Speaker 1 (00:01):
All right, guys, welcome back to Downtown Rams. As always,
I'm Alexis Kraft. Join here with my coast Jake ellen Bogan,
and we are coming to you to preview our Rams
matchup against the New York Jets this Sunday at MetLife
Stadium in New Jersey. Jake, it feels like it's been
a long time since the Rams played, and it's been

(00:24):
longer than usual because they played on Thursday Night football.
But it has been like a kind of an extended break,
you know, for us in the show, because the Rams
themselves got an extended break. So we're back into it
Sunday game. It's gonna be an early game for our
friends on the West Coast because it's a one o'clock
eastern kickoff time. So for all of you on the
West Coast in LA and you know, wherever you are

(00:48):
on the West Coast, it'll be a ten am game.
That's crazy. I can't imagine watching football that early, but
I think it'd be great.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
I mean, I got a handle of that when I
was in LA and I was like, wait, football is
on the Hell's going on?

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Right?

Speaker 3 (01:04):
It's like a shock to the system, you know, so.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Well, I I feel that people in Central time, like myself,
get the best deal because it's like noon. It's like
a perfect it's like twelve o'clock. You could sleep in
on Sunday, do whatever you do on Sunday mornings. For me,
it's like that's my laundry in day. Sometimes I go

(01:28):
get groceries. I like try to get it done in
the morning and then I could sit down on the
couch at noon and just enjoy football the rest of
the day. And you know, I enjoy that. I like noon,
So I finally and I normally have to wait to
watch the Rams. You know, obviously most people do to
the second slate of games, but like we get we're

(01:48):
first slate this Sunday. Yeah, one o'clock eastern. So yeah,
it'll be a nice little change up here for us
Rams fans to watch them in the first slate of games.
But Jake, going into MetLife, the Rams won't be the
only ones at MetLife on Sunday. You will be there.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
I have not missed a Rams MetLife game since they played,
I want to say, since they played on that Monday
night football game against the Giants with the Dame and
Doola dislocated elbow. I'm pretty sure that's the only METLFE
game I haven't been to.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
I've been to.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
I went to the twenty what was it, the fifty
one to seventeen game against the Giants, the thirty eight
to twenty two game against the Giants, the twenty six
to twenty five game against the Giants, the nine to
six game against the Jets, and now I'm going to
this Jets game.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
So you know, we're.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
We're undefeated when it comes to those games. Let's keep
this thing going.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Well, you and I went to MetLife together watch them
take on the Giants in twenty twenty one.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
That was the one where we got up and Jalen
Ramsey another interception and they were just stomping the crap.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
Out of it.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Yeah, wey, they just stomped the Giants that day. It
was a really fun day and it was a nice day.
It was a little cold, but it was pretty nice
that Met Life that day too, so we couldn't complain
about that October weather. I think that was October.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
Yeah, how cold was it that day? It was that
like forties, fifties.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
I want to say it was like fifties because I
had on a jersey. I had on a hoodie under
the jersey, and I was like fine, especially because we
were there was like sun too, so it wasn't I
want to say it was like low fifties, maybe mid fifties.
But yeah, that was a fun game. And Eli Manning
was there. That was the game that they like. That's

(03:42):
I thought that was cool because I had never gotten
to see him play a person. I believe the.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
Whole Giants Super Bowl team was there.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
You were they was? I remember? Okay, yeah, they.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
Were honoring Coughlin, I remember David Dial. Yeah, a lot
of them.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Yep, because I remember Coughlin was there. Yeah, And I
had had no idea going into that game. I don't
know if any of us did, because I feel like
we were all sitting there and we're like, oh my god,
like all of these like very successful Hall of Fame
Giants are coming out at halftime.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
That's normally not a good sign.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Because the Rams did that for the ninety nine team
when I was out there, Yeah, they had.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
A different outcome.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Typically you don't want that to happen because you just lose.
I don't know, it's never good.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Well, right, but yeah, that was a very that was
a fun game. And you know what, I'm hoping that
the Rams can deliver the performance at MetLife this time
that they did back in twenty twenty one when we
were there last, because or I was there last, you've
been there since. I think the last game that you
were at of MetLife was that kyn no.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
No, no, yes, yeah?

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Was it the three touchdown game.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
Yep twenty six, twenty five.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
I watched his mom like he threw the ball and
then like his mom ripped the ball out of the
like this other fans hands. That was clearly a Giants fan. Yeah,
I remember that. That was That was horrifying because that
game came down to the absolute last second. If you

(05:14):
guys forgot Mason Crosby, the stars were aligned. This guy's
at the end of his rope. You look at he
you know, he signs with the Rams, doesn't get an opportunity,
gets cut, and then he has a chance to potentially
keep the Rams out of the playoffs. The team that
cut him, and he shanked it so bad. But from
where we were sitting, you can't tell until they're just like,

(05:36):
you know, because we're on the side. And Tyrod Taylor
the game he played in that one. I don't know
why the Giants let him go. I'll be honest with you,
I have no idea why they let him go. He's
better than anybody that was under center this year.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
For them, Well something to note. And I'm seeing this
in the chat. So for everybody listening, we are doing
this episode live, so there are people watching us. We
have three hundred and sixty people in here right now.
I'm listening to this live, which is awesome for us
not announcing this on a Friday night. So a big
shout out to everybody watching right now. But I'm seeing

(06:12):
some comments. But the weather on Sunday, and so it
is going to be cold. It is a according to
the chat high of twenty seven, low of thirteen, that.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
Be pretty cold to the Nines.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Yeah, it is going to be very cold. That obviously
brings challenges, you know, to a football team. You know,
the Rams have not yet played in cold weather this year.
If they have, it has not been like this. This
is like beyond cold.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
Oh, this is this is the coldest game since twenty
twenty two against Green Bay on that primetime night with Baker.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
Yeah, so that definitely will play a factor. And there's
a lot of things, you know, when the weather's cold,
that you got to look out for. So we'll talk
about that. But Jake kind of looking at this Jets
team obviously, I think, you know, when people think of
the Jets right now, you think of Aaron Rodgers and
kind of everything that he brings, right and then you
think of right now, you think of Woody Johnson and everything.

(07:11):
So like everything that the Jets have been in the
news for has like been not really football related. So
it'll be it'll be good for us to kind of
talk about like the actual Jets team, because no, I
don't see any talk about the Jets that's football related.
You know, they're one of those teams right now that
just between the owner and some of the players on
the team, like nothing of actual football is getting discussed.

(07:35):
So I think a lot of people that are probably
listening to this are like, what do we actually need
to look out for, you know when when we play
the Jets. So let's talk about the Jets, and let's
start by talking about you know, kind of the guy
leading the offense, Jake. Aaron Rodgers, you know, obviously had
a very successful career in Green Bay with a lot

(07:58):
of fun to watch in his prime, played on some
very exciting Green Bay Packers teams. Then he gets traded,
you know, to the Jets. He kind of facilitates that trade.
Things kind of go you know south in Green Bay.
He ends up being traded to the Jets. And first
game of the season tears is Achilles. Right, we all

(08:19):
know it. We all watched it primetime Monday Night football.
He goes out there, has a horrible injury, doesn't play,
you know, for the Jets that season. Now, in his
first true season kind of playing for the Jets, it's
not going well. You know, they've really struggled. They had
some rough games, have had some games where they looked okay,

(08:40):
but really, Jake, it's kind of surprising, you know, between
Aaron Rodgers, Garrett Wilson, and DeVante Adams. I don't know
what's your take, because I have to be honest. I
don't sit and watch a lot of Jets games. I've
looked at the numbers to prepare for this, right, I
know what the media talk is. I've seen some of
them this season, but I'm not going out of my

(09:02):
way to particularly sit down and watch this team. Have
you watched a ton of the Jets. If so, what
are your thoughts on them?

Speaker 3 (09:09):
So watching ton of the Jets?

Speaker 2 (09:12):
No, but I've watched them enough to say Aaron Rodgers
is playing the best football he's played all year.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
Now.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Obviously they're coming off a win against a completely terrible,
dreadful Jacksonville Jaguars team that you know, really I have
no idea what to say.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
I mean, they've just been horrible.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
But Aaron Rodgers has thrown six touchdowns and only one pick,
you know, over the last say four or five games.
And when you look at Rogers, he's way more confident.
He's got a great rapport that obviously doesn't go away
because he threw to him for so long. And DeVante Adams,
and then you have a player in Garrett Wilson where

(09:53):
you could throw to him any part of the field
and he's so good after the catch where he can
make plays and he kind of almost kind of reminiscent
to an Odell Beckham junior, you know, really dangerous when
he gets in the open field and just has great
vision and you know, great athleticism. So you have those guys,
then you have Breis Hall, who's been somewhat disappointing this year.

(10:15):
He's also had issues with injuries. You have Tyron Smith
who goes down with an injury their left tackle. So
insert a guy that you and I talked about at
nauseum during the draft process, Ulu Fashionu, who just looks
so good. And that is going to be a very
key and critical matchup between Fashionu and Jared Verse.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
So we're gonna see that on full display.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
You know, they have some good role players, right you know,
I don't think Braylen Allen is going to play in
this game, but you know, Alan Lazard is a guy
that has good rapport with you know, Rogers from his
days in Green Bay. And in addition to that, Tyler
Conklin has developed a nice connection with Rogers. On the
defensive side, this is a team that you know, can

(11:00):
force turnovers. They haven't been great, but they can force turnovers.
They still got guys like Sauce Garner and DJ Reid
I think one of the best corner duos in the league.
They are a little bit sceptible to getting susceptible to
getting beat over the top. Chuck Clark's giving up four
touchdowns this year. Their linebackers were quick, They can cut
off you know, getting to the outside, bouncing those runs

(11:21):
the outside. But Alexis, this once dominant defense doesn't have
the pass rush they had. They got rid of John
Franklin Myers, they lost Bryce Huff and then of course
Hassan Reddick comes up and he's just not playing at
the level that they were expecting. So I think, really
the Jets have a lot of talent on paper, but
a paper tiger isn't necessarily going to make it to

(11:42):
the playoffs and win the Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
And that's why they're four and ten. They've lost ten games,
and they've been in ten games where you know, it
resulted in one possession. So I think, you know, that's
pretty much the summary for the Jets as of right now.
Aaron Rodgers is still Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
He might not be as mobile as he used to be,
might not be as accurate as he used to be,
but if you give him time and you can't bring
him down, he's still gonna make you pay. He still
has two elite wide receivers and Garrett Wilson and Devonte Adams,
and if that run game is able to get going
against the Rams, then he's got the play action attack
and he could be as dangerous as anybody. So I

(12:22):
understand he's over the hill. I get it.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
But there's also a reason why there are Jets fans
clamoring to keep him around for next year, and it's
because the way he's playing as of late.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
Well, yeah, I think that's definitely gonna be something to
watch between Aaron Rodgers and our secondary. Right you know,
we've had some shake up in our secondary. You know,
we haven't really had a consistent secondary due to you know,
a couple of different reasons, particularly injury this season. You know,
Kobe Durrant, it sounds like is going to come back.
You know, I don't know if he's gonna be fully back.

(12:55):
I don't know if they're going to mix in you know,
Kello with him and how they're going to do that,
you know, with his injury. You know, Keller had a
very good game.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
Keller is getting the nod, So I don't know if
they like rotate them. But Kell's going to start, That's
what I do know, So.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
We'll see him, you know. You know, if Durant plays,
you know he's going to be mixed in there. You know,
Quentin Lake, cam Curl, Darius Williams. It's going to be
very interesting to see, you know, Rogers match up with them,
you know, because I think Rogers is probably going to
target Darius Williams off the bat. I think that's been

(13:34):
kind of you know a week or a link, you know,
he did. He has had some really good plays, but
I think overall, you know, we needed to see a
little bit more out of him. And knowing Aaron Rodgers,
I think he's going to target some of the young
and inexperienced guys in the secondary. And then you also
have to think, you know, you've got two very good
receivers and Adams and Wilson, right, so you're gonna have

(13:54):
to cover them really hard and it's going to be
a task. So you know, I'm curious what the Rams
decide to do there. I'm curious, you know who do
they put Kellawan?

Speaker 2 (14:05):
Right?

Speaker 1 (14:05):
Do you put him on Adams? Probably? I think that's
probably the matchup. I think then you try and you know,
mix in some guys to cover Wilson. You know over
there you mentioned you know, Breis Hall, I think it's
going to be somebody to look out for. Braylan Allen
probably you know, is not going to play. But to me,
the story of this Jets offense going against the Rams

(14:27):
is what is Adams able to do with Adams? And sorry,
what is Aaron able to do with Adams and Wilson? Right,
what what does that look like? Because I think with
kind of the secondary a little bit haven't been super consistent.
I think they're gonna go. I think they're gonna go
with it. I think they're gonna start off strong with
the past game, especially knowing that Braylen Allen is out

(14:50):
and so you've kind of just got you know, I mean,
they've got a couple of different options actually running back. But
I think but yeah, I mean he was out of
stelth to could state, right, Yeah, I think we covered him.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
Yeah, we covered him and that was that was Blade's guy.
He said that he would take him over Zach Charboney
and oh man did he get some blowback on draft Twitter.
But but yeah, I think, well you have to look
out for Isaiah Davis too, because while the Jets are
susceptible to getting absolutely decimated by the screen game, which

(15:23):
I think the Rams started to really implement when their
offense got healthy. We saw that against the Bills, a
lot of you know, wide receiver screens when you look
at the Jets side of things, like for the Rams,
they get beat by the screen a lot. So Isaiah
Davis has been kind of a big part of their
kind of dump off game, and I think that could

(15:44):
be a problem for the Rams if they're not ready
for it. Is he blazing fast, No, but he could
break arm tackles. He's strong, he's a good, you know,
natural hands receiver. He's sneaky. He finds his way in
the end zone, and you know he might not touch
the ball the whole game, and then they you know,
call him up on the in the fourth quarter and uh,
you know, he steps up. So the Jets aren't your

(16:07):
typical four and ten team at all. This is a
team that I would say is better than the record.
I understand, you are what you are, and I get that,
but this year it's been tough. I mean ten one
possession games that they've lost this year. That means they're
in a lot of games. And I understand they've gotten

(16:27):
blown out by teams like the Cardinals, for instance, but
the Rams don't blow teams out. So that's that's what
I'll say there. And one thing to mention, Aaron Rodgers
has had the majority of his sacks this year. Uh
and pressures they've been on the left tackle. And now
that Fashion News there, it just feels like he's playing

(16:48):
way better than Tyron Smith played. I don't think people
are really privy of that information, but but.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
Yeah, that that's how I feel.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
I think Fashion New kind of gave him new lease,
you know, on life in the pocket if you will.
And I don't think it's necessarily just because the Jaguars
are bad. That the Jets scored I think the most
points of their season last week.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
Maybe everyone in the chat, so everybody knows. I'm a
Notre Dame fan, and I'm sorry this is a sidebar, Jake,
because I would to acknowledge what's happening right now that
you're probably not aware of. So well, you know that
they're playing in the college football playoff right now.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
Yeah, I only know because she told me right before
we went live.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
Jeremiah rushed Jeremiah Love. Notre Dame is running back, one
of the best in the country, by the way, just
ran for a ninety eight yard touchdown. So I just
was my phone was lighting up the chat. Everybody's like,
oh my god, you know, I was like I missed
a Jeremiah Love. And by the way, Jake, I'm gonna
draw a comparison. I'm going to do it live here

(17:57):
right now on the show because part of the lore
of downtown rams part of the lore. Okay, so is
that I Kien Williams sophomore year. I said to Jake,
there's this running back out of Notre Dame. His name
is Kien Williams. Here's his highlights. Watch out for him.
I want him right Well, guess what, there's another running

(18:19):
back out of Saint Louis that goes to Notre Dame
named Jeremiah Love. One of the best in the country,
and he's insane and he's a sophomore right now. So, Jake,
I'm telling you the same thing history is repeating itself.
Check out Jeremiah Love and everything, Joseph, I would say,
so he just I just it's the longest run program history.

(18:43):
He just tied it. So that but also kyn had
that run. Remember I wonder if it was that run
that he just tied. But I won't we won't get
two sidetracked. But Jeremiah is like a more of a
dual roll back. I would say he's he's good. Yeah,
it's very fun to watch in ninety eight yards. I

(19:03):
can't believe. I just you all weren't lying.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
When you were blown up your eyes.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
Thought, okay, so let's get back to the show. Other
than that that moment, that sidebar, Jake, I think we're
a little bit on the same page. On my offense,
it sounds I mean, you know what I think the
Jets are going to try to do. I didn't you know. Yeah,

(19:30):
I think it's going to be a big game from
Adams and potentially I think they're going to try to
have a big game for Adams and Wilson. I think
they're going to do a lot in the passing game.
You know, we'll see.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
I expect, well, they got to get the run game
going because both sides. We saw last year cold weather
game December, MetLife Stadium.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
What did the Rams do?

Speaker 2 (19:53):
They pounded the rock with Kiren, and I think the
Jets need to pound the rock with Bresee Hall because
I think you have to establ early on and if
you run in between the guards in center, you might
have a shot.

Speaker 1 (20:07):
You know.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
I think Simpson, the way he's playing this year, he's
done a really nice job at left tackle, left guard
John Simpson, Joe Tipman, who we talked about in the
draft does a really nice job at center. And then
Elijah via Tucker who's back from his devastating injury last year.
Really good player, doing a really nice job at right guard.
The issue is, I think fashion you also can be

(20:29):
a help on that side. The issue has been Morgan
Moses in pass pro. But make no mistake about it,
like I think you can run on this Rams defense.
They've had their moments where they're able to shut you know,
teams down, but good running backs do well against this team.
And Breis Hall he's not the best year obviously, but

(20:52):
to be fair here he's been banged up. They've kind
of been going back and forth with that whole Breis Hall,
Braylan Allen and now throwing in Isaiah Davis. If they
stick with Breis Hall and run the football and the
Rams can't stop them, well, now they're moving the ball,
Now they're killing the clock. Now they're controlling the game.

(21:14):
They're tiring your defense. And in addition to that, they're
unlocking an element to a methodical pass game, which is
the play action pass.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
And that's why I do expect them to come out
and try and pound the rock.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
If the Rams up front with Bobby Brown and Kobe
Turner and Braden Fisk and you know all the other
guys that will you know, likely fit in there, Ty Davis,
Deswon Johnson, we'll see like who ends up dressing for
this game. But if those guys are able to step
up up front, it forces you know, Aaron Rodgers to
play backyard football. That's great for him sometimes, but when

(21:54):
it doesn't go well, it's ugly, and we've seen that.
So it should be interesting to see how they kind
of attack this team, both on the offense and defensive side.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
Do you blitz him? What do you do here?

Speaker 2 (22:06):
And I think Rogers can really just he's a veteran.
So if you stay in zone, you know, you're really
just gonna pick them apart. Rogers gonna pick you apart.
So there's that. But I think for the Rams, I
would definitely start this game off by forcing them, forcing

(22:27):
Will McDonald, forcing Quinn Williams, forcing Javon Kinlaw, forcing Michael Clemens,
forcing the linebackers up front to stop kyn Williams, because
if they can't, you have control of the game. So
I think it goes on both sides, and I think
both sides, with how cold it's going to be, are
going to run the football well.

Speaker 1 (22:46):
And that so let's touch on that now, you know,
flipping sides, switching gears to you know, the Rams offense.
I that's what I suspect. But do I do think
that they're going to come out try to pound the ball,
you know, against this Jets defense. You know, we'll see
if it's successful or not. I had a lot of
people messaging me about the cold, and you know how

(23:07):
in the cold running backs tend to fumble. I mean,
it's it's, you know, a thing, and you know, obviously,
I know a lot of people are concerned about the
fumble issue with Cairo and even though thankfully you know,
it's been a few games. So I think that's something
to watch out for. But again, you know, I think
players are prepared to play in cold weather. I think
that you you account for these risks. So I do
think that the Rams are going to come out. They've

(23:29):
shown to have complete faith in him since that, so
I think it'll be that'll be game plan number one,
you know, and then if you can't get anything going
against the run, obviously, I think you start to get
Pooka Nukua involved a little bit more. You know, Cooper Cup.
I think that we could potentially see a big game
from Cooper Cup. You know, obviously, you know on Prime Time,

(23:52):
zero's across the stat sheet, right, people start talking about
Cooper Cup, especially people who don't watch the Rams, right,
people are piss so my fantasy playoff. You know, Cooper
Cup just scored zero points. I don't think that that's
going to happen against the Jets. I don't want people
to be obnoxious about it. I actually think Cooper Cup
is going to have a very good game. And you know,

(24:13):
in these cold games, a lot of times teams turn
to veterans, right, you know, it's it's they've been here before,
they've done that. So we'll see. But I do suspect
that the game plan for the Rams, initially off the bat,
will probably be to run the ball a lot, and
maybe we'll see more Blake Koram too. You know. Every week,

(24:34):
you know, we've kind of jinxed it with Blake Korum.
We've always been like, bet on a Blake Korum anytime touchdown.
Lord knows I've done it for like four games straight.
I'm going to do it again though, because.

Speaker 3 (24:43):
I think that I'm done with that one.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
You've had it, Yeah, I've learned, You've learned your lesson.
I haven't.

Speaker 3 (24:51):
Yeah, I'm tired of being wrong. I like to be right.

Speaker 1 (24:54):
And well, yeah, then what do you think about the
score prediction? Now? Getting into that? Do you think so
it's your right prediction?

Speaker 2 (25:04):
So I went through and I found some some details.
First off, in the Sean McVay era, the Rams are
eight and two when going to the Northeast. Not bad,
right for sunny California team that can't play in the cold.
I hear that a lot this week, but is it true?
Sean McVay is one in four in cold weather games

(25:25):
that are below thirty five degrees fahrenheit. Interesting last and
the only game he's won in a game colder than
thirty five degrees was the Denver Broncos game where Todd
Gurley had over two hundred rushing yards. So maybe that's
what Karen's gonna do. Alexis would be like absolutely losing it.

(25:46):
But all jokes aside. The two of the highest scoring
games for the Rams I'm talking about their points have
come at MetLife Stadium fifty one.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
I was there.

Speaker 2 (25:58):
I was at both of them, one points against the
Giants back in twenty seventeen, and then in twenty twenty
one when they won the Super Bowl. That year they
won thirty eight to eleven to the Giants. You and
I were there. They just absolutely smacked him. So those
are two of the highest scoring games at me Life Stadium,

(26:20):
and uh then you know they won a close game
last year twenty six, twenty five. I think a lot
of people are going to hold that against them. What
I would say is, while that game is something to
keep in mind going into this one, what people need
to understand is that Matthew Stafford has a horrible career

(26:43):
box score, whatever you want to call it. His splits
against Wink Martin Dale's defenses have been terrible. I don't
know why, he just has his number. So Matthew Stafford
might be facing a team that calls himself New York
when they actually are in New Jersey. But what I
will say is that Matthew Stafford is not going up
against Wank Martindale. He's going up against Olbrick, Jeff Olbrich,

(27:08):
who's the interim head coach that is not the same defense,
not the same scheme, not the same type of thing
that you know he saw last year. In that game,
Kyron toted the rock twenty times for eighty seven yards
three touchdowns. Wouldn't be surprised if we saw that again.
Poogoakua ran the ball twice for nineteen yards. Who go

(27:31):
to Coua caught the ball five times for one hundred
and eighteen had an eighty yard play. DeMarcus Robinson caught
six passes for ninety two. Tyler Higbee, Yes, who's returning
by the way. Higbee caught six passes for sixty two yards.
Cooper Cup caught four for twenty seven and found the
end zone. Kind of I kind of feel like he's

(27:53):
gonna do that again. Seven catches seventy yards in a touchdown,
I think. But I think he'll find the end zone.
But Alexis, I think this is going to be a
thirty one to twenty four game. I think the Jets
might even take control at some point in the game.
It is going to be a nail bier, But I
think the Rams pull away at the end. I almost

(28:14):
gave away like a little thing there, so I'm not
going to but thirty one.

Speaker 1 (28:18):
It wouldn't be an episode if you weren't like sneaking
in one of your predictions in your score monologue.

Speaker 3 (28:24):
Yeah, but like the the Cooper cups seven for seventy
and a touchdown is not a bold prediction. That's just like, yeah, fair.

Speaker 1 (28:32):
So I'm on the same page. I think the Rams
are going to win this one. I have twenty three seventeen. Okay,
you know it's cold. You know, I do think that
the Jets are are better than maybe their record is,
you know, that offense, especially if you know Breist Hall plays,
you know kind of how we know he can play,
and you know you've got Adams and Garrett Wilson or

(28:53):
just great receivers, and you know you've got Aaron Rodgers.
So you know, I think it'll be close. I think
that the what I think that it's probably going to
start off pretty ugly. You know. I don't think that
this is going to be you know, that exciting of
the game. We'll see. But you know, I think I
think the Rams pulled off twenty three seventeen, and I

(29:14):
think that you know, it's going to be close. You know,
I think it's going to go back and forth. I
think it's going to be fun to watch, and I
think we're going to get our way at the end
in terms of, like, you know, we're not going to
watch a blowout, you know. I think it is going
to be, you know, pretty back and forth. But Jake,
going into our bold predictions, now that we have established

(29:34):
that we think the Rams are going to win, what
are your three predictions for this Sunday?

Speaker 3 (29:41):
So I think you're like the third one I'm going
to have, But all right, let's do this.

Speaker 1 (29:45):
Your third one is probably my first one.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
No, it's it's actually not because I don't even think
that you'll come up with it. Oh yeah, So the
first one, it's written in the stars.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
I'm gonna be there.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
Number four a Kella Witherspoon is going to get an interception.

Speaker 3 (30:04):
It's gonna happen. Yeah, So that's the first one.

Speaker 2 (30:09):
Second one, Tyler Higbee is going to be a factor
in this game. I got him five catches, sixty two
yards and a score. The last time Tyler Higbee went
up against the Jets twenty twenty, he had a touchdown.
He was their leading receiver that day and had a

(30:30):
crazy spin move that we never saw before. And you know,
he had a bunch of really key catches that brought
them back in that game, they were down like twenty
to three.

Speaker 3 (30:40):
In that one they lost twenty three to twenty.

Speaker 2 (30:43):
And then the third and final one, Kyron Williams will
score the game winning touchdown. It's going to be a
thirty plus yard rushing touchdown to win the game.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
Hey, we would all love to see it, you know,
so long as the Rams win. But yeah, I like
all those predictions, you know, getting into mind. My first
one is I think Karen Williams is going to have
two touchdowns and one hundred yards rushing. I think he's
gonna have a very good day, you know. I again,

(31:15):
we'll see, But I that's my first one. Second one
I mentioned. I alluded to this earlier a little bit,
you know, I said, Cooper Cup, right, I know that
everybody you know who isn't a Rams fan is absolutely furious,
you know, either furious or kind of making fun of
his Thursday night football statline as if he didn't do
so much else during the game that was important and valuable. So,

(31:40):
you know, I think Cooper Cup is gonna have a big,
big day. I think he's gonna have over one hundred
yards receiving. Defensive prediction, I think Jared Versus is gonna
have two sacks. I think he's gonna get the better
of that rookie and rookie matchup that we know he's
gonna have against Vishanu on Sunday. I don't know that

(32:00):
he's gonna get both of them against him particularly, but
I think that Jared Versus gonna have a big game.
So I don't know if any of those predictions were
super bold, But yeah, I've got two Kyra Williams touchdowns,
Cooper Cup over one hundred yards receiving, and two Jared
Versus sacks. But the good news is, regardless of if
I get those right or wrong, we're both on the
same page at the Rams are gonna win.

Speaker 3 (32:23):
They are.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
Oh and it's not a bold one because he's just
gotten to this point, but Pooka Aku is going over
one hundred yards.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
It's not not bold like.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
You have to see it.

Speaker 3 (32:33):
It's it's it's just.

Speaker 2 (32:34):
Not bold, like I just assume even in games where
he does nothing the whole game, he gets a fifty
yard catch, Now it's like, oh, yeah, he had ninety
something yards. It's like, yeah, that's Pookinakua. He just always
finds a way. So that's how I see that. But yeah,
should be a fun game. I got a lot of
respect for the Jets. I covered them for a year.

(32:56):
I got a lot of respect for their fan base.
I think they're great fans. They deserve better than Woody Johnson. Yes,
I said, Woody Johnson. He is holding that entire organization
back incompetition satisfies.

Speaker 1 (33:09):
It almost was like it was one of those things
where that report came out and I'm like, which, which
parody account wrote this? And then it's no, it's like
literal news. If you guys are listening, didn't know the
Jets owner basically was making free agency decisions based on
people's Madden ratings, and he was bringing his fifteen and

(33:29):
seventeen year old son into team meetings and like taking
their input on decisions. Like it just Woody Johnson has
been that way, I think, just in whatever. But like
to hear these specific reports about him was not surprising,
but still disheartening. As like a fan, You're just like.

Speaker 3 (33:46):
I just feel bad for Jets fans. They deserve the world.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
They're amazing fans, they really are there's gonna be plenty
of them at the game, and you're gonna be like,
why are you at the game?

Speaker 3 (33:57):
They're four and ten.

Speaker 2 (33:58):
And what I would say is this, okay, Woody Johnson
at one point, uh way back when he joined the
presidential cabinet.

Speaker 3 (34:08):
When you have.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
Fans hoping that your owner leaves to join the presidential cabinet,
so he's not the active owner, that's how you know
the owner's not good.

Speaker 3 (34:19):
It's that sod he is.

Speaker 1 (34:22):
And I know bad owners. I live in the city
of Chicago, and you know the organization.

Speaker 3 (34:28):
I thought of you did you see that meme?

Speaker 4 (34:31):
It's like literally just hell and it's like and then
like on the bus or whatever, it's like what like
you know, all this paraphernalia from like the Bulls and
the Bears and the White Sox and the Cubs.

Speaker 1 (34:42):
Yeah, it's I know, I know shitty owners, you know,
being in the city of Chicago, and I can confidently
say that Woody Johnson uh fits the bill.

Speaker 3 (34:51):
I mean, he's the worst owner in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (34:54):
Yeah, I feel I feel bad for their fans, but
but you know, I hope that their fans do feel
bad about a loss on Sunday.

Speaker 3 (35:00):
Yes, well, I hope they that helps you because then
they can get a higher draft.

Speaker 1 (35:05):
Pick correct and you know, maybe they can start to
turn things around over there. But guys, that's going to
do it. Jake and I are predicting a RAMS win.
I appreciate everybody for tuning.

Speaker 3 (35:15):
In real quick. I have to highlight this because you'll
get a kick out of this.

Speaker 2 (35:23):
Right, a Peruvian shaman for their next head coach. Fun fact,
I think that their next head coach is going to
be Mike for abel So and that's who.

Speaker 3 (35:34):
It should be.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
Yeah, that would make a lot of sense for them.
But yeah, I mean, Aaron Rodgers and Woody Johnson have
been in the news for all the you know reasons
not football related, and I think the fans are just
you know, hearing that report about Woody Johnson, They're just like,
are you for real right now? Like this?

Speaker 2 (35:52):
And they're not even surprised. That's the sad thing, Like
you notice how they reacted. No one is surprised. So
do not lose to a team with an owner who
is literally deciding based on Madgin ratings when first off,
the video game isn't any good. They don't know how
to rate anybody, and it's also a video game. Please

(36:19):
don't lose to this team. And by the way, Deb,
I'm with you. If they lose this game, I'm I'm
banning myself from going to a Rams game.

Speaker 3 (36:29):
How about that?

Speaker 1 (36:30):
Yeah, if they lose this game, we know that Jake's
to blame.

Speaker 2 (36:34):
After having such a great track record. They're not losing, well,
they're not.

Speaker 1 (36:43):
I am on the same page the guys who as
We're gonna let you guys go. It's Friday night. We
appreciate everybody tuning in so last minute late. If there's
anybody that's going to be watching the college football playoff game,
I'm going to turn it on, you know after this.
Obviously I'm a Notre Dame fan, so I want to
watch that. They're up fourteen to nothing, so hopefully they

(37:04):
can keep this momentum going. But whatever you're doing on
this Friday night, please stay safe, you know, have a
make good decisions, and we'll see you next week. I
think we're going to be recording Jake and I talked about.
I think on the twenty six will be the next
time we're back. Because I'm traveling for Christmas. Jake's got
Christmas stuff going on, so we know that you all

(37:27):
are going to be in your holiday season, so whatever
you're doing, I hope that you guys have a safe
and fun holiday spent with those you love. We'll be
back soon, but until then, stay safe, take care, and
go Rams.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
