Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello everyone, and welcome back to Conversations Live. I'm your host, Syrus.
We'b glad you walll could join us once again for
a radio audience tuning in at max WYD ninety four
point one FM and WYED online dot com. Are glad
that you all can be with us. Also joining us
online worldwide dra a podcast that I heart radio on
Amazon Music. We glad you all could be with us
as well. Food in security affects more than forty seven

(00:21):
million Americans, but this Spraying Bear is once again teaming
up with Country Stir Lucbrian to help fight hunger and
support the local farmers who put food on the tables.
For the tenth year, Bear will be presenting sponsor of
Luke Brian's annual Farm Tour and we'll be continue with
their impact with Heirs to the Farmer and Take Care
Now campaigns. Joining us once again from Bear to talk

(00:43):
to us about this. We're excited to welcome Brian Leek
to our broadcast. Brian is the director of External Communications. Brian,
thank you again for stopping by. Really appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Hey appreciate the time again, Syrus, thanks so much for
having me again.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
Look it's our pleasure. We least had you on with
us back in twenty thirteen, and it's great to be
able to see how Bear has not only been able
to continue to work with this project, but also the
way of awareness. So, as I mentioned, Bear and let
Brian have now worked together for ten years. What can
you tell us about the impact of this partnership, Brian
and why it's so important.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Yeah, it's hard to believe that it's been ten years, Cyrus.
I think, you know, not only has the has this
been one of the longest running partnerships of its kind,
but I think the impact that we've been able to
have is so gratifying. I think not only from helping
raise awareness and that's I think a key part of

(01:34):
Luke's ability to lean in and lend his star power
to this important topic, but also you know, bringing in
us like Feeding America, where we're able to help address
food insecurity in communities all across the country, both in
urban and rural settings, and in particular you know donating

(01:58):
this year a million meal to Feeding America, bringing the
total of nine million meals since the inception of our partnership.
So I think that's that's the I would say the
key indicator as far as impact of this partnership and
what we've been able to do in a in a
very tangible way.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
We'll Brian that's saying the hashtag take care now on
social media, But tell us how does the campaign help
raise awareness for food and security?

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Yeah, so I think it works in a couple of
different ways. Is you know, the the take Care Now
campaign is designed to be kind of that umbrella campaign
call it where it encompasses not only the you know
looking at the at the food the access to food
side that I mentioned, the food and security which which

(02:47):
Cyrus is a is a growing problem. I think the
reality is, according to Feeding America, forty seven million Americans
are food and secure today as opposed to forty four
lack year, and that forty four last year represented a
thirty percent increase to the year prior. So it is
a problem that we're continuing to see grow. Unfortunately, and

(03:12):
as we as we look back at the you know,
the recent you know election topics that were on top
of people's mind, you know, food inflation, food prices, those
types of things are at the forefront of almost every
American's mind. So it's it's unfortunately not a surprise to
see this increase. But the reality is that this this

(03:35):
campaign helps address not only the food and security and
but also the nutrition in inviting people and reminding people
to to take care of themselves and and whether that's
with nutritional supplements like vitamins or even just self care
products like of course Bear Makes Aspirin and Clarity and

(03:57):
some of those well known household brands as well. So
it's really a campaign to to help encourage people to
you know, to take care of themselves and in all facets.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Yeah, and I think when it comes to raising awareness
that heres to the farmer or campaign is another big one.
Talk to us about what it's doing in bringing awaren
awareness to this real world impact when it comes to
farmers and how they are helping to put food on
the tables.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Yeah, that hashtags an important one because again it does
call out and you know, kind of highlights farmer's important
role in providing abundant, nutritious food for us all which
again it all starts with the farmer. But the reality
is that by using this hashtag, those other conversations around

(04:45):
food security, you know, addressing addressing those communities that might
be in need and then you know, also tying in
our other partners, like Feeding America into this conversation. It's
an opportunity to throw these conversations together, so we're having
you know, really a holistic conversation and not just focusing

(05:08):
on one aspect of kind of that take Care Now campaign.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Yeah, Brian, it's great work that you all are doing
only with Beer, but also of courus with with Luc Brian,
and we're so glad that we can help to spread
the word about it. Can everyone. Brian Leak is joining
us today as a director of external Communications for Bear,
talking with about the campaign that Take Care Now campaign.
We mentioned the chorus here to the former social media
campaign as well. Brian, let our audience know where can

(05:35):
they go for more information? And I know that the
tour is going to be kicking off and expanding in
the California this year. Where can you go to find
out more information about that as well?

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Yeah, so sorrys, You're exactly right. The California leg of
the tour kicks off next week and then the there
will be a later summer kind of towards the end
of September leg of the tour that hits with Wisconsin
Illinois and Michigan. And we're in addition to using the

(06:06):
hashtag Here's to the Farmer, we're encouraging folks to go
to our website, which is Bear dot us backslash farm
Tour to learn a little bit more about the partnership,
the partnership with Feeding America and some of the things
that Bear is looking to do to help address this
this this topic.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
Love it O Brian, thank you again, really appreciate the
time and looking forward to the next chat together.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Absolutely, Syrus, thanks you again for having me and I
much appreciated.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
It's our pleasure and we think your audience are tuning
