Speaker 1 (00:01):
This is the Drive and Dish podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Welcome to To start it off, it's just let's go.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
We've got the free agency in full effect here. And
I gotta say before we get into all because that's
obviously what we're gonna talk about this episode. We also
want to hit on the Mike Brown stuff. We're gonna
warm up with that, but I just want to say,
seven team trade feels like you forced it, Like you're
(00:36):
just at this point, come on, like, dude, that's like
our friend group in fantasy Fantasy Football did a seventeam trade.
It's because everyone just flipped second rounders because he got
too damn confusing. And even then I was kind of
convinced someone was trying to screw me over, you know
what I mean, the way hard on who threw in
(00:56):
a first round or hopeing no one's gonna notice. Team
is so aggressive, and you look at it, some teams
are just like getting cash cash considerations. And you did
this so you could say you did a seventeen deal.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Well, you know what it looked like, right, It looked
like that episode had always Sonny when Charlie's like got
everything on the white board behind him and he's frantically
pointing like, yeah, no, I mean it really is what
I mean, it's it's historical. It's the first time in
the NBA trade has ever featured seven teams.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
You're telling me you couldn't split this up and do
like a three and a four team deal, Like I
promise you this all didn't have to be under one
on brow.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
They all saw the free agency signings and said, hey,
you know what, maybe we just trade with each other
if it's gonna happen anyway. But it is a hilarious
image to just think about these like see all these
trades going down, and the thought of multiple gms being
like randomly be like, you know what, let's make some history.
Let's seventeen trade right now.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
It's so stupid, so stupid. Either way, well, we'll get
into all that. We did want to jump in first,
at least with Mike Brown being being on the Knicks
for the coach he landed forty million dollar contract. It's
worth mentioning Thibbs is still owed thirty mil after the firing.
Does Mike Brown move the needle more than tips in
(02:16):
your opinion?
Speaker 2 (02:17):
You know, yes and no. It's funny, like I'm a
little above a push on it. Like, here's the thing
with Mike Brown, He's kind of like, we know what
Mike Brown is at this point, Like he's one coach
of the year. I did it recently obviously with Sacramento,
did a pretty good job there his first few years.
It definitely lost steam at the end. Who knows whether
(02:38):
that was because of Mike or whether that was because
of the team a little bit, it did feel like
they did. They looked a little better with Doug Christy
at the end of the season, but that's neither here
nor there. Like, I think Mike is a good NBA coach.
I don't want to sound like I'm downplaying this higher.
I don't think this is bad higher by the Knicks
at all. I think Mike if if like I would
have liked somebody a little more splashy, I guess, but
(03:00):
I think Mike is safe.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
At the same time, when you're moving on from Thibbs,
like you gotta go for that splash because it's literally
just pretty much got you the furthest you've been in forever.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
I know. But that's also like the weird conundrum that
I have with Tibbs though, right and like just we've talked,
you know, we've beaten this topic to death, but it
is weird because it's like, you're right, how do you
fire the guy that just got you to the conference finals?
But there is a part of me that's like, no,
we know what Tibbs flaws are at this point, Like
it does feel like those flaws aren't going to be fixable. Now.
(03:31):
I will say, even with those flaws in this year's
Eastern Conference, it may not have mattered. But I mean
that's also kind of the reason I like the Mike
Brown higher, Like I think it's gonna shake it up
a little bit. It already feels like in free agency
with that, the Knicks are going with more depth, Like
obviously they just signed our boy Gershan Yabuseli, who was
phenomenal for the Sixers last year, Like they got him
on a good cheap contract, Like that's the type of
(03:52):
swing that they should be swinging or going for. Like
I don't know, I don't think Mike Brown is significantly
better than Tims as a coach, So but that also
makes it sound like I'm way more low on the
higher than I am. Like I could see Mike Brown
sparking this squad and obviously like his rotations will be
a little deeper there, and that was the Knicks problem.
Like I could very much see Mike Brown taking this
(04:15):
NIXT team to the finals this year. So it's also
hard for me to be like, oh, well, that's a
bad higher, Like no, I think it's a good high.
I don't think it's like one that really it's not
Mike Malone. I personally would have liked to see them
take a swing on Taylor Jenkins a little more, just
because again, like I don't feel like Taylor Jenkins did
a bad job in Memphis, Like I feel like, if anything,
he kind of like adjusted that lineup. But and Mike
(04:38):
is so much more of a non quantity at this point,
like he's had head coaching gigs in Cleveland in the past,
like he has been in the NBA for twenty plus
years now. But yeah, I don't know. I like it's
a B plus higher to me. I guess that's where
I'm at.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
And I guess it all comes down like again, and
I know everyone jokes about this with the NBA in general,
it's like it will come down to the playoffs, right,
Like Brown since the Cleveland years, has two playoff appearances
and and one playoff series win. That's concerning to me
(05:12):
when you know that's more than the goal for the
Knicks next year, Like, that is way more than the goal.
And I know a lot of the teams he was
on were rebuilding or in rough situations, and obviously the
Kings thing he was able to end the sixteen season
playoff drought, Like, I just don't feel like that in
a playoffs is a significant We gotta move on from
(05:37):
Thibb's upgrade. And I guess that's my point.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
No, you're right, and it is. It's weird because you're right.
If I had said that on its face too, I'd
be like, yeah, it's kind of like doing the same
thing more or less, like you're just rearranging the deck chairs.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
A little value in that, Like I get it. Sometimes
there's value in just saying it differently or doing it differently.
Maybe you see some more success. But it's like, I
don't know, man, I saw it and I was like, okay, sure,
kind of like the Lonzo ball stuff. I'm like, okay, what.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Yeah, sure, No, I know it's it's again. I keep
saying it over and over again. It's a weird move
for me to evaluate because I'm with you, like, there
is a part of me that's like, this is just
kind of a black higher. But then the other part
of me is like, you know, Mike could mess around
and half them in the finals this year, and if
there are the finals this year, how do you bash
that higher? Then?
Speaker 3 (06:31):
Oh? And I will fully hate it because I'll be like,
you had an easy road because Boston's hurt. Pacers are hurt.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
The are hurt, hear you, but you got players in
running you Like, what are you gonna do?
Speaker 3 (06:43):
Sure? But if Orlando's the top three in the East
next year, it's the whole thing's in astras.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
Orlando's gonn at first off, that's insane because Orlando's actually
got a good squad going in next year. And I
don't care. I'm gonna turn to the Orlando stand just
off you being the Orlando hater. That's what's crazy. No,
I think, And it is definitely gonna be a top
three team in the East next year, are you kidding?
Like they're gonna be right there? The Knicks to me
are the favorite genuinely right now.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
I gotta I just because I'm a visual. I gotta.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
I think. I think the other teams that are going
to be right there. I think, even though I think
they're frauds until they prove me otherwise. I think Cleveland
still is a good regular season team, and I think
they're going to be right there. I think that it
looks Bucks will see I don't know a lot of
their books are tied up. Pistons. I do like Pistons
(07:32):
got a shot for.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
Sure landover Pistons. I mean they were only get separated
last year.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
With desm Bane. I do. I like that a lot.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
Yeah, I probably say I'm with you. Knicks Caves are
probably top two. I probably was still leaning a little
bit Giannis and Bucks there there's a lot of change,
so definitely got to see it. But that's probably my
top three. And then after that would be like Pistons,
Magic and and and god. I almost want to say sixers,
(08:03):
just because I don't know what it'll look.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
You have to like, yeah, I think like in theory,
if you get everybody back health, a bunch of changes,
like we're well, we're gonna talk about the Hawks, like
I got a low key The Hawks are off my
slander list. They've been like my mediocre franchise list and
like the epitome of that. And I've been like pairing
them with the Bulls. Yeah, no, I mean we talk
about the Hawks. The front office might be onto something
like we talked a little bit last week in the
(08:25):
draft about how much we like that trade with the
Pelicans for them, but like I like their free agency
a lot so far too.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
So maybe there is a level of let me backtrack
and say, Pistons magic Hawks are in that next tier
below the top three in my opinion, and I'm not
sure who out of that three I want to put over.
I kind of want to go Pistons just to be
a Magic hater a little bit more. But but but
that's just more out of being petty.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Going back to the Knicks, do you like the you
like the Jordan Clarkson pick up?
Speaker 3 (08:56):
I guess so, yes, because then you can kind of
stagger some minutes and give a little more rest. Again,
like that comes down to the whole Knix conversation of
you need depth a little bit more, so like yes,
I can get behind that, because you need to give
your star players time to be off ball or maybe
a time to sit on the bench a little bit.
More because that's literally what it looked like, at least
in the playoffs, is that the Knicks just fully ran
(09:18):
out of gas.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
Yeah. I mean, Jordan Clarkson's been having Jordan Clarkson time
in Utah for the past like four or five years,
which is like, that's great, That's exactly what a gunner
like Jordan Clarkson should do, Like that's his ideal situation.
I do like that pick up for the Knicks, thoughy right,
Like it goes back to depth, like again, you get him,
you get Yabo. We know the starting five is good,
Like there's no question about that. When they all played together,
(09:39):
like those minutes with Brunson in Towns and yeah, why
am I blank right now? Michael Bridges, you know, the
guy's Josh Hart, et cetera. It feels like they've been
good in those minutes OG especially, I love OG still,
you know, Mitch Robinson is coming back. I still feel
like they need another big Honestly, getting Yaboo was good.
(10:01):
I feel like they need like somebody that can kind
of like almost a stretch for in a way, like
like a wing type off the bench. But yeah, I
don't know. I mean, I do feel good about this roster.
Like I've said, I already liked the depth a little
more than I did last year, just off the pickup
of Clarkson and Yaboo alone. So they are they're the
favorites to me. Like the only way they wouldn't like
(10:22):
that was the only big question mark with the Knicks
is like if they went out and left field and
hired somebody that just didn't feel like a really good coach.
But again, I think Mike is solid enough to do
a good job. Is he a lot better than Timm's
I don't know, Honestly, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
Yeah, I mean if you like still owe the guy
thirty mil, then it's like, well, what are we doing?
Like Tim's the dream?
Speaker 2 (10:42):
Hey, Tim's live the dream. Maybe nothing wrong with that.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
My man's probably use that cash, you know what I mean,
Like I hear you feel weird about it?
Speaker 2 (10:50):
Yeah, it's me and cash. We got talked about the bucks,
but books in a little bit. But you know, we'll
dive into free agency a ton here on this episode
of the Driving Dish NBA podcast. Welcome everybody. My name
is Kevin. If he was joining me as always, my
co host Justin Kuzart.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
Never thought I'd be a math problem. Welcome to the NBA.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
I did see this today, so I'm cheating a little bit.
But yeah, Kevin love Man, that part of the Norman
Powell deal going down, and I mean, since you brought
it up, let's talk about it real quick. Norman Powell
going to the heat three way deal with Utah. John
Collins is headed to the Clippers. Are you surprised that
the Clippers are giving up on Norm Powell? Like, obviously,
this is what we're talking about, a career year for Norman.
(11:29):
He's in his thirties at this point, so like we know,
age certainly factors in, but I mean, he was phenomenal
for them last year and it feels like this is
a team that is still kind of going forward a
little bit. So I'm kind of surprised.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
I I'm with you. You know, last year playing thirty two minutes,
twenty one points per game, forty one percent three point percentage,
forty eight field goal assists, rebounds are kind of in
the middle as you'd expect from a shooting guard. But like, yeah,
it's definitely a little surprised to see go. Uh, maybe
it was one of those situations where you only got
(12:05):
one ball, and so you know, if you can go
get somebody that can focus on something else and let
James Harden shoot them ball a little bit more, then
maybe that's what we're doing. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
Well, you've got hardened back in the lineup. I mean
we're you're talking about the Bucks a little bit. You've
got uh, you've got Norm Powell or not Norm Powell.
Excuse me, obviously you have Norm Powell in this trade.
But Brook Lopez is coming over to the Clippers now too.
I really like Brook Lopez being the backup for for
zu Bots. Obviously u Bots phenomenal last year. Brook can
(12:34):
still stretch the floor a little bit, give them some optionality,
like again, another guy who's older, I mean at least
thirty seven years old at this point, but he'll he'll
give them quality minutes, and I for what it's worth,
I don't think like the big question I guess is
what are the Clippers gonna do next? Because I don't
think they're done. The two guys that you know come
to mind, or are Chris Paul who's still out there
(12:57):
and he says, you know, they flirting a little bit
with her tire Ironman on his own hasn't been confirmed anything,
but obviously a lot of familiarity with that organization. Chance
for him to come back home if the Sun's buy
out Bradley Beal, you wouldn't rule that out either, Like,
I mean, Bradley Beal certainly put himself in a situation
and I know, like you know, his stock is at
an all time low right now, but you know it's
(13:18):
still I think given the lower burden that would be
placed on him in LA, that would be a great
pickup for them.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
It was crazy to see how I don't want to
say how far he's fallen, but Duncan Robinson just being
like departing a free agency was kind of surprising to me.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
Like, I mean he was with Miami for what six
seven years? Now, I mean he's all I mean, no
matter what, Like just the fact that the guy was undrafted,
Like he's a huge success story just off that alone.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
In years seven years. Yeah, yeah, And I mean the
production's down a little but still I mean three point
percentage why he still almost had forty Like hit twenty three,
twenty four and twenty four to twenty five, he's got
thirty nine percent three point percentage, which is really all
you need out of him. Shouldn't about the same six
or seven a game, Like, you can definitely use that
and I think the Pistons will appreciate that production. But
(14:06):
but yeah, it just felt weird because of how uh,
you know, I guess core he felt to the Miami
Heat at one point.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
You know, yeah, no, for sure. I mean, look, he
was part of a bunch of finals runs obviously for them,
so he'll always like have a I feel like a
soft spot in Miami's heart there. I mean, look, norm
is gonna going back to that trade though, I mean
he's thirty two now, Like he's gonna probably try to
get one more contract. And so maybe that's what it
(14:36):
comes down to too when you're the Clippers, like you're
you're looking at this and you're either way, I'm just
maybe I'm surprised that it happened before the year started,
just because there's one more deal in that contract or
one more year on that contract. But either way, like
getting John Collins is not bad business for them though
either Like I do think you know he can rim run.
(14:58):
He'll fit well with what they're trying to do and
what Tyler lushries to do, so, you know, just surprised
a little bit.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
Yeah, yeah, I agree with you, especially from somebody that
had such a positive, almost underrated season.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
Yeah, definitely. I think he was one of the breakout
stars of last year, which is crazy. It can't for
a guy in at thirty. It doesn't usually happen that
often that you get a breakout like that, but leaves
some review on iTunes, good or bad, or read them
on the podcast. If you're not an Apple user, Google
Play store, speakers, Spotify, tune in, Amazon Music, player, FM,
anywhere you can find a podcast, you can find.
Speaker 3 (15:30):
Us, and we're on YouTube, Driving Dish NBA on YouTube
you can subscribe and watch the video version of the
podcast there.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
And now work more sponsors.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
So we are going to get a bit into winners
and losers of free agency. Loser for me right off
the rip is this sevent team deal because it's so
annoyingly frustrating to look at.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
You're back to the seventeen deal again. You really can't
let this one go, huh.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
I don't like it, man. It feels like they just
forced it to force it, So.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
Let me let me go over the terms of the
seven year deal real quick. So to break this all down,
the Rockets in this deal get Kevin Durant Clincapella. The
Sons get Jalen Green, Dylan Brooks, come on Milock, who
is number ten overall pick this year, Rasher Fleming, Kobe Bray,
who were respectively thirty one and forty one overall. De
Kwon Plowden a twenty twenty six second round and twenty
(16:23):
thirty two second round. The Brooklyn Nets get two second
round picks, one in twenty six, one in twenty thirty.
The Warriors get Alex Toohe and Jami Mushak, who are
fifty two and fifty nine overall. The Hawks get David
Roddy a twenty thirty one second in cash. The Lakers
get a dude tierro and cash. The Timberwolves get Roko Zakarski,
(16:44):
who was number forty five overall, a twenty twenty six
second round pick, a twenty thirty two second round pick, and.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
Of course cash. Dude, like read it and weep, like,
come on, that's that's so aggressive.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
Who's the most flagrant there getting in on that trade?
Speaker 3 (17:03):
Dude, I'd have to look at I gotta look at
it to get hold on, I.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
Think got no players. Brooklyn only got picked just money.
Speaker 3 (17:09):
Yeah, there was one that got like a player that
I hadn't heard of and like cash consideration. So I
was like, why are you guys even in this.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
It's a lot of the draft this year, Like a
bunch of second rounders from the draft this year again,
like one, two, three, four, five, six, Seven players that
were drafted this year involved in this trade again at
a sixty. It's not an insignificant amount.
Speaker 3 (17:29):
But what I mean, dude, it's like, dude, come on, yeah,
okay here, hold on, I got it. Let's see. Hold on,
let me look at this real quick. Yeah, the Hawks
you got a thirty. You were in there for cash
a player in a twenty thirty one second round pick,
Like that's so aggressive.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
Gotta be in position, man, got to find a way.
Speaker 3 (17:50):
Hold on, I want to be in this.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
Like, hey, listen, pick up a phone. He said, Hey,
I hear the six of you here. I'm coming over
to what if what's up? You're leaving me out?
Speaker 3 (17:58):
Like, dude, that's twenty thirty one too, it's not evening closed.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
Yeah, if we are going to be I know this
is where you all super expected us to start in
free agency. But like if I'm gonna play the Orlando Homer,
I really do like the Tias Jones pick up for them.
I think that's a really good like they needed a
backup guard like that. He's obviously not going to be
asked to do too much. He'll get the ball in
Paolo and Franza's hands where they need to be. So
(18:24):
it's only one year or two so.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
Well, And I do want to backtrack a little bit
to last last week when we recorded, right, there was
a few trades that came through. I think that was
well when we recorded, that would have been the twenty thirtieth,
maybe twenty six I got it right now, twenty ninth,
twenty ninth when we recorded, or twenty eighth whatever on
(18:48):
that Saturday. Yeah, but right as we did that was
when the Lonzo ball with the Cavs trade came out
with a Coro And it's just like just because we
missed it and it literally happened like thirty minutes after.
Like that trade does literally nothing for me other than
I'm like, Dabs, what are you doing? Why?
Speaker 2 (19:10):
Yeah? Yeah, I mean, look, Lonzo's still got plenty of upside.
Like again, obviously injuries have still been like that's been
the story of it. But Okoro is a good wing
for them, but like his minutes have kind of dropped
to recently with that rotation. So I get kind of
taken the swing there, I mean, honestly, as we're getting
to call him on the landline. Honestly, I think the
(19:34):
biggest thing too, is like you got to shake it
up a little bit here, you know, just can you
frees stop for me. I'm just gonna go turn this
phone off real quick.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
Yeah, you're good. So you know, you look at ball
seven points, three rebounds, three assists and thirty five games.
Obviously the injuring he missed a lot of time because
the knee injury. Twenty seven year old. Now you look
at a Crow who lost a lot of playoff minutes
(20:03):
or lost minutes in the playoffs. He was playing about
fourteen minutes in the playoffs he logged or was closer
to twenty minutes in the regular season, which could be
part of what many could think is a bit of
what was going on with the Cavs in the UH.
In the UH in the playoffs there when they scored
or posted their second best record in the NBA in general,
(20:26):
so like to me, I agree Korro had a little
bit of a slip at least in the playoffs last year,
has two years remaining of his contract. It just it
just feels a little weird because it feels like now
Ball and Mitchell, like, it just feels like there might
be a little bit of a log jam there.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
You switched studios and you got home both My parents
are like the last one of my parents spot. It's
like some of the last like people with landlines of all time,
like and I look like Loki, I get it, like
why you have it still once in a while, but
I'm just cracking out. I'm like, who's calling you still
on this? Like, if it's not one of us, who's
calling you still? Right?
Speaker 3 (20:59):
Right? It's spam for sure. Spam.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
Yeah, yeah, no doubt about it. But all right. Other
moves that I liked a lot during free agency, I
do Denver. I really like what Denver's done, you know,
getting out of the Michael Porter Junior deal, who frankly,
like it feels like he's a declining stock at this point.
You know, you bring Tim Hardaway Junior in, who obviously
(21:26):
is phenomenal for Detroit last year a big part of
their turnaround. Going out again. Cam Johnson too, who has
been obviously like one of the names that you know,
we talked about him being one of the bigger names
on the trade block last year. Like you go out
and you essentially have him to come in and play
the Russell Westbrook role instead. Like, to me, that's a
massive upgrade. This Valanchutas situation is interesting because so Sacramento
(21:48):
traded Jonas Valentotis to Denver, and so my initial thought was, Wow,
that's a great yet for them. I really like him
in the backup big spot, like playing behind Jokic. Obviously
he's gonna be like heavy minutes, but we know Jonis can,
Like is it more thank back up big? He apparently
was entertaining offers in Greece, like trying to go back overseas,
and like, obviously they're throwing a lot of money in him.
Not not too big of a surprise there. But I
(22:11):
also look back and I go, hey, you know, you
look around and Denver apparently is going to enforce this contract.
So it'll be interesting to see how that plays out.
I don't really know if he can get out of it. Like,
you know, I know I've been doing a law a
little bit, but that that's a little above my pay grades.
(22:31):
So either way, I mean, if he ends up sticking around,
it's a great get for Denver. I really like him
in that backup spot.
Speaker 3 (22:38):
Well, I guess I almost want to go back and
just like talk about Michael Porter Junior's time with Denver
now that it's over, Like, how do you feel you know,
obviously didn't play his first year because of injury. I
think it was fifty five games. In the next year
sixty one nine, sixty two, eighty one, seventy seven. So
(23:00):
the back end here at twenty five and twenty six
started hitting almost the full season, and in those you know,
we're seeing about eighteen points per game last year, sixteen
points per game the year before that, almost a forty
percent shooting percentage, which is the same as what we were
talking about earlier, just because we brought him up Duncan
Robinson O. They're very similar, at least in the percentages
and the amount that are being shot. So, like I
(23:22):
do wonder what how Denver will look back at Michael
Porter Junior's time with the team as a what they got,
What they wanted, or if it was just kind of
a disappointing move.
Speaker 2 (23:36):
I mean, I think it's both right, Like it's never
gonna be a failure because I mean, first off, a
great pick by them. Going back to when he was drafted,
I mean, the injury risk was there, but I mean
this is a guy who if he hadn't got hurt,
he probably like I mean, he probably goes two three
that year he got drafted, Like that was exactly the
(23:57):
type of big swing that Denver needed, and like, look,
you want to championship. He won a championship with him
playing heavy minutes, Like I think there will always be
a little bit of there was meat left on the bone.
Like he got the max contract, and you know, it
felt like part of the problem with this team is
that we know what Jokich was doing. Jamal Murray when
he was healthy, was stepping up. It just felt like
(24:17):
Porter would it just never became that third guy that
you could consistently rely on. Like if anything, it felt
like Aaron Gordon became the more reliable player on that
Denver team. But you're paying it. You know, you're paying
Porter junior max money and so to that point, like
he has to be that guy and he never quite
became that, but again, he won a championship with him,
(24:38):
So like, I don't think I don't think anyone's ever
going to look back and go, hey man, the Michael
Porter Junior pick bad pick, wasn't worth it? Like, no,
it was definitely worth it for Denver. I just think
there's a large amount of people like it's a what
if a little bit where it's like, man, you just
you wonder what he could have been, and now I do,
I wonder what Michael Porter Junior becomes.
Speaker 3 (24:59):
Yeah, yeah, no, I agree with you. I just it
was curious about that since obviously that kind of ends
a bit of an error for Michael Porter Junior with
Denver a little bit too.
Speaker 2 (25:08):
I mean, and Brooklyn is a good pick or a
good fit for him if he's gonna like look, that's
a spot where there's there's no expectations right now, like
maybe he gets back on track in a bigger role.
It becomes the star that they need him to be.
And Brooklyn looks super smart. I'm a little surprised that
this is what they moved on for Cam Johnson for like, again,
I know he's still super young, like Michael Porter Junior
(25:30):
is like twenty five. I think maybe twenty six, but
little surprising. It feels like they could have gotten more
maybe at one point, like when his stock was so high.
I love it for Denver though, like great debt for Denver, Man, Denver,
this was the reload that they needed. Like I feel
like they're right there in the Western Conference next year
(25:52):
like that top of Western Conference. It's gonna be hot
between Houston and Denver and Okac.
Speaker 3 (25:58):
And I know we talked about obviously about it is
like entertaining potentially going overseas. You gotta be careful. Man,
Denver starts slipping at all, and yo, kids just gonna
be like, listen, I'll retire to my horse is so fast,
like help me out so quick?
Speaker 2 (26:11):
He was. I saw a footage of his horse went
in another race over there, which yeah, I mean, there's
a there's a lot going on in Serbia right now,
a lot of protests, a lot of like we know,
we don't got to get into that, Lord knows that's
not our lane, but you know, we hope everybody over
in Serbia is safe. Yeah, I mean other moves that
stand out for you, do you like a lot I mean,
(26:32):
we gave some praise to Atlanta's front office a little bit,
like I just feel like they've been kind of shrewd
this offseason. You know. I like Nikhil Alexander Walker, like
we've talked about him. He's kind of the ideal modern
three and D wing guy. And again, it just so
it all goes back to that twenty six pick man, like,
that's just such a good trade for them. Like we
don't need to keep harping on it, because we did
(26:53):
that a little bit last week. But yeah, it just
it feels like that was the get that they needed.
And Berzincis makes a ton of sense too. Again, it's
always assuming health with Christaps Prazil. So that's why I'm
always never like over the moon about this trade. I mean,
I think that's one of the bigger reasons. Obviously Boston
began to look to move on too. But overall, when
(27:14):
you look at what the scheme of Hawks are, like,
it just feels like, I mean, there's always still the
Trey Young discussion too, right, It's like what is that
going to play like? But I'll say this, it feels like,
for the first time like they've given Trey Young an
Arsenal to succeed and maybe see how good he is. Like,
I really like the defenders they're putting around him too,
So I don't know, it feels like, you know, again,
(27:35):
we'll see what his front office continues to do, but
it feels like they're onto something a little bit.
Speaker 3 (27:40):
And I think so too. I think now you can
finally take the whole like, well, it's not the people
around or it is the people around Trey right now,
he's going to have a team that can be a
little creative and fully put it on him almost, And
so if it doesn't work out this time, I think
that kind of answers the question a little bit, you know, no,
(28:01):
and so I'll be interested to see where we are,
you know, you know, even by All Star break at
that point. Yeah, I jokingly mentioned to you, and I
know we met, we talked about it a little bit
of liking what Dallas was doing. I didn't realize Dante
Xen was still in the league, but he did re
sign with the Dallas Mavericks for one year. Kyrie agreed
to a three year extension and in that they added
D'Angelo Russell, Spencer. Dinwiddie leaves to go to the Hornet.
(28:24):
So I don't want to give him any credit because
I kind of hate the Dallas Mavericks right now for everything,
But that seems pretty like a decent move to do.
Speaker 2 (28:32):
It's some good moves for them for sure. To what
a weird off season for the Pistons obviously, like we
haven't talked about the Blak Beasley situation, but like not
ideal as you're under investigation in a federal gambling probe.
I mean need a forty two million dollar contract on
the table, and you know between that between losing Tim
(28:52):
Hardaway we just talked about and you know, Dennis Schroeders
going back to h to Sacramento. I kind of like
what they've done on otherwise, Like getting LeVert was sneaky.
I know, he's it feels like he's a little you know,
limited points, but he can be a good bench scorer
and I mean he yeah, he played better. I feel
(29:13):
like when he got traded to Atlanta. And then again,
I can't believe how much he's come up on this podcast.
But like getting Duncan Robinson, like you know, shooting a
little bit like nothing else, he can knock that contract down.
Speaker 3 (29:27):
So it just because they're they're below it on my
list of teams and all the moves that they've done.
It feels weird that Golden State didn't do anything other
than they let Looney go and now he's on the Pelicans.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
For anybody wondering, Yeah, and I mean we'll talk, yeah,
and like we'll like we'll wait, you know, Al Horford's
rumor to go there, which again it is just like
Golden State, like really going in on the backs, like
they're just a really old roster I do.
Speaker 3 (29:55):
When you're Yeah, that's what you have to do when
you're old like that.
Speaker 2 (29:57):
Yeah, yeah, no, for sure. And I mean, look, before
we got out of their Honestly, I can't believe how
much free agency we talked. We haven't talked about Damian
Lillard yet getting waved by the Bucks, which is obviously
probably the biggest news so far. Like that is a
stunning decision, and even more stunning than to go out
and get Miles Turner mister Indiana fresh off the finals,
like survives all these trade years and then goes out
(30:19):
and gets a big deal with Milwaukee.
Speaker 3 (30:20):
Which, by the way, how wants to stay.
Speaker 2 (30:23):
The rivalry too in Milwaukee, And I mean look, Miles
said they they didn't give them money. They didn't want
to go into the tax, which obviously it does change
a little bit in the lieu of the injury. But
I mean the Pacers said they were willing to and
so you know, we'll see what happens there. You know,
It's it's interesting for sure, Like, I mean, the Bucks
now have twenty two and a half million dead money
(30:44):
on their books, you know, for the next five years,
which is not ideal. They definitely have a little more
flexibility now, you know, Miles Turner is younger than Brook
Lopez is, for sure, does this change to the ceiling
for the Bucks for you at all? Like, I just
feel like like you have to shake it up because
(31:04):
you're desperate with given how last year ended with that
team going nowhere fast with you know, you're firmly on
Giannis watch. I just like I don't think this is
what I don't think you can get out of it.
Like I think you're just kind of stuck still. Like
this team again, Eastern Conference is week. We know that
we talked about that. So you've always got a shot,
especially when you employee honest, but like, I don't feel
(31:26):
like this team is really that much better than they
were last year. I feel like it's kind of the
same team.
Speaker 3 (31:31):
Yeah, it's worth mentioning Lillard. Even though he had the
deep vein thrombosas stuff in his calf, he did still
rank tenth in the NBA and scoring an assist this
season while getting his ninth All Star Game, So it's
not like he was bad. I just wonder if you know,
maybe there was on top of the injury, potentially some
(31:54):
behind the scenes chemistry issues. Is the only thing I
can chalk it up to. And again, we'll never really
know unless someone comes out and says it. But if
that's the case, then maybe you do just need to
change it up and that's all you need. And again,
at this point, you're just making sure Yannis doesn't leave
in the Bucks case. Is at least the vibe that
(32:16):
I got with this move is full on. Yann has
had to be the one that was behind it a
little bit, if that makes sense.
Speaker 2 (32:24):
Yeah, no, for sure. I mean, Dame, what an ideal situation.
I mean, you want to talk and there is a
very real question of what is Dan giving you at
this point next year, you know, we're talking about a
guy who is thirty seven years old at this point
coming off in achilles injury. But you know, your salary
(32:45):
is paid for essentially, Like you can just go out
and put yourself in whatever ideal situation you want, regardless
of cap like if he wants to ring Chase, if
he wants to be closer to family, Like, it's kind
of the most ideal situation that I feel like in
NBA player can be in. So shout out to Dave
in that regard, Like, obviously a little brutal how it happened,
(33:06):
but yeah, the Bucks, like, he can't be that upset
about that. Well, I don't know if Yann says yannst
didn't sem too thrilled about it on Twitter.
Speaker 3 (33:14):
But well, well, and that's the weird part about it,
is like there's there's conflicting vibes that we're getting out
of it, right, And I think Dame is gonna miss
the season obviously with the Achilles tendon. Yeah he's not playing,
but still, man, Like, I guess at that point it's like,
you know, he's for sure not playing next season anyway,
And if you're the Bucks, next season seems pretty open
(33:36):
and you might be in the top three best teams
in the East. So gear up, find a way to
spread the money out that Lillard's ode, and try to
really gear up for the next year or two to
make a full run at a at a door that
might be a little bit open right now.
Speaker 2 (33:51):
Yeah, I mean again, you have to just whatever you
can to keep him, like that's the name of the game.
That's like Milwaukee's window to contention. Like he's the best
player in franchise history. You have to do it. You
have to find a way to keep him there, all right,
before we switch gears a ball and for anybody else
you want to mention before we get into ball and falling.
Speaker 3 (34:08):
My boy, Joe Ingles returning on another one year LESCo.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
He's got He's close to forty now right.
Speaker 3 (34:16):
I would post it. I saw that they announced the
returning on a one year deal and someone quoted it
is like, someone needs to tell this man he's okay
to retire.
Speaker 2 (34:24):
I was Josh Hart, wasn't it. I think it was
Josh Hart a little bit.
Speaker 3 (34:28):
I think Sidique Bay going to the Wizards could be
kind of fun, or I'm sorry, going to the Pelicans
could be could be kind of fun. So we'll see
I'm not really sure where to feel about the Pelicans,
but that move I kind of enjoyed.
Speaker 2 (34:41):
You could have paid me fifty thousand dollars and I
would have never guessed that you were going to mention
the Cidik Bay right move right there, Like, wow, just
what I think I have you figured out? But there's
something that surprised c Bay.
Speaker 3 (34:52):
You know, I kind of vibe with it a little bit.
Speaker 2 (34:55):
Yeah, for sure, for sure. All right, who's balling? Who's balling?
Our NBA versions market, we always like start with the
good before the bad, and so balling for me this
week a ten year anniversary, which really is hard to believe.
We talked about this a little before the show, but
the DeAndre Jordan free agency saga between the Mavericks and
the Clippers, and it is still ironic. Obviously, DeAndre did
(35:17):
end up playing for Dallas eventually, after all, you know,
he verbally agreed to sign with the Dallas Mavericks started
having second thoughts. Chris Paul, Blake, Griffin Dock, they all
came over and they literally locked him in the house
and tweeted a bunch of emojis until he came back
to the Clippers.
Speaker 3 (35:33):
The maps weird.
Speaker 2 (35:35):
Well, they said the maps got ghosted. Mark Cuban was
searching him down, Chandler Parsons was trying to find him.
But listen, my guy was locked in.
Speaker 3 (35:43):
That is it's such a weird NBA story. Like, it's
definitely one of the weirder ones to look back on
and be like, what the hell just happened here? And
it was still like social media obviously wasn't in its infancy,
but it was still like newer, Like I went back
and I looked at a post that I did from
twenty thirteen's it would have been before this, but like, oh,
(36:04):
here's just a post of a bud light, like just
a picture of a bud light on it.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
Those are good old days. Man. It was like light
with super back then. Will you remember Paul George. Paul
George couldn't even figure out how to use the emoji.
He went full boomer with it. He literally copy pasted
the picture of the emoji.
Speaker 3 (36:19):
It's like, Paul, come on, man, yo, come on, dude.
I know, I know it's like such an odd situation,
but but glad it happened, because that is one of
my more fond memories to talk about on this podcast.
Speaker 2 (36:31):
Oh for sure, it was a fun one. But all right,
who's balling for you this week?
Speaker 3 (36:35):
Falling for me is Philadelphia and not for the seventy
six ers. But we are getting a w NBA team.
Maybe we will get some success with that. They're gonna
be a part of the three city expansion. They'll be
scheduled to begin playing twenty thirty, so five years from now.
I'm just saying, if they're not called the seventy Sisters,
(36:56):
I'm gonna be.
Speaker 2 (36:56):
Pissed you so much. I'm so mad. Oh my god,
I feel if someone can take that the wrong way,
like it's it's so funny though, Like you're right.
Speaker 3 (37:09):
I'm just saying, it's so easy just to be like, oh,
let's go. You know, I saw someone else say they
should be called the Liberty Bells.
Speaker 2 (37:15):
No that I did see that.
Speaker 3 (37:17):
That makes a lot of a few of those posted
out there. But seventy Sisters is like, come on, that's
so perfect.
Speaker 2 (37:23):
So first off, shout out. I have two thoughts on this.
Number One shout out to Sophie Cunningham, who not only
has made herself famous as Caitlin clarksonforc Her, but also
came out on this about this expansion because the expansion
is Philly, it's Cleveland and Detroit, and she just straight
up goes, I don't know. I don't know if people
are gonna be excited to go to Cleveland and Detroit.
So shout out to her, just guarantee her getting booed
(37:44):
out of those arenas left and right before they even started. Dude,
I am so excited because you're right. If nothing else,
it spares me from having a room for the Sixers
all the time, Like you're telling me, I might get
to watch a basketball franchise that'll be successful in this city,
Like these are situations that we can only dream of
justin I'm not gonna lie though, dude. I if like
(38:07):
the Philly w NBA team's first draft pick gets injured
the first year, I swear to god, I might stop
watching basketball Like that might be it, Like it just
might be like this sport is not for me.
Speaker 3 (38:18):
I would actually be like, Okay, there's something going on.
Speaker 2 (38:21):
No, we're cursed. We would we would have to like
bring in a professional at that point to uh to
figure out what's going on there. But all right, fallen
for me this week and obviously this is an NBA
halftime legend. But dude, speedy recovery to Red Panda. Red
Panda was you know, doing her routine at a w
(38:41):
NBA game, the Commissioner's Cup Final, and she fell off
the unicycle broke her wrist obviously, like she's been doing
this for years. It's like over a decade of this,
you know, probably not a surprise like this is it's
quite difficult to do all the stunts that she's doing,
but uh, you know, obvious, so we hope for a
speedy recovery. It sounds like she's gonna be back on
(39:02):
the bike real soon. So it's some good news.
Speaker 3 (39:04):
Hurt like hell too, you know, like, oh.
Speaker 2 (39:06):
Yeah on hardwood for sure, bro.
Speaker 3 (39:09):
Yeah, dude, so yeah, speedy recovery. Happy she's gonna be
all right at the end of it all, but obviously
need her to get ready and back in back on
that halftime show performance.
Speaker 2 (39:20):
Somebody said they got to tear down the Target center
and start from scratch.
Speaker 3 (39:24):
Probably all right. My falling actually is going out to
Lebron James's career because it's apparently gonna be over. It's
gonna be over, man.
Speaker 2 (39:37):
He posted the first time I'm like I want to see.
I'm like where.
Speaker 3 (39:43):
His career is over. It's clearly winding down. He posted
a video the other day he had a cigar in
his mouth and he was golfing. So let the finale,
the finale tour start.
Speaker 2 (39:55):
Yeah, I saw step was already uh well saying welcome
to the game.
Speaker 3 (39:58):
You know.
Speaker 2 (39:58):
J R. Smith's a big golf for too, Like he's
Jr is good. He was out there with like the
bros and stuff.
Speaker 3 (40:03):
Lebron needs a little bit of work. The swing was
a little rough.
Speaker 2 (40:06):
But they can't all he can't all be perfect. Like
if Lebron came out with it. It was like Steph
when step drilled that that goldand one, It's like kidding
me right now. I think the only time I groaned
war is when I found out like Luka, Doncic is
like top like one hundred and overwatching It's like all right,
It's like all right, like enough, like can we not
have anything? Man? Like?
Speaker 3 (40:27):
Is the is it? Is it? Did you say it
was JR that's playing college golf or he was playing
college golf who ended up doing JR was yeah, okay.
Speaker 2 (40:36):
Yeah it he was out look at a few events
things like that.
Speaker 3 (40:41):
Thought he didn't he go to school. He was on
like the college team.
Speaker 2 (40:44):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (40:44):
Yeah, yeah, okay, okay, yeah, that's what I thought too.
Speaker 2 (40:47):
Yeah. Obviously, like you know, we'll see. Uh, he's certainly
living in l A. Got plenty of great courses to
hit out there. I mean, you see, man, I want
to see, we'll see. His Lakers future is a little
murky too. It's kind of crazy. I think we get
another summer of lebron to be honest, but it feels
like we might get one more.
Speaker 3 (41:03):
Well and then and then who was the Oh my gosh,
I should know this. There was an NBA player that
was in the Olympics for volleyball.
Speaker 2 (41:13):
Yeah, you're right, I should know this too. And I
don't remember what it is because it wasn't somebody. It
wasn't a star obviously, like it was a roll.
Speaker 3 (41:19):
No Olympics volleyball. Let's Chase Yep, that's who it was. Yep.
Good for him.
Speaker 2 (41:30):
Wow, that's crazy. Yeah, I mean he played seven seasons.
It wasn't like he was that's the thing. It wasn't
like he was a scrub. He definitely like seven years,
no joke. That's crazy. Good, good for him, good for good,
good for Chase.
Speaker 3 (41:41):
Uh. All right on Shuston Minnesota, Indie and Phoenix for
our Immaculated there you go. Seriously, yeah Darling on that
for sure.
Speaker 2 (41:52):
Yeah, well on that note, we want to switch into
Immaculate Grid.
Speaker 1 (41:55):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (41:55):
Dennis Schroeder continues to just be an all time Immaculate
Grid legend too. Now going to Sacramento, Like, I mean,
my guy is at like ten franchises at this point,
Like he's reached like Ish Smith and Jeff Green Tears
of Immaculate Grid where it's like, oh yeah, like we
just you know what it is like he's almost you
almost feel bad using him in a way because he's
been on so many teams.
Speaker 1 (42:16):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (42:16):
But all right again for the Immaculate Grid users and
for the podcast listeners, you can always watch the Immaculate
Brids on YouTube just search driving ash NBA podcast for
the podcast listeners. This week, our columns are left to right,
the Cavaliers, the Bulls, and Hall of Fame are rose
from top to bottom, the Wizards, the Mavericks and the Sixers.
So justin I'll start with you what are we thinking?
Speaker 3 (42:42):
I mean, Allen Iverson obviously works for Hall of Fame. Sixers.
Speaker 2 (42:46):
Yeah, I mean Sixers, Hall of Fame. I had like
ten guys that I can rattle off without even thinking.
Speaker 3 (42:51):
Well, I'm trying to did Why do I feel like
Michael Carter Williams ended up on the Bulls? He did confirm, Okay,
so there's that. So there's that one.
Speaker 2 (43:03):
Yeah, I mean Sixers, Bulls, Michael Carter Williams, Nicole Vucevich. Honestly,
you want to probably no, no, you don't know. We
gotta do this. I'm an overrule, but he's a processed guy,
so it would be a good point. No Sixers and
Bulls at worse Isaiah Cannon Cannon cannon ball. It's like
c A N A A and yeah, there you go.
Speaker 3 (43:24):
Second one, okay, not to ends, yeah point four.
Speaker 2 (43:29):
Dude, alright, yeah, we got him from the Bulls. He
was I mean obviously played more minutes with us, but yeah,
it was I think he played like maybe half a
season there.
Speaker 3 (43:38):
Okay. I wouldn't even know that.
Speaker 2 (43:43):
I was invested in those squads, dude.
Speaker 3 (43:46):
I mean I was trying to remember the not those
years anymore. I try to look past them essentially. M
all right, Well, obviously, Hall of Fame's easy. I'm trying
to think, where did gor Toat go after the Wizards.
He didn't end up on either calves or bulls, right.
Speaker 2 (44:03):
No, he ended up on calves or bulls. Quartet was
in Phoenix, he was in Washington, he was in Orlando,
said the Clippers. I think that's probably it. But yeah,
none of the teams here. I'm trying to think, like
some of these, like the Wizards, and Wizards and Bulls,
I'm having a sneaky hard time with right now.
Speaker 3 (44:26):
Wizards and bull Yeah, unless auto.
Speaker 2 (44:31):
Auto porter otto porter does work. I think I think
he was in Chicago. I think he was recently there,
so that's one to have. I mean Sixers in Calves.
Speaker 3 (44:41):
So JaVale McGhee played on the Wizards for a really
long time, and I feel like he played on like
seventeen other teams he did.
Speaker 2 (44:49):
Confirmed. If it were Wizards in Mavericks, I would know
one hundred percent it would work. But it is not
Wizards and Mavericks, right, If Wizards and Sixers, it would work. Honestly,
javailed a brief still with the Sixers.
Speaker 3 (45:00):
I think he had a stint with the Calves.
Speaker 2 (45:02):
He did he for shorted we could use to veil
we give if he won for Wizards and Calves. I
don't think he works for the Bulls. I don't remember
him on the Bulls, but he definitely had a sin
for the Calves. It was in one of the later
Lebron years, I believe. But yeah, either way, he was
definitely there. He's He's a sneaky, good, immaculate grid Darling too.
He's been on a lot of different teams. Shout shout
(45:24):
to Javail. Okay, so Calves and MAVs.
Speaker 3 (45:29):
Andre Andre Drummond ended up on the Calves, right.
Speaker 2 (45:32):
Yeah, Andre Drummond works for Calves and Sixers for sure.
The other guy who works for Calves and Sixers is
Danny Green. Danny Green ended his career on the Calves.
I believe definitely played a few years of us. For sure.
Speaker 3 (45:48):
Ron end up on the Calves.
Speaker 2 (45:50):
He did. Rondo ended his ear. We talked about this
a few weeks ago. If Rondo had a very brief
still it would Yeah. Yeah, I can't really think, like
I feel like Rodney Hood might have been not enough
to bet on it. Wow two percent? Yeah, I mean
I guess he was. He was on Cleveland so little
that I just feel like Rondo's a darling there. I
(46:11):
guess Rondo would you know it? Probably too. He would
have worked for MAVs and Bulls. He would have definitely
worked in that spot as well.
Speaker 3 (46:17):
I forgot about that. Yeah, okay, so what's his name? Oh?
Point guard for the MAVs. Uh Felton. Did Felton never
end up on the Bulls?
Speaker 2 (46:36):
I don't think so.
Speaker 3 (46:39):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (46:39):
Oh no, who works for It's way more chalky. But
Tyson Chandler. Tyson Chandler works for the Bulls, drafted him,
and he obviously won challenge hip with Dallas.
Speaker 3 (46:48):
Tyson Chandler is a good one. We can do that.
I'm fine with that.
Speaker 2 (46:51):
Yeah, I'm fine with it. It's chalky, but like I'm struggling,
I gotta be honest, trying to think of somebody else
right now for that combo?
Speaker 3 (46:58):
Yes, okay, that's all right.
Speaker 2 (47:02):
They can't all be zero point four percent? Isaya Cannon ver.
Speaker 3 (47:05):
For sure works this one too, right?
Speaker 2 (47:08):
He was on the Sixers and Calves. Yeah for sure?
Speaker 3 (47:11):
Yeah, yeah, okay, yeah.
Speaker 2 (47:12):
He definitely does. He would work for bull Sixers too.
I think I think Quarter's gonna be high.
Speaker 3 (47:18):
Oh yeah, he will be. He's always high.
Speaker 2 (47:26):
He's got the hair that he It seemed like he
blazing a lot. And you know he was in Utah.
Never mind, all right, Danny Green is my lean out
of these. So oh Nyang works. George Niang was there
last year. That was kind of recent. You mentioned Drummond.
Drummond works for sure. I'm trying to think of like
(47:48):
any of those like preprocessed guys like Evan Turner was
never there. Halls was never there.
Speaker 3 (47:54):
Yes, Spencer Halls was there?
Speaker 1 (47:57):
Was he?
Speaker 3 (47:58):
Yes, I'm just just about to say Spencer Hawes was there.
He was like right after when did we get Michael
Carter Williams.
Speaker 2 (48:06):
Fourteen thirteen thirteen.
Speaker 3 (48:08):
Ye, it would have been right after we got Michael
Carter Williams. Haws went.
Speaker 2 (48:11):
That would check he was. He got traded right after that.
Speaker 3 (48:14):
So wrong thing, wrong thing, wrong thing clicked. I clicked
on his egg.
Speaker 2 (48:19):
Uh yeah, if you're I go for it. He'll be low.
Speaker 3 (48:23):
Spencer.
Speaker 2 (48:24):
Let's Spence needle Man. He had that game. Him hitting
that game winner against the Bulls is just an all times,
just like which is that that's so sad that that's
an all time Sixers moment for me, but like that
twenty thirteen squad was supposed to was like projected to
be the worst team of all time and then won
(48:45):
the first three games of the season against the Heat
with the Big Three and then the Bulls with the
healthy Derek Ross, Like just absolute madness, dude.
Speaker 3 (48:53):
The all time Sixer moment for me is in person
watching him hit a game winner against Orlando in Orlando.
Speaker 2 (48:59):
Yeah, for sure, it was great. Yeah, you can't beat that.
That's electric.
Speaker 3 (49:05):
Okay, okay, I got one for you ready, and just.
Speaker 2 (49:11):
Oh I love it? Do it for sure? Bulls legend dude. Yeah, yeah,
you know, I am really actually surprised that that is
not higher. I thought for sure that would be higher.
Speaker 3 (49:24):
I think people don't remember him on the Wizards.
Speaker 2 (49:27):
I guess it was just he's such a popular Bowl
that I figured he would almost just like kind of
pick that up by association. Either way, all right, Hall
of Fame, we can run this out real quick. Hall
of Wizards, MAVs Sixers. I mean, the Sixers probably have
the most, not even me being a Homer, Like, there's
just genuinely a lot of guys like you know, you
(49:48):
will Hal Greer, Charles Barkley, Iperson, Chris Webber. Now technically
low key worst that might be the lowest one I
can think of so far. I mean, Julius Irving, Moses
Malone a obvious.
Speaker 3 (50:02):
There's no like one offs that like recently got in
that would have been on the team at one point.
Speaker 2 (50:07):
M I think, yeah, like Andrew Tony is not a
Hall of Famer? Did we mention mo Cheeks the Hall
of Famer? She works too?
Speaker 3 (50:21):
Yeah? I feel like there's no Oh wait, didn't Dwight
just get in?
Speaker 2 (50:26):
Dwight did just get in? Yeah? Wow, Okay, I'm cool
with Dwight and Dwight getting in. Are they going to
give him not? So? Are they going to give some
nonsense because he hasn't been fully inducted yet. That's the
only thing.
Speaker 3 (50:37):
That Yeah, that's what I mean. Like Dwight definitely works there,
but I don't know if it counts yet.
Speaker 2 (50:42):
I hate that so much.
Speaker 3 (50:45):
Because he also work for Wizards.
Speaker 2 (50:48):
Yeah, definitely work for the Wizards. All right, let's do
that scares me now because you're right, and I feel
like that'll get us because I feel like that got
us with mellow too low key because Mellow is obviously
going in this year. Oh right, in that you want
to do Chris Webber in that case with the Sixers,
he'll be He'll be lower than some of these older guys.
Speaker 3 (51:06):
I think Chris Weber is fine, Okay, all.
Speaker 2 (51:12):
Right, Washington. The most obvious one for me is Wes Unseld.
He's probably the best player in franchise history. Trying to
think beyond that, like they, I mean they've won a
title as a franchise. Who are the great like? I
mean recently, none of those guys are in. Is not in,
Beal is not in. I mean all those two thousands,
(51:35):
guys like Gilbert Arenas never got in. Russ will be eventually,
he's not there yet. We could use Chris Webber here
to Loki. He started his career in Washington. I don't
think Matumbo never ended up there, right, I don't think so.
Oh my god, I mean, I'm sure there's others. They're
they're just there. Oh dude, wait, hang on, we're idiots.
(51:58):
Michael Jordan works. First off, I know that people forget
about that. I feel like we almost have to because
it's the Wiz. It's gonna be number one. Obviously, are
you kidding me.
Speaker 3 (52:09):
It's kind of low.
Speaker 2 (52:11):
Who associate with There's no way, I mean, un Cell
is gonna be high. But like I am a little
actually who the highest Hall of Famer is for the Wizards.
Speaker 3 (52:23):
Who are in the Hall Fame and play.
Speaker 2 (52:31):
Okay, Wes and so Earl Monroe. That's a good one.
Elvin Hayes.
Speaker 3 (52:36):
Yeah, there's Wallace. Paul Pierce.
Speaker 2 (52:41):
Oh, Paul Pierce is a good one. It's a good
one for Washington. Wow, all right, let's close this out.
Dallas is the last one we need Hall of Fame for.
I mean, Dirk is the obvious one. Yeah, Steam Nash
works too, of course, I don't just kid does work.
It's good one, right, Oh my god, he played for
(53:06):
so many Texas teams. I think he might have. Did
he get there late? It would have been real late.
Speaker 3 (53:13):
I think he did.
Speaker 2 (53:14):
I think he did do it. I trust it. I
feel like he was there really late. I feel like
I've seen because Denz rodmins a popular jersey too. You
see people with that all the time. Beautiful all right, wow, dude,
I got wow. Wow. I did not think I mean
they did.
Speaker 3 (53:34):
Count Dwight Howard. He's on this list. Okay, all right,
well that didn't count him.
Speaker 2 (53:38):
That's fine. That's good to know for the future though,
because I for sure thought that wocked this out.
Speaker 3 (53:43):
Here you go, Dwight Howard, Paul Pierce, Michael Jordan. Those
are those are the three most recent.
Speaker 2 (53:48):
Yeah, then you get the seventies.
Speaker 3 (53:51):
So I got in the seventies, Mitch Richmond, Ben Wallace,
Chris Weber, Ralph Samson, Bynard King, Moses Malone, Spencer Haywood. Yeah,
and then you start getting in the seventies.
Speaker 2 (54:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (54:04):
Verry Sloane, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (54:06):
That's a good one. Oh yeah, Jerry Sloan's a good
one for sure.
Speaker 3 (54:10):
She played fifty nine games.
Speaker 2 (54:12):
Dennis Rodman only played twelve for the MAVs, by the way,
that was crazy. Wow.
Speaker 3 (54:16):
I think last season, last season of his career.
Speaker 2 (54:21):
All right, so do you want to scroll down to
the most popular answers.
Speaker 3 (54:26):
That's crazy, there's sixty nine connections for all.
Speaker 2 (54:29):
Right, most popular answers. Oh, that's a good one for
Calves and Wizards. Even bring that up Antwon Jamison. That's
a really good one. I remember that trade during one
of the Lebron years Michael Jordan for Wizards and Bulls,
who again. You know we didn't bring up there. I
guess that does make sense why he'd be fifteen percent
there actually, Wes Unseld most popular for Wizards in Hall
of Fame, Kyrie Irmin for caves and MAVs, Tyson Chandler
(54:51):
for MAVs and Bulls, Darkoviski for MAVs and Hall of Fame.
Danny Green. Wow, twenty percent shouting Danny Green for Sixers
and calves. That's a little surprising for me. Wow. Jimmy
Butler for sixers and bulls. Julie Serving for Sixers Hall
of Fame. We want to go back to our We
didn't even didn't mention it one time?
Speaker 3 (55:12):
All right, our.
Speaker 2 (55:13):
Grid one last time if we want to run it
back for wizards and caves. Juvale McGee for Wizards and Bulls.
Krk Heinrich for Wizards Hall of Fame, Michael Jordan for
MAVs and Calves. Gen Rondo for MAVs and Bulls, Tyson
Chandler for MAVs Hall of Fame, Dennis Rodman Sixers and Cabs,
Spencer Hawes Sixers and Bulls, Isaiah Cannon and Sixers Hall
