Speaker 1 (00:06):
Wednesday, August six, twenty twenty five, you are listening to
the Daily Dough Sports podcast and I am your host,
Clinton Daily, coming to you from my seed here in Denver, Colorado,
and we are back for another week of talking sports
with the dose of common sense. Hey, Happy Wednesday to you.
Hope you had a good weekend. Hope your week is
going well. Hope you your family, your friends, you're all
(00:27):
staying strong and you're all staying healthy right now. And hey,
we're starting to get to an interesting time of year
right because the NFL preseason is now underway as the
Pro Football Hall of Fame Game took place last Thursday
evening from the Los Angeles Chargers trounced the Detroit Lions
(00:49):
thirty four to seven. And then on Saturday we saw
the Hall of Fame induction. Saw four very deserving players
get in. Wide receivers Sharp been a long time coming.
He deserves to get in. Defensive back Eric Allen was
a great one. Defensive lineman Jared Allen and tight end
Antonio Gates were given their bust in Canton, Ohio. But
(01:14):
the game itself, like what do you take from that?
I mean, the Chargers blew off the Lions. It's not
exactly how we see this season going, is it. So
if you're a Chargers fan, you're looking at that game,
you're film pretty good. Hey, Chargers might be better than
we think. Jim Harbaugh is so good he has revived
(01:36):
the career of quarterback Trey Lance. I mean, Lance looks
like a washout. Plus, the Chargers found a steel and
running back of Maryon Hampton. Hey, they just might be
a sneaky team in the AFC this year. Okay, fair enough. Meanwhile,
if you're a Lions fan, then you're saying, hey, it's
(01:56):
just preseason, nothing to see here. Okay, So who's right? Well,
in a way, they're both a little bit right. Understand this.
In the NFL preseason you can sometimes see some very
good individual performances. Hey, maybe Trey Lance can revive his
(02:18):
career a little bit. Maybe Hampton is going to be
a solid runner for the Chargers. However, you cannot take
anything from the team results whatsoever. Always remember back in
two thousand and eight, the Detroit Lions went four and
on in the preseason and then went oh and sixteen
in the regular season. Hey, some teams are trying, others
(02:41):
are not. Some players are trying, others are not. Preseason
football is a mess and you really can't take much
from it. Oh, but make no mistake, I will be
watching my own team. Hey, today on the dose we
will continue getting you ready for that football season. We're
actually going to be taking a look at some of
the best players in the NFL this year, and our
(03:03):
deal with US Top five is going to take a
look at some of the insanity that is college football.
But first, we do have a little bit of news
to jump into, and let's stay in the NFL, where
we are seeing a few players holding out right now
and it's starting to get a little bit better. Cincinnati
Bengals defensive lineman Trey Hendrickson is at camp with the Bengals,
(03:28):
but he's not practicing. Okay, at least he's there right Meanwhile,
in Dallas, linebacker Micah Parsons has asked to be traded
because the Cowboys are not giving him the offer he wants. Hey,
Michael Parsons is pretty good. In just sixty three games,
he has tallied fifty two and a half sacks. He
(03:50):
has been a wrecking ball defensively. I mean when you
see the players TJ Watt, Max Crosby, Miles Garrett getting
massive contracts. Yeah, Parsons wants a little bit of that money,
but the Cowboys are going to stretch this out and
they'll probably end up paying more in the long run.
Remember back in the heyday of the Cowboys, you know,
(04:13):
when they actually won games. Remember Jerry Jones didn't want
to pay him at Smith and he sat out a
few games before eventually bringing him back and going on
to winning a Super Bowl. I think we were still
watching that on Black and white TV. I don't remember.
And in Washington Pro Bowl wide receiver Terry McLaurin, the
Commander's star wide receiver, has also asked for a trade.
(04:36):
He is frustrated by that front office's inability to give
him a contract extension. And I mean, he's only been
their top offensive weapon since twenty nineteen. McLaurin has been
Washington's most consistent playmaker. He has put up with some
really bad quarterbacks, but they don't seem to want to
pay him, which is a little bit weird. You know.
(04:59):
I'm sure all three of these guys are going to
end up getting deals. It might take some longer than others,
and in the case of Michael Parsons, it could be
halfway through the season before he gets a deal. But
here's the biggest thing I keep thinking of. While we
have both the Cowboys and the Commanders dealing with this,
(05:20):
the Philadelphia Eagles are out working on the football field
like they have a Super Bowl trophy in the closet.
They forgot about that. They're on the field getting better
every day. And something tells me that as these two
teams in the NFC East are going through these contract disputes,
that Eagles are just gonna plow through that division really,
really easily once again. And I know I'm starting to
(05:43):
get a little bit concerned about what I'm seeing from
the NFC East. Outside of the Eagles moving over to
Major League Baseball, the Major League Baseball trade deadline was
actually insanely busy last week. There were sixty eight trades
made on the deadline day. There are a few trades
that I really liked and also a few things that
(06:05):
I just don't get. The Seattle Mariners acquired the two
best hitters to move at the deadline in Uhennio Suarez
and Josh Naylor in two separate trades with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
And what's crazy is they really didn't have to give
up any of their big time prospects to get those
two guys. Very impressive. Seattle could be dangerous over in
(06:28):
that American league. I like what they did. And then
on the other side, we have the Minnesota Twins who
just held a fire sale and traded away ten up
their twenty six player roster. I mean, we're the Twins
that bad. They're like five and a half games back
in the wild card race. But apparently they're just gonna
(06:49):
blow everything up and start over completely. And I know
sometimes that sounds good. You know, the child mentality, just
burn it down and start all over. You know what
you means. It usually means a few years of starving
in the desert while you watch that disaster. That's what
it usually means. I also didn't care for what the
Chicago Cubs did or didn't do. You know, they need
(07:12):
to be trying to keep pace with the Milwaukee Brewers.
They didn't do that at all. So now we get
a watch. Can anyone in the National League or in
all of Major League Baseball keep up with the Los
Angeles Dodges down the stretch? And I do also kind
of like what those San Diego Padres did. That might
be a team to watch at least put some pressure
(07:34):
on the Dodgers, who are banged up and over in
that American league. Who's going to separate themselves? Could it
be a Seattle, Hey, Houston made a few moves, I like,
or are we just going to see Detroit or maybe
Toronto actually prove they are the class of the league. Hey,
baseball is going to start at least getting interesting. I
(07:55):
won't be in until the leagus start changing colors, but
it's at least going to get a little more interesting.
Moving over to college football, the coaches have weighed in
on who they think the top teams are this year
in college football. We did get our first coaches poll
released with Texas at number one, Ohio State, two, Penn
(08:15):
State at three, Georgia and Notre Dame filling out the
top five. That was in the preseason Top twenty five
which was released on Monday. Of course, we know that's
not going to last that long because number one Texas
will be facing number two Ohio State in the season
opener on August thirtieth. That will be at the Horseshoe
(08:37):
in Columbus, but Ohio State got twenty first place votes,
Penn State got fourteen, Georgia got three, and number six
Clemson got two and also that a number one vote. Yeah, Dabbo,
we know that was you. Like I said, Clemson did
come in six, Oregon at seven, Alabama eight, LSU at nine,
(09:00):
and Miami rounds out the top ten. People of other
notable teams that did get a few votes that I
found interesting, And I know maybe this is just me,
but the University of Colorado, who lost both Heisman winning
wide receiver defensive back whatever he is, Travis Hunter and
starting quarterback Shador Sanders, somehow got twelve votes in that poll. Huh,
(09:23):
that's weird. So it wasn't just Deon voting eleven other
coaches voted for him, and Florida State, who went two
and ten last year, got eight votes. Now that's kind
of weird to me. But can I tell you what
happens on these coaches polls. I shouldn't tell you this,
but I have voted in coaches polls before, and I'm
going to give you a little brief look behind the
(09:46):
curtain of coaches polls. Sometimes you vote your conscience. Hey,
I think that team's gonna be better than anybody thinks. Hey,
I actually like what he's got going over there. They're
going to be pretty sneaky. They're not going to get
all the preseason high, but they're going to be better.
That does happen, And you know what else happens. Sometimes
you vote to set expectations higher for teams you don't
(10:09):
like or coaches you don't like, and something tells me
that's what this is. But I guess we're gonna find
out thing. In college athletics, the men and women's NCAA
basketball tournaments will not be expanding beyond sixty eight teams,
at least not this year. That was announced on Monday.
(10:31):
NCUBA Senior President of Basketball Dan Gavitt announced expanding the
tournament field is no longer being contemplated for the twenty
twenty six Basketball Championships. However, the committees will continue conversations
on whether to recommend expanding in the future. Now, the
idea of expanding the tournament to either seventy two or
(10:52):
seventy six teams was actually getting a little bit of momentum.
They're gonna hold off on that, but I fully expect
this to come back probably next year in the spring,
because honestly, why would they not want more money. If
you can print money, you print money, right, They're going
to print some more. It's going to expand. Oh and
(11:14):
don't be surprised when they also expand the college football
Playoff because that will be coming. Two. Just get used
to it. It's coming. Finally, just three months ago, former
NFL player Shannon Sharp was reportedly nearing a one hundred
million dollars licensing deal for his two podcasts, Club Shay
(11:35):
Shay and Nightcap. He also had a six million a
year contract with ESPN to co host First Take alongside
Steven A. Smith. Smith had even named Sharp as his
preferred successor if he ever stepped away from that sports
talk show. However, of course, we know in the spring,
(11:56):
sharp sex girlfriend had filed a fifty million dollar lawsuit
against him in which she accused him of sexual assault,
and even though the case in said the last week,
ESPN has now informed Shannon Sharp that he will not
be returning to the network and also that he will
not be getting his podcast deal either. But simply, the
(12:18):
allegations against Sharp cost him at least eight figures over
the next few years. Now, I do think he can
probably go out and drum up some business. He's got
enough of a following, but hey, his involvement with women
and whatever he had going, it's going to cost him
a little bit of money. But something to keep in mind.
(12:38):
You know, Skip Bayless is another big name out in
the sports media world, and we've never heard anything about
Skip Bayless being involved with women in any kind of situation.
In fact, Skip has stated on record he didn't want
to get involved with that because he wanted to focus
on being the best sports personality in this business. So
(13:00):
you had Shanna Sharp getting involved with all the women,
and you had to Skip Bails getting involved with zero women.
And I think what we've learned here is that both
of these gentlemen have failed massively, but in very very
different ways. Kids, kids, you're both just awful. So the
(13:20):
twenty twenty five NFL season is coming quickly as the
preseason is now here. Hey, we've actually got three more
games kicking off Tomorrow night, three more on Friday night,
and then a host of games on Saturday and Sunday.
And of course we're at that time of year where
no news is good news. We just don't want injuries especially,
(13:41):
don't want injuries to your starting quarterback. You know, there
is no position in sports that is as important as
the NFL quarterback. They touched the ball in every single play,
and if they're bad, you can win. But you have
to be great everywhere else to even have a chance. Well, today,
we are going to bring you our daily power rankings
for the top ten NFL quarterbacks right now. And here's
(14:05):
the caveat that I have if I were drafting right now,
all things be equal, here are the quarterbacks that I
would select. Wet's start off at number ten, and at ten,
I'm going to put a guy that has been much
maligned in his career, and actually just a couple of
seasons ago, it was kind of looking like Baker Mayfield
(14:25):
might wash out of the league. But he went to
Tampa and his career has taken off. You know. Drafted
number one by the Cleveland Browns back in twenty eighteen,
he struggled and then you'll remember they brought into Sean
Watson and let him go. He went to Carolina, didn't
do very well. He went to the Rams as a backup,
and I think he kind of figured some things out
(14:47):
working with head coach Sean McVay, because then he signed
with Tampa. Do you realize that Baker had the best
year of his career last year, completing seventy one percent
of his passes, he threw forty one touchdowns. But Baker
would be my number ten at number nine, and this
might be a little too low, but I need more
proof before I moved second year Washington quarterback Jayden and
(15:11):
Daniels up any higher. Last year, Daniels could not have
been more impressive as a rookie. He went twelve and five.
He threw twenty five touchdowns, he had nearly thirty six
hundred yards, and took the Commanders all the way to
the NFC title Game. In addition, he ran for six
more touchdowns. But I've seen this before in Washington. Robert
(15:33):
Griffin started strong, but he couldn't stay healthy, and last
year everything that could break right broke right for Washington.
I want to see a little bit more, but right
now I have Jade and Daniels at number nine because
that was one of the best starts I've seen in history. Okay,
I know I'm going to get some pushback, but at
number eight, I'm going to place Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts,
(15:56):
And I know he doesn't put up big passing numbers,
but he's a guy that just does what his team
asks him to do, and he does it pretty well.
In twenty twenty four, it looked like Jalen was pressing
a little bit. Last year, he looked like he let
the game come to him and he led the Eagles
all the way to a Super Bowl win. Yes, I
(16:18):
know his passing numbers weren't quite as strong. He didn't
even break three thousand yards passing, but he threw for
eighteen touchdowns. He ran for fourteen touchdowns. Yeah, I take
Jalen Hurts on my team in a second. I've got
him at number eight. At number seven, I'm gonna put
another young guy that actually took a bit of a
step backward last year, and I want to see what
he does this year. But the Houston Texans CJ. Stroud
(16:41):
still led his team to the playoffs and he got
him a playoff win. In his rookie season, CJ threw
for forty one hundred yards, He had twenty three touchdowns
and only five interceptions. Well, last year, his yard had
dropped to thirty seven hundred yards. He only had twenty
touchdowns and his interceptions jumped up to twelve, but he
(17:02):
also got sacked fifty two times. Protect your quarterbacks, Houston,
And like I said, while he did take a step
back last year, he beat the Los Angeles Charges in
the playoffs and he gave the Kansas City Chiefs all
they wanted. So CJ. Stroud would be my number seven.
At number six, I will put Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff,
(17:23):
who led one of the best offenses in the league
last year. But of course then they got taken out
in the postseason. But that wasn't all his fault. He
did have a rough game. But after starting his career
in LA with the Rams, GoF got traded to Detroit
and it seemed like this has actually worked out for
both players and both franchises. Yes, I know GoF has
(17:45):
a ton of weapons in Detroit, but I mean he
threw for forty six hundred yards last year. He had
thirty seven touchdowns. And GoF isn't a guy that gets
out of the pocket and makes plays with his legs.
He's a guy that sits in the pocket and carves
you up. Jared Gosferdy good though he's my number six.
At number five, I will put the guy that the
(18:06):
Lions traded for Jared Goff, and that, of course, his
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matt Stafford. Now, remember Stafford was
stuck with those terrible Lions teams for the first twelve
years of his career. He was good, but he had
just a seventy four and ninety record. He did have
one tie, but he went to LA. He got put
(18:27):
in Sean mcvay's scheme. He is now thirty four and
twenty three as a starter in LA, and he did
win a Super Bowl there last year. I kind of
kept doubting the Rams, but Stafford just kept willing them
to win. He didn't even have that greatest stats, but
he came up with big plays when they had to
have him, and somehow he led the Rams of the
(18:47):
postseason where they smacked the Vikings and then gave the
eventual Super Bowl champion Eagles all they wanted for sixty minutes. Now,
I am concerned about his health issues this year. He's
already banged up, but I'll still take Matt Stafford at
number five. At number four, I'm going to put Baltimore
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, who just keeps proving that he
(19:11):
is one of the top quarterbacks in the league, but
he also keeps coming up short in the playoffs. Having
said that, it's not always his fault. Last season, of course,
Lamar was in that dog fight for the MVP Award,
but he came up short and then the Ravens once
again crashed and burned in the postseason. But hey, Lamar
had the best year of his career. He passed for
(19:32):
nearly forty two hundred yards. He had forty one passing
touchdowns and another four rushing touchdowns. Hey, Lamar can just
beat you in so many ways. He puts so much
pressure on defense. As I love Lamar Jackson, I've got
him at number four. At number three, I will put
the quarterback on this list whose team keeps letting him down,
(19:55):
and that, of course is the Cincinnati Bengals and quarterback
Joe Burrow. You know, the real knock on Burrow is
that he just hasn't stayed healthy. But again, that's not
his fault. That is usually the fault of his team.
In his five seasons so far, Joe Burrow has been
sacked in insane one hundred and ninety six times. Hey, kids,
(20:18):
that's forty times a year. And all Burrow does is
through really accurate passes. Last year, the Bengals went just
nine to eight. They missed the playoff, but he was
amazing all year. Burrow threw for nearly five thousand yards.
He had forty three touchdowns. Oh and by the way,
the Bengals offense averaged twenty eight points a game. Unfortunately,
(20:40):
in those eight losses, the awful defense allowed thirty four
points per game. Hey, it's hard to score thirty five
points a game on NFL defenses. That's tough, and Burrow
almost did it. I've got him at number three. At
number two, I will place the MVP Buffalo Bills quarterback
Josh Allen, who just keeps putting up amazing seasons and
(21:04):
then just keeps getting beat by the Kansas City Chiefs
in the playoffs. Allen, of course, did win that MVP.
Last year. He put up forty total touchdowns. He led
the Bills to the AFC title game. And once again,
a lot of times, Josh Allen is at the mercy
of what his defense does, and in a lot of
big games they let him down. But he's so big
(21:27):
He's so strong. He can beat you his arm, he
can beat with his legs. And the biggest positive I
took away from last season was that he eliminated a
lot of those what in the world does he thinking plays?
That will be huge again this year because I actually
think the Bills have upgraded their defense a little bit.
Buffalo is going to be tough. I've got Josh Allen
(21:47):
at too. And if you gave me the first pick
in an NFL draft, as much as it would pay
me to admit it, I'd have to take Kansas City
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. And yes, I know the Chiefs
offense dropped a bit last year. They didn't have the
offensive weapons that they've had in the past. Travis Kelsey
is getting older. But even in that Super Bowl against
(22:10):
the Eagles, everything going to Eagles way, you still were
a little bit nervous that maybe Mahomes was gonna get
hot and find some magic and find a way to
get things interesting. And yes, I know it does help
that he's in Andy Reid's offense, and yes, sometimes Andy
Reid's offense gets a little too cute, but Patrick Mahomes
(22:32):
is just so dangerous. He makes plays when the game
is on the line, and I would still make him
my number one NFL quarterback until someone else comes and
takes that crown. Hey, remember that you should be stopping
by Daily dosports dot com every week to check out
what new things we have going on over there. Got
links to podcast, got links to videos, We've got links
(22:55):
to Daily Do Skier. If you need a hat, a
T shirt, a sweatshirt, a hoodie, make sure you stop
by over there. And we do have links to Daily
Dose articles that I release each week. They have more
of a local flavor in factor. If you saw this
week I discussed the Pro Football Hall of Fame and
how they once again missed the boat on a very
(23:16):
very deserving inductee. Sure he'll get it eventually, but as usual,
the Hall of Fame makes no sense. And don't forget.
You can email the podcast at Dailydo Sports at gmail
dot com. We do hear from listeners regularly. It is
always good to hear from you, and if you have
something that we find particularly interesting, it could end up
here on the podcast itself. So make sure you're stalking
(23:38):
by Daily dosports dot com each and every week now
as we do so many weeks here through the daily dose,
we need to get over to our daily dose Top five. Okay,
it's not just the NFL. College football will be cranking
things up in just a matter of weeks. And I
(23:59):
don't know why, but college football just hits different the traditions,
the passion, the pageantry, the rivalries, the tailgating, the stadiums.
College football is just a completely different entity. Did I
mention the stadiums. Did you know that in the entire world,
(24:20):
of the twenty largest stadiums on the planet, twelve of
them belong to American universities. Yeah, are college football stadiums
in this country. They're just insane and they're always looking
to get bigger and louder and create even more of
a home field advantage. Today, our daily use Top five
(24:40):
is counting down the largest college football stadiums in terms
of capacity, and I probably need to hurry up because
as I speak, I'm sure a few of these crazy
stadiums are adding a few more seats. We start off
at number five and we go to a stadium that
has a rich tradition and also some of the wildest
traditions in the country, because Tiger Stadium in Baton, Rug's
(25:04):
Louisiana has had some wild moments in its history, and
Louisiana State University has some of the richest traditions in
the country, from the tailgating and folks at the tailgate
out there making gumbo and fifty five gallon drums, to
at one point LSU keeping a live tiger on the
field in a cage next to the opponent's tunnel as
(25:27):
they entered the field. But Tiger Stadium has a history
of getting loud, and I mean really loud, how loud
well loud enough to set off the earthquake sensors. Back
in nineteen eighty eight, the undefeated Auburn Tigers came to town,
and when the two and two LSU Tigers pulled off
an improbable upset in the final seconds, the seismic earthquake
(25:49):
sensors on campus registered earthquake equivalent to a five point zero.
The stadium shook, windows were actually broke on campus. But
I mean, what do you expect when your stadium holds
one hundred and two thousand, three hundred and twenty one fans.
(26:10):
Tiger Stadium at LSU comes in to date a number five,
We arrive at number four and we go to a
stadium that just recently had a massive rebuild in order
to expand to even more and to get even more
people in there being loud and noisy. You know, they
say everything is bigger in Texas, And in twenty thirteen,
(26:30):
Kyle Field in College Station, Texas felt like they needed
to catch up. The stadium had expanded to eighty thousand
people back in nineteen eighty that after all of that
money Johnny Manziel brought in. The folks at A and
M decided to go big or go home. So they
went big. Kyle Field was expanded to raise their capacity
(26:52):
to one hundred and two thousand, seven hundred and thirty
three screaming yelling fans and M. They do scream and yell.
In fact, the school holds yell practice on Friday nights
to teach their fans how to project their voices to
make the most noise for opponents and it works. A
(27:14):
and M prize themselves on their crowd, being the twelfth
man and giving them a huge home field advantage. Hey,
it's no wonder when you pack over one hundred and
two thousand screaming maniacs in your stadium. They make some noise.
Texas A and M's Kyle Field comes in today at
number four. Number three, we go to a school that
for years was one of the biggest stadiums in the country,
(27:36):
but just recently has slid a couple of notches to
the number three spot. But considering that the south end
of the stadium is still partially open, so that from
above the stadium is kind of in the shape of
a horseshoe, it's pretty impressive that Ohio Stadium in Columbus,
Ohio still crams in one hundred and two thousand, seven
(27:59):
hundred and eights. For years, the Buckeyes have been in
a battle with a couple of conference rivals. They keep
uping their capacity, but Ohio State stopped making changes in
twenty nineteen. But I'm sure they'll add a few more
seats here soon. I do need to add the caveat
Ohio State has packed way more people into that stadium
(28:21):
than their capacity. In twenty sixteen their overtime win over
the University of Michigan, the reported audience was listed as
one one hundred and ten thousand and forty five fans,
which they claim allowed a number of people into the
stadium without seats and just standing room only. But Ohio
State comes in to day at number three because, like
(28:42):
I said, their official capacity is listed as one hundred
and two thousand and seven eighty even though they have
had at least ten games with attendance over one hundred
and eight thousand. We're keeping it official today. So Ohio
State comes in at number three. The number two largest
stadium in all of colle college football is out of
school that doesn't just pack the fans in. They do
(29:05):
it in very impressive fashion. Because it's one thing to
see a stadium that is packed. It's another thing entirely
to pack your stadium with over one hundred and seven
thousand fans all wearing white in a night game in
University Park, Pennsylvania. But the Penn State Nittany Lions have
(29:25):
the patent on the term whiteout, and it really isn't
all that close. Beaver Stadium opened in nineteen sixty, it
held a meagre sixty nine thousand fans, But since then, yeah,
Penn State just keeps expanding and adding more and more
and more seats and no one does that whiteout quite
like Penn State. Penn State isn't afraid to do the
(29:46):
standing room only thing either. In fact, a record crowd
of over one hundred and eleven thousand fans watched them
lose to Ohio State last year on November two. But
based on official capacity, Weaver Stadium, the home of the
Penn State Nitney Lions, comes in at number two, So
we reach the largest college football stadium in the country
(30:08):
in terms of capacity, and not only is our number
one entry the biggest college football stadium in the USA,
it is the biggest stadium in the United States period,
and it is actually also ranked as the number three
biggest stadium on planet Earth, behind two stadiums in Asia.
But Michigan Stadium in an Arbor, Michigan, is currently the
(30:32):
largest stadium in all of college football and then some. Yes,
the Big House as it is known, has an official
capacity of one hundred and seven thousand, six hundred and
one seats, but it has hosted crowds in excess of
one hundred and fifteen thousand. Michigan Stadium, of course, was
(30:53):
built in nineteen twenty seven at a cost of nine
hundred and fifty thousand bucks. Its original capacity was seventy
two thousand, but it has had at least ten significant
expansions to try to cram more people in there. Sure,
Michigan Stadium doesn't really have any upper levels, so they
just kept building it out. So when you're at the
(31:15):
top of that bowl, it's not that you're that high,
but you are like fourteen blocks away from the actual field.
But Hey, the University of Michigan both the largest stadium
in the United States and the Western Hemisphere, the third
largest stadium in the world, and the thirty fourth largest
sports venue in the entire world. Again, college football is
(31:37):
just different. From the stadiums, to the traditions, to the
silly songs and the mascots and the fans and the
games themselves. College football is a unique entity and I
cannot wait for it to come back. Hey, next become
the Dose. We are going to continue getting you ready
for football. We're going to be discussing a few things
(31:58):
to look for very very early in the season. Plus
we will keep you up on all things sports, and
we just might have another daily Dose Top five for you.
So make sure you check out a Dose and make
sure you let a friend know do the same. I
can't want to say thank you to each and every
one of you for listening to the daily dose every week.
Thank you for the emails, thank you for the text,
thank you for the tweets, But more than anything, thank you
for sharing the show, for sharing the videos, and for
(32:19):
sharing the articles with someone that you know we absolutely
love it when you do that, I'll say thank you
to Jess P. Could not do any of this without you.
I will see you all next Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (32:28):
Have a great week, everybody.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
