you don't know what that stands for, it's the finally
inspired vessel, appointed and anointed for a time such as this. Hey,

this is the testimony and I am the Diva for Christ.
My name is Paula Brion and I bring this wonderful
platform to you every Tuesday night at nine pm Eastern
Standard time, and today will be no different. And of
(02:02):
course you know, we do nothing before we go to
the throne of God, Oh Father God. I just asked
that you would have your way with this the testimony,
show your platform, Lord, so that people can get closer
to you. Lord, I would just have you to work
this show in the way that you need to for
(02:25):
your people and for our wonderful guests. Lord, we ask
that you would just allow the listeners to get a
closer understanding of what it is to have a walk
with you Lord, in business and ministry. We ask that
you just allow the listeners to want to or have
(02:48):
the need to want to develop a closer walk with You.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Lord.
Speaker 6 (02:52):
That's what this is all about, through every test that
they go through and having it to take them to
their testimony in You.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
Lord.
Speaker 6 (03:00):
We ask all this in the precious name above all names,
Jesus Christ, a man, a man, a man God is
so good. Yes, how the listeners doing on today? We are, Oh,
I'm so excited. We are bringing you another uplifting and
(03:20):
inspirational show as we do every Tuesday at nine pm
Eastern Standard time. The testimony, the test that we go
through to take you to your testimony, your test. Yes,
we have to have a test in order for you
to have a real appreciation for the rich testimony, and
(03:41):
today will be no different. Yes, we bring to you
back to you at that because we've had him on
the show a couple of times, not just once, but twice,
and now this is three times. We're bringing this wonderful
man back. He is the founder of Mark Nixed Production.
He is a sound and lighting expert, a gospel dj
(04:05):
oh He is the president of the New England Gospel
Collaboratives Network, and so much more. This man goes by
the anointed name of Mark Star Wars.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Is he in the hapse, He is in the building.
My sister, how are you?
Speaker 6 (04:24):
How are you? Such a humbling and wonderful moment just
to be in your presence, I tell you you're such
a man of God. You believe him, you trust him,
and you're a hard worker. I'll be seeing your faithbook,
you doing your thing. You always here, there, everywhere, and
always have the opportunity to help folks. So I just
(04:45):
appreciate you for taking the time to be with us
another time so that we can have a little talk
about you and all the wonderful things that your ministries
and your business are doing for the community and for
God's people. Is that okay?
Speaker 1 (05:00):
That start with me? My sister?
Speaker 7 (05:02):
Is you know you, even when things are going hard,
you fire me backed up. So yeah, we're gonna do
the thing tonight. As my pastor would say, We're gonna
do this thing in Jac's.
Speaker 6 (05:12):
Name, Yes, Jesus Christ, Yes we need him always. But
you are such a beautiful guy. Let me let me
just start by by having you to set the tone
as to how it all began for you, uh in,
in in what you do and in ministry and definitely
(05:34):
a business because it's a business thing. What what how
did it begin for you? Did it start from young?
Did it start you know, just just point the picture,
paint the picture as to when it began for you.
Speaker 7 (05:46):
Well, you know, it all started early back in the day.
It actually it didn't start in church. It started in
the city streets of Boston, mass in the New England area.
And at the time I was one of the uh
off say five to ten the DJs in the whole city,
and so I got the opportunity to work with folks
and be backstage with the law of artists, you know,
(06:09):
for one DMC, the Curtis blow the EU and all
these tats and even you actually know my cousin Herb
Jackson from.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
Planning Patrol and all of those. And you know, I
thought back then that.
Speaker 7 (06:22):
I was really doing something, you know what I mean,
And it was basically I had no idea back then
that God was training me for where he has as me.
Now you understand what I'm saying. So like like it started.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
Then and uh, right before my mom my mom died.
Speaker 7 (06:41):
You know, I was because I was a mama's boy,
and I said to uh, you know, I was saying
to myself, I don't want my mother up there in
heaven seeing me down here on earth acting a pool.
It hit me upside the head of one of the
enlightening boats.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
So I really did. And I have company the movements
where I was like, which direction is my life thoughing?
You know.
Speaker 7 (07:03):
So I was having a conversation and I was saying,
you know, I said, you know, I was praying. I
was talking, and I says, God, well I know that
parable of the rich man giving up all of his.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
Wealth to follow you. And I was like.
Speaker 7 (07:16):
Do I got to do the same thing because I'm
Anybody that knows me knows I'm an equipment junkie. I
gotta have I got to know about the latest and
the greatest or whatever. So the funny thing was Dog
came up to me and said, listen, boy, I gave
you that gift and now you're going.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
To play for me.
Speaker 7 (07:31):
And I literally jumped in my car and went to
Circuit City.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
Those of us that remember Circuit City, and I just
thought got ease. And that's where it started.
Speaker 7 (07:40):
And you know, I had no idea that I'd be
doing the type of things that.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
We're doing right now, you know what I mean. But
I'm enjoying it.
Speaker 7 (07:48):
I love being you know, in the environment, creating wealth,
getting knowledge and just you know, connected the people to
God together.
Speaker 6 (07:59):
You know, I understand that.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
Now.
Speaker 7 (08:04):
That's where that's where it changed changed to fruition that
you know. And here we are even years later, and
like you said, we just started the New England Gospel
Collaborative Network. That's something that's been near and dear to
my heart because we're part of a national chapter called
the GIN, which stands for Gospel Industry.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
Network, but we represent.
Speaker 7 (08:24):
The New England area and and and you know, I'm
proud to be a part of that. I'm proud to
just know that, you know, we're working to put Boston
on the map as well, branding Boston to be on
that that map of where artists and people connect and
make things happen.
Speaker 6 (08:42):
He man, that that's that's a that's a heavy order,
you know, because we know there's power in that g
I N. And there's even more power with you joining
forces and and everybody else. I'm a part of it,
you know, and so many others.
Speaker 7 (08:54):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (08:55):
It's just a wonderful uh conglomerate of people coming together, people,
people that believe in God and want to do that
walk right. And that's one thing about Wells. He tells
you you ain't coming in here about Jesus, you ain't
coming in here doing the work of the Lord. This
is not the platform for you. And you know, I
(09:15):
really hold that as near and dear, you know, because
there's so many ministries that are really not focused there,
you know what I'm saying. They say they are, but
they're not, you know, so bless God for that. But
the new I mean the New England Gospel Collaboratives, it's
what doesn't comprise of I know it stems out of
(09:36):
g I N. But what is the specifics on that
particular platform that's the connection to GI M.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
Yes. So the vision of Bishop Wells was for.
Speaker 7 (09:47):
Everybody who he what we say, are influencers or people
that are in these areas making something happen.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
You know.
Speaker 7 (09:54):
He wanted to start individual chapters so that we can
network together and establish what goes in the kingdom. As
you know, everything going on in the world is already set,
you know, just like there's a world economy, there's.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
A Kingdom economy.
Speaker 7 (10:07):
And you know his vision is to see that move
as as you know, these new days and I say
the new days because you know, in light of everything
that's been going on in the industry, it's it's basically
it doesn't have the same validity as it did twenty
thirty years ago, you know what I mean, The industry
has shifted. Bishop Wells is calling for accountability, he's calling
(10:31):
for respect, he's calling for integrity. And that's how we
watch these organizations raised. And I respect that. I respect
that because you know, we we have a tendency to
start acting like man once we stop making it and
that's not what he wants us to do.
Speaker 6 (10:49):
Yes, And and that's real talk. You know, we have
to be accountable for all the things that we claim
we are in ministry and you know that's that's you know,
you don't talk about it unless you're really live in it,
you know what I'm saying. And every step should be
geared toward that, not where you're going left. And again,
we're not perfect people, but we should be striving. We
(11:10):
should be striving daily to be that person that God
would have us to be walking like he walk right
and that and that's that means everything. And I so
appreciate uh Bishop was for having that vision and wanting
that focus to be there, because it's so many people
that fall short, you know, when when it comes down,
they'll bend for just anything. But this man is truly
(11:32):
about God. We got to be about God's business in
this g I N war. So I truly appreciate that
and the and the just so that the listeners would
know what the g i N stands, Well, what does
the g i N stand for?
Speaker 7 (11:46):
It stands for everybody thinks just the drink, but it
actually stands for the Gospel Industry Network, and it is
and and and to let you know too, it's not
just a state wide chapter. We've got chapters in the Bahamas,
We've got chapters in the UK. So we're an international
organization as well as a national organization.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
And what I like about it is.
Speaker 7 (12:10):
The fact that there's a lot of opportunities to meet
the people in the industries without their entourages where people
meet on the same transparent level and we come together
and we make things happen.
Speaker 6 (12:24):
Honestly, that that is uh really that that that's what
it's about, you know, making things happen. We spoke about
you as far as you being a sound and lighting expert.
Did that come before the gospel spinning? Uh? You know?
Or you know being a DJ? Or was it vice versa?
Just just a curious to know.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
I started.
Speaker 7 (12:47):
I started DJing first and foremost way back in the day.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
I still remember the first.
Speaker 7 (12:52):
Man to give me an opportunity his day with Sonny Daniels.
He had a karate school as I was his little
after hours DJ.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
You know what I mean. But there was something about it.
Speaker 7 (13:03):
I had a deep passion for it and and and
as the years you know, progressed, a lot of people
got out of it, but I kind of.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
Just stayed with it.
Speaker 7 (13:11):
And you know it's it's it's a good income stream
too as well, if you you know, know how to
manage your money. So you know, I was always about
creating wealth and that's my other passion, you know, creating
wealth for the kingdom and going forward. But you know
the fact that I was djaying back then then I
got into you know, doing sound because doing sound, you know,
(13:34):
used to go to the concerts, and I used to
always watch the guy.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
In the middle of the of the of the uh of.
Speaker 7 (13:39):
The room, you know what I mean, the guy on
the big platform with the mixer, mixing board, and always
had a passion to find out about that and UH.
When I got into the churches and I started doing
putting soil systems in churches, it became more prevalent as
to you know what what that what that ministry is about.
Some people are made for the poolpit and others are
made for the for the vineyard.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
And I really feel that my place is in the vineyard.
You know.
Speaker 7 (14:04):
That's that's where I that's where I thrive, and that's
where I feel most comfortable at Now. If you gave
me the Bible and told me to go preach this message,
I would probably do it, but it wouldn't be what
I know.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
I wouldn't be doing what I was called to do.
You know. Some some folks are made to preach it.
Speaker 7 (14:20):
But I think I really feel my responsibility to make
sure that it sounds good and that the sound is
crystal clear, because we know that. You know, Satan is
the prince of the air. We say it all the time,
you know, but what does that? What does that really curtail?
You know what I mean like like, how do we
really understand that? How do we interpret that? And and
what I do is that's my interpretation of how that
(14:42):
you know, how that plays out?
Speaker 6 (14:44):
Yeah, that's a that's a beautiful thing. Yeah, it is it.
You're so truthful about one thing. As far as your walk.
You know, everybody's walk is not everybody's walk, right, because
God is the author right and he paints the picture
as to what you and leads you down the journey
where you need to be. And most people say, oh,
(15:05):
you can't be a pastor, you can't be a minister,
you know, unless you're in a popit the devil is
a liar, you know, because we ain't all falled to
be in the pulpit.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
You know.
Speaker 6 (15:15):
There's so much work outside of that church, out of
them four walls. You know that that is needed, and
we have to meet people where we are and in
order for them to even understand ministry. So I'm sure
that you have some encounters with people when you were
doing sound and you do it for the church, you
do it outside of the church. You know, tell me
(15:37):
an experience, you know something that comes to your mind
that someone came up to you and might have said
something where you know that your sound and lighting expertise
made a difference in their life and led them to
a closer walk with God. Do you have any of
those kind of things that might have happened to you?
Speaker 1 (15:56):
Actually I do.
Speaker 7 (15:57):
I was over at a station here in Boston, w
e ZE five ninety am, and I had my own
program on Saturdays.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
It was called the.
Speaker 7 (16:10):
My current program is called the Praise Fest and it
was called Inside the MCEE, which was Marx Christian Experience.
And I was on every Saturday. And I had met
this young man who started writing me because he was
he was incocerated at the time.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
He was incocerated.
Speaker 7 (16:27):
He used to say he used to listen to me
every Saturday and how much the music blessed him, or
something that I might have said. And you know, he
eventually he got out. And the funny thing, I'll.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
Never forget it.
Speaker 7 (16:39):
I went to go see William McDowell one time and
him and I ended up sitting in the same row
in the same row. And you know, he told me
how much like listening to my program, you know, just
got them through those times of being in there.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
And you know I didn't. I didn't take that for granted,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 7 (17:00):
The Bible says each one and reach one or you know,
as I'm paraphrasing, we all had that responsibility to bring someone.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
To the light. You know, it's just how you do it.
Speaker 7 (17:09):
It doesn't have to be, oh, you're gonna give your
life to Jesus and you're gonna or you're gonna burn
in hell.
Speaker 1 (17:14):
It's not one of those things.
Speaker 7 (17:15):
It could be somebody who's watching you, somebody who you
helped while they were going.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
Through something we don't know, you know.
Speaker 7 (17:22):
And so it really meant a lot that he would
listen to each to write me letters to saying how
I was getting them through his dark times and all
that stuff, and we ended up meeting. I lost track
of him after a few years, but you know, we
always managed to stay stay in touch. But you know,
and the funny thing he said, like there's always people.
Not everybody loves Jesus, you know what I mean. And
(17:46):
the funny thing is not the funny thing, but so
recently my past a big shout out of love to
pass the ego AZD of Empowerment Christian Church. We just
bought an old CBS in a city called and right
now while we're renovating our building, we have church outside
on Sundays because my pastor's out of the box. So
(18:07):
we have what's called the D three Worship experience and
we are outside in the parking lot. He actually preaches
from the back of his pickup truck or the back
of the vehicle or whatever, and we're in back. We're
in back of like a plaza. So of course I'm
doing the sound for it. And we recently got some
complaints from the neighbors about the noise, the noise they
(18:30):
called the gospel noise on Sunday mornings, you know, so
much so that I had to, you know, kind of
reduce the size of the system and you.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
Know, lower the boat the volume a little bit. But
it just goes to show you, you know, who people
who people really.
Speaker 7 (18:45):
Are, Like there are some that believe and then there
are some who had just committed.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
To committed to chaos, you know.
Speaker 7 (18:53):
So you know, and you when you when you ask
me that you got me thinking about all those different things.
Speaker 6 (18:59):
You know, you know it's real, it's real. I mean,
ministry is ministry is what it is. And and like
you said, it will meet you where you're at. And
some people just are not receiving and and you know
that's such as life. Right, we know those kinds of
things are gonna happen. But that doesn't deter us. Like
(19:21):
you said, you just lowered the system down. You didn't
cut it off. So God, you know, Hey, that's that's
real talk. Man, that's real ministry. You ain't gonna give
up just because of one, uh complaint or you know,
somebody just not happy about what's going on. We have
a job to do. We have a job to do
(19:42):
and it's for the Lord, and we don't play with that.
That's one thing I know about you. You ain't playing
with that. So that that's just a wonderful thing you
you have start started. So you have so many different
ministries going on and you're helping so many people, like
you know, you tell us you you just had a
gospel fest, right or yeah, tell us more about Yeah,
(20:04):
tell us what happened all the things that you've been
doing in this season.
Speaker 7 (20:08):
Well, I got to give a big shout out to
the city of Worcester aka the WU and when I
bring you to Boston, We're gonna definitely bring you out
to worcestera because it's an up.
Speaker 1 (20:17):
And coming area. And for the last ten years, there's
a sister out there.
Speaker 7 (20:22):
Named Michelle Memnon of Spiritually Fabulous and she's actually one
of the members in the New England Gospel Collaborative Network.
So basically last Saturday, she had her tenth annual Gospel
Fest downtown in the city of Worcester and it was
by far amazing And from the moment I got there,
the atmosphere was just unreal. They had a gospel DJ
(20:46):
spinning the music, and what I really liked is it
was these.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
I'll say, these seasoned.
Speaker 7 (20:52):
Saints that came in and they just started bopping to
the music and they was getting their praise on and
I knew from that moment that it was going to be.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
A special day, and so it was. It was.
Speaker 7 (21:04):
It was a very special day. We I was the
MC for the tenth annual ten year you know, the
ten year anniversary, but we brought some artists up there
for Boston as well as the artists out there in
Worcester and we had a time in the Lord and
it was amazing. So again I gotta give Michelle memnon
Spirity fabulous a big shout out. And I can't wait
(21:26):
because next year we're gonna have you come up there
with my sister. We're gonna we're gonna bring you to
the WU and let you do your best.
Speaker 1 (21:34):
Some gospel house music, you know what I mean.
Speaker 6 (21:36):
Yeah, yeah, bringing it full, yeah, I tell you, you know.
And like the fact that seniors came out and they
were like in the place and they were having fun
and enjoying, you know, and and a lot of times
you know, uh, and that's so refreshing to hear that
that they were there and they were enjoying it. So
(21:59):
because sometimes sometimes they could be the hardest ones, they
could be the ones that judge you more than anything
when there's something different happening in the kingdom, you know
what I'm saying. So it really is wonderful to hear
you say that.
Speaker 7 (22:13):
Well, you know, it was refreshing to see that because
you know, you say, you hit on something right there.
You know, today I feel that there's too much judgmentalness
going on. And what I mean by that is, I
work deep within the industry. I support all genres of
gospel music, whether it's Christian hip hop, whether it's quartet.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
I love my choirs, I love.
Speaker 7 (22:39):
Christian hip hop. I support it all. Why because it
points to the Father.
Speaker 1 (22:45):
You know, you go into some.
Speaker 7 (22:46):
Of these older and more religious churches as I would
call them, and you know they're talking all I don't
like that Christian hipnie hop stuff and all of that.
But you got to think about this. There's two perspectives,
and the first one is being this.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
If my child is listening to some Christian hip.
Speaker 7 (23:02):
Hop that gets them to recognize who God is, gets
them in church and lets them know it's okay to
like that style of music and still praise.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
God, I'm all for it. I'm all for it.
Speaker 7 (23:14):
Because the way and the second point is this, the
way you sing amazing Grace ain't the way your grandmother
sang amazing grace. And the way your grandmother sang amazing
Grace is not the way Jesus sang amazing grace. So
who will we to judge the style of music? You understand,
you know, you just have to find the effectiveness of
(23:38):
the music or the style of music that you like,
but you shouldn't frown on it. It's just like they say,
you know, you know because you're a Christian, you're a
gospel house artist. And I know that you get those
funny side eyes when you go places in minsture, but
you know it's strong. People don't look at the value
of what you do. That's how energy praise music. You know,
(23:59):
church love to eat. I've been trying to get my
daughter for the last two years to listen to a
gospel house track because she's a personal fitness trainer, and
I told her her ministries to go around the churches
and do like a twenty minute a thirty minute workout
session and have Christian gospel house music as your catalyst
for the workout.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
You see what I'm getting at. We love listen. We
don't turn down no fried chicken, we don't turn down
no coffee, greens and mac and sins.
Speaker 7 (24:28):
But you can go in up just like you got
Wednesday night Bible study. You can do it Tuesday night
gospel workout for twenty minutes and really just take it
to the next level.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
And she doesn't see the value of it. I do.
Speaker 7 (24:40):
The moment I heard gospel house music. I was like, Yo,
this would be great workout music. They do it all
the doings on the ground and stuff like that. We
can get bibles on the ground.
Speaker 1 (24:49):
You know what I'm saying. That's it well, and that's
the way I see it.
Speaker 6 (24:55):
Yeah, it's real. Mark, You're touching on something that's very
near and dear to me because a lot of people,
like you said, they frown up at it. They feel like,
you know, that's an unwanted music and style of genre
for the Christian community and it and it really that
kind of attitude they had it with hip hop. But
(25:15):
we broke that. We broke it down right. We came
on in and people had to receive it because it's
all God's music, you know, and it doesn't it's not
one thing or another. It just cracks me up where
you know, you know, you have saints that say God
could do all things but fail, and we believe him
for all the change. But then there's just some things
(25:36):
they just ain't gonna they fail. Oh no, no, no.
When that dance music or that house music comes on
right away, oh it's blasphemy because you dance it, and
I'm like, wait a minute, did not David dance. He danced, So.
Speaker 1 (25:50):
It's all so.
Speaker 6 (25:53):
Exactly blessing, you know. So it's like, but they really
got a thing with that, and it's it's it's learned
old behavior that really has the sage. I mean, look
at what they did with Kurt Franklin. They tore him
up in the very beginning, you know, just coming in.
But what a difference he made for the youth, What
a difference made to the community, you know of And
(26:15):
just like I mean, it's just it goes on and on.
We'll be here all day talking about that because that's
such a touchy subject for me. I even was supposed
to do an interview and someone did not even want
to interview me from Africa and because of the music
and saying that my style of music would not be accepted.
(26:36):
And I was like, wow, so little, such a.
Speaker 1 (26:39):
Live thing, you know.
Speaker 7 (26:42):
As you said that, as you said that, my grandmother's
was one of the first to spew spew down on
Kurt Franklin back in the day. Well guess what Kirk
Franklin's music got me digging, digging deeper into where I'm
at today.
Speaker 1 (26:55):
You understand, listen, listen.
Speaker 7 (26:58):
You can't judge nobody for what they do, because we
all sind and fall.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
Short of the glory of God.
Speaker 7 (27:03):
I'mud I got my issues just like anybody else. I'm
gonna repent. I'm gonna hold myself accountable, and I'm not
gonna act like I'm holier than dial because I'm not.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
That's it. I'm a whip.
Speaker 7 (27:16):
I'm a whip. I'm a work in progress, and that's
the way I see myself. I don't try to portray
myself as being, you know, the next big thing or
anything like that. All I want to do is help
people get to Christ or get closer to Christ.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
And that's through what I do.
Speaker 6 (27:32):
That's right, and that's what He built you up to do.
You know, this is what people understand. He had to
take you through the highways and the byways for you
to get to where you are today acknowledging him. But
the talents and the gifts that He gives us is
to elevate and and and bring His kingdom to a
whole another level in him, and people don't understand that.
(27:52):
You know, the house is my thing. That's what I
came into the industry under. You know, so house music,
dance music is something that he use to give a
and you know, as a DJ, what does house music,
what does what does house music do for the industry?
It flips it. It gives it a new life, It
gives it a new refresh anointing of what was, you know,
(28:16):
like like you have an old song, right and when
you put that spill on it and you take it
into the dancer area, it becomes a whole new song,
you know what I'm saying. It becomes a whole new
shout dance.
Speaker 8 (28:30):
You know.
Speaker 6 (28:30):
It just gives a new life. It breathes life, and
that's what God is about, breathing life into those that
are that are lost, you know, those that you know
from yesteryear that need a refreshing, right, a refreshing you know.
For It's just what it is, you know. And I
just really thank you just for being on this platform
(28:53):
because again you're a gospel DJ who who does not
divide as far as gen and what styling that you
And that's why I give kudos and I always do
every time we on, you know, to the DJs, because
without DJs, where would my music be? Where would my
music be? And not just because I'm a dance house artist.
(29:13):
They have rebirthed songs, you know, such as you are
my friend. We know that Kenny Boby, I mean, just
took it to a whole another level. Yes, who would
have thought that anybody could do anything else with a
song such as that that was historic from the Wizard
of Ours on to Patty Labelle's version and just yo,
Kenny took it to a whole other level and it
(29:35):
became a new birthing. And that's what it's about. That's
what it's about to be a Christian. Amen.
Speaker 1 (29:41):
Amen, That's what it is.
Speaker 7 (29:42):
And people gotta realize it didn't start and start with.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
Us, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 7 (29:49):
And for us to think that you got the right
to judge somebody's gift, who are you?
Speaker 1 (29:55):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 7 (29:55):
The gift that God gave you the Gospel House is
not the gift that God gave me. But I'm gonna
work with your gift and put your gift with my gift,
and we're gonna make a joyful noise unto the Lord.
Speaker 1 (30:06):
And that's the way you're hitting, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 7 (30:10):
And some people hate because you got you know, you
only got a half of talent and I got four
and you got five, and this one got three and
you got a half of one.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
But that half of one is very detrimental.
Speaker 7 (30:21):
Once you find out where it's supposed to fit instead
of hating on everybody else.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
And we got to stop that, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (30:28):
And riding the gap. Yeah, bringing the gap, bringing everybody
full circle together, Bro, that's what it's about, you know,
that's what makes powerful powerful ministry.
Speaker 7 (30:39):
Like like you and I were talking earlier, and you know,
we were talking about putting a showcase together that bringing
you know, artists from Boston down to your area and
bringing your area up to Boston and bringing you up
to Boston. I want to see this happen because you
know what gets me They sit there and frown on
the thing. But why can't who's to say we can't
have a nice Christian cafe to.
Speaker 1 (31:01):
Go hang out? Why do we feel that we got
to go to a club and hide who we are
right to have a good time.
Speaker 7 (31:08):
Yes, we want to go on a date night or
something like that, So why can't we have a Christian
cafe and have a Pollmrio doing some house music in
a doctor d big shout out of love to doctor
d you know, be in the gospel.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
DJs and celebrating fifty years.
Speaker 7 (31:23):
I get all of that. But who's to say we
can't have that. Why do we feel we got to
go out and hide who we are to have a
good time. We shouldn't, you know.
Speaker 1 (31:32):
That's one of the things. That's one of the visions
of my pastor.
Speaker 7 (31:35):
We're going to take our church and convert it into
a Christian cafe on Saturdays, and we're gonna have artists
come through and.
Speaker 1 (31:41):
Bless the blessed the abilities, and bless the people that
are there.
Speaker 7 (31:45):
We're gonna have we kept the drive up drive through
windows so you could have drive through prayer.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
You understand what I'm saying.
Speaker 7 (31:51):
That's about working and creating things inside the kingdom that
is supposed to be valuable, because as you know, we're
approaching some times right now.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
You read about it, but we live in it. Read it. Yes, Lord, the.
Speaker 7 (32:09):
Same things aren't going to last. The same things aren't
going to last.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
The only thing, truly, what you do for.
Speaker 6 (32:17):
God, right, that's right, that's right. Only the things we
do for the Lord will last. And that's that's a
that is His commandment on us. That we should love
on one another and and be about one another's business,
and you know, sharpening one another to make us the
best tool for His kingdom. And then and the sooner
(32:38):
people realize that, the better off we will be, because
like I said, I sang all kinds of secular songs
back in the days when I was clubbing. Yes I
was there, but I tell you there was deliverance that
took place in those places. There were women and it
came up to me crying out because of the songs
that I ministered to their soul, you know. And sometimes
(33:01):
you know they're not ready for the Christian walk where
they can ingest you know, the verses of Bible, you know,
and different things like that. So you meet people where
they are and that's you know, it's a wonderful thing,
you know, because like the best thing that ever happens.
You know that of course Lad at Night classic historic,
but looking when James Cleveland took and flipped that thing,
(33:25):
you know, because it's about taking back what the devil
has stolen and given it back and given the honor
to God with it and doing what's right, you know,
And and that's really what it's about. And that's definitely
my ministry. I will sing any kind of secular song,
but I'm giving it back to the Lord. I'm gonna
give it back to the Lord, you know when I
(33:46):
get on that platform.
Speaker 7 (33:48):
Right. And that's just like that testimony, like I was
backstage with the best of them.
Speaker 1 (33:52):
I am not gonna lie.
Speaker 7 (33:53):
I've been backstage, and I can tell you what goes on.
You hear about it on TV. I was there. You
understand when thing and and and the fact that you
know I didn't look at it back then. I thought
I was I was the man back then, you know,
I'm backstage with so and so and so. But now
you know, God's got me around these people on a
regular and and it's like we we respect each other
(34:16):
on a whole different level.
Speaker 1 (34:18):
And what I mean by that is, you know, you
don't know.
Speaker 7 (34:21):
You're so busy getting caught up in your emotions. You
don't know what God's preparing you for. You understand, like
look at look at I saw a video of you
singing last week and it was I was just blown away.
Speaker 1 (34:32):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 7 (34:33):
And and so you know where I'm at is that
we have to stop focusing, stop acting like like you
said earlier, stop acting in the natural and act out
in the spiritual, because that's where you're going to catch.
Speaker 1 (34:46):
Everything that's right, that's true.
Speaker 7 (34:49):
You don't touch everything, you know, So people just you know,
like I got this latest project, big shout out of
love to the Glory Movement out of Cleveland, Ohio. I'm
doing my first gospel stage play here in Boston, and
after I swore I'd never do anything else here because
the market doesn't really support and you know, we have
(35:12):
fifteen hundred churches in the city of Boston. I shouldn't
have a problem, but it's not always that. But I'm
still stepping down on faith, and you know, understanding, I'm
being obedient.
Speaker 1 (35:23):
If God says do it, I gotta do it.
Speaker 7 (35:25):
And I got to also be expecting that there's going
to be a provision. He's not going to send me
out there just to see me go through something, you.
Speaker 1 (35:33):
Know what I mean.
Speaker 7 (35:34):
And so that being said, you know, we're getting ready
for our first production coming up this Saturday. I've got
a gospel play coming to Boston. A good man is
easy to find, Okay, So to those young single sisters
out there, the catch to this line will make you
want to be there, and when you leave this play,
you will not leave the same.
Speaker 1 (35:54):
Way you walked in. I can assure you that.
Speaker 7 (35:57):
And I met this young man, Nathaniel Burgess Junior, back
in Nashville, and he was talking about his play and
they're doing it all, not just all over the country,
but all over the world.
Speaker 1 (36:07):
And so we got an opportunity to bring him here.
We're bringing him here this Saturday. I'm excited.
Speaker 7 (36:12):
I'm worried, but I'm stepping out on faith and I'm excited,
you know, all in the same so you know, but
I'm believing in God that he gonna.
Speaker 1 (36:20):
Make this thing happen.
Speaker 7 (36:21):
And so that Wan said, you know, we're gonna step
out on faith. We're gonna do what we gotta do,
and we're gonna.
Speaker 1 (36:27):
Be his ride or die on this one.
Speaker 6 (36:30):
I said, And you know what, God is not a
god that we should fear anything, because we know who
we belong to, and we know who you served. And
as long as we have Him with us and we're
about him, you know, how could it fail if it
ain't nothing but two people in there. You're making a difference,
you know what I'm saying. And that those same two
(36:52):
people will go back and tell other people you know,
and that, and that's really what it's about the word
of mouth. You know, the mouth about the tongue being
a devastating thing. But we know that the tongue can
also uplift and inspire. And as long as we keep
our focus on that, that's what it will be, no
(37:12):
matter what nobody say. Because again, it's it's about being positive.
Like you, we were talking earlier and you was like
you saying try, don't say try, And I appreciate that.
I appreciate that correction, because you don't try. When it
comes down to God, you do. You do because He's
given you the strength to do it right. You are
(37:34):
still standing, You are still here. So there're anything that
you may need. He is gonna equip us with because
of what we believe and because of what we know,
because of our many experiences. Hello, you know to where
He has brought us from that we know that there's
a bread, there's a light at the end of that tunnel.
Speaker 1 (37:54):
Amen.
Speaker 6 (37:54):
You know. So God is good.
Speaker 1 (37:57):
God is good, and he will phenomenal.
Speaker 6 (38:02):
That's why we listen that. I mean all I was
saying that we encourage each other that's what it's about.
Speaker 1 (38:09):
Bro.
Speaker 6 (38:10):
You know us, You know I don't. I didn't know
you for long, but I know you now. And that's
what makes the difference. The things that we're gonna do
at this point. You ain't about what happened in the past.
It's about what we're doing at this point and how
we clean them things to do a greater work and
a greater work in His for His kingdom. And that's
what kingdom building is all about. That's what that's what
(38:33):
real authentic Christianity is all about, doing what we need
to do to edify the God that we serve, you know,
and that means everything to me. So I just kudos
to you. Now. You know, there's a lot of listeners.
We've got so many listeners expanding out as far as Africa.
Let me let me ask you, what if you had
(38:55):
to talk to the listeners and give them some kind
of advice, leave them with a word or a phrase.
What would that be for you?
Speaker 1 (39:03):
Mark?
Speaker 7 (39:05):
I would use my TPS phrase that seems to be
the one that really stands out.
Speaker 1 (39:10):
To me the most.
Speaker 7 (39:10):
Right now, push persevere and you will succeed.
Speaker 1 (39:16):
And I really you know, my wife bless her soul.
She always gets all me saying.
Speaker 7 (39:21):
I always like she's always hearing me giving somebody advice,
a minister and so so, you know, to somebody and
she says to.
Speaker 1 (39:26):
Me, do you ever listen to what you say? And
that really got me thinking.
Speaker 7 (39:30):
You know, and even as I prepare for this play,
I need prayer.
Speaker 1 (39:35):
I need prayer. I'm not gonna lie about it. Pray
for me, y'all.
Speaker 7 (39:38):
You know, this is my first thing and it has
not been easy, but you know what, we're going through
it anyway. I'm pushing, I'm persevering, and in the end,
I know I am going to succeed.
Speaker 1 (39:47):
You know what I mean. I know he didn't bring
me out in this.
Speaker 7 (39:49):
Bar hing and so that's what I would use. Puts
persevere and you will succeed because you know, the greater
things you do in the kingdom, the greater resistance you're
going to.
Speaker 1 (39:59):
Get on the way on the way there. Oh yeah,
you know, oh yeah, we feel.
Speaker 7 (40:03):
Like you know you heard that that that phrase. You
know everything's coming at you. You know, the kitchen sink
except for the kitchens. I'm getting the kitchen sink. I'm
getting what it's attached to. I'm getting the support, themes,
I'm getting the foundation at me everything. But tell me,
you know, I gotta be close. If it's if it's
really like this, that's.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
Right, that's right, it's coming at me like that.
Speaker 6 (40:30):
Yeah, just lean on him. Uh Like, like we all
know you look to the hills for your strength and
and and we know that there there, He's there, He's there,
no matter what it looked like. That's why we don't
look at it through the natural eye, right, we look
at it through the spiritual eye. Because God can do
all things but fail. And so I will encourage you
(40:52):
on today, you know, and always, you know, do like
you said, a greater and even a greater work for God.
And watch watch what he do. That's what I tell
people about a language if that's wrong language and you know,
or for those English scholars, you know, just watch what
he'll do. He will make mountains move on your behalf,
(41:16):
you know. And and and we claiming that on today,
we're claiming victory and every and all things that you do,
more everything that you do for His kingdom. There is
no weakness when it comes down to God, even if
it looks weak for that moment, for that moment. But
he will do it.
Speaker 1 (41:36):
He will do it.
Speaker 6 (41:37):
As long as you believe it and you receive it,
he will do it. And you have, you've taken the steps.
It's coming to your town. You know what I'm saying,
so much more. Just just sit back and wait, because
there's gonna be so much more coming from that one
wonderful experience. And that's what that's what you want, what
you're doing is And I have that same thing with
(41:58):
where I'm at in Pennsylvania. You know, it just seems sometimes,
it just seems like a desert sometimes and you feel
like you're the only one in this thing, you know.
But that's why God has equipped you to be who
you are and and and given you this task because
He knows that we won't give up. We will not
(42:18):
give up, We will not give in, and we will
not fall victim to anybody, be it the devil himself
or his little ebbs. We will not. We will not
because that's just what we're built built with. And we're warriors,
right I said, that's the reason why we still left
on this Because we are warriors. We're gonna fight, fight, fight,
fight for the King of buildings and that and that
(42:41):
that's what that's what he's looking for. He's looking for
when he say put on your whole armor. He ain't
say just a shoe. He ain't saying and people ain't
even saying the shoe. As as as an armor. You know,
they ain't talking about the breastplate and it it still
the whole thing. Put it on, Put it on, don't
leave nothing of God because in this fight, in this battle,
(43:02):
you're gonna.
Speaker 7 (43:02):
Need it all.
Speaker 6 (43:03):
You're gonna need it all.
Speaker 1 (43:05):
You're gonna need it all because it's all coming.
Speaker 6 (43:07):
All of it, yep, and once one shot.
Speaker 1 (43:11):
Yep.
Speaker 6 (43:11):
But I so appreciate you. You know you, you are
uh a master gospel DJ. And I will say that
you know you you've definitely paved the way for so many.
I know you've helped so many in ministry and and
even before. But you, uh, you are the president and
(43:32):
founder of Mark Mixed Production, and I just want to
want you to talk to the listeners about that production
and that ministry that you have that you've been working
with thus far.
Speaker 1 (43:44):
Well.
Speaker 7 (43:44):
Mark Mixed Productions actually birthed about three years ago. It's
an official LLC. I'm a registered business. It's my passion.
It started out as you know, uh as the size
of the contracts that I was getting it called for
me to be legitimate. And and you know, even though
it's a sound reinforcement company, one of my bigger aspects
(44:06):
of what I do actually is consult and do sound
installations in churches. So if you're a pastor out there
and you want to upgrade your sound system, I might
not be in your city, but I can definitely guide
you to what you can do to improve it.
Speaker 1 (44:20):
There's the technology that we have nowadays could.
Speaker 7 (44:23):
Put me in your church, you know what I mean.
So I could recommend, but what I recommend something to you?
You know, I want you to follow the script to
the t in order to get to.
Speaker 1 (44:32):
Get to get the results that God has in store
for you.
Speaker 7 (44:36):
But that's one of my bigger passions is designing sound
systems for churches. How how to make that sound preaching
God's work just more effective?
Speaker 1 (44:45):
I do you know we have we we do sound
and lighting. I have lighting, so you know, and.
Speaker 7 (44:51):
What's really nice is, you know we stated earlier as
Christians we like to have a good time, so we
like to have that right atmosphere as well. And that's
why one of the things that I focus on providing
that right atmosphere. Your church might want to do a
fundraiser and you know, you might want to have a
dinner fundraiser, and you know, you want to be able
to set the tone.
Speaker 1 (45:09):
In the room, put some theme colors in.
Speaker 7 (45:11):
The room, have some great gospel music playing, you know, clear,
not loud, so you can have a conversation.
Speaker 1 (45:16):
So you can do these things. That's what we focus on.
You know.
Speaker 7 (45:20):
I do a lot of consulting to churches as well
as installations, one day rentals.
Speaker 1 (45:28):
Temporary systems while they upgrade.
Speaker 7 (45:31):
So you know, we provide a variety of services all
to help out, you know, just help get you to
the level that you want to be on or that
God has called you to be on.
Speaker 1 (45:42):
But we've been in existence.
Speaker 7 (45:43):
I've been doing music and sound and DJing for well
over forty years, and you know that's my passion, that's
my love, you know, and I think all my clients
who have given me an opportunity to do things for them.
So many churches I put sound systems in I could
I you know, if if you got credit from doing
sound systems, I'd be a bishop too. I say sometimes
(46:03):
I laugh when I say that, but honestly, I thank
God for the ability to you know, to have been
in as many churches and put sound systems in as
he's allowed me.
Speaker 1 (46:13):
To be in.
Speaker 6 (46:14):
Yes, yes, and so much more coming so much absolutely,
such a such a need or it's nothing. As a singer,
I tell you, it's nothing like your sound being right list.
Literally you can chuck them, you can chuck the lights
for a minute, but did that sound When that sound
is what it should be and it brings that vocal
out to where it needs to be, praised the Lord
(46:36):
for the sound man. And I came in because when
you you know, when you got a bad sound man,
you everything down down to dreams.
Speaker 1 (46:44):
So yeah, bless God. You know that. Amen, And it
as hasn't always been easy.
Speaker 7 (46:50):
But you know, it's funny thing you said that, because
you know I was talking to a big shout out
of love to the New England Gospel Collaborative Network, my team,
my administrative team. I think I got one of the
baddest teams on the planet. I've got We've got everything
from a travel agent to an event planner. We've got
our own sound companies. And I know that when we
all come together and bring our gifts to the table.
(47:12):
We're going to put on a dynamic production. Believe me
when I tell you we've got some great artists here
in Boston.
Speaker 1 (47:19):
Big shout out of.
Speaker 7 (47:20):
Love to Gabriel Levonn, Chris Bender, Disciple d I, Caleb
McCoy just to name a few. Marshall Lee, you know,
we've got some great artists. We've got we've got the
means in the platform to make them sound good. We're
working on some venues now, so I really think within
the next few years we are going to definitely be
making some noise in this region for the Kingdom in
(47:40):
terms of just artists coming through and having a good time.
Speaker 1 (47:43):
I love being a great host. I love being the
great host. You know, you come to my city, I'm
gonna make sure you're taken care of.
Speaker 6 (47:50):
That's it, and so it should be.
Speaker 1 (47:53):
So it should be.
Speaker 6 (47:53):
We We am pretty much doing a little bit of
the same thing, you know, in regards to bringing people
to our city. Sort of we can build these cities up.
That's why we're bringing the g I N as representatives
to to to the different cities that really don't know
what they can do on a Christian level for the God. Uh,
building up God's people and and his kingdom. And we're
(48:15):
just trying to introduce new things that you know, things
that they may be about, but never thought that it
would be working in the Kingdom of God. So we
just encourage everybody you know to come through and and
get in touch. Listen, this is the time. I definitely
need you to give your information to the listeners so
that they can reach out to you. Hello, Mark, did
(48:44):
I lose Yeah, it went out, it went out a

God who can do that. Father, give us the strength
and courage to perseverance, wisdom, knowledge, and all understanding to
navigate our way through. God teach us to be more
spiritual and less emotional. God, let us act more in
the spirit, not on our emotions. As we go forth,
Let us show love not just from our heart but
(52:00):
through our actions. God, let us connect as a kingdom.
You said in your word God that we are one
body with many members. Let those many members come together
and function as one body.
