(03:55):
So stick around. We've got hunger hormone hacks, listener stories
in a game changing guest who's redefining natural in the
era of ozimpic. So let's get after it. Let's go
ahead and start with ozimpic. How about this ozempic shakeup.
Imagine what you think is your weight loss lifeline suddenly
(04:15):
goes poof and it vanishes. That's exactly what's happening right
now as the FDA is cracking down on off brand Ozimpic.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
Welcome to the GLP.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
One chaos, folks. Let's go ahead and break it down.
There's been a great ozimpic freeze out. For years, compounded
GLP one drugs were the secret menu of diabetes and
weight loss care. It was cheaper, easier, and for many
a literal lifesaver. And when I say compounded, I mean
(04:47):
it takes place in a compounded pharmacy that makes it
right there on the spot. And a lot of times
these are maybe mom and pop type of pharmacies that
make it much more affordable than big pharma. But this
wee the FDA drop the hammer, declaring basically, sorry, folks,
the shortage is over, back to full price. So it's
(05:09):
queuing millions of patients scrambling like maybe fans at a
Taylor Swift ticket drump. Take Michelle from Texas, for example,
she says compounded semiglue tide help her dodge back surgery,
probably with the help of her chiropractor and maybe spinal
decompression too. But now she's staring down a thirteen hundred
(05:31):
a month prescription or a return to chronic pain. Her
story is not unique. It's basically a healthcare horror show
that's playing out nationwide. Doctors like to chime in here,
so they like to say, well, patients panic, but some
docs are thinking of good riddance. Why, as one intercinologist,
(05:53):
they told me, with compounded medicine, it's like downloading a
sketchy app. You don't know if it's the deal or
malware for your pancreas. Maybe, But when a pharmacy is
mixing drugs in a bathtub sized vat kidding kinda, can
you blame them? That's the that's the concern here. That's
(06:17):
why the crackdown has happened because there's been basically knockoffs
that are taking place, but Big Pharma has a knockout
punch enter this corporate cage match mom and pop compounding
pharmacies versus big pharma's legal bulldozers. You have Eli Lilly
(06:38):
just serving up cease and desist letters like Oprah's handing
out cars. You get a lawsuit, You get a lawsuit.
Two courts have already told compounding pharmacies nope, try again. Meanwhile,
brand name makers, they insist we've got plenty of supply
as they're quietly jacking up prices. So you're asking, what
(07:01):
now if you're stranded here without these compounded semi glue
tide medicines, you need to talk to your doctor. Maybe
right now you might qualify for patient assistant type of programs,
but you also need to be aware of these basically
back alley o zimpic unless you want to play pharmacy roulette.
(07:24):
I would suggest going natural, fiber rich diets and exercise.
So sorry, couch potatoes, but yeah, we need to move
and with this it's quite the shakeup. But Doctor Bob
and I we're not gonna leave you hanging here. I
also want you to check out the Doctor Bob Martin

website doctor Bob dot com and we'll connect you with
a provider to help you with this.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
And you know, folks look good.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
Health is priceless, but these prices, yikes. It's about staying
savvy and maybe staying skeptical in this matter, with these
with these prescription drugs. And I would say, if you
see a guy in a trench coat whispering you want
some discount ozempic, run faster than a wagovy user chasing
(08:25):
a food truck. I want you to remind you, when
life is handed to these lemons, make lemonade or better yet,
a golp one alternative. Now, if you're sitting there thinking great,
so my options are bankruptcy or back alley medicine, especially
when it's thirteen hundred a month for these hold up.
(08:47):
Nature might have an option for you, a third option
coming up. After the break, We're gonna sit down with
the innovator behind caliperb. It's a natural supplement that's turning
heads in the geo game. Imagine curbing your cravings with
weight for it. Hops Yeah, the beer plant. I kind
(09:09):
of no needles, no sketchy compounds, just science's answer to
big farmer's price gouging. The question is can a bitter
bud really tame the hunger hormones. We'll get the scoop
straight from the source to talk about calu Curb a
little bit more. It's a revolutionary weight management product. It
(09:33):
was commercialized after about fifteen years in thirty million of
New Zealand government backed science. There the company. It currently
sells in five international markets and it continues to grow
rapidly through channels in It's just a great, great products.
The secret here is a marisit. It's derived from hops in.
(09:57):
Early studies show it can boost GLP one levels naturally.
It's no prescriptions and no panic over the purity. It's
just a capsule and your body's hunger hormones getting a
wake up call.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
So when we get.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
Back here, we're gonna go ahead and get with Sarah
Kennedy who's the founder and CEO of calu Curb, and
we're coming up on the break. So it's quick break,
quick action. If you've got a health related question that's
burning in a whole dial eight hundred and six zero

Speaker 3 (10:31):
Thinking of it.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
As a twenty four hour day, seven day a week
health outline, natural remedies, mysteries, and maybe you got a
question on this GLP one the changes that are taking
place there. But we're gonna be back right after this,
so grab that phone eight hundred and six zero six
eight eight two to two. Repeat it like a mantra.
Eight hundred and six or six eight eight two two.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
Now, let's keep.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
Exploring your health, all right? So I got Sarah with me.
Sarah Kennedy. She's the founder and CEO of CALIKERB. Sarah
was formerly with Fonterra in held roles as vice president
of International Farming, Managing Director of Dairy Nutrition, and Managing
director of RD One's Fontera's channel of rural retail stores.
(12:17):
Prior to that, joining Fontera in twenty eleven, she had
more than twenty years experience in dietarian animal nutrition, including
ten years as Managing director of Health Reyes Vidaco, New Zealand.
During her time at Health Reyes, she tripled the company's
revenue and then oversaw the merger of Health Reys in
Neutral Life to form Vidaco, the third largest health and
(12:40):
well being company in the Australian Asian market. She's originally
a veterinarian by training and has held a number of
other senior executive positions in agribusiness in the food industry.
In two thousand and nine and twenty ten, Sarah completed
a Sloan fellowship program in Global Leadership and in a
at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and has held a number
(13:04):
of board positions with government and private and also other
New Zealand companies. So with that, I want to welcome
the CEO of Cala Curb, Sarah Kennedy to the show.
Speaker 5 (13:15):
Hi Sarah, Hi, Hi, great to be here.
Speaker 3 (13:18):
Great, great, great.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
So we're going to go ahead and just get right
into it and tell me about tell me a little
bit more about the origins and development of Calacurb, what
inspired the creation of it and how did the idea originate?
Speaker 5 (13:33):
Yeah, it look at well, I think it's a fascinating story.
In twenty ten, just just qualifying that just about all
primary research is done by the government in New Zealand.
So a group of scientists at a research institute called
Plant and Food in twenty ten had a hypothesis that
(13:55):
they would find a natural plant based extract that's pressed appetite.
They put into the government for a grant. It was
called Foods for Appetite Control and they got a twenty
million dollar grant back to look into that. So really
their hypothesis came from interesting from history that in times
(14:18):
of famine people in the Scottish Highlands chewed very very
bitter berries. In the Kalahari desert tribesmen chew very bitter
cactus before they go out hunting, and there'd been some
later work, you know, I fast forward that they did
some extraordinary work and they came up with the one
(14:38):
extract which was this, well this revolutionary. Well it's not
a revolutionary. It's an extract that they named amarsate. And
what that does is it superstimulates your indodgenous or your
own natural release of three appetite suppressing hormones, that being CCK,
(15:04):
which is calling sister kinan, GLP one, and pyy. Now,
the interesting thing with those, it increases your own GLP
one and CCK by six hundred percent, So that is
twice the normal amount that you would get after eating.
And you really have to be above four hundred percent. Well, no,
(15:27):
you have to be above four hundred percent to make
any behavioral changes. In the first human clinical they did,
they showed if given an hour before and eat till
your full lunch and snack, they got an eighteen percent
(15:48):
reduction and calorie intake. So this was taken an hour
before remain meals such as lunch, and you got an
eighteen percent reduction. I mean, that's that is a highly
sted highly significant amount to reduce in the two latter
and the two more clinicals, human clinicals they did. They
(16:11):
did hunger measurements and they showed that we got a
thirty percent reduction in hunger and a forty percent reduction
in craving. And that was both the men and women.
So it was done in men and it was done
in women. These are all double blinded randomized trials that
(16:34):
were conducted by the government.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
And these are pretty big studies, weren't they.
Speaker 5 (16:40):
Oh yes, ay, our big studies. Het Coster is saying
it's been thirty million to date on the research. So
these are all independent, well independent, they're done by a
research institutes governed by the New Zealand government. Yes, but
they are, and they're all published, all published in US publication.
(17:02):
So the first one is in the American Journal of
Clinical Nutrition, the other one is in the Nutrients and
then there's another one in Obesity Pillars. But we have
been selling the product. It's still owned by the New
Zealand government. I'm the founder. I just license the technology globally,
(17:23):
but I pay the Government of Royalty on everything we sell,
so they still conduct our research. But we've been selling
since twy and eighteen probably in America since two thousand
and well really after COVID twenty twenty three, and just
the amount of feedback we get as amazing. But you know,
(17:46):
there are three There are two ways that people can
use caloricub. You know. The first is an alternative. You know,
if they don't want to, if they can't take the
side effects, they can't afford it, or people don't want
to inject themselves. So just giving you a comparison as
an alternative, a zempic, which is a semi glue tide
(18:09):
on average, reduces your calorie intac by twenty four percent.
We reduce it by eighteen percent, so slightly less are
but still highly significant. The other way I recommend people
is if you are coming off an injectible, a GLP
(18:30):
one injectible, you absolutely should come off onto a klikurb.
Most people do not realize, but when you've been on
a synthetic hormone, because remember this is a synthetic hormone,
you have suppressed your own natural hormone to zero, so
(18:51):
you are almost to zero. So this is why these
people get this intense hunger and this rebound when they
come off the injectibles, because you've got to get that
gut brain access working again. And while you've been on
the injection, you've just suppressed your own really almost to zero.
Speaker 3 (19:12):
Yeah, and again, repeat those numbers. It is so close together.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
I think that that's something that we want the audience
to realize that the Cala curb is basically right in
line with ozempic as far as the effectiveness of these
hunger control So can you repeat those numbers again?
Speaker 6 (19:33):
Sure?
Speaker 5 (19:33):
So, with ozempic, which is a semi glue tide, you
reduce on average your calorie intact by twenty four percent.
Calor curb, which is clinically proven, is eighteen percent, an
average of eighteen percent. The difference as well as we
(19:54):
are very small, well one hundred percent natural as you said,
it actually comes from a specific hop plant we extract.
We extract in New Zealand and then we send to
America to be encapsulated in America. So it's bottled, labeled
and encapsulated here but east and the one hundred percent
(20:17):
natural and they're very small capsules.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
The ingredient there is a Maris site which is as
a hops. It's rich in bitter acids which helps to
control which control that hunger hormone. It's a great, easy,
all one hundred percent natural supplement to take as a capsule.
It's called Calacurb and we're going to come back in
(20:42):
just a few minutes with Sarah Kennedy. She is the
CEO of CALACRB. You've been listening to the Doctor Bob
Martin Show. Don't go anywhere?
Speaker 5 (21:00):
Are you waiting for the right excuse?
Speaker 6 (21:03):
Waiting, shoes, waits and.
Speaker 1 (21:25):
Money?
Speaker 2 (21:25):
You welcome back.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
You're listening to the Doctor Bob Martin Show.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
I am doctor Adam Brockman, your host today, and we
are talking with Sarah Kennedy, the the CEO of cali Curb.
But before we jump into our Calicurb dive again, let's
connect the dots. The ozimpic crackdown left millions scrambling. But
what if the answer has been hiding in plain sight,
like say vineyard calicurb star ingredient emerasite is derived from
(21:57):
hops an. Early studies show it can boost GLP one
levels naturally, No prescriptions, no panic over that purity, just
you a capsule and your body's own hunger hormones getting a.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
Wake up call.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
So Sarah, I want to get into this a little
bit more can this plant go toe to toe with
ozempic and tell me more about emeraseate?
Speaker 5 (22:22):
Okay? Sure? So what they actually did they didn't go
out and look for hops. They actually proved that we
have bitter taste receptors right down through our gestu and
testinal track, So we have bitter taste receptors on our tongue,
but we have them right down through. They then showed
that these taste receptors, when stimulated, would release gop one
(22:46):
csikm pyhy. So they then built this incredible high throughput
model where they tested over one thousand extracts and really
only two wound. And that's understandable because you imagine as
every time we ate something bitter, you know, we didn't eat.
(23:06):
So it's a highly developed evolutionary train. So there was
only two. One was a potato oxalate, which was great,
but it's poisonous, so you'd be thin but dead. And
the other one was a hot variety. And then because
they've bred all the hots in New Zealand, they then
(23:26):
tested all of those and came up with the one
they called the Eureka, or they called it a marase,
but it was really the one that was the most potent.
So what happens is in a capsule, it goes down
and it dissolves in your upper gut, so it goes
pasture stomach, dissolves in your upper gut, and then it
travels down the gas to intestinal track, hitting these bitter
(23:51):
taste receptors, releasing GLP one, your natural GLP one, but
at six hundred percent above basically, so it's really hitting
those in increasing those and that's what is making you
feel full and less hungry hungry, because that goes up
to your brain and says, hey, you're not so hungry.
(24:15):
And this was an evolutionary mechanism in us in humans,
because it was to stop us eating something bitter. Bitter
is offer and associated with something poisonous, so that we'd
evolved this in our bodies. If we we ate something
very bitter and it got into our digestive trap, we
(24:35):
release these hormones to go to our brain and tell
us to stop eating. The great thing about calicub is
it's degraded in twenty hours, so it lasts for four
to six hours and is degraded in your colon. And
of course we've been drinking hops for thousands of years,
(24:56):
so it's very safe.
Speaker 2 (25:00):
So again to wrap this kind of in the mechanism
of action here for the listeners, So this bitter taste receptors,
it starts on the ton and then as it goes
these bitter receptors that it goes into the GI track.
Then it releases hormone that basically says, hey, I don't
need to keep eating this because it's bitter and I
(25:22):
you know, I don't want anything poisonous in my body.
Although this is completely safe because we've been using hops
for thousands of years. The hormone here just says it
just slows it down. And then as GLP one's work,
it slows that gastric emptying, reducing that appetite, and it
suppresses those hunger signals. And then, unlike an injectable GLP
(25:46):
one agonist like the semi glue tize those zimpics, the
govi's out there, the amerasate and caliker stimulates indogenous hormone production.
Would that be a kind of wrap it up the
real quick.
Speaker 5 (26:00):
Yeah, it's fifteen years of research. It's good, you know,
And I think the other thing is it works with
your body. If you see the release of this GELP,
it follows a normal hormonal rhythm of your body. When
you inject in a synthetic hormone, you are in checting
it at a very high level, which lasts obviously for
(26:22):
seven days, and you know you've got high GLP one
all the time. You know, even when you're sleeping, which
is you know what what, you don't need it when
you're sleeping, So you really want to take something that
works with your body and is high when you need it,
which is before you eat.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
So I see many benefits with this outside of just
appetite control. That's reducing the cravings in that food in
noise that says hey keep eating, especially avoid trying to
avoid some of those ultra process type of foods that
just just get that almost addiction component there. I think
it can controls that appetite, but also is going to
(27:03):
control that weight management with this, so it supports gradual
sustained weight loss and a metabolic component with it, metabolic
health as it improves insulin sensitivity and lipid profiles in
your blood, the bad the LDLs, the things that we
want to kind of avoid. And then the non pharmological
(27:25):
component with this, avoiding the risk of those prescription drugs
that can have a mile on list of side effects.
I think it's a very great product. And of course
talking about this with you, I've tried it myself and
I think it works wonders. I mean, I would say
the numbers that you have on the studies are fantastic,
(27:46):
and I would say it definitely has helped me to
reduce cravings and reduce those sugar cravings, which are very important.
Would that be a safe thing to say that? I
think even sugar cravings can be controlled with this.
Speaker 5 (28:00):
You know, Look, it's amazing. We did a third human
clinical and we did it on women, and women aren't
usually used in clinical trials because of our hormonal cycle.
So this took quite a long time because we had
to line up all of these women and do it
on the specific time of their menstrual cycle and on
(28:21):
the same time and day per week. And this was
over COVID, so it actually took us about eighteen months.
But the results were stunning. We got, as I said
in the last we did them in the last eight
hours of a twenty four hour fast, and we got
one hundred and twenty percent decrease in craving. So at
(28:42):
twenty four hours, they were craving less than they were
at sixteen hours. So craving, I think is a great application,
and particularly in women. Most women, you know we talk
about PMS or pre menstrual syndrome. Well it's actually what
most people don't realize is on average woman will eat
(29:04):
two hundred calories more a day during that time. Because
you know, that's normal, it's natural. Their body's saying, hey,
i might prepare to implant an egg and I'm going
to need this energy for you know, the lining of
my usurus. So this is a wonderful one to drop
in so you don't have to inject it and ramp
(29:26):
it up or ramp it down. It's a wonderful one
just even to take in that and those periods of
major craving.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
Yeah, that's that's a great point to make about hopefully
decreasing some of that appetite during those those menstrual cycles.
We're talking with Sarah Kennedy, the the CEO of Calacurb,
and if you want to find out more about Caliicurb,
go to their website. It's calacurb dot com, c A
L O c U RB dot com. You're listening to
(29:55):
the doctor Bob Martin show.
Speaker 4 (30:21):
Boom so you s bo saw your dad ham spa
harm about service number sunoncible.
Speaker 6 (30:42):
The one never singles A powerful I don't need better.
Speaker 4 (30:49):
RESI I'm so confident, mostoppable today.
Speaker 3 (30:57):
Welcome back. You were listening to the Doctor Bob Mark Show.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
I'm doctor Adam Brockman, and I want to remind you
if you've got a health question that's burning a hole
in your brain, go ahead and dial us at eight
hundred and six zero six eight eight two two. Doctor
Bob and I are here and we're ready to tackle
your questions. Think of us as your twenty four hours
a day, seven days a week health hotline. If you're
curious about natural remedies or you're having some mystery symptoms,
(31:22):
we've got your back. Grab the phone eight hundred six
zero six eight eight two two. Your wellness journey starts
with that call. So we're been talking with Sarah Kennedy,
the CEO of Calicurb, and she's been generous enough to
offer our listeners ten percent off your first bottle of Caliicurb.
You just got to go to their website. It's caliicurb
(31:44):
dot com. C A L O CU R B dot
com and use the code doctor Bob. All right, Sarah,
thanks for that offer. And again we're how would users
once they once they go ahead and take advantage of
that ten percent off, how would they use this product?
What is the recommended dosage and timing for taking calicurb
(32:04):
to achieve those optimal results?
Speaker 5 (32:08):
So you really want to take your calicib the two
tiny capsules about an hour and a half before lunch
and an or an hour to an hour and a
half before lunch and before dinner. The reason for that
is you want it to be on an empty stomach
because you want it to go down past your stomach
and into your upper gut, and that's that all you're doing.
(32:29):
So take two of these small capsules with a glass
of water and take it there. And what it's going
to do is it's going to super stimulate the release
of GLP one and the other hormones and you're just
going to feel full faster. So the big thing is
always take it on an empty stomach and take it
in about an hour. So I said to people, look,
(32:50):
put a put an alarm on your phone or things like.
You know, you'll have a cup of coffee at about
ten o'clock in the morning, you know, have it then,
but it does last for four to six hours, so fantastic.
You know, if you're a snacker, a late night snacker,
you know, I have it an hour or so before
dinner and it'll last you right through. And we get
(33:13):
a lot of feedback from people that go, you know,
I used to snack after dinner. You know, it's always
some sort of sweet treat or salty treat, and I
just don't feel like it now.
Speaker 2 (33:25):
Okay, okay, yeah, So talking about that, are there any
specific dietary or lifestyle recommendations that should accompany the calcurb supplementation.
Speaker 5 (33:36):
Well, you know, I think we say, you know, if
you go from ten donuts to eight donuts, it's really
not going to make that many difference other than two donuts.
So you know, you really want to have, you know,
to try and make your diet you know, you know,
have throtein, have vegetables. We don't try and prescribe a
diet with it, but I'll tell you how I use it.
(33:56):
I use it with I intimatetent fast because I'm just lazy.
I just find it the easiest way. So I just
take mine at about nine o'clock in the morning, eight
or nine o'clock in the morning, and that will see
me right the way through to you know, like one o'clock,
and then you know, it just allows me to walk past,
(34:18):
you know, walk past the muffins, walk past all of
those things that you might be out at morning tea
mm hmm.
Speaker 2 (34:24):
And really, Sarah, I do. I do pretty much the
same same thing. I go ahead and have a little
bit of protein or a smoothie in the in the morning.
I take it before that and I'm pretty good most
of most of the day really so so again again
for the listeners, we talk about intermittentvesting on the show
quite often.
Speaker 3 (34:45):
Describe usually what you do with that.
Speaker 2 (34:47):
Is it is it twelve hours, is it sixteen hours
that you try to do or is it just mainly
during during the day as you can curve some of
that appetite with Kylie Curb.
Speaker 5 (34:57):
No, I do sixteen hours, So try and eat before
eight o'clock and then I won't eat before twelve or one,
and I just find it easy. I just take my
calicub in the morning, and of course what it's doing
is it's going to make me feel fuller. So I
don't get that revenous hunger, you know, and this is
what one of the clinicals we've done on that twenty
(35:18):
four hour water only fasting and you know it showed
that it reduced hunger end cravings. Yes, so that's that's
how I use it.
Speaker 2 (35:28):
Okay, great, great, And of course with the ten percent
offer that you're giving ten percent off, what can listeners
expect to be cost wise versus this? I mean the
in the first segment of the show, I mentioned that
ozempic some of these are some of these patients. Now,
if they don't have coverage, it's thirteen hundred dollars a month.
Speaker 3 (35:48):
So what's the cost of calicob.
Speaker 5 (35:51):
So it's eighty nine ninety nine and that's ninety capsules,
which is a month's supply. And yeah, so yeah, that's
what it is said. Owned by the New Zealand government,
so we pay them a royalty. And these are all
published clinicals. I will say to you that, you know,
I'm the founder, but every founder has a story. But
(36:14):
I had a love hate relationship with food my whole life,
so this was really special to me. You know, I
was always either eating or not eating, binging or not
you know, I just I love food, but I hated it.
It controlled my life. So I started taking calicub obviously
when it first, you know, when I founded it, and
(36:36):
I can honestly say it has completely changed my life.
I eat food. I no longer hate it, but I
just don't eat as much as it.
Speaker 2 (36:47):
Yeah, it gives you the chance to enjoy it, but
you don't have to have that feeling afterwards of what
did what did I just do to myself? And I
think that's that's that's as important as anything you can
you can enjoy smaller portions, but without overeating and without
the extra calories and the extra weight. I think this
(37:07):
is a great product, and I think a lot of
listeners are gonna really really enjoy the results that they'll
get out of Calacurb. You can go to calicurb dot
com to get ten percent off with the code Dr Bob.
