ROLANDO VELASQUEZ (1913-1972). Fue prosista salvadoreño santaneco. Escritor de cronica periodistica, cuento, biografia, ensayo y novela. En el cuento "La historia del Bufón Escarlata" (1942), crea un personaje humoristico, por medio del cual realiza punzantes criticas sociales.
Sus obras publicadas son: Carácter, fisionomia y acciones del General Manuel José Arce (1949); Entre la selva de neón (1956); algunos de sus ensayos: Retorno de Elsinor (1949), Reflexiones de un hombre arrodillado (1957).
