even happening me too. We have to talk to these people.
Speaker 3 (34:46):
Well, apparently they like us so much that they, you know,
listen to this listen.
Speaker 6 (34:55):
This is throwing me for a loop here. All right, Well,
thanks guys, but U let's talk more about it after.
Speaker 3 (35:03):
Radio so apparently we're very well received in Poland and
we appreciate that and thank you and God bless you.
Speaker 6 (35:11):
Hey, the more reach we get, the better it is
for all these unsigned artists. And speaking of unsigned artists
and original bands.
Speaker 15 (35:17):
We have drive in the studio.
Speaker 5 (35:20):
Yeah, we've got John from the band Lucky Dangerous live.
Speaker 3 (35:23):
Hey, John, how you doing, brother?
Speaker 31 (35:25):
Just hanging out, hanging out, observing and enjoying your show.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
Oh, thank you, thank you very much.
Speaker 5 (35:31):
Well, thank you for coming down.
Speaker 6 (35:32):
And I know you're going to play a couple of
tunes for us tonight, but we want to start off
by having you introduce yourself to the listeners, maybe give
us a little background on how you're band formed and yeah,
just we'll take it from here, all right.
Speaker 4 (35:44):
Cool.
Speaker 31 (35:45):
So my name is John. I'm one and a half
of Lucky Dangerous. The backstory is pretty interesting.
Speaker 32 (35:52):
So my drummer.
Speaker 31 (35:53):
It's just me and a drummer and my friend who
I've known since I was seven years old.
Speaker 5 (35:59):
His name is Chris.
Speaker 32 (36:00):
His name is Chris.
Speaker 31 (36:01):
Yes, and we h we quite literally grew up playing
together like we were. We met about second grade in
second grade, and then fast forward a couple of years
and we're about ten years old. I remember going to
going to his house and it's like it was just
simply like, oh, I think I'm gonna think I'm gonna
(36:21):
learn guitar, and he goes, oh, I've got a drum set.
Speaker 32 (36:24):
Let's let's do this.
Speaker 31 (36:25):
And then and then we were at it for like
the next like three years, just learning, you.
Speaker 5 (36:29):
Know, nice And you're saying that this was happening at
ten years old.
Speaker 32 (36:32):
This is happening at ten years old.
Speaker 31 (36:34):
We played a show in this formation I mean obviously
not lucky dangerous, but in this formation in a backyard
when we were about eleven. It was like the first
thing that we both did. And we did some talent
shows and so, but we also have been in a
lot of different projects.
Speaker 6 (36:50):
So and you guys grew up on Long Island, We
grew up on Long Island. For the listeners to understand.
Speaker 31 (36:54):
That, yes, yes we did, and but yeah, I mean
we've been in a ton of bands and uh set.
So to fast forward through that, I mean we've been
friends of the whole time. Right around I would think
like two thousand and eighteen, we both were finished with
our bands that we were in and we had nothing
going on. So it's like, oh, look, you know we
(37:15):
would always we would jam like time, you know, time
and time again, and we started jamming kind of filming ourselves,
doing like random random covers and and things, and you know,
one day it was like, let's stop doing covers, you know,
and then.
Speaker 4 (37:33):
Here we are.
Speaker 5 (37:34):
That's awesome. So Lucky Dangerous was formed in twenty eighteen.
Speaker 31 (37:37):
Then it was formed in twenty yeah, twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen,
and we came out with the first song in November
twenty nineteen.
Speaker 5 (37:46):
Oh hell y am man.
Speaker 6 (37:47):
So this is actually pretty fresh. It's you guys met
when you were tend Yeah, how old are you now?
Speaker 31 (37:52):
And now I am thirty five years old.
Speaker 5 (37:53):
No doubt, I'm almost thirty five, around the same age.
Speaker 22 (37:56):
I feel.
Speaker 31 (37:57):
I feel like a decade younger. It's I don't know
what's happened.
Speaker 4 (37:59):
Well that's a good thing.
Speaker 5 (38:00):
I feel a decade older. So lucky for you.
Speaker 32 (38:03):
But yeah, we uh.
Speaker 31 (38:07):
We we uh now we're just doing We're like two.
It's hard to explain this. It's like we're we're kind
of just like doing what we we do to hang out. Yeah,
I mean I've been in a lot of bands and
bands can be complicated, Yes they can. They can so
like but with us, it's like, this is what we
we were. We were hanging out. I mean when we
were eleven, we were skateboarding. Come we we go outside, skateboard,
(38:33):
come back in and and just play and just blast
the house out and uh you know and that that
that's minus the skateboarding now because the falls hurt a
little more at the at this point.
Speaker 6 (38:44):
But yeah, let me ask you a quick question before
we get you playing your first song of the night.
Where did the name Lucky Dangerous come from?
Speaker 5 (38:53):
How was that formed?
Speaker 31 (38:54):
To be honest with you, it was just like two
words that I thought sounded good together they do yeah,
And that was really it. Nothing no deepness to that.
It's just like does kind of work? And ran it
by Chris and he's like, yeah, it works, and then
that was it.
Speaker 4 (39:08):
I like it a lot.
Speaker 3 (39:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 31 (39:09):
Yeah, Well I could make up some elaborate story, but
it would be a lie.
Speaker 5 (39:13):
Yeah yeah, yeah, all right.
Speaker 6 (39:16):
John, if you want to just tell us real quick
about the first song you're about to play, and we'll
get you.
Speaker 5 (39:21):
We'll get you on cool.
Speaker 31 (39:22):
So the first song I'm gonna play is uh, a
tune of ours called Joanna, which is off of our
first first DP track, one of the tracks I believe,
I don't know what, I don't know what number.
Speaker 32 (39:33):
Five I think and uh yeah, we've.
Speaker 31 (39:38):
Done more of a rocked up version since we put
that out, and it's very like sort of beatlesy, but
our live version is kind of more, uh you know,
a little bit of rock and roll, a little more
rock and roll so we can get him dancing.
Speaker 6 (39:51):
All right, guys, so you heard it. We got John
here from Lucky Dangerous. He's about to perform the song.
Speaker 31 (39:55):
Joe Joanna, Joanna, Johanna is the the that's a Dylan,
no doubt its actually and that too.
Speaker 22 (40:03):
Yeah, you're about to.
Speaker 6 (40:04):
Hear Joanna by Lucky Dangerous live here in the I
Radio USA Studio Double Trouble Radio hit it.
Speaker 33 (40:38):
She never mentions the word addiction, answered and calm.
Speaker 15 (40:50):
Yes to tell you she's an orphone.
Speaker 33 (40:56):
After you meet her family, mm hmmm h.
Speaker 15 (41:32):
Pains her eyes back.
Speaker 2 (41:34):
It's not now.
Speaker 33 (41:38):
Also, she's now time. You have to give a smile
when the pain comes. Pain't gonna make everything all right?
Speaker 1 (41:56):
That he talks the Wayney.
Speaker 9 (42:14):
The color.
Speaker 15 (42:26):
It keeps a lack of hair in a pocket.
Speaker 3 (42:31):
That was nice, inciated. Thank you for a lot of
times you get artist in here, and I gotta be
honest with you, I hate the depressing ship.
Speaker 31 (42:41):
Yeah we're not We're not a depressing like. We kind
of want to be a have a good time sort
of feel, you know what I mean. That's what I
miss about old And we're influenced by a lot of
the old rock and roll stuff. Even even the new
bands that we are influenced by, if you you figure
out their influences, it all comes from like the same thing.
I'm looking at this Beatles clock ahead of me over here.
Speaker 4 (43:02):
Yeah, and if you.
Speaker 31 (43:04):
Think about like just early rock stuff, and I'm talking.
Speaker 3 (43:07):
Early, like you know, early sixties fifties, it was like
what was it about?
Speaker 31 (43:12):
It was about dancing. It was about having a good time,
a good time, and that's what I you know, what
I think we're trying to do over here.
Speaker 3 (43:17):
We've had artists and I don't want to any names,
but they made nine inch nails and stained look looked.
I mean it was like crazy, what's the matter? Eric?
Oh no, I'm talking on the microphone line. Oh no,
(43:42):
don't tell me. We went off the air again. That
would suck.
Speaker 5 (43:48):
Well, the MIC's are on and we're having a conversation.
Speaker 3 (43:51):
So but I see the Black Crows, but I hear
our interview, so we're not playing. She talks to angels,
but we are in the middle of an interview. It's
quite okay. Did did P did he send you that
(44:14):
that lub yet?
Speaker 22 (44:16):
I guess not?
Speaker 5 (44:17):
All right?
Speaker 3 (44:20):
Did P did he send over the loube yet? Sent
it to my apartment? I put the radio with Drake,
you know. But anyway, but thank you for loving us.
It's okay, it's okay. You know, it could be worse.
(44:41):
You could have heard the Black Keys. Dude, that was nice,
good and upbeat.
Speaker 5 (44:46):
Do you have a problem with the Black Keys?
Speaker 1 (44:48):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (44:48):
Only on the piano.
Speaker 3 (44:51):
And uh nice to not beat. But yeah, we've had
guys that came in real depressing stuff and it's like
you nine inch nails look happy? What's the matter, Dave?
What are we looking at here?
Speaker 5 (45:04):
Audio coming from somewhere.
Speaker 31 (45:06):
I can hear actually, yeah, actually I can too.
Speaker 3 (45:11):
It's on my fucking phone.
Speaker 5 (45:12):
I gotcha.
Speaker 6 (45:13):
All right, So sorry for that minor interruption there, and
but we're gonna go ahead and talk to John a
little more about Lucky Dangerous and what's going on with
the band and anything that you'd like to share with
our listeners before you get into the next track.
Speaker 5 (45:27):
You know, it's a feel free to do it.
Speaker 31 (45:29):
Well, we got a show coming up at the for
the U. Long Island listeners at the Village Pub, which
there's been a lot of inn in Lindenhurst. Yeah, so
we're going to be doing that. That's on February fifteenth.
We go on at eight o'clock. That's going to be
a good time. And yeah, I mean, you know, we're
just out there trying to rock man like two we're
(45:51):
just like I said, we're two friends.
Speaker 32 (45:53):
That that's what we do.
Speaker 3 (45:54):
So now if people want to check out your music online,
how do they go about that?
Speaker 31 (45:59):
Oh it's whatever you know, Spotify, YouTube, so basically Amazon,
all of them. Yeah, are Dangerous, Lucky Dangerous. You'll find
us everywhere and we'll link you up on the Double
Trouble pages.
Speaker 5 (46:11):
I appreciate that. Thank you.
Speaker 3 (46:12):
And say somebody wants to purchase CD.
Speaker 22 (46:16):
Oh yeah we can.
Speaker 31 (46:17):
We've got a Lucky Dangerous store at.
Speaker 3 (46:20):
C Etsie Yes E'sie, So you can find Lucky Dangerous
at itsy if you like what you hear, or if
you go online and you like what you hear, and
people these days believe it or not.
Speaker 31 (46:35):
And I believe, if I can interrupt, I believe we're
in uh the if you if once again? For you
Long Island people, what's the Looney Tunes records?
Speaker 22 (46:44):
We're in there.
Speaker 4 (46:44):
That's great, that's great.
Speaker 3 (46:46):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 22 (46:47):
We're in there.
Speaker 31 (46:47):
And tunes really another record store called Infinity Records in
mass speakers, so Field.
Speaker 5 (46:53):
Yes, yes, very cool man.
Speaker 6 (46:55):
All right, let's get you playing a number track if
you want to talk about that one real quick?
Speaker 31 (46:59):
Okay, mostly in tune.
Speaker 22 (47:02):
I think that works.
Speaker 31 (47:05):
So this one, this kind of this song kind of
kicked off the EP.
Speaker 11 (47:10):
So we.
Speaker 32 (47:13):
How to put this?
Speaker 31 (47:14):
So when we started this band, unlike a lot of things,
because we knew each other so well, we did not
need to discuss what we were gonna sound like. We
just we were just writing, you know what I mean?
And so I would say that it took before we
got to the EP. You know, we were figuring out
what we wanted to do, and we have a few
tracks up there that uh, we were just finding our way.
(47:37):
So once we got to this track, it was like, okay,
we we sort of solidified what we wanted to do,
and not just so you know, not just as a
good song, but like sonically as well, because we record ourselves,
so it's like, oh, we really nailed the sound. So anyway,
this is track too on Anything can Happen, and it
does our EP and it is called Filthy does It?
Speaker 32 (47:57):
And it goes like this.
Speaker 15 (48:06):
Hell bet like an outlaw crashing the scene. She said,
I'm here for some action.
Speaker 34 (48:14):
If you know what I mean, shake me down, take
a dig in my soul, but don't get cruel to
my rock and roll.
Speaker 15 (48:24):
And if you run out of left, pump it up.
Brow your stone. Sally's imna go.
Speaker 1 (48:32):
She's staying off.
Speaker 34 (48:33):
Better say out before she's going going gone a little
hit and run. She's shooting from the hip.
Speaker 15 (48:39):
Get out my way.
Speaker 32 (48:40):
You filthy does it?
Speaker 11 (48:47):
Now?
Speaker 34 (48:47):
Don't come bearing the blues because it's bad for your health.
Speaker 32 (48:53):
You better keep it together, keep it all to yourself.
Speaker 15 (49:00):
It ain't a lost.
Speaker 27 (49:01):
Fine John, what I spent, I'd rather live it up
instead of paying the rent.
Speaker 32 (49:06):
Why do you have to ask me to explain myself?
If you know what I'm made.
Speaker 15 (49:12):
Sally is Hoth and cow Chance dying along. Let us
say that.
Speaker 34 (49:16):
I'll before she was going on God let on it
and run shooting from the hip, get out my way?
Speaker 32 (49:22):
Oh filthy does.
Speaker 11 (49:33):
All?
Speaker 27 (49:33):
Right?
Speaker 35 (49:33):
Man?
Speaker 5 (49:33):
That was an awesome song.
Speaker 6 (49:34):
I've been listening to it to you guys since I
saw you live at the Village Pub and I was
working the door that day and that.
Speaker 5 (49:40):
Was one of my favorite tracks that I've heard from you.
Speaker 4 (49:42):
Awesome.
Speaker 5 (49:43):
I appreciate it.
Speaker 6 (49:44):
Yes, so everybody listening, that was filthy does it. We
are here with John of the Long Island rock band
two piece rock band Lucky Dangerous, and we're conducting a
little mini interview and he's playing some songs for us.
Speaker 5 (49:55):
Why don't you jump right into the next one for us.
Speaker 31 (49:58):
Into the next one. I was actually going to do
a cover for this one. Hey, go for it, man,
we can get in the right key, put the cap on.
Speaker 5 (50:15):
Nope, I love kepos there it.
Speaker 32 (50:17):
Is so you all probably recognize this one.
Speaker 15 (50:29):
I'm coming out of my cage and I've been doing
just fine.
Speaker 27 (50:32):
Gotta got up and down because I want it all
started out with the kiss.
Speaker 15 (50:37):
How in that black vis It.
Speaker 32 (50:39):
Was only a kiss.
Speaker 34 (50:40):
It was only a kiss.
Speaker 15 (50:42):
Now I'm falling asleep. Then she's calling a cap Bollie's
having a smoke. Then she's taking a drag. Now then
go in up in and my stomach and sick hand,
it's all in my head. But she's touching as Jess.
Now he takes of her dress. Now, yea letting me go.
Speaker 1 (51:08):
I just can't look. It's killing me.
Speaker 15 (51:13):
And taking control.
Speaker 27 (51:20):
The jealousy turning Saint SAME's in the see swimming through
Saint Clabis, joking on your alibi.
Speaker 36 (51:32):
But it's just a price. I think testing me is
calling me open on my son, mister Bry's side coming out.
Speaker 1 (52:00):
I can't jen.
Speaker 15 (52:01):
I've been doing just fine. Gotta got up me down because.
Speaker 27 (52:04):
I want it all started out in a kiss, heading
in and a man now falling asleep, and she's calling
a cab while he's having a smoke, and she's taking
a track. Now they're calling up here, and my stomach
is sick, and it's all in my head, but she
keep chanting jazzing.
Speaker 15 (52:25):
Now he takes off her dress and now yell, letting
me go.
Speaker 1 (52:37):
Not just came. Look, it's killing me.
Speaker 15 (52:43):
And here he can comentrol.
Speaker 27 (52:50):
The jealousy turning sainting to the scene swimming through Sickla
by the choking on your alibis about it's just a
pe afect Destiny is calling the opening of.
Speaker 37 (53:09):
Myger because I'm mister bright Side, my never, my never,
(53:40):
my never.
Speaker 1 (53:46):
Hell.
Speaker 4 (53:46):
Well, great job, John, that was awesome, really good bro.
Speaker 5 (54:00):
I think I actually preferred your acoustic version of that
than the actual song.
Speaker 3 (54:05):
Yeah, thank you. I gotta be honest with you too.
Speaker 11 (54:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (54:08):
That's the Killers, correct, that's the Killer? Yeah, yeah, well
you killed it.
Speaker 4 (54:13):
That was a double trouble.
Speaker 3 (54:15):
Good.
Speaker 22 (54:16):
That was good.
Speaker 32 (54:17):
I can see why you guys are a thing.
Speaker 3 (54:19):
Yeah, we kind of think I can see why you
and Chris are a thing exactly. Sounds really good.
Speaker 5 (54:24):
All right.
Speaker 6 (54:25):
Due to the time right now, I'd love it if
you could just jump right into one last song. Yeah,
and then we'll do a quick chat before we get
to our unsigned bands.
Speaker 3 (54:33):
Sounds great, okay, all right?
Speaker 6 (54:35):
For those who are listening, we're here with John from
the band Lucky Dangerous. Check them out online. We're live
on Double Shot.
Speaker 3 (54:40):
Room is open. Guys, give him some love.
Speaker 32 (54:43):
And this song is the first song that we put
out called let It Roll.
Speaker 27 (54:57):
Well, everybody knows that the sundown shine what your heads
down in the sand, and you can't cold rock and roll.
Speaker 34 (55:04):
Without a band at This is what I was told.
Tell a friend of a friend. New ad has had
on straight till it was brought down to his views
the buying this girl who's spoke in Japanese. Oh Baby Land,
roll round again, Oh Baby Land Roll yeah, hope. Now
(55:37):
I'm not saying I know it all. I'm just saying
I've been around, I've been chewing up and spit back
on the ground.
Speaker 10 (55:45):
Let me tell you how the kind of.
Speaker 15 (55:47):
Thing will turn your cold. There are your paper is soul,
pick up your face.
Speaker 32 (55:52):
It's better than.
Speaker 15 (55:53):
Get Oh oh baby Land, roll.
Speaker 10 (56:01):
Round again?
Speaker 15 (56:05):
No baby land in, roll.
Speaker 7 (56:12):
Till the end.
Speaker 15 (56:15):
Why anybody knows.
Speaker 34 (56:17):
That you chanced the jive, but you can't tell Elisa
Free you wind up with a nasty third degree.
Speaker 15 (56:24):
So nuncle crying to me like you're some kind of
TV star.
Speaker 8 (56:28):
Who don't you think you are?
Speaker 10 (56:30):

Speaker 15 (56:30):
You a petty cut but you don't drive no car,
No Baby Land round again, Land.
Speaker 2 (56:47):

Speaker 3 (57:01):
Good stuff?
Speaker 4 (57:01):
Hell yeah, no doubt.
Speaker 6 (57:05):
All right, So your next show is February fifteenth at
the Village Pub of Lindenhurst. Correct, yes, all right, they're
on at eight pm. Make sure you get there a
little early.
Speaker 3 (57:14):
Guys, check these guys out. Honestly, they're really good and
I enjoyed it, and check them out. Give them some
love on social media.
Speaker 5 (57:24):
You know the deal.
Speaker 6 (57:25):
Three quick questions. If you could open up for any
band that's currently Tory, who would it be?
Speaker 31 (57:30):
Oh god, quick, let's just let's just go how many
one or one one? Let's uh, let's go Green Day.
That's that's me and me and my boys.
Speaker 32 (57:40):
Background.
Speaker 5 (57:41):
Sounds good. If you could be any prehistoric creature, what
would it be?
Speaker 22 (57:46):
Nice? All right, Paul?
Speaker 3 (57:47):
Another good band?
Speaker 5 (57:48):
Yeah, Paul, you got a question.
Speaker 3 (57:51):
Yes, if you were in a room with what be
gold Burn?
Speaker 22 (57:57):
Oh boy, this guy like this.
Speaker 3 (58:01):
Is let's forget that question. Let's give him a musical question.
Your biggest musical influence.
Speaker 32 (58:09):
That's hard, man, it's a hard one.
Speaker 38 (58:10):
I know.
Speaker 32 (58:11):
I'll go with I'll go with, Uh.
Speaker 31 (58:13):
It changes so at the moment. It at the moment,
and not just because of the movie you. I'll have
to say, Bob Dylan.
Speaker 39 (58:19):
Yeah, yeah, oh yeah, man, yeah, I could see it
and Dylan, Oh my god, the band, I know, I know,
it's unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (58:30):
Yeah, Dylan, he was on a roll and then he
was a recluse for a while. But then you see
movies like The Last.
Speaker 32 (58:38):
Wolves and stuff like that, and it's like, yeah, he
was just doing what we missed.
Speaker 31 (58:43):
He was just doing what he wanted to do, you know,
just like you know, he he he had an idea
for himself and he was a creative and to this day,
and I love a lot of music, but nobody's lyrics
hit me the way he's done. Yeah, his delivery and
his like just everything.
Speaker 6 (59:00):
What are your thoughts on the current state of the
industry right now in regards to actually actual creativity.
Speaker 5 (59:04):
I think it's a little scary.
Speaker 31 (59:06):
I mean, you know, we're going to be having Ai
writing most of the songs soon, I think, so, you know, yeah,
you know, I try, and I could. We could definitely
sit here and talk about that for hours. I yeah,
I just I kind of like to live in my
own bubble.
Speaker 11 (59:20):
You know.
Speaker 31 (59:20):
I know what I'm doing, I know what my band
is doing, and and and you just got to hope
for the best from there. There's crazier things that have happened,
you know what I mean, Like things will always keep changing.
And uh, I think live music doesn't change. I think
good music doesn't change. And that's all we're trying to
put across.
Speaker 6 (59:40):
And while your influences show through your music, it's very
clear to me that it's coming from a place that's
very genuine and it's definitely you.
Speaker 13 (59:49):
There.
Speaker 5 (59:50):
It's coming from the heart.
Speaker 32 (59:51):
Appreciate it.
Speaker 31 (59:51):
Yeah, it's because it's the stuff that that we grew
up on. It's just all making its way and it's
it is coming from a genuine spot. And I don't
really know how to explain that because I hear a
lot of people trying to do something something else, not
really you know what I mean, And I don't really
know what that is. I just you know, it's all
it's we're not trying to copy somebody. We're not trying
(01:00:12):
to copy somebody. We're trying to just do you. Yeah,
what what I what I've I've always explained this is
like I feel like we're a version of a band
that we want to hear, you know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (01:00:24):
That makes sense.
Speaker 32 (01:00:25):
We're striving to be the band that was missing.
Speaker 5 (01:00:28):
It's like, what's that saying?
Speaker 3 (01:00:32):
Which one?
Speaker 32 (01:00:34):
There is a lot of saying there's quite a few
of them.
Speaker 22 (01:00:37):
This one.
Speaker 32 (01:00:40):
That's a nice one.
Speaker 5 (01:00:42):
All right, John, We want to thank you again for
coming down to the studio today.
Speaker 3 (01:00:46):
Door is always up there.
Speaker 22 (01:00:47):
Thank you for having me.
Speaker 3 (01:00:48):
Yeah, for sure, any music you got.
Speaker 4 (01:00:52):
To us.
Speaker 5 (01:00:53):
We're doing some live Double Trouble events where we're broadcasting
live performance.
Speaker 3 (01:01:00):
Of which we will be doing one at the Village
Pub of Massive Speak of February twenty second.
Speaker 22 (01:01:07):
We have grim Jack on the bill.
Speaker 3 (01:01:10):

music trivia and we've got some surprizes up U sleeve.
