business to attend to. But never fear, because I have
hooked you up with a few Daily Dose top fives
from the days of your Yes, we are going to
be heavily NBA flavor. Today. We are going to go
clear back to the year twenty fifteen to count down

(01:33):
the top five worst NBA teams to ever qualify for
the postseason. We will also go back to twenty eighteen
where we counted down the top five biggest first round
NBA Playoff upsets, and then we will finish up in
the year twenty nineteen, which when I say that sounds

(01:54):
like it would be like, I don't know, a year
or two ago. Yeah, that was like six years ago.
We count down the top five NBA players that change
the game and the top five NBA buzzer beaters that
actually weren't buzzer beaters. You'll see what I mean in
just a few minutes, So sit back, relax, and enjoy
a throwback episode of the Daily Dose. Hey, as we

(02:19):
do every single week, we have to get to our
Daily Dose Top five. We do this every single week,
and this week, you know, I was thinking a little
bit about the Brooklyn Nets, and you know how the
the you know, sometimes you just the way things fall
and the way we have divisional and conferences set up.
You know, this year we had the Nets get in
at thirty eight and forty four. We have the Celtics

(02:40):
get in at forty and forty two. The NBA needs
to recede their playoff structure. And when I say recede,
I'm not talking about Lebron's hair. They need to get
the best sixteen teams into the playoffs. That's what this
is all about, isn't it. But this week Daily Dose
Top five, I wanted to count down the worst teams
to ever make the NBA playoffs. You know, there's been

(03:02):
some bad ones out there. There's been some really bad
teams out there to make the playoffs, not just you know,
kind of scrape their way through. They actually got in.
That's why again, I think they need to receive this thing.
We want the sixteen best teams. I would much rather
see a team like Oklahoma City or Phoenix than I would,
you know, seeing like the Celtics or the Nets makes

(03:23):
no sense to me. They need to change this up.
Adam Silver has talked about it, but let's be honest,
he's kind of disappeared since he made his ruling on
Donald Sterling. We haven't heard much from him since. Let's
take a look at the Daily Dose top five worst
teams to ever make the playoffs. That one caveat on this.
I didn't go anything prior to like nineteen seventy when
it was way older, number of games was a little
bit different. I didn't go back to the Civil War

(03:45):
era when we were talking about those teams. And the
other thing is I didn't look at any strikes shortened
years because yes, there were years that you had a team,
well they only won twenty games. Well yeah, but they
only played thirty games, so that doesn't really count. Let's
look at the worst five worst teams to make the
The nineteen ninety six ninety seven Los Angeles Clippers somehow

(04:06):
went thirty six and forty six and made their way
into the playoffs. You might remember some of these players,
Loy Vatt, Rodney Rogers, bo Outlaw. They were the number
eight seed that year and they got swept by the
Utah Jazz. Number four on our list. The nineteen ninety
four ninety five Boston Celtics went thirty five and forty

(04:28):
seven with Dee Brown as their leading scorer. And you
might remember, and this is one of those weird things
you remember, when you had like a Joe Namath wearing
a Rams jersey, you know those things that they just
didn't quite add up. Patrick Ewing wearing an Orlando Magic jersey.
This was one of those things. Dominique Wilkins wearing the
green and white of the Boston Celtics and the number twelve. Somehow,

(04:52):
the Celtics scraped their way into the playoffs as an
eight seed, and they lost three to one to the
Orlando Magic. Number three on our list Daily Dose top
five worst teams to ever make the playoffs the nineteen eighty,
eighty three and eighty four Washington Bullets. No, they weren't
the Wizards, yet they were still the Bullets. They went
thirty five and forty seven under such superstars as Jeff Rulind,

(05:16):
Greg Ballard and a very very young, scrappy kid by
the name of Rick Mahorn. They did get the number
eight seed. They lost three to one to the Celtics
that year as well. Do you see a trend how
these bad teams do again. This is why we need
to receive these playoffs, because we get these horrible teams
in and they don't do anything. It's not like they're
knocking anybody off or getting these upsets. Let's get these

(05:38):
teams out of here and get some better teams in here.
The number two team on our list, the nineteen eighty
seven eighty eight San Antonio Spurs, went thirty one and
fifty one. They had Alvid Robertson, Johnny Dawkins, Greg Cadillac Anderson,
and Walter Berry. They were swept out of the playoffs
by the Los Angeles Lakers and our No. Number one team.

(06:01):
Worst team to ever make the NBA playoffs at least
record wise, they only won thirty games. They went thirty
and fifty two. The nineteen eighty five eighty six Chicago Bulls.
You might remember Michael Jordan comes in, he breaks his foot,
and he is out for the bulk of the season,
which was why this team was so awful. They were

(06:23):
led by Orlando Woolridge. George Gervin somehow was still playing
in Sydney Green. They make the playoffs and Jordan comes back.
We're in Game two against the Celtics and they were
out maned. They got swept by the Celtics three to nothing.
Game two, Jordan goes crazy and drops sixty three on
Larry Bird and the Celtics in Boston Guarden. You know

(06:44):
that was nineteen years ago this week, just to make
you feel a little bit older, you know, our number
one daily dose Top five worst team to make the
playoffs eighty five eighty six Bulls takes it. So there
is your daily dose Top five. Now, as we do
every single week, we have got to get to our
daily dose Top five. Like we've been talking about, the

(07:06):
NBA playoffs begin this weekend. And while we look at
these playoff games and we think the favorite should win,
there is always a case to be made for the
underdog in these things. Now, a few of these series
that we're gonna talk about took place back when the
first round was just five games, meaning that you just
had to beat your opponent three times to clinch the series.

(07:28):
But there are still a few on this list that
were of the seven game variety. Hey, it does happen
now this year, this should be a very fun NBA
postseason because even the favorites even the highest seeds. They
do have some flaws of their game and the favorites
had better be on their toes because we have seen

(07:49):
big favorites fall before. Today on our daily dose Top five,
we are going to be counting down the top five
first round NBA upsets, starting off at number five. Wow.
You know, the San Antonio Spurs had won four titles
from nineteen ninety nine to two thousand and seven, and
in twenty eleven they looked like they might do it again.

(08:11):
They had won sixty one games behind Tim Duncan, Tony Parker,
and Mono Genobili. Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies finished their season
at forty six and thirty six. The Spurs were the
top seed in the West. They were gonna make quick
work of the Grizzlies. Yeah, except the Grizzlies had other ideas.
Zach Randolph and Mark Gasol were a serious matchup problem

(08:36):
for the Spurs and the Memphis defense. They also caused
some serious problems for the Spurs because they didn't allow
them to get those layups cutting to the basket like
they like to get. Memphis won the series in just
six games, and the top seed, the San Antonio Spurs,
Greg Popovich, Tim Duncan. They were gone. In twenty eleven,

(08:58):
Memphis beat San Antonio. In fact, the number three seed
Dallas Mavericks are the team that actually went on to
win the title. We saw Memphis beat San Antonio on
twenty eleven. It does happen. Moving on to number four,
the Los Angeles Lakers were the defending champs in nineteen
eighty one. They had Magic, they had Kareem. There was

(09:19):
no way the Lakers were going to lose in eighty one.
Well they did in round one to a Houston Rockets
team that went forty and forty two. They finished under
five hundred. How could that possibly happen? Well, you can
actually explain it. Magic Johnson spent most of the season hurts.

(09:40):
When he returned, you could tell that the Lakers just
didn't have very good chemistry. Meanwhile, the Rockets rode a
guide by the name of Yeah Moses Malone, a future
Hall of Famer. Malone was amazing in the series. He
got some help from Calvin Murphy, he got some help
from another guy that ended up being a pretty good
head coach, Rudy tom Jonovich, and the Rockets were able

(10:01):
to stun the Lakers in three games. Now, this was
a huge upset. This series actually changed the NBA because
after the season, the Lakers signed Magic Johnson to a
twenty five year extension, but he actually demanded a trade
because he didn't get along well with head coach Paul
Westhead West, heead would end up being fired and eventually

(10:25):
a young assistant by the name of pat Riley would
take over in Los Angeles. Hey, sometimes these upsets changed
the whole scope of the league, and that's what happened
in nineteen eighty one. Moving on to number three. You know,
in two thousand and seven, it was the Dallas Mavericks
that looked like they were going to be unbeatable. They
were the top seed in the Western Conference, dead Jason Terry,

(10:46):
Josh Howard, Dirk Nooviski. They would be facing the Golden
State Warriors in the first round. But these were not
your current Warriors. This was not Steph and Kevin Durant
and all those guys. This was the Baron Davis, Steve Jackson,
Monte Ellis, Jason Richardson, Golden State Warriors. They weren't gonna
be any match for Dallas. But Baron Davis and Steven Jackson.

(11:10):
They were just too much for the Dallas Guards. Again,
they caused a matchup problem. Davis and Jackson combined to
average nearly fifty points a game for the series, and
the Warriors would knock out the Mavericks in just six games. Yeah,
sometimes it does happen. You get a bad matchup, you
get a bad poll, and you say, oh, we just
don't match up well with that team. They didn't have

(11:32):
the guards, and down went Dallas in two thousand and seven.
Moving on to number two, and I'll be very transparent,
this one crushed me a bit when I was a
kid because I cheered for the Philadelphia seventy six ers
a little because of Julius Irving and because I really
liked Andrew Tony. They were my favorite players. This Philly
team was loaded in eighty four. They were coming off

(11:54):
their title in eighty three. But in nineteen eighty four,
the New Jersey Nets had Darryl Dawkins, Otis bird Song
and a very talented but very troubled Michael Ray Richardson.
The Sixers were the three seed in nineteen eighty four,
and when the Nets won Game one and two, everyone

(12:14):
kind of looked around, like something's wrong with Philly. What
is going on here? Everyone kind of expected them to
still get back to the finals. Philly rallied in games
three and four, and then came back to the old
Philadelphia Spectrum for the deciding Game five. But Michael Ray
Richardson and Otis Birdsong combined for forty eight points and
the New Jersey Nets knocked off the defending champs in

(12:37):
nineteen eighty four. Hey, it can happen. Get a hot team,
wrong place, wrong time, you might get sent home early.
So we move on to our number one entry, best
first round upsets of all time. Now, this one might
not rate as high for some people, but the fact is,
when Michael Jordan left the NBA to play baseball, it

(13:00):
sure looked like the team that would benefit the most
was going to be the Seattle SuperSonics. They had Gary Payton,
they had Sean Kemp, they had Kendall Gill, they had
debt of shrimp. That team was loaded under George Carl.
The SuperSonics won sixty seven games in nineteen ninety four.
No One, and I mean no one gave forty two

(13:21):
and forty denver any sort of chance in this series.
One versus eight, this is no chance. And it looked
like everyone was right because Seattle won games one and
two pretty easily. Denver rallied in game three, but that
would probably be their last gasp. But then Reggie Williams,
Lafonso Ellis, Robert pack and de kem Babe Matumba somehow

(13:46):
squeaked out Game four and forced a fifth game in Seattle. Okay,
but it's in Seattle. The Sonics are still going to
win this, aren't they. But then Gary Payton got dinged
up in that last game and he actually had to
leave the game, and with him out, there was no
one to feed Sean Kemp. The Seattle offense suddenly fizzled.

(14:07):
The Denver Nuggets held a four point lead late and
Seattle was looking for a miracle to try to turn
this thing around. Here's a clip from NBC and you
can tell by how quiet the crowd is it's not
going their way, Ain't That's that? Come up, embraces the

(14:31):
ball and then unlikely upset the playoff history. Hey, the
NBA playoffs start this weekend, and like I said, we
look at the favorites, we look at some of the
big dogs, and we say Okay, well we can just
pencil them in moving forward. Hey, every single team in
these playoffs has some flaws. If you match up wrong

(14:53):
with a team that can expose those flaws, with a
team that can accentuate what they do well, you I
get yourself in some trouble. And it doesn't matter if
you're a one seat all the way through to eight.
You could get sent home early. Every single game matters
from here on outs. It's going to be a very
very fun NBA Playoff now. As we do every Friday,

(15:17):
we need to get to our daily dose top five.
Of course, like I said, the NBA All Star Weekend
took place last week. We talked about it earlier this week.
But how three point happy is everyone in basketball these days?
I mean, in the All Star Game itself, those two

(15:39):
teams combined to take one hundred and sixty seven three pointers.
But it's not just the NBA. College kids are jacking
up threes at a historic rate. Go watch a high
school game. High school kids want to shoot the three
all the time. I just finished coaching my daughter's middle
school team this season, and you know what they want
to do. They want to shoot threes. Why because they

(16:02):
see the success of shooters like Steph Curry and the
Golden State Warriors, and they want to imitate what they do.
I honestly believe that Stephan Curry has caused one of
the biggest innovations in basketball of all time. It used
to be all about the dunk. You'd go into the gym,
you would see kids working and killing themselves trying to

(16:24):
get dunks down. That's not actually the case anymore. Yes,
you still have that, but now you have kids going
out and saying, watch, I can hit the step back three,
I can hit the crossover three. I can shoot the
three while fading away. It is all about the three.
And you know what some of it is a lot
of kids look at a guy like Steph Curry and
they're like, he's not that big, because most kids aren't

(16:47):
the size of Lebron James or Michael Jordan. But they
look at Steph Curry and they say, he's not a
physical freak. Maybe I could do what he does. So
with Steph Curry in mind, today we count down the
Daily Dose top five players that changed the game. Let's
get started. Coming in at number five, we have a

(17:08):
player that completely changed the game in ways that we
are seeing every single season because Spencer Haywood was a
big time scorer that had stops in Denver, New York, Seattle,
New Orleans, and he even finished up a little bit
with the Los Angeles Lakers. But in his nineteen sixty
nine nineteen seventy rookie season, Spencer Haywood led the ABA

(17:33):
in scoring with thirty points a game and in rebounding
with nineteen point five rebounds a game while leading the
Denver Rockets to the ABA's Western Division title. But what
was it that Spencer Haywood brought to the game. Well,
he actually paid the way for a number of players
because he was the first player to turn professional without

(17:56):
completing four years of college that was at the time.
But the ABA adjusted their policy with Haywood being used
as an example because he needed to get to work
and support his family. He would eventually join the NBA
and the Seattle SuperSonics in nineteen seventy, but the NBA
still had that eligibility rule, forcing Spencer Haywood to the sideline.

(18:19):
He couldn't play. He was in the NBA and he
literally couldn't get on the floor. The case ended up
going all the way to the Supreme Court, where Haywood
eventually won and became the first NBA player to suit
up despite not completing four years of college. Eventually, eligibility
rules were changed. And think of all the players that

(18:39):
have rowed off of what Spencer Haywood did, Magic Johnson,
Michael Jordan, Shaquille O'Neil, and not even guys that went
to college for a year or two. What about the
guys that just jumped straight to the NBA not even
going to college, Guys like Kevin Garnett, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James.
They skipped college altogether. You might not think of it,

(19:01):
but Spencer Haywood absolutely changed the game, and he comes
in at number five. Moving on to number four. Basketball
is a pretty simple game, right put the ball in
the hoop. If you can put the ball in the hoop,
if you can shoot it, if you can score, then
you should be a player, right Yet, no player in
NBA history has more rings than Bill Russell, and he

(19:24):
wasn't a big scorer, so he must have been doing
something right during his time with the Boston Celtics. And
it was because Russell revolutionized the game through his defensive play,
an area of the game, which a lot of people
really didn't focus on. But Russell was this fierce competitor,
and he had this perfect timing for blocking shots and

(19:45):
grabbing defensive boards. In fact, his presence in the paint
would scare opponents from even trying to go in and
attempt a shot against him. Russell made defense an important
factor in the game. And think of the players that
have kind of modeled their game after that Russell style.
Think of those defensive minded players like Dennis Rodman, even

(20:06):
a guy like Patrick Ewing who could do it at
both ends, but defensively he was very good. Ben Wallace.
I don't know if Ben Wallace could score points in
an empty gym, but defensively he could dominate the ken
Bi Mtumbo, Alonzo Morning, even someone like Kevin Garnett, DeAndre Jordan.
Some of these guys didn't have a huge offensive arsenal,
but they were still able to have success simply following

(20:28):
the blueprint of one Bill Russell, and he comes in
at number four. Moving on to number three. Magic Johnson
inspired hundreds of point guards that came after him, but
he was actually not the first tall or flashy point
guard to play in the NBA. No, I would give
that title to the Big Oh because Oscar Robertson changed

(20:49):
the game from the perspective of a big man playing
the point guard position. Robertson was six', Five he was
a twelve Time All, star an eleven time member of
The ALL Nba, team and he did win THE mvp
once in his fourteen professional. Seasons in nineteen sixty, Two
Oscar robertson became the first player IN nba history to

(21:11):
average a triple double for the entire. Season he averaged
thirty points a, game twelve rebounds a, game and eleven
assists a. Game but think now to some of the
bigger point guards that we have seen Since Oscar. Robertson
Scottie pippen played the point at, Times Lebron james will
run the point at, Times Penny, Hardaway Jalen, Rose Ron,

(21:32):
Harper Giannis. Anatacumpo sometimes we'll see a big guy like
him at six' ten playing. Point guard and then of
course You Have, magic johnson who might be the greatest
point guard of. All time magic was. Six' Nine But,
without oscar robertson maybe we never see a coach confident
enough to give a six' to nine player. The point Guard,

(21:54):
spot but After oscar we saw magic step right into
That Role and excel oscar roberts and comes. In at
number three let's move. On TO number two and i
know the first thing YOU think Of When, I, say
wilt chamberlain no not. The, TWENTY thousand women. Well i
don't know maybe that is, what YOU think of but
i think of a guy. Who Was freakishly athletic will

(22:15):
chamberlain didn't JUST. Play in the nba, He played pro
volleyball he. Ran track in college and while most of HIS, scoring,
in the nba yes it was based on dunks, and
based on power he did also show you could be
an athlete and you could do things other than just
go down to the low post and. Turn around and dunk.

(22:36):
Because Don't forget that will chamberlain led the league in assists.
In nineteen sixty eight he was an excellent passer, and
as a result we have seen a ton of big
men that developed their game, beyond just you know. Drop step,
AND dunk of course i mean think of Players Like,
a chem o lajuwan, who played a five but he

(22:57):
honestly played it like a, three or a Four Or
someone like tim duncan who you could run an offense through.
At the high post and think Of Guys like a
chris weber who ran the, floor Like A guard a
dirk novinsky who steps outside. And can shoot it even
think of Guys Today like a DeMarcus cousins Or. A
joe l embiid they are big men that don't just

(23:17):
go down to the low post and look to. Turn
Around And dunk but wilt chamberlain showed that a big
man could be, a great athlete too, and as a
result we have a ton of big men like that
that can do a number of different things and hurt
you in. So Many different ways wilt chamberlain comes. In
at number two but if we are looking at one

(23:37):
of the most IMPACTFUL game, changers in nba history we
need to. Think about one. Thing who, plays, basketball, Big
guys right giants. They run, the league oh sure you
might see a guy back in The Fifties like a
bob coosey just dribbling. ALL over the place i, love
those radio, calls by the way and the coops as a.
Wins with a basketball see he's got it on the,

(23:59):
string like a yell and, you see the video and
he's dribbling. Like with one hand he's looking down directly
at the. Ball The entire top but i'm not talking
about a small player just. Being a ball handler i'm
talking about a smaller. Player being a scorer because in
the nineteen seventy, Two seventy Three season nate TINY archibald
led the nba in, both scoring and assists becoming the

(24:23):
only player to win the. Titles in both categories. In
The same season tiny archibald averaged thirty four points a
game and nearly twelve assists A Game. For the cincinnati
royals his ability to drive inside to finish, over much
bigger players it was something that we have now seen
a number. Of players take from we see so many

(24:46):
players now, that aren't big guys, they're not giant guys
but they are not afraid to go. Inside and still
score Think Of Guards like isaiah lord thomas who could just.
Go Off any nights kevin johnson who is not afraid.
To attack the paint What About someone like alan iverson
who just drove inside. Without Any fear whatsoever steve nash

(25:08):
who was so good at that, Little Tear drop floater
stephan marbury was way more of a score than a
passer for. Being A, Small Guy, tony parker kyrie irving
they are all Taking A page from nate archibald because
it didn't matter that he. Wasn't a big guy he
knew if he was smart enough and he was careful
enough and, he perfected those shots he could still go

(25:31):
inside against the trees and find. Ways to score it
and again we bring it back to what do kids
watch and what did. They try to imitate kids See
Players like a, NATE archibald and say i want to,
play LIKE that guy and i might not, be SEVEN
feet tall but i can. Do WHAT he does if,
I work at it i can become the kind. Of
player he is and we're seeing It Right now with

(25:52):
steph curry. And, three point shot okay as we, do
every single week we have got to get to. Our. Daily,
top Five ah now last Sunday We saw the Toronto
raptors beat the philadelphia Seventy six ers in GAME Seven

(26:13):
Of the Nba. Eastern conference semi Finals When we saw
kawhi leonard hit that improbable shot from the corner as
the buzzer sounded and then the ball, hangs on the
rim for what felt like an eternity before finally. Falling
through the, hoop but you know it is kind of
funny BECAUSE thinking back in nba history to some of

(26:36):
the best last second buzzer beater, game winners in history
it actually might leave you a little bit more disappointed. Than, you,
would think see, sometimes as sports fans our memories tend
to get a little bit muddled with the. Emotion of
the game so sometimes we think back to games. That
we even, saw we watched them but maybe it was,

(26:57):
a long time ago, maybe we were kids or maybe
we just talked ourselves into something that happened, that didn't
actually happen much like maybe your youth playing career or
when you. PLAYED high school sports, a lot of, times
let's just say we tend to. Exaggerate what, actually happened
So Today On our, daily dose top five we are
going to take a Look Back at the DAILY dos

(27:19):
top five nba game winning buzzer beaters that weren't actually
game winning. Buzzer beaters at, all kind of CONFUSED you'll
see what i mean. In just a second starting, off at,
number five everyone remembers or at, least You've Heard about
what reggie Miller Did To the new York knicks back
in game one of The Nineteen Ninety. Five Eastern Conference

(27:42):
Semifinals with reggie's INDIANA pacers down, by i don't know,
Let's say around seven. Reggie goes completely crazy he scores
eight points in, the last ten seconds including a three
pointer at the buzzer. To win the game he Rubbed it.
In the garden's face he rubbed it. In, spikes ly
face yeah that's not exactly. How that went though see

(28:03):
with eighteen point seven seconds, left In the game the.
Pacers had the ball they. Were down by six, reggie
hits a three which cuts. The lead to three, On
the inbounds Pass Knicks point guard greg anthony, slips And
falls down so reggie. Steals the inbound pass he runs
back out to the three point line and. He drains

(28:24):
another three now. The game, is tied but then and we,
still Don't, know why the pacers For some Reason Foul.
Knicks guard john starks why you would, foul in, That
situation no idea you. Just need to Stop. But They
Foul starks but john starks goes to the free throw
line and for some reason, he misses both, shots not

(28:45):
just one. He Misses them both the knicks have a
couple of, taps to score it they can't, hit any
Of them and then miller grabs the rebound. And gets
fouled himself really poor play down the. Stretch in this
game two fouls that had no no. Oh business taking
place there's no reason you want to. Foul In that
situation reggie miller walks to the line drains both free

(29:07):
throws To now give the pacers. A two point lead
but that's not. Where the game ended the Game Actually
Ended with New York knicks guard great ganthony stumbling Once
again as the knicks tried to push the ball up.
For a final shot, he lost the ball a shot.
Didn't even go up it's not, exactly, what we. Remember
THOUGH is It Like i swear reggie miller hit a

(29:27):
three and then he went back out, and HIT another
three and i think that like won. The, game or. Something,
yeah not exactly actually there were a lot of screw
ups at the. End of this game and At the
end the knicks couldn't even. Get A shot off Reggie
miller beating the knicks on a buzzer beater that wasn't
really a buzzer beater at all comes, in at number
five moving, On TO number four and i Know Here,

(29:48):
AT the, DAILY dose, i know i know We Tend
to give lebron james. A lot of grief it's not
really him so much as it's. The, coverage of him
well and it's actually, also totally him too because he
does get put Into a stratosphere that i'm not. Sure
he belongs in, let's all remember this the Two Biggest
SHOTS In lebron james nba finals career were. Not taken

(30:11):
by him the Game Winner for the Cleveland Cavaliers Beating
the golden state Warriors Was, made by kyrie irving and
the Biggest Shots for the Miami Heat Against the san
antonio spurs back in twenty thirteen was a Three Pointer
made by ray allen at The buzzer with The Spurs
Up on Lebron's miami. Heat In game six ray allen

(30:33):
drains that Three to give the heat life and then
they went on to win the. Series, IN game seven
well i, mean that's partially true. Just, not Exactly true
yes the spurs were up in the, series three To
two it was game six and they could. Have finished
things off they actually led ninety. Five to ninety two,
with Thirteen Seconds left the miami heat Have The ball

(30:55):
and lebron james takes a three at the top of the,
key to tie it. But he missed it the Ball
was Rebounded By, heat forward Chris Bosh who finds ray
allen In the corner and allen drains the shot with
five seconds left. To Tie The game but San Antonio
actually had tony parker driving up the court taking a

(31:17):
runner and got bumped pretty hard like they could. Have
called a, foul as regulation ended. There was no call the,
game went To overtime and the heat would go on
to win. The GAME in OVERTIME but i swear. I watched,
that Game I thought sure ray allen hit that shot
at the. Buzzer, to win it yeah that's not. What
Happened at all ray allen's not buzzer beater actually comes,

(31:38):
in at number four moving. On to, number three you
know in THE Nineteen eighty seven Nba Finals Between the
los Angeles Lakers, and the boston celtics, Trailing by one
Point Lakers point guard magic johnson drives into the paint
and he tosses up what would eventually be known as
the Junior skyhook and The lakers Heat the celtics in

(32:01):
Game four At, the buzzer h yeah except for that's not.
Exactly how That went see in game four of those
eighty Seven finals between The, lakers And the celtics the
lakers were up in the, series two To one but
the celtics had led by. As many as sixteen but,
with twelve seconds left they were up by just two
one oh six. To One oh four the lakers came

(32:21):
down and passed The Ball Inside. To kareem abdul, jabbar
he got fouled went to, the free throw line but
he missed. The second Free throw then the lakers got
the ball back and they. Took a time out they
set Up a play for magic to Actually, look inside
to kareem who was posting up, on the Ball side
but instead magic decided he would drive the ball to

(32:42):
the middle. Of the key himself He shot that little
kareem like skyhook Over the top Of Kevin. McHale and
robert parrish but what we kind of forget there were
still two seconds. Left In the game the celtics advanced
the ball to half court, on the time out and,
On The inbounds Play Dannis johnson found larry bird in
the corner and he had a good look at the

(33:05):
basket when he, left that shot go it looked every
bit like. It was going, in it Rimmed out and
the lakers took a three to one lead and would
then go on to win. The SERIES in SIX but
i square i thought the baby hook. Was at the,
buzzer no It wasn't and the celtics actually had a
chance to come back. And win the game magic's junior

(33:26):
hook comes. In at number three moving, On to number
two and when We Think back to michael jordan's Final
Shot in, a chicago bulls uniform we remember him shooting
that twenty foot jumper from just above the free throw
Line That eliminated The utah jazz in game six of
THE Nineteen. Ninety eight, nba finals and yes You may

(33:46):
Remember that Jordan Gave jazz guard byron russell a bit.
Of a push, OFF by the way i noticed that
no one said anything about A Push off WHEN. Portland
trailblazer's guard cj McCollum Pushed off on. My nuggets last
weekend but that's. Neither here nor there and you Might
also remember that The win By the bulls Gave jordan
and the. Bulls their sixth title but what you might

(34:08):
Not remember is that jordan had missed ten second half,
shots in that game and it was. Mostly due to
fatigue if, you watch that Game every shot that jordan took,
in the second half. They kept falling short he kept
hitting the. Front, Of the rim hey jordan was, running
out of steam he, had no legs left and he
was getting no. Lift on his shot so when he
takes that final, shot of the game he leaves his

(34:31):
hand up on the final through and a lot of,
sports media people said. He's making a statement. I'm hitting
this shot it, IS my final shot i am KNOCKING
this down and i. Am, ending this series. Yeah that's
dead wrong that's not. What Happened at all michael jordan
was trying to make sure he got some lift and
some touch on that shot because he had been flat and.

(34:51):
He had, been short but again this shot wasn't. A
buzzer beater either there were still five point two seconds
left on The clock and the bulls up. By Just
One point the utah jazz had a chance to win
this game because They Inbounded it to john stockton and
he took a three pointer. As the clock expired he
actually got, a pretty Decent Look even though ron harper did.

(35:13):
Come over to challenge but if, you watch that shot
it is straight and it has a Chance when, it
leaves stockton's hand but It rims out And jordan and
the bulls win Their. SIXTH title in utah i know
we kind of think of his final shot. Being, a
buzzer beater yeah that wasn't. The case at all so
now we, get to number one and our number one

(35:33):
entry is actually going. Back quite, a ways in fact
we are going all the way back TO The. Nineteen
seventy nba finals in one of. The, Craziest games ever
yes GAME Three, of The Nba Finals the los Angeles
Lakers And the new york knicks were tied, at One
game Each and dave de busher's Short jumper gave the
knicks a two point lead with three, seconds left To

(35:57):
play but the, lakers had no timeouts so the To The.
Ball to jerry west now the clock. Is down to
two he takes three dribbles up, the floor. And well
chaos ensued because HERE'S a Clipcourtesy of nba dot, Com
do brusher, Shirts jerry sack second. West turns it up

(36:20):
he hid. Hid, Over Hand time yes jerry west nails
about a sixty foot. Shot for the win. What, an
amazing finish yeah except the game wasn't over because remember
back in nineteen seventy there was, no three point line

(36:41):
so his half court shot it. Just Tied the game
the lakers would actually go on, to lose in Overtime
And Eventually the new york knicks would Win the, championship
in game Seven When nick center willis reid Would Limp
Back into madison square garden and fire the home crowd
up As he led the. New to, the championship but

(37:02):
hey what An Amazing shot by jerry west at. The
end of, regulation but you know it's just kind of
funny because as sports fans sometimes we tend to over
romanticize plays or games or make them something. That they,
just weren't Last Weekend we saw kawhi leonard hit that amazing.
Shot at the buzzer, but you know what, in a

(37:22):
few years we're going to be telling people that it was,
like a three pointer, that he was fouled that, it
was partially blocked and that it hung on the rim
for like, a full commercial break because that's just what.
We do with sports our memories are not, always the
most exact and sometimes we tend to inflate what happened.
Just a tiny bit i'm not saying, we change everything
completely but we might exaggerate it. Just a little bit but.

(37:43):
You know what's, crazy you never know we just might
see another crazy shot or two by the. End, of
these playoffs Hey Next, week on the dose we will
get back to our regular format and we will be
recapping all of the sports news that we may have missed.
