Speaker 1 (00:06):
Hello everyone, and thank you so much for joining me
for Daily Spark with Doctor Angela. I'm your host, Doctor Angela.
But Chester you guys know who I am, and you
know what I like to do on my show. Say
it with me. I want to enlighten, inspire, and empower
you to become your best self. No scripture reminds us
(00:26):
that the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches,
but a tiny spark can set a great forest on
a fire. And that's what we want to do today.
We want to get you fired up about our topic. Today.
We will be talking about faith and a flow, how
to follow the Holy Spirit in everyday decisions. So you
(00:49):
know what I'm gonna tell you to do. Go get comfy,
get cozy, get your coffee or get your tea because
we are about tickets started. Hello everyone, I think you,
thank you, thank you for joining me here on Daily
Spark with Doctor Angela. I am your host and I
am excited to be with you today. I realized that
(01:13):
you could have been anywhere, but you chose to spend
today with me, in this moment of now, and I
thank you for doing so. So Welcome back, my dear Sparker.
To another episode of Daily Spark with Doctric Angela, where
my goal for today is to bring faith to life
(01:33):
and to bring a sense of purpose to your day. Well,
I like to think of faith and focus as ways
in which we kind of drill down just a little bit.
We dust off any cop webs, we straighten out any
of the little creases that we may have, and make
(01:53):
sure that we're being our best selves. So I have
a question for you today. When was the last time
you let Holy Spirit lead without overthinking the outcome? I
know that's a really big question, so let me ask
(02:18):
it to you again. When was the last time you
let Holy Spirit lead without overthinking the outcome? I know
some of you are going. First of all, you're saying
that I need not overthink, and then you're telling me
that I can't take the lead. And then you're telling
(02:40):
me that I should not be overthinking the outcome or
even concentrating on that. Doctor Angela, what are you talking about?
I know it's gonna be okay, don't worry. Let's walk
through it. Today we're exploring what it means to walk
in a faith filled flow, not one that's forced, not
(03:06):
one that's rushed or even the kind of movement that
we see all around us that seems to have sprinklings
of chaos, of disorganization, that tends to have a little
bit of what is that mixed in? But instead we
(03:31):
are looking at spirit lead rhythm where peace and clarity, Yeah,
they go hand in hand. We know that the God
that we serve is not one of chaos, is not
one that encourages us to be anxious or to be
(03:51):
wanting from that place of a poverty mindset, but instead
understanding that we have the mind of Christ. Therefore we
can have spirit led rhythms that we can go about
our day, about our lives with a certainty, with a knowing,
(04:15):
with an understanding that surely the Lord will provide. I
call it flowing in faith. And it's not just about
living perfectly. It's not even necessarily knowing every step in advance.
(04:36):
It's about following God's cues in real time. We have
all been given the gift of discernment of that understanding,
that knowing that we have. Now it's a little stronger
in some than in others, and it is strongest in
(04:58):
even more that knowing and not knowing how you know,
but simply understanding that in an instance a blink of
an eye, God has given you the direction and the instruction.
So in that we don't need to wait until Sunday
(05:20):
to hear from God. We can start today in the
ordinary time of today, right where you are. No need
to go anywhere special. Be it that you are in
your car, in your bedroom, perhaps you're sitting on your
porch or your balcony, maybe you're taking a walk in
(05:44):
the park, or you're at the beach with your pup.
It doesn't matter. Right now is where you need to be,
and right here is where it can start. So let's
talk about it. I would like to walk you through
three indications that you're moving in sync with Holy Spirit
(06:09):
and what to do when you're not. So let's go
ahead and take our break now instead of later, because
sometimes we don't need a break right in the middle
of it all. So let's go on and do that now. Alrighty, everyone,
we're going to take a short break. We'll be back
(06:31):
right after this. And we are back. Thank you so
much for joining me for Daily Spark for Doctor Angela.
I'm your host, Doctor Angela bat Testa. Today we are
talking about faith and flow, how to follow Holy Spirit
(06:52):
in every day decisions. Let's jump back in, so we're
gonna look at three indicators that you're moving in sync
with Holy Spirit. Now, I love it when people not
only give me a very broad idea or picture of
(07:14):
what they're talking about, but when they give me practical steps.
So that's something that I try to do as best
I can hear, even though I know we have limited time,
but to give you just enough information to either make
you curious and to kind of do some research on
your own, or enough information for you to take what
I shared with you and to get started on your journey.
(07:37):
So let's look at flowing with Holy Spirit and how
that starts. First, it's with a posture, not a plan.
It's less about doing everything right and more about being aligned.
(07:58):
That alignment has weapens in three core ways. Number one,
peace in the process. When you're in flow, when you're
in the rhythm with Holy Spirit, even challenges come with
a sense of peace. You don't have to manipulate the
(08:22):
outcome or even strive for perfection. Philippians four seven says,
and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will
guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus that
peace is your comfort. Far too many times people are
(08:45):
stuck on the rat wheel of the chaos. If they
are not grumbling, complaining, worried, fearful, anxious, nervous, uncertain, unsure,
just not on the positive side, right, but they're feeling
(09:09):
a something about it, then they don't know how to
operate in the peace and the quiet. Sometimes you have
peace and quiet even when you're not one hundred percent
sure of what to do next. And I know some
folks are going, but how I should be anxious because
(09:31):
I don't know what is next? But you don't have
to be, you know why, because you're being led by
holy spirit. Your human mind is anxious, but your spirit
is what has found the peace in your humanness. You
can't believe that something is more correct, more true, more powerful,
(09:56):
more able, more capable than you're human you. But yet
we pray to a mighty, awesome and amazing God who
created you, so in that we understand that God is
more than us, and in that more we should be
(10:20):
able to rest and find that comfort and that peace
and be able to process it properly when we are
in that flow. Challenges are not hard. Challenges are not difficult.
Challenges grow us. They stretch us, but they do not
(10:40):
break us, because the peace of God is in that
moment with us. Number two, it is clarity without control.
Now you may not see the whole picture, but the
next step feels clear. You have a knowing and understanding.
(11:05):
You are able to sense it even if you cannot
see it, because again we're walking by faith and not
by sight. That's the Holy Spirit nudging you gently, not
dragging you, not pulling you against your wheel, not kicking
you across the finish line, but instead gently nudging, prompting
(11:30):
you to continue to move forward in the right direction.
But because you have free will, you can always choose
to go off script. You can always choose to leave
the path. You can always choose to slow down or
to go too quickly, because that's just as bad too.
(11:54):
It is in God's perfect timing. It is in that
peace that we are able to accomplish what we need
to accomplish. So in the clarity of your steps, be
reassured that some will be slow, some will be at
a steady pace, and some will move quickly. But you
(12:19):
must do it at the appropriate time all stages and phases,
anytime we do something out of stage or out of
phase that we run the risk of it being ruined,
We run the risk of it not coming out proper
and true, and then we want to blame God when
(12:40):
it was our human self that did it. We told God,
hurry up, you're taking too long. So we decided that
we would hurry up, you know, rush on and do it.
Oh humans. I know God gets a little chuckle out
of us every now and again, right because we're going, Lord,
(13:01):
hurry up, hurry up, hurry up, herry up, or slow down,
slow down, slow down. I know he gets a chuckle
as parents get chuckles from their kids, right when when
we're watching our little ones learn how to do stuff,
and it's like that innocence that they have. They're totally
doing it wrong, but it is in such a cute
(13:21):
way because it is the the not knowing. It is
the the trying to figure it out as you go,
and you see them having the epiphany in real time
of wait, turn it, turn it, turn it, turn it.
Oh there boom, there it is. And I know that
God must love us so much because he allows us
(13:46):
to keep turning and turning and turning and twisting and
turning until we're able to boom settle into place, and
in doing that we can learn to rely on his
direction because it's the clarity, not the control. Make a left,
(14:07):
make a left, make a left, make a right, make
a left, make a right, make a right and stop.
That sounds like what why am I going right? You
just told me to go left. I'm going backward? Are you?
But what if there was an obstacle there? What if
there was something there that you could not see? What
(14:30):
if in your following the direction you dodged the pothole.
Because it's about clarity and not control, we want to
take control, take the direction from God and go No,
I've been down this road before. I know exactly where
(14:51):
we're going. Well, well, well, here we go again. It
is amazing how many times we do not trust the Creator,
we do not trust Holy Spirit to lead us and
guide us accordingly. So, my dear Sparker, remember that it
(15:14):
is one a piece in the process. It is two
clarity without us having to have control. And three it
is fruit not friction. Galicians five twenty two tells us
about the fruit of the spirit. You know, love, joy, peace, patience,
(15:40):
and all of that. If your decision leads to more
of this, more of the fruits. You're likely in flow.
If it leads to burnout, bitterness, confusion, all that stuff. Yeah,
something is off. So the Spirit doesn't just lead us
(16:05):
to ministry moments. The spirit just doesn't lead us in
a church moments. The spirit doesn't just lead the pastor
doesn't just lead those that are doing missions work. God
can lead us all. Holy Spirit is there for all
(16:28):
of us. He leads us in the grocery stores, he
leads us during staff meetings, he leads us when we're
journaling at night, or even when we're navigating a hard
conversation with someone that we know and or love. Flow
(16:49):
doesn't have to look grand, but it does have to
look like God. Alrighty, every one, it is time for
us to take a very short break. But don't worry.
We are going to continue this conversation. We'll be back
right after this. And we are back. Thank you so
(17:20):
much for joining me for Daily Spark with Doctor Angela.
I'm your host, Doctor Angela, buttester. Today we are talking
about faith and full now how to follow the Holy
Spirit in every day decisions. Let's jump back into the conversation.
You know, when we decide that we want to give
(17:43):
up control and to follow the lead of Holy Spirit,
you will find that there comes a settling in your spirit,
a calmness that comes over you once you realize that
what you're doing is truly for the best for you
and yours. Let me give you a real life example
(18:05):
of that. I remember a time that I was invited
to speak at an event. Everything looked right on paper,
big names, great exposure, well pain, but something in my
spirit was off. So I prayed, I listened, and I
(18:30):
felt God say, this is not your assignment. Because this
happened much later in my career, and because I had
learned to lean on God to trust God to understand
that when do they say all that glitters isn't gold?
(18:53):
Because I knew that if I had that inside, that
discernment that I needed to listen to that that I
should not ask God to give me right. You see
where I'm going with this. Right, don't give me confirmation
as to whether or not I should do this. Give
(19:14):
me discernment in all things. Right if you if you're
constantly asking for that, or you are thanking God for
having that ability to really have a connection with him,
and then you disregard it. Why are you what are
you doing? Why are you doing that? Don't do that?
If you have been given the red flag. If you
(19:36):
see the red flag, be it that you physically see it,
like you see something kind of go awry, or if
you feel it and that's how God communicates with you,
or if you hear it. Some people have said that
when God tries to give them a warning, like they
hear an audible sound like a siren go off. You
(20:01):
know what I'm saying, like a first responder, maybe driving
down the street, and though that is real in real time,
for them, it was Lord, should I be doing this?
And then they hear the siren, and for them they
understand that as God saying, this is not for you. Right. However,
God speaks to us because it may be different for
(20:24):
each person, but yet each one of us understands what
the legend is for us. Right, so we all understand
that if this happens, that means no, this means yes,
and we learn to hear that, to operate from that,
(20:44):
and to really grasp that and make it true for us. Now,
if that's not true for you, okay, but it doesn't
make it any less true for someone else. Someone is
going to tell you absolutely, I have been about to
do something and someone has called me and they delayed
(21:07):
me because I took the phone call. And then I
was driving down the street later and there was an accident,
and I said, oh my goodness, if I had been
two minutes earlier, that would have been me. Right. We've
all had that experience. So if we know that it's
true for that, then it's going to be true for
other things as well. So in that I heard, this
(21:29):
is not your assignment. It is an assignment for someone.
It's a great opportunity for someone, but it just was
not for me. Now here's the twist. I said no.
And a week later, a woman from my past, she
(21:51):
reached out and she's asking if I could come and
minister to a small group of women for her. No fanfare,
no cameras, just a group of ladies that were celebrating
a particular event, and they wanted someone who understood the
(22:14):
importance of that moment. So that night, that day, God moved.
It was in the obedience, It was in the clarity
of understanding that the first thing didn't bring me peace.
It may have brought me opportunity, but it would have
brought it would not have brought me peace. And in
(22:37):
that clarity of understanding that if I had operated from
I'm in control of this and done that thing, who
knows what would have happened. It would have given me friction,
but it would not have produced fruit. So in that
understanding of knowing that that was the assignment for me,
(23:02):
people were changed, people were confirmed. It was a beautiful day.
It was a beautiful day, and that was my assignment.
That was my flow. So here's an encouragement for you.
(23:23):
Don't be afraid to say no to the good if
it's not of God. I'm gonna say that again. Don't
be afraid to say no to the good if it's
not from God. Do you know why, because God is
going to give us the best. You know how, you
(23:47):
have good, better and best. Don't be afraid to say
no to the good. Don't be afraid to say no
to the better. God always has best in mind for you.
The flow of Holy Spirit won't always match the logic
(24:07):
of our schedules or even the expectation that others have
for us, But that's okay. This is especially vital for
women who lead. There are so many pressures on us
to do this, that, and the other. So people often
(24:28):
assume that you have to have it all just perfect
in order for things to line up. But leadership can
be lonely, and many times we will have to say
no because it's what's best. But in saying no, we
are opening the door of what is best for us.
(24:53):
It's tempting to fill your days with productivity and performance,
but Holy Spirit's invitation and may be different. Some days.
Holy Spirit is going to say, come and set with me,
and I'll show you what you need to do next.
Come and be with me. Put that down, let that go,
(25:19):
and be with me. We have been drilled over and
over again. If we're not working, if we're not looking productive,
if we're not looking busy, then we must be doing
nothing being lazy. And oh, my dear Sparker, how that
is so far from the truth. It is sometimes in
(25:43):
our days of quiet, of stillness, of being at peace
that we get the vision for what is next. So
here's what I want to leave with you today. You
don't have to have every detail figured out out, but
you do have to have access to divine direction. Don't
(26:06):
underestimate the power of pausing and asking and then listen,
trust and Flow. If this episode has helped you in
any way, then I want to hear about it. Now.
You guys know that we are on social media, so

teaching you. Alrighty, everyone, and thank you so much for

have once again enlightened, inspired and encouraged you to day
(27:34):

in all that you do. Until next time, everyone, remember
that you you are blessed in the Lord, have a
great day. Everyone,
