    (00:00):
You are locked in. Look at what we have here folks.
To the only show that matters, the queen of the crop do gloves
wrestling and there is no one that does it better than your
house. I have come here to chew bubble
gum and kick ass and I'm all outof bubble.

    (00:27):
Oh yes, it is Mara Sade, the Renaissance woman AKA the Go
Getter and you are listening to Duke Love's Wrestling.
Brothers and sisters, we have her.
    Legitimately the smooth operatorherself.
She tore it up at WWENXT. She is a fighter.

    (00:51):
She is a reality TV personality. Most importantly though, she is
a really, really nice human being.
So without further ado, Mara Shade, welcome to do Clubs
    Wrestling. How you doing?
Thank you so much for having me and yes, I do it all so.
You do it all and then some. There's no question about that.
That's right. But but again, the most

    (01:13):
important part though, is that you really are a a nice person,
you know, just interacting with you, it's clear that you you got
    a big heart. Definitely.
I can be nice for sure, but don't get it twisted.
If you want to, if anybody wantsto go there, we will take it
there. My mom always used to tell me,
you know, you ain't got to startnothing, but you got to finish

    (01:34):
it. Is is this why in your in your
rap songs, you, you talking about what you're going to have
to do and all this other good stuff?
Don't listen. I don't listen to some of these
songs now. Listen, I love making music and
I got to let people know. OK, OK.
And so I better, I better watch myself now.
Without playing games, no games being played over here.
Mara Sade don't play. So, so Mara Sade and and and of

    (01:59):
course, the emphasis on the Sade.
I love the name. I love the name I I grew up a
huge Sade fan so anyone with Sade in their name is
automatically going to get my attention.
Is is that where it comes from? So yes, I was definitely named

    (02:19):
after the iconic singer Sade, and I love that woman.
She's gorgeous. Everything that she stands for
is so beautiful to me, from her music to her style, her whole
aura. It's crazy I I see her in you.
    I love that. That's great.
That is so interesting because there is a, a, a strong beauty

    (02:42):
and a mysteriousness that's there so so we can credit the
singer Shaw Day for some of that.
Most certainly, I have a few really big inspirations that I
feel fuel me and just even from her voice being so distinct.
I love people who have unique features or things about them

    (03:06):
that make them stand out or set them apart.
And I feel like as an artist, she did that with her voice
again, with her style. Music videos were so
mesmerizing. And like you said, the
    mysteriousness and the beauty ofthat.
I, I, those are things that I appreciate, and if I can embody

    (03:27):
those myself, I think I'm doing it doing it pretty well.
    Yeah. And then some.
That's right. So you have been all over the
    world. I'm done.
I'm starting to. Well, didn't you make it all the
way over into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia?

    (03:48):
    Most certainly. How was that?
It was quite the experience and it was amazing.
So many memories, to be honest, and so many first experiences.
That trip was probably like verymuch the top of my list.
I never would have thought I'd be in Saudi Arabia, but the fact

    (04:09):
that I got to was a dream come true because I mean, Saudi
Arabia of all places is very farfrom home.
So it was quite a treat. How did, how did the the people,
especially the kids, how do theyreact to you?
Honestly, I went into it, we, meand Lash went into it thinking,
you know, just based off what weheard before and what we've

    (04:31):
seen, just seeing that the audience, there wasn't too much
crowd interaction and for us to go out there and get NXT chance.
And what's funny is I remember being on or being ringside at
one point and I remember kids calling me Ice Spice.
And I was like, what? Like it was crazy.

    (04:54):
And I already know it was because of the orange hair,
whatever, whatever. But like, it was lit, to be
    honest. It was.
So there was energy for sure. And we felt it and it was
amazing. It was not what I expected, but
it was more than what I expected.
You know, one of the things thatI was told is that at the River
City Wrestling Con this year, the kids loved you.

    (05:17):
Yes. I find that very, very
interesting because kids and andand and animals, they tell the
    truth. Yes they do.
So if they don't want to be anywhere near you, there might
be something wrong with that person.
    But. Definitely.
If it's the complete opposite, then you know you found a good
    person there. So.
So how was that experience meeting the people at River City

    (05:38):
Wrestling Con? So a big thing, a big part of
this for me that fills my heart up is meeting the fans because
without them, where would we be?You know what I'm saying?
And just to see my fans up closelike that was really motivating.
I do get a lot of love online, which I'm so appreciative

    (06:00):
always, but to see it in real time just fueled me to keep
going and doing my thing. But yes, it's cool just seeing
kids come up to you and be like, hey, you know, can you sign
this? Like you, I look up to you.
You're so pretty, which I think that helps.
But yeah, I I love doing those types of things.

    (06:24):
And especially when I was with WWE, I love doing the mind is
facing a little the doing thingsthat where we had to interact
with the kids. Like I love doing that stuff.
The boys and Girls Clubs, that'swhat it was.
I love doing those and I had so much fun with the kids, whether

    (06:44):
it was creating art with them, whether it was talking to them,
because I just feel that kids, I'm like I said, like Herb, just
talking about people looking up to others In my situation, me
being a wrestler, I want to inspire people and I want to

    (07:06):
leave them with a everlasting impression.
Well, you do that and then some.I mean, let's be honest here,
pro wrestlers. The whole idea is that you're
real life superheroes, right? You're you're real life action
figures. You're what the average person
aspires to be, you know, so, so looking at Mara Shaw day, the

    (07:32):
woman formerly known as Jakara Jackson.
Muscles, beauty, fashion, athletic, literally the whole 9
yards, you know, gets on the micand when she speaks, she's
relatable. All of those things rolled up
into one are, are inspirational. So people like, man, I wish I

    (07:52):
could have that degree of confidence.
I wish I could look that great. I wish I could be the total
package, so to speak. Which is great because there's
some kid who's in the gym right now working out and, and who's
taking their their appearance seriously and who's who's
following their dreams, partially at least, because they

    (08:13):
saw you. And I love that and that's
probably the biggest goal. And that for me is purpose
enough to continue to do what I do to inspire others, whether
it's in the gym, whether it's, you know, just shooting for
anything you want to do in this life.

    (08:34):
Cause I just believe we all havea purpose.
We all have a mission. And if you can tap into that and
figure it out, the better. So I like, I love that I live to
    that. That's so cool now.
Now, before the WWE, you were nostranger to television 'cause
you were on a reality TV show, right?

    (08:57):
Yes, leading up to WBI, did a few things.
I did a lot of things, to be honest.
    I modeled, I did runway, I did. I did some commercials I've
done. I was an extra in a lot of
movies that you may know. The most recent one was The
Harder They Fall that had Jonathan Majors.

    (09:20):
That was the craziest that I've ever been on.
It was amazing, but I did that. I also did a fitness competition
and then following that is whenever I got the Titan Games
opportunity, which was another opportunity that opened a door
for me. But yeah, that was crazy

    (09:40):
experience. So so you're, you're the second
person to come from Titan Games and make the WWE?
Cause I'd be now. Wasn't she another one who did?
That yes, she was on season 1. Wow.
    Yeah. That's why what's, what's the
Rock like? I mean, you, you got to see him
in different spaces. You got to see him with Titan

    (10:01):
Games and and then in WWE, what's he like?
He's so awesome. Like he's probably my biggest,
    my biggest, my biggest wrestling.
I'm the biggest. I'm a big, very, very, very,
very big The Rock fan. I can't even talk right now
because I'm getting a little excited because I'm like The
Rock, but I'm just getting all these flashbacks of when I met

    (10:25):
him to even being backstage WrestleMania, seeing him drive
by on a golf cart. The man is nothing but aura like
everybody loves The Rock. And so with that being said, it
was crazy meeting him on Titan Games.
I didn't get to cry me him like I wanted to in WW because as you
can imagine, things are always going fast.

    (10:47):
So I only got to see him in passing.
But when I did get to meet him, it was, I mean, everything you
could imagine. It was crazy how it happened
though. So we all walked into the set of
Titan Games, which is it was epic.
Like when I tell you, it was almost like a gladiator theater

    (11:08):
slash like movie set. It was crazy.
But we're all standing there andI just remember I was like,
something's about to happen, somebody's going to come out.
I can feel it in my bones all this sudden from the corner of
my eye I see this giant man justwalking out slow but like on his
way towards the group. And I'm like Oh my gosh.
So I made sure to position myself in front because I was.

    (11:31):
Like. I was like, I need him to notice
me. So he walks up and I couldn't
help it, but I was like getting a little giddy.
I was geeking out for sure. And he's like you, you all
right. And I'm like, I'm great.
Like it was the craziest thing ever.
So he he kind of noticed, but I got to chat with him a little
bit on the actual show, But there was a lot of things, a lot

    (11:53):
of emotions, a lot of just, I just say high emotions going on.
When I met him the two other times on the show to where I
don't feel like I could have, I wanted.
I don't feel like I spoke with him or got to say the things
that I would have liked to, but it was cool, I'm not going to
lie. Hey, you come from his tree now

    (12:16):
you know you're on his show and you transition into WWE and I
mean, you're a pretty big star in NXT.
So in in the number one faction in in that organization, what
have you. And, and beyond that, you got to
wrestle on the main roster. You like smack down and it?
Did you wrestle on Raw? We did not wrestle on Raw.

    (12:38):
    I didn't, at least. I did.
Show up on Yeah, we did show up on Raw.
You showed up on raw and and andyou got to be at the Saudi show
and what have you. Hey Rock, I'm telling you right
now brother, 7 Bucks Entertainment definitely should
reach out tomorrow or Sade because.
It's in movies. I'm ready for it.

    (12:59):
You are the action star. I'm telling you right now,
    you're like you're you're perfect for it.
Any action movie you could do it.
    Anything. Yeah.
I mean, you're my own stunts. You kidding me?
Yes, that's what I'm thinking. I'm watching you on TV and
obviously I'm any wrestling I'm watching, so that's no big deal,
whatever. But my lady, she looks at the

    (13:20):
TV. She was like, who's that?
And I was like, Oh yeah, Jakara Jackson, you know, she, she's
part of the metaphor and etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.
She was like, that's the best looking wrestler I've ever seen.
I was like. Well, what do you mean by that?
She was like, no, she, she look at her, she looks so good.
The muscles, she, she, her, her makeup is right, her hair is

    (13:41):
right. She the outfit is working the
way that she she carries herself.
She was like, she's the best looking wrestler I have.
I will watch that woman. And I was like, wow, deep, deep
stuff. That means a lot just 'cause you
know, growing up in my, in my experience, looking for people

    (14:02):
who looked like me or just, you know, back then, it was more so
reality TV and growing up, there's always somebody that you
look up to. And for me at least it was
Aaliyah and like like a left eyeand Janet Jackson, just cuz I
had a similar build to me. And you know, so those women

    (14:25):
were people who I saw who inspired me.
And to be part of that, in whichI'm just saying I feel like now
there's so much more representation, but to be part
of that means the world to me. Because growing up, I don't feel
like I did see a whole bunch. But now with the Internet and
how expansive it is, there's so much.
And for me to be a part of that means so much to me.

    (14:49):
So it makes me feel good when people see me and they are
    motivated. Well, think about this.
We have you, lash legend, Jada Parker, you you can go to to
    Bianca Bellaire, Jade Cargill, Naomi.

    (15:09):
These are all different ways to be a black woman.
Yes. You all are different in your
own ways, You all have your own swag, your own style, the way
that you present yourself overall and what have you.
It's it's not, there's no cookiecutter business going on there.
Everybody's their own individualselves, and yet it all works.

    (15:32):
And I do believe in this business too, you have to be
different and stand out. So I believe that is a big thing
that like helps in that. But like you said, those names,
including myself, we, it's a matter of really knowing
yourself and being confident in your skin to go out there and do

    (15:53):
you. And in doing so inspire others.
    And so I think it's, it's beautiful and it's quite a time
to be alive, to be honest, with all the things, all the changes,
all the talent that's around these days or since me being
signed at least. Yeah, it's, it's definitely very

    (16:14):
competitive, but at the same time the cream will rise to the
crop and you've proven that. That's.
    Right. You know.
So, so where do we go from here?I mean, other than and not just
wrestling, just in general, whatwhat, what are the big things
that we can expect from Mara Shaw Day over the next year or
so? Most certainly, like you said

    (16:34):
multiple times, I am the whole package.
And with that being said, and asI said earlier, I am the
Renaissance woman. Like I do it all.
I love photography, being behindthe camera, in front of the
camera. I love, I want to do movies.
I've done a few commercials. I'm since being released, which

    (16:54):
is I'm blessed. Like the opportunities have been
flowing and I believe more will be flowing.
So to be honest, I think people should just keep their eyes
peeled period when it comes to me because you never know what
I'm about to do. But with that being said, like I
said, movies. I've been doing some music

    (17:15):
lately, which I have some collaborations on the way.
What else have I been up to? I guess I'll reveal it right
now, but I have done a special project involving my entrance
song in which I am on there singing my or not singing but
rapping. I got some bars, but I did do my

    (17:38):
entrance music for this new chapter I'm in.
I have lots of things I'm just trying to so many, but I I don't
like to talk about. I like to be about it.
But those are just a few that I have going on.
And again, even the modeling. I love doing that runway stuff.

    (17:58):
I the Sky's the limit for me at this point and it's exciting
because to get to WWEI had to grind.
So I'm no stranger to the hustle.
So I'm comfortable here and I'm literally only scratching the
surface at this point. It's only been what I'd say what
a month, a month change. So literally I just, I believe

    (18:24):
in me and I'm, I believe in manifesting and praying and you
know, I, you say that my spirits, you know, not my
spirit, but just. Well, your aura, you have a
    strong aura, yeah. Thank you.
And I believe that that's important just moving forward in

    (18:46):
anything because I just think it's a waste of time to wallow
in your your woes. And so I believe that the law of
attraction is a thing. So if I'm believing that
opportunities are flowing my direction and I'm successful,
that's what's going to come. And that's always worked for me.

    (19:08):
So I'm not going to change it. I love it.
I love well, what's the best wayfolks can can continue to watch
your your next move, so to speak?
What's the best way that they can follow you?
Certainly my Instagram is probably my biggest social that
I'm on, which is at it's Mara Sade and then my YouTube.

    (19:31):
I'm also doing lots of vlogs these days, which are so fun to
me because again, I love being behind the camera, editing all
that stuff, but that is it's Mara Sade.
My Twitter as well is it's Mara Sade and let's just have the
TikTok and that's going to be a say with two eyes Sade.

    (19:55):
Love it, love it. And I can vouch folks that the
    YouTube in particular is awesome.
Really, really high quality stuff that you're putting out on
there. And it's cool just to see you in
in everyday life. That's that's really nice.
That's really nice. I appreciate that too because
I'm I'm a right now for now until this I build my team.

    (20:16):
I'm a one man band doing this YouTube game and it's no joke.
You gotta you gotta put out qualities.
I really appreciate the comment. The editing alone is tough, so
the fact that you're doing all that yourself is incredible.
    That's. It's so talent, it's fun.
Yeah, fun when with especially the finished product, but boy,
you're, you're talented. If you're doing that yourself,

    (20:36):
that's amazing. Listen before I let you go, New
Mexico, Yes, we don't hear enough about New Mexico.
There are a bunch of hidden gemscoming out of New Mexico.
You feel me? Don't get it twisted, though,
I'm with you. There's like fighters that I was
saying, but there's a fighting down there you have to see.
It's pretty big cause Holly Holm, Jon Bones Jones, Who else?

    (21:00):
I'm trying to think, I mean myself, talk about me.
But yeah, New Mexico's awesome. There's amazing food down there.
    It's so picturesque. It's beautiful.
That's definitely where your girl's from, so I'm always going
to Rep the five O 5. Damn right, damn right.
So so talk to me about food thatif I go down to Mexico and I
really want to get something that it literally is New Mexico.

    (21:23):
Like you have to get this dish when you come down here.
What am I getting like? Oh my God, I think I'm going to
speak for myself and I'm going to say them Smith is do you
know? Do you know what that?
Would say that again. Do you know what Christmas like?
Getting enchiladas and requesting the Christmas like
    chili combination. So.

    (21:44):
Basically there's red and green chili, which are a very big
staple in Mexico. And when you get the both of
them, they refer to it as Christmas red and green.
And so basically I'm going to say anything.
If you get a burger with green chili or red chili, I'd say
green chili on a burger. So good.

    (22:05):
I love enchiladas, tamales. I'm sorry, I'm giving you a
whole, like a whole whole menu. But sopapillas, stuffed
sopapillas, biscochitos. Oh my gosh, that's probably my
favorite treat. But if I had to say, gosh, even
the burritos are bombed down there, I'm at, I'm have to say,

    (22:29):
    enchiladas. Enchiladas.
    OK, Enchiladas. Enchiladas.
That's the way to go now. Now what are you put in your
enchilada? What's What's the Marshall Day
Special? I'm getting the green chili
    enchiladas. OK, And what else?
Actually, I'm probably going to go for the green chili burrito.
And that's what. Bacon, eggs, potatoes.

    (22:53):
Green chili, of course. That's probably my fave.
And I remember going on lunch breaks and stuff and I would go
get a burrito because I'm a fiend for a burrito, especially
New Mexican. I haven't had a good burrito in
Florida, I'm not going to lie. Yeah, I from what I understand,
you ain't going to get one either.
Hey. Got to go back home for that

    (23:14):
    one. Definitely if I haven't had a
burrito in a minute. That's hilarious.
Well, listen, Maura Sade, I'm a fan of yours.
I really appreciate all that youhave sacrificed just to
entertain us out there. I think that's really, really
cool. Everything that you've had to
overcome in life and and just tocontinue to pursue this dream.

    (23:38):
And I look forward to seeing what's going to happen next,
because clearly the Sky's the limit.
That's right. And I thank you for those
encouraging words because it's things like that that definitely
keep me going. So I thank you and I'm excited
for the future myself. Like I said, the Sky's the
limit. Ain't nothing holding me down,
putting me in a box, stopping mefrom doing exactly what I want

    (24:01):
to do. So very much looking forward to
the future. All about the perfect life.

    (24:25):
Be yourself, let your spirit lie.
In this fashion, you'll touch the sky strictly for the
culture. We're so fine dressed to impress

    (24:46):
    and show. Your shine.

    (25:17):
Hey guys, you're listening to the Five Star Athlete Ruthie J
and we're here with Duke Loves Wrestling.
Brothers and sisters, you know the River City Wrestling Con, I
keep telling you, I told you it was going to be great.
I had no idea that it was going to be the best ever.
Legitimately the best incarnation of River City

    (25:39):
Wrestling Con was this past weekend in 2025.
And you know, obviously we know Ric Flair, Bret Hart, Devon
Dudley, Thunder Rosa, we know all the folks who who helped
make it fantastic, all these bignames and what have you.
But I want to make sure that theunsung heroes get their flowers

    (26:02):
as well. And certainly when we talk about
a match that took place this year that was so fantastic.
Sylvia Sanchez from WOW going upagainst Ruthie J legitimately
one of the up and coming stars on the independent wrestling
scene. CCW champion for over 2 years,

    (26:23):
legitimately ATV star in the making in our own right.
I figure you know what? Let's make sure that we that we
put it all in proper context. And what better way to do so
than to have Ruth DJ here on Duke Loves Rasting.
So without further ado, welcome, welcome, welcome, my West Indian
cousin herself, Ruthie J What's going on there?

    (26:46):
Hey, thank you for having me, myWest Indian cousin.
    That's right. That's right.
Now, Now, what part of the West Indies are you from?
Everybody knows that I'm I'm on the Jamaican side.
What part are you from? Well, you know, I always tell
people Hispaniola, but they never know what that is.
They they don't read, you know, so I got to tell them I'm
Haitian and Dominican. So that's like Haiti and the Dr.

    (27:06):
But like if you put the whole island together, it's called
    Hispaniola. But you know the.
Whole island was together. It it was forever, it was
Hispaniola. It it being separate is really,
historically speaking, a fairly new thing.
You know it's only. Been what, 100 or 200 years at
this point? Well, I was going to say that's

    (27:28):
not new. That's a good amount of time.
But yeah, you know, they were together.
But that's what happened with people.
People can't stick together sometimes conflict.
Now they're two islands. Two islands, two big islands
producing major athletes just like yourself, but I'm I'm going
to ask you something before we can get into the wrestling since

    (27:49):
you since you got a little flavor from both sides of
Hispaniola. What are we talking about in
terms of food? I mean, you know, soup, Jamal or
what have you like what what what do we got going on here?
    All right, let's I, I. Know.
OK, I know. All right, You know, what do we
got? We got for the Haitian side, we

    (28:09):
got dilli, which is rice sauce, poi, which is beans, and
    legging, which is like vegetables.
It's like a whole mix of vegetables.
OK. So like, say anything about the
picklets, what's going on with that?
So the crazy thing is I'm, I'm Haitian and Dominican and I
don't like spicy food. Oh, OK.

    (28:31):
Yeah, they tell me I'm not real for that one.
    So I that's why I didn't say anything.
No spicy. All right, So what about the
Dominican side? The Dominican side, we got like
the same kind of dish, which is like the rice and the beans,
like they're kind of the same, but the flavor and the and the
seasonings are different. That's why I wanted to give you

    (28:54):
like 1 common meal that we both share.
It's going to be like the rice and the beans and the the
vegetable mixture. I honestly forgot what it's
called is Spanish, but they alsohave the very same dish.
It's just different seasoning. Well, and it's funny that you
say different seasoning because there is a type of mushroom that

    (29:16):
is very popular in, in, in Haitian cuisine, which gives it
that extra flavor there, not unlike what what Jamaicans or
even Indians using Curry and what have you.
Haitian cuisine usually has thismushroom weather in powder form
or the actual mushroom itself. Is that the difference compared
to the Dominican style? Yeah, for the most part, yes,

    (29:39):
because with the Haitians, the the the vegetables with the
seasoning is different. So we would call it probably,
you're probably thinking of Jean, Jean.
    Yes, Jean. Jean.
Yes, yes. Yeah, I thought about it.
I was like, he's probably thinking of Jean.
Jean. Yeah, that's it's easier for me
to know the names in Creole because I was born in Haiti.

    (29:59):
Oh, you were actually born in Haiti?
Yeah, SAC passe. Not bullets, like I said all.
    Right. All right.
I love that. All right, that's cool.
How long you been here? Well, I came to the States when
I was 4, so I've been here for 21 years now.
    That is wild. Wow.
Wow. Yeah, I was born to be a star
man, I tell people. That is deep.

    (30:20):
That is deep. So so how does how does this
diaspora feel seeing you continue to follow your dreams
here in pro wrestling and every year you're getting bigger and
    bigger. How does what feel?
The diaspora, so literally the Haitian people from around the
world, you know, the, the, the whole crew here, the whole fam,
so to speak. I'm sorry, using fancy words.

    (30:41):
I'm I just, I was like, how doesthe word feel?
Oh, I learned a new word today. OK.
Honestly, I feel like they're like, wow.
Like if they would know that I'mactually from Haiti because
like, I'm pretty sure a lot of people wouldn't even guess that
because, you know, you didn't even guess that.
My English, I don't really have an accent.
Like I'm pretty Americanized, soI'm pretty sure they're probably

    (31:02):
thinking this is like a Haitian Yank.
That's what like they call us. I'm sorry.
They do like they call like Haitians from America, Haitian
Yank or something or Haitian American.
Like they're not from Haiti. So it's like they would probably
assume I'm from America. My parents are Haitian.
They wouldn't assume I'm actually from Haiti.
So they would still be like proud of me, like because I'm

    (31:23):
representing Haiti. But like, I feel like if they
would ask, most people would ask, Actually, no, I'm from
Haiti. They'll be even more proud, you
know? Well, they're going to know now.
They're going to hear you on this and they're going to know
now. And what about the Dominican
side? Do you have a strong Dominican
following? Honestly, I have like a good
Hispanic following, not a good strong specific Dominican

    (31:44):
following, but a good Hispanic following because it's like, oh
wow, she's half Dominican too. I didn't know that.
So when people like find that out, they're like, OK, OK, OK,
we'll Rock You with her, you know?
That's cool. That's can you speak all, all
the languages there, French, Creole, Spanish, Can you speak
it all? Bro I'm trying, I really am.

    (32:05):
It's hard because the accent forFrench is the opposite for the
accent in Spanish. It's it's, but all of it is
Latin, so all of the words are kind of the same.
So it's really hard. Yeah, yeah.
It's really hard but like for meI always say I speak 3 1/2
    languages because I speak English.
I speak free all and I put French and Spanish as 1/2 so I

    (32:28):
    make it 1. Nice, nice.
I love that. I love that this is the thing,
folks, you know, I, I love to speak about the culture because
we all are somebody from somewhere and it's these behind
the scenes things that really let you know we're a lot more
connected than we realize. So the fact that Ruthie, the

    (32:48):
Ruthie has the Haitian, the Dominican, all this mixed into
one she but she's been here mostof her life.
This is a multicultural person, French, Spanish, English,
whatever, Creole, we can do it all here.
And and this is just another reason why you got to come out
and support this young lady as she continues to climb the

    (33:09):
ladder in the pro wrestling world.
It's pretty cool. It's pretty cool.
So, River City Wrestling Con howdoes it feel to be not only at a
convention like that, but performing legitimately in front
of the greatest wrestlers of alltime?
Honestly, it felt. Good, like I remember seeing

    (33:30):
Layla L in the front row watching my match and she was
just so happy because she told me like before, because she saw
me in my gear. She said, oh, I'm going to watch
her match. I'm going to watch her match
because she met me the day before.
And like we were talking at my around my table and then she was
just like, like she was like, wow, you have like a great look.
Like, she was complimenting me and I was like, Oh my gosh,

    (33:50):
you're Layla L And I was complimenting her because, you
know, I'm grew up watching her, so that meant a lot to me.
And then the next day, she's like front row watching my
match. That was like surreal, I think.
She was a Miami Heat. If she wasn't a cheerleader, she
was at least a Miami Heat dancer.
Did you? I remember she was a dancer,
    yeah. Yes, yes, yes.
And she? Had the big curly hair and all

    (34:11):
that stuff I loved. Her old look like Oh my gosh,
yeah, she's the best she's. The best, legitimately, not only
one of the most talented, but also one of the most beautiful
    wrestlers ever. Layla.
Hell yeah. Yeah, she's the best.
She's the best. So that's cool.
You got a chance to see her. People don't realize that these
conventions, that that's a make or break moment.

    (34:32):
You, you can legitimately find your next move in a space like
that. You know, I, you and I were
talking about this offline, but Sylvia Sanchez from Wow, she was
wrestling at River City Wrestling Con a couple years
back. And the owner of WOW, Jeanie
Buss, who also owns the Lakers and she owns the tequila brand

    (34:55):
with Michael Jordan and all kinds of other stuff.
She's one of the richest people in the world.
She was there at River City scouting and didn't tell anybody
she was there. She was just kind of hanging out
and she watched Micah's match and was like, we got to sign her
and that's how she got the deal. And then they turned her into
Sylvia Sanchez or what have you.But that's just one of many

    (35:17):
stories of scouts seeing talent at that convention, offering
them a deal and going forward like that.
So the fact that you had a solidmatch this year and, you know,
even in last year and what have you as well, it's like you're
you're doing the right things there.
    Ruthie, thank you. I do.
Appreciate that you know, all wecan hope in this world is for
    opportunity. Damn right.

    (35:39):
Damn right. So I got to ask you though
because this is breaking news folks.
Ruthie, after over 2 years of being the CCW Women's World
Champion, you lost the belt. So are are you feeling a little
a little empty here? You know something missing?
My suitcase was feeling empty. I was like, oh shoot, I I

    (36:03):
forgot. I like every, No, for me, I'm,
I'm the, I'm the most hilarious person.
Like I always feel like I, I left my title somewhere,
especially when I got to carry it somewhere.
So this time I'm just like, oh, shoot, I forgot my title
somewhere. Then I was like, oh shoot, I
    left. I thought I forgot.
    It but I 'cause I always forget.I don't know how, I don't know

    (36:24):
how. I hope no promoter hears that.
I always forget it but I always,I never lose it.
I just forget it sometimes. Like I literally thought I
forgot it but then I remembered I like Oh yeah I love it.
So who? Got the better of you Who?
Who's the new champion now? My.
Former enforcer, A traitor. Mickey Black heart, Yeah.

    (36:44):
What's up with this girl? I mean, she's got her little big
muscles all puffed up and what have you.
She she thinks she's hot stuff. Who does she think she is
turning on you like that, right?Like.
I brought her into this game. I brought her into this fight.
I brought her into this businessas Maya forced her to do one
    job. She had one job.
    Couldn't even do it. Wow.

    (37:05):
    I know. Wow.
And I I know. That she she had a viral moment
recently what wasn't former WWE Women's champion Paige.
She said she was looking at pictures of Nikki and, and she
thought she was looking at herself for a second.
So maybe she's feeling herself because of that.
Maybe. But in my opinion, I could beat

    (37:26):
both of them up, so it's not a compliment either, you hear?
That you hear that Paige, Soraya, whatever you're calling
yourself today, You hear that Nikki Black heart, The fact that
you have stepped out of line with Ruthie J, legitimately the
pride of the West Indies, legitimately one of the most
beloved wrestlers on the independent scene today.

    (37:47):
The fact that you have run afoulof this woman.
We can't stand for this. In fact, I'm demanding a
rematch. OK, Ruthie J deserves to get
another shot at that CCW title. What do you think about that?
    I think that's a. Great idea, I think I should be
the champion right now. But you know what, you win some,

    (38:09):
you lose some, you live to fightanother day.
And when that day comes, I will be the new two time CCW Women's
champion. Well, I know that they have.
A big event coming up in July isit?
Is there a possibility that you could crash the party and and
and and snatch Nikki Black heartup up and and and deal with her

    (38:31):
well? You know, I'm a type of person
that doesn't like to give thingsaway.
    So we'll see. We'll see.
We'll see. July 5th, CCW folks, they got a
big event coming up. That Nikki Black heart, you
know, she she deserves a receipt.
So we'll see if Ruthie Jay can make some time to to go put
hands back up on this, this Nikki Black heart, this this

    (38:54):
this traitor, quite frankly, very helpful.
That's. Up the brew in Miami, FL Keep
your eyes wide open. I love it.
I love it For anyone listening right now, Ruthie, not just the
fans, but also promoters out there who want to have somebody
who number one, shows up on time, is always professional,
you know, always has your gear right, the makeup's right, the

    (39:15):
hair is right. Always very nice and polite to
the fans. I can speak to that personally,
folks. She's done a fantastic job at
River City Wrestling Con. The fans love her.
For anyone out there who is serious about doing business,
what's the best way they can getin touch with you?
Ruthie the best. Way to get in touch with me is
through my e-mail. It's going to be Ruthie J, the

    (39:37):
number six at Outlook dot dot com or you can find me on social
media at on Instagram at Ruthie under score All under score
smiles, Twitter at Superior Queen or Facebook at Ruthie J
Awesome. Before I let you go, what's,

    (39:58):
what's the big dish this weekendhere?
Now that you you're back home from being on the road and what
have you here, What's what's thebig meal today?
Honestly, today I might just go get some seafood.
I'm gonna go get a massage. You know, I just had one of the
biggest losses in my independentcareer, OK?

    (40:20):
I need this time to rejuvenate. OK?
    Tony Shivani. And we're.
Desperately out of time on Duke Love Wrestling.
