Speaker 1 (00:04):
Hello, Hello everyone, and thank you so much for joining
me for Dally Spark with Doctor Angela. I'm your host,
Doctor Angela. Let's just you. Guys know who I am,
and you know what I like to do on my shows.
Say it with me. I want to enlighten, inspire, and
empower you to become your best self. Now. Scripture reminds
us that the tongue is a small thing that makes

(00:27):
grand speeches, but a tiny spark can set a great
forest on a fire. And that's what we want to
do today. We want to get you fired up about
our topic. Today. We'll be talking about being brave enough
to begin again. So you know what I'm gonna tell
you to do. Go be comfy, get cozy, get your copy,

(00:51):
or get your tea because we are about to get started.
Hello everyone, and thank you so much, thanks for joining
me here on Daily's Mark with Doctor Angela. I am
so happy to be able to join you this day.
I hope that you are having a wonderful day to day. Well,

(01:13):
today's topic is being brave enough to begin again. Now.
I know that sometimes we need just a little bit
of encouragement for those times when we're starting over, when
we're stepping into something new, or we might be doing
something a little bit afraid, but yet we know deep

(01:36):
down inside it's the right thing to do. So again,
welcome to the show where we bring light to our
lives or to the lives of others, and what we
do with our daily lives helps us figure out our purpose. Well,

(02:00):
today's message is one similar to that, and it deals
with your purpose. So the question is are you brave
enough to begin again? Now? I say it that way
because for some it will be initially stepping out are
you brave enough? And for others you were brave once

(02:26):
and it's now time for you to be brave again.
Maybe you're starting over. Maybe life didn't go as you
had originally planned. Or perhaps you were like me and
had to deal with cancer or a serious illness which
simply gave you no choice but to start over. Maybe

(02:50):
you feel like the restart button is heavier than the
first step ever was. If that's you, take a breath.
You're not behind, you're not broken, you're not alone. Today

(03:11):
we're walking through what it means to be brave enough
to begin again with hope, faith and power. There are
seasons where we don't just pivot we rebuild, a career, shift,

(03:34):
a relationship might end, a dream changes, or maybe we
simply outgrow what we once settled for. And the hardest
part it's not the rebuilding, it's giving yourself permission, permission

(03:56):
to begin again. You might be thinking, shouldn't I be
further along by now, shouldn't I be making X amount
of money? Shouldn't I be driving that car? Shouldn't we
live in that neighborhood? Or perhaps I shouldn't have to

(04:22):
dress like this anymore? Whatever your motivation is, I want
to remind you that it is okay to give yourself
the permission to hit the reset button on to start again.
But God isn't watching your clock the way that you are.

(04:45):
He's guiding you, and he's calling you. Isaiah forty three
nineteen reminds us this way, for I am about to
do something new. See I have already begun. Do you
not see it? Sometimes it's so hard for us to

(05:08):
see the thing that God is doing in our lives
because life has a way of being life. It has
a way of blurring the lines and skewing the boundaries
and making us temporarily confused or confounded about what it
is that we have been called to do. But I

(05:34):
want to reassure you that when the dust settles and
the fog is cleared, you will be standing exactly where
you need to be standing because you've held on to
God's hand. A fresh start isn't failure, it's faith in motion.

(05:58):
I can't say that enough that so many times we
discount the baby steps that we take, we discount the
slow steps that we take, thinking that everything must be
done quickly, that it must be done at a hurried pace.
And the answer, in fact is no, not everything has

(06:22):
to be done in a microwave. Sometimes things should be
done more like in a slow cooker, slow and low.
That it is purposeful. It is intention that gets that
job done. A slow cooker is a set it and

(06:43):
forget it almost type of meal. You can set it
and forget it first thing in the morning, and by
time you have returned home from work or a school
dinner is ready. You walk in and the house wells
so flavorful. You know that this is going to be good.

(07:05):
But you don't get to the good without first doing
all of the prep. You have to make sure that
the meat and the veggies, and the seasonings and all
of those wonderful flavors are in the pot. It does
no good to simply turn the pot on if you

(07:26):
haven't put anything in it. So many times we forget
that we have to do the work in order to
get where it is that we're trying to go. So
today I want to encourage you to throw in those potatoes,

(07:47):
include the carrots and some onion. Sure, put salt and pepper,
but don't forget to kick it up a notch. Perhaps
some cayenne. Is it some terrag or ginger that you
need to throw in there. Whatever it is, do what
you have been called to do. Add the spice and

(08:11):
the seasonings for your life, for your industry, and then
turn on the pot. Add what needs to be added.
We all need water, don't we add just a splash
where needed, Add a dash if you like. But whatever
you do, cover yourself in the word of God, and

(08:35):
then watch it cook. Watch it end up being exactly
what you thought it was going to be, delicious, tender,
and right on time every time. When we take it
to the Lord and we believe that what he says
is true about our lives, then we're able to stand

(08:59):
ten toe down, ready to make the progress as he
so calls now, it isn't always going to be easy.
Let's be honest. You know, sometimes it's hard, Sometimes it's difficult.
Sometimes it takes all of your faith. It takes those

(09:24):
around you that believe in your dream too, to help
keep you inspired, encouraged, and perhaps a little motivated as well.
What doesn't help is when people say that you're crazy
or of course you're not succeeding. Who told you that

(09:44):
you could be that person? But I'm here to remind
you that you have to be brave enough, and yes,
today is your day to be brave. To start over
takes more than just strength. It takes soul because beginning

(10:09):
requires vulnerability to admit the past didn't define you. It
takes faith to step without full visibility. It takes courage
to believe there's more for you ahead. It's tempting to

(10:32):
wait until something else is perfect, but faith doesn't work
like that. It's tempting to just call it all quits
and go do that thing that you know will be
tried and true. But faith doesn't work like that. It's
easy to just say, God, I give up, I'm tired

(10:58):
of trying. Give me something easy, But faith doesn't work
like that. Faith is stepping out while it's still uncertain.
Faith is stepping out when things are completely unclear. Faith

(11:19):
is trusting that that person that you love will be
exactly who God has called them to be. And this
is what God has called you to do. In the meantime.
So many times our lives have an ebb and a
flow where one is doing better than the other. That's

(11:45):
what faith is all about. Understanding that if one is
out ahead, then that's just fine because you're able to
watch their back, and when it's your turn to be
out ahead, it's their turn to watch yours. So in

(12:05):
all that we do understand that becoming you, becoming who
God has called you to be, you must trust where
He's leading you. Philippians one six reminds us this way,
he who began a good work in you will carry

(12:27):
it on to completion. Boy, is that something that I
had to remember when I was dealing with my illness.
Now those of you who have listened from the beginning,
and I thank you for doing so. You guys know
that my life verse is Jeremiah twenty nine eleven and paraphrasing,

(12:51):
I have held on to the words there's a hope,
there was a plan, and I have a future, and
because of that, I knew that there was something more,
something new, something exciting, something thrilling for me on the
other side of this illness, that I would be, in fact,

(13:16):
okay employed. Did God have a plan for me? So
I couldn't wait to get to my future. And here
we are. I am here with you today to encourage
you not to stop, not to let that distraction get
you off your game. I'm here to remind you that

(13:41):
life will always be life. And you know what I
mean by that, the way that you know they say
math isn't mathing. Well, sometimes life is lifing. Life can
give us such a ride sometimes that we wait a minute,
who wrote this script? I don't think I'm in the

(14:04):
right car. This can't possibly be what I agree to.
And yet here we are because you know what, perhaps
there's something that you needed to learn from this, EBB.
As opposed to always writing in the flow, every day

(14:26):
unfortunately cannot be sunshine. There are the days of rain.
Even in beautiful southern California. There comes weather every now
and again, and it's just for a season. During the
time where we are able to look at the blue
skies and enjoy all of the warmth that shines upon

(14:48):
our faces. We forget that the rainy season Winter will
be here soon enough, and in that we have to
learn how to deal with a little rain. Now, as
someone who grew up on the East Coast, Hello weather,
I am definitely aware of what seasons are and because

(15:12):
of that, it gives you an inkling of what your
life will be. Sometimes we are operating in spring, the
beauty of newness. Sometimes we are in the middle of summer.
Those days can be hot and human, but those days
can also be bright and shining and warm to our face.

(15:38):
Autumn has its own special way of being warm during
the day and crisp and cool at night, giving us
that just a position of ebb and flow within twenty
four hours. And winter. Now, we can't discount winter, because

(16:00):
because we all need a time to rest, We all
need a time to allow all the seeds that we
have planted prior in the year to do what they
need to do, to get down in there, to germinate,
to take root, and to go on and prepare themselves
to blossom. And bloom comes spring. So every season in

(16:26):
our lives has a purpose. We simply have to remember
what it is. So God doesn't do halfway on anything.
He doesn't do halfway on healing. He doesn't do halfway
on hope. He doesn't do halfway on blessings. He doesn't

(16:46):
do halfway on favors. He does everything in a full portion.
So if he's starting to stir in your life, your
blessings are about to rain down on you, be patient.
Be patient. The same way we see the rain walk

(17:11):
down the street of our neighborhoods, so does the blessings
in our lives. They come. They're coming. They might be
off in a distance, we might even be able to
smell it in the air, but no that it's coming.
There is purpose in this path. Bravery isn't loud. It's

(17:35):
simply saying God, I'll go again, Just lead me. All righty, everyone,
it is time for us to take a very short break.
But don't worry. When we get back, we will continue
this conversation, rave enough to begin again. We'll be back
right after this, and we are back. Thank you so

(18:19):
much for joining me for Daily Spark with Doctor Angela.
I'm your host, Doctor Angela, but Chester. Today we are
talking about being brave enough to begin again. Well, you
guys know that with everything that we do, there have
to be practical steps. We have to always find what's

(18:41):
going to work best in any given situation. So if
you're feeling the call to start over, here's how to
move with grace and purpose. Number one. Acknowledge the old season,
then release it, grieve what was, think it for its lessons,

(19:03):
and then let it go. That's the part where most
people forget or they kind of slow walk it. It's
the letting go. Now. I have given so much advice
over the years, and that is one of the parts

(19:24):
that unfortunately, when I ask, have you let it go?
That's it gets the motion resistance. I don't know, doctor Angela.
I tried, but it kind of came back or you know,
he said or she said, or they did or I felt,
and I just hmmm, yeah, I understand. Let it go.

(19:45):
It's all right. Let it go the same way that
we choose to go through our closets and let those
gently used items that we no longer are either able
to wear or we haven't worn in over two seasons,
or those wonderful shoes that were perhaps fashionable then and

(20:06):
they're not now, or maybe just maybe you just don't
like them anymore, or you bought them for a purpose
and there's no reason to ever use them again. It
doesn't matter. They were loved when they were loved, and
it's now time to let someone else love them now.

(20:27):
If we can feel that way about our former, our loved, lovely,
lovely clothing, right, if we can feel that way about
our clothing items or our shoes, then we should also
feel that way about making emotional, mental, and spiritual space.
Let it go and allow something new to be in

(20:52):
that place. Number two is pray for clarity, not control.
Oh my goodness, here's another one. What's did I say?
Play Pray for calarity, not for control. Ask God to
light the next step for you, not the whole staircase.
So many times we want to know the end of

(21:15):
the story, so we go to the end of the book.
You know, you go to the end of the book,
you read the last page, and it's like dump dut du,
Now I know what happens. Plot twist. The author knew
that you would do that, and that's in fact, not
how the story ends. They did something you know, flipydoodle
in like chapter seven, and because you didn't read chapter seven.

(21:38):
You don't know that that's not the real ending. That's
what happens in our lives. So many times we try
to jump ahead, we try to foretell what's going to happen,
not realizing that there's a blessing in between, and because
of that, the ending is going to be totally and

(22:00):
completely different. So if you had prayed for calabity, then
you would have understood the cues and you would have
been in a better place to understand what was really
going to happen. Number three, Start small, Start honest, but
start now now. I don't have to spend much time here.

(22:24):
You guys have hurt me say that before. So you
don't have to have a huge launch. You don't have
to have a party to kick anything off. It can
be you and your dog. In fact, it can just
be you at your desk, you sitting cross legged on

(22:44):
the bed with your laptop making the world go round. Right,
It doesn't matter with all of the extra stuff. That
the extra stuff that's for you, that's for you to
be able to celebrate way and look back later and
have that memory. But for so many people, that stuff

(23:06):
isn't what they want. What they want is the launch,
What they want is to kickstart this project. And once
they do, once it goes live, it's been published. Huh yeah,
now we're cooking right Like, that's what really gets them excited.
So I totally completely understand both. So whatever it is

(23:29):
for you, start small, start honest, but just make sure
you start now. Number four, Surround yourself with vision, not comparison.
Let me say that again, Surround yourself with vision and
not comparison. Choose people who remind you of where you're going,

(23:53):
not who you used to be. But when we surround
ourselves with people that are visionary, when we surround ourselves
who understand the power of a dream, then we are
able to be the closest to our authentic and true selves. No,
don't get me wrong. We need all personality types out

(24:15):
there in the world in order for the world to
continue to spend the way at spinning. But we also
need to make sure that we're spending the correct time
with the correct person so that we're able to do
what we need to do. You know, God's grace isn't
just enough to carry you, it's enough to restart you.

(24:40):
And isn't it nice to know that whatever we think
that we want to do that great idea that you have,
it was originally given to us by God, the ultimate creates,
or so of course you're coming up with these great ideas.
God planted the sea so many years ago. So you

(25:04):
may feel tired, you may feel behind, but hear me
clearly today you are not disqualified your story. It still
holds weight, your voice still carries power, your life still
carries purpose. This isn't your ending. This this is your

(25:29):
invitation to trust again, to try again, to begin again.
Limitations three Versus twenty two and twenty three remind us
this way, because of the Lord's great love, we are
not consumed, for his compassion never fails. They are new

(25:54):
every morning. Isn't that nice to know that they're every morning? Oh,
it's so awesome to be a child of God to
know that every day is a fresh start. This is
not the end. It's the grace soaked beginning of your

(26:17):
next chapter. So let me leave you with this, that
today's daily spark. I hope you have heard something that
has reminded you that you don't need all the answers.
You just need enough faith to begin, And that faith

(26:41):
it's already in you. You are brave enough to try again.
You you're bold enough to believe again. And yes, you
are strong enough to begin again. So go not rushed,
not perfect, but renewed, because new beginnings still bloom in faith.

(27:07):
So until next time, I hope that you shine, and
you shine brightly, that you trust the process, and you
walk boldly into your new beginning. Thank you so much
everyone for spending some time with me here today. I
hope that once again I have enlightened, inspired, and empowered you,

(27:31):
and as always made The Lord continue to shine his
face upon you, but you receive his grace and his
mercy in all that you do. Until next time, everyone
remember that you are blessed in the Lord. Have a
great day everyone, Bye bye,
