Jeffrey shares his heartfelt and personal story of growing up in Brooklyn, NY, watching his activist mother serve her community, and how her dedication inspired his lifelong mission to serve, protect, and uplift others—even beyond the battlefield. After serving his country and battling the effects of PTSD, Jeffrey saw firsthand the struggles many veterans face when trying to re-enter society. a marine that CEO and found the Veterans Helping veterans.
We bring to you my cousin. His name is Jeffrey Young.
Is he on the line right now? Hey, hey, hey,

(04:19):
because you're on the line.

Speaker 5 (04:21):
Yes, sir, have yeah, my cousin, My cousin. What's up, Cus?
How's everything?

Speaker 8 (04:31):
Oh? Everything is working out pretty good. You know, God
is blessing me each and every day.

Speaker 5 (04:38):
That's it. That's it. That's what it's about.

Speaker 4 (04:40):
You know, it's been a while we've been trying to
get you on this platform, but here it has a arrived.
Veterans helping veterans, my cousin doing this holy thing. I
tell you, you've always been a giver and you've always
been a person that cares for people.

Speaker 5 (04:55):
And I got to ask what I ask most people
when they come on the line, how did it start
for you?

Speaker 4 (05:01):
How did this wonderful walk of helping people, especially veterans?
But how did it start originally for you?

Speaker 8 (05:10):
Okay? Well, basically how it started from me? It's from
my early childhood. You know, my mother was an advocate
for the community. And I remember far back as nineteen
sixty eight, I was giving out food from panties that
she designed to help people that was in need, and

(05:34):
also helping other people that was say they was not homeless,
but they needed to get their rent paid, electric bill paid,
and stuff like that. Like I said, she was a
community out activist and that's what that's all I ever
known and seeing through her and it kind of stuck

(05:55):
to me. And as far as you know, like when
it comes to veterans, I remember going to the Wilson
Avenue train station and there was a veteran there. He
was a corporal in the Marine Corps. He had his
uniform on, but he was just he was homeless, and
everybody used to walk by him. And you know, I
remember a couple of days, you know, like if I

(06:17):
have extra money, I give him a dollar or something
like that. Because remember as a little kid growing up
in the U in Brooklyn, New York, and I see
a lot of poverty, you know, growing up in the sixties.
They had a lot of drug addicts and stuff like that.
And it's like his dude was repeating himself and the
same type of thing with the orpiates, you know, epidemic,

(06:39):
you know. So it's just it's a long journey than
me myself, my struggles, you know, as a marine veteran. Uh,
it took me a long time to get into transition
into society. And sometimes even now I stumbled at little bit,

(07:01):
you know, But with God, with the grace of God,
he helps me, you know, and he lets me recognize
my fault to get to where I'm at on that level.
You know. As far as helping veterans, I dedicate my
life to helping veterans, not just them. Like I said,

(07:22):
I said, come you see it says veterans health and
veterans and their communities. Because in America, if you're a
true American, there's somebody in your family that was a veteran.
So that means you're a part of the veterans family community.
So like I got a pantry in Brooklyn, New York,
six ninety nine Dicob Avenue, and we feed every Saturday.

(07:47):
We've been feeding a little bit before the pandemic, but
when the pandemic came up, we started feeding. We feeding
four hundred families twice a week. You know, right now
the numbers is down. I didn't mean to cut you
off with no.

Speaker 5 (08:02):
No, no, no, you talking. Don't worry about me. I'm
listening because this is a lot of wonderful information.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
You know, a lot of people have really even in
the church, rem have really you know, lost members and
and people you know, started staying more inside and stuff
like that.

Speaker 5 (08:20):
So they weren't able to come out to the churches.
So trust me, you.

Speaker 4 (08:23):
Know it's been everybody has felt the loss or the
drop in numbers based on the COVID, you know, the
COVID and pandemics. So don't feel no way, you know,
but tell us what are you doing? What kind of
things are you spearheading to take it from plateau to
plateau and to bring those numbers up.

Speaker 8 (08:41):
Okay, Basically, what we're trying to do now is we
have I have a project from the making right now
where you know, as far as veterans coming from the
military into transition to society, sometimes they it's a little hard.
So they need this instance from the VA. And what

(09:03):
I would do is go through the VA, and the
VA will assist meet us system where I can put
them in the right direction. Right now, we've got a
project dealing with forty apartments that God has truly blessed
us with with for the apartments that we can house
forty veterans. So we've got to start somewhere. I can't

(09:25):
fix everybody in one day, but God is blessing us
a by day. Get one thing and then we're getting
the next thing. Then we're getting next this project. I
prayed on it, A lot of heads prayed on it.
God's hands in this it will be a success. You know.

(09:45):
As far as right now, I've been blessed that I'm
registered in in a couple of states where I have
six chapters. You know, I got one in Charlotte, North Carolina.
I got one in Brooklyn, New York. I got one
in Camden, New Jersey. I got one in Newark, Delaware.

(10:06):
I got one in Statesville, North Carolina. And I got
one in Man in South Carolina. You see the one
in Man in South Carolina. What we're gonna try to
do is we're gonna try and try to go to
the land bank and try to purchase some land so
we can farm the land and feed our people. You know,

(10:27):
a lot of us. It's just it's hard to make
ends me that time, and the way society is today
is getting harder and harder, you know, me being a
marine veteran and now I'm even getting ready to be
a senior citizen legally. You know, there's a lot of
you know, Vietnam veterans and all of that. They are

(10:48):
all seniors, and you know, just because you're a veteran
I want everybody to get this idea out of their
head thinking that, well, hey, he's a veteran, he's being
taken care. That's nottrue. That's untrue. Oh he's a veteran.
The VA is paying them. That's You know how many
veterans be waiting patiently for years and years just to

(11:13):
get their compensation and they union deny, God, they deny.
It's just so many of us out there. You know
how many veterans of walking the street with PTSD and
they're living off the grid. You know, they not a
garbage cans, Jesus veterans that served their country and can

(11:35):
put their life on the line. You know how many
Venans in the military that got medals I'm talking about
Arnold's purple hearts and stuff like that, and when they
came home from their injury, Uh, they stop giving them
the opios that they was giving them why they was
on active duty. So they start medicating themselves. But they

(11:58):
were still in the military, and they took the year analysis.
They came up positive. All of them medals, arnors and
all of that rank that they have, don't need nothing
no more. They kick them out. So not to the
what they have no benefits, you understand, and they look

(12:19):
for their country. So what does the medals really represent
at the end of the day when you could get
some and they could just keep it off from you.
So you know, this organization that we have right here
is for even help veterans like that where we can
actually take them to like to the Department of the Army,

(12:40):
Department of the Navy, Department of the Air Force, and
here's their case where they can upgrade their discharge, where
they can get the adequate care that they and what
they deserve. Everybody makes mistakes, everybody makes stakes, and that's
how that is. But as far as this organization, I

(13:03):
love what I do. I live for this every day
when I wake up in the morning, that's all I
think about is how can I help another human beings.
You know, we also in this organization, it's all about
the youth too, you understand. We got to help our
children and sometimes you know, like you know, there's no programs,

(13:27):
so we got to go back to basics. Three programs.
Put them in these communities where the children to have
something to do besides playing the game. Understand, you know,
all the cities in every state, they got programs that
they can't if the parents can't pay for it because

(13:47):
they income, they got what they call vouchers, and they
could applop vouchers and they can give it to these
programs where they'll be paid for it. So it could
be tough, sufficient and it could continue to carry on.
Now I have a program in veterans self, the veterans
that I want to create, and it's called Future Tech Leaders,

(14:09):
And what I want to teach is basically teach them
how to do robotics. You know, we'll start from six
to nine, from ten to thirteen, from fourteen to eighteen,
so by the time when they finish, they'll be able
to do job a script, web design, all kind of
stuff and they already be prepared. Now you also got

(14:33):
called Medtroop. Now Metroop is right there, six ninety nine
Dekard Avenue in Brooklyn, New York. And what we do
with there we teach the children CPR first, ay and
stop the bleed. Now that's very important because say, if

(14:53):
if you're grandmother something and you're sick at home and
something was to happen, your child will be able to
keep you straight into the amulance. Yes, yes, you could
be walking down the street. You and your friend, one
of your friends could get you know, the bullet that
has no name on it, and the bullet could come.
You can at least stop the bleeding chief the shop

(15:17):
until amulance come. So these are things that is very
important for the community. Yes, then we've got a program
for eighteen to twenty five where we're teaching EKG technician
at administrative Billing. You know, we prepen you to be
paramedic to work for Beth Stuyveson, you know the volunteer

(15:43):
ambulance service that they have there. Yes, yes, yes, my partner,
his name is Chief Ron Davis, which you know he's
been blessed now he got his doctrine, so his name
is doctor Davis. Oh, he's doing is he's doing great,
wonderful thing. He got ten hats and yeah, he's the

(16:04):
president of Veterans helping veterans in their communities. And he
made sure that everything is squared away in UH in Brooklyn,
New York. UH Alexander, Henry Alexander. He's in UH New
New Newark, Delaware. And what he's doing UH is trying

(16:27):
to get buildings and stuff that we can rectify and
make it where veterans could go stay there, you know,
because sometimes you have to get out of your location
and get out of your mess. And sometimes getting around
veterans other makes your life a little better because we
understand each other. And you know a lot of that

(16:49):
are older. You know, they don't burn so many bridges
with their families that even if they get straight, the
family's don't want to have nothing to do with them.
And that's real bad that you feel at in the
day you die along, so us as veterans, we stick together.
You never die alone. You understand we leave nobody behind. No,

(17:13):
I don't risk my life for this country. And there's
many of us out there that has risked our lives
for this country, and we'll still continue that to protect
this nation, even out deserved versus. We're Americans and we've
got to keep this nation strong. With the help of
God and keeping them in our sights, we'll be all right.

(17:38):
And that's how I see it.

Speaker 4 (17:39):
Well, Well, you're I mean, you're absolutely right, and you're
saying so much that has never been touched on much.
And it's such a blessing that you're bringing this to
the forefront for the listeners because I'm sure you know,
even if they're not event but they know of it,
and they you know, they've been touched by the safety net,
right that you guys have created for all of us,

(18:01):
for us to be here and and and not have
to worry about outside people coming and getting us, and
you know, just just making our lives.

Speaker 5 (18:09):
Uh what we don't want them to be, right.

Speaker 4 (18:13):
So it's a blessing that you have taken that uh uh,
that goal to want to take matters into your own hands, just.

Speaker 5 (18:22):
Like your mom. You know what I'm saying. Mom was
like that, right ARLINI my aunt LINI, that's my girl,
and she was like that.

Speaker 4 (18:30):
She took the ball, as they say, by the horns
and and and went into the communities and did what
needed to be done. And you are following suit. And
I'm so proud of you, just so that you know,
and I'm saying that for listeners, all my listeners to
hear you know.

Speaker 5 (18:46):
That's what it's about.

Speaker 4 (18:47):
That's what it's about when it comes down to ministry
and and the fact of giving back to your community
to make it stronger.

Speaker 5 (18:54):
And like you said, it starts with the youth. You know.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
I was an educator for the thirty something years and retired,
and it's about you have to give that so that
they can emulate what it means.

Speaker 5 (19:05):
To be a leader, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (19:07):
And you are that, and I so thank you for
bringing this to the forefront because I've never had a
VET on this platform, and this is something that people
need to understand, you know, the things that they're not
getting that.

Speaker 5 (19:21):
They're in need of. And just like yourself, I.

Speaker 4 (19:23):
Don't understand why not you guys have kept us safe,
you know, and I don't understand why the government would
not do more for the men and women that have
served and protected us for so long, you know. But
praise God that you are doing that, you and your
team are doing that. You've branched out to different places

(19:47):
and stuff like that. You know, that's commendable, you know
what I'm saying. And I just want to thank you
for your service. I want to thank all the veterans
that are under your platform and beyond, you know, for
all that they given to this world.

Speaker 5 (20:02):
You know what I'm saying. We wouldn't be who we
are or where we.

Speaker 4 (20:05):
Are if it wasn't for you, and I again, I
just have to thank you because I mean that.

Speaker 5 (20:10):
You know that's that's heartfelt, you.

Speaker 4 (20:12):
Know what I'm saying, Because I know how you are,
I know how your heart is.

Speaker 5 (20:14):
You're a giver, You're a error.

Speaker 4 (20:16):
And and and you'll do anything for anybody, you know
what I'm saying. And You've always been like that. So
I commend you just for taking this this and just
taking it to a.

Speaker 5 (20:25):
Level of comfort for those that are in need. So
I just thank you again.

Speaker 4 (20:30):
But you said you're doing so many different things. I
see you're working with the with the EMS and your
you know, in Brooklyn, and you still and I and
I bless God for that as well, because you're still
you haven't forgotten about the community where it started for
for you, you know what I'm saying. And most people
they transition, they do things and they move to another state,
another country, you know whatever.

Speaker 5 (20:52):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (20:53):
You give back to the Brooklyn community where it started
for you, for us right as a family. And I
just commend you for that, you know what I'm saying.
And again, everyone that's listening, you need to understand this
is a need.

Speaker 5 (21:07):
So if you know, I'm.

Speaker 4 (21:08):
Gonna have him to give his information as to how
you can reach out to him again, Jeffrey Young, so
that you can get closer, a closer help for people
that you know, Like you said, you get ready to
get some land so you could plant and stuff.

Speaker 5 (21:23):
And that's really where it's coming to.

Speaker 4 (21:24):
You know, we have to be account held accountable for
things that we need, right and this and it starts there,
So I thank you for that.

Speaker 8 (21:34):

Speaker 4 (23:02):
I know you've got like about six places that you're
venturing and you're up and running in. Can you just
make mention those one more time just so you know
the listeners can get an understanding and where you're about
to go. If you have any other cities or states
that you're planning on venturing into.

Speaker 8 (23:20):
Well I'm gonna tell you I'm trying to renture in
all fifty two states. That's my plan. But I gotta
go with what I have now. I got Charlotte, North Carolina, Brooklyn,
New York, Camden, New Jersey, Newark, Delaware. Again in North Carolina, Statesville,

(23:44):
and Man in South Carolina. We venturing now, I'm trying
to get Georgia. He was registered in Georgia, Virginia, Pennsylvania
because when I was in let me tell you something.
I remember. I was in Pennsylvania. You know, I cried for.

Speaker 5 (24:02):
You, always cry, You always cried, but I love it.

Speaker 8 (24:08):
Hurt me, you know, to see what I've seen, the poverty.

Speaker 5 (24:12):
Mm hmmm, Philip, And I'm like, yes.

Speaker 8 (24:17):
Really It's wow. There was absolutely people doing dope in
the streets shooting up and I'm like, wow, it's really
like you know, all the probably like.

Speaker 5 (24:31):
You know.

Speaker 8 (24:33):
What's going on in America. You know, we have to
change and we need to help our people more. I
know everybody, I know, everybody sees this. You seeing that
we want fire, we're not paying attention to it. You know,
them as American people, them is the grandchildren of veterans

(24:57):
War heroes, gay Man them, them is absolutely veterans in
the streets. Them is actually our brothers, is our aunt
just our family. They out there, we just walking by
them and not paying attention to staying focused, and that's

(25:21):
not a good thing. We got to pay more attention
to our people. We got to pull our people up.
You understand what I'm saying. That's that's where my mission
is at. You know, my primary mission is. You know,
I got this thing that I say to myself every day.
You know, I thank God and I ask God to

(25:41):
help me to eravcate. You know, I got voyages that
I deal with right and that's homelessness, helplessness, hopelessness and hunger.
God please help me and give me the strength to
eramicate that if I could stop that, I can help

(26:01):
so many people. And then you look at it in
twenty In twenty fifteen, I looked it up. It was
three point five million homeless people in America and there
was eight point one million vacant homes. So I looked
at the numbers. I'm like, wow, why did we have

(26:22):
a homeless problem? It don't make no sense, you know.
And now they're going to tell me the numbers doubled
as far as the vacancy, whereas at sixteen sixteen million
vacant homes in America. But guess what they tell me.

(26:43):
The homeless population drop, you know. So I'm like, it
doesn't make no sense. And then you know, from the pandemic,
a lot of people lost their homes, a lot of
people became, you know, so the numbers had to go up.
You understand what I'm saying. And the criteria is just

(27:05):
so out of pocket. If I give you an example,
they get if they turning away families to to to
have a place to stay in the nighttime, so they
got to live in their cars, they got to live
in the parks. And then they know, you want your
half living in the parks because like heay in New
York City, they close the park now they don't want

(27:26):
you to park so that that you sleep on You
ain't sleeping on it tonight. You better come in to day.
It's suppressed, but you want to be on it tonight.
Well that's how that is. So I'm like, which which
way to go? We can turn? What what could we
do to make this better? So I seen people right

(27:50):
and this team I got Wow. Man, they going like
all they is is gives you understand. What they want
to do is give you know, I got a relative Yo,
this relator got she's outstanding. Her name is missus Lucy Jordan.
You know, if you have a problem where you can't
get into and she'll help you get your critics go up,

(28:12):
help you get into different programs with your first time
home buyer, all of this stuff. You know, she tried
to get you right. And then she and what's the
great thing about it, she's passionate about what she does,
you know, and then you she's so strong that she said, okay,

(28:33):
after she gets you in the home, you might want
to go on a vacation. Right. She guess what she's
travelated too.

Speaker 5 (28:45):
I mean that.

Speaker 8 (28:49):
She ain't playing with it, you know what I'm saying.
And she been in the real estate business for over
thirty years, so she knows her stuff.

Speaker 5 (28:57):
And she's in North Carolina.

Speaker 8 (28:59):
Yes, she's in North Carolina.

Speaker 5 (29:01):
Okay, So if a.

Speaker 4 (29:02):
Person, yeah, because I'm there, say is she does she
have any other people in different places that she can
you know, get people in touch with in regards to
housing and you know, home helping over in.

Speaker 5 (29:14):
The other places.

Speaker 8 (29:16):
Yes, this is what I'm gonna share. It's she's not
just licensed in the state, she's licensed in other state.
Talk so and what she can't do she does just
like me, even though I'm not in New York City.
You understand what I'm saying. Anybody can reach out to
me at seven o four two two two zero eight

(29:36):
seven seven. I'm saying, I'm usually up all night because
of this PTSD I got. And if you need to
talk because you're going through a little stress with your PTSD,
or you just need to talk, we could talk. Or
you know you need advice as far as which way
to go, so, uh put in your claim or how

(29:58):
to put in your claim? I can teach you how
to put in and claim yourself. You know because right right,
because this knowledge is power, you understand, and power get
your finance. But you got to get so, you know,
so they could build their finance, and once you build

(30:19):
your finance, change your living conditions. You know, I'm gonna
tell you right, you could give anybody a job, but
if thing't got no place to live, the job really
don't mean nothing. Because okay, say you get a job
with the ten basis doing construction, you make a hundred
a day, you walk home on a hundred. You ain't

(30:39):
got no place to live, So you gotta get a
buddy or at least y'all take fifty to fifty together
and get you all and they eat. That's what you're
doing with your money. Say where's that? That's the way
to nowhere? You understand, right, So I'm like, let me.
I could supply your place to live, and then I
can teach you a trade. I can teach you talking,

(31:04):
treat you understand. But this is where we're going at.
We could teach you farman, agriculture, all of this. Look
at that. That's right, better person. So this is where
we're striving to go to.

Speaker 4 (31:25):
Even with the youth, you know, to give them tech
positions where they can learn technology. Even me, I am
so uh when it comes down to tech stuff. So
just to know that someone can teach you and get
you to take you from one plateau to another plateau
when it comes down to technology is important now because that,
I mean everything pretty much is tech, you know what

(31:46):
I'm saying. So if you you don't know how to
navigate on a computer or even your cell.

Speaker 5 (31:52):
Phone, you know, you kind of you kind of lost,
you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (31:56):
So it's beautiful that you guys are teaching the youth
and and anybody that needs to know tech, you know
what I'm saying, because that's really important.

Speaker 5 (32:06):
That has really no.

Speaker 8 (32:08):
Statement about you know, helping you know, the VA. I
want you to. I want to explain some of you. Right,
the VA is there for us. Don't get it twisted.
It's just that the VA could do but so much.
And I'm gonna be very honest with you. Yeah, on
a budget and a budget just like any other agency.

(32:31):
So we standing but so much. And at the same time,
that's why we have veteran nonprofits. Right, that's no Remember
we worked for y'all to something. Now we need your help.
You understand they wife. You know, I don't beg for nothing.
I tell anybody, you send me one dollar. If if

(32:54):
one person out of everybody send me one dollar, man,
I can make this organization to a whole other level overnight.

Speaker 5 (33:02):
Right.

Speaker 8 (33:05):
I'm not acting for five, ten, twenty, I'm not great.
You send me fifty sent Everything tells yes, because we
need to help up the American people to make our
people live in a better space. Because you know, it's
you know, it's about the veterans, but it's also about
the people that we fought for for me to come home,

(33:27):
for me to come home with my mind not even right,
with PTSD and D my brother or my sisters living
in the streets. That's crazy. You know, keep kind of
running around with mental health issues instead of them to
create a place to take care of our people. They

(33:49):
let them roam the street, and they're roaming amongst our people.
You got of people pushing people on the train. You
got people stabbing people for no reason when they know
these people with mental health issues. Right, why we're not
taking care of our people. That's still somebody's child, that's right, boy, child,

(34:11):
he got mental health issues, that's somebody's child. You know
what I'm saying. At one time he was taking care
of what you diet. Now you understand. You see, this
is America's problem. It's like our mental health system. Then
people became trash, believe me, they just totally ignore them

(34:32):
real and then you got family members that get checks
for them. Right, they let them come to their house
at the end of the month, clean them up, let
them stay for days and eat, and they back in
the street because they're living for their chech And that's sad.
But there's so many circumstances. So we're trying to make
it where we can help these people. You got people

(34:53):
living in nursing homes. They work for their lives. They
died from the military, they were tired to jobs. They
get like ten thousand, right, they got all this, but
guess what, they don't cover their healthcare. Wow. So so
nursing home. Right, the nursing home gets all of their money,

(35:15):
sell their property and all of that. Because everything if
they haven't put a proxy in five years before, if
they don't put that in, everything goes to the nursing home.
And that's sad, you know. So what we want to do,
we want to try to create it where we have
us CMA's Home Health Aids where they could go and

(35:37):
help these veterans because your insurance will pay for a
certain amount and you get enough money to pay the balance,
and you could still have six seven thousand a money,
all your bills is paid and everything and you still
live a comfortably. You understand, and you're not trash because
you did something for this nation, and you should be

(35:59):
honest for the rest of your days, especially when you
put your life on the line. You understand. And people
look at and say you're like, I'm a combat veteran,
but you know you have veterans that they say they're
not combat veterans. Every veteran is a combat veteran. To me,
if use women's serve, put your life on the life
of this nation, whether you combat or not, it doesn't

(36:23):
matter because you got to look at it. When he
wasn't in combat. You know how many training exercises took
the lives of so many marines more than their combat,
just going to trade, doing the same over and over
and over and over, mistakes. Happy, you understand what you

(36:43):
got to remember. I was seventeen years old, our little
kid going into a man's work, you know how many
seventeen took of our life for the country, see what
I'm saying. And people have to recognize that. You know,
when you see a veteran, you know, to take your
at off to a veteran. You know, if you see

(37:05):
a veteran in the street and you walk by them
every day, you know, give him something to eat sometimes.
Let me explain some of you, Paul. I remember you
used to walk into the train station right on to
Avenue get the COVID. There was a man out there
with a dog. His name was Warren. You know they

(37:28):
used to come and feed that dad one dog.

Speaker 5 (37:31):
But then you see them, Wow, wow, the dogs.

Speaker 8 (37:36):
Something to eat. And you know, I understand about people
in pets. You know, like I asked the person and
they looked at me and turn their nose up. I'm like,
you know, these are people and these as pets. These
are animals. They're both lives. But you're gonna make it
my animals life is more important than mine or human beings.

(38:00):
You know they both alive. But why would you feed
the dog before you feed the human when you can
make the human strong? Well, you could take kids.

Speaker 5 (38:09):
Dog right right?

Speaker 8 (38:12):
You under right? You know trank. No. So you know
they they say, well, I'll give you an example, Okay,
in Long Island that that cat farm got burnt down. Uh,
they got two hundred cats that they got a place
in homes. They've given so many go to me funds

(38:34):
to rebuild this and all of that. But imagine if
that was a shelter with people living in it. Do
you think they would do the same thing.

Speaker 5 (38:45):
No, they should.

Speaker 8 (38:47):
We know, we got our we got our prose wrong,
you know. And you know I talked to one lady
and I answer, you won't even donate to a nonprofit
that will help another human being, but you donate to
the p what is it, the p S what they
called it, Yeah, any nonprofit because these pets they needed

(39:13):
more than them. They don't talk back, they do what
they told.

Speaker 5 (39:17):
I'm like, wow, wow, yeah, what a what an answer?
What a response? Wow? Wow?

Speaker 4 (39:26):
Well, I tell you, I'm just flabbergasted behind this because
you know, for so long we all you know, are
here about being a veteran, you know what I'm saying,
But we don't hear the war story beyond right, the
war right or or you know, we don't you know,
you just take for granted, and and again you assume

(39:49):
that the government is going to do the right thing,
you know, and buy the veterans and helping them in
ways that they can, you know, be it like you said, emergencies,
be it, you know, food clothing. Again, it's just uh
so hurtful because you brought up points that you don't
even think about because you've never been there.

Speaker 5 (40:08):
Like you said, so many.

Speaker 4 (40:10):
People have lost their lives, even in training. Because I
remember a story you told me, and I'll never forget it.
You know, when you was in training and you literally
watched a friend of yours because y'all had to go
into the ocean and you had to have all your
gear on or whatever, and you said that there was
a shock that came and just you know, or the

(40:31):
time that you spoke about, you know, just seeing a
former you know, marine just get blown up, you know,
you know while driving in their vehicle.

Speaker 5 (40:43):
You know, it's it's just it's so huh, I said.

Speaker 8 (40:49):
You.

Speaker 5 (40:51):
Yeah, I just you know, I I But what I want.

Speaker 4 (40:54):
You to know is that those kind of stories made
such a difference.

Speaker 5 (40:59):
And this is the reason I think we just or
I just choose to continue helping.

Speaker 4 (41:05):
Just like you. You know, I think it's a family thing.
You know, started with Aleeni and you know, and.

Speaker 5 (41:11):
Just just follow through, you know again Arline Young and
I'll give her the respect that she's do.

Speaker 8 (41:16):
You know.

Speaker 4 (41:17):
It just started from the beginnings, our beginnings, and we
were taught that you have to give back. You can't
forget about your community. And I just thank you again
so much for saying all that you are saying and
just giving to the listeners who are vets that are
sitting there in this very you know place, even if

(41:38):
they're home, they have a home and you know, and
they have family that's there. It's a struggle now. The
economy is bad right now. So anything that you guys
are doing for any that.

Speaker 5 (41:50):
Is just a blessing, you know. And we just again
commend you so much for wanting to do it. That's
number one. You want to do that.

Speaker 4 (41:59):
You want to make the difference in someone's lives, you know.

Speaker 5 (42:03):
And and and.

Speaker 4 (42:04):
Again that's always been you, Jeffrey. You've always been that,
you know, uh, to our family, you know what I'm saying,
because again, you know, we have to pass that torch
and pray that our kids will be doing the same
things you know, and and I just I love you, bro,
I love you. You know you're like because but you
know you like my brother. We grew up, you know,

(42:25):
you know that. I'm just so blessed that you were
able to come on this platform and let the listeners
know what what it's really about, the real story, the
things that you don't hear about, you know what I'm saying.
And vets are are going through you know what I'm saying.
Listeners you are listening to to you know, veterans helping veterans, and.

Speaker 5 (42:45):
We need to make a difference.

Speaker 4 (42:47):
We need to put more information out, you know, so
that people you know can can can make differences that
matter for these men and women that go out and
they and.

Speaker 5 (42:58):
They fight for our safety. You know, they keep us safe,
you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (43:04):
And that's not a small order when you're dealing with
all the countries that would of course rise up against
us at any given time.

Speaker 5 (43:12):
So I truly bless you, you know, for just being here.

Speaker 4 (43:17):
And I'm so so glad that you chose this platform
finally we get together to talk about this thing, because
it's something that's profound and it's something that's needed, you know,
what I'm saying, I have to ask you because there's
listeners out there that might be able to help you
know in any way, is there anything in particular.

Speaker 5 (43:35):
That you're in need of right now? Everything I know,
but in.

Speaker 4 (43:39):
Particular, is there anything that you need for someone to
reach out to you right now.

Speaker 5 (43:44):
For even if it's money.

Speaker 4 (43:46):
You know, hello, you know, this is the platform.

Speaker 8 (43:49):
I'm gonna be honest. What we need is, you know,
those donations since we've been since I've been doing this
for ten years, we've never got any donations or grants
from anywhere. Sponsorships, Yeah, yeah, I've been me and my partner.

(44:10):
You know, I'm going to say income, but I'll spend
my money and my partner spends his money on the regular,
you know, Uh, as we keep this organization ruling. You know,
so we've been spending our pocket I to spend hundreds
of thousands and he has too, and it's just getting

(44:31):
a little hard, you understand.

Speaker 5 (44:32):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (44:33):
You know I've been we've been blessed that. Uh, we've
been a lot for the apartments. That's our start where
we could get where maybe we could we it'll put
us in position to get from the federal government as
far as brands are concerned, but from the time being,
as far as us feeding in these pantries and try

(44:55):
to give, you know, the homeless what they need. We
need donations, and like I said, I'm not asking for
one thousand dollars, twenty dollars. I just take one dollar.
If everybody send me one dollar that listens in here today,
I can probably go out there and purchase this. I'm

(45:18):
gonna tell you we've got in Camden, New Jersey. They
got a spot there and I'll give you the number
what it said. It said two hundred ninety five thousand.
It's forty thousand square feet. We could create twenty single
resident occupancy, create a soup kitchen, and plus in an

(45:43):
area for veterans. Only thing is doing. We don't have
the money. You understand what I'm saying, but this is
things that we're working for. We're trying to get things
like that that we could put our veterans in a
special place, because no veteran should ever be understood, no fan,

(46:05):
you know, like you got on the way, that's don't forget.
You got the veteran that passed away. He had a family.
M Yeah, but who's check us out. So now since
the veteran is gone, what happened to the family will
turn our back on the family. That's what's been happening,

(46:28):
you see. Because I'm getting a hundred percent I passed away.
My wife don't get that hundred percent. She gets a
bit of money. How we've been living, she's been living
off of me. So she can't live like that no more.

Speaker 5 (46:44):
M hmm.

Speaker 8 (46:45):
That's what she should still be able to continue to
live like she lives because of what I've done. Yeah,
and what to do. Let me tell you something, you know,
don't get a twisted being a veteran with peja, see yo,
let me tell you something. Hey, I give my wife
a problem sometimes you understand, I'm not an easy tasy.

(47:10):
Sometimes I'm a handful, you know, and she has to
deal with the struggles and me having PTSD. She stands
by have a turns way. You know, you got so
many times give your examples. Coming out to service, you know,
me being a marine. They say, if you're married, got
marriage at gend it might it ain't gonna last six

(47:32):
months to say a year, And guess what it didn't.
I was out of that marriage in the sixth understand
what I'm so deal with the things that a woman
that she has to deal with. Marines, you know, Amn
Fellers soldiers. You know, at the end of the day,

(47:55):
they got to deal with our struggles. And it takes
a strong woman, believe me, And this is an odd
fearing for a woman. M give me to deal with
the lights. But you understand, you know, I take my
hat off to my wife, Esus, Jesus soldier.

Speaker 5 (48:14):
Trust she she God bless you, God bless you taking
care of that man. He was a brat anyway, you
know back in the day, you know as much as
I was. But you know, praise God, you know through
these storms, you know where where you were willing to

(48:35):
join the Marines.

Speaker 4 (48:38):
And figuring that they would have taken care of you know,
because back that was the whole thing. They would say
that you were gonna get taken care of right when
you join the military. And and then you go in
there and.

Speaker 5 (48:50):
You find out all this stuff. And I just like
I said, you know, I.

Speaker 4 (48:53):
Want to thank you, thank your wife for having you
on the show as well, you know, thank the veterans
you know helped and veterans just for being a platform
for the listeners on today. You know, God is so
good and he really needed veterans that are listening to
know that this is available. You know, this ministry, I'll say,

(49:17):
is available. This service is available.

Speaker 5 (49:20):
To you if you are sitting there and you are
in need of anything. This man has reached out his numbers,
his platform, his emails, his site, you know, for you
to contact. Please. This show is always aired and you
could also go to Spotify so that you can actually
hear this show and you can get all the information

(49:42):
if you hadn't been able to write it down. But
I just want you to know that this is available
to families of vets and veterans that are in need
of these services. So I would again I want to ask.

Speaker 4 (49:57):
I don't know if you have a cash app or
if you have a zel information that you can provide
to the listeners right now before we have to go.

Speaker 5 (50:06):
I definitely want them to be able to donate and
give something to you. Do you have any of that
set up? And if you don't, don't worry.

Speaker 4 (50:15):
You know, I can always get it from you later
and I will add it to my Facebook page, Paula
Breon Facebook page, the testimony Facebook page.

Speaker 5 (50:24):
So that they can reach out. Do you have that accessible, Jeffrey.

Speaker 8 (50:29):
That's when I'm revamping my website and everything else to
donate for the stuff like that that's not prepared. But
I okay, they could take let me tell you something.
You know, they could take a self stamp envelope and
put my address on it and put one dollar on
American dollar.

Speaker 5 (50:49):
And well, I'll definitely share that. I'll share that on
my page so that people can reach out.

Speaker 4 (50:56):
Like I said, if you get a cash app set
up or a zel, you know, I will definitely uh
share that again. I again thank you, thank you for
being who you are always I mean it.

Speaker 5 (51:11):
I love you with the love of the Lord.

Speaker 4 (51:14):
I'm so blessed to know that I have a cousin
who's doing great work for the community.

Speaker 5 (51:19):
That's what it's about. We have to give in order
for God to bless us. And truly, I know you're
being blessed because.

Speaker 4 (51:26):
Your your your one thing that you started has been
multiplied and and and it's keep growing. And that's when
you know that you're doing a good service and God's
got you. So I just want to thank you again
for being on his platform. Listeners you've heard it, you
you know somebody who's a VET. I know you do,
you know, and we're reaching out to you for all

(51:48):
the help that we can get to help these VET
trends who have given their lives, some of them and
their families are in need.

Speaker 5 (51:57):
These are things you know, that are essentially and we
really cannot forget about them. We cannot. You know, we're
safe because of them. We are, you know, blessed because
of them and all that they've done.

Speaker 4 (52:14):
You know from you at Jeffrey seventeen years old. Hello,
you know what I'm saying. And you've given you your
life work you know, and energies.

Speaker 5 (52:22):
And you know, just to do what you have to
do for your for your men and women that have served,
and I so thank you so much. Is anybody you
want to give a shout out? I know your wife
probably right there, but is there anybody else you want
to give a shout out? Before you go?

Speaker 4 (52:36):
And again, I with this show, I always end in prayer,
So I don't know if you want to render a prayer.

Speaker 5 (52:42):
I said this to you earlier, but you're more than welcome.

Speaker 8 (52:47):
Well you know my friends is with too. But as
far as giving a shout out, I'm going to give
our shout out to the American people, you know, and
for abroad listening to you today, and I thank God
that they had the patience and they take the time
out to listen. You know, me as a veteran, I

(53:09):
appreciate this time that my cousin she lets Loot be
on her platform. It's a wonderful thing. She's a great speaker,
she's a great teacher, and she's one of the greatest singers.
I'm her greatest man.

Speaker 5 (53:26):
You are you are, thank you, Thank you God, Bless you, God,
bless you. Bro you my brother. You know that everybody
you know. Again we're gonna go to the throne.

Speaker 4 (53:38):
I just thank you, Lord, just for being all that
you've been to us, and again today is no different.

Speaker 5 (53:45):
You have inspired veterans on today.

Speaker 4 (53:48):
Lord, and and and lift them up with this wonderful
organization Veterans Helping Veterans. Father God, just I asked that
you would just keep my cousin and all the wonderful
people that are heading this ministry and that they would
do a wonderful and continue to do a wonderful work
for you, helping your people.

Speaker 5 (54:09):
Father God. We just asked this. In all that we
ask Oh my gosh, it's just we need you, Lord.
We need more of you.

Speaker 8 (54:18):
Lord.

Speaker 5 (54:18):
We need people to do more for these veterans. Lord.
And we ask all this in a precious name above
all names, Jesus Christ. Amen. Amen, Amen, you have just
been blessed. You have just been I'm sorry you were
saying something, Jeffrey. I don't want to cut you off. Amen.

Speaker 4 (54:41):
That's right, that's right. We are asking that again. You
do not forget this platform. We are on Spotify.

Speaker 5 (54:48):
You go to the testimony d a testimony and you
look this show up and I want you to give.
I want you to get this into your spirit. These
people we need your help.

Speaker 4 (55:01):
We need to give to the veterans today, tomorrow, no
matter what time it is. We just need to keep
doing it because this is something that is critical and
this is something.

Speaker 5 (55:12):
That truly has to be worked out. Okay, So I'm
pleading with you.

Speaker 4 (55:17):
I thank Jerry Royce the Positive twenty one family just
for being all that you've been to me throughout the
years of me doing this show. Thank you so much
for this platform, Jeffrey. Thank you again for coming on
and blessing God's people.

Speaker 8 (55:31):
