Speaker 1 (00:13):
What is ubrabody? Welcome to this week's episode of the
Dentz Pixels Podcast. I am your host, Brad, concealed by
an avatar thanks to technical difficulties tonight. For the video
viewers anyway, the audio listeners, there's no difference. I'm joined
by my co hosts, Micah Hey and Terrence. What's up?
(00:34):
So not a lot of news this week, which is
fine because I've got a big game to talk about.
Terrence has a big game to talk about that Mike
had talked about a little bit last week. So I
want to get right into blue Prints, which seems to
be Oh, you played it too, Oh it's fantastic. I'm
I'm really curious to know what you thought.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
About it because I played it for like fifteen minutes. Okay, yeah,
I don't I don't get it. So yeah, so then
I understand it, but I don't understand why people are
creaming their pants over it.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Well it's well, it's interesting, so like Blueprints is like
and this is Blueprints is in like royalty, not like
a blueprint for a house. Yet it's a double entendre
of sorts because the game also does have to deal
with you using blueprints to kind of make your way
through this house. So it's a unique puzzle game for sure.
I mean this is a puzzle game. This is like
(01:31):
a puzzle exploration game. A lot of people have compared
it to The Outer Wilds in terms of how the
game loop is, because like, literally you are you were
playing like where The Outer Wilds worked on like a timer, right,
Like you had a twenty two minute timer for each run,
(01:52):
and then the world would like reset itself and you
had to figure out, Okay, for this run, I'm gonna
go check out this area to try to figure out
this thing, and it would lead you to clue that
would help you in other areas. This is kind of
the same thing, except that it is a it's done
kind of like a roguelike game where the corre can
seat of the game is you start in the like
(02:14):
the entrance room of this giant manner, right, and the
conceit of the game is to get yourself to the
anti chamber on the opposite side of the matter. The
manner is laid out on like a five x nine
grid essentially, okay, and you start at the bottom of
the anti chambery. Yeah, and that's the thing. It's a
forty five room mannor but you're looking for secret room
(02:36):
number forty six, And every room has at least one
door that leads to another room in the house. But
when you open the door, the game gives you a
choice of three different rooms that you can draft, and
you pick which room you want. That room you know
when you open the door that room is on the
other side. And then each room gives you like a
(02:58):
special ability of some kind or gives you like one
of the couple of different currencies that are in the
game that you need. So like you have gems which
you need to unlock certain like rare rooms. You have
money that you can use to buy different items that
you can use to help yourself out. Some doors are locked,
you need keys for those to be able to open them.
(03:18):
And then you also have kind of a timer of towarts,
like you have a step counter, and every time you
enter into a room, you lose a step, and if
you're run out of steps, then you have to end
the day. And the best way that I can describe
this game, since it's kind of unique, like there's really
nothing out there that's like it, it's to me it's
(03:38):
like an escape room game a sort. It's like, if
you like the type of puzzles that are in escape rooms,
this game will probably appeal to you. The thing that's
interesting about it is that the puzzles are kind of
organically in the manner sometimes like hiding in playing sight
you don't even realize, And it's kind of like people
(04:04):
have also compared it to like a Metroid style game,
because you'll come across things in a room and you know,
you'll be like, oh, there's there's some puzzle that's going
on here, I don't know how to solve it. And
then further on in the manner like you'll go into
another room that'll give you kind of like push you
in the right direction or kind of give you the
tools that you need so that on a future run
(04:25):
you can come back to that same room and solve
the puzzle that's in there to get some kind of reward.
And there's there's a broad swath of puzzles, like some
stuff that you know, puzzles that you'll do every run
because you know you'll see that room frequently as you
come across, and some puzzles that are like take place
across the entire game. I'm about ten hours in to
(04:47):
the game right now, and I will say that solving,
especially like the wider ranging puzzles, like the ones that
are broad across like the game itself, is really satisfying,
like when you kind of have those aha moments where
it's like oh, like like like I'll give you one example,
and I'm not gonna spoil anything, because I think this
(05:08):
is a game that if you're interested in it is
best to kind of go and blind. There's like almost
every room in the house that you go into, we'll
have like two paintings like hand drawn, not even paintings
like hand drawn, like pieces of art on the wall right,
and the two things have nothing to do with one another,
but there is like a connection between them. And for
(05:32):
literally for like the first eight nine hours, I was like,
all right, I guess this being something, but like I can't,
Like I'm looking at them and this doesn't make any
sense to me, Like it doesn't make sense that these
two things go together. And then like on one of
the runs, I'm like, all right, I'm looking at this painting,
and I looked at the two things, I'm like, oh,
I'll like I totally get it. And then like I
went to see another set of paintings and the same
(05:54):
thing like like like the same logic kind of lined
up and I was like, oh shit, like I figured
out like half of the puzzle of of these drawings
that are in the room, and that that always fucking
feels great, and there's there like the game is like
an onion. I keep peeling back stuff and there keeps
being more to to find, like more than I'm more
(06:17):
than you would reasonably think on the surface. And I
think one of the like the people that don't like
this game, and I'm not saying like you, Terrence, because
I know this style game is hard. Your jam no, no, no, no no.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
A lot of people two minutes and I was like, okay,
I don't well I still haven't downloaded.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
I'm like, yeah, you got it. You gotta give it
more than fifteen minutes, right, like you gotta get worse.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
I'm walking around a house just draft and ship. I'm
not a fucking architect.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
Well, I think where the problem is that a lot
of folks that have bounced off of the game kind
of get frustrated is the game tells you, like the
goal is to get to the anti chamber, right, like
that's that's kind of the objective anti chamer. Yet no,
not at all, because now because that I've learned that
that is not the right way to play the game, like,
(07:06):
like the right way to play the game is to
discover new shit. Like like like I've heard a lot
of people give this advice, and I would agree with
this advice, Like you have the best time in Blueprints
when you're presented with a room that you've never seen before,
and you draft that room so that you see like
what's inside of it, and what's inside like might surprise you,
Like it might lead you to something that you've been
(07:29):
looking for and you just didn't know you needed it,
or it might like spin off a whole new mystery
for you. And I'm at the point now where like
I know how to get to the ante Chamber, and
I know how to I think I know how to
get through it, but there's still a couple more things
that I need to do to be able to successfully
do that. Like like there's again there's a lot of
(07:50):
different machinations and a lot of different things to kind
of find and unlock in the game as you go along.
And some of the folks that review this game like
they're talking like they've played put over one hundred hours
into this game, Like they like they've rolled credits and
they and like they've rolled credits at like hour thirty,
hour forty and they just keep playing, like they just
keep playing to discover new things and and kind of
(08:12):
look to see the different puzzles within. And again it's
done in a very clever way where so much in
this game is hiding in plain sight. It's also a
puzzle game that gives you a lot of like red
herrings if you if you're overlooking, like like and that's
the other thing I'll tell you, like, don't don't look
into everything, like like there's a lot of things that
(08:33):
seem like that they would be like, oh, this has
to mean something. A lot of times it doesn't. And
and that's the kind of the other thing you have
to figure out is like knowing what's important and what
you can ignore. But as someone who did not enjoy
the Outer Wilds, like I didn't particularly care for the
Outer Wilds, I'm having a really good time with this
(08:55):
and I keep desiring to go back to it constantly,
just because again like that itch of kind of solving,
the solving the big puzzles is really satisfying. And I
also like the game tells you like hey, like just fy.
They're like, this is the type of game where you
(09:15):
probably want to I want to jot down some notes notes. Yeah,
it's like, hey, T I was like, fuck, fuck you game,
Like like I got a big brain, I can I
can do this ship myself. My my Blueprint's notebook now
has about six pages worth of notes that look like
the ramblings of a madman. They get like like if
you were to read it, you'd be like, you wouldn't
(09:36):
know what any of the ship fucking means unless you
play the game. Like I have notes about the lab.
I have notes about a sheet music puzzle that they
have in the game, you know, scramblings of chess pieces,
and again like the painting the drawing puzzle that I
talked about, uh oodles of codes and numbers sequen that
(10:01):
I was looking for, Like there's a safe in the
game that you come across in one of the early rooms.
I'm ashamed to say it took me way too many
instances and way too many tries of the combination to
that safe when the answer is literally staring you in
the face. Like from the jump, and you just have
(10:22):
to not be an idiot when kind of thinking about
that sort of thing. So, but that being said, this
is not gonna be a game for everybody. This is
certainly not gonna be a game that everyone is going
to enjoy. You have to kind of be inclined to
like puzzle games, and you have to be okay with
a game that takes a little bit to get going.
(10:45):
But I think once you start peeling away the outer
layers of it and once you kind of start realizing
kind of speaking the game's language, for lack of a
better term, I think that's I think the game really
has a lot to offer once you get to that point.
(11:06):
And so I'm having a really good time. I'm gonna
stick with it for sure. I really at least want
to roll credits, and then once I roll credits, I'll
see if I'm still compelled to explore the mysteries of
the manner. But just knowing you guys and the types
of games you like to play, I don't necessarily know
(11:26):
that I would that I would recommend.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
This for you.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
When I started it, and I did, I did one
run mm hmm, and I'm like, Okay, I understand, like
there was a puzzle which there's three boxes. There's a
blue puzzle, a blue box, a white box, and a
black box.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Yes, the part the parlor is one of the earliest
rooms that you will got the.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
Little clues is that one box is false, one box
is true, and both something And so I opened a
box and I'm like, what nothing in it?
Speaker 1 (11:51):
Yeah? Fuck you? Because because you gets wrong. Yeah, because
like like the parlors, the parlor is one of the
ones that you solve like basically every run because that's
a reliable source of gems. But the clues on the
boxes change every single time, like they haven't, like I've
I've done probably twenty twenty parlor puzzles, and the clues
(12:12):
have been different every single time.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
Oh, I said this box is blue, this box is black,
and the I can't remember the middle of a white
white box. There's a white box, but said it didn't
say this box is white. It said something on it right,
all right?
Speaker 1 (12:26):
And and the trick and the tricks the parlor true right,
the trick the trick. The trick with the parlor game
is that one of like two of the boxes are
either telling the truth and one of the boxeses has
a false statement on it, or it's the other way around,
where two boxes have a false statement. And when I'm
telling the truth, then you have to deduce through the
logic that they give you which one were where which
(12:48):
box that the gems are hidden.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
And usually what a guy's like, I love your parlor
games about all right, well yeah, let me go ahead,
and these are both true.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
So eighty MENI miney mode. You lie to me.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
That pissed me off? And then uh, what what other?
What other room did I see? I saw the the planetarium,
I guess with the set with the observatory oatory. Yeah, yeah,
I mean I understand, I can see. I'd have to
play a little bit more. I'm like, I refuse, man, I'm.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
Not I don't have a piece of I don't I
don't have a note pay. Yeah I mean that that
that that is that that is the thing is that
I do think it's a game. And the reason Terrence
playing is because it's on Game Pass and it's also
on PlayStation Plus one of the premium tiers. Right now,
it's a game you'll you'll probably know within about two
hours whether or not it's your jam like like like
(13:47):
if you've played for two hours and you're like, I
am not having a good time. You're not gonna have
a good time like that, Like there's nothing, there's nothing
that unfolds later that's gonna be like, ah, this is
what this is what makes it interesting for me, Like
if you're not picking up with the game, is putting
down after a couple of runs in the in the
manner it's not gonna be for you, and you don't and.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
You don't have to bull are you. You're compared it
to an escape room, And it was just remembering of
the time that we all did the escape room for
my bachelor party, and really, I'm getting there, I'm getting there. Yeah,
and I'm getting there, and and and and it was
a beautiful thing, right because it was like all of
us and like like we're we're bright guys, right, Like
(14:29):
all of us are are are very intelligent people, right,
Like we're not ment to students, but we're not idiots, right,
And we're figuring this thing out and we get all
the way to the end and here's fucking plot hopper
j trips the fucking silent alarm or some ship at
the very end, literally the very end, like even the
(14:53):
guy and the guy running the room was like, I
mean normally like, but you you pretty much finished it,
so I'll just give it to you.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
Like he tripped at the end, y know, and it
was and it was one of those it was what
like the thing the way he tripped it is, if
I recall correctly, there was like a key or something
that we needed that was behind like a laser grid
that had to be deactivated first, and it was one
of the things that as he was moving towards the key,
like I realized that laser grid was there, but I
was it was I was too I couldn't. I could
(15:26):
not speak fast enough to stop it from from breaking
the thieves, which triggered the which triggered the alarm. Yeah,
it's a good time, Mike. Did you play did you
play the Witness?
Speaker 3 (15:42):
I did not play the Witness. That's uh from the
guy that did braid right. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
That that that's that's another one that people have compared
this to you. I also have not played The Witness.
I played a little bit of Witness. I'm like, I'm
too dumb for this game. I played it for like
thirty five minutes. I'm like, I don't. I don't feel
like racking my brain all this shit, so delete.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
This doesn't seem as bad because like The Witness just
made me mad, I don't.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
I don't think it is like like with blueprints. Like again,
like it's one of those things where it's like when
when you realize the solution to something, you're just like,
oh shit, like I like, how did I not like
like this was staring me in the face the whole time,
Like how did how did I not arrive at this
conclusion sooner? Like like it's like you don't feel like
mad at yourself, but you're just like oh, like like
of course, like like of course this is it? Like
(16:33):
it's so it's again, I haven't played The Witness, so
I don't know. I probably will at some point. I'm
sure I own it on like every console non demand
because it's been given away for free so often. But
but from I can't imagine, because I've heard a lot
about The Witness and how difficult some of the puzzles
are in the game, so I can't imagine it's harder
(16:54):
than that. But again, it's it's it's a game where
you really just with blueprints, you really just have embrace
the exploration. You really have to embrace the again, just
taking what the game gives you and not trying to
brute force your way to what the game tells you
is the end. And I don't even know if it
(17:14):
is the end, because I'll tell you I've discovered quite
a bit of secrets and other things that I that
I can't talk about on this on the grounds of
the estate and in the manner and stuff like that,
and it's and there's a story of the game is
also trying to tell very subtly, and as I'm uncovering
more about the story, I'm interested to learn more about
(17:36):
that as well. So again, if you're puzzle coded, I can,
I would recommend at least checking it out. If puzzle
games are not your forte then don't worry about it
like this one might just not be might not be
for you. So which is fine. Let's take a quick break.
(17:57):
When we come back, Terrence will give his thoughts on
South of Midnight. So Mike had talked a little bit
last week about the new game from Compulsion game South
the Midnight. Terrence has now played it as well. It
is out on game Pass. Have you beaten it? Because
I kne Mike, I said before the show, he did
not beat it, Terrence to beat it.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
Okay, I roll credits. Yeah, so the second game, I
roll credits in two weeks, putting a lot of time
in video games. Yeah, this game is, uh, it's a
mixed bag. But I love the game right. The it's
the gameplay, it's nothing to write home about, not even
like it's if you've played an action platform game.
Speaker 1 (18:33):
You've played this game before a thousand times.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
Where we've got between the three of us, we have
like one hundred and fifteen years worth of gaming.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
When you think about it, that fucking of that fucking hurts.
That fucking hurts to say, Hey, true, yeah, yeah, that's true.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
Forty years like me, forty years. I'm sure Mike has
got about forty years. You about Yeah, you're about to
hit forty If not forty, no.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
No, I'm already I'm already forty thirty thirty, good, thirty
five years exactly.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
You've got like one hundred and fifteen years worth of game,
so you've you've played it before, You've played this type
of game before.
Speaker 1 (19:07):
There's nothing wrong with it.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
Could be better gameplay wise. The the the drug of
this game is the story. It's a very good story.
The art style is also really good. Like the stop
animation didn't bother me, but it will resonate way more
with you if you're black. It just will, like like
it really will. Like this is the most authentically black
(19:29):
video game I think I've ever played in my forty years,
playing games like for.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
Real, without it being without it being like that c
before clip, you know what I mean, without it being
like I'm black, y'all, y'all, I'm black. Like it just
it's authentic. It's not trying to be. It's not trying
to be too much. It's not trying to be it's
not trying to hide its blackness.
Speaker 4 (19:52):
But it's not.
Speaker 2 (19:54):
It's not a shamed of it either, you know what
I mean, It's not. It doesn't feel like it's pandering.
It doesn't feel forced. It's like he said, it's authentically black,
and like that gives it like an extra five points
for me, because I think I've ever played a game
where I just felt like black folks. This is a
Canadian game company, right, but like they consulted with this
(20:16):
company called Sweet Baby, Inc. And I've never heard of
them until last week.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
Oh, count yourself lucky, my friend, because I no, don't count.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
Myself lucky because I've been in the weeks long fucking just.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
A bunch of racists. Oh I see, I see. You've
encountered the the the Capital d discourse on on Sweet Baby, on.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
Top of everything else that is going on in the
world today with this administration and all this other bullshit.
Like I went to when I finished the game, well
before I finished the game, I kind of went to
see what some reviews were saying. But when I googledself
the mid Night reviews or YouTube them, I saw, like,
you know, the main reviews, and then I saw you know,
(20:59):
the sis.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
And I'm like, what the fuck is going on? And
I was. I watched the video and they like.
Speaker 2 (21:06):
This is a this is a it woke DEEI trash
of course, but then they kept talking about this gonna
be SBI and I'm like, who the fuck is that?
And then I saw one review was a black guy
reviewed the game. He was like, this is very good,
but the gameplay is kind of whack, Like that's perfectly
that's the perfectly fine review. But he said everything else
(21:27):
was great, which that's it, Like this game is so black.
There's even her idle animations. There's an idle animation where
she's sitting there and she fans herself just since then
fans herself. Like now that may not that may sound
ridiculous to you, Brad, because you're not black. But she
fans herself blackly. I don't know what, Like I'm telling you, Like.
Speaker 3 (21:51):
He's a track star, right, she's a track star, and
she runs like a track star. Right if you do running, yeah,
it's you do a running jump. It's a long jump
like it like a track star would do.
Speaker 4 (22:04):
Like it.
Speaker 3 (22:04):
Just there's so many like, there's so many little things
that I don't think most people will pick up on. Yeah,
unless you are, you know, unless like is this what
it's like to feeld scene?
Speaker 1 (22:22):
I mean, I mean again, I couldn't tell you because
I'm I am default, So like, I you know this,
this isn't a this is the problem I've had to deal.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
With very much throughout my life. But like I can't
stress this enough. How like it's really black. And the
the argument with the game outside of like the real
review saying like it's a really good story, and it
is a really good story. It's very dope it's very dark.
Speaker 1 (22:49):
It's much darker than you was, way darker than the
art style. But who would have you believe?
Speaker 2 (22:55):
Like there's a lot of go it's about trauma, it's
about like, uh, just past trauma pain.
Speaker 1 (23:01):
They brought up like slavery.
Speaker 2 (23:02):
So of course white people lost their minds if they
even played the game. But when I went online, I
saw it, like like I said, I saw those those
racists talking about that, and in this this black guy's review,
he's like, why do people hate the game? And like
it's racism, And then I have like a seventy comment
(23:23):
long underneath my shit. It's like seventy comments and everybody's
talk about everybody, and a lot of them will be
a lot of them are I'm like, it's racism. And
they're like, well you should look up with the with
the CEO said about white people and how she hates
white folks and Asians and you see what the community
manager said about and I'm like, well, first of all,
(23:45):
they're consultants. Compulsion Games consulted these people for like the
story and what they should put in the game, So
they didn't make the game, they just kind of associated
with it. But then I'm like, Okay, what did they
say that was so bad? Like what does she say
to make these niggs so mad? And I couldn't find it.
I couldn't find it. It took me like three days.
(24:07):
I can't find a video of her saying she hates
white people. I think she said like she'd rather not
hire white men in her company, which I mean fair,
plenty plenty of other play other white man jobs out there.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
Of the rest of the fucking you know industry.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
Whe you know, most of most most people just don't
say it, but they practice it, you know what I mean. Like,
so maybe that was it.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
So she said out laugh, No, if you're if you're
if you're a consulting firm that wants to just be
wants to tell diverse stories, the fuck is a white
man gonna tell you?
Speaker 1 (24:44):
Right?
Speaker 4 (24:45):
So we did it.
Speaker 3 (24:46):
We did it. We did it.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
Black and Black cinema, get the fuck out of it.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
Here, Like Matthew wanted to be on black or Black
cinema and it was just like no, no, sorry, you're
a nice guy, but like no, absolutely.
Speaker 1 (24:59):
That's right. I' I'm the only white person that's everden
all black and BLA. So I have photographic evidence. But
so I went to I searched and searched and searched.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
I didn't find a video. I couldn't find anything. But
I finally found what the community manager said in a
post about like white folks, and she said something along
the lines of, I don't want to be the only minority,
like when it comes to streaming video games and shit
like that on Twitch, whether it be YouTube, Twitch, whatever else.
I don't want to be the only person. I want
(25:33):
to see like people that look like me, queer folks,
trans folks, black, just people of color in general on
like the front page when you open up Twitch or YouTube,
and I don't want it to be like predominantly white men.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
Cis white men. That's it. Maybe she said that, maybe
she said something else. I don't know. No she said
she's I mean, that's that sounds like a statement that
would trigger.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
And I'm like, that's what you call racism. Yeah, that's
what you call racism. That's reverse racism.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
Inclusivity is racist, it is. I don't I don't want
to see no white man on Twitter. I want to
see I want to see all the people.
Speaker 1 (26:19):
I mean, I mean, inclusivity is one of the three. Uh,
forbidden letters, you know, yeah.
Speaker 2 (26:26):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I'm arguing this, I'm like so
and then and they're like, well, if people hated black
folks and video games so much, why did everybody buy?
Speaker 3 (26:37):
And I'm like, nigga, y know.
Speaker 2 (26:40):
I was like, you got to be kidding me. I
was like, you know what, go fund yourself. And I
got I think that the that the comment got taken
down because so I lost it.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
I'm like, wow, I mean again, as as as it's
been said on this network many times and it continues
to be the true fucking thing. The the racism are
racist is the N word for white people, Like like
that's that's just the fact. Like, like the reason that
you got a seventy comment threat is because you said
the R word and not the one you should. Yeah,
the racist word. And it came.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
Do you know what's funny about that? Andrea's comment If
that game was just called San Andreas and not Grand
Theft Auto, San Andreas.
Speaker 1 (27:25):
Wouldn't have bought it about it because it would have
been Saints for one, right.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
So yeah, you can create your character, right right, yes,
So it was I was just like, wow, you you people,
your people are fucked up.
Speaker 1 (27:44):
Right, Yeah, well, I mean, I'm not going to fight
you on that. I mean, it's again, I I have
a political podcast to do after we're done recording this,
so trust me. I'm I'm well aware of the fault,
the failings of the white race, as they like to say.
So yeah, they just pitched a fit.
Speaker 2 (28:01):
I'm like, good, look, yo, you're proving my point. Guys,
you do realize in this threat you are literally proving
my point. I just said it was racism. You can
clearly tell by all of the the negative reviews of
people that probably didn't play.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
I ain't even seen a nigga post some shit about
this being yee yeah. I'm like, come onn bro.
Speaker 4 (28:23):
Trying trying to run for governor in Florida.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
I don't know what the hell I saw. He's like
I saw he said like two years ago. When I
saw of Treat the trailer for this, I knew exactly
what this is gonna be. And I'm like, what does
that mean? So a black protagonist, female protagonist, He's gonna it's.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
Gonna be girl power, woke thee. I'm like, you're black, bro,
what are you doing well?
Speaker 2 (28:46):
And it's not doing well because like first of all,
this is Xbox Game Pass game. Secondly, like it's a trip,
it's a double A title, so they don't really do
well anyway. And then you got these dickheads just trash
in the game for no reason.
Speaker 1 (29:01):
Well, I will say, because I don't venture into the comments,
because I'm smart. I've heard I just posted. I just
posted that. Yeah, I've heard nothing, but I've heard nothing
but positive things about this game, So it's good. It's
a good game.
Speaker 2 (29:17):
Again, Like the gameplay is tried and true, just platforming
in like arena combat. The combat looks cool, but it's like.
Speaker 3 (29:27):
Right, like you get you get a bunch of like
you get a bunch of abilities that are pretty much useless,
Like you don't you don't like, oh, here's the thing
where I can entangleble enemies and keep us it, but
you don't really need it. Like as long as you
can as long as you can hit the X button
three times, you're pretty much good for the majority of
(29:48):
regular fights. And then some of the boss fights you
have to you know, press like two extra buttons before
you before you press the X button three to four times.
So yeah, it's it's very much it's very much of
you know my first three sixty game, you know what
I mean. Yeah, but but you but, like you said,
(30:10):
the presentation and you know, with stuff like that, presentation
goes a long way. Not ever, not every game is
gonna you know, not every game is gonna rewrite the
rule book on how to how to do things right.
Like as much as I love those Naughty Dog games, right, like,
(30:30):
they're all they're all style and very little substance, right,
And to be frank, like, most games are like that.
It's just that most games, when they are like that,
they're like something that is so perfect that you can't
(30:54):
like that's why Tetris is still played right, because that's
just falling squares. But but the gameplay is so pitch
perfect that that it doesn't need any iteration.
Speaker 4 (31:07):
And you know, you give uh, I guess that's the thing.
Speaker 3 (31:12):
It's not bad gameplay, it's just it's it's just it's
it gets you. Yeah, it's media. It's cremulent. It gets you.
It gets you from from point A to point B.
And and I'm looking forward. I want you. I looked
up how many chapters there are and I'm almost yeah,
I'm almost halfway through, and I'm looking I'm looking forward
(31:35):
to uh, I'm looking forward to finishing it because, like
Tarrence said, these stories are kind of dark man like
like and and yeah, it's about it's about trauma, and
it's about like like poor working class people and things
that go on in their life which like caused this
(31:59):
trauma and and what to do to kind of exercise
these demons that people have. And you know it's it's
good man, it's good if you, if you look, if
you and this has come from me, mister, you know
fast food gaming like you know news Latest Best, right,
(32:21):
like go Bigger, Go Home. If this game don't cost
more than a Marvel movie, I'm not playing it, right, Like,
this is coming from MEO, so I would say give this.
I would say give this a chance. It's what that
uh that Tales of.
Speaker 4 (32:39):
Tales of.
Speaker 3 (32:41):
Gonzara Zoo Like it's a game that is a metro
style like May's action game. It's not it's pretty good, right,
it's not bad, but it's not rewriting the rule book,
but it had but it had an incredibly thoughtful story.
(33:02):
And again a story that is that stars black people,
but it's universal if you have a father, right, and
everybody everybody alive has a father.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
So whether or not he's in your life or not,
you know, right.
Speaker 3 (33:21):
You know it could be. It's a fantasy, guys, it's
a fantasy. Oh and and look, this story in South
of Midnight is about a child trying to rescue their mother.
Everybody got a mother, so, uh.
Speaker 4 (33:39):
You know, it's.
Speaker 1 (33:42):
Interesting.
Speaker 2 (33:42):
Like I saw something one person said like, well, if
I wanted to, if I wanted to watch the story.
Speaker 1 (33:47):
I'd watch a movie or something like that. I just
watched a movie or read a book. And I'm like,
so you're just making Yeah you are, because like that's
literally like fucking half of the Triple A games that are.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
Out there, Like you're making excuse it again because you
don't want to play a black man, that's fine.
Speaker 1 (34:01):
And then I and then I asked him, this is
the last thing I'll say about this.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
I asked him, do you remember what EA's mission an
original mission statement was back in the eighties, either one
of you don't know. Their mission statement was comput can
computers make you cry?
Speaker 1 (34:19):
Wow, that's what exactly. I'm in a different direction completely,
like computers make you the most money as they possibly can.
Speaker 2 (34:29):
But yeah, that was their original mission statement when the
guy that created EA Electronic Arts, He's like, can computers
make you cry?
Speaker 1 (34:35):
And I remember that from fucking twenty years ago. This game.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
There are certain parts of this game like you will
feel very I think it's chapter ten, like that shit's wild. Emotionally,
I can't say it's such a good story like you
feel like it makes you feel things, regardless.
Speaker 1 (34:53):
Of the gameplay being like mediocre. That's how good the
story is. And just just.
Speaker 2 (34:59):
Be because the protagonist. I can't I can't fucking I
can't relate. I can't relate to the protagonist. I'm not
a black girl like Nigga.
Speaker 3 (35:07):
I'm not a white man, right, I'm not a spice
marine eat right, I.
Speaker 2 (35:13):
Don't wear armor and shep fucking aliens all day. I
hate that shit. But yeah, it's a very good game.
If you haven't played it, if you have game Pass,
give it a try. If you can get past like
just the repetitive nature of the gameplay, there's a very
good story. It ends a little abruptly, which I wasn't
too fond of, but overall great story. I've also been
(35:36):
playing Nine Souls.
Speaker 1 (35:38):
Oh, oh interesting. Yeah, the game is hard. Yeah, I'm
not saying it seems like you would be up your alley.
So it's like a souls like two D side scrolling game.
It's fun.
Speaker 2 (35:49):
I'm having fun with it, and also playing light Year Frontier.
It's a like a cozy game. It's like a farm builder,
but you're in a mech and you're doing all this stuff.
Speaker 1 (36:00):
That's fun.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
I put like ten hoursands to that. I'm having fun
with that game. And I just started Stalker two. I
don't know, I don't I don't know if I'm gonna
continue with that game because the very first enemy I
thought was this invisible thing that almost killed me in
two hits within like five I'm like.
Speaker 1 (36:16):
The fuck is going on dude? That game from what
I understand though, all right, yo, And.
Speaker 2 (36:23):
It's one hundred and forty four gigs first of all,
so like it's taking up a lot of space exactly
on my on my system.
Speaker 1 (36:31):
But like I don't hate it, Like I'm kind of enjoying.
Speaker 2 (36:34):
Like I got into a firefight with actual humans and
they're also you know, they don't miss. That's another thing
that's kind of but I'm having I'm having some fun
with that.
Speaker 1 (36:43):
I'm playing a whole bunch of shit. I started like.
Speaker 2 (36:47):
Resonaval three, but yeah, but south of Midnight it was
the main game that I'm playing, and I'm planning on
beating nine Souls. And I downloaded another Crabs Treasure earlier
today because I want to check that game out.
Speaker 1 (37:00):
But a lot of shit. Cool, So more more impressions
to come from you, is what you're saying. Let me
let me know when you get to that final Boston
nine Sols. I heard some things, so I'm curious to
get your to get your thoughts. Uh, We're gonna take
one more break. We'll do the news and then the
post office. Just two new stories this week, and they're
(37:22):
and they're interlinked. And again we'll talk about this a
little bit more on Look Forward this week, so make
sure you check that out. But uh, we thought for
a split second that Nintendo might have been saved. So
we talked last week about the just mind numbingly stupid
tariffs that the US president put on basically every country
(37:45):
in the world last week. Late last week, they decided
to pull back on the quote unquote reciprocal tariffs that
they levied on countries that we have a trade deficit with. Uh,
there's still a ten percent tariff across the board for
everybody and China, because China keeps matching the Trump tariffs
(38:12):
with tariffs of their own on US exported goods or
goods that they born from. The US is now sitting
I think at one hundred and forty tariff rate right
now from goods coming in from China to the United States.
So a lot of people were like, man, like, sure
was stupid of those big tech CEOs to suck up
(38:33):
the Trump and get one hundred and forty five percent
tariff in return. And then apparently Trump said, oh, no, well,
actually I'm going to exclude cell phones and like mobile devices,
tablets and computers from that. And because we're waiting on
the switch too, a lot of people are like, oh,
that includes game consoles as well, right, and no it
(38:55):
doesn't actually, so so game consoles exact did from this
uh supposed exclusion on tariffs from PCs and mobile devices.
So Nintendo is still in a pickle. They still have
not announced the switch to pre order date for the
United States. The the smart money from a lot of
(39:20):
analysts seem to think that basically what they're going to
do is is every every switch to that's manufactured in Vietnam,
it's going to head to the US, and then all
the China manufacturer stuff will get distributed to the rest
of the world. That's not great news for the US
because I think the probably because the the manufacturing output
(39:44):
of Vietnam is not nearly the same as what they
can produce in China right now. But they also aren't
gonna ship, you know, a switch to from China into
the country with one hundred and forty five percent tariff
like that, like that, like that's just not going to happen.
They already have a bunch over here. We don't know
how many. But if you were worried that only the
(40:06):
US was dealing with these problems, think again, because Europe
and Australia and New Zealand are catching strays thanks to
the US trade war with China. Basically, Sony announced yesterday
that the price of the PlayStation five in Europe, the UK,
(40:29):
Australia and New Zealand is going up in price potentially,
like with the rumors that they're doing this to offset
the losses that they will take in North America because
they are too scared to raise the price of the
console in North America because Americans are gonna get would
(40:51):
get really pissed off. So they are basically using the
rest of the like Europe, UK, Australia, New Zealand to
subsidize the increased cost that they will have to suffer
thanks to Donald Trump and his tariffs that will impact
the PlayStation five. So we are now five almost five
years into PlayStation five and it has received two price
(41:13):
increases mikes right in Europe and Australia. Man, okay, that's
a lot. How much is it in Australia?
Speaker 2 (41:25):
Eighty nine dollars Australia the one with the yah.
Speaker 1 (41:29):
Whatever, Yeah they had, they have, they have a week.
They have a week dollar compared to.
Speaker 2 (41:32):
Ours for the blue one with the disk drive and
seven Australian Yeah, digital card.
Speaker 1 (41:40):
Now in in Europe. In the UK only the digital
version increase in price. They kept the version, they kept
the disk drive version the same. Australia and New Zealand
got it on both consoles. Basically, I mean, like I said,
not unbelievable. Unbelievable that we're the ones sucking up and
(42:04):
everyone else is gonna be the ones paying the price. Insane.
Speaker 3 (42:07):
I mean, that's that's it's the American way.
Speaker 1 (42:13):
We fucked everything up. But fucking yeah, you're you're you're
up in the UK and Australia sitting here.
Speaker 3 (42:17):
Like we did.
Speaker 1 (42:18):
We didn't fucking do any of this ship. And so
he's like, yeah, sorry, but we can't uh, we can't
possibly take a price hike in the US. Now that
being said, if these one hundred and forty five percent
terrors stick around for any like the time, I don't
see how they avoid taking the price of the console
up in the US. I feel like they're gonna have to.
Speaker 4 (42:36):
Yeah, well, I mean eventually, but y'all feel good about
not voting.
Speaker 1 (42:45):
I hate you, niggas. I hate sh'all. Like, I'm like,
that's I'm serious. I can't.
Speaker 2 (42:52):
Like, I hope everything bad happens to you. Like I'm
not supposed to feel that way. You're not supposed to
wish for people's downfall. But anybody to vote for Trump.
You didn't care about anybody else, so why should they
give a fuck about you? Pretty much like if you
I'm I'm gonna keep that one to myself.
Speaker 1 (43:08):
But like if you lose your farm, whatever, bro, no no, no, no, no, no.
Terrace the farmer, the farmers will get bailouts.
Speaker 2 (43:16):
No, they got bailoffs first time. I'm not fucking but
he don't. They don't care about them niggas no more.
Trump don't care about them anymore. You don't care about nobody.
And then I guarantee you they're not gonna give bailouts that.
Speaker 1 (43:26):
That actually would be really funny if they didn't do
it this time, because how much did they get in
last time? It was a lot? Oh, it basically it basical,
So like all the extra money that they collected from
China with with those terraffs basically got turned into into
farm bailouts. Essentially. I think it was somewhere along the
lines of like like a couple of hundred million dollars
(43:46):
or something like that. All right, that way, they it's
it literally weighed out all of the gains that they
got from the terriffs the last time around.
Speaker 2 (43:54):
A problem, he calls he had to fix it by
just throwing money at them because he fucked him their
whole industry.
Speaker 1 (43:58):
Yeah, and and the heed that zero, that's zero.
Speaker 2 (44:02):
They voted for him again. Yeah, what's wrong with your people? Yeah,
I can't answer this question.
Speaker 1 (44:10):
I don't know why didn't do this ship? It's in me.
I was telling everybody I could vote for the black lady.
Speaker 2 (44:18):
It's absolutely insane. Now everybody's suffering, Like, okay, all these
people like it's well, it's trash and I'm putting politics
into my games, all right, And y'all probably either didn't
vote or you voted for this dickhead. And now you
fucking PlayStation five is going to cost seven thousand dollars?
Speaker 3 (44:35):
Dude?
Speaker 1 (44:35):
What if? What if Nintendo raises the price on the
switch to everywhere not just the US?
Speaker 2 (44:40):
I mean, you know Nintendo, why not young but young.
Speaker 3 (44:47):
Nintendo also, like yeah, and you know some uh, you know,
some fucking scalpers will buy.
Speaker 1 (44:57):
It, right, that's already happening.
Speaker 2 (45:00):
That's already yeah, yeah, hey, hey, buy my pre order
eight hundred dollars.
Speaker 1 (45:10):
And I can't remember if we talked about it last week,
but like Canada also can't pre order because of US
right now, because like I said, they like these companies
create the North American market as one market because most
of the consoles that go to Canada come in through
the US anyway. So they're just like, yeah, you guys
can't preader either, like like till until we figured the
shit out.
Speaker 2 (45:28):
Just a switch gonna cost in Canada. They already they
already pay like twice as much, like nine hundred dollars
for a switch to in Canada.
Speaker 1 (45:37):
I think, I think when they announced it, it was
I want to say, it was like five fifty Canadian
maybe six. That's just a base, right, yeah, game No,
that's that's I think. I think that's just for the
base by itself. But if if they get it, I
mean again, like they still said the release date is
June fifth, So every every week that goes by is
(46:00):
a week before. We're just like, hey, what are you
guys doing. I don't know if they know, because again,
like like this ship changes on the daily basically, like
like we can't there's no consistency at all. Game Pass
ain't looking so bad no more is it now? Not
right now, it's boomerang back around to be in the
fire like one of the best values. Like it's kind
(46:20):
of slipping off, and now the games are actually coming out,
and now that consoles are about to increase in price
by you know, another twenty five percent. Yeah, it's looking
pretty good.
Speaker 3 (46:30):
Yeah, I'm on eBay and the Nintendo Switch to pre order.
The most expensive one I've seen so far is seven
hundred and fifty four dollars and five cents with a
seventy dollars seventy five cent delivery.
Speaker 1 (46:47):
Uh here's what I will say. Uh, this could also
be a big conspiracy by big PC. Again. PCs apparently
aren't going up in price. That never never been a
better time the game.
Speaker 3 (46:58):
Yeah, that's right, and and and and they're going up
because they call themselves the master race. And who thinks
who thinks of themselves that way? The people in charge.
Speaker 1 (47:11):
I was gonna make I was gonna make a Nazi joke,
but I thought better of it.
Speaker 2 (47:14):
So, all right, every and every every industry unless you
like going on like Chinese warehouse, TikTok or whatever they
tell they're basically telling you like, this is where you
can get this stuff, the same exact stuff you get.
Speaker 3 (47:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (47:31):
That that that's that's fucking wild to be like Chinese manufacturers,
just like nah, it's great. Yeah, Well again, I'm not
I'm not mad at it. I'm not bad at it.
You're gonna wait seven months to get your business. The
business community invited this unto themselves, So I have I
have no, uh, no sympathy.
Speaker 3 (47:49):
I saw some I saw some clip. You know, it's
it's a clip on the internet. Who knows if it's real.
But this Asian man claiming to be trying, he's uh,
was talking about like your little handbags and stuff, all
your little handbags, we make them and ship them over
Europe and then all they do is put the little
(48:11):
tag on them and and and put another tag that
says made in France to whatever, and then bam, it's
made in France. But nah, we make all those bags, y'all.
Speaker 1 (48:23):
Get yeah, I wouldn't be surprised. I mean, I wouldn't
be surprised. I mean the like people people are having
and holl about the US auto industry. Most people don't
realize that the US auto industry is just they put
the car together. Like everything else is manufacturing.
Speaker 3 (48:39):
Every car another country, you know, every part. The fuck's
like buying a model a model.
Speaker 1 (48:45):
Kit there, and and and that's the point that I
saw people. It's like people were worried about protecting the
US adustry. There is no US auto industry like like
like like the like there's there's the US auto assembly industry,
but we're not manufacturing cars, So some people people get
an education. Now people people finding out decide to touch
(49:06):
the stove.
Speaker 3 (49:07):
Well, they're not finding out fast enough.
Speaker 1 (49:09):
Man, No, they're really not. They're really not. I mean
I know it. So like in my business, like where
I work, we we deal with China a lot as well,
and typically like whenever we have like price increases or
like terrifts and stuff like that, we try to bake
it into the price of the good, especially around this
(49:29):
time of year. And I'm like, I'm getting ready to
come back to vacation and be like, let's put a
terrifying on the receipt guys. Like that way we can
roll it back if we need to. But also just
make sure people understand where this section boss is coming from.
So certain companies are actually doing it. Yeah, they're like, yeah,
we're putting a Trump terriffion. They called it the Trump tax. Good, Like, sorry, guys, this.
Speaker 3 (49:49):
Is how much. Here's the included gratuity.
Speaker 1 (49:54):
Hey, he likes uh, he likes putting his name on
financial documents, so take and taking credit for things. So sure, absolutely,
Oh well, it's everything sucks.
Speaker 3 (50:06):
You know.
Speaker 1 (50:06):
What we like to do. We like to answer questions
from our listeners. Uh that you can ask us by
joining our discord Dence books dot Com, slash fans and
going to the post office. So we'll answer questions like
from Johnny who says happily WrestleMania week. Do you think
the Ladies triple threat match Eo Bianca bell Aaron Rhea
will be better than the men's seth Rollin Sea and
Punk and Roman rains. Something tells me the gals will
(50:27):
tear the house down. Like I said, either last week
or two weeks ago, this WrestleMania the build, Ain't it
like I have? I have not been less excited for
WrestleMania that I can recall.
Speaker 3 (50:42):
It's Sunday, guys, I know Saturday.
Speaker 1 (50:45):
It's Saturday.
Speaker 3 (50:47):
Yeah, Saturday.
Speaker 1 (50:48):
Yeah. Is it two nights again? It's two nights again.
They're never never right? Is this one? Is that the
Ladies triple threat? Does this?
Speaker 2 (50:58):
Triple does this? Triple threat? Punk and Roman triple threat?
There's a like Randy Orton was supposed to be wrestling.
Speaker 1 (51:05):
Well, let's I'll tell I'll tell you what, Terrence. Let's
pull up the WrestleMania forty one card as we speak.
We'll go through all the matches real fast?
Speaker 3 (51:13):
Uh is Cody.
Speaker 1 (51:17):
Yeat Man and here we go, Here we go, here
we go. All right, So night one and this is
what's been announced so far. So you got the war
Raiders versus the New Day tag team title match? Uh?
You got why is that? Why is that the rest?
Why is that the WrestleMania match? But the was it?
The Street Profits and whoever you have? We can only
(51:39):
have one black tag team on the main card, Terrence whoever?
On Friday, though, probably that's going to be a better match.
Why is that pretty good? Where is no?
Speaker 2 (51:53):
No, no, The Motor City Machine Guns versus the Street
Profits is going to be a better match.
Speaker 1 (51:58):
That should be the WrestleMania Tag team match. But okay,
Raymonsterio versus El Grande and Ericano Gable. Well, we don't
know that, we don't We don't know that for sure.
I don't know that it is.
Speaker 3 (52:12):
Vince is a Prince mcman ass story. This is a
Vince McMahon ass story and a WrestleMania match, hopefully because hopefully,
because you know, they're trying to throw Latin the Latin
folks of bone like they did in the Royal Rumble
where they had those four dudes gang up on Chad
(52:34):
Gable right in that spot. I'm hoping that this is
what this is, because it will be a real bad
look if now they have Grand Americano go over against
one of the most famous Luca Doors in modern wrestling.
Speaker 1 (52:53):
Uh, you got Jade Cargill versus Naomi which should be
a slavery knocker as it's gonna be a probably gound
be a bit of a squash match. I would imagine
they don't buried Naomi like that. But Uh, anyway, Ellie
Knight defending the US title against Jacob Fatu Crown Jacob
(53:16):
Fatu Probably. I like Jacob Fattu a lot. I like Uh,
Timoty Stratton versus Charlotte Flair. Will worry about this one.
This is either going to be really good or a
dumpster fire. Yeah, there's gonna be one of the I
don't think it's gonna be in between.
Speaker 3 (53:31):
Look, I'm at the point in my life where I
am too old to get excited for cringe. I just can't.
Like everybody was like everybody was going gaga over the
the the promo that they had.
Speaker 1 (53:46):
Oh, I don't know that everyone's going gaga over it.
Speaker 3 (53:48):
I think, well, for some reason, people kept talking about
that ship and I just could not stand it. I I,
this isn't bathroom break match. I don't.
Speaker 1 (53:56):
I don't think people were talking about it because it
was good. I think they were talking about they went
off the rails.
Speaker 3 (54:01):
Yeah that's the and look, I don't that's what I'm saying.
I am too old to get off on on on
them going off script like that, and just like because
it was Crain, it was, it was it's I don't.
Speaker 1 (54:15):
Like Shretton's voice.
Speaker 4 (54:16):
First, I don't like.
Speaker 3 (54:17):
I don't like neither one of them at this point,
I like neither one of them.
Speaker 4 (54:19):
I used to like Charlotte Flair a lot.
Speaker 3 (54:21):
I don't know who this lady is. I don't know
who she Carmela Carmela is, but this ain't this ain't it?
Speaker 1 (54:32):
Like she completely looked different. I'm like, all right, your
nose was slightly large.
Speaker 3 (54:37):
This is gonna be the worst match on Night one.
Speaker 1 (54:40):
I guarantee you uh Uther versus jay Us.
Speaker 4 (54:45):
Look, I'm a certified so hater.
Speaker 1 (54:46):
Guys.
Speaker 3 (54:47):
I hate I hate him, I hate him, and I
hope gun I hope Gunther beasts the dog ship out
of him. I don't want jay us to win.
Speaker 4 (54:58):
I really don't.
Speaker 2 (55:00):
You know, last years wrestle Mania, they had the worst
match in WrestleMania last year was against each other.
Speaker 1 (55:07):
That shit was fucking terrible.
Speaker 2 (55:09):
And like, I haven't I haven't seen a good Jay
Usso match in a year.
Speaker 1 (55:14):
And then uh, the aforementioned men's triple threat Roman Cempunk
Seth Rollins, which I think will be more of a
story match than a Yeah, but.
Speaker 2 (55:22):
Story for this is better than I think the match
is going to be. But then again, like Seth Robins
is a fucking an amazing performer. Uh, sometimes Roman reigns
is it's it's more of how he does things and
what he does. And see him Punk, you know, and
Nigga's forty five years old. He's getting up there in age. Yeah,
so he's uh forty six, So he's kind of like
(55:46):
in the best ship I've ever seen him in honestly,
but you know, he's.
Speaker 1 (55:50):
A little slower on the on the draw as I
like seeing Punk.
Speaker 4 (55:56):
I hate to be I take him, leave him.
Speaker 3 (55:58):
He's fine. I hate to be a dick though it's
not a main event.
Speaker 1 (56:02):
Guys, No, probably it probably it probably yeah, it probably
it probably should have been and j SO title or
or the women's stribble threat frankly could have been that
could have been that match as well. But anyway, Night
two Live Morgan and rock Hill Rodriguez versus Bailey and
Liar Valkyria Live. Rocury is someone that continental. Yeah, she's
(56:24):
about to be. She might be a double chef by
the time. By again, they don't know what to do
with the women in no sometimes they're they're they're definitely
in a down stretch right now. AJ Styles drew the
logan Paul Straw. That's probably probably.
Speaker 4 (56:41):
No doubt.
Speaker 1 (56:42):
But I'm I'm sad they're gonna make aj Styles job
to that dude. But anyway, I do what what could
be stealthily the show Steeler for the entire event, uh
bron Breaker defending the i C title against Penta, finnballt
Or and Dominic Mysterio. Who who who I think is
(57:03):
gonna walk away victorious? I think I think they're about
to put the shine on Dominant Stereo. Yo's no way,
I bet me, I bet you championship match the war
Coorse Championship.
Speaker 3 (57:20):
Look, I don't hate I don't hate Don He's a
perfectly fine w W E wrestler. I don't think it
will be Dominic. I think it'll be mhm, Baylor repent.
Speaker 2 (57:34):
Yeah, I think it'll be Do you think they get
they take it off of Bron Yeah.
Speaker 1 (57:39):
I think this is how you do it because he
doesn't have to he doesn't have to be in.
Speaker 3 (57:44):
This is the perfect time to take it off of him.
Speaker 2 (57:47):
And isn't there a stat that what's his name Finn
Balor has won like three matches in five years?
Speaker 1 (57:55):
I think he won one match last calendar year on
TV yeah or something something something stupid like that are
singles match singles batch because he was a tag team
champion tag team but like singles he hasn't won.
Speaker 2 (58:07):
He's won like one match in like the last four
years singles. It's like like he was the first Universal Champion,
wasn't he for like the day but he was still
the universal He was the Universal Champion.
Speaker 1 (58:21):
Yes, my heart.
Speaker 4 (58:23):
Says my heart says Finn Balor.
Speaker 3 (58:25):
But I wouldn't be surprised if Brad is right and
there's some because you got to like factor story into it,
right and you know you need you need to break
up goth jocks and the easiest way to break up
Goth jocks is to have dominant go over on Panta.
(58:47):
But you know, with some shenanigans about like hey finn
Is like hey Dominic, you know you gotta look out
for me. I gotta win this, and some shenanigans happened
or some ship I don't.
Speaker 1 (58:58):
Know, somewhere in here, we're probably getting Randy Orton versus Solo.
So that's that's what they were teasing, at least on
TV on Friday. Look, I mean think I get it,
Like they want to get Randy Orton on the card.
Solsc need something. Did he Did he ever get his
revenge for him like putting him on the shelf? No,
because Kevin Owens had had to have a neck surgery,
so he's like he's like out.
Speaker 2 (59:17):
Out no, I'm talking about like because the reason why
Randy Orveren was out for so long is because.
Speaker 1 (59:22):
Like, oh yes, I do believe that that that that
piece of it was taken care of. I think it was.
I think so, I don't I don't remember who knows whatever.
Damien Priest versus Drew McIntyre, which is another one of
these like hey, we need something for these guys to do,
so let's just kind of throw. I'm sure it'll be fun.
It's a street fight, so like I'm sure, I'm sure
(59:43):
it'll be a good time. Uh, the Women's triple threat
EO Bianca bell Air and Rea Ripley.
Speaker 2 (59:49):
Honestly, this is probably going to be a good match,
but like I would rather it have been Bianca Ineo
because they taw the house down and.
Speaker 1 (59:56):
Put I agree, but I think that the room is
potentially there for a Bianca heel turn, and I think
if you're going to do that, then this is if
you can do it in this match, and that would
be an effective way to do it. And then finally,
Cody Rose versus John Cena a match that should have
that should feel electric, and for me, it just kind
of feels like a damp squib going into it, which
(01:00:18):
is sad. So huh, John went logic would dictate yes,
just to get the record, but I don't know WrestleMania,
I don't know, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:00:37):
I'm pumping for John Cena kinda kind of tied of
Cody Rhodes and his like overly polished like.
Speaker 2 (01:00:46):
His Tody Rhodes is a great fucking promo, Like I
like his I like this promo with the Belts on
Friday m promo like he's a super baby face, Like
I get it.
Speaker 5 (01:00:59):
Yeah, I just one job because I'm old, and I mean,
I mean it would be cool to see him get
that record and then we can what we can listen
to Rick fir Flair cry about it for you know, months,
months on end afterwards.
Speaker 3 (01:01:11):
So yeah, I think they I think they needed to
reshuffle the matches in the days because, uh, ninety two
looks like the only night worth watching.
Speaker 1 (01:01:22):
I don't disagree. N Night two definitely looks stronger than
N one for sure. It sucks compared to last years. Yeah,
this is this is like the stock dropping, the stock
market crashing of compared to last year. God damn. I
mean that's what happens when you get Trump is president again,
(01:01:43):
you get.
Speaker 3 (01:01:47):
So yeah, you know, this looks like it was made
by a.
Speaker 6 (01:01:52):
One yo All no, no bullshit, A one has to
do everything they can become a w W sponsor right now.
Speaker 1 (01:02:06):
But that's gotta happen, right I would.
Speaker 2 (01:02:10):
I positive that she's worked. She's about as bad as
her her husband on She.
Speaker 1 (01:02:16):
Probably already always has been just on the slide because
you didn't have to ever hear anything.
Speaker 2 (01:02:20):
From her behind the scenes. Yeah, taking it. Taking a
job you're not fucking qualified for at all.
Speaker 1 (01:02:25):
But whatever it sounds sounds about white. Uh, Skat says,
with game prices most likely increasing, which what price is
too much for you to pay for a game for
a series that you like? So seventy is too much
to pay? Huh that's how many games cost now, right?
That is? Yeah, I'm not paying seventy dollars for anything ever,
(01:02:49):
even even if it's your favorite game series.
Speaker 4 (01:02:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:02:53):
No, me and me and Michael will have a different answer.
Speaker 4 (01:02:57):
For standard edition, Standard edition.
Speaker 1 (01:02:59):
Standard edition. Yes, oh man, I tell I'll tell you
what if. And again, I'm not putting this out there
because I want EA to do it. I'm just just
for example, Like if mass Effect the next Mass Effect
looks legit and EA is like it's gonna be one
hundred dollars, I'm paying one hundred dollars, Like like, I don't,
(01:03:20):
I don't care, it's insane.
Speaker 3 (01:03:22):
I'll pay.
Speaker 1 (01:03:23):
I'm sorry. You guys are part of the I know
we are sweep we acknowledge this.
Speaker 3 (01:03:28):
I'll pay one twenty. I'll pay one twenty.
Speaker 1 (01:03:33):
Twenty for what.
Speaker 3 (01:03:35):
I'll pay one twenty for like, I'll pay a hundred
ft standard and I'll pay it depends on what I
get when I get that.
Speaker 2 (01:03:47):
Doesn't fucking include the one twenty it puts.
Speaker 1 (01:03:52):
I'm not I'm not tricked by DLC. Like, deal has
gotta be worth it for me to for me to
buy it? Yes, two games?
Speaker 3 (01:04:01):
Yeah, like yeah, but like, but what I've played Massive,
Mass Effect Trilogy, Ump Team times like it is. I
have gotten my money's worth out of each and every
one of those games. If it's if it's something I like,
I paid fifty dollars for this cheap ass toy. I
(01:04:23):
paid fifty dollars for it because I but I love it,
it's awesome, it's ten dollars too much.
Speaker 1 (01:04:30):
If if you love something that much, you might say
that it's priceless. And then can you really put a
cost on what you think? I can't. Are you talking about?
It's not a fucking material position. No, I can put
a price on that.
Speaker 3 (01:04:51):
Oh my god, I got you just want to remind
us we don't own these games, Terrence, I mean farness,
I mean speaking to you be soft, Like, what what
if it's the next quadruple A game that comes out,
like you don't think that's worth.
Speaker 1 (01:05:10):
That Kate scullon Bones the first, the first quadruple a game.
Speaker 2 (01:05:15):
Yeah, one hundred and twenty dollars for real?
Speaker 3 (01:05:21):
I would, yeahah yeah, I would.
Speaker 1 (01:05:23):
No statue with nothing, not again, It's got to be
a specific amail, like I'm not paying any game, he
said mass effect. Yeah, yeah, I would. I would, Yeah,
I would.
Speaker 3 (01:05:37):
I'm about to pay, Terrence, I'm about to pay one
hundred dollars to get a doctor du replica helmet. Yeah,
I would pay one hundred dollars.
Speaker 1 (01:05:44):
See a friend, a friend of mine, a friend of
mine that listens to the show, asked me if you
saw that helmet. I was like, he already owes a
doctor due helmet. What the fuck is he gonna do?
Speaker 3 (01:05:50):
I'm getting another one? About that, I'm getting another one?
Speaker 1 (01:05:55):
Well there, well, there you go. Randon. That answers your
questions is ludicrous. I'm sorry, that's insane. You know, Terrence,
I paid seventy dollars for Final Fantasy three back in
nineteen ninety four, which in today money is probably equivalent
to close to one hundred and twenty dollars.
Speaker 2 (01:06:17):
Yeah, but has they have like wages going up to
account for all the inflation.
Speaker 1 (01:06:22):
Mildly, not to the same level as in mildly. The
people that are selling you.
Speaker 2 (01:06:29):
That game can't afford it because it's seventy dollars. People
work in a game stop can't afford one hundred and
twenty dollars game.
Speaker 1 (01:06:38):
Yeah, exactly, go ahead, Well this will this will be
our last question, just because I've got a skidatl in
a second here e Jack asked what was the best
and worst face heel turn you have seen in a
video game. I believe that they mean face or heel turn,
not necessarily face, or they could mean face to heal.
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:06:59):
I think the most famous one is se Froth, right,
because he's originally I don't know how to pronounce words,
originally a super like he's like their Captain America, right,
like he's the super soldier, and he found out like, oh,
I'm a test few babies like I gotta I'm mad
(01:07:22):
at the world.
Speaker 1 (01:07:23):
Right.
Speaker 3 (01:07:24):
But the on the the oldest one that I can
think of is when you and your brother go out
to rescue your girlfriend from a gang of who Then
at the end she's like, man, this you you you
see this? You see all this, which one of y'all
(01:07:46):
want it, and now you turn on your brother.
Speaker 1 (01:07:49):
It's like fight for it, like damn, that's crazy. And
and and she gets fucking merked, like right at the
beginning of the next game, so they all for not.
Speaker 3 (01:08:01):
Going to relationship with your own brother. And then she's
just gone, what what What was the name of your
friend in the Infamous series?
Speaker 1 (01:08:14):
Was Zeke or something like that. I can't remember.
Speaker 4 (01:08:16):
He did, think it is.
Speaker 6 (01:08:19):
Man.
Speaker 1 (01:08:20):
Towards the end of the he kind of he kind
of turned heel because he was he was in his
feelings about you getting all this attention, and he wanted
to be somebody the classic screw you I mean, I mean,
I mean, honestly the most famous heel turn we were
talking about San Andreas earlier, wasn't it the Smoke?
Speaker 3 (01:08:38):
Yeah, Smoke and.
Speaker 1 (01:08:42):
Its Yeah. I replayed that recently.
Speaker 2 (01:08:45):
You kind of tell that pie from the beginning clip clip.
Speaker 1 (01:08:51):
What's the guy's name that plays that does his voice
and everything?
Speaker 3 (01:08:55):
Dame?
Speaker 2 (01:08:56):
What's his name?
Speaker 1 (01:08:58):
I can't remember anyway, I can't remember.
Speaker 2 (01:09:00):
What was that game that the military game that you played.
That that's a very good it tells a very good story.
Speck ops was big smoke, Yeah, speckp You thinking of.
Speaker 1 (01:09:15):
The line, Yeah, yeah, that's a that's a is that
is that really a heel turn? Though, because you didn't
realize like like sorry, sorry spoils speck ups fifteen year
old game, but like you don't realize.
Speaker 4 (01:09:25):
That, well, you're you're you're a commanding.
Speaker 3 (01:09:28):
Officer, right, screws you over right?
Speaker 1 (01:09:30):
No? No, like your character is that you you?
Speaker 2 (01:09:35):
If I'm correctly, it turns out you don't want to
like drop the fucking bomb.
Speaker 1 (01:09:39):
Yeah you you you committed the crimes against humanity. It
turns out, yeah, dropped the white phosphorus on right, But
but but you had but you had PTSD, So like
you don't like, is it is that truly a heel turn?
Or you know you murdered a whole bunch of people
just because like, look, that's that's that's unreliable narrator and drug.
Speaker 3 (01:10:03):
Some good ones.
Speaker 1 (01:10:03):
I think there's some good ones. I think what what
what's the best face turn. I'm trying to think of
the of the best bad guy. It's a good guy, Uh,
I have it, it's it certainly happened. I'm just trying
to think of what it is.
Speaker 3 (01:10:17):
I don't, I don't, I don't.
Speaker 1 (01:10:21):
I don't really know any face the heel turned. Oh,
heel face turns in the video game. The only one
that I'm thinking of is is a Day of from
Final Fantasy. But that's not a good one like that,
just you know that just happens. Yeah, she's just gonna
vegas megas is the best? Is the best heel to
face turn from crowd Trigger?
Speaker 3 (01:10:40):
Okay, well, yeah, let me see something, uh Alex Mercer No.
Speaker 1 (01:10:50):
Oh, by the way, by the way, by the way,
did you did you hear the rumor that there that
there apparently is a new prototype game in development?
Speaker 4 (01:10:58):
All right, Well, like the proto the prototype prototype.
Speaker 3 (01:11:03):
Is is the the USOS of video games. I hate.
Speaker 1 (01:11:12):
I wonder, I wonder which ethnicity they will go with
in this one, because, as Mike ha said, we had
prototype and then we had black prototype in.
Speaker 3 (01:11:22):
A prototype.
Speaker 1 (01:11:23):
Man, God, we got that.
Speaker 3 (01:11:27):
I'm looking at a list, someone says Mario because he
was Donkey Kong's jailer in Donkey Kong Junior.
Speaker 2 (01:11:39):
I'm not gonna listen to I have not played any
of the games, so I couldn't even tell you.
Speaker 1 (01:11:44):
Yeah, I'm trying to like like, uh, you know baby Metroid.
Perhaps good uh heel to face super Metroc Super Metroc
oh like like he like he starts out, you know,
attacking Samus and then realizes who she is and comes
to her rescue against mother Brain.
Speaker 3 (01:12:07):
Let me see, let me see, let me see. Well,
I was looking at one from Assassin's Creed. Okay, there
was there's Assassin's Creed has both. Assassin's Creed has one
where where you are an Assassin's Creed rogue you are, Yeah,
(01:12:28):
you're an assassin that joins the assassin that turns Yeah,
that turns into what joins the Templars. But isn't there
one that had the templar becoming an assassin?
Speaker 1 (01:12:41):
Wasn't that wasn't that black Flag? It might have been.
Speaker 3 (01:12:46):
Yeah, I don't know, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:12:49):
