Artists should be putting out their songs and testing your
songs when you put them out. Not just be putting
them out, but there's a certain amount of songs you
should put out to test. I have a chance to
check out a podcast recently and they spoke about how
many songs and independent artists should put out and test.

Here's how that went.

Indie emerging artists needs to be releasing frequently enough to
be able to ab test a few things. What do
people even want from me, My recommendation is always EPs
out of these six or seven songs, where the two
or three that feel the strongest, or we know exactly
who we're talking to. Putting out single, single single, then
body of work so people can sit with it and

decide do we understand who you are? Like? Who can
you bring along for the.

putting out EPs right there, testing your testing your music
in that aspect, Britt, how many songs do you put
as far as testing as concerned? Do you even test
or how does that go with you?

I don't test.

I just put things out and you see what people
like and what people don't like. But definitely I really,
you know, like some people might not like that I'm
saying this, but I don't really put music out for
my fans like that like I do, But I don't.
It's really like what I like and if you don't

like it, you just don't like it. Because at the
end of the day, I'm not Beyonce. So I do
this for myself and for like my mental health, you know.
So if you like it while I'm putting it out,
then cool. But I do see certain things that people
like and they don't like it. And like you said,
like you keep putting stuff out, you also showing people

who you are. Because people have a short attention span.
You put out one thing, then they forget, you know.
But if you constantly put something out, people don't want
to pay attention to you. But then when they keep
saying it, you keep forcing it in their face and
they like, you know what, let me see what's going
on here, or you know what, I like this one,
and I'm start paying attention to you more instead of
keep scrolling when I see you, because you know, you've

actually been really consistent, you know, like you really trying here.

So yeah, I don't really test the waters. I just
do stuff.

You know, I do country music, I do I do
all genres. So it's like some people may like this,
some people may not. The people that don't like my
R and B when I put up my country or
my EDM, they like, now this is some music right here,
you know, like I like this. So you know, I
just try to do things for everybody when I put
it out, but it's mostly for me, and if you
like it, then we can all enjoy it, Okay, but.

You so you're doing it mostly for your path for
passion project. It's kind of what you're doing, right, You're
not just putting it out in testing it. You putting
it out for your well being, for your enjoyment if
you if you like it, cool, If you don't, that's
cool too.

I used to do music just for other people and
nothing one really having it, and you know, like it
was getting kind of weird, and it's just like, no, like,

Do what makes you feel good at the end of
the day, because when you get out there, you know,
on stage, you gotta feel good.

a trend and this what everybody running with. If you're
doing something that's a trend with everybody running with, but
it's not believable, then what do that do?

How many songs should an artist put out as far
as any indie artists put out online you know, the
streaming platforms and test it? Or should they just go
ahead and just put out EPs like the young lady
was saying, Or should they just go out and do
like Brett do?

Just put it out and if you like it, you
like it. If you don't, you don't passion projects? What
do you think?

Hmmm, that's a hard question, you know.

I was talking to a few musical musical music professionals
and the majority of them said that artists put.

Too much out.

You don't get the fan base and the consumer opportunity
to marinate on the sound that they're trying to create
as an artist. And what they need to do is
probably put out a song every three to four weeks,
but make sure you do some promotion behind it.

Should and artists put out as far as their music
is concerned, Should they test it? Should they put out EPs?
Should they put out a passion project? We want to know.
We want to hear from you strictly independent about an

with a dilemma and now I didn't know what to do,
and I don't know if I handle it right. So

not one, but literally two people walked up to me

and asked me to buy their music right now. They
were selling CDs right asking me to pay for their music. Now,
I thought about it that I should have bought it,
but I don't have a CD player, so I couldn't
even listen to the music anyway, so I'll be just

basically donate money to them.

So I told them no.

But as I walked away, you know, since we support
independent artists, I felt bad I didn't support them. I
kind of felt bad. Was I wrong by not buying
the music even though I didn't have nothing to play.

Or should I just bought it? Anyway, and just I
don't know, throw the CD away. I don't know what
I would have done with the CD because I don't

on the radio end, with they were not being supported,

have handled that?

get out there on foot and sell our CDs. But

can get out there and do it, but you can't
capitalize off of it. I'm used to like people knew

barbershops and everything.

And then you could do flash drives because flash drives
was cheap before COVID, but when COVID came, the flash
drives is now forty to fifty dollars again because everybody
was using them. So you know, again, just let them

So I should have played the radio card and ask
them to send the music to me instead of me
