For one more and Thursday night, we are ready to
go under the lights of course at Dixon Fowlers Stadium.
An amazing game is about to be taking place between
cross county rivals that has of course gone on for
close to over four decades, the renialed, the renewed rivalry

(06:41):
even before Clayton Cleveland. What's Garner and Clayton JV Tonight
Varsity tomorrow. Welcome to the penultimate game of the regular
season and the finale for JV Comets football at Nixon
Fowler Stadium. Hello, everybody, welcome to our broadcast coverage on

(07:03):
c r N. I am a Wesley outlet up top side,
as always, want to say thank you for everybody for
taking the time to join us. We're about ready to
get this thing started here in just a moment, Sorry, Kim,
I turned up the wrong volume.

Speaker 10 (07:25):
Kim.

Speaker 9 (07:25):
We should be good now We're ready ten minutes from
kickoff and obviously a big game between the Garner Trojans.
There are six and two Clayton JV Comets, who Ryan
Tomford have not played in over two weeks because of
buy and the forfeit to South Garner now seven zero

(07:47):
looks good on Max Preps and it was considered a win.
But they have been able to play. They're ready to
get back on the field and get ready to go
back after it. Obviously, their most recent game when they
played was a loss to the Southeast Rolley Bulldogs.

Speaker 11 (08:00):
I mean, they haven't played in a while, and you know,
last time now y're out on the field is a loss.
So you know, definitely it's gonna be a challenge. You know,
you you've been you know on the sideline for a
long time and watching other team play, so you know
definitely that this could be you know good to bring
out this you know energy of you know, you want
to play and you want to get you know, a
big win here tonight. But uh, you know, definitely not

(08:23):
playing for a while, you could be a little bit rusty.

Speaker 12 (08:25):
Jackie posey.

Speaker 9 (08:26):
It is so good to be able to see you
for another game of donning some new Comics football apparel.

Speaker 12 (08:32):
You got your own hoodie.

Speaker 9 (08:33):
You know you're happy. I am very happy happy.

Speaker 10 (08:35):
She loves she loves hoodies. She loved the hoodies. You
didn't you have a blue one that may end up missing?

Speaker 9 (08:41):
No, I don't think so. Yeah, all night. No, I'm
wearing it tomorrow night. Your takeup tonight's game. Obviously, Clayton
about ready to warm up final JP game of the season.
And we know how big Cleveland and Clayton is. We
also know the rivalries of over four decades between Garner
and Clayton.

Speaker 10 (08:57):
Yes, yes, very much.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
So.

Speaker 10 (08:59):
Arna was a big ri I allry with us when
we were at school. You know it was.

Speaker 9 (09:03):
It was Wes Johnson.

Speaker 10 (09:04):
But you know, whenever, whenever pulled out of victory. And
the last time we played, we didn't pull out of
victory either. Imagine that anyway. So there is a young
man on the Garner side that I will be pulling for.
His name is Chris. Do you remember when we did
the first time I helped you with the.

Speaker 12 (09:27):
Go ahead Jackie go in the first the.

Speaker 10 (09:29):
First time I did the I can't remember when we
did the pee wee games. Yes, yeah, the Bamber Chris.
I told you Chris was out here. Yes, yeah, Chris
is now on JV. He is JV Garner. I've known
him since he was knee high to a grasshopper, all right,
So it's it's good to see him out in your
playing to night.

Speaker 9 (09:48):
Let's check in as always with our All States sideline
reporter reminding you remember you're in good hands, common country
with All State First, a word from our sponsor, he said,
best man, when all eyes are on you, My eyes
are glued to the game. And if you didn't bund

(10:10):
to your home in.

Speaker 13 (10:10):
Auto insurance, we all of this, this could be tough
to tackle.

Speaker 9 (10:13):
So get all seventy five degrees today, sixty five right
now before sunset and kickoff and Clayton off a highway
seventy and good evening to you. Kim Winslow, ready to
rock and roll for garnering Clayton.

Speaker 14 (10:25):
Ma'am absolutely, Hey, just real quick, my went, are the
MIC's up a little bit? I've got my volume all
the way up and I can barely here. I think
it was the music volume that was a little loud, Okay,
but yeah, it is definitely a fall evening out here.
Like you said, it's beautiful better, Yeah, it's beautiful. Right now,
sun goes down, the temperature is gonna drop right along
with it, and that is fall football weather. Like you said,

(10:48):
I walked in tonight and I said something's different and
I realized, huh. JV's wearing blue jerseys tonsome, ain't it. Yes,
it's the first time they have worn their home jerseys.
They've been in in whites, whether they've and home or away,
So this is a little bit different for the comments
tonight here in their last game at home.

Speaker 9 (11:05):
Yeah, because all season long, Ryan home wore away Clayton.
Because of so many amazing players close to eighty on
the JV roster, they have.

Speaker 12 (11:13):
To wear white jerseys.

Speaker 9 (11:15):
It looks like they got enough numbers now or they'll
flip flop numbers on offense and defense. I wish somebody
would have given me the memo.

Speaker 14 (11:23):
And I don't know if roster's changed as a result,
but we are just gonna do our best a call.

Speaker 10 (11:28):
It's on the roster, that's right, Kim will do it.

Speaker 9 (11:30):
I got a feeling though, that some of the numbers
might be for offensive numbers defensive numbers.

Speaker 12 (11:35):
You see that a lot of college and NFL.

Speaker 9 (11:36):
Right, one guy might be number eleven on the offense,
one guy might be defense number eleven. We might be
seen the same thing here tonight, Ryan. But the cool
thing is is ever donning blue for their final home game.

Speaker 11 (11:46):
Yeah, it's nice for them to be wearing blue. And
you know, even if they do switch numbers and they've
got multiple numbers, it doesn't matter because they're all wearing
blue and it looks nice, and you know, that's definitely
what you want for the home finale.

Speaker 9 (12:00):
Well, we're about ready to get started with opening ceremonies
here in just a moment, So I gotta get ready
to kill the music, Jackie, what do you think we're
gonna be watching here tonight between these teams? Obviously?

Speaker 10 (12:11):
Well, if I'm not mistaken, Clayton is undefeated right now.
So the lost one conference game, one conference game, Okay,
so i'd like to I'd still like to see him
come out. I hope it's a really good close game.
I hope it's not something that's, you know, a blowout.

Speaker 6 (12:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (12:25):
I think it'll be fun to see what happens when
all of this obviously takes place, and hopefully that will
be what goes on. We're about ready to go down
to the field and get things started with opening ceremonies
as it is omost go time here at Nixon Fowlers Stadium.

(12:52):
Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to Nixon Fowlers Stadium.
The home of your Clayton comments. Tonight is the final
game of the home season for the jv A. Donning
blue and white, this evening they will be taking on

(13:16):
the Garner Trojans from Wake County. Ladies and gentlemen, at
this time, if you please rise, active and retired military,
render a hand salute as we pause for the playing
of our national anthema. You like that morning, you like that?

Speaker 10 (14:00):
In speaking.

Speaker 15 (14:21):
Scream in.

Speaker 9 (15:20):
Ladies and gentlemen, that national anthem, and was in honor
of Ace freely from the original band member kiss as
his rendition of the national anthem, God speed to one
of the greats, the Spaceman. Ladies and gentlemen, It is time.
Are you ready? The captains will meet for the coin

(15:43):
toss and we will be ready to introduce your JAV
comments for the final time here on the turf at
Nixon Fowlers Stadium in just a moment, all right, So
opening ceremonies about ready coming in Kim. What is the
mindset obviously of the JV Combats. They haven't played one
in two weeks, coming off of a loss. They're only

(16:06):
conference loss, their only game loss. What's the Southeast Raleigh
right and now they're sitting at six and one. Garner
obviously at six and two, there's a lot of implications
on the line, right there's a chance to lock up
either co conference or a conference championship. Obviously Southeast Raleigh
JV the only team that's undefeated, but obviously we hype

(16:29):
up a little bit of the JV conference title that's
up for grabs. But there's really more followed in varsity
for sure.

Speaker 14 (16:35):
Yeah, absolutely there's more on the line there. They've actually
not played for three weeks, right, even the week before
the bye week, South Garner had to forfeit due to
not enough players available to play. So this team has
I'm sure one they're hungry to be out there, and two,
you know, you never know. It's almost kind of like
the first game of the season. Let's see if they

(16:56):
can revert back to where they left off before or
the bye week happens. And I'm sure they know they're
six and one, they know they want to end this
season as best as they can. And here come to Comets.

Speaker 9 (17:13):
For the final time of the twenty twenty five season.
Kim back down to you.

Speaker 14 (17:19):
I was just gonna say on the coin toss comments
won the coin toss. They did defer to the second half,
so Garner will get the opening kickoff.

Speaker 9 (17:29):
I was just gonna say, Jackie, I know you haven't
been able to make many games, right, I think, what
is this your fourth game this year? Maybe more JV
than varsity.

Speaker 10 (17:37):
This season flew by crazy, So it seems like yesterday
we were it was a it was an opening game.

Speaker 9 (17:43):
Yeah, Ryan, you've enjoyed this man, been fun season, your
rookie year. That slap that rookie stripe off your back, right,
I mean we talk about that in racing. Uh, you've
done a phenomenal job. You've enjoyed working with you in
the booth, the weather, in the on the sideline, smart
coach will focus on the clock. Tonight always great sea
Mark and we're not ready to get in. This game
started here in a matter of moments, the game between

(18:10):
Clayton and Corner obviously JV Tonight and Ryan, how excited
are they are? You field it for them to get
back on the field, right, they played in weeks.

Speaker 11 (18:19):
Yeah, they haven't played in weeks and it's you know,
good to see them back out on the field and
you know they're they're about to get this kickoff started here,
so you know, hopefully they can get a good stop
here on this first drive and you know, get that
energy back in their team that you know they haven't
felt in a while.

Speaker 9 (18:35):
Hope you're strapped in on your radio dial eighty seven
point nine FM anywhere at we are Serin dot com
and Corner will receive the football. As Kim mentioned, Clayton,
we'll kick it off to the Trojans. Let's set the
stage for you. The Garner Trojans of the awaye squad.
They're wearing blue game pants, white jerseys with the little

(18:56):
yellow gold blue blue numbers, gold white jerseys, blue helmets,
and then of course the Comets a donning blue for
JV for the first time this year. Kick off home
finale here at Nixon Foler for the JV Comets. In
this game is underway. They will play ten minute quarters.
I'll make the game go buy faster. Somebody lost their helmet. No,
actually no, I'm sorry. He's got one of them skull

(19:17):
gear things like the Guardian cap on the Guardian cap
of Tyler Moy Moy and Tyler Moy with a Guardian cap.

Speaker 12 (19:24):
I thought for a second that was his hair.

Speaker 10 (19:26):
I really got Look, I'm looking through the iPad and
I'm like, we don't have a helmet.

Speaker 16 (19:29):
Ie.

Speaker 9 (19:30):
That's right, I'm telling you. I thought for a second
there he lost his helmet. But it was a skull cap,
a guardian cap as you call it, right, Yep. It's
a good way to use your skull.

Speaker 11 (19:39):
Yeah, And he got a decent return there. A little
got to about the twenty nine yard line and Gardner
will start their first possession.

Speaker 9 (19:47):
Exactly right first and ten ball on the twenty nine.
By the way, if you go to the Community Radio
Network Facebook page Garner Now Motion Movement for Community Ready
Network Facebook, we have the live stream video stream up.
I think Huddle's go an issue. They've been talking about
Huddle having problems fan Huddle. I think they're trying to
get it fixed. But obviously we are broadcasting on the
Facebook as well. So already about a minute gone here,

(20:11):
great crowd on an autumn fall night here at Nixon
Fowler Stadium, just getting started. By the way, they will
play four ten minute quarters. I'll make the game go
buy a lot quicker, believe it or not, as we
had done a second in ten Now Jackie's Garner's offense struggling.
Clayton's defense doing phenomenal. They're ready to get back to it.
And I think I spoke too soon. Number seventeen running

(20:32):
the football to be Trea Savory, the wide receiver, will
push it for about three yard shive a first down, Yeah,
maybe four.

Speaker 11 (20:41):
They didn't get anything on that first possession first play there,
so you know, they went a little bit backwards and
you know, a decent game there on third down to
make it third and four, So Gardner's hoping to get
a first down here.

Speaker 17 (20:54):
They just need four to get that first.

Speaker 9 (20:56):
Yeah, gotta make a defensive stop obviously. As now we'll
settle in a third and four. By the way, lightstick
saw Donning on the sideline. Now, something new that we've
got recently. Recently at homecoming South Guardia, they used tom
but there's.

Speaker 12 (21:08):
A catch made.

Speaker 9 (21:08):
Number four Sweeten coverage stops some number five in the
backfield running up, Lavarius Richard said, making the hit, and
just like that, I think it's gonna be a three
and out here. Gardner's not gonna have to punt, yeah,
I mean they're gonna go for it.

Speaker 17 (21:24):
Actually, fourth and two going for it here.

Speaker 12 (21:28):
Filling a little foggy here in the early going.

Speaker 9 (21:30):
As Jackie said already about uh, two minutes gone here,
hopefully Clayton does not jump off sides on offense, uh,
and the helping Garner get a first down on the
defensive side of things, and something that Clayton has struggled
with on GV and Varsity alone on a fourth down
or third down to they hold their line, they're doing great,
and that was exactly what they were trying to do.

(21:52):
They were trying to cause Clayton to draw off sides.
Clayton says, We're not doing it. They got to take
a time out here.

Speaker 11 (21:57):
Yeah, they're using an early time out here in the game,
you know, trying to draw Clayton off sides. But now
they're probably gonna have to bring out their punt team
here on fourth and two.

Speaker 17 (22:08):
So yeah, good, good three and out for Clayton.

Speaker 9 (22:11):
Here, Cam back down at you for ad All State
sideline report. Obviously, I think that was something that the
coach of Garner was trying to do, was try to
get Clayton to draw off side, something we've seen Clayton
jav and Varsity struggle with this year.

Speaker 14 (22:23):
Yeah, I mean it's worth a try. For them there.
There was absolutely no way they were actually going to
go for that in the first series of the game.
That's why I automatically walked to this end of the field.
I knew they were trying to draw them off sides,
but that's one of the things, especially when a team
hasn't played for three weeks. Sure, sure those are the
kind of penalties that you can draw from a team.
Comments were disciplined, and they're going to get the ball.

Speaker 9 (22:44):
Ready to see what goes on here? Is it's a
high snap, they'll punt it. It'll go up in the air,
high drops down to around the thirty five yard line.
Now Bob's back towards the school end zone. That'll be
great territory for Clayton to come out of the thirty
five yard line area. Clayton is ready to roll and
the Jackie. They're about ready to begin their first series
here and obviously a great three and out of the

(23:06):
on Garner stopping them defensively.

Speaker 10 (23:09):
Yes, Clayton was able to defensively stoping all. I see
what offense could do. I was kind of worried, being
off three weeks what it was going to do to me.

Speaker 9 (23:16):
They're excited to get back on the field again, right,
I mean, Ryan, I think they're tired of hitting each other.

Speaker 11 (23:21):
Yeah, I mean you don't ready to take on an
opponent when you sit on the sideline for so long.
You just want to be out there on the field
and you know, getting reps against an opposing team.

Speaker 9 (23:30):
And first and ten Clayton up the middle as that
was Bagley with a handoff and they finally blow the
whistle number twenty two carrying the football that is I
believe Brighton Smith Braylan Smith a pickup of two second
and eight coming up.

Speaker 11 (23:50):
Yeah, second in the here for Clayton. They didn't get
too much yards there. They gave them a little bit
of forward progress and snap here, run right up the
middle and he'll get a few yards there.

Speaker 17 (24:03):
He'll get about four or five.

Speaker 9 (24:05):
Yeah, a lot of Ford movement right there, and that
worked in favor of the Comets to somehow drive the football.
And that's exactly what they did want to do. Well,
Jackie on your opening series, and if you're Clayton, you
can get on the board here quickly for your finale
for JV at Nixon Fowler here.

Speaker 10 (24:23):
Yes, that's exactly what they need to do. Push it up,
get the first down going down and good touch.

Speaker 9 (24:27):
Now, by the way, as I mentioned, comments are donning
the home color something they haven't wore all year, blue
game jerseys instead of what there's a matching option to
the left. He's got rid of the run and they're
gonna gang up on him and drop him. A flee
flicker Toes to Raffael Thompson right up the middle of
the away sideline. He found a great gap, went for

(24:47):
the run and the big first down for the Comets.

Speaker 12 (24:49):
By the way, that's presented by you that we'll exterior
your services.

Speaker 14 (24:52):
Yeah, that was just a good fake by the quarterback,
act like he was handing off to the running back,
came around and just a little toss to the left,
plenty of yards for the first down.

Speaker 9 (25:03):
Yeah, that worked out perfectly. The pitch from Baggley Eli
Bagley to Thompson down a low snap, fire throw catch
incomplete two man coverage?

Speaker 12 (25:12):
Was there? No flags are thrown.

Speaker 9 (25:15):
Intended for the deuce of William Shawn incomplete?

Speaker 11 (25:19):
Yeah, it was a you know, the first the real
passing at time that we've seen Clayton do all game,
and you know it comes up as an incomplete. But
you know that's the sort of thing you need to
start getting, you know, into your offenses is passing and
rushing and you know, get the both of those working
and that you know that will probably be you know,
keys to Clayton winning this game of if they can

(25:41):
get both work in the they'll definitely win.

Speaker 9 (25:43):
Low snap, it's a fake from Smith, fake ghost. Now Baggley.
Baggley goes to Thompson. I think he might have got
back Jackie to the line of scrimmage. He might have
lost a yard in front of line.

Speaker 10 (25:55):
I think I think he gained maybe one a little more.

Speaker 9 (26:00):
They're gonna keep it right at the line, right here
in front of me. It around the forty seven. They
are now by the way in Trojan's territory. So that's
a good thing. It'll be a third and ten on
the forty seven. Understanding somebody had an equipment failure. Corner
player going to the sideline, number twenty of Jason Prophet

(26:23):
now now third and ten already millwhile there you go.
You wanted to do it to Clayton, but Insta Garner's
the one that jumped early. Yeah, it's a five yard
penalty move. Clayton up now, but a third and five.

Speaker 11 (26:37):
Gardner was a little bit too anxious there, and you
don't wanted to get them on third and ten, and
now it leads to a third and five.

Speaker 17 (26:43):
It's a man king.

Speaker 14 (26:44):
I think everybody knew the napcount except the center.

Speaker 9 (26:47):
That's exactly right. The mistake that they wanted Clayton to
make Garner it actually happened all when we got flags
flying again. I think the referees are gonna call offsides.
I'm coaching up the encroachment on the on the comets.
That's five four five back, if you will, So we

(27:09):
go back now to a third and two. By the way,
the referees for tonight's game is from the Trigle Football Association.
Steve McNeil obviously is the regional supervisor. Officials of tonight's
game will be introduced in just a moment. As right now,
it is a third and ten Bagley open man fires,
can you catch him?

Speaker 12 (27:27):
No way overthrown?

Speaker 9 (27:29):
It is incomplete. Referee tonight is Gary Wiley, umpire is
Gregory Hines, headlinesman is William Billy Vick, Line judge is
Sam Fassola, and the back judge is Daniel Ruder. This
game is sanctioned by again the referees of the Trigle
Football Officials Association, the Greater News River for A Conference

(27:50):
seven A Conference, and the North Carolina High School Athletic Association.
Already midway through in the first corner, Bagley on a
fourth and tens knowing home and complete turnover on downs
Trojans get it.

Speaker 11 (28:03):
Back, Yeah to turnovers a you know, but both teams here,
no one, no one getting u both going on fourth
down here and you know, trying trying to get not
bringing their pun teams out so far, Jackie.

Speaker 9 (28:18):
Obviously not the way you want to start your opening series.
We saw some movement with the football, but then all
of a sudden things kind of figured out went stale. Uh,
this is a really good team. I think this is
the battle for second place, right Clayton is six and one,
Garners six and two. Southeast.

Speaker 12 (28:33):
Rawley's got a chance to try to lock.

Speaker 9 (28:35):
Up the JV conference football title or could be co champions,
but Clayton's got to take care of tonight's game and
they're struggling. Sweep around the corner, thought we saw holding,
but instead Nathaniel bell Is gonna get a big run
up the field and there is no flags on the play.
Actually that'll count for the Trojans.

Speaker 11 (28:52):
Yeah, that was a nice run out out to the
you know, the right side. He ran up the up
the sideline. Now got a great game to about the
thirty yard line. That so, you know, good, good game
there on first down, h.

Speaker 9 (29:07):
Jackie, I'll tell you what. That's exactly what Clayton did
not need to see. Quickly, Trojans in their territory. But
the defense quickly stopped number fifty four on the big
tackle there for the Comets defense, and that was, of course,
I believe shake Valerzano. Valserano brings him down. Yeah, Foulserano

(29:29):
making the stump blue jerseys for the Comets here tonight
for their JV finale for the regular season. Is they
go up the middle seventeen running the football that is
Dmitria Savory again and a little run here, a little
run there. Find Now it's a pickup of five. It's
a thirty eight coming up ball on the thirty.

Speaker 11 (29:50):
Yeah, they had that loss on first down, so you
know they just got a little bit more.

Speaker 17 (29:56):
There.

Speaker 11 (29:56):
But you know it's a long third down here, so
you know a lot of yards that Gardner will need
to pick up here.

Speaker 9 (30:03):
Gonna be a good one tomorrow at night, don't forget.
Coverage begins at six point fifteen with fire pre game
kickoff and coaches corner as right now, another catch made
number one on the far right side of the field.
That was Nolan klein Kleinerd. Nolan Kleinerd catching the football
and it'll set up now with a fourth and short

(30:24):
for the Trojans. Do you go out again, Jackie? Do
you feel like you do? Fourth and one? Ball at
the oh? Yeah, twenty three heading into the red zone
and I'm gonna try to find a way to get
that one yard. If you're the Trojans second time on
a fourth down, they will go fourth, fourth and one.
Comet Steve Fit's got to step up in a big way.
Will they get him? No, they will not first down anymore.

(30:47):
Run the football number twenty. That is Jase Profit, the
freshman defensive back QB running the football, move the chains.

Speaker 12 (30:55):
It's the first in the red zone for the Trojans here.

Speaker 11 (30:57):
Now, yeah, this first time we're you go a team,
you know, in the run zone, red zone and you
know we haven't seen Gardner, I believe do a passing attempt.

Speaker 17 (31:07):
So you don't.

Speaker 11 (31:08):
They'll probably run it again, and you know Clayton's you know,
eventually gotta be ready for a.

Speaker 9 (31:13):
Run first in ten fake option by thirty three, twenty runs,
the football profit goes down, and I think we're gonna
see face mask. We might see a little frustration here
number four Jayden Nicks on the offense game.

Speaker 14 (31:29):
Yes, it was on the offense. Absolutely.

Speaker 9 (31:30):
I think we're gonna have a facemac on face mask
on the Trojans here. Well, wait to see what the
official says. The white hat is making the call here,
dead ball face mask, and it is on the Trojans.
There you go, and that's a big penalty obviously that
is from the line of scrimmage back fifteen yards.

Speaker 11 (31:51):
Yeah, so that's definitely, you know, in favor, in favor
of Clayton. You know, it just seemed like Gardner had
all the momentum on that drive and you know this finally,
you know, a chance for them.

Speaker 17 (32:03):
Now they're far back on first down two in.

Speaker 9 (32:06):
My apologies, is actually a spot foul, right, So it's
where the spot of the face mask was and then
you back them up fifteen yards, and that's what they're
gonna do. They're gonna back them up from the spot
of the face mask fifteen yards. So it will now
be first in hell twenty five. I guess, yeah, first
and twenty ball on the twenty three first in twenty

(32:29):
fires one far right of the end zone. And it
is incomplete intended for number eleven of Christopher Williams on
the far right pylon here at Nixon Fowler, and it
is a flag of the play. Though we got a flag.
He threw a flag when the quarterback launched the football.
We got a penalty, a dead ball rough in the passer. Wow, Jackie,

(32:55):
these penalties are not helping Clayton, right. I mean, one
minute it's in favor of the next minute you're seeing
struggle and get penalized and you're back in favor for
Garner again.

Speaker 10 (33:04):
Yeah. You just gotta just Clayton, gotta get their head
back in it.

Speaker 14 (33:08):
You remember, that's not an automatic first down in high
school football, so they will Oh they're calling a first down.

Speaker 9 (33:16):
Yeah, it was a first down, Kim when the penalty happened.
So I'm from the yards. I'm confused. Profit up the middle,
that's Jace Prophet, the freshman player right up the middle,
and maybe.

Speaker 14 (33:29):
I'm thinking of just pass interference, but I thought personal
foul was the same.

Speaker 9 (33:36):
So that would have been what ten yards from the
from the line of scrimmage, maybe with a penalty or
second in three ball on the five, second and three
ball on the five. Let's see you if the Trojans
punch it in here in the early going right up
the middle, they will d meet Tria Savor puts it

(34:01):
in for Garner and the Trojans JV Squad Ryan they
strike first.

Speaker 11 (34:08):
Yeah, they get on the board first, and you know,
now Clayton has got to come out and do the
same thing. You know, get a drive going, a score
in the end zone to you know, get the game tied.
But you know, we see the extra point team coming
out here for Gardner.

Speaker 18 (34:25):
Fractions of a secate can be the difference between victory
and defeat at the finish line. America's favorite bull ring
is back in action for a summer.

but amidst the hustle, we see you conquer it all.

Speaker 12 (35:06):
And that Scooter's copy.

Speaker 19 (35:07):
We believe it's the little wins that deserve some big
moments of joy. So go on, embrace that tiny triumph
you master Parallel Arthur. You take that big to be
lat and savor the sweet taste of success.

Speaker 10 (35:19):
Scooter's copy.

Speaker 9 (35:20):
You didn't just order it, you earned it. He went
first and ten becomes a touchdown. Obviously. Now I had
a bluetooth on. That's what you heard broadcast go over
the go over the PA system. If that's what you're wondering,
what happened, I'm spaking.

Speaker 12 (35:38):
Sure we had audio.

Speaker 9 (35:39):
I was speaking. Sure we had audio on our Facebook stream,
and we do so. One thirty three left to go
here in the first quarter. Came back down to you.

Speaker 12 (35:46):
First, scre and recap Trojans on the board.

Speaker 10 (35:48):
First, uh by.

Speaker 9 (35:50):
The way blocked pat by Clayton. It's six zero and
here come the Trojans ready to fire it back to
the forty nine twenty one got dead on it. That
was great work by lucas Cottwell you're taking the first
score of the series.

Speaker 14 (36:06):
Yeah, well, Garner comment defense held garnered to the you know,
three and out on their first possession. This time, Commets,
you know, had a turnover and downs on the Garner
forty seven yard line and uh, you know, penalties take
it and penalties give away like they were. They had
both They had a personal fil Commets had a personal foul.

(36:26):
Garner was able to put it in the end zone.
Now it's time for the comments to answer, and we'll
have again the quarterback field position.

Speaker 9 (36:31):
Great field position is now we bring in obviously, as
you said, the other quarterback number six, sub Janan Jones.
Now he lost his helmet. Somebody did lose their helmet
that time.

Speaker 20 (36:45):
That was.

Speaker 14 (36:47):
But I think it just came loose or London to that.
So he will have to come to the sideline for
a play.

Speaker 9 (36:52):
Yes, and London Golden losing his helmet. That's just to
be on the sideline, Ryan to just check see if
he's okay, helmet's not broken. You get to go back
out next play.

Speaker 11 (37:02):
So yeah, just bringing to this highline for tecksas you know,
we've got a second and long here for Clayton.

Speaker 9 (37:08):
Problem is they lost yards right second and fourteen up
the middle. Let's see what goes on now least they're
gonna try to fire back to go to the line
of scrimmage. Number twenty two. Braylan Smith, the freshman running
the football and Jackie. I think that's a yard shy
maybe of getting back to the first down markers or
to the line of scrimmage. And it's a third and
eleven coming up. Thirty nine.

Speaker 10 (37:30):
Yeah, I was gonna say they got right up. They
got a yard up.

Speaker 9 (37:33):
Past the Yeah, yeah, I see it. Updated now thirty
nine and under a minute excuse me, under a minute
left to go here in the in the first quarter.
This game's going by quick, a ten minute time limit.
Ryan makes this game go by even faster. You want
to get as many points as you can. Sweep around
the right side and he's got room to run driving
pushing Brayland Smith. Move those chains comets first and ten

(37:57):
and they're heading off so into the w energy right
now zone. Kim wins left. Want to drive by Braylin
Smith and the double deuce of Clayton.

Speaker 14 (38:07):
He kicked it to the outside and he his wide
receivers were blocking sealing off that edge and he was
able to get down the sideline for that. Uh was
it thirty eight yard run?

Speaker 9 (38:16):
And now we got flying Kim. We've got flags flying
on the field here, dead ball and off sides on Clayton. Man,
this is so frustrating because you know, Jackie, you get
a big play, you get a you get in the
red zone, and then you make a mistake and you
get out of the red zone first and ten on

(38:37):
the twenty seven here.

Speaker 10 (38:39):
Well, I got my they got my headset a half
off and half off and I don't I don't.

Speaker 14 (38:42):
Yeah, let's make the cloth signal because I.

Speaker 10 (38:44):
Don't want to misquote Mark, but he said they were
calling off side on Clayton.

Speaker 21 (38:48):
But then there were twelve other people on the field
for garner off.

Speaker 14 (38:53):
Another official that came running over. So they are having
a conversation. So let's see what the final determination is.

Speaker 9 (38:59):
Yeah, I'm sorry, Cam. I thought they had already made
that call and he was telling them to be before.
That was actually the first showing the signals. So we'll
see here flag has waved off. The penalty flag has
waved off, so no flag on the play.

Speaker 22 (39:11):
That's good for Clayton, right there, Ryan, Yeah, I mean
they did make a penalty call there, you know, as
soon as you know the flag was thrown and you
know they did, you know, show a signal.

Speaker 17 (39:23):
But then they called the flag off, and that's good
for Clayton.

Speaker 9 (39:27):
That is great for the comments says we close in
on twenty seconds left and I think there's a time out.
We'll take one with them real quickly.

Speaker 23 (39:34):

The time is now, all right, welcome back here again.
Coverage of Comets football JV Tonight Varsity Tomorrow. Our amazing
crew will be here with us again. We look forward
to bringing it to you. Jackie Posey will be there
on the camera, Robbie Morele, Kim Winslow on the sideline,
Robbie Morel, Mark Coach myself, and we're gonna be in
the grand stands tomorrow night. They ain't got no room

(40:23):
in the booth, so we'll be set up on the
away side Trojan Stadium tomorrow night. And by the way,
by requests, we're gonna upload the game later on our
CRN YouTube feed as well. Twenty point four seconds left
in the first quarter, Comets driving low snap. Jayden Jones
had to get on the ball after it was on

(40:44):
the turf. That took all of the momentum away right
there because of that low snap going to the quarterback.

Speaker 14 (40:50):
Yeah, and if you watch, they've had multiple low snaps
where he's had to, yes, go low, and that does
throw off the timing. He's been able to get it
so far and get it off to was running back
this time. Not so instead they lose what is about
four yards or so?

Speaker 9 (41:05):
Another frustrated right three Jackie, you make him play, you
move up the field, you do well, then you get
a penalty or you make a mistake like a low
snap and into the first corner, six zero corner up
in front, Jackie, you're taking the first ten minutes.

Speaker 10 (41:20):
First ten minutes. Garner was able to come out and
get a touchdown. But Clayton's Clayton's charging back.

Speaker 9 (41:27):
Ryan, what you got man?

Speaker 17 (41:29):
Yeah, I mean Clayton.

Speaker 11 (41:29):
You know, they've had a little bit of momentum, you know,
being able to create drives, but not able to get
at the end zone yet. So they just need to
find a way to go to the end zone, and
you know, good points on the board.

Speaker 9 (41:41):
Stay with us. The second quarter coming up next from
Nixon Fowlers Stadium. This is Commons Football on CRM.

Speaker 16 (41:51):
I'm a teenage girl.

Speaker 24 (41:53):
My bff Becky Texas says she's kiss Johnny. Well that's
a problem because I like Johnny. Yeah, I'm emotionally compromising. Whoops,
I'm all omg. Becky's not even hot. And if you've
got cut rate insurance, you can be paying for this yourself.
So get all State.

Speaker 16 (42:12):
You can save money and be better protected from mayhem
like me.

Speaker 6 (42:16):
Dollar for dollar. Nobody protects you from mayhem like all State.

Speaker 9 (42:20):
Tom second corner about ready together away, Welcome back, to
our coverage here from Dick Fowler Stadium, about to put
another ten minutes on the clock. Second and thirteen, second quarter,
Jackie Posey, Ryan Tomford Westley outland of the broadcast booth.
Kim Winslow is our all state here, you all state
sideline reporter and right now corner that it's not a

(42:42):
big lead, Jackie. It is only six to zero, but
they are in the lead. Clayton's got a score here.

Speaker 10 (42:50):
Yeah, I'm not gonna saying before we went to break,
you know, Clayton has to push.

Speaker 9 (42:58):
Got a push and push in a big way if
you will. Obviously, gotta run that football, Ryan, gotta find
a way to run it right up the middle. They
are heading their way into the red zone, by the way,
the red zone presented by w Energy. They got in
the red zone, they got out of the red zone.
Penalty's mistakes May third and ten ball on the twenty two.
Big offensive push by Brayland Smith. He's in the backfield

(43:21):
again alongside Jayden Jones, and we now set in a
third and two varsity tomorrow night. By the way, it
should be a good one. Make sure you join us
up the middle. Nice run, but not enough that's number
three running the football of Rafael Thompson. It's gonna be
about a fourth and three. Do you go for it?

(43:42):
What do you think? Ryan?

Speaker 17 (43:44):
Yeah, you probably want to go for it.

Speaker 9 (43:46):
Mark emphatically y.

Speaker 14 (43:50):
On Garner's forty seven yard line. They will go forward
on the ten yard or fifteen yard line.

Speaker 9 (43:55):
And they are gonna go for it a fourth and
three on the left hash mark on the Comet side.
Four three, just about a minute, twelve seconds gone here
low snap go back now and Chadwick gets away from one,
man gets away from two, and somehow Garner stops him short,
could not get to the first down marker. It is
turnover on downs. Shades of what happened to Clayton Jackie

(44:18):
about the same place, same time. Let's go around for
Comets football. Wow, I.

Speaker 10 (44:29):
Don't I don't even I don't even know what to say.
You got the push all the way down, but you
just can't you can't complete it.

Speaker 14 (44:36):
Yeah, you want to be able to finish it with
some points the benefit This time it's at least a
little bit deeper. Last time they gave it back at
the Garner forty seven. Now it is the Garner fifteen.
See if the common defense can can make a stop.

Speaker 9 (44:48):
This is frustrating though, right I can't down there, Kim.
Absolutely the third series cannot get anything out of it.
If you're Clayton, Corner has now opened the door again
and they got room to run. Number four mistackles breaking
one man to beat finally brings him down. Could it
be a could it be a face mask or horse caller?
I'm wondering penalty on the play. It threw in right

(45:09):
around the time the Comets defender was bringing down number
four for the Trojans of Jalen Jossy.

Speaker 14 (45:16):
Yeah, I couldn't see the front side. He definitely had
his arm wrapped on the back of his neck and
brought him down it by the head.

Speaker 9 (45:22):
It is the face mask him.

Speaker 14 (45:23):
Yeah, I was gonna say I couldn't see the front side,
so I don't know if he got a hand on
the face mask or not.

Speaker 9 (45:28):
But yeah, this three yards Trojans. Thank you, Kim all
State sideline report. I noticed Ryan right before our defender
was ready to bring him down Number four. Josie did
catch a hand to the to the helmet and obviously
face mask called. So this does not help Garner or
it doesn't help Clayton anymore. Gorner gets another nice mulligan,

(45:51):
if you will, and move him up ten yards now.
Second and ten will now become about a second and three. No, no, no,
I'm sorry, gonna be about a second six a pickup
of four and that's after the face mask Penaltygue.

Speaker 11 (46:04):
Yeah, and you don't now we see, you know, Gardner here,
they've done two you know, decent runs here, and you
know they're they're catching a little bit momentum, and you
know it seems like, you know, Clayton's defense are allowing
a few gaps to allow some of these run.

Speaker 17 (46:19):
Big runs happen.

Speaker 9 (46:21):
Up the middle. Seventeen running the football this time he'll
now push it. That's Demetrious Savory and Savary now moving
the chains for Garner. We'll pause quickly for station identification.
This is CRN and this is Commets Football.

Speaker 1 (46:46):
This is the Community Radio Network w CRN eight seven
point nine FM. Clayton Connor, Smithfield, North Carolina, proud to
be in the USA were cr.

Speaker 9 (47:01):
And far through left pylon of the end zone on
the seventy side. Great coverage on the defense. It is incomplete,
and of course the Dukes William Shaw stomping that from
being a touchdown in a two score lead, if you will.

Speaker 11 (47:19):
For corner Ryan, yeah, I mean that was a depfro.
You know, would have been probably called around that five
yard line. So you know, great job by Kleton's defense
to not let that be a score. And you know, no,
it's a second and ten here, second.

Speaker 9 (47:33):
And ten ball now on the thirty five high snap
goes to the cornerback quarterback? Is it right up again?
Number four? That again Jalen Jossy, sophomore, pick up a couple.
Let's go down with a third and nine here.

Speaker 14 (47:51):
Number thirty four on the carry.

Speaker 9 (47:56):
And that is Nathaniel Bell, the running back freshman. Actually
I think I said number for my apologies, it's actually
Bell that ran the football.

Speaker 14 (48:02):
Again. It's always hard when those jerseys getting bunched up,
and I have a hard enough time seeing down here.
I don't know how y'all see them up there.

Speaker 9 (48:09):
At least the colors actually are not white on white
like they've been a couple of games.

Speaker 14 (48:13):
Oh my gosh, that South garner was hard. Yep.

Speaker 9 (48:15):
I think Laundry's move and I think it's on the Trojans.
All sides on Garner back them up five yards third
and nine, when I'll become about a third and thirteen.

Speaker 17 (48:28):
Third and fourth fourteen there, So in actual.

Speaker 9 (48:32):
Yard math is approximate right right now?

Speaker 11 (48:35):
Yeah, well I used to be a math major, so
well you're a math major, so I should be good
at math.

Speaker 17 (48:43):
But uh, third and fourteen.

Speaker 9 (48:45):
Here, third and fourteen fires, same players last time, and
that's gonna be pass interference from all sides of the
field here, and I think this time we are going
to be called for Wow.

Speaker 14 (49:01):
He hopped up and threw his hands up like what
I do, except for the fact that he tackled him
before the ball entire Yeah, I think that was probably
one of the most obvious pass interferences we've seen.

Speaker 9 (49:11):
Save and Rogers called for pass interference for the JV
Comets pass interference. Indeed, they're gonna call it on Clayton.
Obviously that is a fifteen yard penalty from the line
of scrimmage, oh boy. And obviously it is another first
down and put them back into the inn.

Speaker 14 (49:29):
And the sideline is arguing that the receiver pushed off
on the defender first and they were arguing vehemently, but
to no avail. It will be first down for the Trojans.

Speaker 9 (49:42):
Well, unfortunately they don't have challenge flags yet in high
school like college and Pro one. Maybe one day they'll
be able to throw a red challenge flag on the field.
Throw catch made number seven. Room to run. Boy, he
just ran into a comet sandwich.

Speaker 12 (49:55):
Defensive stop right there.

Speaker 9 (49:58):
That was Braylan Costin and he just Scott literally slammed
into by the comments from both directions.

Speaker 11 (50:04):
Yeah, I mean he he got sandwich there, and you
know that was a good run. He know, he's got
a lot of speed. He's a track and field athlete,
so you know, a good run there to get you know,
deeper into the red zone. And you know they're inside
the ten yard line here, so very very close to scoring,
so you know.

Speaker 10 (50:23):
Defense has to stop them.

Speaker 17 (50:24):
Yeah, defense definitely has to stop them here.

Speaker 9 (50:28):
Upplemental there is there is. I think they did make
a stop. So if you could try to force them
to obviously jackie a field goal, that's that's the right.

Speaker 10 (50:43):
Yeah, But when we were down there at the other side,
when when when the when we were down there the
last time we were able to block the field goal
or the extra point.

Speaker 14 (50:52):
And even if they don't go for the field goal.
If we can hold them on a fourth down right,
it would be deep in our territory. But it's better
than letting them score. Oh oh, snap gets bad.

Speaker 10 (51:02):
Yeah, that backs ly.

Speaker 9 (51:04):
Bad for the Trojans offense. Back him up, and that's
exactly what we needed.

Speaker 10 (51:10):
Boy.

Speaker 9 (51:10):
A third and long coming up here?

Speaker 17 (51:12):
Now?

Speaker 14 (51:13):
Yeah, third and third and goal from the five now
turns into third and goal from what the twenty one?

Speaker 12 (51:19):
Fa third and goal from the twenty one.

Speaker 9 (51:21):
They are back outside the red zone if you will.
A third and goal from the five is now a
third and long. A is third and garner. If you're
in Clayton right now, third and twenty one, Mark says,
don't let him score third and twenty one? Fires? Is
he there? It is no good? Nice great coverage now

(51:43):
flags incomplete. Fourth and twenty one coming up.

Speaker 12 (51:46):
Came back down to you.

Speaker 14 (51:47):
No, that was a great play by Oscevedo Sebastian with
he broke it up just as it was getting into
the receiver's arms. That would have been a touchdown in
the end zone. Instead, it's fourth and twenty one and.

Speaker 10 (51:57):
It looks like being we go fourth.

Speaker 14 (52:00):
Oh, absolutely from fourth and twenty one. I don't think
they can kick a field goal from there. Yeah, worst
case scenario. Your defense has stopped this Clayton offense. UH
back to back series. Even if they don't get it,
they feel confident in their defense from the Clayton twenty one.

Speaker 9 (52:18):
Gotta make a big statement right here, if you will.
Ryan fourth twenty one pressures coming and he went home
in kicking.

Speaker 10 (52:28):
Bad off off run run itee.

Speaker 9 (52:32):
We got that Piti, don't Jason who may defeat he
misses impetto.

Speaker 5 (52:39):
Six on the play. There's a flag on the play.

Speaker 10 (52:45):
Guys, there's a flag on the play.

Speaker 14 (52:49):
That is unfortunate.

Speaker 9 (52:50):
No, there's a flag on the play. I don't know
where they're gonna call it. We gotta I heard a
player got drilled for Clayton.

Speaker 10 (53:01):
That they pick six practice fourteen person Rogers. But the
touchdown they say.

Speaker 9 (53:13):
Count, the pick six will not count.

Speaker 17 (53:17):
There's a They are still discussing this yet.

Speaker 11 (53:21):
They're still at the twenty yard line discussing this all
for conversation on going.

Speaker 14 (53:26):
Here, although they made the signal even after they initially
discussed it. So we'll see as the white hat and say,
ah personal football on Garner.

Speaker 10 (53:39):
It's on Gardner. Did they offset or is that the call?

Speaker 17 (53:44):
So what is it?

Speaker 9 (53:45):
Wait a second, I'm not confused.

Speaker 14 (53:47):
I'm not sure if they were offsetting or if he.

Speaker 10 (53:50):
Just changed his say Rogers comments, And let me tell you, guys,
the momentum change that Claike needed.

Speaker 9 (54:02):
You hear Mark coach. Normally he's miked up, he's focused
on the camera, on the on the on the scoreboard.

Speaker 12 (54:08):
Tonight he said, that's football.

Speaker 10 (54:10):
That was football.

Speaker 9 (54:11):
No penalty.

Speaker 12 (54:13):
It is a touchdown.

Speaker 9 (54:14):
Clayton can now take the lead if they can add
the pa t.

Speaker 12 (54:18):
We're tied, though, Ryan at six.

Speaker 9 (54:20):
And by the way, we haven't had a pick six
Kim Winslow in a very long time for the JV
offense or the defense. What a job, how about it?

Speaker 14 (54:30):
What a time for that to come. When it was
third and third and goal for.

Speaker 9 (54:33):
The High twenty one it was fourth and twenty one.

Speaker 14 (54:37):
Yes, first thing. It was third and five, third and
goal from the five. Back them up.

Speaker 9 (54:42):
Clayton's going for two, Kim, and we get the pick six.
Bagley going to Chadwick. No, he fires a open mayor
too high, the deuce cannot get it and real it
in on the right pylon incomplete. But we're tied at six.

Speaker 11 (54:54):
Yeah, we're tied at silks. You know that's a definitely
a momentum changer that that clay. You need it as
we hear the sea.

Speaker 20 (55:02):
Man, I'm robally competitive, brother. All right for a rematch
game on.

Speaker 16 (55:22):
I've been practicing with the cello. Got me lord the hoop?

Speaker 10 (55:26):
Foul?

Speaker 16 (55:27):
What are you gonna tell me again?

Speaker 14 (55:29):
Foul?

Speaker 1 (55:30):
Foul?

Speaker 16 (55:30):
Bro o here, take a free shot, go ahead, up
to get shirtd.

Speaker 20 (55:37):
Get all stayed, save money, and be protected from mayhem.

Speaker 10 (55:41):
Like me, love your mom, wait till your father cans home.

Speaker 5 (55:50):
Sportsmanship it means a lot of things. It means shown
respect for the opposing team.

Speaker 9 (55:55):
And being a good host for visitors.

Speaker 10 (55:57):
It's about midling good behavior and not getting caught up
any motion of the moment.

Speaker 3 (56:00):
It's about winning with humility, with dignity.

Speaker 15 (56:03):
It is about making my high school games.

Speaker 23 (56:05):
It's a good memory that I can enjoy for years
to come.

Speaker 14 (56:07):
Mister day son, daughter, coach, I'll wind this together. Sportsmanship together,
we made the right off.

Speaker 20 (56:15):
This message has been brought to you by the North
Carolina High School Athletic Association.

Speaker 9 (56:29):
In the words of the Great Jim Brockmeyer from the
TV show brock Meyer on IFC, we got ourselves a
ball game.

Speaker 10 (56:35):
Six skim down to you.

Speaker 14 (56:37):
That penalty was marked off on the kickoff, that's why.
And it goes into the end zone for a touchback, it.

Speaker 9 (56:41):
Will be a touchback. They'll bring it out of the twenty.
By the way, remember there was a penalty and it
was called on garner that was again assessed after the kickoff,
and Clayton did get the touchdown on a pick six
right around the five yard line. Kim Winslow, you got
to give us another Eastern Technical design scoring recap, but
it was on a defensive score, a pick six. We

(57:04):
haven't seen it in a while for the for Clayton Commas,
I want to say it's probably been since Southern Nash.

Speaker 14 (57:08):
That's what I was wondering. We had that scoop and
score and I picked six, and I'm not sure if
we've seen one since then. But yes, as you mentioned,
it was on a fourth and twenty one and he
picked it off at about the about the two or
three yard line right and he ran down that garner
sideline all the way to the end zone. Got a
little nervous when we saw those flags fly but once

(57:28):
they pointed towards Garner, it was six on the board
for Clayton. Unfortunately, yes, two point conversion was no good,
but we got a tie ball game.

Speaker 17 (57:36):
Jackie.

Speaker 9 (57:36):
You got Mark besignes you and he kept saying emphatically,
that's just football, that's just football. There's nothing wrong. And
obviously we see the result with a touchdown being called.

Speaker 10 (57:48):
Defense is doing what they need to do now and
hold them off. They didn't move.

Speaker 12 (57:54):
Yes, sir, what you got Ryan? Your take of that?
That pick six, my friend?

Speaker 11 (57:58):
Yeah, I mean we haven't seen one, as you were saying,
for a very very long time, and you know, it's
always good to get on the board with a pick six,
you know, especially from you know, ninety five yards out
or a very long fireyard is out, and you know,
it's definitely definitely a change for Clayton. I see them
on their sideline and it got them all excited once

(58:22):
that pick six started happening. So definitely good for their
offense and defense.

Speaker 9 (58:26):
New life indeed for the sideline, as well as the
awesome fans here at Nixon Fowler Stadium taking in a
beautiful fall night in October mid October for football, the
final game. They'll go to Cleveland next Thursday night. There
is a pitch and I'll actually throw and nice falling fumbled.
He fumbled the football, but it is it's comments football.

(58:47):
He got it.

Speaker 10 (58:48):
No whistle yet, and then they fumbled again.

Speaker 9 (58:52):
Man, they fumbled it. Corner fumbled, Clayton got it. Clayton fumbled, Corner.

Speaker 10 (58:57):
Got it, bom Man, serious, are you serious?

Speaker 9 (59:00):
It was like potato had it.

Speaker 14 (59:03):
But that's what But that's why he's playing on defense.

Speaker 10 (59:08):
Yeah, he was trying to.

Speaker 14 (59:10):
It looked like his uh forward momentum was stopped. They
actually uh threw the back down. I didn't hear whistles though,
that's the.

Speaker 9 (59:18):
Past exactly right.

Speaker 14 (59:19):
But it looked like his forward momentum was stopped.

Speaker 9 (59:23):
They're gonna be they're gonna call it. What are you
gonna call? Oh my goodness, yep. So it was it
was Garner's football. It was a fumble, Garner, Clayton recovered, fumble,
Clayton recovered back to Garner. I mean, it was that
potato who wants to get their hand burned? And you know,

(59:47):
obviously the referees were not stopping that play either, Bryan.

Speaker 12 (59:50):
It was so close to being out of bounds too.

Speaker 11 (59:52):
Yeah, so close to be out of bows that you
don't It could have been stopped for progress, but it
didn't as well.

Speaker 9 (01:00:00):
Incomplete no flags incomplete, No, no, wait a minute, I
am sorry. There is a flag at the line of scrimmage.
They're gonna call holding on Clayton. It'll be a first down.
It's looking like kim back down to you. You're on
the field level, you're at the twenty and they are
gonna call holding on the on Garner. My apologies, yes,

(01:00:22):
holding on Garner. Back them up, ten, Jackie.

Speaker 1 (01:00:25):
That's this.

Speaker 9 (01:00:26):
This is working in favor for Clayton right now. Just
the mistakes that Garner keeps putting themselves in the hold.

Speaker 10 (01:00:32):
Yep, Penalties, fumbles, yes, you know, pick sixes. It's not
what Garner needs right now, but it's exactly what Clayton needs.

Speaker 12 (01:00:43):
You're exactly right.

Speaker 9 (01:00:51):
Well what do you think? What do you think?

Speaker 17 (01:00:54):
Right?

Speaker 10 (01:00:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 11 (01:00:55):
I mean this is this is great for Clayton. You
know you gotta score on the board, it doesn't you
back up Gardener here?

Speaker 9 (01:01:02):
Oh boy, big stop there you go that comment. You
just you were singing, big stop, big fence again.

Speaker 11 (01:01:07):
Another big stop there, and you know loss of even
more as we hear Mark in the booth with us said,
you know this will be a very long uh drive
here for Gardener to get the first down, So you
know this is very very good for Clayton.

Speaker 17 (01:01:28):
There you go.

Speaker 9 (01:01:34):
So they're gonna set up again a second and twenty two.
A lot of two's on the board, two minutes left
and another stock of the comic Steve Fence again, Jackie.
I'm sorry, Kim Winslow. As you always say, my minimum
is a very funny thing. There's still a lot of
football left to play, but my minimum right now is
shifting for Clayton's finale here at home.

Speaker 14 (01:01:56):
Yeah, and just like on that fumble, it's kind of
been juggling back and forth right now. Commets seem to
have it. Let's see if they can hold it and
forced Garner to punt on this possession. On this third
and twenty two. We saw what happened on the fourth
and twenty one.

Speaker 9 (01:02:11):
Can't make a mistake third and twenty two, with ninety
seconds left in the first half.

Speaker 12 (01:02:15):
A throw gotta stop them.

Speaker 9 (01:02:17):
They will. He's down fourth down. I think it's what
about fourth and eleven, fourth and twelve coming up, maybe.

Speaker 12 (01:02:27):
Actually Mark says not even that.

Speaker 9 (01:02:29):
Hey, by the way, I want to say thank you
to Comets volleyball coach Tim Sullivan and the Lady Comets
went all the way to the second round on the
road to the state championship seven A classification for the
first time ever. They got wins of course over Durham
Riverside on Saturday, and they lost in the second round
on the road at d H. Conley in Greenville on Tuesday.

(01:02:51):
Soccer is looking really good. Comet soccer is the greater
news River seven eight champions. They're making a run to
the push in state and obviously football players around the
corner too, Ryan.

Speaker 11 (01:03:02):
Yeah, I mean, the soccer team's done a great job
this year, and you know they started the season off
with some very very big wins. You know, they had
that eight to zero win at the beginning of the season.
So hopefully they can make their way through the tournament
and have a good end to their season.

Speaker 9 (01:03:17):
Football playoffs Right around the corner coaches corner tomorrow, you
will hear coach Scott Chadwick Jackie talking about the fact
that Clayton controls their own destiny if they can win
the last two games off or they get a chance
of co conference co conference something they've not done, co
conference champions or conference champions, something not done since twenty seventeen.

(01:03:37):
But mostly importantly, a first round by in the playoffs
and home games came back in to you.

Speaker 14 (01:03:43):
And if they do pull off those two wins, they
would be the conference champions, because, right, they would have
one loss against Southeast Rally, if they beat Cleveland, Cleveland
would have one loss, but Clayton would have beaten Cleveland.
That's right, right, That's why, that's why they hold their
destiny in their hands.

Speaker 9 (01:04:00):
Gonna be a big one, A big game tomorrow night,
a big game next Friday night, Halloween night, trick or treat.

Speaker 12 (01:04:07):
Hopefully it will be.

Speaker 9 (01:04:09):
If the flag is thrown in on the punt fourth
and fifteen, they punt the football to gott a fly
on the play, Ryan.

Speaker 11 (01:04:16):
Yeah, I believe this is gonna go against Gardner. They
hit the kick returner before the ball was even you know,
close to touching down on the ground.

Speaker 17 (01:04:25):
So I believe it's gonna be on Gardner.

Speaker 9 (01:04:29):
Here, another flag on the plane, a discussion by the referees, Jackie,
I will give Clayton credit. My goodness, I don't want
to jinx anything. I'm knocking on wood as I speak.
Another penalty against the Trojans. Clayton has worked really hard
on not getting penalties called on them so far in

(01:04:49):
this game. Yes, absolutely, that's something they've pitched a major improvement.

Speaker 10 (01:04:56):
It's probably one of the best JV games I've seen.

Speaker 9 (01:05:00):
And you know, Kim, we talk about the perfect game,
the flawless game, no mistakes, and right now, you know,
might have struggled a little bit coming out of the gate,
but right now Clayton really showing some great improvement.

Speaker 14 (01:05:13):
Here we go taking advantage of the opportunities they've been
given after.

Speaker 9 (01:05:18):
And it's picked off in the end zone by Garner
on that Wow, are you serious man? Number fifteen? I
believe that's Diane Leech that intercepted it in the end zone.
But there's a flag play that. There is a flag on.

Speaker 14 (01:05:42):
The play, a legal shift on Clayton.

Speaker 9 (01:05:45):
Wow, And so it's gonna be a penalty anyway.

Speaker 14 (01:05:48):
We'll decline that, I am sure. The thing is, you know,
the Comic defense just had a great series against Garner.
They're going to have to come out on the field.
The Garner offense at the Comet thirteen yard line or
the Garner thirteen yard line. Excuse me, Oh, maybe they're
gonna market at the twelve, Josh, Wayne, it's gonna be

(01:06:10):
at the twelve, so yes, will. I've got to believe
this defense is gonna be revved up here for the
last fifty two point six seconds. Hey, by the way,
comic quick Garner has one time out left.

Speaker 9 (01:06:18):
I believe, thank you, And under a minute left to go,
I want to mention again Comet Soccer. The Comets go
on the road and pick up a big win over
South Corner three zero yesterday. This win officially clinches the
Greater Hoots River seven eight championship, and they also are
in the playoffs, and they got a lot of home
games here at Nixon Fowler Stadium coming up. So way
to go, under a minute.

Speaker 10 (01:06:38):
Left to go, takes off, I picked off, picked off,
another pick six, another pick six, touch down Comets. Yes
they've not thrown the signal for a touchdown, but on
the far side show a touchdown.

Speaker 9 (01:06:54):
Touchdown Comet.

Speaker 14 (01:06:55):
I wasn't sure if his knee was down before he
got in the end zone, but the official on the
far side he shirt did signal touchdown.

Speaker 10 (01:07:03):
Kim, is that another?

Speaker 12 (01:07:04):
Was that a fumble of Scoop?

Speaker 10 (01:07:07):
That's the second pick six in the game?

Speaker 14 (01:07:11):
And I missed the number of So was it fifty
fifty one?

Speaker 9 (01:07:15):
Fifty?

Speaker 14 (01:07:16):
See who's wearing the turnover boy.

Speaker 9 (01:07:18):
Who's got the turnover chain? Who's celebrating? Another pick six?
Another touchdown? They're gonna go for two. Chadwick right up
the middle and Trojans stop them. I want to say
it's number forty five? Was it Preston Cookefield? I want

(01:07:39):
to say it is, Kim. By the way, Clayton is
leading twelve to six.

Speaker 10 (01:07:45):
If it was Preston Cofield, he come up the field living.

Speaker 20 (01:07:51):
I'm your overly competitor brother. I'm ready for a rematch.

Speaker 14 (01:07:55):
Here.

Speaker 16 (01:07:55):
Take a free shot to get shirt, very free.

Speaker 20 (01:08:01):
Get all Steve, save money and be protected from mayhem.
Like me, I'm a parking gate and I'm all at
a whack.

Speaker 13 (01:08:13):
And if you have cut ray car insurance, this could
leave you all bent out of shade.

Speaker 5 (01:08:18):
So get all steed.

Speaker 9 (01:08:19):
It'd be better protected from Mayhem. We are still trying
to sort all this out, Kim, if you can give
us a clarification as well, I want to say that
it was number forty five. The touchdown is for number
forty five Preston Cuffield. They got the touchdown, so Garner
will now receive the football. By the way, clarification, the

(01:08:46):
pick six touchdown number forty five Preston coffee Field and
we got anybody, well, no, maybe Ryan, here it is.
And remember also Clayton's gonna get the football to start
the third quarter as well.

Speaker 11 (01:09:06):
Yeah, so you know, getting that pick six there, and
you know, getting the lead and none, you're gonna get the.

Speaker 17 (01:09:11):
Ball back in the second half. That's all right, Joyce,
build on that momentum and build on the score.

Speaker 9 (01:09:17):
Kim, what you got?

Speaker 14 (01:09:18):
Well, you know, towards the beginning of the game, we're
talking about how many plays in a row Garner had
just run the ball ahead and put it in the air. Right,
They've got two picks sixes. I would expect they're going
to keep it on the ground for the series and
they're gonna have a timeout.

Speaker 9 (01:09:33):
Thank you. Jim Kelly. Jim Kelly, Hello, sir, the voice
of the Garner Trojans tuning into the game, sir, Always
great seeing you man. Unfortunately I will be on the
away grand stands tomorrow night. Set up our broadcast. Unfortunately,
I did not get our media credentials turned in fast enough.
There is not enough room in the booth. But Jim
Kelly always a great guy. Kim, I know we know

(01:09:55):
him not only from football but also for basketball. And Kim,
we're not gonna go to a commercial. We've already thanked.
Bill's speaking of basketball, basketball is quickly approaching. Had a
great conversation with coach Collins again last night.

Speaker 14 (01:10:08):
It is crazy that we're at the end of October
and the next week is the last game of the
regular season. And I do also want to say with
mister Jim Kelly class a super supersolutely.

Speaker 9 (01:10:21):
He just had an amazing voice, right, I mean, and
that's not making fun of Jim, and he's got an
amazing voice for sure. Right, First, sit ten Paul on
the twenty one Jackie, you're taking this game. You're on
the camera. I know you're excited. You're lucky what you're seeing.
Clayton right now. Got the momentum here, jb Wise.

Speaker 10 (01:10:38):
Yeah, absolutely, momentum is a buke. Kim says all the time.
It's a it's a funny thing. You know, who's just saying,
you know, we don't end the second we don't win
the second second quarter, and you know, Garner goes and
Hair has their conversation, comes out and dominates because you know,
momentum shifts.

Speaker 9 (01:10:52):
The word that Mark Coats always says, adjustments, adjustments, adjustments,
adjustments and ladies and gentlemen, that's gonna take us the
halftime comments twelve Trojans six here at Nixon Fowler Stadium. Uh,
obviously gotta ask you, Ryan, what's you take of the
game so far?

Speaker 17 (01:11:10):
Buddy?

Speaker 11 (01:11:11):
Yeah, I mean we've seen, you know, Clayton get on
the board twice, but you know that's from their defensive side,
so you know, something changes to the Clayton needs to
make it in this halftime is probably towards their offense
and trying to get their offense, you know, in the inZone.
And you know, for Gardner, they've just got to fix,
you know, some of those offensive mistakes that they've made

(01:11:31):
with the pick sixes and the ones.

Speaker 17 (01:11:33):
They get that cleared up, they should be good to
go for the second half. Yeah, they should be.

Speaker 10 (01:11:39):
I think that. I think that, you know, if I
was the Barner head coach, you know you got to
complete your those you got to complete your guards. You can't, Yeah,
because they're gonna know your past. Tell if you're gonna
get an interception, they're gonna get two picks.

Speaker 17 (01:11:50):
They sat the back, no.

Speaker 10 (01:11:51):
Comments, We're gonna do keep on the ground. Clayton's gonna
pick that up. They they've got they've got to specialize
and if they've got to pick up and do it.

Speaker 17 (01:11:58):
Yeah, and that dons and you, Kim was your reactor
of the first half.

Speaker 14 (01:12:02):
I was gonna say the summary of the game, and
essentially three wins, defense pick sixes, and it's the defense
from both teams. Again, the comment offense has not been
moving the ball, and they've had a couple of turnover
on downs and the defense has done all the scoring.
For the comments, So Garner defense, you know, they go
into their huddle at halftime and they're saying, look, the

(01:12:23):
defense is doing their job. Both offenses got to pick
it up.

Speaker 9 (01:12:27):
No, it's worked out perfectly, right, I mean everything is
falling into place. Two straight scores now, Ryan by the
defense picked six as we mentioned, and obviously they're happening
in times where you think Clayton is in quicksand and
then they just make a burst play, make a big stop,

(01:12:48):
make a big you know, turnover corner does and Clinton
capitalizes on it scores.

Speaker 17 (01:12:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (01:12:54):
I mean it's been the Clayton defense show for them
so far, and you know, I'm excited to see what
happens here, you know, in the second half.

Speaker 9 (01:13:03):
All right, Jackie, what's your obviously inspiration of trying to
continue the momentum if you will, to get a double
you here at Nixon Fowler.

Speaker 10 (01:13:13):
Keep pushing, keep pushing, keep the penalties down, and uh
gets more pick.

Speaker 9 (01:13:17):
Sixes, more pick sixes, more pick sixes, join more coach
Robbie Morell and myself tomorrow night Trojan Stadium, Kim Winslow,
Jackie posey as well. Jackie's gonna be there, Jackie.

Speaker 12 (01:13:28):
It's really gonna be.

Speaker 9 (01:13:29):
Cool that you can actually make the last two games
of the season. And obviously you hear us talk about
it at Comics Football Weekly. You hear us talk about
it with the Coach's corner. H They're big games, right, Jackie.
I mean they are monster games. They're big games. A
lot rid in on what goes on tomorrow and night
to next Friday. It gets corner in Cleveland, Mark.

Speaker 10 (01:13:48):
They have you know, rivalry is rivalry and rival reed,
that's all I can say. You know that it's kind
of like college football. You know, you get to the
end of the season and it's all rivalry, you know.
I mean Garner was the rival for Clay and Well
held along before Uland showed up. So and then next
week you've got the You've got the the what is it,
the Battle of the county?

Speaker 9 (01:14:08):
Yeah, that what it is? Town football throwdown if you
will that.

Speaker 15 (01:14:14):
Home.

Speaker 9 (01:14:14):
So and Mark, I know you played football back in
the day, and I know you remember the Gary Fowler
House Stewart error. For the longest time, even if we
weren't even in conference, that was the team to beat, right,
it was Garner at all costs. Now it's Cleveland at
all costs.

Speaker 12 (01:14:30):
But obviously you.

Speaker 9 (01:14:31):
Still want to beat. You still want to beat the
Garner Trojan. It's at corner. They want to do the
same thing as well. Our Trojan's sign. What do we
call them, the Blue crew if you're tuned in listening
to the game as always, like Jim Kelly and others
for the Garner Trojans, you know, we call this game
right down the middle. And it started momentum wise with
Garner getting scores. But now the momentum has shifted. If
you will, on defensive pick sixes Ryan for Clayton and

(01:14:55):
Clayt's gonna get the football. Start a third quarter.

Speaker 17 (01:14:57):
Yeah, they're gonna get the ball.

Speaker 11 (01:14:58):
So you know they they need to keep their momentum
up to you know, hopefully increase their leading. The gardener
needs to get a big stop here and give them
momentum back on their side.

Speaker 9 (01:15:09):
There you go, there's the thoughts of our amazing crew.
We're gonna step away and take a break. Thank our sponsors,
all of our sponsors that make it happen. Comments football
on CRN Nixon Filer Stadium.

Speaker 12 (01:15:23):
The third quarter when we come back right now. The
JV Commets at their final game at home are up
now twelve six on Garner.

Speaker 18 (01:15:36):
Fractions of a second can be the difference between victory
and defeat at the finishing. America's favorite boring is back

Ah, we welcome you back as we're getting ready to
start the third corner. I hope everybody has enjoyed our coverage.
Of course the halftime reset recharge your batteries ten minutes
and Ryan Tom for Jackie Posey, Wesley Outwin are ready
to go here and get it started. Clayton will received

(01:26:28):
for the football, low kick drops around the forty for
the comics. They'll be ready to drive and we're ready
to go with the third quarterer. Clayton up now by six.

Speaker 17 (01:26:37):
Ryan, Yeah, clean's up.

Speaker 11 (01:26:38):
I say so, you know, a very short and low
kick there, so great field position, uh for Clayton to
get started this drive and you know hopefully they could
you know, get out of the blocks good and you know,
get a score here. And you know, I want to
ask Kim, you know she was talking uh to some
of the coaches and buy the you know, clay players.

(01:27:00):
You know, what were they saying during the halftime.

Speaker 12 (01:27:04):
And by the way, that is presented by All State.

Speaker 14 (01:27:06):
Kim I wasn't in the huddle, but obviously, you know,
very happy with how the defense performed, especially when Garner
had come out. This is not their normal JV quarterback
that was playing tonight. So just as the varsity and
back to back games came up against a quarterback that
they weren't expecting, tonight, it was a Comets or the

(01:27:29):
JV's turn, and I would say the comic defense handled
it just fine.

Speaker 17 (01:27:35):
All right.

Speaker 9 (01:27:36):
Ready to see, now what will happen as Clayton Braylan
Smith for him to run break away, one tackle to
beat that will bring him down. The other two backfield
defenders get to him as well, but Brayland Smith nice
run with the football and obviously that is Brayland Smith
able to get it done and move the chains. Big

(01:27:58):
first down for Clayton.

Speaker 17 (01:28:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (01:28:00):
I mean I was saying they can just put it
in and recorded a good start on you know, that's
exactly what they did. And you know here comes another,
uh decent run there for everybody.

Speaker 9 (01:28:13):
If you are watching the stream on Facebook, I'm sick
of Facebook. I am tired of Facebook. I wish they
the spawn of the Earth, would disappear. They have banned
our c r N page saying that we done something
illegal on the page. I don't know why we're following
an appeal obviously, but we cannot use Facebook to video streams.

(01:28:33):
So we're gonna video it on our camera in the backfield,
will video it and we'll upload it on YouTube later.
And it really sucks, it really does, but me please nonetheless, Uh,
we'll get ready to see if Clayton can drive. But
we still have the radio coverage for you. They can't
ban that. I have, I have control of that.

Speaker 11 (01:28:55):
Yeah, so we'll always have the radio broadcast and you
know you'd always do it on your radio to listen
to us, and you know, listen to Clayton driving down here,
you know, in the w Energy red zone.

Speaker 9 (01:29:11):
First and ten Paul on the sixteen.

Speaker 7 (01:29:15):
As.

Speaker 10 (01:29:18):
But it wasn't copyrighted. It was a commercial.

Speaker 9 (01:29:21):
That's what they're saying. Just just tell them, tell them, yeah,
that's probably what it is with a's freely recently dying
under eight minutes remaining exactly, and we know I just
said we used it over public It was done over
public address. We ain't got control over it, but the
crowd might picks it up seven and a half minutes

(01:29:42):
remaining as we have a whistle here. I'm so sick
of social media in the way they literally pirate people,
and you know, Kim, you know how I feel about it.
I think it's my four Facebook account. Brayland Smith up

(01:30:03):
the middle by the way, number twenty two running the football.

Speaker 14 (01:30:06):
I was gonna say, what have you done to Facebook?
Because they're all over to you all the time.

Speaker 9 (01:30:10):
It's this time it's Jackie.

Speaker 14 (01:30:12):
As as Clayton marched right down the field. They pick
up no gain on that last play. It's going to
be third and ten or third and eight from what
are we at? The fourteen low snap it and again
that was that was initiated by another low snap and

(01:30:37):
he tried to pick it up and tried to get
it into the running back's hands and just could not
make the connection. Ball goes to the ground and Garner
was able to dive on it. So another drive ends
for the Comet offense. All right, So yeah, I just
want to make a comment as the Comet defense comes out,
obviously the Comic defense. You know, it was all about

(01:30:58):
the defense in the first half. However, there are two
key injuries to report. One Preston Cofield. You know he
got that pick six. He is out for the rest
of the game with an ankle injury. That on that
pick six return and then also Riley lenders out for
the remainder of the game as he's out with backstiff stiffness.

Speaker 9 (01:31:22):
Oh boy, And just like that now the momentum, Brian
going back towards corner, if you will.

Speaker 11 (01:31:27):
Yeah, Gardner with a pickup of about sixteen there on
first down, So another big run that that Gardner's starting
another drive off with you know, they ran that ball
out to the left side there and you know, found
the little gap and was able to get a nice
pick up there.

Speaker 9 (01:31:53):
All right, first and ten ball on the forty one
pitch down to the inside, there's a drive and a
run break away, bring to run God, brought down this
time by the third defender in the backfield. That was
number thirty four, Nathaniel Bell, the running back, freshman running
the football. A big game for the Trojans. Has there

(01:32:15):
now been comics territory Ryan, Wow?

Speaker 1 (01:32:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 17 (01:32:17):
We've seen Belle, you.

Speaker 11 (01:32:19):
Know, have a few of those big running plays tonight,
and you know we've seen him in the backfield be
very productive. So you know, Clayton at some point's got
to realize that, you know, Gardner's just going to run
the ball and they've got to find a way to
stop them.

Speaker 9 (01:32:37):
Another slant to the right, and then on the Trojans sideline,
another big hit, unbelievable.

Speaker 11 (01:32:48):
And it's another first down here for Gardner. So you know,
a few plays in a row where they're picking up
first downs, and you know they find themselves, I believe,
just inside, very very close to the red zone. So
you know they are working their way down the field
for their first drive. You know here in the second half.

Speaker 9 (01:33:11):
Five and a half minutes remaining, understanding their one yard
shy of the red zone, first and goal or first
and ten on the twenty one, and they'll move the
ball up the middle, Trojans driving and just like that,
another just run up a push a three or four
here and Jackie, they're going after it here, five fifteen

(01:33:33):
left to go here in the third Quarner, I know
you're trying to reset things on the camera.

Speaker 24 (01:33:38):
This.

Speaker 9 (01:33:43):
Jackie's about as frustrated as I am not gonna lie
to you. I think we do realize what it was though,
number four as Jalen Jossy is running the getting the
chain to go with the football here and Kim, if
you're the Comets defense, you want to find another pick

(01:34:05):
six if it's possibility, right, make stop.

Speaker 14 (01:34:10):
Yeah, at the very least keep them out of the
end zone. You've got that six point lead. Comments are
hanging on to it, but Garner is driving on the
comment eighteen yard line.

Speaker 9 (01:34:25):
All right, and another whistle here.

Speaker 17 (01:34:37):
Fourth and seven.

Speaker 9 (01:34:38):
So here it is defensively, Ryan Clayton doing what they
need to do. However, however, fourth and seven, Garner, you
know they're gonna go for it here. Clayton cannot jump,
don't make mistakes and looks like they're trying to draw
Clayton off sides and Garner is not gonna be able

(01:34:58):
to do it. They got a call. Okay, here's a
reset and play underway. Josse running on his feet to
the end zone on a fourth and seven from the
eighteen yard line. Touchdown. Corner puts him back in the game,

(01:35:18):
puts Gorner back to the lead. No, no, I'm sorry, Yeah,
Alla makes it now twelve twelve ty game now tied,
game twelve twelve. A pat or two point conversion will
put Corner in the league.

Speaker 17 (01:35:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (01:35:32):
We saw last time that a pat attempt from Gardner,
you know, was unsuccessful.

Speaker 17 (01:35:37):
It was blocked out right, you know this is a.

Speaker 11 (01:35:44):
As they're going for two point conversion here from Gardner
running right up the middle, and they're able to get it.

Speaker 10 (01:35:55):
It's in and it's good.

Speaker 9 (01:35:57):
And just like that, Corner has now took the lead
fourteen twelve. So Garner, who went back up in front
right now, cam down to you. I think somebody was
saying they thought they saw flags. We don't see flags.

(01:36:19):
They call touchdown, they call to point conversion.

Speaker 12 (01:36:22):
Good for Garner.

Speaker 9 (01:36:23):
They're back up by two now fourteen twelve.

Speaker 14 (01:36:25):
What was that thing we said about momentum, Yeah, yeah,
it is swinging. And I think at halftime Garner probably
huddled up and said, look, we are moving the ball
on the ground and we're turning it over in the air.
Keep it on the ground. And that's exactly what they
did on that drive, and after getting the fumble recovery
from the Comets, they marched right down the field and

(01:36:46):
they take the lead. Now comment offense needs to get
something going here is exactly right.

Speaker 12 (01:36:52):
That's exactly right. Wow, as Garner would now kick it.

Speaker 9 (01:37:08):
Flags are flying laundry all over the field and Clayton
will now get ready to go again.

Speaker 19 (01:37:14):
Here.

Speaker 9 (01:37:15):
I think we've got a penalty here, Well, back it up.
That's on the comments. I say it's on Garner. My apologies. Yeah,
they called it on the Trojans, so they're gonna make
him rekick again. Are you still fighting Facebook, Jackie, Jackie,

(01:37:47):
you are first and ten ball on the thirty five
fourteen twelve Ryan, our mask got is barking at you, buddy, Yeah,
he says, acknowledge me, I.

Speaker 17 (01:38:02):
Will given him enough of love yet acknowledge.

Speaker 10 (01:38:05):
Oh, you'll be there giving him love all day.

Speaker 9 (01:38:08):
Kick short kick flags, Wow, not once, but two times
in a rowdown flags flying, unbelievable.

Speaker 10 (01:38:30):
That's just me.

Speaker 9 (01:38:31):
Three forty left to go in the third quarter, very
fast game going by, as man Clayton opens the door,
lets Gorner get back in and score on a fumble
while they were in the red zone. Clayton was Ryan
and then obviously add a two point conversion to that.

(01:38:52):
Corners in the lead by two, fourteen to twelve. This
game goes either way right now for sure.

Speaker 11 (01:38:58):
Yeah, something I've noticed about this Gardner. You don't kickoff team.
They've been doing very very short kicks, you know, about
ten to fifteen yards, so you know, with these two penalties,
it might give Clayton some good field present field possession
if if they don't kick it along here.

Speaker 9 (01:39:20):
Up the middle, Clayton does get it this time for
a third time. Been up the middle. Braylin Smith already
in Trojan's territory. He'll drop around the forty seven forty
six yard line and first in ten Kim. I will
say Clayton's in good field position. But they got to
drive here and come back in a big way for sure.

Speaker 14 (01:39:43):
But they need to take advantage of it. You know,
they drove down, you know, in the red zone the
last possession and just couldn't get points off of it.
Turned it over. Got to protect the ball. Watch the
low snaps again, that's what's been plaguing the Comets. And
another low snap that's when he gets it though. Oh wow,
while up flag goes flying.

Speaker 9 (01:40:05):
Penalty on the play flag marker. And by the way,
I do want to let everybody know that the game
is live on fan Huddle. I just don't know how
the camera is.

Speaker 18 (01:40:19):
Uh.

Speaker 9 (01:40:20):
We were trying to do a video stream. Yeah, I
know it's it's been on fit on this year. We
were trying to do a video stream obviously on our
see our end Facebook and they flank us. So the
page has been down.

Speaker 21 (01:40:38):
And what's what's crazy though, is that we were asked
to do it. Yeah, well, I mean they can't help Facebook.

Speaker 9 (01:40:51):
Yeah, Facebook is just it's a shame how it's become.

Speaker 17 (01:40:58):
Right here, for Clinton.

Speaker 11 (01:41:02):
Got a few yards there, so be they were backed
up five yards, you know. On it was first of
fifteen and now it's going to be uh about a
second and fourteen here?

Speaker 9 (01:41:22):
Yeah, there you go what they respond back?

Speaker 10 (01:41:24):
No, yeah, I had to. I had to send that email.

Speaker 9 (01:41:29):
Okay, Well, hopefully they'll get on it up the middle
as it'll go to the forty five forty five, forty
six yard line. Clayton got a run and right now, Kim,
they're they're going backwards third and seventeen. By the way,

(01:41:49):
I think the camera is back working it. It does
look pretty good on the on the fan Huddle, So
that's good. If you have a fan Huddle account fandot
huddle dot com, you can watch the game listening on
the community radio network as well. All right, here we
go thirty and seventeen up the middle. Jaden Jones, no

(01:42:14):
one home. He gets push push, push, pushed back. Whistle
again here.

Speaker 11 (01:42:19):
And I'll bring up fourth down here, so you know,
Clayton very struggled a lot there to get anything started,
so you know, definitely a drive that they definitely want
to forget. So not good for Clayton, and Gardner's definitely
got their momentum on their side.

Speaker 9 (01:42:35):
Yeah, Jackie Cam, this is frustrating because obviously three and
out and it's something Clayton hasn't done in a while.
But it looks like they're gonna have to punt the
football here.

Speaker 14 (01:42:45):
Yeah, this is their first part of the game. They've
had a turnover on downs and turnovers. This time they're
gonna pump for the first time. And once again the
offense was just kind of stagnant. But as we mentioned,
those low snaps are looks like we're gonna I'll start
on the comments.

Speaker 9 (01:43:01):
That look like we wait for the here possibly wait
to see what the call will be from the official
on the field. One O three left to go here
in the third quarter, fourteen twelve right now, Gorner around
top of Clayton and it does penalty the lay of
game on the comets, so the lay a game backs

(01:43:22):
them up again here five yards came back down to you.

Speaker 14 (01:43:24):
Yeah, those those low snaps it just throws off the timing,
you know, and or uh just the time that it
takes to pick it up and put somebody quickly in
the backfield. And they were practicing it during halftime, just.

Speaker 10 (01:43:36):
Not he shut it off.

Speaker 9 (01:43:38):
On the punt, Corner catches it and Garner now with
a throw flag throwing in it around the kickoff or
turn it around the twenty five yard fifteen yard line,
fifteen twenty five yard line.

Speaker 14 (01:43:50):
And we'll see the comment defense come out. Yeah, on
that last possession, we saw Garner just march right down
the field. But like I said at halftime, you know
the comments are missing two of their top two linebackers. Yes, yes, yes,
when you don't have your top two linebackers in the game,
it opens up some vulnerability of defense and.

Speaker 9 (01:44:08):
Kind of frustrating Ryan because it's players that are really
really good for the Commets offense. Hopefully we can get
it back to or defense. Hopefully we can get it
back for defense next week against Cleveland.

Speaker 11 (01:44:18):
Yeah, I mean, you know we see them both of
the inter players, you know, contribute tonight or one of
them contribute tonight on that pick six, So you know,
definitely they they do make an impact on the game
a lot. And you know, it definitely seems like we're
Clayon's defense is struggling without them. But you know, Gardner's

(01:44:39):
only up by two points right now, and you know
they're starting this drive way back in their own side
of the field, you know, deep there, I believe, starting
at about the fourteen yard line. So you know, if
if Clayton can get to stop here, they'll be very
very good and.

Speaker 9 (01:44:56):
Right now, but it's under a minute remaining here.

Speaker 14 (01:44:58):
Yeah, that flag, they were called for a block in
the back on the kickoff or the punt return, so
a penalty.

Speaker 9 (01:45:09):
Here comes Garner sliding as they got to the first
down marker. That's number fourteen running the football of Jamison Brockington.
I believe that was Brockington. So they're changing up their
positions on offense and defense as well. All right, here

(01:45:38):
we go first and ten thirty seconds remaining in the
third quarter, breakaway room to run. He's scattering picking up
my midum, number thirty four, drops it around in front
of our broadcast position at around the fifty yard line.
He's at the forty two forty three. That was number
thirty four running the football of Nathaniel Bell, the running
back freshman, and clock will stop because he did get

(01:46:01):
out of bounds there, Ryan.

Speaker 11 (01:46:03):
Yeah, and you know it seems like Clayon's got to
find an answer to you know, these Gardener runs.

Speaker 17 (01:46:09):
You know, I was doing my research before this.

Speaker 11 (01:46:12):
You know, Gardner's got a lot of track and field athletes,
a lot of guys that run the two hundred and
one hundred. So yeah, oh yeah, They've got a lot
of speed on their team. And you know, we see
they're a good stop on first down for Clayton for
Cleon there, you know, a loss of a few yards
for a Gardener. So you know, Gardner has a lot
of speed on their team and they've been using it

(01:46:34):
all night long. So you know, Clayen's got to find
a way to you know, get a stop and you know,
hopefully in this fourth quarter, you know, find an answer.

Speaker 9 (01:46:44):
And that's the third and fourteen twelve comments down by
two only score done by corner Jackie. I know you
had to step aside following appeal.

Speaker 10 (01:46:53):
They didn't ban your page. They're right, I've got to
go and change my password and stuff. They've they've break
down everything on my Facebook. Oh wow, nothing I can't.

Speaker 9 (01:47:01):
Do when I go home, are they are they?

Speaker 12 (01:47:03):
Are they saying that we can appeal it or whatever?

Speaker 9 (01:47:06):
What's that?

Speaker 2 (01:47:06):
Like?

Speaker 10 (01:47:07):
I don't don't.

Speaker 12 (01:47:07):
It's frustrating.

Speaker 10 (01:47:08):
They sent they sent something saying that I had to
email them to identify, identify, identify the content that has
been removed, the low patient the next flax of why
I should be able to have it restored. So I've
done all that, We'll see what happens, all right, So.

Speaker 9 (01:47:22):
We'll get ready to go into the fourth period. Yeah,
you're taking this game, Kim Winsley, back down to you
for an all state SILI report. Clayton not out of it,
but right now the momentum is swinging back to Wardswait
County scoring the Trojans as we go to our final
ten minutes set Nixon Fowler Stadium.

Speaker 14 (01:47:41):
Yeah, just you know, in the entire game, the concept
have just had one good drive on offense and they
just cannot seem to get the ball moving. And now
we're gonna they're gonna ask their defense to step up
again and help them out. We've got one quarter to go,
Like you said, not out of it by any stretches
to Chile down by two.

Speaker 9 (01:48:02):
Thanks again, to Kim wins Low, all State sideline reporter.
Remember Comic Country. You're in good hands with All State
varsity tomorrow night. And wow, what's the I think they
got a penalty coming up here. I'm not sure that
there's no penalty fly. Actually, no, there it is. No,

(01:48:22):
it's not no pen Wow, they're just re they're just
letting them rego again. The referee made a hiccup. So
we started the fourth quarter with a with a mistake
by the ref. Twenty. That's Johnsy with a pitch, goes
to number eight. That's a big man. I think it's
a tight end of Aid and Maco. He'll get right

(01:48:46):
near the line of scrimmage. And Brian, if you're goner,
you just want to hold on to the football and
just run the clock out. You got a two point lead.
Don't let Clayton get the football again.

Speaker 11 (01:48:59):
Yeah, I mean Gardner has been running the ball all
night and you know has found success with that. So
you know they're just going to keep on doing this
the fourth quarter and you know, hopefully take chunks of
time off the clock and you know, hopefully not you know,
get a score here and not give them you know,
have enough of a lead so that Claim can't come back,

(01:49:20):
and you know, Claim is just hoping that their defense
steps up and gets a stop.

Speaker 9 (01:49:29):
By the way, if you were watching on the CRN YouTube,
our channel got flagged and we are right now in
the process of going through social media appeals to get
it back. Nonetheless, we will upload this game on the
YouTube whenever we get it, and I don't think we'll

(01:49:50):
do it on Facebook anymore because so.

Speaker 10 (01:49:53):
With him getting rid of the video, does that mean
you don't have access to the first album?

Speaker 9 (01:49:57):
I would hopefully get the game back. You would think
that they would just mute the first whatever is the violation, whatever,
what we know the national anthem, I guess by ace Freely,
you know they would just mute it. I would think
it would mute it and it will restore the page. Nonetheless,

(01:50:17):
that's the reason why we were on. It was great
and then we get knocked off. But we're still live
on the radio. Well without the radio control that I
tell people this radio will never die, Radio will never
go away. Sports radio at that up the middle, here
we go thirty four running the football. That is going
to be Nathaniel Vale, the running back freshman, and Kim

(01:50:42):
winslow down to you for an all state sideline report
here on the radio dial. They're just running the football
right up the middle and basically just running the clock out,
running the clock out.

Speaker 14 (01:50:54):
Why put it in the air and risk it when
you're moving the ball, just keeping it on the ground.
It's just been a little short passes out the flat
nothing downfield. They're just trying to wear this Comet defense out.
And like you said, keep that clock running.

Speaker 9 (01:51:07):
Okay, keep that clock running. As we mentioned, running the clock.
Oh final game of the regular season at home here
for the JV Comets. They will be at Cleveland next Thursday, And.

Speaker 14 (01:51:26):
I just want to say, for any comments coming to
the game tomorrow night, do dress warm because once that
sun goes down, it gets a little chilly out here.

Speaker 9 (01:51:35):
Yep, we were talking about the forecast Kim and tomorrow
it is supposed to be a high of sixty seven
and a low of thirty eight tomorrow. Trojan's running the
football up the middle. That of course is Jayleen Jossey
in the big first down and in the red zone

(01:51:55):
in Comets territory.

Speaker 11 (01:51:56):
Ryan, Yeah, I mean Gardner's just running the ball. They're
making their way down the field. They've taken three minutes
off so far off this clock. So you know if
they if they score here, is gonna be very bad
for Clayton because it's gonna be more than a one.

Speaker 9 (01:52:13):
Yeah, more than one score game years at the right.

Speaker 17 (01:52:16):
Clayton definitely just needs a field goal here.

Speaker 9 (01:52:18):
We need to pick six or six fumble something and
it ain't gonna happen thirty three runs of the football
right up the middle. There's a flag thrown in the
pile as Lan Smitchell, the running back linebacker for Garner.

Speaker 14 (01:52:32):
That's gonna be a face mask on the cory.

Speaker 9 (01:52:34):
Here we go, and it's the same old cliche Jackie
that we talk about the penalties, the the mistakes, and
now it's penalties half a distance to the goal in
favor of Garner. So that'll put them on at the five,
the four yard line, yep, First.

Speaker 14 (01:52:53):
And goal on the four, maybe at the three. Looks
like they marked it.

Speaker 9 (01:53:01):
Up the middle and common s defense stops them. They
want to try to at least make this be no
gain for points or at least a field goal to
stop them there. Second and two, second and goal on
the two.

Speaker 17 (01:53:19):
That's what I'm following.

Speaker 9 (01:53:28):
Second and goal on the two yard line.

Speaker 11 (01:53:32):
And up the middle, marking them short here, no sign
of touchdown.

Speaker 9 (01:53:47):
Third third, third down, third and one to mar and
goal on the one camp.

Speaker 14 (01:53:51):
I think about third and an inch, like literally is
a hair shorts.

Speaker 9 (01:54:00):
Third inches, maybe one or two inches from the goal line.
Third in inches. We can't put inches on the scoreboard
heading to the midway point of the regulation fourth.

Speaker 14 (01:54:10):
Like I said, I don't even think it's an inch,
just like a hairline.

Speaker 9 (01:54:15):
Gonna stop them and they can't.

Speaker 10 (01:54:18):
No, they think they did.

Speaker 12 (01:54:20):
I think they did stop them. I think they did.

Speaker 14 (01:54:24):
They didn't. They looks like it's think they're gonna give
them four progress to about he's gonna inches again, Kim,
He's gonna lose about six inches on that one.

Speaker 9 (01:54:34):
Fourth in inches again midway here in the fourth corner.

Speaker 14 (01:54:38):
Inch toout fourth and six inches.

Speaker 9 (01:54:40):
Unbelievable, fourth and inches and they are gonna go forth
as the cornerback for Garner is being given the play
call here.

Speaker 11 (01:54:56):
They've got five seconds here to snap the ball, and
they don't seem like they're ready, So they're.

Speaker 9 (01:55:01):
Gonna take a delay a game or another time out,
and it's a time out being called by Garner. We'll
take one weather. We need to pause for station identification
as well. CRM that's just come its football.

Speaker 1 (01:55:14):
This it's the Community Radio Network w CRN HED seven
point nine a FM, Conner Smithfield, North Carolina. Proud to
be in the USA. We are see r and.

Speaker 19 (01:55:31):
Look at you go, the one trip grocery cham snooze
button resistor, Master suck Mager. We know the daily grind
can be tough, but amidst the hustle, we see you
conquer it all. And at Scooter's copy, we believe it's
the little wins that deserve some big moments of joy.

Speaker 9 (01:55:46):
So go on, embrace that tiny triumph.

Speaker 19 (01:55:49):
You Master Parallel Parker, You take that victory lap and
savor the sweet taste of success.

Speaker 10 (01:55:55):
Scooter's copy, you didn't just order it, you earned it.

Speaker 17 (01:56:01):
All right.

Speaker 9 (01:56:01):
We're back as they come back to the line of
scrimmage after the time out.

Speaker 12 (01:56:07):
Fourth and inches.

Speaker 9 (01:56:09):
Don't forget Mark Coach, Robbie Morel, Jackie Posey, myself, Kim Winslow.
Tomorrow Night, Trojan Stadium pregame show begins at six point fifteen,
kickoff at seven o'clock. Big Games Tomorrow Night between Clayton
and Garner. Gotta stop them. They cannot touchdown Garner. It

(01:56:36):
looked like for a minute there it was gonna be
a QB keeper and then he pitched it right open
man the tight end of Aiden Maco and touchdown for Garner.
This makes it now an eight point lead. If they
go for two, which I got a filling they will.
If they get it, it'll make it a ten point

(01:56:57):
lead to position two possession game.

Speaker 17 (01:56:59):
Right now, they're bringing out their kicking team here, so.

Speaker 9 (01:57:02):
Good for they are going to go for a pat,
so I make it a nine point game.

Speaker 17 (01:57:05):
But last time we saw this pat you know, squad
come out.

Speaker 12 (01:57:10):
It got blocked at this time up the middle.

Speaker 9 (01:57:15):
It is good twenty one twelve. It is now a
nine point game to score game for Corner. We go
and continue the fourth. In just a moment, Jack their backs,
check the backs got here?

Speaker 28 (01:57:38):
Jack the backs gets in your head right good Because
every year dozens of children are forgotten in the backseat
of a car by a parent or caregiver.

Speaker 14 (01:57:47):
All never thought it.

Speaker 28 (01:57:47):
Could happen to them, But with changes and routines, distractions
or a sleeping child, it can happen to anyone. Parked
cars get hot fast and can be deadly. So get
it in your head. Jack the backs a message from
N'SA and the AD council.

Speaker 16 (01:58:06):
I'm your football officers, that's the best man.

Speaker 13 (01:58:08):
When all eyes are on you, My eyes are glued
to the game. And if you didn't bund to your
home in auto insurance, well all.

Speaker 9 (01:58:19):
Of this this could be tough to tackle.

Speaker 12 (01:58:20):
So get all step.

Speaker 9 (01:58:40):
That was Cody Demers. He messed up my name, called
me Outland Wellsy for the longest time. Now it's Outland Wesley.
Don't get me banned again. I will say our CRN
page is shut down, but our Facebook is. Uh.

Speaker 12 (01:58:56):
Jackie's Facebook still ups.

Speaker 9 (01:58:57):
That's good.

Speaker 10 (01:58:59):
Yes, I'm just irritated.

Speaker 12 (01:59:00):
Hell, if they responded back.

Speaker 10 (01:59:02):
In it'll probably take up to twenty four hours.

Speaker 9 (01:59:08):
Boy. So anyhow, we got a flag on the play,
Kim Winslow, Let's be honest, Clayton, not out of it yet.
They gotta you just gotta find a way to to
to push and drive. And this is not how you
want to do it.

Speaker 14 (01:59:23):
No, not that way you want to start the start
the drive. But they've got to do something they haven't
done for a while and that's drive the ball on offense. Yeah,
so we got Eli Bagley in and again watch the snaps.

Speaker 10 (01:59:36):
Kim said that. Mark said right before she went down
to Kim Winslow, he said, Uh, they got to score
on offense. They've right through the receiver.

Speaker 9 (01:59:44):
And they're gonna happen now, that's for sure. Oh boy.

Speaker 10 (01:59:50):
Kind of reminiscent of when Auburn went to Texas A
and M offense date in Auburn.

Speaker 16 (01:59:56):
Jimmy.

Speaker 9 (01:59:58):
Missouri Missouri. Actually you know, beat beat off them. It
went into double overtime. I know Jackie was heartbroken. Fumble.
Did Garner get the football back? I think they did?
Fumble comments Strugeon's recover.

Speaker 14 (02:00:18):
And again how did that start? Wow, low snap on
the grounds, It never even made it back to the quarterback,
and as he scrambled to get it, Garner dove on it.

Speaker 12 (02:00:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (02:00:29):
We've seen this issue of Clay Clellan's offense, you know,
all season long. You know those low snaps, you know,
and that was a problem with their only loss this season.
You know, those low snaps, and you know it's getting
again tonight.

Speaker 9 (02:00:44):
Ell so much for a chance of getting the conference
championship or co conference it's pretty much about to open
up the door for Southeast Raleigh to take this one.
Clayton about to be handed their second loss in a
row unless something happens here. With under four minutes remaining,
turn over by Clayton, give it back to Garner. Gordner

(02:01:05):
are gonna go right up the middle. They're gonna run
the clock out. You know, that's what they're gonna do.
They're gonna run the clock. Gave it to the tight
end Adam Maco correction. I'll give it to number nine
of John the Buffalo.

Speaker 17 (02:01:26):
Jackie.

Speaker 9 (02:01:26):
This is not the way you want to end your
funnel home game stand here, obviously, but there.

Speaker 12 (02:01:30):
Was well, there was no men of moments.

Speaker 9 (02:01:32):
But right now offense just can't seem to get nothing.

Speaker 12 (02:01:35):
Knowing it came in touchdowns by the commence defense.

Speaker 10 (02:01:40):
It's like they came in the first half and they
were ready to play, but second half they just really ain't.

Speaker 12 (02:01:47):
A throw.

Speaker 9 (02:01:48):
Buffalo fires no when home, No flags right pylon of
the end zone, incomplete, far left actually far left of
the end zone.

Speaker 12 (02:01:59):
I don't see a flag.

Speaker 9 (02:02:00):
It's not passing. Yeah, I don't see a flag on
the play. No flag on the play here, So he's
only showing to the tower second the third down, So
third and eleven here two under under three minutes remaining

(02:02:28):
clock running Comets defense stopping Garner again, and this is
set up another fourth down and day. What Ryan, at least,
I mean Clayton's defense is is what's keeping this as
the nine point game right now?

Speaker 11 (02:02:41):
Yeah, I mean the defense is definitely doing their drop tonight,
you know, getting those two pick sixes and you know,
coming up with a few drives with your pretty big stops,
and you know, it's just been the defense all night long,
and you know, the offense hasn't really been going for
Clayton out all tonight. So you know, if they just
got their offense going, we might see, you know, a

(02:03:03):
very different ballgame.

Speaker 9 (02:03:05):
Final game of the regular season for the JV. Comments
here at Nixon Fowler Stadium, and I find myself just
thinking we're in the world of the season, go Ken.
It seems like it was just a Wednesday afternoon last week,
two weeks ago, and the season's already over when we
were doing the game against Southern nash And and we're

(02:03:26):
already heading to the end of the season for JV.

Speaker 14 (02:03:28):
Yeah, time flies when you're having fun, and it has
been fun season. Regular seasons not over yet, but like
you said, one more week for JV right now. And
Garner just took a essentially a delay game six and.

Speaker 9 (02:03:45):
One Clayton six and two Garner JV. Garner now looking
to go to seven and two. Clayton will fall to
six and two when we have a time out on
the field.

Speaker 26 (02:03:57):
I'm a tailgater, tail getting to get to my tailgate now.
It might not get me there any faster, but hey,
it gets be ready for football.

Speaker 20 (02:04:05):
Let's tailgates.

Speaker 26 (02:04:08):
I can't go anywhere, but you're so busy watching metailgate
that you don't see.

Speaker 12 (02:04:12):
The one in front of you.

Speaker 26 (02:04:15):
And your cut rate corsurance it might not pay for this,
So get all state. I'd be better protected from mayhem.

Speaker 6 (02:04:22):
Like me.

Speaker 1 (02:04:29):

Speaker 9 (02:04:58):
Under the two minutes remaining now, so Garner hunted the
football great. You know, obviously it bounced and bobbed the
other way, went about five ten yards in favor of Clayton.
Second and eleven. Now on the fourteen, Clayton got a

(02:05:19):
drive and they'll get swallowed up and stopped here as well. Yeah,
they've had Hdan Jones by the way, KB keeper got
brought down.

Speaker 11 (02:05:30):
Yeah, they just got down two runs there and went nowhere,
and you know they lost yards on both of the runs.
And now they're under sixty seconds here, and you know,
third and thirteen, so you know this is just another
lost in Clayton's book, as we've got flags here on
the play.

Speaker 9 (02:05:50):
Yeah, we certainly do another flag on the play. Third
and thirteen, ball on the twelve and Jackie obviously under
a minute to go, and uh, this game could have
went either way. Penalties right now hurting Clayton and in
it in Garner taking it, you taking offense and fumbles

(02:06:10):
fumbles mistakes made also by Clayton gives Gorner this win.
They're gonna go now to seven and two. Clayton is
not gonna fall to six and two. Final game of
conference against Cleveland, and Garner is saying that Cleveland jumped here.
We'll see what the call will be here on the
sideline see from our referee, and it is offsides on

(02:06:33):
the offense of the comments back them up five yards.
Third and eight is now a third and thirteen, pushing
back down to the twelve boys and heartbreak here.

Speaker 11 (02:06:41):
Ryan, Yeah, I mean, you know, Clayton just one of
those those penalties. You know, they got one in their favor,
and then they do the same thing, and.

Speaker 17 (02:06:52):
They did it again, and they did it again.

Speaker 9 (02:06:54):
But this time is gonna be on corner, but they'll
move them up five this time.

Speaker 14 (02:06:58):
Yeah, this is gonna be essentially I don't know how
they call it, like a delay a game or something.
The linebacker's coming up to the line and clapping, and
he did it on the last play, and the comment
sideline was not happy about it, and he blatantly ran
right up and did it again. And you can't just
see he got.

Speaker 9 (02:07:13):
Caught, Yes, got caught putting his hand into cookie jar
if you will. It's already too far gone. We need
a big play, something momentum burst happening for the offense
for Clayton. But I don't see that happening here. Now
with a third and eight fall on the seventeen Jane
and Jones and he gets almost tackled, he breaks away,

(02:07:36):
then he gets dropped under the five yard line. Clock runs,
clock runs, fourth down.

Speaker 11 (02:07:46):
Coming up, Yeah, fourth down and long here. So you
know this is definitely more than twenty one by the
four fourth.

Speaker 17 (02:07:56):
Of twenty one. This is definitely not a note that
you want to end on.

Speaker 9 (02:08:00):
Replaces going to end the season at home, Like you said, Ryan,
we'll see if they decided to take it. I don't.
I don't think they should run a play. If they
try to, they're at risk of a safety.

Speaker 14 (02:08:13):
And I don't think they should have had up and
done it as the Garner defense was running off the
feen cent. That would have been funny.

Speaker 9 (02:08:18):
Wow. The final is twenty one to twelve. The Garner Trojans,
in a game that lasted what in less than two
hours time an hour and fifty minutes, are going to
pick up this win. They're now going to go to
seven and two. Seven and two Clayton Comets will end

(02:08:39):
their home season schedule where they loss two losses in
a row, by the way, two losses in a row
at home, and they'll prepare to go to Cleveland to
end the season next Thursday night, October thirtieth at Cleveland.
Taken on the rams with a record now of six
and two, So seven and two for Garner JV. Six

(02:09:05):
and two for Clayton JV. And we'll get ready to
pack her up, wrap it up and head on out
of here. Thank you guy, thank you man. See you tomorrow.
And well boy, this wasn't pretty. Had a lot of
opportunities for things to be interesting, but at the end
of the night, just coming up short, Kim wins Lay

(02:09:27):
back down to you, your final taking the game, gets
you a good night's rest man. Thank you, Mark, Mark, Robbie, Jackie,
myself will be up with the booth and the Kim
Winslow are all State SILA Reporter Trojan Stadium. Big game
for Varsity and mar and I honically Garner's gonna try
to keep this winning momentum for the Blue crew at
their game at home to Born. Your final take of

(02:09:50):
this game, Kim, I was trying to say my apologies.

Speaker 14 (02:09:56):
Started to come up the steps and then I thought
you were cutting off. No, you know, Thomas just didn't
get it done tonight. Commas offense kind of stalled and
defense just couldn't hold them. You know, they tried to
put points on the board, tried to carry the team
for a little while, but you can't can't win a
game if the offense can't move the ball. So Commas
are gonna have to go back to the drawing board

(02:10:16):
before next week as they take on the Rams of Cleveland.

Speaker 9 (02:10:20):
They don't want to lose to Cleveland. Don't really have
three straight losses. By the way, Garner again, gonna go
down to seventy two Clayton six and two. Jackie, your
final take you this game here tonight, obviously twenty one
to twelve year final.

Speaker 10 (02:10:32):
Okay, so you know a pardon me wants to sit
there and say, you know what I say at the beginning,
it's the it's gonna be the battle of the momentum. Yeah,
Clayton come out and just defense annihilated the first half.
Told you at halftime the conversation with Barner that could
come out and dominate, and that's exactly what they did

(02:10:52):
the second half. You know, shout out to Chris again,
and Jack's proud Chris, who Chris give me to second Gilmore? No,
it's Chris Williams I believe. Yeah, Christopher Williams. Okay, I
would have said Carlisle because that's his mom's last name.

Speaker 9 (02:11:08):
Number eleven linebacker Christopher Williams, the sophomore for Garner. There
you go, Ryan, we'll get ready for Cleveland. You're with
us next Thursday and Friday. But your take up tonight
here and obviously twenty one to twelve not not the
way you want to end your final home game, but
obviously gotta prepare and take care of Cleveland on the
road next week.

Speaker 11 (02:11:29):
Yeah, I mean, you gotta go and just like this
from your memory, and you know, there is a lot
of positives you could take away from tonight's game. You know,
the defense came up with two pick six's, you know,
