Speaker 1 (00:02):
All right, guys, welcome back to Downtown Rams. As always,
I'm Alexis Kraft. Join here with my co host Jake
ellen Bogan, and we are coming to you tonight on
another live episode to preview our matchup against the Baltimore
Ravens in Baltimore this upcoming Sunday. Jake, it's been a
while because we've had this like mini by because the

(00:22):
Rams played on Thursday Night Football, which we are not
going to talk about excruciatingly painful loss. We're looking to
bounce back against the Baltimore Ravens. But we've had so
much time between episodes that this feels like we got
to shake their uss off a little bit. So we
had our mini bye week. Yeah, but Jake, looking at

(00:43):
this game Sunday afternoon on the East Coast, this is
an important game for the Rams. They need to bounce back.
They had a really bad game Thursday Night Football. Didn't
put together a complete game yet again, that's something this
team has really really struggled with, and Rams fans everywhere
are looking for this team to show that they can

(01:03):
do that, looking to see if this team can play
solid football against the Baltimore Ravens, who is pretty banged up.
We'll get into that, but their notable injuries will be
missing quarterback Lamar Jackson has officially been ruled out for Sunday,
so that's a huge piece for that Ravens offense. Jake,
looking at this game, what are your thoughts?

Speaker 2 (01:26):
Get right game?

Speaker 3 (01:27):
I hate that term almost as much as I no,
not even closer as much as I hate trap game.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
I hate that term.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
We need to get rid of that. That doesn't exist.
It's not a thing, it's a fallacy. But anyway, yeah,
this is a get right game for the Rams. I mean,
you get to come back from you know, a brutal
loss in ot you get you know what ten days
mini bi, and then you get to go to Obviously
you have to travel so that kind of sucks, and

(01:57):
you have to play in the rain, which also sucks,
and the wind with sucks. But you're going up against
the Ravens who have identity crisis. Regardless off Lamar Jackson
plays or nine and he's not playing, so they have
a major identity crisis.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
How do they win football games?

Speaker 3 (02:14):
Well, Derrick Henry's not even toting the rock over twenty
times this year. Okay, he hasn't done it once in
a game. He's fumbling the football. You know, Cooper Rush
is gonna start. I still to this, I'm gonna say
that we end up seeing Tyler Huntley in some capacity.
But this defense lexus worst defense in the red zone,

(02:34):
worst passing defense at maybe worst defense in general. I
understood what Mike Lafleur was doing, showing some respect. Sean
does this all the time, but I don't know if
you saw that that presser, I couldn't help but laugh.
I mean, it gets to the point where it's just funny.
He comes out and says, and I mean, I get it.

(02:56):
He's not gonna be like, yeah, they're trash, we're expecting
to destroy him. But it was so funny when Michael
Ford goes, yeah, you know, that's a great defense there,
you know, great coaching, and uh and I'm like, it's
just funny to hear that, because you're like, yeah, so
the last three games they've given up thirty eight points.
They actually have given up three point eight touchdowns per

(03:18):
game in the red zone in the red zone, not
three point eight touchdowns. Three point eight touchdowns in the
red zone. So really there's no excuse that the Rams
lose this. I know, the prompt of the you know,
the title of DTR tonight is is Sunday in Baltimore,
must win for the Rams. I mean, if the Rams
lost this game, the season's not over. But man, you

(03:43):
would be absolutely dropping the ball on just really there's
no excuse to lose a game like this. So that's
what I would say, Yeah, this is exactly what you
want coming off a tough loss, get back on the
high side before you head off to London against the
Jackson Jaguars.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
I agree, And let's start by talking about our offense
because I think that is where you know, there's some
concern there, and you know, obviously being consistent right scoring
in the red zone, putting up points, doing this for
four quarters of a football game. I'm going to keep
saying that because that is the number one problem for

(04:22):
the Rams in my opinion, is just playing a complete game,
not just playing one half of football, especially offensively. So Jake,
you know, looking at this defense that you mentioned, what
do you think is going to be the point of
attack for the Rams. Are they going to try to
get the run game going? Are they going to try
to you know, get Kyron and Blake working against this defense.

(04:45):
You know a lot of Rams fans want the run
game to be utilized more because it seems like when
the Rams have a consistent run game, things go well
for their offense, but then they abandon it and then
things start to go poorly. Do we think that that's
going to be the point of attack or do you
think we're going to start to see I mean, Pookinakua
obviously wide receiver number one. We know that he's going

(05:05):
to be utilized against the Ravens, that's not a question.
We know we're going to see some DeVante Adams. But
looking at Terrence Ferguson, looking at Jordan Whittington, looking at
two two out, well, do we think this could be
a game where the Rams start to diversify who they're
throwing to, which receivers they are utilizing, Because I think
this is a really good game for that. I think

(05:26):
that what we need to see from this Rams offense
is that they are capable of scoring with people other
than just pukuin Akua, DeVante Adams and Kien Williams. We
need to see Terrence Ferguson get involved. We need to
see they kind of have started to utilize two too
out well, I want to see more to two out well.
I want to see more Jordan Whittington. I want to
see this become a more versatile offense and not make

(05:49):
it so easy for the defense, right, not make it
so easy for defenses to kind of figure out what
we're going to do when we're on the field. Okay, yeah,
they're going to obviously target Pookinakua. Oh you've got Blake
cor here. They're going to do this, you know, Kyn Williams.
You know, they've been utilizing a little bit more in
the receiving game. I think they should continue that. He
had a very good receiving game against the forty nine ers, Right, So,

(06:11):
in my mind, I think that looking at kind of
how poorly this Ravens defense has been playing, I think
this is a really good game to get creative. The
Rams can't afford to be conservative offensively anymore. In my opinion,
you're leaving a ton of points off the board. And
this is the time you got embarrassed on Thursday night

(06:31):
football against the second string of the San Francisco forty
nine ers, your most bitter division rival. You have to
come out swinging, and you have to show that you
still got in in the tank.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
Yeah, I think that's all said, and I tend to agree.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
I mean, I think, you know, really they dominated the
forty nine ers on the offensive side. They left points
on the board. There were two, you know, one was
an unforced error and the other one was the fumble
at the goal line. This team is just moving the
ball at will. Really, and Matthew Stafford, I mean, I've

(07:06):
gone a record saying this. I don't know if we've
talked about this yet. I believe Matthew Stafford is the
MVP of the league because he's literally carrying this offense.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Now.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
I understand he has pookinako in debout dam's I get that,
but look at the offensive line, the pass protection, all
these metrics are saying they're near the bottom, and the
tape kind of shows that. So despite the run game
not going getting going until Week three, despite you know
Sean McVay and you know his play calling in the
red zone, Matthew Stafford is up in the top for

(07:41):
every category, passing and big time throws. He leads the
league passing touchdowns, He's up there passing yards, He's leading
the league. Like this wasn't supposed to be the case, Alexist.
It's why they moved to twelve personnel. They were trying
to keep Stafford up right, and they were trying to
minimize his workload, and it seems like now he's had to,

(08:05):
you know, I don't know, like it seems like he's
had to kind of pick up the Rams offense in
a way that he really shouldn't have to be doing
right now at age thirty seven. But he's been up
for the challenge and he's looked great. And I think again,
really only Week three has been the issue, ironically, the

(08:26):
week where they got the run game going. So yeah,
I think right now, just Stafford's playing at MVP level.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
Phukniku is the best.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
I think he's a top three player in football right now,
behind you know, or not behind, but in the same
tier as Josh Allen and Miles Garrett.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
You know.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
I just think right now that Rams offense can kind
of do whatever they want to do. And getting Steve
Ovula back at left guard this week is going to
be huge, I really believe so. So I'm excited. I
think that there's a lot to look forward to this weekend.
I don't care who they're going up against they could
be going up against the Eagles again. They could be

(09:06):
playing the Browns. When you don't have football for ten days,
you feel it. I'm ready. I want to watch the
Rams again. It's been too long. Yeah, I'm ready for it.
So yeah, I think they're going to attack the defense
by essentially. I think they're gonna try and run the
football early on Kiren, maybe they get involved. I don't

(09:29):
foresee Jarkois Hunter being involved. I just don't, but I
would like to see it. And then I think we're
probably gonna see them kind of operate that that play
action passing, and I think we're going to start to
see them really kind of utilize that, especially with the
Ovula back, you know, in a left guard. You know,
haven Stein's out, so they're not fully healthy, but there

(09:50):
should be a boost in pass pro and so I
think they'll likely take advantage of that. So I think
we'll see the play action passing attack. I think you know,
Puka is gonna have you know, a big role, obviously,
big chain moving role.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
You mentioned Terrence Ferguson.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
I'm just really curious what kind of role, if any,
Terrence Ferguson has this week because Tyler Higbee's back, Colby
Parkinson's questionable was dealing with the concussion all week, and
last time Davis Allen went up against this team, he
had four catches for fifty yards. So I don't know,
but I feel like Sean McVay in that Thursday night game,

(10:29):
he came away talking a little bit more about two
to two out well and saying, you know that he's
gonna be utilized more moving forward, and he did mention
a little bit more of Terrence Ferguson, And I just
feel like there's gonna be one of those games where
Sean McVay just unvels it. And I don't know if
he'll do it this week against a team that's banged up.

(10:49):
Maybe he's waiting against Tampa or somebody like that, but
Ferguson is gonna have his moment and people are gonna
be like, oh, because I saw a comment earlier. You know,
do you think you were wrong about Dart Jackson Dart
about the RAMS picking and would you rather have him?
And for me, I can't answer that question because one,

(11:10):
I don't like backtracking. I didn't want Jackson Dart in
the first round, and I don't want to go back
on that. But two, we don't know how good Terrence
Ferguson can be. And I mean you saw last night.
The Giants are a great example. Jackson Dart with a
bad you know, a bad coach and a coach that's

(11:32):
not willing to give him a chance, is still on
the bench. Okay, so we don't know who Jackson Dart is.
If that's the case, Russell Wilson would still be starting.
And Cameron Skataboo the fourth rounder, Yeah, he literally had
what one carry for negative two yards to start the
season and then he just had three touchdowns last night.

(11:54):
They chose to go with him over Tyrone Tracy as
like the lead back.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
They don't do that. Who's Cam Scataboo in the NFL?
We don't know.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
So what I'm getting at is, yeah, it's easy to
be all excited about these guys that are getting opportunities,
and that's right, Like, I have no issue with that,
But Terrence Ferguson hasn't gotten his. So I'm not gonna
sit here and say, Ferguson isn't this Ferguson is this?
Ferguson's not that we don't know what Ferguson is. I
will tell you all we know is that that dude

(12:24):
can make a catch, you know, contested, because that was
a hell of a catch on a third in you know,
eight or whatever they had to have it. I was
surprised they went to him in that situation, but I
was glad they did. So I want to see more
of eighteen. We'll see if we do this week.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
Yeah, I would love to see more of him, But
you do bring up a good point of maybe they're
going to keep him in the bag a little bit
longer and maybe not choose the game against this banged
up Baltimore Ravens team to unleash him. But regardless of
if it's Ferguson or not, you know, if you look
at the carries Jake or the receptions from last week,
I mean you've got ten receptions from Puka, five from

(13:05):
DeVante Adams, eight from Kileen Williams, and then you've got
two from two to Jordan Whittington and Davis Allen, one
from Ferguson and that's it. So I just think I
would like to see this week some diversified receivers, right,
get them in there, Show what other receivers can do

(13:27):
keep the defense on their toes a little bit. This
might be a good week to try that out, just
because I don't, you know, especially in the red zone.
I feel like we're getting a little stale in the
red zone. We're getting a little obvious in the red zone, right.
This has been a struggle for the Rams this season.
And also I think that we can get back to
running it in the red zone. I know that everyone's
gonna think about Thursday Night football, but like, really, if

(13:47):
you look at what really worked for the Rams last season,
it was running the ball in the red zone, and
the first four games, five games of the season for
the Rams, that just was not really utilized. And we've
left a lot of points off the board. So I'd
just like to see some creativity there. And I think
Sean mcvayh knows that that needs to happen as well,

(14:07):
everything that he has said, he knows what other people
are saying, what's been brought up. You can look at
the stats. I mean, we have to get better in
the red zone. So this will be a really interesting
I don't want to use the phrase get right because
we've talked about that, but this will be like a
good reset week, right, I think on both sides of
the football for the Rams. So looking at this team
defensive lead Jake, looking at what we need to do

(14:29):
on defense against this Baltimore Ravens offense, which is pretty
banged up as well. I mean, Lamar Jackson is the
engine of that offense and he's out as of today,
He's officially out. Sorry, Jared vers Jared Versus is very
open about the fact this week that he really wanted
Lamar Jackson to play because he really wants to get

(14:49):
a sack on him. But sorry, dude, he is officially out.
So we will be seeing Cooper Rush at quarterback for
the Ravens and then Zay Flowers, other important player for
that offense is questionable. I don't know if you've seen
if I just saw questionable, but I didn't see any
elaboration on that, because questionable means like there's questionable but

(15:12):
probably will play, and then there's questionable and like, nah,
you know what I mean, And I haven't seen either one.
So I really don't know if say Flowers will be
playing or not. But he's a big contributor to the offense.

Speaker 3 (15:23):
So yeah, they get excuse me, they got rid of
probable I think, because I haven't seen that in a minute.
And uh, I don't know why because I guess, uh yeah,
questionable is like fifty to fifty and doubtful zero and
he tells you. You're like, okay, so he's out. I
don't know why we still do that. It's just silly,

(15:45):
But yeah, I think Zay Flower is gonna play because
like if he doesn't play, what is this team going
to do? I mean, you know, tes Walker is out,
Like yeah, they have like all these injuries. They have
guys injured that you're like, oh, even he's injured, how
did he get injured? He barely plays. Yeah, it's it's
that bad over there with Baltimore. But they are gonna

(16:06):
get back Kyle Hamilton, who's one of the best, if
not the best, safety in football. They're also gonna get
back Marlon Humphrey, you know, so that's huge. Cheetah bay
A Woozya is out that significant. So it's gonna be
Nate Wiggins, it's gonna be Marlon Humphrey. And then you'll
have you know, Hamilton in the Star if you will.

(16:28):
I mean, you could throw him out there, just a
regular safety, but you know he could play both, so
that is that.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
And then they also traded away.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
No pun intended away Odafe away. So they trade him
away for Aloe Gillman from the Chargers. And I'll tell
you right now, like I did a lot of research
on this team, did you know my video and everything
breaking him down? And man, the Ravens, they knew that,

(17:00):
they knew they had issues in the secondary. That's why
they went out and got Gilman immediately. That's why they
went out and signed Chauncey Gardner Johnson our Darius Washington
had a serious injury. He's gonna be out for most
of this year. So they felt like they needed to
add another guy because Malachi Starks he can he can
play in this league. He can't, but they need they
need some depth because they've been dealing with injuries all year.

(17:22):
And Ruben Lowry the third, if you've never heard of
him before, give him two touchdowns to CJ.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
Stroud.

Speaker 3 (17:27):
You got absolutely obliterated last week. So uh, they were like, Nope,
let's go out and get that guy now. No, Mattabike
is huge, okay huge. He's one of the best interior
defensive linemen all football. And No Odefey away. They trade
him away, So that is literally over twenty pressures. That's

(17:51):
not going to be on that defensive line. Mike Green
is going to be asked to step up in a
bigger role. The second round. Rookie Tavius Robinson is going
to be asked to have been a bigger role. Kyle
van Noy, I mean he's had success against the Rams.
We know that in the Super Bowl, but yeah, Alexis,
it is kind of puzzling that they were totally fine

(18:14):
giving up a way right now when it seems like
they're not getting as much pressure as they should. And
he was the win rate was I think in the
sixteen percentile or just sixteen percent, and the other guys
are below ten. So we'll see. But that's the defense
the Rams are going up against. Also, Rokwan Smith is out,

(18:36):
so it'll be Teddy Buchanan once again starting in place
of him.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
Yeah, I mean really just a banged up Ravens team,
you know, as we said earlier, and so it'll be
interesting to see how they adjust and have some of
these newer guys play, and I think it'll be a
real test for them, hopefully to go against this Rams
team who I expect to come out seeking vengeance after
that Thursday night football the backle you know, but they're

(19:04):
listen any given Sunday, right, So you look at our defense,
Jake going against this Ravens offense with Cooper Rush, with
potentially Save Flowers still up in the air quite literally
questionable as we mentioned. You know, obviously they've got Derrick Henry,
one of the better backs in this league. I think

(19:26):
has not had his best year, not a typical year
for him. And then you look at you know, Mark
Andrews as well, who is like, is it just Mirrod?
Does it feel like Mark Andrews has been playing for
like twenty years. He's been playing for quite a while,
But it feels like, you know, like Mark Andrews on
the Ravens feels like it's I can think back to

(19:46):
like it.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
Because I've been playing long enough where someone asked me
if he's a Hall of Famer.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
Yeah, Like it feels like I don't remember him not
being on I remember him not being on the Ravens. Obviously,
I think about that Ravens Super Bowl team, right, But
like I remember in an essence, Mark Andrews not on
the Ravens but like he's been on the team so
long that he's like one of the few guys in
the league that's been on one team for like a
very long time and has had a really great career

(20:14):
with them, obviously, and you know he's he's had but
you know, hey.

Speaker 3 (20:21):
I mean, I mean to say he can't get there,
but he's gonna have to play a while because I mean, yeah, yeah,
we're we're looking at a guy who all time has
five thousand, six hundred and eighty yards. It's not going
to get you in the Hall of Fame as a
tight end, so and fifty three touchdowns.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
So well, they've got him at him at tight end.
And then they've got I think just is Isaiah, Like
Isaiah Likely's back, right, Uh yeah, he's keeping. Yes, he's back.

(21:02):
But they've got Charlie Colaire who they really like as well.
So they've got kind of this interesting trio. But I
was for some reason thinking that Likely was on ar
but he's not an ir.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
Or ar Ar.

Speaker 1 (21:18):
Yeah, sorry, guys, listen, it's not it's not downtown Rams.
If I'm not saying something that I'm reading, you know,
like because I was looking at Charlie Colaire and I
was looking at the end of Colaire. Listen, guys, sorry
ignore me, but they've got a trio of tight ends
that they like, and we could see all three of

(21:41):
those guys potentially utilize if the day flowers out right
and you need some more receiving options, we'll see. I expect, Jake,
that they're going to try to probably you know, with
backup quarterback in They're gonna probably try to get Derrick
Henry going. And again I think that you look at
like the running backs that are defense has gone up

(22:01):
against the season and we've had success stopping the run game.
I mean you Barkley, Jonathan Taylor, Yeah, now, Derrick Henry,
you know, Christian McCaffrey who you know, like you know,
it did okay, right, But I think that the Rams
first point of emphasis should probably be shutting down Derrick Henry.
That just because that's my expectation where Baltimore is gonna go. Right,

(22:24):
You've got your quarterback in there, the backup not as
many receiving options as you probably like, and you've got
Derrick Henry, who's a really good running back. So, Jake,
I don't know what you think Baltimore's game plan is
going to be. I think it's going to start on
the ground, but I don't think they're gonna have success
on the ground.

Speaker 3 (22:41):
Yeah, I gotta be honest with you. I understand some
people who haven't been following are just like, oh, yeah,
they'll just hand it off to Henry. I don't think
they're I mean, I'm not saying that they won't run
the football. But you have to understand this Ravens team.
I mean, Derrick Henry ran the fifteen times with thirty
three yards last week.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
You know it, really it wasn't good.

Speaker 3 (23:07):
I to me, looking back last week, I don't feel
like they got Justice Hill involved enough. I can tell
you they didn't. He had two touches the whole game.
Justice Hill is kind of that X factor I think
for them where you can get him involved in the
passing game, get him, you know, out on the outside,
get him in space, and he could make you pay.

(23:30):
And we saw that. You know, if you're watching film
on the Rams and forty nine ers and you're the Ravens,
you know how you want to beat the Rams. You
want to know how you beat this defense. You take
what they give you, and in addition to that, you
get the running back involved in the passing game, because
if you can't run the football, and Kyle, I'm to
tell you right now, Christian McCaffrey could not run the football.

(23:52):
Brian Robinson couldn't run the football, they were able to
dump it off to McCaffrey. McCaffrey made plays when he
didn't have to get through the trenches. He was just
out in space. And now you just have to make
one guy miss and you're as big as you know,
a linebacker essentially nowadays, so you know you're gonna be
able to break some tackles, that's the thing. So obviously

(24:13):
more slippery in space, I would say is just as hill.
He's not as big of a back as Christian McCaffrey.
But that is what I would be doing if I
am the Ravens. That's how I feel personally. And then
you know, last week they got Zay Flowers involved a
little bit, five catches, seventy two yards. They got DeAndre Hopkins,
he's averaging over twenty two yards per reception. He's been

(24:36):
like their big play guy. So I would be, you know,
wary of him. But yeah, Isaiah likely was. I think, yes,
Like last week was his first action back from the injury.
I'm expected his workload to be ramped up this week.
So here's the thing. The Ravens are one and two

(24:57):
at home. They're one and four on the year. There
I'll say this right now. I went through their schedule.
They got some tough games, but it's not incredibly tough.
In case you're wondering what the Ravens schedule looks like.
They got the Rams this week, then they got the Bears.
I think that could be a tough matchup. They got
the Dolphins, the Vikings, the Browns, the Jets, the Bengals,

(25:20):
the Steelers, the Bengals, the Patriots, the Packers and the
Steelers like those aren't easy, but it's not like they
already played the tough part of their schedule, where you
got the Bills, the Lions, the Texans, the Rams, the
Chiefs to start it off. So it's doable for them
to get back into this. This is desperation time for

(25:40):
the Ravens. This is a must win game for the Ravens.
You can't go one in five to start the season.
Can you come back from it?

Speaker 2 (25:47):
Sure?

Speaker 3 (25:47):
But I'll tell you right now, people, if they go
one in five, Lamar Jackson say he comes back for
the Bears game and people are just gonna assume the
Ravens are gonna win that game. I wouldn't be so certain.
I think the Bears are a tough out, especially after
the bye. So me personally, I see the Ravens as
they're in desperation mode, They're going to be pulling out

(26:09):
all the stops. We could see a trick play on
a kickoff, on a punt return, you know, we could
see different guys getting involved. They could force feed a
certain player. Look out for that, because there's not a
lot that you can really do out there with Cooper
Rush at quarterback. So it's going to be interesting how
they tackle this. Because I'll say this right now, I

(26:29):
think John Harbaugh is on the hot seat.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
I mean, I think you bring up a good point
about where the Ravens are kind of in their schedule
when you look at the big picture. And another thing,
you know, I want to mention you talk about getting
running backs involved in the receiving game, you know against
the Rams also tight ends. The Rams have a very
treacherous relationship with opposing tight ends, and I mentioned earlier

(26:56):
Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likelee and Charlie Colaire would not
be surprised if Mark Andrews has a big game against
the Rams. Just you know, the tight end position has
been something that this defense really has kind of struggled
against for the past couple of seasons. But I think
that we've seen it again, you know, this season, So
that could be probably a favorite target for Cooper Rush

(27:19):
this Sunday. So it'll be really interesting to see to
see what happens. And you know, I know I've seen
Cooper Rush play before, but it will be interesting kind
of like kind of a proved game, I you know,
I think for him, uh, you know, against against the Rams,
and you know, we'll see what he's working with on Sunday.
We'll see if say Flowers is out there, and but

(27:40):
you know, obviously injuries all around, but Jake, I am
very curious to see if the Ravens offense is going
to be able to get at least something going against
this defense. My hope is that the Rams come out hot,
which I expect them to do, but especially on the
defensive side of the ball, I hope that they they
come out they immediately shut down the run game and

(28:01):
we start to see our secondary come to life a
little bit in a way that they kind of didn't
get to against San Francisco. You look at Thursday Night
football and kind of the dink and dunk, right, they
struggle with that, and I would like to see some
corrections made this week against Baltimore. I think it'll be
a little bit easier of an adjustment. So we'll see
what happens there.

Speaker 3 (28:21):
Yeah, no, absolutely, and we got a super by the way,
Mosiah Mitchell here five weeks through that agree in two
what do you? What do you two have the Rams
record being at the rest of their NFC West. Okay,
I haven't changed. They're they're going to go thirteen and four,

(28:43):
that is my prediction.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
I have twelve and five.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
You chose twelve and five before the season, right, Yeah, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:55):
I'm still the same. I haven't changed now. The games
that I thought they were going to win and lose
might have changed.

Speaker 3 (29:01):
There about where I expected, though, because I had them
losing the Eagles game and this Ravens game. But I
think this Ravens game is now a win. And I
had them losing the forty nine ers in San Francisco,
and I just I guess we'll just flip flop them
because I don't think they're losing in San Francisco.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
Now, yeah, I mean I had them losing to Philadelphia.
Unfortunately I did have that, so you know, I got that.
I did not have them losing to San Francisco, so
didn't get that right. But I'm going to stand by
my overall prediction.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
Yeah, I like it.

Speaker 3 (29:35):
Going into the by at five and two is not
a bad thing, especially after what you went in three
and six, twenty three and then what was it last year?
They started off like one and four. It wasn't good.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
So yeah, was I.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
Appreciate you appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (29:56):
So yeah, let's let's dive into you want to do
some predictions. Yeah, all right, so let's go predictions.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
I didn't mean to kick you out. I do not
mean to kick you out. My one. My bad than
that one.

Speaker 3 (30:14):

Speaker 1 (30:58):
We do. And I also want to say, for some reason,
it's not letting me sign in to comment back to
you guys. Somebody asked if I was going to be
doing that my toe tap live on the show. Have
you been seeing that? I don't know, I I you
know the Michael Jackson.

Speaker 2 (31:16):
Are you doing tap dancing now?

Speaker 1 (31:21):
Well, anyways, I'm not gonna Jason asked this question. No,
I don't have room to do it in here, but Jake,
I'll show you later. It's like a dance move thing
I floss. I know how to floss in essence.

Speaker 2 (31:39):
Okay, that's a dance I'm not like.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
Yeah, not the tee thing, the teeth thing. I'm good at.
The dance move flossing I can do on a very
intermediate level.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
Now intermediate's good, is it?

Speaker 1 (31:56):
I mean it's it's like a little bit past beginner,
but not potent.

Speaker 3 (32:01):
I mean I can't do it, So props to you.
My brain just doesn't like that, like the movement and
everything just throws me off.

Speaker 1 (32:10):
Yeah, I Jake, I'll show it to you later. My
mom is so sweet. She's watching right now and I
just saw a text come in and she's like, I
haven't seen the toe tap. Now we've gone on a tangent.
But Mom, I will also send it to you yet.
She's watching. Guys, everyone say hi to my mom. But Jake,

(32:32):
am I going to be going first?

Speaker 2 (32:34):
You are predictions?

Speaker 1 (32:37):
I feel like I'm excited to my mom, says Hi. Okay, predictions, guys,
full predictions. So take into it taking into account everything
that we've said kind of about this Ravens team and
what we're facing, and also using deductive reasoning, knowing the

(32:59):
rams of a little little bit to prove this week
based on what happened on Thursday night football. Let's just
be honest with ourselves. I think that they are going
to want to put a lot of points on the board.
I think they should. I think they need to come
in and I don't think that they should do this
conservative mismatch, no whatever, Like you need to score, you
need to show that you can do it all four
quarters of the football game. So I think we are

(33:21):
going to see two touchdowns from DeVante Adams. I think
he's going to have a big game. So I don't
know if that's even bold at this point because he's
like receivers, but two is bold. But another thing that
I'm want to say is I think we're going to
see another Kien Williams receiving touchdown. I think that they
really like utilizing him in the receiving game. He's really

(33:41):
stepped up in that area, and he's been pretty reliable,
you know. I know people obviously are like not happy
with a mistake that he made last week, but I
mean he really stepped up in the receiving game. There's
a night football. He had a lot of big catches
in overtime, so you know, he's been pretty reliable there.
I think we're going to see Kian Williams receiving touchdown. Defensively,
I think we're going to see two Jared Versus sacks.

(34:04):
He has been heating up. Okay, a lot of people
want to get on get on him about not you know,
putting up whatever sack numbers they think he should be
putting up. He's had some strip sacks. Okay, He's been successful,
but I think we're going to see two Jared for
his sacks. Unfortunately for him, it's going to be on
Cooper Russian not Lamar Jackson, which again he's been very
vocal about wanting. But I think he's still going to

(34:26):
have a big game. So we'll see there. What's like
a fun one because we've kind of started doing four,
I feel like.

Speaker 2 (34:33):
We have to keep doing We did kind of just
lean into four.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
What if I'm like, it's like Joshua Carty fifty yard
plus field goal.

Speaker 3 (34:43):
I mean at this point that's bold because it doesn't
feel like he's sad to be able to get the
kick off.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
I mean, I think that the blocking is going to
be better. For the love of.

Speaker 3 (34:52):
God, Well is going to help. Also, yeah, Havenstein was not,
so I'm glad he's out, like and he's like whatever,
rehabbing the injury because he hasn't been one hundred percent.
I was noticing that on film, so like, I'm not
shocked he's missing another game, not that I'm saying here,
like yeah, Warrea McClendon Jr. I love this move. No,

(35:13):
I mean he's kind of showed you he's just kind
of just a guy. But and and personally, I would
go with Qwesenberry at right tackle. I don't know why
they're not, but yeah, Ovulous should help for sure.

Speaker 1 (35:27):
Yeah, so those are gonna be mine, you know, I think,
I think just overall, I just really want to see
this offense hot all four quarters. I just want to
see a lot of creativity in the red zone. And
I want to see points on the board. Touchdowns, super simple,
nothing complicated, let's do it.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
Yeah, No, I'm with you on that.

Speaker 3 (35:53):
All right, I'm gonna say, Matthew Stafford throws four touchdowns
this week. Oh yeah, it's bold, but it's also the
worst pass defense in the league. I know that they're
going to be better than last week. But still, I
think Stafford he knows, he he knows this is the
best year he's ever had, the best chance he's had

(36:16):
at winning the MVP. There's not anybody out there that
can really get in his way except for maybe who Knakua,
but and maybe Jonathan Taylor will see what he ends
up with yards and touchdowns. But yeah, pokin Akua, I
feel like that's the actually the only thing that'll get
in his way. And it's not even because Nikua can

(36:36):
win it. It's that I'm worried that voters are going
to use him against Stafford, which I think is ridiculous,
but I think they probably will. By the way, Number
two on my MVP voting would be Dak Prescott right now.
I really wish everyone realized how good Dak has been.
And I bring him up because you know, I know

(36:58):
you get these questions. I get him all the time
on Twitter. Who do you want to be the successor
for Matthew Stafford? I'll say this, and I don't even
I won't even hesitate Dak Prescott, like that's who I want.
I think he'd be a perfect fit after Stafford hangs
it up. But I'm not trying to rush Stafford out

(37:18):
the door. This is more so also an indictment on
let's just say, kind of a lackluster quarterback class that
everybody was like, oh, this is gonna be generational, and
now nobody wants Like Jets fans are like, oh my god,
can you imagine having the number one pick? It doesn't
even look like arch Man's gonna come out. Nobody wants. Yeah,
you know, Leonora Sellers, I like, but that's about it,

(37:41):
all right. So anyway back to it. Stafford four touchdowns,
give it to me. I'm gonna say, we're gonna go
back to the well two receiving touchdowns for Kyraron Williams.

Speaker 1 (37:54):
I almost did that but I got scared, so props yep.

Speaker 3 (37:58):
So I'm gonna say I think that they are gonna
see that and they're like, this works, you know, and
it makes sense, right The guy that has nose for
the end zone and you just you throw him the ball,
you get him out in space, can make a guy miss,
can break tackles.

Speaker 2 (38:13):
Makes sense.

Speaker 3 (38:16):
So yeah, Caron, I'll catch two of those Stafford four.
Uh so those are two so far, and we'll do
a defensive one. I'm feeling a Nate Landman pick six.

Speaker 1 (38:28):
That is bold.

Speaker 2 (38:29):
I'm just I would love it.

Speaker 1 (38:31):
And it does feel like, you know, he's had some
nice punch outs, he's had some nice recoveries. This this
is like the try Holy Trinity right now. He's a
pick six, so it makes sense.

Speaker 2 (38:43):
Yep. I'm feeling a Nate Landman picked six.

Speaker 3 (38:48):
Actually, that doesn't even make sense because I have Stafford
throwing four touchdowns, so that would change my overall score.
So no, Nate Landman is gonna take it all the
way down to the one and get tackled. You will
not get the pick six, unfortunately, has to make sense.
So he does get the interception though, and then last
but not least, I'm gonna say because part of me

(39:12):
wants to give him like a ton of sacks and
I just feel like Cooper Rush, it's gonna be like
snap like it's gonna you know, So it's gonna be
hard to get to the quarterback.

Speaker 2 (39:23):
Hmm.

Speaker 3 (39:24):
All right, this is more so my pettiness coming out,
but I'm gonna do it. Sean Dolak is gonna play
and he's gonna force a fumble again, yes again, because
he forced a fumble that was bullshit and Bill Vinovich's
crew absolutely botched that. So yes, I'm not over that.

(39:46):
I'm over the loss. I'm not over calling what should
have been a fumble of forward progress, which by the way,
was reviewed last night when they said they couldn't review it.

Speaker 1 (39:55):
So yeah, that was tough. That was tough, But hey,
I would love to see all those as happen. And
now we got to get into score we do, so
I'm gonna I'll go. I think that the Rams are
gonna win thirty one to seventeen.

Speaker 3 (40:13):
We are thinking the same vein here, I'm going thirty
one to twenty.

Speaker 1 (40:19):
Yeah, so super similar.

Speaker 3 (40:21):
Evens are averaging twenty points per game over their last three. Now,
obviously Lamar Jackson played you know, a couple games ago,
so that probably helped their average. But yeah, it's not
great in Baltimore.

Speaker 2 (40:35):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (40:36):
I feel like that kind of dankin dunk style offense
is going to get the Rams. Like they'll give up
a field goal, they might give up a leaky touchdown,
you know in coverage, maybe a broken coverage play, but
the Rams are going to be in control of this game.

Speaker 2 (40:50):
I'm not worried about it. I'm excited for it.

Speaker 3 (40:53):
I want to watch offense because guys, I didn't get
to watch offense. I know you guys didn't either, but
like if you weren't at the game, like I was
at the game and I got to see this team
barely run the offense. It was really frustrating. That's my
least favorite thing about the Bend don't Break defense. It's
just really frustrating to sit there and just be like, Okay,
when do I get to watch nine and throw the football.

(41:14):
Oh okay, so they get forty minutes and we get
twenty four, Like you know what I mean, it's that
was frustrating. So yeah, I'm ready for the Rams to
dominate the time of possession, Thank you very much.

Speaker 2 (41:25):
And that's all I gotta say.

Speaker 1 (41:29):
Well, Hey, a win is a win, is a win
is a win, and the Rams need it, you know,
not just for the record, but I think you know
that get some confidence back and before you go to London,
let's get this w and get right. So I hope
that we're both right. I hope that the Rams are
scoring that amount of points, but we'll see. I'll take

(41:53):
anything at this point. I just I hope that you know,
it's a really good game for the Rams and that
we can see a complete game out of them, which
I think. I'm hopeful and optimistic it'll happen. And we're
on the road, so we're playing on the East Coast,
so it'll be an earlier game that we usually get.
We're gonna be in that first slot one o'clock Eastern time,
ten am Pacific time. That's so crazy how early it

(42:17):
is on the Pacific coast for that first slot. But yeah,
I love being in the Central time zone personally because
like noon is like the perfect time for football to
start for me because I could sleep in, make breakfast.
It's so throw my laundry in, have coffee, and then
it's like by noon. I'm like, okay, Like this feels
like a good start. Ten feels so early, but I

(42:39):
feel like it also could be awesome because then you're
just waking up and just like as you eat breakfast,
football starts. You know.

Speaker 3 (42:45):
Yeah, when I had a hard time waking up ten,
we wasn't the best, and nine wasn't the best, and
any of those Lendon games weren't the best. But now
that I get up on time, they're actually kind of cool,
like to just wake up and be like, oh, okay, yeah,
the Vikings were playing the Browns. I'll wake up to yeah,
you know, because I'm just like my eyes are just
like kind of adjusting and yeah, and we're gonna have

(43:07):
to do that.

Speaker 2 (43:08):
By the way, next.

Speaker 1 (43:08):
Week, yep, next week we play the Jars in London,
so that will be uh, we'll have we will have
to do that because this Sunday it's the Jets and
the Broncos.

Speaker 3 (43:22):
Yeah, I'm gonna say this. I have no idea, but
I just have a feeling that game is going to
be wonky. I'm not saying that that's a win, but
I just I have this weird feeling like we're going
to just see a weird game.

Speaker 1 (43:33):
Like well, the London games always are like the an
any because it's it's a weird time adjustment for the
players as well, so it's like a weird So it's
like I have a in one of my fantasy leagues
bo Nicks, but I'm not starting him because that just
the London games get the weird vibes. Yeah. So but yeah,

(43:54):
we'll talk about talk about the Rams doing that next week.
But guys appreciate everybody tuning in. We're excited, you know,
our Friday night stream, this game in two days in Baltimore.
We're very, very excited. Jake, any closing thoughts for everyone
we dismissed the class.

Speaker 3 (44:15):
Yeah, it's it's my birthday and tomorrow, so I'll be
wishing for a Ram Super Bowl. I already know they're
gonna win, like I know that in my heart, but
I'm just gonna wish just to add like a little
sugar on top.

Speaker 1 (44:25):
So there we go Happy early birthday, Jake.

Speaker 2 (44:29):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (44:29):
I appreciate everyone. Drop it in the comments. Happy early birthday, Jake.
And yeah, hopefully you have a good birthday and that
will like lead into a celebration Sunday when the Rams win. Yes,
so it'll be like a really good birthday weekend. You
have birthday and a Rams win.

Speaker 3 (44:45):
And you know what it would be even like the
icing on the cake. You see that Kansas Jayhawk logo there.
They're playing Texas Tech tomorrow and I'm pretty sure Texas
Tech is like the ninth team in the country. If
Kansas could pull off the upset, that would be freaking cool.

Speaker 1 (45:06):
Hey, that would be an immaculate birthday weekend. Yeah, my
mom says happy birthday, by the way, she texted.

Speaker 2 (45:13):
Me, thank you. I appreciate it everyone. I appreciate all
the wishes.

Speaker 1 (45:19):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (45:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (45:21):
So we'll be back, uh, Monday night, Monday night, and
then we'll do a preview of I mean, this Jags team.
They're playing another NFC West team in the Seahawks. Weird scheduling,
by the way, it seems like AFC South in the
NFC West, Like obviously we know they're going to play

(45:42):
each other. That was like the but the fact that
they're like all playing each other at like the same
time in the first half of the year, you don't
normally see that. But then again, you don't normally see
like the Rams aren't playing Seattle in Arizona until later on,
So you'll be at the first Seattle game, Isn't that wild?

Speaker 2 (45:59):
That's the first Seattle game of the year.

Speaker 1 (46:01):
And that's so late, I know, But I will be there.
If anybody else is going to be at the game,
the rivalry game against the Seahawks on November sixteenth, let
me know, let me know on socials, because I'm going
to be there. I'm going to be doing some type
of you know, hang out with Rams Republic. I'm sure,

(46:23):
you know, in the pink lot, and it'll be fun time.
I'm excited. But yeah, we're like a little over a
month away now from that game. But that is a
really late first matchup against Seattle, I agree. Very strange,
very strange scheduling this year, very strange. But guys, that's
going to do it from us. I hope everybody has

(46:45):
a great Friday night. I hope everybody has a great weekend.
