Speaker 1 (00:05):
Hello, this is Mars and Gold and depeche Mode. All right,
this is Diegone from depeche Mode, and you are listening
to my hero and it's depeche Mode the podcast. I'm
your host, John Justice, letting you know that. Kind of
taking a week off this week. My youngest Kyle is
graduating from high school this weekend. We have in laws
that are coming into town. Time as short and life
(00:28):
is busy, so I didn't want to not put something
at all out this week, especially considering that we just
went past the third year anniversary since the loss of
Andrew Fletcher. Saw a lot of fantastic tributes being posted online,
(00:49):
and I wanted to just take a moment to reflect
upon the loss of this founding member of the band
and how unfortunate it was that he was not able
to hear any of what turned out to be this
masterpiece in Memento Maury and the success and the tour
that followed afterwards. His presence was certainly missed, but proper
(01:16):
tributes during the tour certainly certainly took place. So I
wanted to take a moment and acknowledge the three years
since the losing of Andy Fletcher, and it's even more
bittersweet for me. For those long listeners of the show,
you'll know that that same year, about a month later,
incredibly unexpectedly, I lost my best friend passed away. Also
(01:40):
was the co host on the show that I now
host solo, Drew Drew Lee. So I'm coming up on
that anniversary as well. So hopefully heading into next week,
there will be another full episode, looking forward to hearing
the reviews of the Depeche Mode film m as it
debuts at the Tribeca Film Festival I believe coming up
the fifth if I'm getting my dates correct, and hopefully
(02:04):
we'll be talking with Rob Brahm from the Global Depeche
Mode Fangroup, as he will be traveling to New York
City to check out the film and we'll hear his reviews.
So again, just an incredibly short episode this week, taking
a bit of a break from the full FLEDH podcast.
Have a lot of emails that came in and I'm
looking forward to sharing with you next week on the show,
and feel free to write in Talk show Nerd at
(02:27):
gmail dot com if you want to add anything to
next week's show. And all the emails that have rolled
in based off of last week's episode. I'll be sure
to be sharing those and my comments on next week's show.
So with that, I need to get back to house
cleaning in preparation of family arriving and the celebration around
(02:51):
my son's graduation. So I'll talk to you guys again
next week if you want to, email me talkshow Nerd
at gmail dot com. And I hope things are going
well for you and wherever you are, you're happy, you're healthy,
and you're safe. And I'll talk to you guys again
next week. By
