Speaker 1 (00:07):
Hello everyone, and thank you so much for joining me
for Daily Spark. But Doctor Angela, I'm your host, Doctor
Angela buds Shaster. You guys know who I am, and
you know what I like to do on my show.
Say it with me. I want to enlighten, inspire, and
empower you to become your best self. Now. Scripture reminds
us that the tongue is a small thing that makes
(00:28):
grand speeches, but a tiny spark can set a great
forest on a fire. And that's what we want to
do today. We want to get you fired up about
our topic. Today we are talking about you don't need
permission to lead, So you know what I'm gonna tell
you to do. Go on, get comfy, get cozy, get
(00:51):
your coffee or get your tea because we are about
to get started. Hello everyone, and thank you so much
for joining me for Daily's Spark with Doctor Angela. Today
we are talking about you don't need permission to be
a leader. If you feel that you have been called
(01:13):
to lead, then yes, you already have permission to do so.
And how do we know. Jeremiah chapter one, verses seven
through eight is our foundation. Do not say I am
too young. You must go to everyone I send to you,
do not be afraid, for I am with you. Welcome
(01:38):
to this thought leader perspective of leadership today on Daily's
Spark with doctor Antela. This is where we are going
to sharpen the visionary edge of your calling. Today. Today
is where we step boldly into the purpose that you
have been called to without apology. Today's message you don't
(02:03):
need permission to lead is based again on Jeremiah chapter one,
verse seven through eight. But the Lord said to me,
do not say I am too young. You must go
to everyone I send you to and say, whenever I
(02:24):
command you, do not be afraid, for I am with you.
God never waited for the world to co sign someone
that he had already called. So if you've been waiting
for a title, perhaps you're waiting for the perfect platform,
(02:45):
or you're waiting for that pat on the back to
start walking in your leadership. Today, we're canceling that delay. Today,
I want to remind you you are already endured. I haven't.
So you've been called, but you're not sure if what
(03:10):
you have to say is necessary. Let's talk about leadership
not from the position of striving, but from a place
of spiritual assignment. God didn't choose to God didn't choose
(03:32):
based on someone's resume. God has never said I am
taking applications, please bring your CVS with you. No, he
chose you based on your readiness of heart. Here's what
leaders often forget. You don't have to feel ready to
(03:54):
be chosen. Leadership isn't about popularity. It's about responsibility. Waiting
for permission often becomes the excuse not to move at all.
Let's take a little bit of a closer look at that.
(04:15):
If you shall, you don't have to feel ready to
be chosen. If God was waiting for us to feel ready,
how many humans would truly feel ready? Out of one
hundred people, perhaps five would feel ready at any given moment. Now, sure,
(04:41):
I know what you're saying. You're raising your hand and saying, yes,
I feel ready right now. Yes, perhaps you are a
natural born leader and you are already walking in your calling.
But so many people are not, but yet they still
been chosen for the task. Leadership isn't about popularity, it's
(05:05):
about responsibility. Now, there are many leaders who are also popular,
but there are also leaders that aren't so popular, but
they're still great leaders. Many times being the leader means
that you don't get to do the fun stuff because
(05:28):
you have to do the sensible stuff, the responsible stuff,
the accountability stuff. Everyone else is enjoying the fun because
their level of responsibility is different. The further up you go,
the more out you go, then there are more tasks,
(05:51):
more levels of accountability that you have to tick off.
So if you're finding that you're not having as much
fun as you used to, but your responsibility has increased,
your title has gotten larger as well as your income,
then don't be surprised that maybe your fun has dropped
(06:13):
just a bit. So what can you do to make
sure that you are having some fun and you're becoming
a little more popular. Listen to your team, have them
give you input. Every idea that they have may not
rise to the top, but there will be a few
(06:35):
that do. You'll add some fun back to the team.
You'll show them that you are listening, that you respect
their thoughts, their point of view, and that may just
make you a little bit more popular. Waiting for permission
(06:56):
often becomes the excuse not to move on. Absolutely. When
we are stuck in the excuse of why we can't
do something, then we're simply spinning our wills. No one
should just sit in the excuse. Instead, find a reason
(07:17):
to be out of that space and into another. When
we look for the positive avenues as opposed to accepting
the negative paths, then we make ourselves ready and available
for all of the good that will come. Sure we'll
(07:39):
deal with the negative as it rises to the top.
But if we are busy, if we are busy doing
those things that we are supposed to be doing that
is resulting in a positive outcome, absolutely the negatives won't
be as bad. Moses, let's take him for example. Moses stuttered,
(08:07):
Deborah led in a time when women weren't even handed
authority Jesus. Jesus built a team of fishermen and tax collectors.
Now you know that guy wasn't popular, right, It doesn't
matter which one it was. So sometimes we kind of
(08:29):
get hooked on a particular name, say, oh, well, that person,
this particular one. He was just so much fun and
he seemed like my personality type. That's cool, beans, But
it's really about how we do what we do, not
the name that we go by, that the place in
(08:50):
which we live, but how we choose to interact with others.
Because even Jesus can use the fishermen and the tax collector,
and yet every one of them turn the world upside down.
Moses turned it upside down, Deborah turn the world upside down.
(09:17):
Jesus is still turning the world upside down. So let
me say this to you, dear leader. If God gave
you the vision, he's already given you the voice. Well, everyone,
it's time for us to take a very short break.
(09:38):
But don't you worry. When we get back, we will
continue this conversation. We'll be back right after this.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
Brad in your morning with wisdom and hope. It's Daily
Spark with Doctor Angela.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
And we are back. Thank you so much for joining
me for Daily Spark with Doctor Angela. I'm your host,
Doctor Antelope. But's Jester. Today we are talking about the
fact that you don't need permission to lead. Let's jump
back in. So what do you, as a leader have
(10:36):
to do to make sure that you're stepping into your
leadership role? What you lead doesn't have to look like
the way others lead. You have been called to be
your authentic self when you've been taught to see leadership
(10:56):
through one mold, through one lens. For example, a corporate lens,
a polished lens, an often male lens. Sometimes there's a
disconnect because you are expected to do, be and operate
the same as said lens. But we are all unique
(11:20):
and different, as we each have different fingerprints to identify
who we are. So is our leadership style where there
might be some things that overlap, sure, but you are
the only one who thinks the way you do. Are
(11:41):
there some bits and pieces that overlap, Sure, of course
they do. But you are the only one that God
has given this particular vision too. So you are the
one that must start the race. You are the one
that must bring it to fruition. Your lane has been
(12:04):
marked just for you. So perhaps your lane is for
building family culture with intention. Far too many times we
take for granted those things that we have inherited, those
things that come with the trust, those things that we
(12:27):
will be stepping into. Sure, it's hard to fill someone
else's shoes, but many times, if that person has handed
the baton to us while they are still alive, that
tool means that they are confirming what God has been
telling you all along. You are ready to take the baton.
(12:52):
Or perhaps it's shepherding a small business that has deep impact.
Far too often and people feel as though just because
you are a one room office that you aren't having
a multi room impact. Small business is only called small
(13:14):
because of certain categories. It doesn't mean that you aren't
making a big impact. So if you are working from
your home, if you have a small office, or perhaps
you've converted your guesthouse or your garage into your office,
(13:34):
no matter the size, if you have one employee, one
hundred employees, or you are the employee, you are making
a difference. Shepherding a small business with deep impact means
that you are touching community. It means that you are
(13:56):
doing what needs to be done for your niche. Are
you assisting women, girls, the homeless, athletes, those that are
a part of the STEM community. Are you assisting role farmers?
Are you helping those that live in disadvantaged neighborhoods, or
(14:20):
perhaps you are assisting those that are talented and gifted
and live in a metropolitan area. Do you see what
I'm saying? The possibilities are endless, but each voice that
helps in that way is so important. Perhaps what you've
(14:44):
been called to do is to lead in the way
of philanthropy. Now I know many times we think that
in order to be a philanthropist, you must have donated
ten million dollars in a year. Well to tell you,
but everyone who starts off has started off small for them. Now,
(15:08):
if you were born into a billionaire family and your
first donation was one hundred thousand dollars, that was probably
small for you. If you were born into a family
that collectively the household income is one hundred thousand dollars
and you gave five hundred dollars, perhaps that was small
(15:34):
for you. You see where I'm going here. If it
is just you and there is a cause that you
support and champion for whatever reason, and you've determined that
you want to help that cause, if you invite two people,
twenty people, two hundred people, whatever money you raise, that organization, association,
(15:59):
that charity is going to be grateful for your work.
So be it that it is two dollars or twenty
million dollars. Being a philanthropist might be your calling. It
might be a way that you are making a positive
change in the world. It doesn't matter how big or
(16:20):
house small. Step up, step in to your leadership role.
Perhaps you've been called to a prayer group, a nonprofit,
a creative community on or even an online ministry. In
the world today, it is so easy for us to
(16:40):
connect with our global community. Each one of us can
do a something that helps our neighbor. Now, you may
choose to be more local based, where you are physically
in the space of your local community. Perhaps you are
(17:01):
doing things more on an international or global scale like
we do here, where we realize that there's people around
the world that are inspired by our messages and our platforms.
It does not matter what level your platform is on.
(17:21):
What matters is that you step into that leadership. Someone
needs to hear your voice. So here's the key. Different
doesn't mean lesser, it means assigned. So today, stop disqualifying
(17:43):
yourself because your calling doesn't look like hers or his
or theirs. You don't need a platform to carry power.
The platform will find you. You don't need to go
viral to be valuable. If one person finds value in
(18:05):
what you've said, it's valuable. You don't need a green
light from a group or committee of people when you've
already when you've already gotten the go ahead from God.
(18:26):
The call on your life is not pending, it's active.
So here's one thing that I would like for you
to do, and that is change your thought process. We're
gonna shift the paradigm just a bit.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
Now.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
We always know in the back of our minds that
what we think about is what happens. So where the
energy goes is what grows. You give power to the negative,
the negative gets more powerful. Do you give more power
(19:09):
to your positive thoughts? If not, you should, because what
happens those positive thoughts become more powerful. Now. I know
people have a tendency to say, well, that means that
you're delusional, you're lying to yourself.
Speaker 2 (19:27):
Are you?
Speaker 1 (19:29):
Are you? That's my question for you? Are you? Because
it's about perspective. For every big company, for every big designer,
for every big maker producer that you purchase a product
or service from, at one point they were sitting with
(19:56):
their thoughts, with the vision of what they thought could be,
with the vision of what they knew should be, with
the thought of what they wanted to make happen. Every
(20:18):
single thing in this world started with a thought, and
then it was spoken, and then it became the same
way that we find in the Book of Genesis. God
had a thought, God spoke, and it came to be
(20:40):
so you two have the same ability on a human level.
Are you thinking about changing something in your life. Let's
give a very personal example. At some point, you've looked
around the room in your home and you've said, I
(21:00):
think I want to paint the walls. I think I
want a new sofa. I think over there needs a
new couch. Perhaps here we need a new rug, so
on and so forth. Right, And what happened. You went
and you found said item. You did, said that you
(21:21):
painted the walls, You got a new rug, You swapped
out that old couch for a new couch. Right, and
now you look around the room and you see it
the way that you saw it in your head, the
way that you envisioned the room to be. Well, the
same is true when it comes to leadership. You have
(21:44):
a thought of how the team should operate, how the business,
the organization, the community should be run, and you work
diligently to make that happen. So I want you to
step into rooms knowing that your voice belongs there. I
(22:05):
want you to step into conversations knowing that your presence
carries weight. I want for you to step into this
season of knowing that your leadership starts with obedience not applause.
The majority of the things that we do in life,
(22:27):
the world may never know about them. All about your start,
about the humble beginnings, About how you determined that every day,
at whatever hour, you were going to get up and
do that thing that was the motivator, the catalyst for
you to get going, that thing that kept you fired
(22:50):
up and ready to roll, that thing, that thing, yes,
that has never left you because every day you tap
into that, you tune into that frequency, and you make
life happen according to your calling. Now I realize that
(23:13):
there are great and amazing people around the world, and
every day they are doing something that makes the world
a better place. They're no different than you, they're no
better than you. You too, are an amazing person, and
(23:34):
it's time for you to tap in and join the
community of those that are working to make the world
the best place that it can be. And if no
one ever tells you, I want to tell you now,
it's your time. It's your time. You did not find
(23:57):
this particular episode by happenstance. You're not listening to the
radio just to be listening. Oh no, today was not
just a one off. Today was on purpose. You were
supposed to hear these words because it's go time. Yep,
it's go time. You feel it, don't you. Yep, it's time.
(24:23):
So let's make it happen. And if you want to know,
what is the first thing you do? You stand up
and you say, I'm ready. Make the plan. Walk in
your plan, make it happen according to the vision that
God has given you. So I want to say thank
(24:45):
you so much for joining me today and spending some
time with me today. I realize that every time I
am given the opportunity to be on radio, that the
words I say matter because you, my dear Sparker, are listening.
You are being the catalyst for someone else, and you
(25:08):
may not even know it. So often our young people
they're watching. They may not say a whole lot. In fact,
they may even act a little irritated that you've caught
them watching, But know that they are observing what we do.
They don't want us to just talk a good game.
(25:28):
They want us to be about the plan. If we
say we're going to do something, do it. If you're
not sure when the time to do it is, say
that as well. But make sure you're staying honest and
authentic about what you're doing now. If you are looking
(25:50):
for that motivation, look in the mirror. Do it for yourself.
Do it for your parents, your siblings. Do it for
that coworker that made a difference in your life or
your mentor for that professor that believed in you, that
helped you, assisted you, for that neighbor that used to
(26:11):
always wave, and for whatever reason that inspired you. Do
it for that story that you just saw on the
news the other day. Because no one else stepped up,
but it would be easy for you. Do it because
deep down in your bones, you feel that now is
(26:34):
the time. So I'll see you back here, same channel,
same time, and I hope that you will be just
as excited about your tomorrow as you are today. And
I hope that today gives you blesses you with all
(26:58):
that is owed to you. So until then, I want
to remind you to walk boldly, walk in the knowing
that you are a King's kid. Lead with grace, and
remember you don't need permission, You've already been sent. Thank
(27:20):
you everyone for spending time with me here today on
Daily's mark with Doctor Angela. I hope that I have
once again enlightened, inspired, and empowered you as always. May
the Lord continue to shine his face upon you. May
you receive his grace and his mercy in all that
you do. Until next time, everyone remember that you you
(27:42):
are blessed in the Lord. Have a great day everyone.
Bye bye,
