memory loss that is Alzheimer's or some other form of Alzheimer's,

same thing, and eventually they lost their ability to think

where you put your keys, names, places, things that you
easily were able to remember before. You can't now why
you're losing your cognition, your brain function, your executive function
in your brain. What can you do about it? Plenty,

Dida I well, one major study in the Landset Journal,

a very prejudiced, very prestigious medical journal, published a study
and they found that more than a dozen of the
most common risk factors for dementia are modifiable, which means changeable.
You can change your way and save your brain. Yeah,

that includes your diet. What you eat, what you put
in your mouth may be sabotageding your health your brain
and you don't even know it. Your doctor's not talking
about it, mostly because doctors don't have any clue about
dietary changes and or nutrition because it's not part of
the medical learning curve. However, other doctors who have gone

outside of their standard medication standard education are interested in
it because they see all these studies coming out and
so they've jumped back in and received postgraduate training in
functional medicine integrated medicine. But the good news is other
forms of healthcare providers already know this stuff and have

access to this information and practice it on a daily basis.
We're talking about doctors like nature pathic doctors, chiropractic physicians,

This is great news, folks, for people who were told

found that people at risk of developing dementia improve their

can do yourself and including they found if you exercise
on a regular basis, that can also derail your potential

within your control of what you do on a daily basis,
you have the ability to save your brain and save
your memory, all those beautiful memories you've collected that you
want access to until the day you stop breathing. That's

a good thing. Some people keep breathing in the memory
you're completely wiped out due to a number of issues
related to dementia. Now, recent studies have shown foods. That's right,
foods we eat rich in nutrients like proteins and antioxidants,

you heard me talking about the fact that they're now
realizing that certain foods in our diet, particularly breakfast foods,

perhaps can protect our brain, our brains from memory loss
and dementia, which is on the rise. Millions and millions
of people being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Nobody ever thinks
they're gonna get it. Everybody thinks, well, that happens to
gramdmas and grampaws. It's not gonna happen to me, these
(13:07):
people in their twenties, thirties, forties, and fifties, I'll never
get it. In fact, my brain as sharp as a deck.
People claim that and then suddenly boom, they're diagnosed with
dementia of some sort. We don't want that. We want
to protect you. That's what this show is all about,
helping you to become your own best doctor. Most of

the time by searching out gathering and putting into action
information and knowledge and protecting your health. Your health is
your wealth. So I'm getting ready to and I told
you during that last segment to be prepared with writing
something down some information about certain foods that if you

consume them, if you eat them on a regular basis,
particularly let's say breakfast foods, you can actually help your
brain function better and protect it. It's like swallowing health
insurance in the form of your food. So let's start
with that. Now, we see these recent studies that have
shown that foods that are rich in protein, antioxidants, B vitamins,
(14:11):
carbohydrates can reduce the risk of most of these dimensions.
Let's start with eggs, the simple egg that has been
demonized for years by the medical profession telling you that
if you eat eggs, your cholesterol will go up, which
is nonsense, and if your cholesterol goes up, you'll die,
(14:35):
which is more nonsense. We've talked about it on this
show for years. All that was about was a play
towards getting you to another pharmaceutical to counter that rise
in your cholesterol that's going to kill you caused by
a food that really doesn't cause that. Eggs eggs are good,
(14:58):
especially when they're arm raised and organic and all of that.
We'll get to that. But eggs, which were long demonized
for high fat and cholesterol in particular, are enjoying a
big health renaissance, in part thanks to this radio show
informing people that they're not that bad. In fact, they're good.
They're a great food, and they contain brain healthy amino

acids and vitamins. In fact, when you have an egg,
it's it's like eating a multi vitamin. It's got so
many nutrients your brain needs. So eggs are good. I'm
gonna tell you which ones are and how to prepare
them during this information that we're providing for you here
on the radio show. Let's move on to the next category. Though,
(15:45):
berries and dark leafy greens. You should of course include that.
We all hear that how important vegetables are in the diet.
We don't get enough as Americans, and the vegetables we
get are often nutrition less, so make sure they're organic.
You can get them at natural grocery stores nationwide, or
if you can't find a natural grocery store, you can
certainly purchase pulverized in powder form. Organic fruits and vegetables

and add it to your water and just drink them,
kind of like Doctor Tony's greens or the pomegranate that
Doctor Tony talked about on this radio show not long ago.
So important are these antioxidants to protect the brain cells
responsible for memory, shielding your memory by decreasing levels of inflammation.

That's where it's at. That's the smoking gun. Shut down
the inflammation, protect the brain. Protect the brain with food,
thinking like it's shielding the brain cells from the damage
that inflammation can do. So you need the right foods
and even and I gotta say this, even pure dark
(16:55):
chocolate of course without any of the cane sugar or
little of it, improve blood flow to the brain and
boost functioning of your brain even when you are a
seasoned citizen. Just make sure that that chocolate, that chocolate
that you're eating is quality chocolate. I'm not talking about
junk food, Hershey's or any of the other stuff. I'm
(17:17):
talking about quality chocolate that has like a level of
a minimum of seventy CACW percent seventy percent COCW and
little or no sugar. And maybe try to find a
chocolate that has been sweetened with maybe stevia or some
other sweetener that's much healthier for you than shoegar. Let's
(17:42):
get back to the eggs, though, so that you're clear
on this. Eggs are a key feature. Most of us
know this from the standard American diet, which is fine,
with more than one in three adults claiming they have
them for breakfast. I do on a weekly base. In fact,
I remember talking about this years and years ago when

I practiced in Denver, Colorado, and researchers were up in
the mountains trying to locate this reclose man who is
living up there. Some hikers stumbled on him and talked
to him, and he said, I've been up here for
thirty years. Nobody knows I'm here, And they go, how
(18:25):
have you survived up here in the mountains of Colorado
all these years without any grocery stores and so forth
around you? Well, I have it. Chickens. I raised chickens.
That's what I eat. I eat thirty eggs a day. Oh,
thirty eggs a day. These people came off the mountain.
The hikers came off the mountain and reported this to
(18:46):
health authorities in Denver, saying, this man's up on that mountain.
He's gonna kill himself. He's eating thirty day, thirty eggs
a day, and we all know that eggs are bad
for you. So sure enough, the researchers found their way
to where he was living and went in deep into
the mountains in Colorado, and he agreed to give his
(19:10):
blood to them to check him out, and they found
his cholesterol was perfectly normal on thirty eggs a day.
What's that tell you, Well, it tells you that the
pharmaceutical companies have been successfully brainwashing Americans that if you
eat eggs are going to be unhealthy. And the reason
why your cholesterol is high is because you're deficient in
(19:32):
your diet in statin drugs, which is bogus. And we
have talked about that for years on this radio show.
Eggs are good, it's and cholesterol is good as long
as it's not oxidized. That's the key. Oxidized cholesterol small particle. Yeah,
those things can be tested for the standard test. As
(19:53):
I kind of deviate here, the standard test for cholesterol
being high means absolutely nothing. Total cholesterol means absolutely In fact,
people live longer who have high total cholesterol than people
who have perfect cholesterol. It's true. Look up the evidence
for yourself. But eggs, we know are a key feature
in the American diet. One in three adults claiming to

have them every day for breakfast. And one large egg
is really the equivalent of about one hundred and fifty milligrams
of an important nutrient that is brain saving. And this
is where the egg in your diet saves your brain,
reduces your risk of dementia losing your memory. Coline is
the nutrient eggs are replete with something called coleine. About

a quarter of all recommended daily value of coleine into
the American diet comes from eating one egg. Coline is
estam is an essential nutrient also found in protein sources
such as and you should be eating these as well, salmon.
If you're gonna eat beef at all, make sure it's
beef that is not full of antibiotics and other hormones.

Get the organic stuff chickens the same way. They all
support memory, mood, and muscle control. It's thought also eggs
to boost your neurotransmitters. We're talking about coline now, which
comes mostly in eggs and other foods. A neurotransmitter called acedocholine,

breakfast foods and foods in general reducing your risk of
brain problems. If we've talked about eggs, eggs are rich
in brain healthy nutrients like coaline, which supports memory and learning.
In fact, a study in the Journal of Nutrition found

that older adults who consume more than one egg per
week had a swopping forty seven percent reduce risk of
dementia compared to those who had less than one egg

the topic. You might be saying to yourself, What's what's
doctor Bob? Why is he staying on this topic so
much about breakfast foods and memory and eating certain things
(36:17):
to protect our memory. Because it's so huge we eat
every day, we have to think every day. We might
as well do it in an optimal fashion. Right, I'm
just reminding you what the research says, not something I
made up. This is solid scientific information. For example, big
study a couple of years ago out of the University
of Cincinnati found that adults between the ages of fifty
(36:40):
and sixty five who ate a cup of strawberries make
sure you get organic strawberries. Because strawberries are one of
the most pesticide laden fruits. They're on the Dirty dozen list.
Do not eat conventional strawberries. You might as well be
just eating pesticides because it's full of pesta sides. There's
(37:00):
at least twelve or thirteen in each strawberry in a
conventional store. But if you go into like natural grocers
where it's one hundred percent USDA certified organic, nothing, no pesticides,
you're gonna be not going to be consuming any of that,
or your family is not being fed raid basically on
your strawberries. But strawberries are important. Those people who ate

strawberries for twelve weeks performed better with memory tests and
had fewer symptoms of depression in those who were in
the placebo groups. So they tested it and they know
this is science. Those researchers are also published a recent
study in the journal Nutrients that found that regular consumption

of blueberries reduced signs of cognitive decline. Make sure you
get the yes, that's right, organic blueberries. You're not getting
any pesticides or fungicides. Berries are the staple of the
mind diet and d accommodation. The Mediterranean and DASH which

stands for Dietary Approaches to Stopping hypertension diets which prioritizes
anti inflammatory foods. There's the key, and we talked earlier
also about dark chocolate. Eating it in moderation, dark chocolate
has been shown to lower your risk of dementia. Dark
chocolate is rich in things like flavonoids, compounds found in

plant based foods that have antioxidant and anti inflammatory properties,
much like berries, and these flabonoids also increase the blood
flow to the brain, preventing damage and improving overall functions.

or no sugar is the way to go. Now we

need to get to the carbohydrates which have been demonized
by the carnivores, by the stuck on beef people, Whole
grains and nuts, like eggs, carbs, carbohydrates have long been
considered a nutritional boogeyman due to the risk of weight

gain and high blood sugar and diabetes. High glucose. Of course,
blood sugar levels can damage your brain cells and blood
vessels in the brain, potentially leading to dunemnia. But whole grains,
I'm talking about one hundred percent not your you know,
captain crunch, not your uh what is it? Cocoa puffs

and all that junk food you see in this in
this cereal aisle in a conventional grocery store. I'm talking
about one hundred percent organic wheat, one hundred percent amaranth,
one hundred percent steal oats, one hundred percent seed like
grains such as millet and quinewaw contain complex carbohydrates, which
are easily to die, easy to digest, They slowly digest,

which means that they don't spike your blood sugar, and
