(00:47):
with a necessary links for those inthe box below in the description, I
am getting the odd question or messageor comment asking if I'm leaving YouTube,
and for a fact, I amnot leaving. I would never do that
to you guys, after the longroad that we've all taken together, the
wonderful journey. It's too much invested, too much great people that are in

(01:07):
contact with myself through the channel, and you know, I'd be silly to
walk away from such a great communitywithout further ado. As ever, please
do like, comment and share, and don't forget to hashtag team Fear.
With that said, let's get intotonight's story from David Holly, once again

(01:30):
exclusive to The dead Man Talking Channel, entitled Hostile Intent Crisis in the Kiamiches.
Let's get straight into that. TheKiamichi Mountains are a mountain range in

(01:55):
southeastern Oklahoma, sub range within thelarge or which a mountains that extend from
Oklahoma to western Arkansas. The KiaMitchie Mountains are ancient. By projecting the
existing mountains down to their subsurface roots, Geologists snow they once stood as tall
as a modern day Rocky Mountains, which are much younger. Its peaks,

(02:15):
which line up south of the KiaMitchie River, reached two thousand, five
hundred feet in elevation. Black bear, coyote, bobcat, deer, cougar,
minx, bats, bald eagles, hours, and roadrunners three hundred and
twenty eight vertebrate species and native tothis region. Other reported species have been
observed, but their existence as yetto be confirmed. When I was eighteen

(02:42):
years of age on a fishing campingtrip in southeastern Oklahoma, I was unfortunate
enough to encounter a creature which mainstreamscience said didn't exist. This non existent
creature destroyed a noninvasive camp and slaughteredmy parents, grandparents, and my father's
brother and family of five. Isurvived because I climbed the cedar tree and

(03:04):
remained quiet and I'm moving. Iwas sure the monster knew I was close,
for it continued to search the areain and around the campsite. I'll
tell you, boys and girls,I had a religious experience that day because
I prayed to God. I prayedhe would spare me, and he did.
The monster, and that's exactly whatit was, satisfied its bloodlust and

(03:25):
casually dragged my fourteen year old cousin, Blake's body into the woods, and
I assumed fed. I finally gatheredmy nerve and descended from the tree.
My father's forward IF one hundred pickuptruck was the only vehicle which hadn't been
damaged. I took the keys outof my father's pocket, climbed into the
pickup, and took off. Wehad driven nearly ten miles off the highway

(03:47):
to get to this spot. Myfolks had been told about by others who
would count there. It wasn't primitive, it was prehistoric primitive. There had
been nowhere to have a bow movementor urinate or other than in the trees
which were around our campsite. Theroads coming into the area were rough.
There was no pavement, not evenasphalt road, just gravel and sand.

(04:10):
It took me thirty minutes to getto the highway. I stopped at the
country store located at the intersection ofthe highway and the Highway to Hell.
I just drove over and borrowed atelephone to call the County Sheriff's office to
report, will report the murder ofmy entire family at the hands of a
giant, hairy monster. Even ateighteen, I knew the cops were going
to think I had some punk textsand team trying to jerk their chain.

(04:34):
So I said a really large blackbear had come into our camp and had
killed my family. I was toldnot to leave the store. Thirty minutes
later, a patrol car from themc curtain County Sheriff's Office to Fish and
Wildlife trucks and two state trooper vehicleswere at the store. In the distance,
I heard the sirens of at leasttwo ambulances, lights flashing coming towards

(04:56):
us. The reader's digest version goeson like this. I accompanied everyone to
the camp. Two more bodies werenow missing, and you could tell all
these heavily armed men and one femalewere nervous. I thought they were going
to puke a couple of times, especially after one of the Fish and Wildlife
stated the tracks here and his colleaguefound weren't bear tracks. But looked rather

(05:17):
human like, only a lot largerthan the kids. Thank god for size
eight and a half feet. Iwas a guest of the county for a
few days. Then Uncle Sam intervened. I wasn't a suspect. It just
wanted me available for questioning. Whilewalking around town. One morning, I
enlisted in the United States Marines.I hadn't discussed my plans with any of

(05:40):
the cops in Broken Bow. Itwouldn't have mattered. I was alone.
A local attorney was handling my folks, grandparents, and uncle's estates. I
needed something to occupy me. Ineeded training, discipline, you see,
good people. I was willing toenter military service and get the training I
need. You see, I knewa monster had killed my family, had

(06:00):
made me an orphan, and II was going to return when my enlistment
was up and hunt this monster,do what I had to do and kill
it. It was going to bea reckoning, and this monster was going
to pay for the deaths of myfamily. I've given you some background about
my case. I didn't tell youeverything my name, For instance, I

(06:24):
didn't mention whether or not so Iwere single or married. Didn't say anything
about whether or not I told mystory to others, or if I had,
was I laughed at or believed. For the record, my name is
Shane Nelson. I'm single. I'mhappy to say I have a college education.
I tried once to talk about whathappened to my family and about how

(06:44):
it affected me. But yes,the guys had tried to talking to simply
rolled their eyes and told me Iprobably saw either a super huge black bear
kill my family, So no,I stopped, Sharon. I'm six ft
two socks, I have short cutsandy brown hair. Due to being the
sole surviving member of the Nelson familyand being legally an adult, I inherited

(07:08):
everything, insurance, existing bank accountsfor parents, grandparents, my uncle and
his family, my grandparents farm, one thousand, one hundred acres, everything.
I saved most of my money frommy four year enlistment, so yeah,
I don't have to work for whatit's worth. I sold everything except
a few personal items. Intail isimportant if you're going to go to war,

(07:31):
buy a home or business, investmoney in business ventures, or plan
on hunting a creature which, accordingto experts doesn't exist. Well back ups,
I know they exist, but Ineeded more intel about them. So
after my discharge, I began tohaunt my local library for any books written
on the subject, watched nearly allof the documentaries, and even attended a

(07:55):
few conferences conducted by folks milking thepublic for what money they could get.
Some had decent speakers who rationalized andmade sense. Others well, I simply
wanted to debate. I had foundmyself at a conference in Hannobia, Oklahoma,
where a pacifist named Cook had thecrowd laughing about the ludicrous story of

(08:16):
an eighteen year old man who claimedto have seen his family massacred years ago
as he heard in a cedar tree, crying his eyes out like a little
baby. Why, he dryly commented, didn't this witness try to help his
family? The story was a lie. These animals were shy and non aggressive.
People who sought to kill him werethe true monsters. If I had

(08:37):
learned anything from four years of themilitary, it was to keep quiet,
watch and listen, and control youremotions. Someone should have told the young
woman sitting in the second row toremain quiet, someone but not me.
She stood up and simply told thisguy Cook, he didn't know what he

(08:58):
was talking about. She said, she knew the story he had been just
elaborated upon was true. She knewthe guy who survived, and it wasn't
a bear who killed his family.It wasn't a cougar. It wasn't even
Jack the ripple. It was atype of bigfoot known by the Choctaw as
a good way. The crowd booedher into silence. I made a silent
note to talk to her alone ifpossible. Although she had lied about knowing

(09:20):
me or my family, I didfeel some sense of appreciation for what she
tried to do. Her name wasValerie Franklin, and she was from a
small town in Texas near the TexasOklahoma border. To protect her privacy of
withheld the name of her hometown, she has family living there. Still,

(09:41):
I approached her. She sat outsidethe conference building, eating a bag of
potato chips and sipping a soda.I enjoyed your remarks. She looked up
at me, measuring me, tryingto determine if I was looking for a
hook up with a pretty girl.Thank you, she finally replied. Do
I know you? She asked?I know most of the true believers here,

(10:01):
but I don't think I know you. That's strange, I said,
consider when you spoke so wonderfully aboutknowing me and my entire family. Her
delicate hands stopped moving the chip toher mouth. Her beautiful brown eyes grew
wide. I'm Shane Nelson. Thankyou. I appreciate your attempt in trying
to protect my family's good name andmy reputation. Why'd you do it?

(10:24):
Miss ian Cook is a bastard. He always has something negative to say.
No one will ever challenge him,so I lied. I'm sorry, It's
okay. Really, I'm interested inwhat you said about this type of bigfoot
you called a good way? DidI pronounce it correctly? Yes? Can

(10:45):
you tell me more about them?Miss Franklin? Valerie Franklin? Can you?
Would you tell me more? You'regoing after it? Aren't you?
You're going to kill it? I'drather not say right now. You do
understand where there's one that will beothers? How will you know you killed
the one who killed your family?Simple? I'll kill all of them.

(11:05):
Can you help me? Are youcamping here or is this a one day
out in I'm prepared to stay.I have no pressing business anywhere. She
pushed her long brown hair away fromher face, put a pair of glasses
on, and began measuring me again. I have room in my tent,
and if i'd tell you anything moreabout the good way, I want to

(11:26):
come along with you when you goafter them. It was my time to
measure her up. I had knownand worked with several women during my time
in a service, all good soldiers. Some had made the ultimate sacrifice.
I didn't have a problem with workingwith a female, But did I have
the right to accept her terms andput her in harm's way? Well,
Nelson, do you accept or doI point you in another direction? And

(11:50):
I'd hate to see you armed. This is, after all, my operation.
I encountered one when I was ten, another at thirteen. I managed
to escape both times. Please letme help A hell for me trying to
convince anyone reading this that I stoodfirm and said no. I caved in
and accepted her, but I hada plan which I hoped would keep both

(12:11):
of us alive. They're called faceeaters. They're more aggressive and bigger than
your average bigfoot. They're dead andkill anything. The only time your average
bigfoot kills is when you kill oneof their own. Although I'm pretty sure
a Bigfoot might sometimes kill just becausethey're having a bad day, or just
because, like us, each iswide with their own personality. So how

(12:35):
you know you're killing the right monster? A white scar across his left cheek
runs maybe six to eight inches downward. I'll know him if I see him
less a big up boulder and morebad us. Good way he has already
killed him. That'd be hard forme to accept. I watched this creature
killed without mercy. We were justhaving a happy family vacation. They do
occasionally mingle with Bigfoot. The Bigfootapparently don't challenge their presence among them unless

(13:01):
they kill one of the big Foot. Vallery. I have a plan.
How do you like the water? Why do you ask? I have a
large barge. We'll launch from thelarge public state park and travel up the
lake until we reach the area wherethe river feeds into the lake. I
don't plan on camping on land.My barge is large enough to set a
four person tent up on the frontdeck. It's not a houseboke, but

(13:24):
it'll work. We'll move slowly upthe lake called blasting, at least that's
what I think it's called. Andwhen we get a response from the shore.
I'll drop two anchors, one forwardand one after to keep us in
position to get a look at whatwe call up. You should use woosung
if you're blasting from the water andthey can see the infrared. So I've

(13:45):
heard it's said we'll use ultra violet. Cats can see it, but primates
can't. I'm not trying to bethe devil's advocate here, Nelson, but
it's going to be cold out onthat water. How are we going to
stay warm? Gas power generator, electric heaters and Cook was a snoopy,

(14:05):
busybody who came off as a nononsense kind of guy who said what was
on his mind, and if youdidn't agree with his point of view,
you were an idiot. I sawhim later in the day visiting the folks
camping, who was safe and snugginside the high dollar RVs. Valerie didn't
own anything except a little tent shewas generously sharing with me. I sat
beside her camp fire sipping on acold beer when Cook decided to honor our

(14:28):
camp with a visit. We allknow the Ian cook type. Smart dresser,
nice clothes, perfect teeth. Yeah, we've an cook at some point
in our life. It walked upwith a clickboard in his hand, checking
a site number and who was camping. He nodded his cocky, no nonsense
head and stood there, looking atthe name on the clipboard and then looking
at me. I asked him finallyif there was a problem. He smiled,

(14:52):
and I had to suppress the earthto stand up and knock his perfect
teeth down his sarcastic throat. Yes, I have a Miss Valerie Franklin registered
for this spot, not Miss Franklinand companion. She will need to pay
us an additional twenty dollars for theothers in her party I paid to camp.
Nowhere does it say Miss Franklin andI can't share account site? Now?

(15:15):
I'm not sure what scam you thinkwe're buying into, but you're not
going to stand here and play campgroundpolice. You talk big, mister Nelson,
Shane Nelson. Why I don't believeI've ever met you, mister Nelson.
Valerie emerged from inside the tent andsmiled and cook, I'm surprised you
don't know Shane, after all,you bathed mouth him this morning before lunch.

(15:39):
Why, Valerie, my dear, this is the first time I've ever
met this gentleman, When did Iever say anything about him? I'm the
kid you made funnel and suggested Ididn't see my family killed by some kind
of monster. Well, well youcould see the blood drained from this sanctimonious
little pricks face. He began tostart trying to crawl out of either addressing

(16:02):
down in public or when his buckkicked by someone. He mocked. Now,
now we don't want any unpleasantries here. I'm sorry, mister Shane Nelson
Nimrod. My last name is Nelson, not Shane. Hell, you're so
damn full of self righteousness you don'teven listen when someone introduces you. Follow
his step between us, as Ihad risen out of my chair and had

(16:22):
it in my head to stomp amud hole in its little prick now I
want to make it a complete jackassout of yourself. What did you stop
by, fort Ian? We're takinga group out tonight doing some course,
see if we can get a bigfoot to respond. Wanted to see if
you were interested. I don't believe, so I'm sure y'all will have a

(16:44):
wonderful time. Though I was stillspitting mad, so I didn't say anything
else. He mumbled, have Kurtgoodbye, and I've ready left that campsite.
As the afternoon began its transition tonight, we build a fire a
little larger. Mid October, anyelevation can become rather chilly. We need
a supper, and were sitting backdrinking a cold beer. When I was

(17:04):
camping around us began to converge onour campsites. A few brought chairs and
some blankets. I looked at Valerie, who simply shrugged her shoulders. It
seemed good, old Ian. Ispread it around it. I was among
them who I was camped with, and our neighbors wanted to hear my story
for themselves. I sighed and toldmy story again. One young woman with

(17:29):
a youngster sitting in a lap, asked if I was going to go after
the monster, But she asked, how would I know which creature killed my
family? I tried once again toexplain how I did know, but as
I sat there, I knew theycouldn't or wouldn't comprehend what I was saying.
So finally I said it, ifI had to kill them all,
I'll do it and let God sortof out for me. A week later

(17:53):
and Valerie Franklin and I were storingour supplies and equipment on board of my
barge when Ian Cook showed up atthe dock. He had decided it was
his right to join my expedition toensure no innocent creature or creatures were harmed.
But I asked him had invited himto go with us. His response
was typical, No one had invitedhim. He was coming along to act

(18:15):
as an impartial observer, like hethought. I was stupid and didn't realize
it was going to be a painin the butt. Well, I had
plans for mister Ian Cook. Thebarge moved slowly through the water, and
from the first time I'd ever seenthis huge, beautiful lake, I knew
it was a deep, cold lake. I was in no particular hurry.
We kept the barge towards the middleof the lake, keeping to the deepest

(18:37):
channels. Cook must have brought dozensof rolls or thirty five millimeter film,
for he continued to walk around thebarge taking photographs. It was annoying,
you know, he said, aswe slipped into a deep, wide cove.
His mountains are really old, ancient, really why they were once as
tall as the rockies, do tellValley, we replied. She wasn't amused

(18:59):
by Cook some tempt at comaradwie.I dropped hankers and began helping Valerie set
our tent up on the forward deck. It would easily sleep three, maybe
even four persons, but Cook hadinvited himself and had already let him know
he could sleep on the bench seatbehind the steering wheel and in front of
the twin outboards. There was anowning over the back, but I helped
put a couple of the taps upon three sides to impromptu a bed.

(19:23):
I started our generator and we hadlights. Cook asked if he might have
one of the electric heaters to helphim knock the chill off. Did I
say, chill man? It wasdownright cold on that water. Even though
I didn't like the guy, Iwasn't a sadist. I gave him one
of the heaters. I even suppliedhim with an extra pillow and thermal blanket.

(19:45):
I had brought a two burner Colmanpropane cook stove, and Valerie set
about making her something to eat.She asked Cook what had brought to eats,
and he looked dumbfounded. He hadinvited himself along and had brought no
food. I told Valerie to givehim an MRI and he could have one
of those and a cup of coffeeeach mill. If he didn't like coffee,
well he could have a bottle ofwater. That first night and the

(20:07):
water, we heard a lot ofunusual sounds. Some I could identify,
some I couldn't. We were sittingaround the heater. I was leading cookies.
All of us had our coats on, and Valerie even had warm gloves.
Far back in the forest north ofus, we heard gunshots and an
ungodly raw Cook spun around and almostturned his couchair over. What was that,

(20:30):
he exclaimed Nelson, was that thebigfoot roaring. I admitted to him
that I had no idea as tothe nature of the creature which had roared
back in the woods. Valerie sippedher coffee and looked all around. She
asked if we could turn the overheadlights on the barge off. I feel
vulnerable sitting on the water with lightson. She laughed when she said it,
but I knew she was nervous anduncomfortable. Cook He continued to look

(20:55):
around and trying to make small talk. I remained quiet and listened. From
the time I'd watched that monster killmy entire family while I clutched the trunk
at that cedar tree. I hadbeen a light sleeper. I just didn't
sleep that well. Not that Ididn't try. It was just impossible for
me to not hear everything going onaround me. The vocalizations continued. It

(21:15):
was after ten thirteen. I sentValery inside the tent to sleep. Cook
had moved the heater near the benchseat, rolled up in his blankets,
and were sleeping. I've always beenamazed by people who could drop off to
sleep so quickly. I brought readingmaterial. I was reading about a guy
from northeast Texas who had had anencounter on this lake in May of nineteen

(21:36):
seventy one. He and a friendhad been fishing and on a camping trip
with his father, brother in law, an elder cousin. The researcher and
his body were about to graduate fromhigh school. The guy who wrote the
reports up said he in his body, A and C was stalked and pursued
by an eight foot or seven foottall bigfoot. Their encounter occurred near a
primitive camping spot called Holly Creek. This event curred forty years or so before

(22:00):
my family was killed in an areaonly a few miles north of this Holy
Creek area. The guy's story wasfascinating, I promised myself after I killed
the monster which offered me and anyof its friends also, I was going
to find this guy and buy hima beer. I switched my head lamp
off and listened to the water movingagainst my boat and the wind moving through

(22:21):
the trees. Then it dawned uponme that for over an hour and a
half, I had not heard asingle our hoots, quiet yelp, or
any other animal moving about in thecorpse. I had an NCO tell me,
when you don't hit any normal everyday or every night sounds, especially
animals, something's just not going togo right when it happens, listen to
your little voice. I eased myselfoff from my chair, moving slowly my

(22:45):
stomach. I moved slowly. Ourweapons were in a compartment under the front
deck. I carefully raised the compartmentdoor and off to reach inside and fill
around for one of my pistols. My hand closed around my colts nineteen eleven
forty five. I ezed it outand fed around into the chamber just as
I heard a movement from the shorewalking up to the edge of the north

(23:06):
side of the cove. I couldhear it breathing, and we were anchored
fifty yards away from the shoreline inany dire erection. The breathing continued and
I heard a loud splash in thewater just short of the barge, and
then another splash in the water. The third splash happened, and I knew
what was going on. Something bigand incredibly strong was firing large rocks at

(23:30):
the barge. At smaller rock finallyhit the barge. I stood up,
adjusted one of the spotlights mounted onthe barge and lit the north shore line
up like a Christmas tree. Standingon the shore was a creature that,
except for its colorization and sex, could have been the creature of Roger Patterson
had filmed in nineteen sixty seven, which all the experts called fake. This

(23:52):
creature was for real. I bellowedout and vallibly rolled out of her tent,
looking confused. Cook heard of bellowingand also top oh, this boy
was angry. I didn't like thespotlights. I told Cook to begin raising
the anchors. Once raised, Itold Valerie to start the engines and head
towards the middle of the lake.Cook shouted, kill it. That's what

(24:12):
you came for. Kill it.I turned facing him. I couldn't help
myself. I sneered at him. It's not the one I'm after. The
one I'm after doesn't look like thisone. Soon Valerie had a sound of
the rock range and shut off themotors. She looked at me and grinned.
Cook looked sullenly and wanted to saysomething, but I'm sure the look

(24:33):
on my face said enough. Thehuge bigfoot continued throwing rocks that they all
fell short. Well, now captaindrop anchors in another cove, or turn
our spotlights on and continue up thelake. Valerie asked. I took a
map of the lake outs and foundour position. I pointed to the Holy
Creek area and said that that waswhere I wanted to be by midday tomorrow.
Valerie asked, why you have ahero of a guy from Texas name

(24:56):
Dave Holly, bigfoot hunter in hisson have a research group called the Timberlin
Bigfoot Group. I've never met him. Why. Well, in nineteen seventy
one, he had an encounter witha creature very much like the one we
just encountered. My family was killeda few miles north of where he encountered
his monster. I think I understandwell, bus let's go Ian, You

(25:22):
get your beauty rests. We're headedfarther north. Black bear, coyote,
bobcat, dear cougar three hundred andtwenty five vertebrate species are native to this
region. Some say other more exoticcreatures called this region home. Also.
There was little sleep that first night. Rocks would be thrown, Howling and

(25:45):
bellowing broke the silence whenever it seemedwould get some genuine rests. Cook surprised
me by keeping quiet though through itall. I heard Valerie ask him once
if he regretted tagging along with thetwo of us. He said he wasn't
unhappy and certainly wasn't disappointed. Towarddawn, everything settled down. Cook was
sleeping, and Valerie had climbed backinside the tent. I alone watched the

(26:08):
sun rise in the east, bathingthe tops of the mountains surrounding the lake
in a beautiful, bright sunlight.A light fog hung over the lake.
I raised the anchors and slowly easedthe barge up lake. There was no
hurry, but I wanted to getto Holly Creek. For some reason,
I knew if I was going tofind a good way, this was the
area. Two hours into our slowcruise, Fallowie emerged from the tent and

(26:33):
began making strong black coffee. Shewoke up Cook and gave him a cup.
Told him she was going to scramblesome eggs and fry some bacon.
She asked him if he was hungry. He didn't surprise me when he said
yes, he was hungry, buthe was willing to eat another MRI if
there wasn't enough to go round.Fallowie assured him that after the episode we'd
all shared a few hours earlier,he was welcome to eat fresh food.

(26:56):
I followed them up closely. Bynoon, we could see I had to
be Holly Creek landing. A fewcampus were set up along a flat area
lying below a road running throughout thepark. I decided we'd land continued to
sleep on the barge, but perhapswalk along the shore to stretch our legs.
I gave specific instructions to Ian tokeep quiet about what we were doing.

(27:17):
No need to frighten folks who wereunaware of what exotic animals might be
prowling in a forest. I turnedin towards the gravel beach and turned off
the two outwards. Ian leapt offthe barge as it was nudge in the
shore and tied the barge to ahealthy looking oak tree. An attractive brunette
with long black hair and wearing aComera cap walked up and gave him a

(27:37):
hand. The woman wasn't alone,as two men joined her in helping secure
the heavy barge. Finally jumped offand walked over to the campus and began
a conversation. I joined her, introducing myself, thanks for your help.
That barge can be hard to holdsometimes. I'm Shane Nelson. My friends
Valerie Franklin and Ian Cook. Theold man and extended his hand and shook

(28:00):
hands James Fuller, my wife Ronda, and my good friend Rick Murphy.
Valerie grinned and Cooked developed a nervouscough. The woman Rhonda looked at him
and said, you should do somethingabout that cough. Then she slapped him
on the back and grinned. Rick. She smiled sweetly, bear dear,
and go to the van and getthat cough. Medicine. I brought along

(28:22):
the man she called Rick, salutedher and walked towards a red Ford cargo
van parked close by. Valerie andRonda got together and began talking so like
they'd known each other over the years. But hell, maybe they had.
Maybe they knew the Fuller's and theMurphy guy. Murphy returned and Ronda took
the bottle from him. I couldsee it was a bottle of Southern comfort.
Ian took a small drink and glaredat the three where Gil come from.

(28:45):
Fuller. We've been here since. She made an ars out of herself
at Hernobia. I he glass athis wife ran into Shane here after you
said the story about him watching hisfamily being killed by a big foot was
not true. I might have saidsome things which were taken out of context.
Taken out of context, my butt, said Murphy. I was sitting

(29:07):
there in the audience with my wifeSandy. I heard this young lady challenge
you. Valerie tilted her head abard and said, I don't remember seeing
you. I was sitting two rowsbehind you, and I saw him.
He motioned towards me, and althoughhe's older now, I remembered his picture
being and lots in the local papers, even on the cover of those papers
they sell in supermarkets. Stood farback in the crowd that nights when a

(29:30):
lot of folks found out who youwere. I listened to your story.
Returned home the next morning with Sandycalled the major and Ronda, and here
we are. I moved over tothe picnic table and sat down. Fuller
walked over and sat down beside me. His wife and Valerie walked off towards
their camp. Rick Murphy sat downon the other side of me. James
Fuller pushed his hat back. Afew years ago, Rick and I were

(29:55):
on a expedition right here in thisvery coumpground. The second night here we
began hearing some really angry roars comingfrom the deeper forests. Than the roars
became more aggressive sounding. Everyone inthe group we were with was armed,
nervous and armed. That's not agood combination. I said, no,
it's not. Then the rules stoppedand we heard screaming. We were under

(30:18):
attack. We thought we were dealingwith you every day, Bigfoot, but
we were wrong. The Choctaw calledthem face eaters. You know him now
as good way. I got knockeddown and was out for a fight.
Rick here covered me, shooting nonstop with his weapons and mine. He
stayed with me through it all.I believe you jarheads called it sympathy,
he smiled. How do you knowI was a jarhead? Takes one to

(30:41):
know one son. Rick and Ihave dealt with his creatures several times.
Ronda was with us the last time, he paused. I believe he was
thinking about his encounters. We'd liketo help you outside, Shane, if
you have us. That is Ianhad walked away when Fuller had begun talking.
Now he returned for the fire andVinegar. Did the great Bigfoot adventurer

(31:03):
tell you and his friends we weresuspected of killing everyone on that little outing?
Huh did he did? He tellyou? For almost a year,
the two of them were persons ofinterest, even though when the authorities arrived
there were no bodies. No onebelieved their story. They found redemption after
two years ago when there was anotherattack on another expedition, and here,
a rickey boy here managed to alertthe camp, but not before they lost

(31:26):
a member. No one is certainof a pack of wolves or a couple
of huge black beas then account forthat disaster. A cool voice said,
mister, you talk too much. There was no warning. Ronder full of
spun I and Cook around and slappedhis face so hard he dropped to the
cold october ground. She bent overhim and produced a free fifty seven magnum

(31:49):
Smith and Wesson and placed it onthe cook's chin. No one's out here
except USI, and you've been athorn in every legitimate researcher's side since you
were thirty. You know I couldkill you right here, and the general
consensuses I should. She hosted herweapon and stood up. The next time
I overhear you trying to cast aspersionson my husband's honor and ethics, I'll

(32:14):
blow you away. You understand thatgoes for mister Nelson's encounter and what happened
when Rick was trying to guide theother piece of crap mark Knight's expedition last
winter. Do you understand me?Cook Weekly said he understood, and Rounder
stood back up and looked at herhusband. Fuller said nothing, and told
me we should camp with them andwe'd work out a plan for the night.

(32:36):
Others say more exotic animals have beenreported in this region. Murphy as
set a four man tent up nextto the Fuller's van. Valerie, Ian
and I would share the tent withMurphy. Ian, of course, wasn't
happy with the accommodations. I didn'tcare. Valerie filled me in more fully

(32:57):
while we went for a walk laterin the afternoon. These people had fought
the Good Way and had survived.I'd be a fool not to have them
with me. Ian was going tobe a major problem. I made a
decision to ask Fuller to have Murphydrive him to her Nobia or whatever his
home was. We could remain hereand wait till Murphy or meet him farther
up the lake. There are nomore landings up the Lake Shane, she
protested. There's one probably not verypopular spots, and I'm sure no one's

(33:22):
camped there, the area where yourfamily died. Yeah, oh, I
knew. It didn't sit well withher, but she should have known.
This was where I had been headingall along. Locals referred to it as
Lost Souls Cove. No one campedthere. The road hadn't changed that much
over Bears. That night, Ilaid my plan out for Jim and Rhonda

(33:43):
Fuller Privately. We explained everything toRick, who was agreeable ian cook was
going home high on an ancient feedingground, three immense creatures tour into the
remains of a couple of wild hawks. They were cruel looking creatures with reddish
eyes. A fourth creature emerged fromthe timber and grounds. It was much
larger than the other three and older. It stood twelve feet tall and weighed

(34:07):
better than three quarters of a ton. The three feeding creatures growled angrily,
but gave way to the newcomer, for this was the dominant male. He
was an ugly brute, and hisfeatures made him appear to have a short,
thick snout, much like a bear. The long white scar that ran
the length of his left cheek wasa badge of honor for him. He
had received it when he surprised andfought an older Bigfoot years ago. The

(34:30):
bigfoots had been huge itself, butit was old and weakened from years of
rivalry between the Bigfoot and the Googway. Now the Googway, the original bigfoot
species, was making a comeback. The big Foot avoided them if possible,
Even a doglike creatures that walks asthe Googway and the Bigfoot gave way when
they came into their territory. Whenthey sought the flesh of the hairless ones.

(34:53):
They simply sought the hairless ones.Ignorance of territory claims they'd be attacked,
killed, and devoured. Scar AsShane Nelson would later refer to him,
knew where the hairless ones were.Four mouse and two she's. But
the Great Beast was one troubled, for he remembered the scent of one of
the mouse. The scent mingled wouldcedar, but the Great Beast could not

(35:16):
remember where or when the small, defenseless creature had escaped him. He growled
and looked around for any to challenge, taking his food and began to eat.
The next morning, Ronda Fuller explainedto Ian that he was leaving simple.
Ian obviously remembered her promise. Nowshe reminded him again, and then

(35:37):
told him how wise and smart hewould be not to report her overreaction of
the day before, as they werefive witnesses who would provide an alibi should
she be visited by the authorities.Ian got the message. While Murphy took
Ian wherever he called home. TheFullest joined Valerie and myself on the BArch.
I had told him the night beforeabout this guy Holly from northeast Texas,

(35:59):
who had had an encounter on theisland. Across from Holly, not
to be confused with a researcher Creek, Fuller nodded his head and pointed out
to the island. I wonder ifhis flag is still at the top,
Fuller commented. I didn't know aboutany flag, so Fuller told me the
rest of the story. It boggledthe mind. These two guys, which

(36:20):
had eluded a ticked off Bigfoot, had been the same age as myself when
my family had been killed. Wepassed the island and I blew an airhorn
out of respect. I told JimFuller when it was over, I was
going to find this guy and drinka beer with him from time to time.
We simply eased into a cove andsat. I admit I was getting
nervous. It had been years sinceI've been back. Fallerwie knew there were

(36:43):
three wooden crosses and three reefs offlowers in the barge's storage compartment. When
we got to the spot, Ihad my very intention of honoring my family.
I also hoped, no, that'snot right. I prayed for an
opportunity to kill the creature that mademe an orphan. I knew when the
barge rounded a bend in the lakeand on the western shoreline, I saw

(37:04):
the cedar tree I had hidden himin my mind's eye. I began to
relieve everything that happened that horrible day, Dear God. I clearly remembered my
mother screaming as she saw my unclegutted like a fish by some giant,
hair covered abomination. I saw thecreature break my mother's neck with a back
hand, my father and grandfather havingher heads crushed. I remember climbing as

(37:25):
high and as rapidly into the cedar, hoping I could blow out the screams
and the roars, the pleas forthe bastard to just go away. I
suppose they were all watching me slowlylose my composure, for I began to
cry. I collapsed into the seatand turned the key off, kidding the
motors and were just drifted. Ifelt small soft hand squeezed my own hands,

(37:47):
and felt the hug of Valerie Franklinas she tried to comfort me.
I raised my head and saw RhondaFuller and Jim Fuller looking at me,
not out of pity, not outof disgust, but looking at me with
compassion, understanding wonders. Stepped upin front of me, and she knelt
down and took my hands in hers. We're sorry for the loss of your
family's, Shane, truly. We'lldrop anchors here. We'll be called blasting

(38:12):
beat wood together if you want,or just simply wait, Shane. Jim
Fuller spoke up. I'm guessing now, I'm listening to a little voice in
my head that's telling me the creaturethat killed your entire family is still alive
somewhere in this forest in front ofus. It's watching us right now,
salivating, believing it's going to havea feast. But we're not going to

(38:34):
be a takeout meal for him orany other What are you carrying? A
remonton thirty out six on old schooledEnfield, British thirty A couple of twelve
gays shotguns, my nineteen eleven fortyfive and a forty five cow high point
for Valerie. The attack came whenlook. I know you don't want to
relive this marine, but this murdering, demonic beast is going to be a

(38:58):
creature of habit I really believe it'swatching us right now, if not him
in one of his troop he's partof. Shortly after one pm. Yeah,
I'm sure early afternoon, Jim,we're going to need abait Ronda.
I found out simply put it outthere. We knew Rick would be coming

(39:19):
in, but we didn't know whenRonda walked over to the control panel on
the barge and picked up my CBradio, she flipped it over to channel
three and began sending out a call. Jim Fuller was on his cell phone,
calling Rick's phone and surprisingly was answered. Ricker dropped he and off in
Smithville and was now on the highwayto and from Hell. Estimated time of
arrival was ten minutes. We putashore five minutes later. Valerie, as

(39:43):
nervous as I was, I'd neverhad any time for romance. Has My
entire reason for living was to destroythat which had destroyed all I loved and
adored. But over this short timeI was infatuated with this attractive woman who
wore glasses, drank beer, andseeing two steps ahead of me. I
wasn't in love, but I wantedto be if we survived. I was

(40:04):
daydreaming, and she was saying something. I'm sorry, val I got lost
in my thoughts. What were yousaying? I was saying, I like
you, Shane. I've been marriedand it didn't work out. I don't
know how you feel about me,but if we get out of this alive
and in one piece, I'd likeit if you would consider letting me be
your girl. I smiled and kissedher, and then we heard the roar

(40:28):
rick was running later than he thoughts, so I had Valerie bring the barge
close to the shore and I jumpedoff the barge with a thirty or six.
What I had n't told Fuller ismy ought six was loaded with armor
piercing rounds. I just needed atarget. I heard Valerie scream and both
Fuller and Valerie shouting to shoot. The good Way emerged from my left,
just about where he killed my grandmother. And yeah, he had a scar

(40:50):
on his left cheek and age hadnot diminished his speed. It was more
than twice my size. It wastruly a David and Goliath face off.
He fired her pistol into the waterto give me an opportunity to bring the
rifle up. I heard another screamcoming from behind me, and the crack
of a three away. Jim Fullerwas carrying Rounder's three fifty seven mag was
barking also. I got my firstshot off and saw Scar stumble backwards.

(41:15):
He recovered his balance and started forme again. I fired another round,
with the same results. All thetime it was advancing. I was retreating,
but not towards the boat. Butwhether consciously or subconsciously, I was
backing myself up against a tree anda monster straight out of Dance's Inferno was
still advancing. Slower now, butstill advancing, bearing his teeth opening and

(41:38):
closing his clawed hands. Two morerounds left in my rifle, just two.
Then I hoped the colt would helpme. I fired twice in rapid
succession towards its massive, horrible mouth. Both rounds hit true. It made
one last grab as it clawed towardsme. I heard a voice call my
name, and Rick Murphy tossed mehis shotgun, yelling to finish it.

(42:00):
Where the hell had he come from? A fired point black range into its
gaping jaws, it shuddered and stoppedmoving. I looked around. The two
good Way, who had joined inan attack, laid dead in the clearing.
I turned my head to see whattree I'd backed up against. You're
correct, it was the cedar.I pulled my red Dodge Ram into the

(42:22):
broken driveway and got out of thepickup. I told Valerie to get out
with me. I knocked on thefront door, and a guy with dark
brown hair with a lot of grayopened a door. He always made it
known he was sixty six, buthe didn't look it. Hi, can
I help y'all? My name won'tmean much to you. You've probably never
heard of me, but I'm ShaneNelson. Would you be Dave Holly?

(42:45):
The guy grinned I was this morning? What can I do for you,
mister Nelson? Dave? May Icall you Dave this? I put my
arm around Value's waist. It ismy wife and we'd like to why you
a baron? Tell you an amazingstory. M hm.
