jam packed hour, so let's get right into our first story.
We're talking about America's favorite painkiller. It has a dark side,
and it may be rewiring your brain. It starts with
(03:14):
something so normal. You probably did it this week. A
headache creeps in after a long day, maybe some muscle
soreness from the gym. Without thinking, you reached for that
familiar bottle in your medicine cabinet, tailanaw or one of
the hundreds of other medications containing acetamenafin. One quick swallow
(03:36):
in relief is on the way. But what if I
told you that that simple act might be doing something
far more profound than easing pain.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
What if that.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
Little white pill is actually rewiring how you assess risk,
process fear, and make decisions in ways that could lead
to cheating, reckless behavior, even substance abuse. This isn't some
fringe theory. It's hard science coming from one of America's
top research universities at Ohio State. The Ohio State doctor
(04:12):
Baldwin Way and his team made a startling discovery about
aceta metaphin that should make every American pause before popping
another pill. They took over five hundred college students and
gave half of them a standard one thousand milligram dose
of aceta metaphin that's like taking two extra strength tilenols,
(04:33):
while the other half of the test study got a placebo.
Then came the fascinating part. Researchers had them play a
computerized balloon game where each pump could earn the money,
but if the balloon popped, they could lose everything. This
wasn't just child's play. It's a well established psychological test
(04:55):
called the balloon analog risk task that's been used for
decades to measure real world risk taking behavior. The results
the group on Aceta metafhin pumped those balloons significantly more
aggressively than the placebo group. They also had more balloons
burst by a significant margin, and it shows that they
(05:17):
were willing to risk total loss for potential gain. Now
you might think, so what if people take slightly more
risk in a computer game. But here's where it gets disturbing.
In follow up surveys, the Aceda menafin group consistently rated
dangerous activities like bungee jumping, gambling with large sums of money,
(05:39):
or even quitting a job without another one lined up
as a significantly less risky behavior than the placebo group did.
The drug wasn't just affecting their game strategy, it was
altering their fundamental perception of risk. Doctor Way explains it
this way. He says, quote, aceta metaphine seems to make
(06:02):
people feel less negative emotions when they consider risky activities.
They don't just feel scared. That's an unquote. That's terrifying
when you consider that nearly a quarter of American adults
take this drug weekly and an estimated one hundred million
use it annually. We're talking about a medication that might
(06:23):
be quietly removing the emotional breaks that keep us from
dangerous decisions. To understand why this happens, we need to
look at what a set of metaphin actually does in
the brain. While it's primarily known as a pain reliever,
research shows it affects the anti singulate cortex and insula,
(06:46):
basically regions that process both both physical pain and emotional distress.
These areas are crucial for risk assessment. In that gut
feeling that you have that warns us when something is dangerous,
think of it of your brain. It's a risk assessment
system like an alarm system. Normally, when you consider doing
(07:09):
something risky, whether it's investing in your life savings in
cryptocurrency or cheating on your partner, these brain regions light
up with warning signals, but a scenamenafin appears to mute
these alarms. The result, you still intellectually know something might
be risky, but you don't feel that visceral sense of
(07:31):
dread that normally stops you from proceeding that gut feeling.
So let's connect this to everyday scenarios that should scare
all of us, like relationships and infidelity. Imagine you're at
a work happy hour after taking Thailand all for a
headache that day, that attractive coworker is flirting with you,
(07:54):
maybe more boldly than usual. Normally, your brain would be
flashing warning signs about the potential consequences like hurting your partner,
your family, damaging your reputation, destroying trust. But with aceta menafin,
it mutes those signals and you might find yourself crossing
(08:15):
lines you normally wouldn't like at a Coldplay concert. It
also affects your financial decisions picture making investment choices. While
medicated with acetamnafin, that stock that seems just a little
too risky, the business venture that needs more research. Your
(08:37):
usual caution might be chemically suppressed with a set of menafin,
leading to decisions with devastating financial consequences. I also want
to draw attention to substance, a use and addiction. If
you consider a teenager taking a acet of metaphin or
tailand hall after sports practice who then gets offered drugs
(08:58):
at a party, they're a normal fear response to potential
addiction or overdose might be blunted, making experimentation more likely.
And what about the ethical boundaries if you're on aceta
metaphin cedam metaphin. It seems harmless, right, but think about
workplace decisions, cutting corners on safety protocols, fudging numbers on
(09:20):
a report. The internal discomfort that normally keeps us honest
might not register as strongly under acetamtaphin's influence. This risk
taking effect is just part of a broader pattern researchers
are uncovering about aceta metaphin psychological impact. Previous studies on
(09:40):
it have shown that aceta metaphin use reduces empathy for
others' pain by up to twenty percent. It dulls both
positive and negative emotions equally. It also decreases the brain's
ability to recognize its own mistakes. It lowers sensitivity to
a emotional charged images and scenarios. So, in essence, a
(10:05):
set of metaphin appears to function as a broader emotional damper,
not just for physical pain, but for our entire effective experience.
This raises profound questions about how its widespread use might
be subtly reshaping social interactions and personal decision making on
a societal scale. What makes this findings particularly more concern
(10:29):
is how ambiguous a city metafine has become it's active
in over six hundred medications the active ingredient there, and
unlike alcohol or recreational drugs, where we're aware that they
impair judgment, people assume over the counter pain killers or
just medicine with no cognitive effects beyond pain relief. We're
going to be right back with a special guest to
(10:49):
talk more about this. You are listening to the Doctor
Bob Martin Shows station. Welcome back, doctor Adam Brockman here,
(11:21):
and you're tuned into the Doctor Bob Martin Show. As
we navigate today's health conversation together, I want to remind
you about our incredible listener resource. It's our email health

(12:01):
to two. So don't hesitate. Your health journey matters to us,
and we're here to help you every step of the way.
So what we've been talking about is the hidden risk
of aceda metaphin, from altered risk taking to gut health
in the new research that's revealing that aceda metaphin, the
active agreed in Thailand, all taken by one hundred million
Americans annually, may do more than relieve pain. It could
(12:24):
fundamentally alter our decision making. A groundbreaking Ohio State University
study found that a standard one thousand milligram dose reduced
fear responses in participants, leading to riskier behavior. In psychological tests,
those on aceda menafin took more chances in rated dangerous
activities as less threatening, suggesting the drug blunts our natural
(12:48):
risk assessment mechanisms by dampening activity in brain regions that
process fear in consequences. But the concerns don't stop there.
Science shows that aceda menafin also disrupts the gut microbiome,
the trillions of bacteria critical for physical and mental health.
Studies link frequent acet of metafine use to reduced microbiome diversity,
(13:14):
depleting the beneficial bacteria in increasing intestinal perbability, also known
as leaky gut. It also has higher inflammation marketers. In
this gut brain connection may compound behavioral effects. A compromised
microbiome is tied to mood changes, impulsivity, and even depression,
(13:35):
raising questions about whether acet of metafine psychological impacts stems
partly from gut disruption. While occasional use is likely safe,
these findings suggests we should limit unnecessary acet of menafin use,
especially before high stakes decisions like financial decisions that may
impact your family. Also, we need to support our gut
(13:59):
health with probiotics and fiber if taking tylenol regularly, and
choose alternatives when appropriate, like heat and ice. As research evolves,
one thing is clear, even safe medications can have unintended consequences.
Always consult your doctor about pain management strategies that protect
(14:21):
both body and mind. I want to get more on
gut health from our special guests today. Now let me
introduce someone who knows how to make health products in
marketing campaigns equally irresistible. Please welcome Stuart Brennan, the Chief
marketing officer of Grove Because great brands grow there. Now,
(14:45):
with thirty years in natural health products, Stuart's the strategic
genius behind powerhouse brands like sun Warrior and fourteen other supplement,
food and personal care lines under the Grove umbrella. Before
for shaping grows vision, he led marketing at industry giants
like Nature's Way in Nutraceutical Corp. Basically, if there's a
(15:09):
health product on your shelf, chances are Stuart's had a
hand in making it a household name. And here's my
favorite tidbit. This marketing maestro once tested his chops as
a stand up comedian in college. It turns out his
true punchlines are the kind that boosts sales in consumer trust.
Well that Stewart. Welcome to the Doctor Bob Martin Show.
(15:31):
How are you today?
Speaker 2 (15:33):
Doctor Rocklan, thank you for having me on. I appreciate that.
And in fact, you're quicker on writing punchlines than I was.
And maybe that's why I didn't have my career in comedy.
You should have been writing my stuff for me.
Speaker 3 (15:45):
I don't know about that.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
I did.
Speaker 3 (15:47):
My audience is very small. It's my kids and my
wife and what they do when they when I know
I got to them when they actually roll their eyes.
I know, hey, that's a good joke, but it is
actually a terrible joke.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
Yeah, Now, being a poor comedian at least health is
no laughing matter. So it's something that I don't have
to worry about writing punchlines, but certainly come with good
solutions for folks. That's an interesting tid. But you shared
about acedo medaphine. In fact, I got a broken foot.
I broke my foot on Memorial Day and I had
(16:21):
to make some decisions about taking I'd be a profen
or Aceta metaphin. I wish I knew all the things
you were sharing about that those are going to be
some interesting bits of information for consumers to weigh some
of the some of the consequences of using acido medaphin
very interesting, So thank you for sharing that.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
Yeah, it is. And that's what this show's been so
successful for so long is because we grab those things
that people may not see on the outside and then
we dive into them a little bit further. And that's
what we want to dive in today with the Sun Warrior.
This product line, it's an active performance line, and you're
you're talking about these probiotics that you're just launching which
(17:03):
have pre pro in post biotics, Can you explain what
that is to our audience?
Speaker 2 (17:09):
Please? Absolutely, because the consumers are seeing those three terms
on so many of the products today, and let's just
make sure that we all kind of know what we're
talking about when we say what's a probiotic or a
probiotic or even a postbodic that's the newest term. Consumers
are being interacting with postbodics. So we know what probiotics are.
Probiotics are In most cases, they're bacteria. They could be
(17:31):
different types of yeas that are beneficial inside the body,
and we know them mostly with bacteria that reside down
in our gut and help with with digestion and immune
response because about seventy percent of our bodies immune response
is coming from the gut, and these good bacteria that
we rely on it's a symbiotic relationship are critical to us.
So we know about probiotics. Those products got to be
(17:54):
fat and what they like to eat is a lot
of fibers or starches, some things that we don't even
digest in our own diet as on through and so
the term prebiotic got to be pretty popular mostly those
are fibers and starches that the bacteria like to eat,
and it helps them thrive in the gut. So you
see products sprinkle sometimes a little bit of these probotics,
(18:15):
or you can take much higher doses of different types
of fibers, and that helps the bacteria and the gut
thrive and survive much better. The last term post biotic
and post kind of being aftwards. In the real technical definition,
those would be byproducts of what the products are doing
(18:36):
in the body. Some of our vitamins that we have
inside our body wire actually produce as a byproduct of
fermentation or other types of metabolic processes that the bacteria
interact with food in our gut. Post Bodists can also
describe some of the bacteria they've already died and it's
or purposely was killed. Does a stale of a benefit. Well,
(18:57):
your body can ingest a dead bacteria and still detect
it and elicit an immune response. And so these three
types of things, a prebroduct to feed the bacteria, the
bacteria or the yeast themselves, or post biotics even after
they have been no longer living, they still confer a
benefit upon the body. Kind of amazing things, and so
(19:18):
the new Sunware products contain all three of those components
in the formulas.
Speaker 3 (19:23):
Okay, and again to sum that up again, the prebiotics
are basically the food for the probiotics, and the probiotics
are those beneficial bacteria in the body, and generally you
can consider that yeast or bacteria. And then the biotics
are those microorganisms that are no longer living those byproducts,
(19:45):
but still have a health benefit. Would I be safe to.
Speaker 2 (19:48):
Say that's correct? Yes?
Speaker 3 (19:51):
Okay, okay, great, great. And then there's three new products
in this line in the Sunware the products they claim
to help with digestion, gas, bloating, and immune support when
consumers come to understand that and expect that from probiotics.
And I got a question for you right after the
(20:12):

growing and empowering each other because your health deserves the
spot light, all right, and we're spotlighting today sun Warrior
products with Stuart Brennan. He is the chief marketing officer
at Grove and Stuart. Before we left for break, we
were talking about how these new sun Warrior products they
(22:31):
claim to help with digestion, gas, bloating, and immune support,
which again most of us have come to understand and
expect from probiotics. But in addition, these sun Warrior products
make several new and different claims. For example, the women's
probiotic claims to help with skin hydration. Can you tell
me how that's possible?
Speaker 2 (22:51):
Isn't that? Who would have thought? I mean, you know,
we don't usually associate probotics with skin, skin health or
skin hydration. But what they found in some studies using
a particular strain of Biffotobacterium, it's the strain was Biffotobacterium
blactics and it goes under the code b l O four.
(23:12):
You'll see a little identifier on the different strains. They
were studying on immunity and found that it was also
leading to much healthier skin in the female participants. It
probably the same for men. It's not really a gender issue,
but it's probably a more popular benefit for the women.
We've known the link between immunity and skin health quite
(23:35):
a long time. Maybe you've talked about that on previous
types of the shows. Eggs and psiasis, other kinds of
skin conditions often are triggered by a hyperactive immune system.
And so they found that when given this particular strain
of Biffotobacterium Biffoitobacterium lactics BLO four at a two billion
(23:57):
active strain potency, the women were seeing noticeably visible reductions
in facial skin wrinkles, typically in times of seasonal dryness,
and then they would notice that their skin was much
more hydrated. So this link between the gut and your skin,
(24:18):
or your gut and your brain, other types of function
the body, this is where the new science is really
digging in on probodics. So, yes, they do great with digestion,
gas bloating immune support. But now you're going to see
a flood of products that are now representing the newer
science and what we're discovering that there's a much bigger
role that probodicts can plain in your body than just
(24:41):
the gas bloating, digestion, and immunity, although those are very important.
So the new Sun Warrior Women's probodic contains that actual
strain used in the studies, the Biffito bacterium lack this
blo four at the two billion potency. It's the actual
strain at the actual potency in the study, and it
has the aid of the women's going to see healthier,
(25:04):
more moisturiy skin with less visible wrinkles. That's a real
exciting benefit that.
Speaker 3 (25:10):
Is I think a lot of women will be interested
in that. Let's stick with the women's probiotic and the
Sun Warrior Women's probidic also claims to help with vaginal health.
Is there any specific evidence or science on how this
can support vaginal health?
Speaker 2 (25:27):
There is, And it's kind of funny two guys on
the phone talking about women's vaginal health. But we'll take
our stab at it.
Speaker 3 (25:34):
We're just trying to learn, right, You're just.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
Trying to learn in the women's vaginal track that is
a high concentration of lactobacillis types of bacteria. The two
big families of public bacteria are the Lactobacillus and the biffoitobacteria.
When we talk about the lactobacillus, when there gets to
be an imbalance where it's a lesser proportion of the
(25:59):
lack of bacillus in the women's vaginal track, that can
make her vulnerable this imbalance to yeast infections or vaginosis,
these types of things. The Sun Warrior Women's probiotic has
two different strains of lack of bacillus that were specifically
(26:20):
studied for this actual issue of vaginal health. One getting
the vat attract back into proper the microbiome in there
back into proper balance, and then actually mitigating yeast infections
or shorten the duration of a vaginosis issue. Those key
strains are Lactocci Bacillus ramnosis under the code HN zero zero.
(26:42):
One why I share these codes is there are thousands
of subspecies of ramnosis or of any of the bacteria
we're talking about. If you want to have the actual
strain used of the actual studies, then look for products
that have the identifiers and then you can actually your
own home work on the research. But the Sunware Women's
(27:03):
probotic has ten billion active strains of Lactocaci rannosis h
N zero zero one and lacto Bacillus acidophilus, but not
any acidophlus. It's the LA fourteen subspecies. Those two strains
that that potency have been shown in seven days to
rebalance a woman's national track to help her mitigate reduce
(27:26):
those types of episodes. So again, these are fantastic benefits,
all supported by the new wave of clinical studies on probotics.
Speaker 3 (27:36):
Yes, and those bacteria names, they are a mouthful. So
again as saying if you can, just if you're interested,
to look up the h N zero zero one and
LA fourteen those are the ones that you're looking for,
or you can look up the big names too if
you're an end of that. But yeah, and so we're
(27:56):
talking about the women's probiotic here in in men to
men talking about it. Of course, Yeah, we need to
learn these things, so men listen up to you might
be able to learn something. I want to talk about
how important the pH is in the body. So the
pH in everybody's body needs to be somewhere in that
seven point three five to seven point four five. That's
a healthy range. And talking about women's health, the vagina
(28:20):
is going to be somewhat acidic. It needs to be
about five or lower. And so that's what we're talking
about here with the women's probiotic helping to balance that
microbiome in the vagina, in the pH balance there, which
is so important.
Speaker 2 (28:37):
All right. Yes, there's secreting things, those bacteria that are
helping keep it in that kind of pH range you're
talking about. That's why they're so important.
Speaker 3 (28:46):
And to prevent yeast infections and so forth. Yes, So
if we shift to the men's probiotic, it claims to
support physical activity, endurance and stamina's different for a probiotic.
Can you give us a little bit We're about to
head into break here, Stuart, but give us just a
little teaser and then we'll come back and talk with
(29:07):
it after the break.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
Well, the cook teaser. This is one that two guys
can now talk about a little more comfortably. But yes,
they found in clinical studies a couple of the strains
that we can talk about after the break that were
shown in studies amongst folks that are at least are
three hundred patient studies. They were able to exercise longer,
with greater stamina, and they were getting less colds and
flus while they were stressing theirs bodies with exercise. And
(29:29):
so I'm excited to share those two insights of it,
those two strains.
Speaker 3 (29:32):
All right, And Stuart, I want to give the listeners

your health can't wait. Now, let's get back into our
conversation with Stuart Brennan, the chief marketing officer at Grove.
All right, Stuart, So we were talking about the Men's
probiotic and it claims to support physical activity, endurance and stamina,
and I want to want you to elaborate on that
(31:42):
a little bit how it can improve exercise performance.
Speaker 2 (31:46):
Sure. Now again, this is a full body probotic, fifty
billion active strains in the Men's formula to help with
digestion an immune system. But in particular we put five
billion active of strains in each capsule of Lactobacillus acidophilis
and not any acidophlis the NCFM code of that subspecies,
(32:08):
and then Biffotobacterium lactics bio seven, those two strains at
five billion each. The Australian instance of sport took three
hundred patients men and women and sejected them to strenuous
workout activity and they were taking five billion of each
of those two prior probiotics on a daily basis, and
(32:31):
this one on for months and months and months. What
they saw where these folks were able to one they
could exercise more intensely, so they had much more stamina,
and then their workout sessions were lasting much longer. They
had much more endurance while they were exercising. An amazing
finding about this link between our gut and our body's
(32:55):
energy reserves and ability to perform longer and more intensely.
It gets even better. When we're exercising, we're stressing our
body in good ways. That's how we build up muscle
and we shape and tone fat by stressing our body.
But also the immune system gets stressed and sometimes when
we're on a heavy activity we find ourselves more vulnerable
(33:18):
to upper respiratory track infections, colds and flues. What they
found on the study that this particular blend of probotics
actually reduced the folks that are taking the product had
less colds, less flu less upper respiratory tract infection those
that didn't. And so we incorporate all that into the
new Sun Warrior Men's probotics. So in our audience really
(33:40):
with Sunwire folks that are pretty physically active, good weekend
warrior type folks, and that meets our audience. So if
you're so many wants to get all the benefits of
a probotic plus be able to perform better when you're
exercising or out for a job, this is the product
for you.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
And that's one of my favorite things about the Sun
Warrior product line. It is for a lot of physically
active the weakened warriors, like you said, And I like
a lot of the other products too, like the active
hydration packets, the plant based protein, which is where what
the Sun Warrior is known for for so long. So
all these things really help maintain that physically active ability
(34:23):
in most individuals. And so Stuart, I want to talk
about the Ultra probiotic. It has a unique claim of
helping with stress and mood balance. What's the science behind that?
Speaker 2 (34:35):
Okay, the ultra probotic and we called the ultra maybe
not that clever, but this one's a hundred billion active
probiotics per capsule. That one more time, very high, one
hundred billion active probotic strains in each capsule with this
particular product. Wow. Now more is not always better, but
(34:58):
in this case it has more strained diversity. And with that,
seventeen billion of the hundred billion I shared is a
particular strain called lactic caci bacillis paracaci for short, it's
lp E thirty seven LPC thirty seven. Now, what's special
about lpth LPC thirty seven. In clinical studies, folks that
(35:24):
are taking seventeen billion active strains of LPC thirty seven
are able to withstand stress, maintain a better mood, have
better mental clarity than those that were taking placebo. This
was measured in a study with one hundred and twenty
different volunteers eighteen to forty five years old. It was
(35:46):
randomizing the two groups, those receiving the probotic and those not,
and then they're subjected to the stress tests. See how
well you can think clearly, stay focused, and handle external
stressors and the performance was significant between the two groups. Again,
this link between your gut and your brain or other
(36:06):
function your body. This is the new science of probotics.
Speaker 3 (36:10):
Wow, and Stuart, so tell me. Are all these Sunwarrior
probatics vegetarian friendly? And again name what each of them are?
The men's, the women's in the Ultra.
Speaker 2 (36:22):
There's the men's women and Ultra probotics. These three new formulas,
they are brand new, so they're available on sunwoyor dot com.
In the months ahead, they're going to trickle into all
the major health food stores. But yes, these are vegetarian friendly,
dairy free, non GMO, no gluten no soy, these are
(36:42):
clean formulas. Wow.
Speaker 3 (36:44):
Okay, And again folks, you can go to Sunwarrior dot

into our converse station with Stuart Brennan, the c MO
(38:03):
at Grove and Stuart. When I found out that you
were a stand up comedian, I had to at least
make up one joke right, So here it is for you.
You can boo if you want so, Stuart. A probiotic
walks into a bar. The bartender says, we don't serve
your kind here. The probiotic replies, relax, I'm cultured, all right,
(38:24):
you can boo now, Okay, So Stuart, tell you tell
me a little bit. Let's wrap up here. We just
got a couple of minutes. Wrap up what we're talking
about with the sun Warrior lineup, and you can talk
about the probiotics, you could talk about the plant protein,
you could talk about the liquid multi vitamins. There's so
much on the Sun Warrior brand. If you can just
(38:46):
tell our listeners what they can expect from Sun Warrior.
Speaker 2 (38:49):
Well, thanks for letting me talk about un Warrior probotics.
Those are exciting new products, brand new. You can find
them on our website and they'll roll in all the
major health food stores in the in the months ahead.
But Sun Warrior's real origin really it started with we
were a pioneer in plant based proteins and via the
(39:10):
vegan audience really really migrated to the sun Warrior brand.
So plant based proteins, the Warrior blenders are leading part there,
those blends of different types of plant based proteins. That's
really the product that we're most well known for. And
then it's the collagen market exploded. What about vegetarian engine vegans,
(39:37):
you know, they were kind of left out of that marketplace,
and so we launched plant based collagen builder products. It
doesn't just take collagen directly from a supplement and just
use it directly in the skin. It's going to break
it down into amino acids and where they come from
plant or animal sources. So we are collagen builder, provides
(40:01):
the women those amino acid building blocks from plant proteins
for her to go rebuild very healthy collagen in her body.
That's probably our number two most popular product in the
Sunwarrior line. If you go into a Health with shower,
you'll find quite an expansive section of Sunwarrior products, ranging
from creatines to like we mentioned, liquid bo have vitamins,
(40:25):
new active performance supplements. Again, we're catering to those that
have a plant based bias but are living in a
very active lifestyle. All the major health with stowers carry
the brand and you can find this online.
Speaker 3 (40:40):
All right, thank you very much Stewart for joining us today,
and again you can find Sunwarrior products at Sunwarrior dot com.
You've been listening to the Doctor Bob Martin Show.
