the Australian NASCAR E Series and the Truck Series Championship.
We're ready to go here. I am Wesley Outland. As
I mentioned Dylan McDonald, I think he is probably gonna
pop in an hour late because of daylight savings time.

I think you forgot to set his clock in our
right because three point fifty I had to climb out
of bed in America. Nonetheless, it is nighttime in Australia
and we have Nigel Sedele joining me and Biggles Dean
Hopton also for production Championship night. Nigel, We're ready to

see what these trucks will do at Phoenix. What a
wild race we saw in the BMG Xfinity Series on Tuesday.
Brad Newman wins the championship. Can he continue this momentum
trend right now?

Moving into the final race here in the final four.

Good evening to you, Wesley, good evening day in the trailer,
bring you the pitches and good evenings everyone at home.
We're gonna be in for a cracking race heat tonight.
We've got four drivers. We've got two Southern Stars cars
with the forty three of Borg and then one ninety
four of Ryan Barber up against the X Series champion
Brad Newman and Jason Holdsworth as well. He's very strong
and these trucks have been looking for his first championship

as well, so we're in for it great not.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Now, remember Newman, Holdsworth, Borg and Barbara they're all locked
in to the Championship four. They don't have to win
the race if they could win the race at Sicson
on the cake, but they just got to be the
finishing guy ahead of their competition to lock up a
championship of one of those four drivers. Ladies and gentlemen,
we're not wasting no time here at the Phoenix Raceway.

Let's give you your starting lineup on the newly reconfigured
track and what do you know. Brad Newman fast qualifier
for LOBS Sports will start on the pole. Aaron Borg,
one of the Championship four, will be on the outside.
Weather conditions and everything down below will give you the
information of the race in the moment. Dave Douglas and
coot Ti dwe will make up ro number two. Zach

Kerr Ryan Barber will make up the third row Jason Holdsworth.
So four of the championship drivers are in the first
seven spots of the race. Jamie Davis will start eighth
on the outside, Tom Pritchard, Riley Curtis, Angus Lawford and
Project thirty six alongside with his teammate David Lawler will

start twelfth.

look at the race details there it is obviously it's
a one hundred and fifty lap race. We're thinking that
you could possibly make it on one stop with seventy
five laps on a fuel window, four sets of tires,
three attempts at a green white checker. We're out of

the lights. Green flag is out. The championship race is
on here in Phoenix. They didn't waste any time to
get this race started, Nigel. They're already working in turn
two to the back straight away.

He's really starting to struggle out there. What's nose is

Remember in the Truck Series on Thursday Night, there was
not stage like stage one of two like it's been

for the Tuesday program Tuesday Night. Obviously, Brad Newman won
the championship in that. But all the while, or can
lap number seven of one hundred and fifty and it's
one hundred and fifty green flag laps, chants at overtime,
three attempts at a green white checker. If need being,

purple and white entry down on the inside diving on him.

The next the centry going after Douglas tonight, trow he'll
clear him and go to third as they work back
to the line.

See Bithface Drava is in the Champanship race on Sunday
night for the A and C race at Homestead as well, Wesley.
Then we see those drivers in action as well as
we look on board, as well as we look at
the the guys up the fronts Brad Newman and Aaron
Borg both of them there. I think he had a
half a tenth difference in lat time at the moment.
But as we all know, the clean air in the
trucks and Phoenix is king, so Ad Newman will have

a little bit more of advantage at the moment because.

Holdsworth now making his way back through the field now
back up to eleven after that little mishap. Early have
been the biggest movie so far tonight, Wesley has been
Brendan Foochie's up twelve positions.

Around the mess, Jason Holdsworth again picking up rhythm after
hitting the wall with Coote Dow and the early going
as they make their way down the bank straight away.
Obviously there's a little inc and blink there for the
fifty two of Vegas. Lawford's right now the Championship four.

back into the Championship four in the top ten newman
in the league, Borgots second, that's the one in the
forty three. Y're on board now with Tom Richard. This
is for eighth spot, put Barber fifth and Holdsworth after

He's struggling at the moment, really's truck at the moment
because of the damage you got early with Jason Holdsworth.

Tom Frere is not burning spoons. There you go. So
what is Frear doing in the forty one? He's right
now climbing under the top five right now he's in
seventh position as we see now what battle going on?
But holds Worth and Choot Brandon Griffiths on the race track.

Look at that high line work for him as they
come down the backstretch now diving into three remember start
finished quickly approaching there it is as they hit the
dog leg. I see a lot of respect and patience
right now by these guys that maybe we didn't see
in the Infinity race early on in the race on

I think I think this might have a bit to

It's been an unlucky not for that eight truck as well.
He's been fast awakened the officials. He's been coming into

He wanted this championship last year.

He's he had connection issues season one championship I remember
in twenty twenty four of Season two Championship he also
had connection issues as whoa, he's really struggling in that
I car at the.

Moment watching him now go on the high side. That's
the thirty six again, that's Griffiths truck. Who Holdsworth right
there until they worked their way back down the turn one,
the dog leg turn one there pops into turn two,
the backstretch, very unique pit entrance there. You see the
entrance of pit lane on the back straight away. What

makes this track so unique? As they're working their way
down off the backstretch and to turn three, still Holdsworth
trying to get back into the top ten. He's the
man right now struggling the most. And you gotta wondered, Nigel,
how much damage is on the number eight Nitro truck
of Jason Holdsworth from hitting the wall not once but

twice in the first twenty laps of this race at Phoenix.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
I think there's a lot of damage there on that
front of that truck there, especially that on the right
hand side on up on the front. Eyes really struggling
with that truck. Is he s He's putting a lot
of wheel on that trying to get that into the corner.

Speaker 5 (13:15):
Oh tough for him.

He'll be hoping for a cause.

Speaker 3 (13:19):
Now maybe a lit'tle bit, that damage fixed and then
hopefully so if you can come back through the field.
But I think if he does stay green or he's
going to be struggling all night unfortunately in that eight truck.
The other thing I was going to say, Wesley is

us what your favorite moments of twenty twenty five.

Season and who do you think is going to win

I think one of my highlights.

This year brings me back to Gateway in the move
that Tom Frere did on Brad Newman to get the
victory at Gateway earlier.

It's certainly one of my highlights of the What's been
a great season here in the trucks.

What's a fun one for sure, Warrant let us know
your moment once again, this is the last race of
the season. I ain't a lot of angel I'm glad
it's the last race because I don't know if I
could continue getting up at four o'clock in the morning.
Because I told somebody, I told somebody the other day
I said, you know what, I said, Okay, at first

I got up at six am in the summer, and
then you guys had daylight savings time in Australia, right,
and so then I had to get up at five
o'clock in the morning, which I normally set my alarm
about a quarter or till. And then we had daylight
savings time this previous weekend on Sunday night in North

Carolina in the United States, So now you got to
get up at four o'clock in the morning. So three
forty five is when the alarm went off for that.
I think that's the reason why Dylan McDonald is still
getting his beauty sleep. Wake God, Dylan, I don't know
if you got the wake up pall or not, but nonetheless, no, listen,

I've enjoyed it though. It's been fun and we're ready
to decide he's going to be the champion here. Obviously,
we've got another championship race to decide for Sunday night.
That's gonna be at Homestead, Miami. But right now, all
eyes are watching the trucks and Nigel kin Newman go
for the for the trifectare, or go for at least
the Infinity truck sweeping. Is anybody ever done that before

in Australian Nascary sports.

Speaker 5 (15:24):
No, they haven't.

Speaker 4 (15:25):
He's the back to back champions so he'll be.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
Going for three championships in a row. You're going for
the hat trick if he does get the winds night
and we look at David Laura and and Lauda has
four minutes thirty minutes prepared and that truck, so he'd
be struggling to make it. We'll back out, not back
out there, but he'll be struggling the whole time, making
any earspacked in the race.

But he's still dropping down there.

Speaker 3 (15:45):
Holdsworth, Oh, gets up there close and yeah, David Lauda
has been a good season for him. He's got a
couple of good top ten finishes this year, massive improvement.
He's gonna better and better eat traits raight. So it's
great to see David and the project that he's six
car out there and hopefully we seem back next season
as well, as.

You said, trying to win another championship. Obviously doing a
phenomenal job right now. Brad Newman, Yeah, Brad Newman, board's
right there hanging with him though.

Aaron Bord got to give him props right, I mean,
he's right there in that second position. One wrong slip
and could get to capitalize on if there's still a
long way to go on this thing here.

That that that there is and Aaron bog will be
one there if he does get a caution, he will
be one to watch on these race starts. Didn't quite
get the stunt that he wanted there on the on
the opening lap, but once we get back onto if
we do get that yellow, look out for the forty
three truck, I think he'll be one to watch.

Yeah, you kind of mentioned Barber. He has the all
time starts at one hundred and seventy six tonight counting
tonight here at Phoenix, one hundred and seventy six career
starts Tonight got two wins, forty two top fives and
ninety five top tens. Obviously, leading up to the start
of this race, Brian Blundell right behind him at one

seventy four. Jason Holdsworth at one time was leading at
the all time lead list, but now he's fell back
to one seventy three. Stephen Williams won twenty six and
Tim Blundell with one twenty five. Tonight Brad Newman, by
the way, look anna win the championship. He picked up
his Infinity Championship of the BMGX series on Tuesday in

his one hundred and fifteen start, and right now career
starting one sixteen is looking good for the band of
the Lobbsey Sports number one and right now he is
clearly out in front. Here's the thing though, Nigel don't
have an opponents, doesn't have his teammate Jared Philsll helping
him like he does on the Tuesday series. Phil Cell

not lining up to race tonight, and obviously it's all
it's all Newman though showing his strengths of the number one.

I think this also does show that how the clean
air makes a massive difference here at Phoenix as well.
And just last Lef alone, he's doing about one to
two tenths of love quicker than Aaron Borg at the moment.
But all we need is that one cause, and there's
a caution that's going to come out. It will happen
in the next fifteen to twenty lamps as these try
to start get a little bit looser and start to
slide around a little bit, so we might see something

we may not as well, but the food spread out
of the moment. Just see what happens in the next
twenty to thirty laps.

Yeah, So basically you get a setup from them and
let them have at it and learn everybody's kind of
on the same level play field if you will.

Basically that's one hundred percent correct everyone, No matter what
setup shop you decide to use, it's all the playing
field and everybody then can work during the week during
the officials did and get a little practice and.

Speaker 5 (21:05):
Yeah, it works well for everybody.

end up being just a one stole price if we
do stay green because hath pH Cup series they predict
that Brad and even victory it is not, so we'll

to get around Aeron Borg for that second spot, and

Zach curR eats the wall. I don't wonder how much
damage is on the nexus swell Ford not much as
he reels back in Borg, but a big move down
there in turn three to try to go after the
second spot.

Over all this going on, you can't even see the
rear end of the number one truck, that's how big
of the lead he has right now.

He's watching two tens laps quickly.

For the rest of the foods, maybe the one to
watch the lad run Handy Mandy's ties them too light
and I might want.

Last race of the year. Right now, these guys doing
a phenomenal job binding their p's and q's. The three
truck bottle for second continues of most six seconds behind
the leader of Brad Newman. That's Aaron Board, Zach Kerr,
Dave Douglas going at it. Throw Barber in the top five.

(24:46):
Then you got Lamb Lawford, Freer, Davis Barber and Kude
Dowe back there in the top ten. As it stands,
if you're thinking about the manufacturers of for your top ten,
you've got three chevro Lakes by four Fords and three Toyotas.

(25:09):
But a problem for Tom Frere. The synergy number forty
one will trigger the caution for the first time in
this race on lap number forty seven. Here it is
coming off the front straight away and just losing it
below start finish. Just lost it.

West Congratulations obviously he's that Kerr and Tom Freer showing
strings there at the end. Somebody hanging with the one
of Brad Newman. But you know, I got a feel
in Brad Newman said, you know what, I'm looking at
the bigger picture here. I'm gonna win the championship. I
think there were some big changes that happened at the
end that made Newman fall back and say, Okay, I

don't need to I don't need to risk wrecking my
truck or getting in an accident. I'm looking at being
the champion. He done that. I had no idea. Now
is three years in a row that he's won the
obviously Australian NASCAR Nitro Truck Series title. But kudos to him.

He's won the Infinity and the BMG on Tuesday. He's
done this tonight and obviously we will see what he
can do at Homestead Miami in the Australian NASCAR E
Series Championship on Sunday. I want to say thank you
