of doctor Troy, whose words are sure to challenge, uplift

message for today. No matter where you find yourself in life,

(00:27):

it's something to live. Today. Open your heart and let
truth transform you because in his radiance we find strength, hope,
and renewal. Get ready to step into the warmth of
his promises, the power of his presence, and the depth
of his love. Let's begin.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Hello and welcome. I'm doctor Troy. There is an interesting
story heard and they gave the summation of it, and
I thought, you know, it's way more profound than that.
And the story is this. There is a young child
who goes to a martial arts studio and asked the
master to train them. The master immediately noticed that they

(01:20):
did not have a right arm and after staring at
the young child for what seemed like an eternity, the
master nodded his head and said, yes, I will train you.
And so the young student goes to work and begins
to train. The master trains him every day. Eventually, the

(01:41):
master finally feels he is ready to learn his first move,
and he teaches him the move and he commands him
to practice it every day. After a year or two
of practice, the master sees that he has become quite proficient,
and he now tells him you are ready for a tournament.

(02:01):
And the student is aghast and scared and thinks, how
there's no way I cannot do it, And the master
looks at him and assures him, you are ready. And
so as the tournament day approaches, the student becomes more
and more afraid, but the master assures him. Soon the
tournament day comes and the master kneels down, tucks in

(02:24):
his right sleeve, and ties his belt, and he says,
go and do what you've been trained to do. So
the first match he wins, and quite effortlessly, and he's amazed,
and he's encouraged and he's hopeful. And the next match
comes and yet again he wins and almost effortlessly, and

(02:48):
he is much less concerned and more hopeful. Finally, the
third match, the semi final, comes and he wins again,
and he can't believe it. Now the final match approach
and he is nervous again. He is scared, and the
master assures him and he goes out and he does

(03:08):
his move and wins and wins the tournament. And he
goes to his master, Master, I don't understand how did
I win? And he said the move that I taught
you is its only defense is to grab the opponent's
right arm. Now, on the surface, we might laugh and giggle, Oh,

(03:32):
of course, how funny, but it is way way more
meaningful than just simply saying, hey, you got to just train.
That's the moral of the story. You just need to
give it your all and trust. That's the moral of
the story. You just need to have a good master
who can see your your greatness. That's the moral of

(03:57):
the story. But the story is much much.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Better than that.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Each opponent was the adversary, and the adversary had no
defense against his move because he had nothing that he
could attach himself to. So therefore the adversary had no
power over him. What in the world. Do you have

(04:25):
that the enemy can attach to and drag you down?
What things are you holding onto that you don't want
to let go of that the enemy effortlessly can grab
hold of your arm and now defeat you. So we

(04:46):
have this beautiful story of the rich young ruler going
up to the master and he says, Master, I want
to follow you, And Jesus looks at him and says,
go and everything you have, and then come follow me.
And the young rich man looked down and was downcast,

(05:11):
for he had great wealth and he could not let go.
So many of us. The wealth that we have is
in the thoughts that we think of ourselves. We think
that we are right in thinking that we are not
good enough, not strong enough, not complete enough, not wise enough,

(05:33):
not capable enough. I don't have any skills, and we
think all these things. I'm a bad person, I'm garbage,
nobody wants me, why would you want me to I'm unwanted,
I'm undesirable, I'm insignificant, I'm so small. What could you

(05:58):
possibly do with this guard? Garbage, heap. It is these
things that we should sell immediately, But as also the
other things. Look at how amazing I am Look at
how much wealth I have, Look at the car I drive,
look at the house that I live in. These things too,

(06:19):
should be sold proverbially, and then come follow the master.
When you do not mind whatever happens to your stuff,
you now have left attachment behind. One of the hallmarks
for happiness is non attachment, and it is so easy

(06:42):
to attach to all kinds of things. My good looks
are fading. My body is fading. My muscles are fading,
my flat washboard's stomach is fading. My skin, how beautiful
it was, is fading. Eyes and my hair are fading.

(07:03):
My abilities to do and work long hours are fading.
As we grow older and we have this midlife crisis,
who realize this is not going to get any better
over time. You have attachments, my friend, that need to
be let go of. Begin to wear this world more loosely.

(07:23):
The sooner you do so, the happier you will be,
and the more victory you will gain. So what is
the world trying to attach or grab on to you with?
Will you let that go? All of your fears, all

(07:45):
of your puffed up pride, all your dependence on the
things that you think are protecting you. Will you let
it all go and just be and be lead and
listen and allow the spirit, allow God himself to move
you in ways you never thought possible, into ways and

(08:08):
ideas and places you scarcely even realized could be happening.
It is a wonder and a beautiful time. Until next time,
I'm doctor Troy, and remember you have nothing to do,
only something to see.
