Speaker 2 (01:01):
Welcome, Welcome, This is the Doctor Bob Martin Show, your
number one destination for no nonsense health talk, and I'm
your executive producer and co host, doctor Adam Brockman. Strap
in the day, folks, because we're going to expose what
could either be a very big health breakthrough or a
dangerous game of pharmaceutical poker. Joining me today is also
(01:25):
the legendary doctor Bob Martin himself, who's encouraging you as
always to grab that nutraceutical before the pharmaceutical. How's that
tumoric treating you today, doctor Bob?
Speaker 3 (01:36):
A lot better than it would if I were taking
something that was more poisonous, let's put it that way.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
Well, well, welcome to your show. Glad joined us today,
and we got this is a pretty important topic, you know,
ladies and gentlemen. We've entered that next step in changing
the health landscape of Americans, where the White House is
now cutting deals with big pharma, and the stakes they're
pretty high. It's not just policy, it's it's becoming a
(02:05):
gamble for fifty million Americans who are saying they can't
afford their medications. So if you think about it like this,
you walk into your local pharmacy and you're expecting to
pay five hundred dollars for that life saving prescription, only
to find it suddenly slashed to fifty dollars. And that's
thanks to the new Trump RX plan. That sounds like
(02:28):
a miracle, right or is it too good to be true.
You'll want to stick around as doctor Bob and I
we dig into the details, and I also want to
stick Have you stick around, because we're gonna try to
get to our health features today, our health alternative other week,
the health Outrage of the Week, product recall into health mystery.
But I also want to hear from you. If you're
(02:50):
being crushed by drug costs, or if you found affordable alternatives,
call us at eight hundred six or six eight eighty
two to two, or you can also send us a
message at doctor bob dot com. Remember it's your platform
to be heard eight hundred six zero six eight eight
two to two or doctor Bob dot com spelling out
(03:11):
the word doctor doct r bob dot com. All right, folks,
grab those blood pressure cuffs and maybe a tall glass
of water, because we're going to tear into what we're
calling Americans their prescription drug racket. So recently, President Donald
Trump and pharmaceutical giant Pfizer announced a groundbreaking agreement that's
(03:33):
aimed at significantly reducing the cost of prescription drugs in
the United States. This deal that's being hailed as the
most significant drug pricing overhaul in American history is promising
to bring relief to millions of Americans that are struggling
with the high cost of medications. But what does this
(03:53):
agreement entail and how what impact patients, the pharmaceutical industry,
and the healthcare landscape itself. So let's talk about this.
So at this press conference at the White House, President Trump,
alongside Peiser CEO in key administration officials, they unveiled this
new deal. The centerpiece of this agreement is the Trump
(04:17):
Rx Plan. It's a new platform that will allow Americans
to purchase Peiser drugs directly at significantly reduced prices. The
administration claims that virtually Pfeiser's entire portfolio drugs will be
available on the site, with discounts ranging from fifty percent
to as high as eighty five percent off national prices.
(04:40):
This deal also introduces what's known as Most Favored Nation
you might see the acronym MFN pricing. It's a policy
that ensures US drug prices aligned with the lowest prices
offered to other developed countries. This move is designed to
end the practice of American consumers subsidizing lower drug costs abroad.
(05:05):
Pfizer has also committed to investing seventy billion to shift
drug manufacturing back to the US in fund research and development.
So this announcement it comes amid these growing frustrations over
skyrocketing drug prices in the US, and according to the
Department of Health and Human Services, over forty two hundred
(05:26):
prescription drugs saw price increases between January of twenty twenty
two and January of twenty twenty three, with nearly half
of those exceeding the rate of inflation. So this average
drug cost increase was fifteen percent, and that translates to
an additional five hundred and ninety dollars per product. So
(05:50):
some of these drugs, like many of the diabetes medications,
are up to five times more expensive in the US
than they are in places like Australia.
Speaker 4 (06:00):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
So. Pfizer one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies and
manufacturers and distributs over three hundred prescription drugs and vaccines,
including the mRNA, COVID nineteen vaccine, Viagra, and even xanax.
So it's portfolio also includes over i think it's said
(06:21):
over twenty approved cancer medications. So this company's involvement in
this deal is seen as a step toward addressing this
affordability crisis. So I want to go ahead and play
an audio clip of what Health and Human Services Secretary
RFK Junior had to say about this.
Speaker 4 (06:39):
Under the leadership President Trump, the US government is now
act is a tough negotiator on behalf of the American
people Today. Is about fairness, it's about equality. It's about
giving hope to those who are trying to stay healthy.
We're managing illness and or fighting for their lives. We
refuse to make the most vulnerable citizens continue to pay
(07:01):
an unthinkable price for the world's pharmaceutical breakthroughs, which we
pay for. This policy is a shield for the chronically
ill who have carried the burden of high drug costs
for far too long. It's a signal to every American
family that we're finally putting their health in financial security first.
And if that's a news standard, one that says we
(07:23):
won't write bang checks to the drug industry any longer.
No family should ever be forced to choose between filling
a prescription and putting food on the table.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
All right. That was Health and Human Services Secretary RFK
Junior talking about the Trump RX plan in the most
favored Nation pricing and doctor Bob, I want to go
ahead and have you chime in on this topic.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
Well, I have a hard time trusting pharmaceutical companies like
Pheiser right now, if you look it up somewhere, Peiser's
multiple they're facing multiple lawsuits, including over environmental problems, toxic
waste from their pharmaceutical plants, contaminated groundwater everywhere.
Speaker 5 (08:13):
They're also being.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
Sued for and this has been going on a while
for the depot Prova lawsuit, which is having to do
with over one thousand, three hundred women suing the company
for generating brain.
Speaker 5 (08:29):
Tumors in their head from their product.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
And then of course we go to Covid all the
fraud and deception and dishonesty that Piser generated in response
to the lies they put out about the COVID mRNA shots.
Speaker 5 (08:45):
They're really not vaccines.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
Would you trust a pharmaceutical company with that kind of
a history, would you take any of their products with
that kind of history? And it always amazes me Doctor
Brockman would say, well, now we're gonna go. Now we're
gonna go and give them fifty to eighty percent discounts
on drugs. Does that mean we were being ripped off
in the to the tune of fifty to eighty percent
(09:08):
over billing or overcosts up until now. This is, you know,
a typical medicalized and pharmaceuticalized program that goes from the
cradle to the grave that Americans have been exposed to,
you know, always kicking the can down the road. There's
a place for pharmaceuticals. We're not an anti pharmaceutical show here,
(09:30):
but we are here to help people understand that it's
a caveat empter world meaning buyer, beware, know who you're
doing business with. Find a way to better take care
of yourself so you don't get into these types of predicaments.
But again, it's hard for the average consumer to do
that because when they go to their doctor's offices, they're
(09:52):
medical doctor's offices. They don't get healthcare, they get health management,
they get sick care management, they get ease management.
Speaker 5 (10:00):
They don't get to causes. They just simply treat symptoms.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
They kick the can down the road, and these short
term problems become long term chronic problems which require drugs.
Speaker 5 (10:11):
Unfortunately, Doctor Brockman.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
Yeah, you're you're exactly right, And that was some of
the skepticism that that I've had in this so so
we we find out now that that we've been subsidizing uh,
the whole world for drug costs, which is not really
a big surprise, but but you know, things like why
are these diabetes drugs which obviously are needed. You know,
insulin is needed if your body doesn't produce insulin. These
(10:37):
things are five times the cost in the United States
as they are over overseas and in places like Australia.
Why is this occurring and why are we now omitting
this and trying to save face here with with Pizer
coming coming on board. So folks don't go anywhere. We'll
be right back with doctor Bob and myself. You're listening
to the Doctor Bob Martin Show.
Speaker 3 (11:00):

Bob and i TO licensed physicians are standing by to
help you unlock your best self. Eight hundred six zero
six eight eight two two. Again, that's eight hundred six
zero six eight eight two two. Let's get right back
into it with our health alternative of the week. All right, folks,
(13:10):
that our health alternative of the week is Natural Grocer's
brand Organic Ancient Grain Pasta. So as the leaves turn
in the air, gross crisp pasta season is in full swing.
While traditional store brands often rely on refine flowers and
minimal nutritional value, Natural Grocer's brand Organic Ancient Grain pasta
(13:33):
offers a healthier, more nutrient dense alternative that's as good
for your body as it is good for your taste buds.
So let's talk about why this product is a standout
choice for health conscious consumers. Natural Grocer's brand is built
on the foundation of premium quality and affordability, ensuring that
you don't have to compromise on your health or your budget.
(13:55):
Here's what sets their ancient grain pastas apart. They have
one hundred percent organic ingredients, free from those synthetic pesticides,
GMOs and artificial additives. Their pasta is created with integrity
in that ancient grains. They're there for modern health. If
you can imagine made with these nutrient rich grains like
(14:19):
commute spelt in eincorn. This pasta offers higher protein, fiber,
and mineral content compared to traditional wheat pasta. They also
there's like I said, is there's no artificial flavors. Colors
are preservetives, so it's just real food that's made the
traditional way. There's three varieties to try, including the organic
(14:41):
commute spirals. Commut is an ancient grain and it contains
up to forty percent more protein in thirty percent more
magnesium than modern wheat, making it a powerhouse for muscle
repair and energy. Another option is the organic spelt pennae
spelt is it's easier to die and it's packed with
B vitamins, iron and zinc, so it supports overall health
(15:05):
and vitality. And then their third option is organic iin
coorn linguini this incorn. It's an original wheat and it's
rich with antioxidants and has a naturally sweet nutty flavor
if you will, that pairs beautifully with any sauce. So
these traditional store brands often use refined flowers that strip
(15:27):
away those essential nutrients, leaving you with empty calories. Natural
Grosser's brand organic ancient pasta on the other hand, retains
that natural composition of ancient grains offering a richer profile
of vitamins and minerals, and studies also show that diets
that are rich and ancient grains can reduce inflammation, improve
(15:48):
cholesterol levels, and support gut health. So for maximum health benefits,
I encourage you to pair your ancient grain pasta with
a nutrient packed sauce. Try blending roasted tomatoes garb like
an olive oil for a heart healthy option that complements
the pasta's natural flavors. I also say to add a
handful of spinach or kale for an extra boost of
(16:10):
iron and vitamin K. Natural Grocer's brand products, again are
available at their always affordable prices, making it easier than
ever to incorporate these nutrient dense options into your weekly
meal plan. Plus their commitment to quality ensures that you're
getting the best value for your money. So as we
embrace the cozy comforts of pasta season, let's remember that
(16:34):
real food grows in dirt, not in labs, and by
choosing Natural Grocer's brand organic ancient grain pasta, you're not
just nourishing your body, you're supporting a brand that prioritizes
health quality and affordability. So next time you're at natural
Grocers or you can find them online at naturalgrocers dot com,
look for the Ancient grains. They're heart healthy and tasty.
(16:57):
Ancient grain pasta your health alternative of the week, Doctor Bob.
Have you used those before?
Speaker 5 (17:04):
I have. They're excellent.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
In fact, they have passas in there that have an
egg base so that it increases the level of protein
to carbohydrate in there, which keeps the cortisol from spiking,
keeps the blood sugar in balance. And of course, as
your previous guest, doctor Ross Pelton said, we've got to
keep fiber in the diet. That's a good way to
(17:26):
keep fiber in the diet because if you go to
these keto diets, these high fat diets, you're literally putting
no fiber in. Therefore you can't make the prebiotics, probiotics
and the post biotic metabolites.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
I agree that gut health is important, and this is
an easy way to get to get some extra fiber,
some protein, and they're in those essential nutrients that are
often stripped away from those refined sugars and flowers. Yeah,
all right, doctor Bob I think let's let's get to
a caller question one from Hillary in Bandon, Oregon.
Speaker 6 (18:00):
Hi, my name is Hillary. I live in Abandon, Oregon,
and I suffer with severe migraine and there's nothing they
can give me that forceuticals to help with the pain
and deal with them. The sunshine is in summertime, it's
worse now. I was just seeing if there's anything that
(18:22):
you suggest maybe help me. I've taken the non in
juice now, so hopefully I'm in the right direction. Thank
you very much. Guy.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
All right, thank you for recall. Hillary. It sounds like
you're trying to be proactive in seeking some alternatives beyond
those pharmaceuticals for your migraines. So first, it's important to
recognize that the migraines, they can be triggered by a
number of factors, including those environmental changes like you mentioned
the increased sunshine exposure during the summer months, so the
(18:58):
sensitivity it can still them from light or heat. So
managing these triggers is essential for that migraine management plan.
You mentioned that you're currently trying nony juice, and nony
juice is it can It's known for its antioxidant properties,
that can potentially have those anti inflammatory effects. So nony
(19:21):
juice can help migraines if inflammation is one of the causes.
So it's worth noting that many individuals find nony juice
beneficial as part of that broader approach to managing these symptoms.
So if you want some other additional strategies and natural
alternatives that may you consider is like we said, to
identify those triggers. If you keep a food diary, it
(19:44):
can help you identify specific dietary triggers associated with migraines.
Some of these the common ones are culprits for migraines
or age cheeses, processed meat, alcohol, especially red wines, caffeine,
and artificial wh eateners. I also encourage you to focus
on incorporating foods rich in Omega three fatty acids like
(20:08):
salmon or walnuts. Colorful fruits and vegetables are high in
antioxidants like berries and leafy greens and whole grains into
your diet. As far as supplements go, I always recommend
magnesium for migraines. It can help reduce the frequency of
those migraines. Also, coenzyme Q that's an antioxidant that has
(20:28):
heart healthy and may help reduce the migraine frequency. And
also B two vitamin B two riboflav and it's a
supple one that's shown shown to reduce that migraine frequency
as well. So you're dressing it from several different angles
with this, the magnesium for muscles, the coenzyme Q ten
for heart healthy circulatory, and then the vitamin B two
(20:50):
for nervous system, you know. And again there's a lot
of different things that help with migraines. You can try
some essential oils like peppermint or lavender. Essential oils may
provide relief when applied topically on those temples or inhaled
through aromatherapy. They can have those common properties that ease
some of that tension there. And I also definitely I
(21:12):
want to recommend that you seek out treatments, whether that's
through chiropractic care or acupuncture. As many times correcting a
misalignment or balancing the body can help alleviate these headaches.
So I hope the information helps guide you on your journey.
That's a few options options for you to try. All right, folks,
(21:33):
if you've got questions, I want you to call us
dial our toll free hotline at eight hundred six or

doctor Bob, we're about to get into a health outrage.
But first I want to talk about something that's often overlooked,
and that's oral health. Did you know that your mouth
is the gateway for your overall wellness. That's why my
choice is the Spray Dental Defense System. It's not just
(23:14):
a product line, it's a science based solution for a
healthier smile. And the star of the show is xylotol.
It's a natural sweetener that doesn't just taste great. It
actively fights cavities, reduces plaque, and neutralizes bad breath. So
it's like having a shield for your teeth. And Spry
has perfected its use in every product, the toothpaste, mouthwash, gum,
(23:38):
im mince. So here's the science behind xylotol. Xylotol works
by starving harmful bacteria in your mouth, preventing them from
producing acid that erodes enamel. It also promotes saliva production,
which naturally cleanses and protects your teeth. Spry's products are
designed to work together creating a defense system for your mouth.
(24:01):
So if you want to know my routine, I brush
with Spry toothpaste, I rinse with Spry mouthwash, and I
chew Spry gum after meals. It's effortless, it's effective, and
it keeps my dentist impressed. So the best part you
can find Spry at CVS target sprouts in all natural
grocers' locations, the places that you already shop. And if
(24:24):
you want to dive deeper, visit Clear dot com. That's
spelled x L e R dot com. They're the brains
behind Spry and Clear nasal sprays. So trust me, your
teeth will thank you with Spry. It's time to take
control of your oral health with Spry, because a healthy
smile is a happy smile. All right, we're going to
(24:46):
get into our health outrage of the week, and I
want to play an audio clip for you of Governor
Ron Desantas, Governor of Florida talking about surgeries that are
being denied because the patient hadn't had their COVID vaccine.
And then he goes a little bit into further detail
on the where the trust of our healthcare system is today.
(25:09):
If we go ahead and play that this is just crazy.
Speaker 8 (25:13):
You'll have like some like fourteen year old girl that
needs some type of medical procedure and she'll go in
and if she hasn't gotten a flu shot or a
COVID JEB then they won't see her and they won't.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
Do the surgery.
Speaker 8 (25:27):
And I'm thinking to myself, how insane is that that
you're not willing to treat somebody. So some of these
policies that have been put in place and some of
these medical institutions are insane. So we said in Florida
and legislation, no, like if you need a lung transplant
or something, you know, they can't say, well, we'll only
do it if you do the COVID shot. It's irrational,
(25:49):
it's not based on any evidence to be doing that.
But that's something that's really really important to me. So
we've done a lot over the years to really, i think,
be on the right side of fighting against the hysteria.
The reality is is people these elites, they just lost
(26:10):
their way. I think some of them just probably didn't
really know what they were doing, but I think others
really saw that they were getting power for the first
time in their lives. This was kind of the super
Bowl for them, and they wanted to use that for
all they could, and they really abused their positions of
trust that so many had placed into them. And I
think the credibility of so many of these institutions and
(26:34):
so many of these it's done just totally up in
flames over how they handled the COVID nineteen pandemic. And
so we've you know, Joe Ladipoe has been has been great.
I think he's probably the only surgeon general who during
COVID said you know, the mask isn't going to save you,
that was willing to say, you know, all kids should
(26:56):
be in school, that was willing to say kids should
not be taking MNRA SHO all the things that really
cut against the medical establishment. And I think on every
instance he's been proven right on that. But you know,
it takes courage to do that. There's a lot of
professional blowback that happens when you stand up and do
what's right. So that has kind of I think crystallized
(27:18):
for so many people. Hey, there's a there's a lot
of issues that we got to deal with with medical
and medical freedom is something that we've got to be
very conscientious about protecting especially given how we've seen so
many elites lose their way. So Joe Ladipoe, myself the
first lady. You know, we've been pushing on a lot
(27:40):
of different fronts to be able to continue to advance
the ball. We have great announcement today, you know, regarding
kind of the state of Florida's efforts to continue to
promote policies that are that are linked to medical freedom.
Speaker 2 (27:57):
All right, that was Florida Governor Ron Desan tests and
he is not sugar coating it, and he's uh and
and I made this our health outrage because he's outraged
at there's there's really a lot to unpack here. He's
talking about the surgeries that are being denied because a
patient hadn't had the COVID vaccine and that's still happening
to today, and it's it's very alarming because I think
(28:20):
we've all know that the COVID vaccine was a big
was a big myths and and so we got that
going on. And then he goes on to further again
not sugar coating, and he's saying, these elitists, they this
is the first opportunity that they've had power in their
in their enjoying it and so it doesn't matter what
what kind of the effect has on our health. And
then it goes into more detail on just the trust
(28:43):
of the overall healthcare system today. And doctor Bob, I
know you have a lot to say on this, so
I'm going to let you talk.
Speaker 3 (28:50):
Okay, Well, yes, this is one of those topics which
we started talking about from the very beginning when they
rolled out the COVID debacle, the disaster that we knew
from the get go it was wrong. But mandating shots,
forcing people against their will to do something is not
(29:14):
only unethical, but it's evil. It's just flat out evil.
And so you know, we have been talking about this
for the years that it really opened up the can
of worms with COVID. But it gets back to what
is happening where people were being forced into doing things
and if they don't, you know, go along with it,
(29:35):
they're going to be denied something else, which is basically bribery.
It doesn't feel like it's the United States when something
like that happens here, at least to me personally, I
couldn't imagine it.
Speaker 5 (29:50):
I mean, there was a time when.
Speaker 3 (29:52):
My wife and I were trying to plan a cruise,
and we found out that in order to go on
this cruise, we had to have these vaccine cards. So
we said, the heck with the cruise. Why would we
take a COVID chot just to get on a cruise ship.
And then we found out we were listening to the
news one night and they were arresting people on Waikiki
(30:14):
Beach in Hawaii for not having masks on on the
beach outdoors.
Speaker 5 (30:19):
I mean, it's just it just.
Speaker 3 (30:21):
Doesn't get any crazier than this. And the medical profession
has been behind this, the pharmaceutical companies orchestrated it, and
we as the citizens, have had to put up with it.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
Dr Brockman, Yeah, yeah, it's you know, if you just
sit back and think as you know, as a as
a logical human beings that that most of us are.
It's just what we been doing. But hopefully it's gonna
hopefully it's gonna get better. And that's a that's what
we're striving to see out there. So all right, folks,
we only got We're gonna come back after the break
(30:53):
to get into a product. Recall, you're listening to the
Doctor Bob Martin Show.
Speaker 9 (30:59):
If you were tired to chronic pain. Stiff joints are
endless recovery from surgeries and medications. What if you could
heal naturally without risky procedures or breaking the bank. I'm
doctor Adam Brockman, and Nuvasel is changing the game. This
at home topical cream harnesses the power of stem cells

If you're a big sports fan like me, sometimes the
best part about watching a football game are the pre
and post game shows. Well, it's the same for probiotics.
The most important part of probiotics are the prebiotics and
post biotics that come along. Not all probiotics have this
superior combination. That's why I only buy Doctor o'heres probiotics.
Speaker 12 (33:17):
You see.
Speaker 11 (33:17):
Prebiotics feed the probiotic colonies and your intestines, and post
biotics are the organic nutrients produced by doctor o'heres three
year fermentation process that become the foundation for long term
colonization of the good bacteria in your body. This is
so important. No other probiotic formula has this. As I

it with our product recall of the week. This week,
(35:21):
the FDA issued urgent recalls for several everyday foods that
are linked to deadly outbreaks, raising alarms about the hidden
dangers in your grocery cart, from frozen meals to fresh produce.
Let's talk about some of the details explore how you
can protect yourself and your family. Four deaths have been
linked to frozen ready meals containing listeria. It's a bacteria
(35:43):
that's known for its severe and often fatal consequences. Walmart
and Trader Joe's have pulled these products from the shelves.
Similar cantalopes sold across the Midwest are under recall due
to potential listeria contamination and that echoes. The deadliest food
born outbreak in US history in twenty eleven, which claimed
(36:03):
thirty three lives. So experts are warning about these incidences
and they're not isolated. Doctor Ellen Schumacher of Food Safety
Specialists at North Carolina State University explains, quote, recalls happen
because of specific occurrences, whether it's sanitation issues or a
breakdown in the food safety culture of a processing facility.
(36:24):
Consumers must stay villaging unquote. So here's a breakdown of
the food food's experts say pose the biggest risk of
contamination of listeria. That's cantalopes. It's ready to eat meals
as frozen in prepackaged meals that are convenient, but often
are prepared in environments prone to contamination. The deli meats.
(36:45):
They're a breeding ground for listeria due to the handling
and storage in cool, damp environments. Last year, there's a
lisa outbreak associated with bore Heads brand Deli meats that
resulted in ten deaths in one miss carriage. Also included
with this lasteria outbreak are leafy greens and onions, ground
(37:07):
beef and poultry. And so if you're one to look
to protect yourself, I suggest you clean, you wash your hands, surfaces,
and utensils thoroughly. Before handling food and also separate those
foods by using cutting boards for separate ones for raw
meat and produce to avoid cross contamination and ensure meats
(37:28):
reach the recommended internal temperature to kill off harmful bacteria,
and also chill your foods refrigerate those perishable foods promptly
to prevent that bacterial growth. And while these recalls there
are safety measure, experts argue that the responsibility still lies
with the food producers to ensure safer practices. So this
(37:52):
product recall serves as a reminder of the hidden dangers
in our food supply, and if you're staying informed and
practicing those safe handling techniques, you can reduce your risk
of falling victim to sickness or even worse.
Speaker 3 (38:05):
Doctor Bob, Well, it just shows that we finally recognize
the importance of regulation. And most people who become ill
with food poisoning, like you said, doctor Brockman, it's due
to some sanitation hygiene contamination issue. I mean, whether it's
using refuse water basically sewage of being sprayed onto the crops,
(38:29):
or being cross contaminated coming in from another field that's
next to or adjacent to a field that's going to
be commercialized and brought to.
Speaker 5 (38:38):
The grocery store level.
Speaker 3 (38:39):
We just need to tighten the reins and tighten the
regulations and the oversight so that we're not allowing our
exposures to rise, and we rein in those companies who
violate the rules by shutting them down.
Speaker 2 (38:53):
M M yeah, So several foods on this lasteria outbreak.
All right, let's see if we can get to an
other call. A call from Louri from Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Speaker 13 (39:04):
Why this is Laurie calling from Colorado Springs, Colorado. I
have a friend who has a lot of pressure behind
his eyes and I don't know if it's high cholesterol
or what that would be in a real sensitivity to
light with his eyes. If you would call let me
(39:25):
know what we can do, I'd really appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (39:28):
All right, Thanks for your call, Laurie, and great looking
out for your friend who's having that eye pressure and
a strong sensitivity to light. So the possible causes of
that pressure behind that eye can be associated with things
like glaucoma, sinisiitis, and migraines. So, and you asked about cholesterol,
and while high cholesterol itself doesn't directly cause those specific symptoms,
(39:53):
it could contribute indirectly by affecting overall vascular health, leading
potentially towards conde like high pretension high blood pressure which
is linked to ocular issues, so other systemic conditions that
high pertension could elevate that innercranial pressure leading to discomfort
beyond the eyes. And sometimes neurological issues could result in
(40:16):
the sensations and that includes migraines or other headaches disorders
where light sensitivity is common. So my recommendations is consult
with an eye specialist and also get a comprehensive eye test,
eye exam, interocular pressure, montra, those symptoms and manage that
sensitivity and follow up with those cholesterol levels. You can
(40:39):
supplement with coyolaic age garlic extract. It has a cholesterol formula,
and also look for an eye supplement called Armed by
Wise Choice Medicine. We'll be right back. You're listening to

Welcome back?
Speaker 2 (43:23):
You're listening to the Doctor Bob Martin Show. I'm doctor
Adam Brockman, and we've reached our final stretch. And what
means it's time for our health mystery of the week.
All right, folks, our health. Mystory of the week is
how the brain decides which moments you'll never forget. I
want you to imagine that you're hiking through Yellowstone National Park.
(43:45):
You're enjoying the serene beauty of nature. Suddenly you stumble
upon a herd of majestic bison that are grazing peacefully.
That all inspiring moment, it etches itself into your memory.
But here's a twist. It's not just the you remember.
You also recall the rock you tripped over moments before,
the small animal that darts under the underbrush in even
(44:07):
the faint sound of a distant waterfall. Why. Because your
brain has a fascinating way of prioritizing memories that are
tied to emotionally charged events. A groundbreaking study from Boston
University that was published in September of twenty twenty five
reveals that ordinary moments gain stain power when they're connected
(44:28):
to a significant emotional experience. As researcher involved six hundred
and fifty participants in over ten individual studies, and they
used AI artificial intelligence to analyze the data, and the
team discovered that the brain selectively strengthens fragile memories that
overlap with meaningful events. So a study it introduces a
(44:48):
concept known as graded prioritization, where the brain rescues weak
memories based on their similarity to emotional events. For example,
if you win the lottery, you're likely to remember the
mundane details leading up to the event, like the coffee
you spilled on your shirt or the song that was
playing in the background. These memories are retroactively enhanced because
(45:11):
they're tied to that emotional high. So Reinhart's research that's
funded by the NIH, the National Institute of Health, and
other organizations opens the door to future studies interventions. The
findings They suggest that emotional events can be used to
stabilize or destabilize memories, offering hope for those struggling with
(45:31):
memory related conditions or even depression. So the next time
you find yourself recalling these insignificant details from a pivotal
moment in your life, remember it's not just random. Your
brain is working behind the scenes deciding which moments deserve
a permanent spot in your memory bank. Doctor Bob, will
(45:51):
you think of that?
Speaker 3 (45:53):
Well? I think anytime you are looking at trying to
figure out what the brain is all about, how it works,
it's going to be a mystery. We know so little
about the human brain. That this and the other ones
that we have done on this show.
Speaker 5 (46:09):
Related to the brain.
Speaker 3 (46:11):
They're going to be figuring these things out for a
long long time because we know so little about it.
Speaker 5 (46:16):
And the more we know, the more we realize we
don't know.
Speaker 2 (46:20):
That is for certain, and that's the brain. It is
the ultimate health mystery, right So remember, folks, your health
is your greatest asset. Don't gamble it away on empty
promises or quick fixes, Stay informed, stay empowered, and keep
fighting for the care you deserve. This is doctor Adam
Brockman signing off with Doctor Bob Martin for the Doctor
Bob Martin Show.
