to our broadcast today. You guys know Parker as a

(00:41):
NASCAR Spinity Series driver, but he's also an individual who's
literally living out his dream. We're going to talk to
him about the journey. What's been like him to look
at the past few years and even this year for
able to do what he loves and to share it
with all of us. Parker also has a sponsor in
funk Away. When I'm talking to him not only about
what it's been like them to have an odor eliminating
spray as his sponsor, but also let you guys notice

(01:01):
stay connected with him as well. Parker, thank you again
for the time. Really appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
Thank you guys for having me as an honor to
be on here.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Look the pleasure stuff me all. Mind. I want to
first of all, command you, Parker, own your success, but
also your humility. When I was prepping for this segment,
I went back and watched some video interviews with you
from three years ago, and I think one of them
you were, i mean celebrating what was a successful year
just after your you know, your second time being able
to be out there racing. What has it been like

(01:29):
for you to be able to do what you love, Parker,
and the share that with all of us.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
Yeah, I mean, I think it's definitely been a lifelong
dream to get to finally do this and to have
such an amazing partner like funk Away, and they're amazing
products that they put out and they've been such a
big help to me. But also it's just been, you know,
my dream since I was seven years old to be
a MASCAR driver now to live it out and do
my first Cup race last weekend and now have another

(01:54):
one in a week and a half or you know,
a week in a couple of days from now, and
just have fun go on the car for all those
things is so amazing and just living out my dreams.
So it is definitely a dream come true.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Yeah. So what was it about about being a driver
Parker that initially, you know, in your young age, what
was it that initially spoke to you to made you
say this is something you wanted to do.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Yeah. I mean I grew up around the around the
race tracks, and at first I wanted to race like
off road trucks, and that was just too expensive for
my family growing up. So I started at a local
short trek level in northern Wisconsin and it was a
little bit cheaper and easy to do, and I just

(02:38):
did it with my family and it was kind of
just my parents and me, and then you know, we
just kept working our way up and I started racing
around like the US and going to like down South
to race just because there was more competition down there,
and it's just continued to keep building to this and
then after now it's been you know, thirteen forty years

(03:00):
and now we're finally here.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Yeah. And I think that the way that people have
responded to you, Parker is so great. As I mentioned,
going back and watching, I'm able to see even some
snippets on YouTube with some of your races, but also
your conversations around it. What do you think that's kept
you so grounded? I mean, because you're doing what really
people dream of doing. Like you said, you are living
the dream? What is it do you think kind of
keeps you humble and grounded?

Speaker 3 (03:23):
Yeah? I mean I think it's just how I grew up.
I didn't, you know, growing up, I didn't have unlimited
money and everything that I you know, could do. I've
just been you know, working hard and having such amazing
partners behind me to make it all happen. And it's just, uh,
you know, you want to keep fighting every week and
trying to get the best nations you can for the
team and everyone that works so hard. Do you put

(03:44):
all this stuff together?

Speaker 2 (03:46):
And I mentioned too, and you alluded to it as well. Parker,
you do have a sponsor and the older eliminating spray
a funk Away. Talk to us about why you chose
funk Away What was it about funk Away that made
you say that you wanted to be able to have
them as a sponsor.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Yeah, I mean I think that you know, we you know,
met all the owners and everything, and it's just it's
just such an amazing product, first of all, and you know,
everything that they stand for and how they run everything
is just so amazing. It kind of fits with, you know,
how I grew up and just it's just overall just

(04:20):
kind of matches everything we were looking for and what
you know, they wanted. And it's just been kind of
an amazing partnership and just you know, it's kind of
turned into more of a family thing, and you know,
we're all very close. It's not really a business partnership.
It's kind of turned into like everyone's very close, and
you know, I'm just very thankful wants him to have

(04:41):
them and and they're great product.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Yeah. So I think the other side of it is
though a Parker and especially even with this year, I mean,
they're always going to be with any dream in any career,
there are going to be challenges. What is that that
kind of keeps you moving forward even when you do
hit a ship or a challenge.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Yeah, I mean, I think it's just you can't. I mean,
we race for so long. We race from February to
basically the middle of November, basically every weekend of the year.
So it's just you got to realize that you're going
to have bad weeks and try And my whole thing
has just been always trying and keep myself at like
a middle ground. Don't get too excited about the weekend
before because you got the next week and coming up.

(05:22):
And also don't get too down because you've got another
once youain another weekend coming up, where stuff we change
and go get again. So I've had a couple of
bad weeks, but we just you know, we just keep
fighting as a team. We try and get better. And
it's all you can really do when you have a
bad week is just try and figure out what you
can do better and fixing going the next week and

(05:43):
try and make it better.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Yeah. Now, outside of being able to do what you love, Parker,
you of course are inspiring others. What has that been
like for you? You've had people that you looked up to.
What has it been like for you now to be
one of those individuals that other people look up to?

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Yeah, I mean I think that's the amazing part of
it is, like you know, you say, ten years ago,
I was a kid who was watching on TV thinking
that it can never happen. And if you just work
hard and put your mind to whatever you want. I mean,
there's gonna be tough times where you know you got
to fight harder, and it would probably be easier just
to try and give up. But if you want it

(06:21):
and you know it's your dreams, you just keep fighting
for it and just try and make it work. So
I think that it all just comes down to hard
work if you really want it.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Yeah. Such a great point and such a great conversation.
The game everyone. Parker Retelof has been our guest today
is the nest car expended, the serious driver talking to
us about the journey, what's been lining to do, what
he loves to have great partners and companies alike Funk
a way to be able to support him as well,
and what's going like them to show other people what's
possible when it comes to pur throwing their own goals

(06:51):
and dreams. Parker, congratulations to you and all of your success.
