Speaker 1 (00:01):
All right, guys, welcome back to Downtown Rams. As always,
I'm Alexis Kraft. Join here with my cost Jake ellen Bogan.
We're coming to you with a live episode previewing our
Los Angeles Rams matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles this upcoming
Sunday in Philadelphia. And Jake, this is a team that
by now we're pretty familiar with. We've matched up against them.

(00:22):
This will be the third time in the past two seasons,
and it's going to be intense. It always is when
we match up against them. They're a very good team
that the reigning Super Bowl champions. Jake, what is your
vibe heading into this Sunday.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
My vibe heading into this Sunday, Alexis, is that I
feel really good about the state of the Rams right now.
I understand they have some injuries. Number four behind me
is not going to play in this game, and that
is really unfortunate. But I think they've they've already found
a lot and it's early on and I think that
run game is only going to get better over the
course of the year. I still think they're adjusting, you know,

(00:58):
Kyron Williams, Blake Korum not really used to seeing guys
in the box. They normally don't stack the box against
the Rams, and Kyra Williams has seen a lot more
guys stacked in the box, eight nine guys, So you know,
I think they're still adjusting that run game. The good
news is the blocking looks really good, so I think
it's just a matter of the running backs adjusting to that.

(01:19):
In addition to that, the wide receiver room looks great.
They've barely used two too out well, and you can
already see him making an impact with you know, as
the clearout guy. You see Jordan Winnington catching a forty
yard pass last week. You see what he can do
in the return game. You see Xavier Smith catching a
thirty six yard pass. You see Kannata Moumfield getting reps right.

(01:39):
So there's a lot of good And then on top
of that, we haven't really seen Terrence Ferguson yet. You know,
they haven't really opened up the playbook for him. They
really haven't opened up for Tyler Higbee. I mean he
just caught his first pass in week two. Then you
look at the defense and Alexis they have given up
one touchdown on twenty drives. So it's a five percent
you know, hit rate, and that is a really good

(02:01):
defense right there. They're getting pressure interior on the outside
against tackles. Their linebacker play is better, they're better against
the run, and they have been absolute money in coverage.
So this team, they're number one in explosive offensive plays,
they're number one the league in points allowed per game

(02:22):
at fourteen, and they're number two in defensive value over average.
So I feel really good about this team heading into
Philadelphia against an Eagles team that, quite honestly, I think
this is the time to play them. They're not their
best and you know, we've been seeing the Eagles are
struggling to put up points, and if the Rams put
some pressure on the Eagles early on, I don't know

(02:42):
if the Eagles in this current form are going to
be able to keep up with the Rams scoring. So
it's a really interesting spot. It's a great place to
be in if you're a Rams fan. I can't wait
for this Sunday.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Yeah, you bring up a really good point. I think
this is the best time to face this Eagles team
early on in the season. It's only we three, still
getting things ironed out a little bit, and the Eagles
haven't looked the same to start the season. You know,
I don't you know, there's a phrase called Super Bowl hangover.
I don't think that's fair to apply to the Eagles
at all. I see some people saying that, listen, they're
still to and oh, they took down the Chiefs, you know,

(03:16):
which I think a lot of people expected them to do.
But in theory, it's still like a really good team, right.
They've got really really good guys on their team, A
lot of good guys. I mean, listen, Sakwon Berkley the
best running back in the league in my opinion, you know,
when he's healthy. You know, Jalen Hurts is a very
good player. You got aj Brown of on to Smith.
You know, You've got a team full of really really
good players. And I think that this is a really

(03:39):
good time to match up with them. And as Rams
fans are familiar, we were pretty close with them in
that playoff game. You know, last season. It's very painful
for you know, a lot of us. Still, you know,
it was a great game to watch as a football fan.
I'm sure as a Rams fan maybe not so much
in the end. But you know what, I give a

(03:59):
lot of credit to the Eagles, and we're going to
talk a lot about their team tonight and what our
matchup is against them. But obviously you know this is
a team that is worthy of their flowers and that
we should take very seriously. So we're going to do that. Jake,
let's start by talking about our offense against their defense,
because our offense, I think is something that last game

(04:22):
we started to see really get into the flow of things.
Because week one, we struggled first half right offensively, wasn't
really there. Then we end up picking it up in
the second half a little bit, and it was still
only fourteen points on the board. A lot of people
had questions, why is this Rams offense with all these
stars only putting up fourteen points. Then we go into
week two kind of the same story, but then we

(04:43):
had some injuries on the offensive line. Things were really
weird in the first half. Then we started to see
better flow the second half against the Titans and we
end up winning thirty three to nineteen. So it was
much much different story there. And we see our two
wide receivers, Jake DeVante Adams and Nikua having monster games,
and in my opinion, and I believe in your opinion,

(05:05):
as well. This is one of the best wide receiver
duos in the league. You know, I think that they
should be named up there. You know, you hear our opponent,
the Philadelphia Eagles. You talk about a j Brown and Smith, Right,
what about Nikua and Adams? I think they should be
up there as well. And we saw they had really
big games, both of them against the Titans. So I
think they're only going to heat up. And I think
that chemistry between Stafford and Adams is only going to

(05:27):
ramp up further as we get further on in the season. Jake,
looking at this and you know, looking at the run game,
because again this is a big story. I think last
week and you made a really good point about the
run game, it was different, I thought. I thought the
Titans did a pretty good job actually most of the
game shutting down the run. But what do you think

(05:50):
looking at all the players on offense should be our
focal point going into a matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles,
who have some big names. Jalen Carter is one, right,
Nolan Smith, They've got a really good linebacker rookie who
everybody knows. I really really want it on the rams,
Yodd Campbell out of Alabama who's been playing great. I

(06:11):
knew he would, but you know he's up the league. Yeah,
great player, great pickup. What do you think should be
the focal point for the Rams going against this talented
Philadelphia Eagles.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Yeah? I think the Rams are going to go heavy
twelve personnel in this game because I think they are
going to try and establish the run. When you establish
the run against the team that is you're expecting to
stop the run, good things happen right now if you're
going out there to establish the run against the team
that's really good at stopping the run, and say you
end up doing it, Say you end up getting Kyra

(06:48):
and Williams. He's averaging four point five yards of carry.
That's good enough, by the way, to establish the run.
Say you know Blake corm averaging four point two something
like that, Right, those guys are Now that run has
to be And now that that's respected, it opens up
the play action, passing attack and Matthew Stafford see a
lot of people don't understand what's happening here. You watch

(07:09):
the film and it tells everything. Matthew Stafford is getting
pressured about as much as he's ever been. But guess what.
He's getting rid of the ball quicker than he's ever
gotten rid of it. And that's what's keeping the Rams
afloat really and not just a float. I mean they're rolling.
They're number one in explosive plays. Matthew Stafford. People will

(07:31):
disagree with me. He looks like the best quarterback in
the NFL right now. He does. You can make any throw,
any arm angle. He's got multiple arm slots. Sounds like
I'm talking about a damn pitcher, you know. But Stafford
has just been different and you see it, and I
mean we kind of expected it, right, I mean, he
was pissed off, like a lot of these guys were
about the way last year, and they're fourteen yards away Alexis,

(07:53):
despite the fact they gave up over two hundred yards
to say Kwon Barkley, there were fourteen yards away from
waining that game. In a bliz. Matthew Stafford through three
hundred and twenty plus yards in that game, three hundred
and twenty Jalen Hurts had one hundred and one passing
yards last week in a September game, right, So that's
really what we're looking at here, is that Matthew Stafford's

(08:14):
getting rid of the ball quickly. They're on a mission.
They have DeVante Adams, a true X receiver that is
going to be able to beat any sort of man coverage,
and then you have Pookin Akua, who's the ultimate zone beater.
And what I mean by that for people that don't understand, is,
you know, you run Cover three and guess what. The
Rams run it forty something percent of the time and
the Eagles run it a hell of a whole lot

(08:36):
because that is a big staple of Vic Fangio's defense,
which of course the Rams defense is basically derived from.
And so you run, you know that Cover three a
lot you're in You're in zone coverage a lot. When
you're in zone coverage, you know, and you get these
linebackers out there. You want to see a Jahad Campbell

(08:58):
on Pookin Akua, right, because that is a mismatch, even
as great as Jahad Campbell's played. And that's the thing
I think the Rams are gonna be focused on that.
You want to get Pooka Nakua out there, get him,
you know, find the soft spot in his own and
then he's a running back when he gets the ball
in his hands, So I think that's how they're gonna
attack him. They're gonna be in twelve personnel, I think

(09:18):
a lot. But then I think once they open up
the play action and passing attack, then they'll just open
up the regular passing attack. We'll probably see out of
the gun a little bit. We'll see our eleven personnel
that you know, obviously Sean McVay is known for, uh,
so we'll see I think this is a big game
Alexis because when you you look at cover three, how
do you attack Cover three? The flats and the seams?

(09:41):
And I think you're gonna see a slot fade or
slot go, whatever you wanna call it with two two
out Well, I think at Well is going to have
a really big game this week because they've barely used him.
The tape hasn't really been put out there what they're
gonna do. And I think that's the thing when you're
wondering why a Terrence Ferguson hasn't been used, You're wondering
why to two out Well only has one catch, You're wondering

(10:03):
all these things. They can win games and they know that,
but against a team like the Eagles, a team they're
likely going to face in the postseason. They I mean,
this is a very important game because these are the
two best teams I believe in the NFC, and if
you don't believe it, then their top three with the Packers.
They got to win this game to have that tie breaker.

(10:25):
And guess what if you need to win this game
and have that tie breaker, well it's time to pull
out some of the stops. And I think at well,
you saw last week Taekwon Thornton what he can do
you know against this secondary. I have said it all
off season when it comes to the Eagles, you can
throw on this secondary. They let Darius Lego, they let
Chauncey Gardner, Johnson go h Daniel Sorenson isn't out there

(10:47):
in the secondary like the Chiefs had, right, but they
have their own Daniel Sorenson a liability and that right
there is Reid Blankenship. You can throw on him. So
and don't get me started with Dorry Jackson. So I
think this is a really good opportunity for the Rams
to continue doing what they're doing and add a little
bit more of sizzle to this offense.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
Yeah, and I agree, and you know, looking at this
Eagles defense. I mean my instinct, and you know, kind
of looking at the stats for them for the last
two games, is I think the Rams should throw on them.
And I think that you've brought up a good point.
I think it's important to establish the run early, see
what you can get, show that you can do it.
But when I'm looking at this Eagles defense, I am

(11:28):
way more concerned about their defensive front and the middle
of their defense than I am about their secondary. I
think Matthew Stafford could air it out against the secondary.
I think you could get Akua involved, that you get
Adams involved, this might be the game. Pull out Terrence Ferguson,
see what he can do right, get to two out, Well,
those those touches. Get Jordan Wintington involved more. I mean,

(11:49):
you look at the box score from the last game, Jake.
I mean you've got Pukinaku with eight receptions, Adams with six,
Higbee with four. Then you've got Whittington with two, Kien
Williams with two, Davis Allen and Davis Allen with one.
I mean you're feeding the ball mostly to Pukanakua and
Devonte Adams, which is fine, right, obviously great receivers, but
I'd like to see more people get involved and see

(12:10):
what they can do. And especially looking at this Eagles defense,
and you know, with the respect that I think their
defensive front and middle, the middle of their defense deserves
air it out. I would love to see it. I'm
not saying don't run the ball. I just think we're
going to struggle more in the run game against this
defense than we will with their secondary. I see in
the comments, Alfredo made a really good comment where he said,

(12:30):
I don't believe the Rams will win if they play conservative.
I agree. I think this is probably the game against
the Super Bowl champion Eagles to get creative offensively and
really go for it because I think, you know, you
don't want to waste part of your game trying to
figure out how to beat Jalen Carter, right, I mean,
you want to you want to sling it, you want

(12:51):
to throw the ball. So that's what I'm hoping the
Rams will do, and that's what I expect they should do.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Oh, I definitely agree with that, and I think they
are going to be able to throw the ball. I know,
you know, Dak, you saw what happened with Ceedee Lamb,
And again I mentioned Taekwon Thornton because he's not anybody
that's like a world beat or anything. But hey, you
know you know that speed, Well guess what all was
at speed? So yeah, I think the the thing that's
really telling it is just how dominant Ceedee Lamb was

(13:19):
at getting open and he dropped like three passes, so
he he wrecked them and still you know, left a
lot on the field. Phokakua, Davonte AM's doesn't really matter.
One of those guys is going to go off. I
do tend to believe that to to Atwell is going
to be a huge benefactor of that. But I also
think that Phokakua is going to have a day. So yeah,

(13:41):
and I do think this game is gonna be close.
So let me just make that clear. I don't think
this is going to be a blowout by any stretch.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was on either side, right,
But I am not predicting a blowout. I just think this.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
I just think this offense just needs to continue to
do with they do. And alexis if they figure out
the run game this week, well that's the run game
that they have against a really good Colt scene, that's
the run game that they have against a really good
Ravens team on the road. That's the run game that
they have against the forty nine ers in their first
meeting of the season on Thursday, and football. So they're
only going to get better. And that's the thing is

(14:17):
that this is kind of a younger team, but the
young guys that they have, they're acting as if they're
veterans because that's what they are. You have a Kobe Turner,
he's a captain, right, so you know they have a
lot of young guys on this roster. But like a
guy like Kyron Williams being captain this early on in
his career, I mean that goes to show you what
they have. So it's been an exciting launch. I really

(14:40):
am going to be curious to see how they do
against a Jalen Carter in the interior because you know,
we saw him wreck the game, you know, in January.
And I'll be honest, Coleman Shelton or Bo Limmer, neither
of them are going to be guys that are physically
imposing when it comes to a Jalen Carter, So they
are going to have step up. They are going to

(15:01):
have a plan. They're they're going to have to have
a plan. I am expecting to have a lot of
duo blocking, you know, but but we'll see what ends
up happening, because I do think there are different ways
to attack this Eagles defense. And regardless, if the offense
line can't hold up, the good news is Matthew Stafford
is getting rid of the ball so quickly it doesn't

(15:21):
even matter.

Speaker 1 (15:23):
Yeah, I mean, I think, you know, this defensive front
certainly something to look out for. Jalen Carter obviously, you know,
the leader of that, and that's a little bit why
I think I've been a little bit hesitant about the
run game in this game. But yeah, I mean, I
think anything as possible. I know that the Rams are
prepared for this and everything that we've said, I'm sure
that they're aware of. But it'll be interesting to see.

(15:46):
And you know, as you mentioned earlier, and I'm on
the same page, you know, I think that the Rams
and the Eagles are the top two teams in the NFC,
So this will be a really really fun matchup, particularly
I think watching these offenses play. But let's turned to
the defense, Jake, because looking at this Philadelphia Eagles offense.
As I mentioned earlier, a lot of stars Saquon Barkley,

(16:07):
Jalen Hurts, A J. Brown, DeVante Smith or DeVonta Smith.
You know, Dallas Goddard is out I believe right. Did
I see that? I tried to look before it in Live?
Oh is he okay?

Speaker 2 (16:19):
So he maybe you're right. I didn't. I didn't see that.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
I really like him. I feel like he's a uh okay,
henna cool. Well he's well not yeah cool, because I
don't like injuries.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
Uh, I like them just playing against their best. I don't.
I don't want any excuses. I just don't. So well.
He's also.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
Goddard is a very underrated tight end in my opinion.
I've always really liked watching him play throughout his career,
so you know, he's obviously a weapon. May have got
out there. I mean Jalen Hurts, the guy at quarterback.
I mean, he he's you know, somebody who you know
has hurt the Rams and we've played him him in
the past, so he's somebody to look out for. Jake,

(17:03):
what do you think is going to be the Eagles
game plan going against our defense? Do you think they're
going to try to get Saquon Barkley involved as much
as they can. Knowing what Barkley has been able to
do against us, you know in the past, do you
think that they're going to resort to trying to air
the ball out? When you look at our defensive front,
which has been playing very, very well, what do you

(17:25):
think they're going to do? Because I haven't really I
don't know that I have a firm opinion about this.
A little bit of a question mark for me. With
a team that is as solid as the.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
Eagles, well, I can tell you what they're going to
do because we don't really need to know if they're
going to run it or throw it or how often.
We just know that they're going to try to maximize
and get every opportunity to get to those third and
short opportunities. Right if you know second and four, if
they live in that territory, then they can bleed the clock.
They can take over the game. They could be boring,

(17:57):
but they're taking over the game because they have the clock.
They they also have, you know, the defense in their
back pocket. Because now as great of a defense as
the Rams have, well, how great are they going to
be if they're gassed and They're on the field for
forty minutes of the game, right, so that is really
their goal. When you look at Saquon Barkley, I think
it's very clear teams are absolutely loading up the box

(18:21):
for him. I don't expect it to be any different
against the Rams. With that said, though, AJ Brown has
tormented Emmanuel Forbes in his career, So if Forbes does
end up playing, and I don't know how much he's
gonna play, I still think they go with Darius Williams,
Kobe Durant and then they throw Forbes in there a
little bit. But that's something to keep in mind because
AJ Brown has tormented him and DeVante Smith, and so

(18:46):
you look these two, they haven't really gotten going. This
feels like a game that they might try and maybe
over the top, try and get Hurts going and get
AJ Brown going. I saw a stat today Hurts hasn't
had a pass beyond nineteen year, arn'ts so this year.
So I understand it's only two games, but they just
really haven't felt like he's in a position where they

(19:07):
need him to throw. And I think the Rams are
really gonna have to force those throws because this is
a team that can take the ball away. I know
they don't do it all the time, but I think
the takeaways are incoming. I think they're We're going to
see more interceptions. I think the fumbles have been there
for sure, but we're going to see more interceptions, I
think moving forward. And I would not be surprised that

(19:28):
Jalen Hurts has to throw in this game and he
ends up throwing a pick. So we'll see what ends
up happening. And it is worth mentioning by the way
Steve Avula on the offensive side ankle, he's doubtful, Braydon
Fisk is actually questionable with an oblique and then Kolby
Parkinson is questionable with the shoulder. But that's an interesting

(19:48):
one because, uh, you know, Braidon Fist didn't really play
a ton last week. I think he had like thirteen snaps,
so he was dealing with it.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
Then.

Speaker 2 (19:55):
I was really impressed when the snaps I saw from
Tyler Davis. I'm just gonna say it right, I was.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
Too, So I was I was impressed by Tyler Davis
as well, you know. But obviously, you know, Braden Fisk
would be a huge loss if he's not able to go,
especially because I agree with you in the sense of,
you know, forcing Jalen Hurts to have to throw the
ball and see what he can do. I don't know
that he's really had to do that this season, and
I think that the Rams are capable and listen, I

(20:21):
know that we have, you know, a big injury in
the secondary right for us. Wetherspoon's out, you got durant
In and let's let's get some takeaways. We've seen it
before from guys in the secondary. I think it's absolutely
possible against the Eagles, and because the Eagles are such
a good team. You know, as we've said throughout this episode,
turnovers could make or break this game. Quite literally. It

(20:44):
might come down to, you know, defenses having to step
up our defense their defense. So yeah, I think that
putting the pressure on Jalen Hurts and then doing the
best that you can to contain Saquon Barkley are probably
the two biggest things for me looking at ways to
shut down on this Philadelphia Eagles offense. I mean, Hurts
and Barkley. If if you can make them uncomfortable, I

(21:05):
think you're setting yourself up, you know, for as best
as you can. And we know that a guy like
Jared Verse, who has a treacherous history with the Philadelphia
Eagles out of respect by the way, it is a
very respectful rivalry. Uh you know, I know he's gonna
be amped up, you know, heading heading into this game

(21:25):
as well, because I think his first two games he's
gotten very close to getting some sacks and I know
that he's hungry for some and then Byron Young continuing
to build off the success that he's had this season, Jake,
I mean, he he's making a statement as someone who
wants to get paid. I think that Byron Young hasad
everything that he needs to do in the situation that
he's in right now. And it's been so fun watching

(21:46):
him on this defensive line and then seeing you know,
Kobe Turner out there. Hopefully we can get Braden Fisk
out there and he's good to go. I'm very, very
excited to see this defense on side.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
I will say that, yeah, no, I am too. And
I'm just so excited for this game because this is
regardless of a winner or loss. It just shows you
where the Rams are in week three. And it's just
week three, So if they look good, then that's obviously
great because they're going to get better. If they look bad,
it's okay because they're gonna get better. But you're really

(22:24):
this idea that you get to see what they are
this early on in the year against a real team,
I mean the Texans. That was a real tough test,
it really was, and they should have won that game
by ten more than they ended up scoring. Right, So
you look at that, you look at how they totally
didn't give Kayra and his touchdown that he earned at
the end of that game against the Titans. You know,

(22:45):
they could easily have scored forty in that forty plus.
But I think it's a big deal. And so you know,
when I look at the way you know, the Rams
are currently playing, I see a lot of good and
the things that are concern they are a concern, but
they're not as much of a concern as years past
because they have other ways to, you know, essentially get

(23:09):
around that. And so I look like in a Kello Witherspoon, right,
he can shut down one side of the field, he's
out and that is a big deal. Like, let's just
be honest, it's a big deal. Now they have to
kind of change what they're doing. They're gonna have to
blitz more. They're gonna have to get more creative. Chris
Shula is gonna have to go into his bag of tricks.
But with that said, Chris Shula is gonna have to

(23:29):
go in his bag of tricks. He can do that. Uh,
they have the depth to make this. It's still gonna
sting to not have a Killow and that size because
that size allows him to go up against aj Brown
one on one and really nobody else on the roster
is gonna allow that. But that said, they have what
Sean Ivay called four starting cornerbacks and one of them
went down. He still have three, and the Rams aren't

(23:53):
really rolling with three starting cornerbacks. That the third starting
cornerback the slot is actually the star and that is
Quinton Lake. So that's really the thing is is there
a lot deeper you know in that regard. But yeah,
it's definitely gonna be a fun game. There's a lot

(24:14):
at stake early on because this is also the tiebreaker.
As brutal as that sounds like, yeah, you know, no
big deal. Week three could decide whether or not you
have the one seed at the end of the year,
but yeah, huge game Philadelphia. Not long after you know,
it really isn't the same calendar year as when you lost,
and the Rams are pissed off. But you know why,

(24:35):
I think that, you know, you should be so confident
in them. Look at the way that they just focused
on the task at hand against the Titans. Did that
look like a team that overlooked the Titans. No, they
knew what the Titans were, they knew that they were
gonna be a tough defense, and they had respect for
cam Ward. So they're a team that's not looking ahead
and I think that bodes well for them on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
Well, Jake, on that note, you think it's going to
bode well for them on Sunday. Let's get into maybe
some predictions that we have with some help, Yes, so
some help, some friends, So we got Sleeper.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
Shout out to Sleeper as always for sponsoring this video
and every video on the channel. You can add on
over to Sleeper use my code JK Bogan and when
you use that code you can get a one hundred
percent match up to one hundred dollars, So definitely be

(25:35):
sure to do that. But yeah, we're going to bring
this thing up and I don't really know what's going
on here. We're trying to share it.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
Jake. Jake has had a lot of check issues today
and I want to let everyone know. I'm so excited
to let people know.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
Jake. Yeah, let him know, let him know.

Speaker 1 (25:54):
It was Jake's fault.

Speaker 2 (25:55):
We were like, this is true. Well look at that's the.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
Kind of like it because Jake got new technology. So
I know that it's kind of maybe not fair. But
we were late to start the show. And normally it
is because I'm having tech issues, but this week it
was because Jake is. So I just want that to
go on the record, and Jake confirmed it. It's the truth,

(26:21):
It's true, but it's okay. So it looks like the
phone thing isn't working.

Speaker 2 (26:26):
Yeah, it's not working because and I told you this,
but I wasn't able to upgrade it to iOS twenty
six on the new computer because if I did, DTR
would have started at ten. So so we'll do that update,
of course after this show. But with that said, the

(26:48):
show must go on. And again, you guys really do
need to check out link in the description. Day sponsored
Sleeper again one hundred dollars deposit matchup to one hundred
dollars use my coach JKB and Alexis. I have some
stuff here so I can actually this. This is the
tricky part. But without the update, I can see the phone, right,

(27:12):
I just can't mirror it. So we're gonna have to
go over this. Give me something here, Matthew Stafford two
twenty four and a half more or less passing yards.

Speaker 1 (27:30):
If things go my way more.

Speaker 2 (27:31):
I'm gonna go more.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
Talk about earlier, I think, yeah, I think that they
really are gonna be able to air the ball out.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
How about this, Kyle h Yeah, Kyra Williams sixty three
and a half more or less.

Speaker 1 (27:45):
You know, I'm nervous about this run game a little bit,
and I think it's tough because in a normal game,
I would say more. But there's two things. One, it's
this Eagles defense I think is going to be really

(28:05):
focused on stopping the run. And also I think that
Kiren is going to be splitting more carries this week. Maybe,
depending on how the rams.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
I'm probably gonna say avoid this one.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
Yeah, maybe just don't include it.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
Sixty three and a half is yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
It's a little either way.

Speaker 2 (28:28):
I like Korum though, fifteen and a half and he's
gonna get more carries I'll go more on that one.

Speaker 1 (28:34):
That's a that's such a low number.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
I know Puka is high at eighty and a half
receiving yards. I'll take more on Puka. Wow, I think
he'll all have one hundred. What say you? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (28:49):
I think so.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
So aside from that, not sure. Davante Addams sixty two
and a half.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
Do they have any Atwell props?

Speaker 2 (29:05):
As far as at Well for the plays? They do
not have anything for Atwell. So I'm just gonna cry
in a corner now, don't mind me.

Speaker 1 (29:17):
Grummer, because that this would be this would be the
week that I would take.

Speaker 2 (29:20):
At Well anytime touchdown at Well. I do feel like
he's gonna beat him over the top, So I'll go
with at Well. I think Whittington and Atwell catch touchdowns
in this game. Eighty eight problems.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
And problems.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
Too too. At Well wearing Jalen Ramsey's number. I slip
not over that you have a.

Speaker 1 (29:47):
Do they have Jalen Hurts interception?

Speaker 2 (29:54):
I can use it on my phone here because it's
not scrolling, all right, let's see so interception? Yes, you
like that?

Speaker 1 (30:09):
I'd take more? Is it more?

Speaker 2 (30:17):
Yep?

Speaker 1 (30:18):
Someone in the comments said Alan touchdown again.

Speaker 2 (30:21):
I mean, if the shoe fits, this is the tight
end anytime touchdown queen over here.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
Yeah, if you guys remember or no, I love touchdown
tight end props like tight end touchdown props. I should
say I always have tight end touchdown parlays and I
always do very well, not always, but most of the
time do very well with them.

Speaker 2 (30:48):
Yeah. Well, I don't know if I'm gonna go with
David Allen again. I think that's that we're pushing our
luck there. We'll let him score the touchdown. But guys
be sure to check out sleeper link is in the description.
But hell low and use code jk bo JKB as always.
All right, So now we got our bold predictions here, ladies,

(31:12):
first bold predictions.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
H let me let me think here. So, I don't
know if it's that bold. I was gonna say, Poka
Nikua over one hundred yards?

Speaker 2 (31:27):
Is that?

Speaker 1 (31:28):
I mean we just talked about that though, so I
feel like that's not as interesting. But like, I think
Pukanuku is gonna have a very big game, and like
I said earlier, I think the Rams are gonna have
a really good opportunity to air the ball out. I
think that that's going to be the game for this
But I think Nukua is gonna have a really big game.
So I'm gonna say pokin Akua over one hundred yards.
Maybe it's not that bold because he's pokin Akua any
rocks h and we just talked about this, but I'll

(31:53):
say that. Second prediction. Let's do a defensive one. You
know what, I'm gonna say, Kobe Durant interception. He's stepping in,
he's stepping up. Guys, we just talked about how Jalen
Hurts is going to be forced to throw the ball.
Let's say that Kobe Durant interception. Last and last prediction,

(32:16):
Let's say what would be a fun one? What would
be a fun one? So I don't want to give
in to I don't want to give away my score prediction,
but I'm going to kind of nope, I don't want
to get away away should you do? Let's say you

(32:40):
know what, I'm gonna say at well over fifty yards
because I think we're going to see some long plays
to that well, as we alluded to earlier.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
I like that. I mean I'm gonna go further. I'm
gonna say over one hundred.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
Oh okay, yeah, I see, I did pooka over a hundred.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
Though, I'll do at well over one hundred. I'll do
Emmanuel Forbes interception and hmm, what do I want to
go with? We got at one hundred Forbes interception. I'm

(33:32):
going to say, hm, hmm, two sack day, not from first,
not from Byron Young, but from the rookie Josiah Stewart.

Speaker 1 (33:50):
Love it. I think they're going to see that journey.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
They're going to rotate him around, they might bring him
in in a cheat a package. Look, and I just
I really like where we're at on him. So that
is what I am going to go with. So final
score prediction, do you want me to go first? Or
do you want to go first?

Speaker 1 (34:15):
Whatever your heart desires.

Speaker 2 (34:17):
Okay, however you feel twenty four to twenty one rams.

Speaker 1 (34:22):
No way, that's mine.

Speaker 2 (34:23):
Really Yeah, it's just a twenty four to twenty one game.
I don't know what else to say. Yeah, it feels
like twenty four to twenty one.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
No that that's just like that was That's what my
gut has been this entire week is twenty four to one.
And earlier when I alluded to the my bold prediction.
I think that Cardi is going to kick a game
winner the end of the fourth.

Speaker 2 (34:47):
I think the Rams, And this is going to sound crazy,
So I think the Rams are gonna be up twenty
four to fourteen, and I think the Eagles are going
to get a actually a garbage time touchdown. Okay, that's
how I see it. So I think the Rams win

(35:08):
somewhat comfortably. I think it'll be close, but it'll definitely
feel like the Rams are in control. I think the
Rams are the best team in the NFL. Now, I
know I get called a homer, but assue me. The
Rams are one of the best organizations since twenty seventeen.
If they weren't, then I'd be okay with it. But
now no, So that's where we stand on that. But

(35:32):
anything else you want to add, alexis before we head
on out of here.

Speaker 1 (35:37):
Sorry, I was catching up on the chat chat is
wilding out right now.

Speaker 2 (35:41):
Yeah, we got super chats, of course, so I want
to get to those.

Speaker 1 (35:44):
Yes, let's look at the super chats, all.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
Right, let's do that. Let's do that. So we got
shout out to hav met Ajav at the Rams Eagles game. Inself,
my stadium. I'll never forget taken a picture. Someone wanted
to get a picture with me. I'm taking a picture
and while I have my back to the field, Saquon

(36:08):
Barkley is running for like sixty yards or whatever, and
I'm just like, I didn't even know because my back
was turned and I could just hear the crowd, and
I was like, oh boy, it was not good. Uh
that's when you know, but it was.

Speaker 1 (36:24):
It was a good game for Barkley, not for us.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
Yeah, it was a very good game for they both were.
But hav thank you for the ten Let's go dtr
ray to beat the Eagles. Start three and ohero, what's up? Jake?
And Alexis what's up? Man football as well? Appreciate you,
Zaylor Swift. I love this name put in the Hall
of Fame. Defense wins championships. Going to need turnovers in

(36:48):
order to win this game? Yeah, I mean I I
would say they don't need turnovers, but turnovers would help.
As long as they play the defense they continue to play,
they don't need turnovers. They just need to make sure
that the Eagles don't score more points than they do.

(37:09):
So that's kind of where I'm at on that, but
appreciate you. There. Alfredo's just just saying, Hi, appreciate you.
Zaylor Swift is back at it. Fisk is a dog.
Hope he heals up. Honestly, this is a big opportunity
for Steve Obula. If he doesn't play, I'm out on him. Well,
he is doubtful, and then the Sean McVay era, doubtful

(37:31):
means out.

Speaker 1 (37:32):
So yeah, I'm not thinking that he's playing.

Speaker 2 (37:35):
Yeah, I don't. I don't think he's playing. So I
don't know if you're out on him, I'm not out
on Steve Bobula. I do think it is starting. It
is fair to start questioning the durability. I think it's
fair after the first season, he played the entire season
without getting hurt. He's been banged up quite a bit since. Matthew.
Appreciate you, long time channel member. Hi, guys out to

(38:00):
stop Barkley, like JB Long stay, if we lose, I'd
rather be Hurts passing for three hundred yards and beating
us than Barkley breaking touchdowns from their side of the field.
I totally agree. That's exactly what it is. You just
you don't want you don't want Hurts to beat you
with his arm, like he don't. You don't want to lose, right,
But you'd rather have that than the guy that had

(38:21):
over four hundred yards rushing against you last year, uh
doing it again. So I don't know that I agree
with that completely. And then Edwin is our last superher verse.
We'll get his first sack of the season. Big Higgs
is going to find the end zone. Question for both
of you, why do you love the Rams? Go Dodgers?

(38:44):
All right, Alexis you answered this one first.

Speaker 1 (38:47):
Well, thank you Edwin for the super shot. It's very
very kind to you. I became a Rams fan because
I was born and raised in Saint Louis and my
parents had PSLs in ninety five when the team moved there,
and I was born in ninety six, so I was
going to the games literally as an infant. I went
to the games a lot as a kid, and that's

(39:07):
how I became a fan.

Speaker 2 (39:10):
Nice, No, that's I mean, that's awesome. I did not
have that luxury of being able to be in the
same place that they were playing. My whole life has
been either in Upstate New York, which ninety five percent
of it, I'd say even more at this point has
been or in Massachusetts, right outside of Boston. So yeah,

(39:35):
right outside of the Boston. When the Rams lost the
super rule of the Patriots. Even as a little kid,
that felt painful. I cried. I remember crying, and I
remember my dad's friend Rob, who is a Patriots fan, crying,
but for a different reason. Obviously they won, so that
that was that. But No, I became a Rams fan
because my dad was next door neighbors with Jim Youngblood

(40:00):
and you know, basically just rooted for the Rams back
when you know, he lived in Irvine, California, and you know,
grew up a Rams fan. And then somehow someway, you know,
he moves to upstate New York, and you know, I
end up getting raised to be a Rams fan. And
I have been a fan regardless if they were the
Saint Louis Rams, the La Rams, it doesn't really matter.

(40:21):
I always say, you could put them in Anchorage, Alaska,
I would still root for them. You could put them
in you know, Zimbabwe, which is where you know where
Nate Landman is from, and I would still be a
fan of the Rams. So yeah, that's really where that
stems from. No loyal to the soil. But I guess
you know, in a sense, the LA connection is definitely

(40:41):
the reason I'm a fan because my dad was in California,
but I had a lot of love for the Saint
Louis Rams, and uh yeah, I think all all all history,
all Rams history, is all Rams history. I know some
people don't look at Saint Louis as part of it
in LA and separate them. They're all Rams history to me,

(41:01):
even Cleveland. And I'm a big I'm a big history
nut when it comes to sports. So yes, the Cleveland
Rams were a thing and I have done the research
on that and I could tell you. You know, it's funny
because you know the the black uniforms everybody's time, they've
never worn black before. It's not actually true. So actually
the first uniform Alexis, I'm sure you knew this, black

(41:24):
and red was their first uniform. Now they didn't have
the horns, but the Cleveland Rams were black and red
to start their inception in the league. So the more
you know, if you didn't know that, the more you know,
the more you know.

Speaker 1 (41:41):
Well, guys, we're excited for Sunday. It's going and you
know what, Jake, while we're here. There was a super
chat that we missed last episode. Oh thank you, rom.

Speaker 2 (41:54):
Oh we missed the super chat last episode.

Speaker 1 (41:56):
Do you remember last episode? We didn't see it until
the episode was over, and you screenshot at it so
we could answer this episode.

Speaker 2 (42:04):
Oh no, oh wait, I sent it to you.

Speaker 1 (42:07):
Yeah, so I will have it, even though your phone's
situation is.

Speaker 2 (42:11):
The phone is fine, but I think it was screenshoted
on my my my MacBook, which is not with me
right now.

Speaker 1 (42:19):
Send it to you now, Okay, make sure we say
thank you. Deontay Smith.

Speaker 2 (42:26):
Appreciate you super chat. I'm glad we had the wherewithal
to screenshot it.

Speaker 1 (42:31):
Like, yeah you did.

Speaker 2 (42:33):
Yeah, I was giving you just go with it. I'm
just giving you credit.

Speaker 1 (42:38):
Well, so Deon, did you want to read what he asked?
I just sent it to you.

Speaker 2 (42:45):
Yeah, so, Deontay Smith, why are we still so dependent
on Pooka? Good to see Tay get involved, but we
also have to to Wit and Ferguson ready to go off.
So this was last episode. Tay did go over one
hundred actually led receivers in yards. We also have two
two Wit and Ferguson. Wit caught a forty yard pass

(43:08):
two to two did not catch anything, I don't believe,
or he had a catch for two yards I think,
and then Ferguson finally got some snaps on the offensive side.
So why are we still so depending on Pooka? It
actually makes a lot of sense. And here's why, because
Pookinakua is a zone beater and he's so smart and conscientious.

(43:30):
He knows where he is on the field at all times,
and so what he's gonna do is find the soft
spot in the zone and it's gonna create He's gonna
be a weapon essentially, so Stafford can just sling it
and just get it right to him. And when he
gets it right to him, he's a guy that can
stay on his feet and make plays. But it's really
important to have a player like Pooka Akua when you

(43:50):
have the pass protection. Right now that the Rams have,
they're not quite where they need to be, and they
know that they're dealing with injuries. I don't think Kevin
Dotson is one hundred percent like they know that right,
but I think that's the big thing. So really, all
things considered, I understand it can be a little frustrating
when there's just kind of force fed one player they

(44:12):
did with Cooper Cup. But with that said, if it works,
do we care? And it works? So last week they
went away from that a little bit. But I think
we're gonna see more Pook and a coup of this
week and if it leads them to an Eagles to
a win over the Eagles, who cares? Right, So that's
what I would say there, But really do appreciate Deontay

(44:32):
Smith for that. And then Alex with the buzzer beater.
Here does an akos a Jordan Whittington rap.

Speaker 1 (44:39):
I don't think it was a rap. I think it
was a nickname, right, It was a like because I
was like, Jordan witting win. But it doesn't flow that naturally.
Jordan witting Win just doesn't.

Speaker 2 (44:54):
So, and I do.

Speaker 1 (44:57):
Like like replacing Tin at the end of his last
name with win Jordan Jordan winning win. But it's hard
to say that quickly winning win.

Speaker 2 (45:08):
No, you just go Jordan winning winning tin and you
emphasize it.

Speaker 1 (45:15):
No, you just said something completely different than I did
that was better. So you're saying Jordan winning ten.

Speaker 2 (45:21):
Yeah, you gotta emphasize it every time, Jordan winning ten. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (45:25):
Okay, we're not on the same page of what my
nickname was compared to yours. I don't but it's okay
because yours is better to be fair, So Alex, I
think Jake just came up with a really good one,
which is Jordan winning ten. Yes, I don't know how
I missed that.

Speaker 2 (45:44):
Or eighty eight problems. I call them both.

Speaker 1 (45:47):
Well, eighty eight problems is good too, because I had
the I had kind of the faux pop where I
was like, eighty eight problems with a touchdown eight one,
and then I was like, no, don't like that.

Speaker 2 (45:57):
I don't know. It's kind of funny that you're saying
saying that, and that's this is like the one player
on the team that still hasn't gotten his touchdown. Two
touchdowns already and this dude doesn't have his touchdown yet.
It's blasphemy. Anyway, Matthew, here come the superchats. Matthew, Oh,
shout out to ferguson chasing the blocked extra point return.

(46:20):
He was trucking. Yes, that will get you on the field.
Sean McVay even said it afterwards. He's like, maybe we
need to get this guy in the field more. Yeah,
you do, like you told us you would have drafted
him twenty sixth overall. Is this what you do? You're
twenty sixth overall draft picks? You don't play them? So yeah,
really hoping to see him. Brian more super chats. I

(46:43):
want to see Hunter jark Quez is what he's referring to.
So yeah, well I think that's gonna do it. I
don't know if you might see Hunter. They might try
and hit a home run if they need one, and
just give them the ball and what ends up happening.
But yeah, it's been a fun show. Appreciate everybody tuning

(47:05):
in as always, and yeah, it's gonna be a fun weekend,
that's for sure. This is a yeah, very important game,
so it.

Speaker 1 (47:15):
Is very excited for Sunday. It should be a really
really good game. Jake and I both have the Rams
winning twenty four to twenty one, so we'll see. We'll
see if we're right. But guys, if you like what
you hear, please like and subscribe. You can follow me
on Twitter at the Alexis Kraft. You can follow Jake
at JK Bogan and guys, we will be back next

(47:36):
Monday night with a recap episode of our matchup against
the Eagles. But as always stay safe, take care and
go Rams.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
