Come on down the Woody Saloon.
Speaker 3 (30:27):
We'll see you there for a rock and time travel
and we're back. Lots and lots of stuff happened this
week in the music world. Well, not lots, but a
(30:49):
couple more mentioned. After forty two years, Nico McBrain has
retired from playing drums for Iron Maiden. Little side note,
I know before Maiden he was in this great band
from France called Trust, and he also did some work
(31:11):
with the legendary guitarist Pat Travers, So look into that
all you people out there that are big fans of his.
He's done some other work. But yeah, the man had
a stroke in October and here he is playing drums.
It's like Superman. So I give him credit. I know,
(31:36):
like the right side of him was somewhat paralyzed. And
for him to come back and to do this mini tour,
gotta give him horns high. Hey, everybody's getting older. Also,
of all things, to get these two members from Pink
Floyd together was iced Tea with Body comp who did
(32:02):
a version of Comfortably Numb and actually got David Gilmore
and Roger Waters back together, So aren't there that's somewhat
of an accomplishment. And then today I saw ac DC's
going to be doing a tour in twenty twenty five,
(32:24):
and that's great now, you know. I mean, they were
such a great band. I don't know if anybody saw
the last couple of shows they did with Brian Johnson,
but once again getting older sucks. The man is deaf
and his singing, let's just say, wasn't.
Speaker 1 (32:43):
Up to par.
Speaker 3 (32:45):
So I mean, yeah, it's great to see these huge
stadium tours come through. The only question is the performance
is going to be that good. And speaking of arena tours,
Guns n' Roses also announced they will be doing a
tour in twenty twenty five, and I have to say
(33:06):
they have a very strange opening bunch of acts from
rap to punk, but they actually if you don't know,
there has been a sex Pistols tour going on over
the pond there in England and in Europe. And it's
(33:27):
not with Johnny Rotten or Johnny Lydon singing. They have
the original three members Glenn Madlac, Paul Cook, Steve Jones,
and for those of you that don't know, Glenn Madlac
was there before Sid Vicious. Sid was just a prop,
kind of like the Monkeys were in the sixties with
(33:49):
the TV show. Well he was a punk rock prop.
Really never knew how to play, but he looked great,
you know. So another side note, he was actually a
drummer in the band Susie and the Banshees back in
the day, said Vicious, So check that out too. But
the Sex Pistols will be opening up for Guns N' Roses,
(34:12):
along with two other acts which don't seem to come
to mind, but check it out. I'm sure it's there
online anyway. We're gonna get back to some music. Tonight's
unsigned bands. We have, the Greater Us, we Have, Loss
Becomes the Future Machine, the Crowling Eye, Spike and Pine
(34:39):
Street Band. Great band here from Long Island, which we'll
get into a little later. Right now, we're gonna get
back into the music. This one's from my boy mister Woodcock,
who I don't know if he's back in Florida yet,
but here's some dead boys for you on Double Trouble Radios.
Speaker 6 (35:31):
I don't need that.
Speaker 34 (35:32):

Speaker 3 (01:34:49):
All right, let's go from back to front. We had
Spike with Measure My Tears from New York. If you
guys get an opportunity and you really want to hear
a real good guitar player, I'm gonna go above a
really great guitar player. Go on YouTube and check out
(01:35:15):
Spike's Guitar Camp. He has a whole concept album along
with some other songs on there, some great guitar work.
Trust me, you won't be disappointed that Spike's Guitar Camp
on YouTube. Before that, we had The Crawling Eye with
(01:35:36):
their song Playing Dead from Wales in the UK, and
starting off that set, a local band from Long Island,
New York, Pine Street and their song flore It. They
will be performing this Saturday at Whiskey Rocks in West
(01:35:58):
Babylon with another great band, grim Jack. I have a
video shoot with my band Tarra Garden for a new
song that will be releasing next year, but I will
be there afterwards because I'd love to see both of
those bands play, and I'm also giving a free Kung
(01:36:21):
Fu lesson that night, wing Chun, so try to make
it down there. You'll see some interesting things that evening
with some great music. Next week we are doing our
Christmas show, and I gotta be honest with you. When
I think of December, I think of a lot of
(01:36:43):
rock enroll debts. I know Jim Morrison was born December fourth,
but there are a lot of rock and roll debts
in December, just off the top of my head. I
know there was Great Lake from elp Ray Gillen from
(01:37:04):
bad Lands, Black Sabbath, Razzle from Hanoi Rocks that Vince
Neil killed in a drunk driving crash, Rick Danko from
the Band, Scott Wiland from Stone Temple, Pilot's Velvet Revolver,
Tommy Bowlin from Deep Purple, and James Gang. Also there
(01:37:29):
was Roy Orbison, Ike Turner when he wasn't beaten Tina
he passed away in December, Mike Nesmith from The Monkeys,
Ian Stewart who is the keyboardist for the Rolling Stones
for many many years, Frank Zapper, Captain Beeth Hallart, Lemmy
(01:37:54):
from Motorhead, Joe Strummer from The Clash, Joe Cow, Kurt
Leslie West, and of course we can't forget about Dinebag,
Darryl and John Lennon, who were both assassinated on December eighth.
(01:38:16):
So yes, when I think of December, I think of
a lot of rock and roll debts unfortunately, but.
Speaker 4 (01:38:25):
On a happier note, we will be doing.
Speaker 3 (01:38:29):
Our Christmas show next week, so we'll have a lot
of Christmas cheer music and yeah, if you have any suggestions,
by all means hit us up and for any bands
that would like their music on our show. What you
(01:38:49):
need to do is you need to send us an
MP three with the name of the band, the name
of the song, and where you're from. And you could
hit us up at day Dixon I Radio USA at
gmail dot com or Paul Treasure Music twenty four. I
(01:39:12):
know it's very complicated, Paul Dressa Music twenty four at
yahoo dot com. And if the music rocks, we shall
play it. And let me tell you, I've been getting
a lot of great music lately. Well, it is time
for our classic Track of the week and it comes
(01:39:34):
from one of the artists I was just speaking of,
mister Frank Zappa. This song's off the Sheikhya Booty album,
in which I believe came out in nineteen seventy eight.
And this is great advice for everyone out there because
you see all these bleeding hearts on Facebook and Instagram
(01:39:57):
and this and that, and everybody's crying, crying, crying, but
you're missing the secret. And this is the secret. Kids
on Double Troubles, classic bands.

Speaker 35 (01:44:00):
All they got from Paulie was protection from other guys
looking to rip them off. And that's what it's all about.
That's what the FBI could never understand that what Paulie
and the organization does is offer protection for people who
can go to the cops. That's it, that's all it is.
They're like the police Department for wise guys.

back to front White Zombie doing Black Sunshine, which featured
mister Iggy Pop. In there. We had Exodus with the
toxic Waltz Wasp from the first album doing School Days.
(01:57:55):
I caught these guys last month at the Hammerstein Ballroom.
It's my eleventh WASP concert. They're just phenomenal. I know
Blackie's the only original member, but whatever. It was just
such a great show. We had our classic track of
the Week from mister Frank Zappa, who reminded us that
(01:58:16):
broken hearts are for assholes. We had our unsigned bands
and we'd like to thank each and every one of
them for submitting music. This week we had Pantera with
Broken Mister Jim Carroll with It's Too Late, Orgy with
(01:58:37):
Blue Monday, brand new music from Hailstorm, and I Prevail
with a song called can You See Me in the Dark.

(02:00:08):
merry next week. No matter what you celebrate, Hanukah, Kwanza,
whatever the fuck. Everybody celebrates some kind of shit, But
as long as you're celebrating, it's a good thing. Because
December is a dreary month. It gets dark at four o'clock,
it's raining like it is now, it's cold and windy.
(02:00:31):
So yeah, but on the bright side, it's supposed to
be sixty degrees in New York tomorrow. Unfortunately sixty mile
winds and also rains. So you got to take the
good with the bad. Anyway, Till next week, people, remember.
Speaker 2 (02:00:50):
We love it.
Speaker 6 (02:00:51):
Long'll say it.
