Chucky Cheese, that dirty little rat. I can't even go

(01:02):

crew as we do what we do. Brita living next

Speaker 6 (01:44):
I'm doing great. I'm doing great. I'm actually on the
road right now. Drive I'm doing I'm doing great. I
had a great weekend. I had to advents this weekend.
One was LP anniversary with Mike and and an Abstract
Prove and I interviewed Volume teen there.

Speaker 5 (02:04):
We had a great time.

Speaker 6 (02:05):
And then on a Sunday, I did something called Rock
the Block the l a block party.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
That was pretty cool.

Speaker 6 (02:15):
Uh the team made it to I think the CBS
News or something like that. U our performance. Yeah, so
it was. It was pretty cool, pretty cool weekend. And
of course we're still and we're still promoting the albums

(02:37):
right now, you know. So shout out to my album
Nostalgia and Kelly Good's album Testimony.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
But yeah, feeling good.

Speaker 5 (02:46):
Okay, that's what's up?

Speaker 4 (02:47):
Yeah, yeah, okay, yeah, definitely if it's a Volume ten,
shout out to him and Pitt Griff Pump on my
lap at all time, I shout out to him and uh, also, yes,
I was gonna go to that block party.

Speaker 5 (02:59):
But uh I heard it was cool. Yeah, it was,
it was, it was nice.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
Okay, Okay, I'm glad you performed there. Definitely, for sure.
For sure m D was going on, Man, not.

Speaker 5 (03:12):
Much, pretty busy.

Speaker 7 (03:14):
I'm gonna say, morning afternoon, early afternoon and things like
it might happen, but an who knows, it might not happen.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
But it looks promising.

Speaker 7 (03:27):
You know, I have a few more meetings to go
and hope that I can make everybody understand the rod.
I'm trying to take what I'm doing and also talk
to Calvin. You know, they got that music store retail
music store conference get ready to jump off next month,

(03:49):
well not months around the corner almost, and they called
the FAM Forever Forever a music store. It's retailers black
details across the country. Now, yeah, opening up, artists, if
you're listening, opening up again, so you'll be able to make.

Speaker 5 (04:07):
Some real money.

Speaker 8 (04:09):
Yeah you heard.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
Yeah, So you speaking of making money, I'm gonna give
you a resource coming up a little later that independent
artists can use to actually make money. You can get
some shows off here. If people think you're good, you
can actually make money on that so I'll announce that
coming up in a little bit later on tonight during
the show as well as we're gonna talk about we're

(04:32):
gonna go get a little scientific with these with making music,
and we're gonna talk about that a little later as well.
But first we're gonna start off the ninth's industry topic
Trending Topics Tonight, brought to you by Spotlight three sixty Media.

Speaker 5 (04:44):
If yeah, like all the celebrity stuff.

Speaker 4 (04:47):
That I got going on in Cluton, our interview tonight
with Kareem Grimes actor, Spotlight through sixty Media, make sure
you follow everything right there keywords Spotlights, th six the
media on all platforms, SOMD you. You talk to a
lot of independent artists throughout the years, and even in

(05:11):
my little bit of bit of entertainment knowledge as far
as music is concerned, I try to talk to him
and one thing that one person was telling me over
the week is that he's a legacy artist, and he's
saying that a lot of the the younger independent artists.

Speaker 5 (05:26):
Do not like listening to him.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
They're not taking his advice, they're not, you know, taking
what he's telling them.

Speaker 5 (05:33):
But all he's doing is trying to help them.

Speaker 4 (05:35):
And like I was telling him, I said, what's like,
you know, a child and a parent, the parent the kid,
the child feels the day have to you know, they
know everything and and they got to go through their
trials and tripulations and grow on their own. You know,
they may have to stumble and fall and go through
all that, but eventually they'll realize that the parent was
actually right, so to speak, on some life issues. Well,

(05:59):
you know, that's the same thing with independent artists. The
younger independent artists feel that the legacy artists don't know
much about what's going on, so they're they're not heeding
the advice that well, at least I'm not saying all
of them, some of them are not heeding the advice.
So you know, I told the guy I was telling
it talking to them about that, you know, don't be discouraged,

(06:21):
just tell him and knows who's gonna take the advice,
will take the advice, and knows who don't don't.

Speaker 5 (06:25):
That's it.

Speaker 6 (06:27):
So what I think about it is a couple different things.
So twenty percent of the time, the older generation could
be wrong about something because there's new things in new
technology that is out. But most of the time. There
are things that the younger generation don't know. But they

(06:48):
are hard hitted and don't want to listen because they
feel like they got it no matter what. You're trying
to tell them something and they like, I got it,
I got it, and it's like you don't got it.
Like it's a blueprint to all of them. It might be,
you know, some new things added, new ingredients added to
the formula, but I mean, like you know it, don't
go too far from that, you know, So m D.

Speaker 4 (07:11):
Will give it two cents on that. We'll talk about that.
We do have to move the crowd as well. Coming
up in a little bit. And we got played a slag,
We got love and lust and we got other things
to get to man the radio show like.

Speaker 1 (07:25):

you don't think these things are the results of it.

Speaker 5 (20:10):
I just do things that I enjoy and passionate about.
So that's great. It's really cool.

Speaker 4 (20:14):

you can see me right there on screen, right now,
making it happen for you. If anybody out there in

(21:05):

Soldier Boy birthday party, hit us up on your social

going on down there. Was the vibe I heard it's
gonna sposed to be a big thing tonight, So I
just want to see what was up down there the
Soldier Boy birthday party. All right, So earlier we started
to show off making it happen tonight with MD Britta

(21:27):
Living ex Human Chandelier and myself Donee. We started to
show off tonight talking about the legacy artists, some of
the legacy artists. W I was talking to a few
the other day, was telling me how some of the
young younger artists and not listening to them and not
heeding their words. And me and Britt both gave our
little feedback on that.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
MD.

Speaker 4 (21:48):
You wanted some time to marinate on that, and you
had a chance to sit down and think about it.
So up, what are your thoughts on that the legacy
artists giving some instructions to the younger artists and they are.

Speaker 5 (21:59):
Not listening, at least some of them aren't listening. What
do you think about it? M?

Speaker 4 (22:02):
D Well?

Speaker 7 (22:03):
The major problems younger artists don't want to listen to
the ogs.

Speaker 5 (22:08):
It's like a it's an eagle. It's an eagle. They
don't see the ogs.

Speaker 7 (22:15):
Back in the days, high school junior high had music classes,
you know, that was what it was like. They call
it elected And a lot of us took music classes
during our high school and junior high school years, so
we understood the foundation of you know, songwriting, playing instruments,

(22:37):
and et cetera, et cetera. So we were kind of
raised up to the formal way of doing making music
and doing music. While today artists are basically doing freestyle.
They have no education behind the music.

Speaker 5 (22:54):
Well, you know, the whole full circle thing.

Speaker 4 (22:57):
CDs and all that are coming back now, so and
you and you just had me a whole spill about
the whole retail stores. They're still around, so you know
you want music retail stores to still around, so you
definitely if you want to go ahead and uh put
your CDs or vinyl back in their stores. They're selling
and making money. So you know, things are kind of
coming full circle, so you know you need to heed

(23:19):
some of those words.

Speaker 5 (23:20):
All right, it's.

Speaker 4 (23:21):
All good man. Well, we're gonna make it out. We
can continue to roll on with the radio show. Me
m D and Britta living next to you mentioned Elear
recently had a chance to catch up with R and
B sensation and legacy artists Melvin Riley. Melvin Riley if
you're familiar with him me from the group Ready for
the World. We recently caught up with him inside to

(23:42):
Move the crowd recently. Here's how that went, along with
the new single He's pushing us well, and we're gonna
play that way back in about six minutes, y'all.

Speaker 5 (23:50):
Here we go.

Speaker 1 (23:53):
The case time for the radio show, move the crowd.

Speaker 5 (23:57):
Let's watched yourll inside and move the crowd.

Speaker 20 (23:59):
Right.

Speaker 4 (23:59):
About what we do each and every week around this
time is we ask well we bring an artists off
stage and bring them backstage to get to know.

Speaker 2 (24:07):
That my bricks a close and more personal.

Speaker 4 (24:12):
That just sounds so good when you do that. I
look forward to that each each week. You do that
right there and us of course, of course we wouldn't
be a dang thing without a woman. And you know
about serenading these women for years, man and and jus. Now, man,
we got R and B Legend. I'm a car m
an R and B legend man because he's been doing

(24:33):
this thing for forever.

Speaker 18 (24:34):
Man.

Speaker 4 (24:34):
And uh, in fact, I'm just gonna reveal something. Man,
I got one of my first girlfriends. I played old
Sheila for and and and her name happened to be Sheila,
So you know you saved my life.

Speaker 5 (24:49):
Man. We got Melvin Riley in the building.

Speaker 11 (24:50):
Man.

Speaker 1 (24:50):
How you doing?

Speaker 13 (24:51):
Man?

Speaker 5 (24:51):
How you doing? Brother?

Speaker 23 (24:53):
I'm doing great, Man, I'm loving still having fun with this, uh,
this music.

Speaker 4 (24:59):
Thing, So I can't complain definitely, man, So you've been
doing your thing for many years.

Speaker 5 (25:04):
Man. So from old Sheila to whose is it your records?

Speaker 4 (25:08):
And man, you know you've been doing it man, so so,
so what's what you've been up to throughout the years? Man,
since we last heard from you? What's been going on
with Melvin Rally?

Speaker 5 (25:18):
There's nothing changed with me? You know, music has always
been what I do.

Speaker 23 (25:22):
The business is a certain side, but as far as
music and writing songs and writing hits, I mean, there's
nothing changed.

Speaker 4 (25:31):
We deal with independent artists here on the show here,
So what's some words of wisdom or encouragement that you
got for independent artist that's looking to be like the
next Melvin Rally?

Speaker 5 (25:42):
I think you just got to be who you are.
You know, right or wrong.

Speaker 23 (25:47):
You know, when you don't believe in yourself, and what
do you expect somebody else to believe in?

Speaker 5 (25:52):
Excuse me?

Speaker 23 (25:53):
So, I think the bottom line is to go ahead
and just be who you are. It may work or
it may not work, but don't short change yourself trying
to be something that you're not put out what you
feel is great. Don't compromise and let the world hear it.

Speaker 5 (26:13):
Yeah, so what kind of tour you guys about to do?

Speaker 23 (26:18):
Well, We're not about to do anything more or less
than just do shows during the summer. So with there
being a split, there are certain individuals in the group
that do Ready for the world. Then there's me, which
is the original lead singer, and I do the shows
that I do. So what we do is we go out,

(26:38):
we just got and just you know, doing show. So
that's pretty much what it is right now. It's not
about a tour so much as it is just doing
shows and having fun. At this age, if we do
a tour, it'll probably be something like a Jodasy or
a new addition or something like that. But at this point,

(27:00):
particular moment, we're just going out doing shows and have
a good time.

Speaker 5 (27:03):
Yeah, man, Yeah, if you're not, you don't work. Yeah,
manf the bed.

Speaker 4 (27:11):
We got Melvin Riley in the building, and you want
to talk to him. Keyword da radio show on your platform,
hit that convo button. We will bring you up.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
Man.

Speaker 4 (27:18):
Were about to play this record he got called sugar Daddy. So, uh,
first of all, Melvin, with these all these women out here,
that's that's uh, britt Levin next Colever years, Okay, with
all these women that be on Instagram and all that
entitled women acting like they're only in it for men
for the money. You see him on Instagram and all
that all the time. This record, sugar Daddy, Man, I
guess it's right on time for them because you delivering, you,

(27:40):
you seeing you, you gonna They want you to pay
for everything.

Speaker 5 (27:42):
You paying for everything. You saying.

Speaker 4 (27:44):
Okay, you raising your hand on this record. So uh,
tell me about this record before we jumped to it.

Speaker 5 (27:49):
Man, do you you know for the.

Speaker 23 (27:51):
Last twenty five years, you know, I think the narrative
has changed to where men have been real talk.

Speaker 1 (28:01):
You know, men have the mean a lot of women.

Speaker 23 (28:04):
During the past twenty five years, it hadn't been music
towards women. It's been or less been like this, that
and the other. And I'm just like, you got to
embrace me personally. I come from a school where you
embraced women, you respect women, and you treat women like
a woman. And that's just where I come from, you
know what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (28:24):
And a lot of guys.

Speaker 23 (28:26):
Speak about certain things to be tough and this, that
and the other. But did we get somewhere where we
forgot about women? Did we forget about chivalry? Did we
forget about being a real man? To a woman, and
I'm just one of those guys from the old school
that believes in treating a woman like a woman needs
to be treated. So Sugar Daddy is one of those

(28:47):
songs where I'm saying, let me take care of those things,
those things that you need as a man, which men
have gotten away from, I believe and the music era
that started to be this place where they call women this,
that and the other.

Speaker 5 (29:04):
I don't believe in that.

Speaker 23 (29:06):
I believe in talking and being a man to a woman.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
And Sugar Daddy is over the tip and I'm having
fun with it.

Speaker 23 (29:15):
But at the same time, you cannot continue to speak
in a derogatory manner toward women for the next twenty
five I got you. Can we treat women and sing
songs about women like we should.

Speaker 5 (29:30):
That's where I am right now.

Speaker 4 (29:31):
All right, well, let's let's see exactly where you are
right now. We're gonna play this record Sugar Daddy right here.

Speaker 4 (43:01):
You're making it happen for you hood, the hood, block
to block always, the radio show Done d MD, and
Theliving extra Human Chandelier making it happen for you strictly
independent hip hop and R and B music. So let's
go ahead and jump into another trending topic right now,
followed by we do have our celebrity interviews this week,
as well as play at a Sled and Love and

(43:23):
Lust before we get up out of here. As well,
we're gonna see what y'all feel about this. We'll give
you inside of the cerebro portion of making songs. I
had a chance to catch up with DJ Rantz. Dj
Rants if you know him, he's representing fifteen hundred or nothing,
big time producer produced a lot of records, including a.

Speaker 5 (43:43):
Lot of them that out right now.

Speaker 4 (43:45):
I had a chance to catch up with him at
an event and I ask him for a tip for
independent artists, and he said that independent artists learn need
to learn human behavior. All right, here's what you have
to say in regards to that. Take a listen, let
me give me one independent artist tip for an independent
artist looking all real quick fun as you go.

Speaker 33 (44:03):
Independent artists, Tim, you just got to learn the rules
to break the rules man, and really understand your craft
and study human behavior. Study humans. I'm in the business
of humans.

Speaker 5 (44:13):
What do you mean study human behavior?

Speaker 33 (44:15):
Well, when you understand human behavior and how the mind
works with the human how you know how to get
into the hearts and the minds and the consumer through
melodies and words. You know how to make them move
through realities and words. You can get them to create
a reaction.

Speaker 2 (44:32):
Which is give me some money.

Speaker 5 (44:35):
And that's where you have to say in regards to that.

Speaker 4 (44:37):
So get inside the behavior and get it and learn,
learn human behavior and get into the minds of the
humans to create the emotion, which we're using melodies and
in words to create an emotion and create money. And
I thought that was kind of deep, man. I didn't
I didn't realize that, and that coming from a big
time producer doing this thing. So I thought that would

(45:00):
be hereful for you all to know.

Speaker 5 (45:02):
I thought that was that was a that was a.

Speaker 7 (45:04):
Good way of express express a person's self, you know,
And you can learn human behavior by going there, probably
check it out a small college course of sociology, and
that would give you a very good understanding of human
behavior and the melody. Take a class of music and

(45:28):
learn melodies and then yes, intertwining that together to your
feel of the way you express yourself as an artist
in State.

Speaker 5 (45:39):
Don't go away.

Speaker 4 (45:39):
We got a love Less coming up in a little bit,

That's what I like doing.

Speaker 5 (48:54):
Yeah, well, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (48:55):
As far as love and concerned, I don't think that's

this for quite a long time.

Speaker 26 (49:17):
Not a long time, but these past few times he
makes decisions without thinking it through. He just thinks that
that's the way it should be done because he wants
to be the head of the you know, which in
Christianity you have the man to be the head. But
if he's doing whatever he wants and not really considering
my feelings, then off with her head.

Speaker 2 (49:37):
I'm sorry to say.

Speaker 26 (49:39):
That's why now you're considered the next because I don't trust.

Okay, all right, it just less and I love because
if he loved her, he would get with her and try.

Yeah, you got correct.

Speaker 5 (50:02):
What if it what if it's not a bad choice?
