Speaker 1 (00:15):
Hey, everybody, welcome to today's show. Welcome to Disabled Reality.
I'm your host Anson to Duke, and we have a
very important topic for today's show, in which it is
landlords I'm talking about.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
In New York City, missus Basher. Let me start.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
In New York City, landlords are legally required to keep
common areas, including hallways, clean and safe. So let's get
right into this. So again, in New York City, under
the New York City Housing Maintenance Code, landlords must maintain
(00:56):
shared spaces like hallways, farewells, and lobbies and a clean
and hazard free condition. Okay, this means all hallways, including stairwells,
must remain clean and safe. This includes sweeping and mopping.
(01:23):
This duty is reinforced by the Multiple Dwelling Law and
the Warranty of Habilability, which guarantee tenants access to safe
and livable environments. What does this mean for hallways? Regular cleaning, sweeping, mopping,
(01:45):
trash remmvual is expected.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
And as pest.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Control, lighting and safety features. Now, failure to clean can
be reported to the New New York City's uh HPD,
which is New York City's Housing Preservation and Development and
may result in fines or legal action. Now, why am
(02:13):
I bringing this topic up, because and I'm not saying
all landlords are bad, No, there are some that are good,
but unfortunately as well, there's uh some bad ones as well.
And then there's a lot of people that say, well,
it's sweeping and mop being I mean, it's it's not
(02:34):
a major thing, beloney. Yes it is because with the
more dirt and filth and stuff like that, is makes
things hazardous and you're breathing in all that all that
dirt and every thing, okay, which creates people to get
(02:55):
sick at times and stuff like that and so on
and so forth, especially for people who breathing problems already. Okay,
and it's also bad if you have animals as well,
they breathe in all that stuff too. So anyways, but
like I said, it's also a safety issue as well. Now,
(03:19):
because what does that mean. Well, if there's dirt and
stuff like that, you don't know what's in the dirt
all the time, and somebody could step on something and
get hurt stuff like that, so you never know. So
it's important to keep things neat and clean and safe
at all times. And this means sweeping and mopping and
(03:43):
vacuum because it depending upon how the hallway is because
sometimes some hallways and stuff there's carpets, so it all
has to be kept clean and safe and stuff like that.
And also when I see sweeping as well, because there
are some morons out there who just say, well, I'll
(04:09):
just mop and I'll use bleach. That is the most
dumbest thing in the entire world. Why is do I
say that? Because if you just mop and not sweep
before a nd, you're just throwing the dirt around. Seriously,
you're not cleaning, You're just throwing the dirt around. And
(04:31):
only dumb morons out there, and there are tons of
people out there. There are dumb morons that just mop
and don't sweep, but don't sweep first because they're too stupid.
They don't think, they don't use their brains. So with
(04:53):
that being said, sweep first and then mop afterwards. That
called the proper way of doing things. Sweep first, then
mop afterwards. Correct way of doing things. So now with
(05:23):
all this being said, you know there's elections in New
York City that's really right around the corner November fourth.
What does that mean? Well, this time around uh, New
York Is are gonna in New York City are going
to be bought in for a new mayor. And what
(05:44):
does that mean. Well, one of the candidates, uh Zorn Mamdani,
plans to use money that uh landlords didn't paying fines. Okay,
(06:05):
so if landlords have fines that you didn't that they
didn't pay yet, well he's gonna go after it. He's
gonna go after it. And that also means in turn
that if HBD didn't do their jobs, he's gonna go
after them as well. So because that goes hand in hand.
(06:26):
That goes hand in hand because that money h Zora
and Mandani is planning to use to improve the city
and stuff. So that's if he becomes mayor. And so
with that being said, if he does, well, landlord's better
(06:48):
get on this. They'd better get on it. And if
they hired people to clean their hallways, well they better
get on them because otherwise those in space up there's
gonna be coming around.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
They're gonna be coming around. And so that's that's really
about it. On that So.
Speaker 1 (07:17):

there by my website Advocate Information Highway. The link to

and I did improve the website. I changed things around
