but the protection, I said,
just overall, the protection of picking up h the pressures
that come from a good defensive front, which you know,
is Stanford's defensive front as good or better than East Carolina's.

Speaker 1 (41:08):
I think so.

Speaker 4 (41:09):
But East Carolina's offense is much much better than Stanford's
right now from a throw game standpoint.

Speaker 2 (41:17):
They fixed the pass pro though the second half they did.
That's one thing. It was not a problem.

Speaker 5 (41:22):
I think there were two completely missed assignments, one interior
one on the edge. I don't know if he was
supposed to say whatever, but they fixed it. They addressed it,
and I have a lot of compisences in TJ.

Speaker 2 (41:34):
Woods.

Speaker 5 (41:34):
I think he's a very very good offensive line coach,
and I expect that offensive line to continue to progress
become very very solid in his pass pro.

Speaker 4 (41:43):
Couple things on Bear Bachmeier. What improvements did you see
from Bear throughout the game? Kilane, I think.

Speaker 11 (41:49):
It's just having more games, getting more experience is gonna
be really good for him, you know, and seeing different looks.
I think last week is a little bit easier and
everything seemed to go well, and this one he had
to He had strained a little bit and had to
read things and make checks and things like that, and
that's what it's gonna be more like. So I'm glad
that he got this experience.

Speaker 4 (42:10):
Seventeen of twenty seven on the nine hundred and seventy
five yards of their sixty three percent completion percentage along
with forty one. That one was to Chase roberts On
some on a play action post down the middle of
the field. He was sacked three times though, and carry
the ball twelve for only seven yards.

Speaker 1 (42:25):
That's a lot of hits.

Speaker 4 (42:27):
That's that's uh, that's technically I think you can say,
I think it's approximate, but fifteen hits to your quarterback
because I don't know if he slid it all.

Speaker 1 (42:35):
I don't think he did.

Speaker 2 (42:37):
He's not gonna slide, and that's not something ever he does.

Speaker 6 (42:40):
Never Hopefully that shaking a hand is a lesson.

Speaker 2 (42:43):
Those are pretty good stats.

Speaker 5 (42:45):
If he can comprive, if he can give you that
game in and game out, I think Bay's gonna win games,
because that's not gonna be the emphasis.

Speaker 2 (42:53):
I as long as bway you can continue to.

Speaker 5 (42:55):
Rush for close to two hundred yards, those stats are fine,
but the stat is he's not turning the ball over.

Speaker 2 (43:03):
I mean he almost did.

Speaker 1 (43:05):
How many first how many potential I iNTS did he throw?
Miss interceptions? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (43:11):
And game one, you felt like how many did he throw?

Speaker 5 (43:15):
Maybe that touchdown pass to Carson Ryan a better safety, probably.

Speaker 4 (43:21):
Get the initial the climb route, kind of the over
route that was it was deflected. It was a PBu
Maybe a longer, more athletic P four defender catches that one.
There was a few like close calls Week one, Week two,
just the one, just.

Speaker 2 (43:36):
The one early on cleaned it up. Uh huh. Probably
got there, and I'd buy the Bears very smart.

Speaker 5 (43:42):
He understands what he needs to improve, and it's not
something that's like, no, you got to do this and
be reminded over and over again.

Speaker 2 (43:50):
I think he picks his things pretty fast.

Speaker 6 (43:52):
Well, that's why Chase was kicking himself when he dropped
a touchdown pass because the first near misinterception too fast,
cooks it right the screen to Chase, he dropped it
right in there, right in the red basket.

Speaker 1 (44:02):
Chase dropped us.

Speaker 6 (44:03):
Our Chase had his head down like that because Bart
took a lot off that throw, said, I don't need
to cook it like that.

Speaker 4 (44:09):
Yes, indeed a couple other things here did Stafford's blitz packages.
You've mentioned to throw you guys off at all, collidate
a little.

Speaker 11 (44:15):
Bit, but I mean we've got to make him pay
for it. And maybe I mean, looking at that, we
try to speed up the temple a little bit to
catch them off, and then just just got to get
in the red zone. You gotta gotta I mean, I
don't mind letting Will kick field goals. I mean I
like Will, but I like him kicking pats. I want
to score touchdowns, you know, and a lot of the

(44:38):
I give Stafford a lot of credit, but we didn't
help ourselves too by making mistakes and pass prore making
stakes with the routes.

Speaker 5 (44:45):
I think the adjustment that needs to be made in
the red zone is is Bear's got to be a
running threat.

Speaker 2 (44:51):
Just take it to him. Do what you do. Don't
get cute uh fly swoops. Yeah, I like that, but
but read option with Bear.

Speaker 5 (44:59):
Just take it right at him, don't think around and
get cute in that red zone. You have a violent,
aggressive offensive front.

Speaker 2 (45:08):
Use it.

Speaker 5 (45:08):
You have very good blocking tight ends, very good running back,
and a very good running quarterback.

Speaker 2 (45:14):
That's your strength. Do it?

Speaker 4 (45:15):
Get Lynn Arthap, says g Man. Now, Jojo Phillips did
get injured. What's the severity of JoJo's injury?

Speaker 11 (45:23):
Well, I think you guys saw him on the sideline.
He had to sling, and so we're gonna evaluate a
little bit more. I mean, it looks like there's gonna
be some time, but I'm not sure exactly the details
of it.

Speaker 4 (45:34):
A couple other things here and I do I don't
think anything other from a clarity standpoint.

Speaker 1 (45:38):
We'll get to other sound later on.

Speaker 4 (45:40):
But I don't think any injury report has emerged since
the game. But one of the conversations we have been
having amongst the fan base and the media base is
what's up with the punt returners kick return game? Are
you moving forward with Tiger Bachmeyer punt returner and Cody
Hagen on kick returners duties.

Speaker 10 (46:02):
We're gonna kind of assess it and see what happens.

Speaker 11 (46:04):
I mean, I think this is a you know, I mean,
Tiger came in and had a great return, you know.

Speaker 10 (46:10):
So it's it's one of those things. There's always competition.

Speaker 11 (46:13):
We want to be put our guys in the best
position to help our our team.

Speaker 10 (46:17):
And so yeah, we're gonna review all of that. I
can't make that decision right now.

Speaker 4 (46:22):
Do you think we are you of the opinion that
something needs to ship? It needs to change that part returner.

Speaker 5 (46:28):
I didn't hear the interview, but it's being reported that
Kelly Poppinga mentioned that Tiger's going to be probably return
punts for now, at least.

Speaker 2 (46:38):
In the near future.

Speaker 1 (46:40):
You know that sounds like that was from coordinator's corner.
Did you get a quote on that one?

Speaker 2 (46:44):
I saw it on Twitter. I should be okay.

Speaker 6 (46:47):
So, but if that was a truly good confirmation, ben Uh,
that sounds like naughty house.

Speaker 1 (46:52):
Sounds like doghouse. You know.

Speaker 5 (46:54):
Well the two fumbles one you can forgive once you
fumble it twice. That's why say, yep, to give some
respection about what's going on.

Speaker 1 (47:03):
Yep, gotta gotta be better, no doubt about it.

Speaker 4 (47:05):
A couple of last things for Pilani before we uh
take a brief time out and hear from our sponsors.
What does it mean to you to have a defense
you can trust.

Speaker 11 (47:15):
Well, I really appreciate the leadership from the team and
and the guys on defense just always being positive. It
wasn't there wasn't anybody even getting frustrated on the defensive side.
It was just a lot of encouragement and and they
control what they control, you know. It was nice to
see them make big plays and and and get in
there and be really physical. This is a physical team Stanford.

(47:37):
You know that they want to You look at what
Andrew Lucking and Frank Wright and those guys want to do.
They want to they want to get the run going.
It was nice not not letting them do that, you know.
And I think towards the end they're just trying to
throw the ball a little bit, and that's where we
made some mistakes, like I don't know if you saw
some duplication on the pass rush and things like that,
and then you know, we weren't hit We weren't hitting

(48:00):
as clean as we as Jay would like. But overall, man,
I just really impressed with the defense, the leadership saw
from Jack and Glaska and Keanu and all them, and
Tanner just keeping the guys positive. And I'll beat the
game sixty minutes long, and some games defense needs to
do more than the offense and special teams and just
just help help that have that. We have guys that

(48:21):
are bought in and and don't hang their heads or
anything like that. So I'm really thankful for the leadership.

Speaker 4 (48:26):
You need that tenure, tried and true leadership, not only
in voice but in play. The best players lead by
example and then also inspire others through there. I think
the their their ability to to to communicate on and
off the football field. Final thing from Kilani Folatow sot

(48:49):
Dwala balled out, what strides have you seen from Flatow's.

Speaker 11 (48:53):
He's in his true sophomore year, so we knew that
he would help us out as a true freshman last
year and started to understand this scheme, understand the defense
and and Jay coaches the safeties for a reason.

Speaker 10 (49:03):
He likes being in that room.

Speaker 11 (49:05):
The safeties are kind of the cat, the quarterback of
the defense get things set up.

Speaker 10 (49:10):
I thought we had a really good.

Speaker 11 (49:12):
Rotation with with with Fola Tao and Raider and Tanner
and we the safety room is a deep room too.
There's a lot of talent there, so uh, you know,
we're able to dip into our depth a little bit.
But Man, just really impressed with how how they've been
able to understand what Jay wants from this defense, and
I think it's if they can just keep following Jay's leave,

(49:33):
the defense is going to do some really really special thing.

Speaker 1 (49:36):
G Man thoughts commentary as we wrap up this, uh
this segment with.

Speaker 5 (49:40):
I'm just fascinated with Foalatow. I think this was a
breakwater game for Falatow and established we're gonna look back
it's like, yeah, remember that Stanford game. That's where he
started to emerge. That's when he started to become a guy.
Maybe like the Isaiah Glaster against SMU game, That's when
it was like, yeah, this is this is some and
this is a guy that can do some things. I

(50:02):
think we're gonna look back at that like, yeah, when
we see him in the NFL. Maybe I'm jumping the
gun a little bit on that, but yeah, I think
it's a very positive development. But the safety play is
very intriguing. Man telling Alfree, highest graded safety from week
one didn't even get into the rotation. Yep, that's how
deep the safeties are. There's a lot of guys, Tommy

(50:26):
Prasses can play really good safety.

Speaker 2 (50:28):
No, let's just have you play nickel. You're fine there,
It's okay. We got this. We got Raider, we got Tannerwall,
we got foll of Towel.

Speaker 5 (50:35):
It's a very good deep position, and you can do
a lot of things with that middle man. Now that
you have the defensive tackles, you're solid at middle backer,
and the safeties man as deep, as talented as any
safety crew I've seen for a long time.

Speaker 2 (50:49):
That's a very very good framework to work around.

Speaker 4 (50:51):
Defensively, your two safeties, Raider, Demoni and Follatow ended up
picking off passes.

Speaker 1 (50:56):
Yeah, and this is a defense.

Speaker 4 (50:57):
That led the nation in takeaways year starting off the
right way. I know Week one versus Portland State didn't
get the takeaways you were looking for, but week two
took advantage of it. Can be why you get the
get the takeaways they're looking for versus ECU versus a
much more talented, much better thrower.

Speaker 1 (51:16):
They're at ECU, They're.

Speaker 2 (51:17):
Gonna have more opportunities, probably a.

Speaker 4 (51:19):
Lot more balls going through the air, no doubt about it.
This is the next test for this BYU defense. Do
they have any weak links on the back end. Can
they cover as well as they stopped the run? That's
what we're gonna find out versus ECU.

Speaker 5 (51:32):
After the bike's gonna make a play. That's my that's
my hot predictions. Going to do something against He's gonna
do something.

Speaker 2 (51:42):
You see.

Speaker 4 (51:43):
I like it, man, I like it. Let's go to break.
Let's get into a player profile on the flip side.
Number seventeen was brick ubiquitous, ubiquitous. He was everywhere. He
was omnipresent all over that field. Let's get to know
Jack Kelly a little bit better. Coming up next to
what were his thoughts on the Stanford game and where

(52:05):
the defense elevated their play how they bawled out for Brigham.
